  • They gave far too many buffs to survivors. Range of the free WoO should be greatly reduced to only light up pallets and vaults that's within the light is what 10 meters? Remove the %20 faster gen time. Played both sides of that mode and escaping is far too easy unless it's Legion.

  • Light's Out was one of my favorite game modes to play. They've butchered it so much it's just straight up terrible now. Leave it to BHVR to completely ruin something.

It's called LIGHTS OUT not Lights On!

  • @Oputeev_Stas said:

perks and addon aren't disabled there? It's been so long I even forgot

Nearly everything is disabled in Lights Out coming down to pure skill between the players. No perks, add-ons, red stain, terror radius. So listening for any audio cues be the most important thing in this mode. Or at least it should be stupid candles lights everything up that survivors would want to see.

  • I've had %100 achievements in this game myself but gave up on it as this game will always just add more achievements with every character added.

  • Meyers and Ghost Face also needs to be banned as well maybe Dredge. They can highlight survivors with their powers completely ignoring the darkness.

  • Only part I see was a failure was the mori. Doesn't represent what we voted for. If they couldnt deliver then go back and vote for a new mori animation and replace the one current one.

  • Sounds a lot better and more immersive than a candle giving WoO for free to everyone which kills the point of Lights Out.

Still need to ban Meyers, Ghost Face and Legion from that mode.

If you compare it to Dredge's nightfall it truly isn't about skill to get into a loop. The RNG is different, you can't see any loop neither hear the killer. Lights out been always pretty killer sided mode and I think that adding woo won't be that bad because you will be in advatage of killers with dashes, antiloops etc. while survivors won't have anything, no haste perks, no second chance perks, ne gen perks. Lights out even with WOO will still be probably the most killer sided mode and it's fine.

Conflicted myself if this is really alright to give survivors WoO in Light's Out mode. Whole point of the game mode is to be stripped of all information other than being able to see the most important objectives killers see gens and survivors being able to see slugged and hooked teammates. Suppose to be playing in the dark but the candles just lights everything up. SMH

Out of interest, what feels different for you this time around?

Should be obvious but certain killer add ons need to stay banned in Chaos Shuffle getting a 1 out of 145 chance to get No Mither is one thing survivors can still play if they are unfortunate to get that perk but some killers get a 1 or 2 chances out of 24 that their power becomes unusable.

Lights Out mode needs something similar since killers should be banned in that mode. Meyers Ghost Face and Legion are basically playing with hacks when the point of the game mode is to be stripped of all information.

Except that nerfing the strongest Killers will just not happen. There are obvious things you can do against Ghoul for example. They dont happen. There are things which can easily be nerfed right now for Jason, nothing happened.

Nurse gets a slap on the wrist for years. Blight got Nerfs, which did barely anything. But what is certain that more Survivor Perks will be nerfed, whatever is the next reason why Killers lose.

The ideal way would be to nerf the strongest Killers AND buff the weakest KIllers and THEN evaluate what needs nerfing on the Survivor Side. And this obviously in a much quicker way than BHVR is doing.

Considering it takes the devs years to make any real meaningful changes and most of the the results were a disaster. Twins rework, Blight nerfed, SM changes, Hill Billy chain saw, anti tunnel and slug changes.

No one has faith anymore with these devs with how painfully slow they are.

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4103441#Comment_4103441

Then the correct step would be to nerf those Killers instead of keep nerfing things on Survivor, if the things that get nerfed, dont affect the strong Killers in a meaningful way.

But honestly, I dont care too much about it. I will just expect the "Nerf Lithe"-Posts in a few months, because then Lithe is the reason Killer Mains are losing games.

If we only nerf the strongest killers without touching the strongest survivor perks it'll make all killer even worse and people will still play the strongest killers. Need to do is nerf the strongest survivor perks then we can nerf the strongest killers which will make the weaker killers more viable without even touching them.

So it's been free on demand for a decade? Um, ok... It doesn't matter if you believe it was free or not (although I disagree with a Sprint Burst being free. Lethal Pursuer is free. To get value out of Lethal Pursuer, all you have to do is exist, lol) That's not the point of my post. My point is that every exhaustion perk will be gutted in the future. It doesn't matter if it was really problematic or not. DBD streamers, content creators, and killer mains will make the case anyway with all of the mental gymnastics that they can muster. And every time an exhaustion or healing perk is nerfed, the brigade will come out with a multitude of justifications as to why it needed to be changed.

Meanwhile, killer queue times are getting longer and longer. And as I said, killer mains will eventually be playing against SWF only, so be prepared to sweat Every. Single. Match. Eventually this will become a problem for most killers as well, so the game will eventually be balanced around top tier SWFs. With the survivor pool getting smaller and smaller, the ones that will stay will be extremely high skilled bully squads. DBD will go the way of Marathon. Not in terms of player counts, but I'm referring to where only the top 1% will stick around.

There's a massive difference between getting value for free from a perk that can be triggered at any point of the match such as sprint burst against a perk that activates only once or a very specific action happening then becomes a dead perk for rest of the match such as lethal or Corrupt.

  • Of all the exhaustion perks Sprint Burst was the most free on demand with no trigger requirement or input on the survivor before the chase even starts. Getting changed was long over due it was hurting the slow M1 killers the most. All other exhaustion I have no issues with cause they all require the survivor player to do something to get value out of it which mostly happens during chase.

  • @MashedBroccoli said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4102882#Comment_4102882

you can compare them because its all free value at the start. You just don’t like when people point out the double standard.

Ruin - You don’t need to chase a survivor off a gen, you just need to get them off a gen. More often than not the only person working on a gen has to go get a save which means the killer just got free regression.

Corrupt - still free game delay for the survivors. They start near blocked gens so they can’t progress.

Lightborn - free value as free value can get.

Again there is a lot more perks that both sides can argue get free value. Hence why its a horrible argument that never should’ve been allowed to get off the ground.

It's 4 killer perks against 16 survivor perks. Killer perks should be stronger on average compared to survivors. Ruin, Corrupt, lethal lot of other killer perks that doesn't require the killer to put in any effort to activate but most of them only can activate at specific times of the match and becomes a dead perk after its use. Sprint Burst i never liked cause it can be used at any time of the trail without any effort on the survivors part.

  • Why would I ever not play one of the best killers in the game when I'm always fighting against the strongest survivor perks? Not gonna put up with the stress or put myself in a huge disadvantage when playing a weak M1 killer.

  • Yeah BP gains need to be rejusted for everyone. The incentives when first came out was x2, x3, x4 maybe x5 now it's barely going past x1.5 and BP gains for just playing needs to be much higher losing a game and getting only maybe 12,000 feels horrible but if gains were far higher say got 30k the loss wouldn't feel so bad.

But knowing how stingy the devs have been with BPs only reducing the amount we get it's only gonna feel like we're just wasting our time.

  • @MashedBroccoli said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4102696#Comment_4102696

so you don’t like lethal pursuer, lightborn, Ruin, Corrupt? Or is it just survivor perks you don’t like.

Can't even compare them. Lethal a one time use at the start if the game to value from the other half of the perk you must have an aura perk, lightborn there for people with eye issues, Ruin a hex that can easily be destroyed and must chase survivors off gens to get value, and corrupt a one time use at the start of the game that last a set time or get first down. Sprint Burst gives value at any point of the match for doing absolutely nothing other than run to trigger it.

They should also ban Legion because they can see survivors with killer instinct. Also they should ban trapper because his traps are impossible to see in this mode. Also they should ban Wraith because it's so dark I can't see his shimmering even when he's close because it's dark

Also they should ban Sadako because her phasing will be impossible to see in the dark and it's unfair. Also they should ban Dredge, because what would Midnight do? Make it so dark we can't see anything? Also they should ban Bubba and Billy because it's unfair that they can just walk up on us with no terror radius and insta down us.

Also they should ban Cenobite because finding the box in the dark would be impossible.

I can't remember but Legions power can't detect anyone when they have no terror radius same with Doctors static blast being tied to his TR. Dredge guess could be banned since it also highlights survivors during nightfall. Some other killers like Trapper just take a candle with you so you can see. Not being left completely blind.

  • Killers are not getting Franklin's giving survivors WoO while holding the candle is fair it's a high risk high reward item for them. If they want to see the map they themselves become easy to see by the killer.

The devs really need to disable Ghost Face and Meyers for this mode as well as they basically have sight hacks which I feel was the most frustrating part of lights out.

  • @sp1nu_ said:

Why can't they give us Prop Hunt? or My Little Oni? Or something new? It's always the same stuff.

We've only gotten Lights Out twice since modifier games was introduced. 2v8 is all i ever see.

  • Off work and found the info myself August 4 - 11th.

So Windows of Opportunity is free while holding the lanterns and a few other minor changes.

Meyers and Ghost Face NEEDS to be disabled for Lights Out mode those 2 killers kill the purpose of the game mode completely bypassing the modifiers with their stalking basically giving them sight hacks. Playing against those 2 always been so terrible.

Doctor and Legion may as well also be disabled not cause they're insanely strong but their power doesn't even work having no terror radius.

Not sure on the rest of the killer roster if any should be kept out.

  • They brought back Lights Out. My favorite game mode more so than 2v8 even. Playing as Xenomorph that mode you're almost a stealth killer and survivors get the flame turrets as some kind of warning.

Did they at least disabled Myers and Ghost Face cause those 2 ignored the rules of Lights Out?

  • I honestly think BHVR doesn't give a dam. They'll say they do care but I've never once seen any kind of action against it since I've started playing when Oni was released.

Other games takes it seriously League of Legends really good example community was super toxic years ago but they got a system that quickly and heavily punishes toxic players and alerts everyone that X player was punished for Y reason in a recent game. They even have a honor system that helps promote good behavior. There's still a bit of light trash talking but the community really improved a lot.

DBD? Jack #########. Auto censorship which is extremely easy to bypass, toxic players during end game never punished, zero transparency from the devs about toxic behavior or killer anxiety and the thumbs up system we have for all we know it does literally nothing.

  • Trying to balance I'm certain is just an after thought. They are so few and so far in between not sure if they even care about the game anymore.

  • 10 years and BHVR had still not made a proper tutorial of what expect or the ideal way to play. Even a short vid of how to play as this killer or how to play against this killer would help and they won't even do that.

  • I think the biggest problem with perks is since you have no idea what you're getting yourself into. You're going into the match completely blind so you end up picking just a few comfort perks that you find the most reliable and the other %95 of the perks just never get used or very hard to get any value from it.

  • I've never heard of survivor anxiety playing that role is super chill and turn your brain off and enjoy. Got 3 other team mates that can help you out in the trails.

Killer anxiety only been getting worse and i don't really know myself how the devs can help curb it as can't trust them with anything as it either breaks or they just make the worst choices possible. Maybe something that can help it a little give killer base kit corrupt intervention or dead lock to help slow gens down a little since getting 2 or 3 gens popped as you get your first down being the worst feeling ever when playing killer. And start issuing real punishments and better clarity for toxic players during end game chat. Seen too many players spew out the worst ######### possible and far as i'm aware absolutely nothing was done to punish them.

  • Pixel Bush Video he just dropped hours ago.

"Skull Merchant Just Got Nerfed AGAIN. Please Stop It."

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RXHEH-WbaM0

I'll just drop this here. This is again another massive failure on the devs.

  • @ThatRyanB said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4097839#Comment_4097839

This is one of those topics I'd love to dig into a little. If Killer anxiety is something you feel, is there anything specific that tends to trigger this for you?

Refined a DBD content creator gone over this a lot lately and recently posted his own thoughts about it on YouTube. Was part of the DBD consultant team (forgot exactly what it's called) but i guess a dev somewhere can't take criticism and kicked him off.

    For me though.

    • Everything and all the pressure is on you.
    • Survivors been given too many basekit buffs to help them out while killers haven't really gotten anything.
    • 》Survivors get help with gen lock down, tunneling and slugging, but does the killer get any help when the survivors slam gens? Nothing.
    • After getting your first down and hook if 2 or 3 gens pop it could feel like the game is doomed right there feeling significantly more pressure.
    • Killers aren't really feared anymore so some players dedicate their time to bully the killer.
    • End game chat survivors can be toxic as hell towards the killer for just playing their role. The auto censorship is the laziest option and easiest thing to bypass when they wanna tell you go end your life in since way and I've seen nothing being done about it.

    ‐‐-------------------------------------------------

    Threads topic.

    • Skull Merchant 2.0 was completely fine with the base game changes that also happened she never should've been gutted.
    • Survivors should not be allowed to instantly abandon the match when killers are force to stay because survivors want to waste as much time as possible tea bagging at the gates.
    • 》 10-20 grace period before they get it so killer can hook them before they get the option to abandon. If the killer hooks someone the timer resets. If some one gets on their feet AND walks just a few meters the game resumes as normal so killer can't be scummy and bypass it if they try to pick up and drop then back on their feet.
    • Old ranking system was best if you wanted to rank up you have to play out the game and fill the BP categories. If you rush the objectives or the match was too one sided you only risked going down in rank.
    • Edit: 15 seconds of free endurance and haste after getting unhooked during the match is fine but during the end game its almost a free escape and unless you're playing Bubba there's almost nothing the killer can do to stop them. Would cut it down to 6-8 seconds to give the killer some chance and more risk to the survivors.

Havent played helldivers 2, only 1. By the time i saw it on pc there was some big problem going on with the game, might have been something to do with the player count. That drove me away from it.

As for 7 days to die i played it quite a bit in its early access, i remember them removing the character customisation. I like using the knife for bleed damage

And palworld i got when it came out, tried it once, and decided to wait for release or something so i guess ill reinstall that too lol

The Hell Divers 2 situation might have been the Sony situation with in its first couple months that it was demanding a PSN account to play it which most countries didn't even have. It was eventually reverted but left a sour taste in everyone mouth. I don't see any really flaws with the game.

Unlike DBD perks where most are useless garbage you'll never use. HD2 perks or stratagems are ALL valid some are better than others depending on the enemy faction, mission and battle field so I there's no meta far as I know I'm always seeing players bringing different things.

  • 7 Days to Die - their 3.0 update just dropped dew days ago.

HellDivers 2 - they recently added campaigns and rewards for the entire community such as the supply jeep. Community seems conflicted a lot but I still find the game super fun.

Palworld 1.0 drops July 10th I'll be playing that a lot.

DBD? The Game isn't fun and only getting worse why should I even bother coming back when the devs constantly fail.

  • Unfortunately that's DBD for you. With the nature of how this game works and failure of the devs doing anything to really try to stop the toxicity DBD might have the most toxic player base.

  • @Your_Dad_Playing_DbD said:

I’ve already said this multiple times, but nothing is going to change no matter how much community outcry there is. The player count is basically at an all-time high, so what incentive is there for BHVR to do anything differently?

It's even worse when there's no competition for DBD. Without any there's even less incentive for the DBD devs to do better so they stay lazy and won't improve. Even though there's been several other asymmetrical games none of them found any success.

  • Should be ashamed for how bad this event is you really expect this to bring back players that is supposed to be the big 10 anniversary event?

    • The bugged cakes giving so little it had to be intentional since you did the same thing last year you have no excuse there's no way it was a bug unless someone is blind and useless that couldn't see that the cakes were very rare instead of common like all the anniversary event cakes.
    • The most survivor sided event that has ever been done getting all these new temporary powers. Unbreakable pallets be the worst one ever. Killers on The Game with all the god pallets and any other strong pallet on other maps traps the killer into a forced lost situation.
    • Only thing killer is getting a discounted clown bottle? This is all nothing but a big FU towards killers.
    • Stop being so stingy with giving players blood points. The game is only getting more and more bloated stop treating the players like disposable minimum wage workers and start respecting the players and just give them a raise in blood points.

I've played since Oni release. I've seen many highs and lows from the devs. Seen you take steps forward up the stairs that improve the game but almost always fall off the stairs right back down because you refuse to fix the broken stairs!

  • Devs will never learn they take a small step forward up then fall down the stairs.

  • Scrappy-Doo from the Velma series as a killer skin for Chucky. That version was quite the monster went on a rampage and killed several people including Velma. Its so fitting but might be best that nothing from that series comes to the DBD collab.

There's also Scrappy from the first live action movie where he becomes a very large mutant. Don't know what killer could have that as a skin. Maybe Nemesis?

  • Felix as Freddy

Kate with hair color change as Daphne

    Mikaela as Velma

    Jake? as Shaggy

Sable as one of the 3 Hex girls

If maybe but highly unlikely a Scrappy-doo skin for Chucky. The Velma series version of Scrappy was literally a little monster that killed several people including Velma.

Velma series got a ton of deserved hate for how insulting and offensive it was so the devs really need to make certain the Scooby-Doo collab honors the original series that everyone knows and loves. Meaning Cladette CANNOT have a Velma cosplay.

  • "Hello DBD team,

I’m a Korean player who’s really enjoying DBD, with about 2,700 hours of playtime.

Thank you for releasing Korean characters Hagjiwoon and Mina skins for survivor Lee Yoon-jin, as well as the Korean map.

While playing the game, I thought of one idea that I’d love to see.

The map consists of two random maps, starting with 8 survivors and 2 killers.

There’s also a portal to move between the two maps, which in my sketch is in the center. I think it would be great if the portal also appeared randomly.

I thought it might be fun for the killers and survivors to move back and forth between the two maps while powering generators and trying to escape, so I sketched it out.

Of course, there should be penalties or benefits for both survivors and killers, right? I haven’t thought about that part yet.

I just wanted to share this idea to see what you think."

    Google translated

  • Been left for dead in a ditch ever since her gutting years ago and I highly doubt the devs are ever gonna touch her again considering it takes them years to make any big changes.

  • I'm honestly baffled how the devs failed to implement this yet after 10 years it's a huge revenue they're missing out on.

  • I've gotten completely burned out myself with this game. Feels unbelievably stale, balance changes are very few and far in between of any and some changes are so bad they don't need a PTB to forsee how it'll impact the game, the devs takes years to make any real changes, they give out blood points like its minimum wage when the game getting even more bloated and there's just no feeling of progress anymore. There's no rank system or visible MMR so why even bother with a MMR system?

Taking a long extended break of the game but still watching if there's any real positive changes and that community made chapter the only thing that's left i have any real interest in. I don't care for Jason.

  • The only thing I've considered toxicity is the end game chat. Not even trying to play scummy and the other side constantly throws every slur and death threat just for playing my role.

  • Amazing to have him in the game now but can't be helped but be concerned what his power and kit be even like? Most likely have to have an original power for DBD and just like SpringTrap I'm betting a lot of players will be conflicted what his power suppose to be like.

  • I'm really glad he's in DBD now, but the only concern I have that hardly anyone asking is what his kit going be like and would it even work for today's DBD? Another dashslop killer everyone won't like, a weak M1 killer, idk.

  • @Foxycuty said:

I hope so too. He should be a strong killer so he's not going to end up like another springtrap or xenomorph.

Xenomorph i get but SpringTrap? Jason has the same problem that both Pyramid Head and SpringTrap has as none of them have a power from their respective franchise. So whatever Jason gets most likely be an original power for DBD and I'm betting the player base gonna be in a conflicted mess again like how SpringTrap was.

  • Just pray he has a good power that's both fun and fair for both sides to make him fun and not a weak M1 killer.

did you even read about the improvisation? AkA the entire point I was making about the killer concept?

At work so can't read every single word just scimming over it quickly. A M1 no power killer that gets a random weapon from a locker he could use. Highly doubt the devs could pull that off.

And I'm thinking, let him choose his own weapon like how lich or knight can pick their power. A grounded trap like Trappers bear traps, an object trap for windows, pallets and gens, a throwing weapon can be whatever, and hook and chain like DeathSlinger harpoon gun. Either he has to cycle through them all or they each have their own lengthy cooldown.

  • Brute strength, immortality, relentless and surprise? That's already what the whole killer roster is so none of that's gonna work Jason in DBD. He's has the same problem that Pyramid Head and SpringTrap has that these 3 characters have no power of any kind from their respective franchise that could be translated to DBD. So they have to give Jason an original power and I can't think of any myself that could work. F13th game think he had some kind of teleport or invisibility skill but that'll be too close to what Wraith and Dredge already does.

Though your idea of different temp weapons from lockers I see could work but have to get rid of the RNG issues that'll bring.

  • @Wezqu said:

He is the last OG slasher killer who has not been in the game. Nothing else need to be said.

Doesn't matter how famous he is he at least needs a power for DBD that's fun and fair for both sides far as I can tell he's just gonna end up being a weak M1 killer that'll quickly lose everyone's interest. Only thing they can do really is give him a new original power for DBD like what they've done for Pyramid Head and SpringTrap.

  • I've had similar problems. I dint care much when it comes to gameplay mechanics of the killer wants to hard tunnel, slug, 3 gen, or gen rush i have no complaints but what I couldn't stand was the players behavior. Survivors giving up over the most pitiful reasons start of the game and the entitled toxicity during end game chat. The devs while making some good changes here age there they still fail miserably on certain things. The operation health update last year was an absolute failure, devs aren't doing enough to punish players that give up too early or the end game toxicity, the cheaters are still rampant still using the cheap anti cheat system, and always breaking something with every update. Started when Oni came out and can't deal with the bs anymore.
