I Honestly don't know myself other than just play the game and change your mindset. Don't worry about sweating for a 4K. It's really a mental problem that every player has that'll be different for everyone it'll be hard to make any game play changes to really help with it so why i posted the vid here let others find it if it'll help anyone else out.
If anything, i would disable the end game chat entirely and get rid of it since too often it's just toxic players throwing out every slur or go get a noose. Main reason i don't play this game as much anymore. Replace it with a some fixed pre-made chat text that can be used. Kinda like an emote wheel.
-
It's a PvP asymmetrical game with a lot of random elements it can never be truly balanced.
Really the only advice i can give is to change your mind set. Expect to die a lot and try to have fun with the game. I can't really enjoy this game myself either and I've been enjoying HellDivers 2 a lot lately and it's FUN. Where death is a very common thing that happens. Mostly accidental. Newbies and Veterans die all the time the only difference between the 2 is how complex the events are that leads to us dying like idiots.
-
Really i see your argument can easily be applied both ways.
Inflated MMR? If the killer wants to tunnel for a quick MMR boost they'll quickly face against survivors where they can't really tunnel anymore so they'll be forced to adept. Killers is easily the stronger role in lower MMR but in much higher MMR it flips to the survivors unless it's an experienced A or S tier killer.
Both sides act entitled all the time. Killers feel that they must achieve a 4k, while survivors are demanding base kit buffs so they can escape.
Killer main politics? That live stream that went over the PTB changes of course mostly killers would show up cause they were getting impacted the hardest if the changes went through only have the survivor players to blame for if they don't show up. Most of the biggest DBD twitch streamers play both sides well. Claiming they're killer mains is all bs when they know the game so well on both sides they knew what would've happened if those changes went through. They can easily show that they play both sides cause they stream their games all the time but here on the forums we have nothing to show which makes arguments sound very biased towards only one side.
Both sides have to learn how to adept BUT I SEE SO MANY SURVIVOR players refusing to learn or adept. Skull Merchant 2.0 was in a much heathier state and everyone still just gave up refusing to play vs her until the devs just gutted her. Most killer games i see on twitch seems to always have at least 1 survivor player quitting the match at 5 gens over the most pitiful reasons whatever you can think of why they DC. Instead of crying out for insane anti-tunnel/slug buffs you should instead improve your looping skills. What the hell is the weaker killer roster even suppose to do to have a chance to win if those changes went through and survivors can weaponize those buffs. You'll only ever see the strongest killers then. It'll be Death Garden all over again. Those buffs would help the lower newbie players, but it'll destroy the games balance between the experienced players. There has to be 1 killer player for 4 survivor players so already by default there's a lot less killer players than survivors. Gonna make up some numbers here. 8,000 killer players 32,000 survivors players. Lets pretend the 1st version went through. Many killer players would either play only the strongest killers or quit. 3,000 killers to 50,000 survivors since it's huge buffs towards only one side. Que times for those survivors would've exploded into very long que times only to end up facing against the best and strongest killer players. It would only make the game worse for both sides.
-
If you want to punish killer players for tunneling then you need punish survivors for rushing gens. Killers have had enough they share their complaints which had all been ignored when survivors are free to gen rush. This is a PvP game can't just ignore one side of the coin when making changes that'll heavily impact the other side.
Either try playing killer yourself and not just the strongest killers try playing a weaker C tier or lower killer like Trapper and try to get at least a 3k against against a good SWF team. Tunneling has to be part of the game so killer players can at least have a chance to win. Don't like it? Then just get better at playing and accept its part of the game.
-
Also it's been shown in another thread that abandons mess up the statistics on match outcomes.
-
I play it out and my priorities switch from escaping the match to farming as much blood points as I can possibly get in the match.
Even if the killer gets a 4k it still feels like a win to me when I have so much more BPs compared to others.
-
Most players still hate her from the PTSD they got from her when she was first released and some people never got over it. There was massive back lash back then so many people refusing to even play against her even after her first rework they then just decided to just hit her to shut people up. She wasn't even that strong her 2.0 version but was in a much healthier state than her first version.
To Dodge her drone beams you don't need to crouch you just need to be standing completely still at least to avoid them. But not really something you can do while in chase so crouching while moving still works.
Also I recommend looking up PixelBush on YouTube he's a huge fan of Skull Merchant and has some really good guides and history on her.
-
I'm seeing this go two different ways. One side it would make it better if it was buffed to be used multiple times or a longer stun duration. On the other side though if it gets too strong and every survivor player starts using it. Some players WILL weaponize the perk against the killer and it would likely result in a lot of killer players just start slugging everyone in most games just to avoid the DS. So really idk how I feel about buffing it or leaving it as is.
-
Just kill switch the perk instead. Not the killer.
-
Worst thing I see about all this that there is never new perks ever being added to the free General perk pool unless it's from a license chapter that's being removed. So it's always a good thing for new players as they'll get access to these perks without having to pay real money to get them.
Think the killer perk Scattered Hope been the only perk that's ever been given freely but no one ever uses that trash perk.
-
That's something I've noticed as well. Usually the worst posts tends to get posted during late hours or weekends when all the mods are offline. There really needs to be some automation to restrict images at least when there's no active mod.
-
If all the gens are done what else you expect the killer player to do? Slugging everyone only real choice they got left.
For the camping you only have your team mates to blame. There's a progress bar that shows the anti camp meter.

Survivor players having their feedback heard but not killers and the action of the devs shows it.
The fact that the devs cancelled the tunnel/slug reduction twice shows otherwise. The Survivor buffs from 2+ years ago would be obsolete by today's standards.
The 9.2 tunnel/slug reduction would have put the game in a much healthier state eventually. Yes, adjustments were needed, but it could have been made fairer for everyone if we (devs, Killers, and Survivors alike) had given it time to work with and work out the kinks rather than just shutting it down. Now we're all still stuck in the same boat, Survivors being frustrated with tunneling while Killers allegedly "need to" tunnel. We all know gen speeds are not the reason Killers tunnel, and that was just proven in one of my matches this morning when I got tunneled out by a Legion who ran all gen slowdown plus Legion pin. Why did he need to tunnel when he already had all the slowdown?
This is why tunneling needs to be disincentivized sooner rather than later.
I can agree that the survivors need something and this version was better but the biggest issue with it still was that it helped the survivors for the entire duration of the match. Best suggestion I've seen was to tie it to how many gens are completed. At 5/4 gens survivors get their protection since slugging and tunneling so early in the game is the worst, but after 2 or 3 gens are completed the protection is removed to give the killer a chance to make a comeback even if it means they have to tunnel and/or slug.

Perhaps people rush the gens because one of the surviviors is being tunneled? Ever thought of it?
If no pressure is applied to multiple people, nothing is left to to but the gens.
I literally don't even lose games as a killer, while my survivior games are just losing after losing - because I play solo queue lately.
Those games are from yesterday only. I do not lose as a killer and I don't mostly even use full meta builds. Every game got me merciless killer with 4k's and some hatch given out.
If the survivors are smart and know what to do at the start of the game mostly SWF. They'll split up and 3 gens can pop by the time the time the killer can even get their first down. Then it forces killer players to resort to tunneling, camping or slugging. Doesn't happen that often though with random team mates or survivors being potatoes.
-
Would've harshly punished killer players for just doing their role. If survivor players were free to rush their objective or being over altruistic, etc. It just makes killer players felt forced to tunnel or slug just to have a chance to make a comeback. If changes did went through then killers would have no means of taking any advantage they could get because of the survivors mistakes and make escapes a lot more easier for survivors.
-
Could take away his deep wounds. Doesn't make sense why he even had it. Could make it so his power applies deep wounds only if the target was already injured as a start.

What basekit buffs? After they canceled the tunneling/slugging reduction not once, but twice while keeping the Survivor perk nerfs that were meant to compensate for the system, I don't want to hear a word about Survivor buffs.
If those anti-camping/slugging changes went through it would've destroyed the killer player experience. The survivor perks got reverted back to how they were. They've gotten base kit buffs over last 2 years or so getting base kit BT, deep wounds being reduced by 2 seconds across the board, a lot of QoL updates for them with the HUD update. +5 seconds added to it just recently. Killers gotten what since? a 5% faster m1 wipe and break, slightly more regress on kick very little compared to survivors.
The 4 biggest worst pain points that i've been seeing from killer players across different media on why they are quiting have been 1 of 4 things which hasn't once been address by the devs.
- Survivor players having their feedback heard but not killers and the action of the devs shows it.
- Killer Anxiety
- Survivors being super toxic during end game chat
- Gen can just fly sometimes and there's nothing you can do about it.
- Make it even worse it's already been shown even though it's been canceled twice survivors are free to rush their objective with no punishment, but when the "evil" killer player rushes their objective. It becomes a problem that needs to be fixed.
- Can't punish killers for rushing their objective unless there's also something to punish survivors for rushing their objective
I play this game almost 50/50 both sides and the killer players have to put up with so much more stress compared to the survivor role. I give my voice and feed back to the side that needs it most i just want this game to be succeed being fair for both sides. I'm still even upset they went overkill on nerfing the fog vials and there's been no update since for that item.
-
Would a survivor only Scooby-Doo chapter still count?
I don't really know of any horror theme anime.
-
I don't see the point of a map showcase and likely won't ever bother with it. Im fine with playing on random maps as u get quickly bored of anything if in play the same thing for even just a few hours.
HOWEVER, if it's a map that has an achievement tied to it such as The Walking Dead map or any other map that requires to repair a specific gen and escape or RPD since it's map achievement it the worst in the game to get then I works definitely see myself and lot more others playing the map show case to get that achievement.
-
I've never even figured out how to change my profile pic. I primarily use the phone for the forums so the UI going to be a bit different compared to PC.

I've seen a lot about "devs are killer sided" "devs are survivor sided" - it's completely untrue.
With pallet density, a lot of why the times of the changes made to it have taken the length of time it has, is due to our release schedule. We were fortunate for this bugfix patch that there was enough bandwidth for the changes to be made and tested, that's not always the case.
Really hard to trust anyone's words when past actions and even the surveys says otherwise. Survivors had an option in surveys expressing why they're upset yet where's the surveys or even check boxes that let's killers express why they're upset with the game? Killers players really been feeling ignored lately when keep giving so many base kit buffs to help Survivors out.
-
It's really not worth the visceral rarity. It's the lowest quality compared to other skins of the same rarity with the dog being the only real meaningful change. For the Houndmaster herself its not that great.
-
I wouldn't mind at all having a brief stun immunity but it should be kept very short so it's primary purpose would be to protect killers from permanent stun lock from hackers.
-
I have no idea what the eastern players are like other what little I've heard from Hens when he went to Korea. Few things he noticed was that they hardly use any anti tunnel perks cause they found the best way to not go down is just get good at looping.
It's not just DBD pick any game out there and you'll almost always find that the Asians will be more skilled than the western players. They really put in the effort to hone their skills while we don't really try to improve and complain all the time.
-
They should do other badges for big achievements. There could be for %100 all the tomes.

That's really unfortunate. I hope you're able to participate in some other way!
Can still do it fine on PC. Just have to wait until after work.

I use an older phone. It opens up the web page but when it says to tilt the device so it can be wide screen instead of portrait it never triggers or detects that the device is on its side.
Had this problem since day one of this Grimoire and it's only been this site. My phone can detect if it's tilted or not just fine.
-
Necrod thread but still holds valid concerns. agree with what GentleManFridge said. Wished the abandon system was never implemented. Its clear example of catering to the demands of one side while completely ignoring the other. Survivors are given the privilege to abandon the instant it's inconvenient for them but killers are forced to wait out he entire EGC on toxic Survivors tea bagging at the gates. Its also be shown that it completely ruins the data on escape and kill rates.
It needs to be reworked make it so it only becomes available after the last survivor is slugged for let's say 20 seconds which resets after a survivor is hooked or turns off after a survivor gets back on their feet. It forces them to stay for in to let killer finish the mori or hook everyone. Gives time for a survivor to pick themselve up if they have the right perk on and it still gives Survivors a chance to abandon and avoid the 4 min bleed out.
Edit: in case anyone says 'killer can just pick up and drop to avoid the 20 seconds.' Wiggle can be reworked slightly. Carried Survivors are still considered slugged and killers can no longer drop Survivors on their feet when pressing the drop button. Instead it stays on max of 99% and it must be the survivors physical manual input to instantly wiggle free.
Might be better what we have now, but would rather get rid of the abandon system entirely.
-
Your not the only one that's not happy with the devs or the direction the game has been going.
-
I try not to tunnel. But if 3 gens pop before I even get 3 hooks then I'm gonna tunnel the survivors that I already hooked and ignore or slug the ones that haven't been hooked yet just so I can have a chance to win.
-
1 - Only nerf it needed was to make it have limited uses not unlimited that it was being used at the start of every single chase, but they went overkill with the nerfs.
2 - Pallet density only made things worse for both sides. Too many pallets won't teach new survivors anything bad players still be bad while the good ones will be far better. M1 killers became horrible to play as so you end up seeing a lot more stronger killers that don't care about pallets. Now it's been flipped too many unsafe pallets or too few. Devs failed to find a middle ground gong to far on one side or the other.
3 - agree on this map offerings are worthless and rotation shouldn't be a thing.
4 - also agree the strongest killers remain strong and the weaker killers stay weak and no idea on how to balance them without destroying their character.
5 - hit validation doesn't make any sense to me either.
6 - seeing only strong killers happens when there's too many pallets or 2nd chances for survivors. Killers have to put in far more effort just to have a chance to win compared to survivors that's far more laxed and forgiving. Playing a weak killer or meme build your likely gonna have a bad time.
7 - most content creators play both roles. The surveys had been survivor biased. Where is the killer players suppose to give their feedback?! The killer is also a player, this is a PvP game it can't favor one side or the other. The survivor entitlement getting out of hand and if the tunneling and slugging reduction went through it would've destroyed the killer experience. Survivors don't need more 2nd chances when already have so many. Do killers get anything when gens fly? They get nothing. Survivors need a better tutorial and improve their own skills not be given more free stuff that they could easily win. This is suppose to be a PvP game.
-
looks green to me. You gamma settings up high? Cause that will change how it looks.
-
Could also just make the killer's power go on a full cooldown if the killer's power uses a CD system. Blight, Nurse, Ghoul, Spirit, Doctor, Vecna, Knight. Any others in missing or there a killer that might still be too problematic that doesn't use a CD?
-
One idea I've seen dont remember the exact buffs. After all 5 gens are repaired the killer gets since buffs according to the number of survivors still alive and on death hook.
- 1 - killer gets %5 haste
- 2 - survivors are exhausted for 30 seconds
- 3 - survivors aura are visible for 30 seconds
- 4 - all lockers are blocked for survivors and any survivors put in the dying state are immediately killed by the Entity.
If 2 survivors are already dead before end game the killer gets no buffs. End game perks would have to have number changes or be reworked.
-
After seeing the pallet density for myself in game after work and all these screen shots this is horrible. Devs can't ever find a middle ground with anything it's always blown out of proportion one way. The last 2 months had way too many pallets making M1 killer useless and now it's either way too few or they're too unsafe making the M1 killers better and the strongest killers becomes far more oppressive. Even though i prefer to play killer i have to agree with survivors this is over kill.
Since it's flipped now i'll stick to the weaker M1 killers like SM since she's just got an update and avoid the stronger killers i usually play or play survivor for the BP bonus.
-
Yeah, after playing the game for a bit after work yesturday and seeing the updated pallet density it's gotten bad. Even though i favor playing killer a bit more over survivor there's either too few pallets and many loops are far too unsafe for survivors. They really can't seem to ever find a middle ground. We had what? 2 months having way too many pallets that greatly favor survivors to now too few that any M1 killer can easily outplay.
-
You mean they just made the weaker M1 killers more viable now? That's nice getting tired of playing only Xeno and Singularity.
-
Skull Merchant feels a bit better now, but she still needs just a little bit more. Mostly just stealth drones with double beams to make them more viable on there own as traps as they're still mostly useless on there own being so visible with the giant AoE lighting around them.
-

Yep. L update. Here we go with another month of miserable hyper tunneling. This community is so obligated to retaliate against efforts to make the game even slightly more bearable for newer players, and the devs are too [redacted] to make changes that might upset the loud minority.
To make the game better for newer players there needs to be a better tutorial to teach then how to properly play. Just throwing in even more pallets won't teach them anything bad players will still be bad while the good ones will have an even bigger advantage.
I'm glad for these changes forces more skill impressions from both sides and M1 killers become more viable.
-
It's still better than holding W and just running to every single pallet forcing M1 killers to break everything.
-
I never understood this change and honestly i don't really care if it stays or goes.

Is that why Survivor queue times are 1 min and Killer Queue times 30min?
The harsh truth of the matter there is to many Killer players and not enough Survivors. 1 killer needs 4 survivors that's why there's a high need for Survivors.

Cause of the 2v8 event is still going on? Every time that event comes up the que times get thrown out the window.
-
And also improve the tutorials in the game. Majority of players probably don't watch DBD anything online.
What we have now is so bad doesn't really teach players anything so they end up complaining over everything when's there's already counters to deal with camping, tunneling, slugging, gen rushing, etc. Just teach them how to deal with it there's a huge difference between good players that know what they're doing vs the potatoes running around like headless chickens.

Something has got to give mister killer man. You can't keep being handed games with 4 slowdowns.. 🙂
Thing is the only way for many gen slow down perks to even work is if the killer puts in the effort and wins the chase. 🙃 Surge, pop, eruption, scourge hook, etc only works win killer wins chases.
But for many perks for survivors, 2nd chance perks only work if when you fail or when the killer is careless. DH probably the only 2nd chance perk that requires skill to use.
-
I get to interact with the killer and an opportunity to improve my looping skills instead of just holding M1 on a gen that even a toddler can do. Bring it on!
-
Try playing killer yourself. There's a player controlling the killer as well the game can't just favor survivors. If you punish the killer role for just doing their objective, then the survivor players should be punished as well for doing theres.
Best way for survivors to counter tunneling and slugging is to stop D/C over every pity thing and get good at looping and knowing what to do but with solo que you're stuck with random team mates that act like they don't know what to do.
There's a huge difference between survivors that know what to do and how to loop vs a team of potatoes that won't even touch gens.

Killer is too brainless and easy to 4k or 3k every match. So yes I play survivor because its much more challenging.
That's definitely a skill issue then. If you want the harder challenge then you shouldn't be complaining then about camping or tunneling then. Or are you one of those gamers that plays dark soul like games on the easiest settings?

oh are they keeping the Syringe changes and styptic bottle reworks?
Those changes are staying for now as they want to see it how it'll work in live. They're gonna keep a very close eye on it.
Some perks are getting reverted back to their live version. Wicked getting kill switch until a hot fix to revert it back since they ran out of time.

There's far more survivor players than killers so que times won't really be impacted even if some decide to go on break.

the problem is i can’t get killers to commit to chasing me, i loop them for more than 5 seconds they leave and find someone they can. Then they tunnel that person out and its now 3 v 1 at 5 gens. Survivors at that point are at a guaranteed loss in most situations.
The fact that tunnelling 1 survivor can lead to an almost assured win is the problem.
Killers on the other hand can easily come back at 1 or zero gens. Survivors can’t snowball like killers can and its disingenuous to equate doing gens to tunneling. If you played both sides you would know that.
I do play both sides and no matter which side I play I see what everyone is doing and what could've gone better. Bit more killer sided cause I can't really put up with potatoe team mates not doing anything or making horrible plays like unhooking me when the killer is still so close.
If a killer drops chase with you that fast then you either wasted a lot of the killers time earlier or there's other survivors close by and they rather target the one that's more exposed.
I see all the time myself there's a massive difference between survivor skill that clearly know what to do and there's potatoes not even touching gens. The killer can only really chase 1 survivor so the other 3 should split and do gens, but if the killer manages to remove 1 survivor and not a single gen was done that's the survivors fault.
