Hints, tips, tricks and facts may or may not help you.

Some are obvious, some you may never noticed or even knew about. You might learn something from these since the game only teaches you the bare minimum. I'll try to post at least 1 thing for every killer as killer or against. If a killer is left blank then that means I have extremely little experience with the killer. Please correct me if I'm wrong about something or add your own. With the Resident Evil Chapter it's expected to bring a ton of new players so hopefully these will help them a great deal.

KILLERS:

  • Trapper
    • Best killer in the game to bait out flashlight saves, stand on top of a down survivor wait a brief moment then place a trap down then cancel the animation midway. Survivors will most likely mistake it that your picking them up.
    • Survivors expect traps in doorways/windows. Place traps around corners they hug when sneaking/looping, you'll catch more.
    • Placing traps in tall grass make them far harder to see even better if in choke points.
  • Wraith
    • If invisible shine your flashlight to burn him out of it and stun.
    • Even when invisible you can still be heard with your loud breathing and footsteps
    • press M2 to wack your bell ONCE to bait out dead hard
    • Has a audio que on successful cloaks and uncloaks within a certain radius
  • Nurse
    • Moves slower than even survivors at 94%(?) normal speed
    • As survivor if you can pay attention to her hand to get an idea how far she'll blink
    • Best counter play is to lose line of sight of her to make her guess where to blink
  • Hill Billy
    • ????
  • Huntress
    • Even if you're undetectable they can still hear your lullaby
  • Oni
    • Even if you can't see the blood orbs, Oni can and he can use them to track you.
  • Hag
    • Her traps can be burned with a flashlight
    • You can safely walk over them if your crouching
    • If you see her carrying a survivor hurry and trigger her traps, it's still risky, but she cannot teleport
  • Myers/The Shape
    • If using the mori add-on (not mori offering) jump inside a locker to avoid being instantly killed
    • if he's just stalking for the majority of the game chances are he's using double iri add-ons
  • Demogorgon
    • Holding M2 will alert you to any survivors near active portals
    • Portals that are NOT active are invisible to survivors
    • Has a car tech skill if your facing towards a car FRONT hood near the side, demo will slide around it and lunge straight ahead. requires practice.
    • Using your lunge does NOT increase your travel better to just walk, BUT if your at a high elevation using a full lunge will get you a great deal of distance.
  • GhostFace
    • If a survivor is mostly marked %90-99, but you get revealed either wait it out or chase after someone else. That marking cannot go down unless you M1 them, best to come back later with power and instant down.
    • As survivor you need to use your camera to focus on him BUT if your survivor character is blocking the view your making it harder on yourself to reveal him.
    • To reveal GF your have to focus your camera on his center of mass. So being out in the open (GF) would be easy if he's peeking out of a corner it'll be much harder.
    • There's a audio and a soft visual que for GF during the reveal, audio only for survivors. After full reveal both gets a full audio and visual que.
      • As survivor if he's not in chase and looking around, if your in a dangerous position yet hidden. Don't reveal him it'll only tell GF where you are.
  • Spirit
    • Has an audio que when using her power within a 20-32 meter range
    • She DOES have counter play to leave trail and it works %100 of the time. Go to game menu - leave match
  • Plague
    • If you find multiple clean survivors together infect one then immediately go after the other clean ones.
  • Pig/Amanda
    • It is possible to use her power and dash backwards, but you have to be up against a wall to pull it off with your camera at the right angle towards the wall to do it. 15-30 degree angle? takes practice
    • If the trap is active while in a chase the head trap will NOT count down.
    • With an active trap on attempting to escape via gates will kill you instantly, but you can still escape safely via hatch
  • Clown
    • Throw your slowdown gas ahead of the survivor or at choke points to force them to change direction or take the slow
  • Legion
    • Frenzy power can detect you if your in a locker after he landed least one hit. So get out before he grabs you.
    • If you're being blinded at a pallet, enter Feral Frenzy and vault the pallet. Doing so causes you to lose your power (due to being blinded), but now you're able to hit the Survivor with a basic attack. (???)
  • The Nightmare/Freddy
    • Every time a survivor wakes you up it'll take longer each time.
    • Fail a skill check to wake your self up from dream state
    • Freddy's power charges faster the more survivors that are in the dream state
  • Leather Face/The Cannibal/Bubba
    • ???
  • Doctor
    • If someone is saved with BT, hit and they have to mend. putting that survivor in madness level 3 they'll be forced to mend before than can snap out of it.
    • If your using the perk Dark Devotion and you wack your obsession your blast will happen around that survivor even if your on the other side of the map.
    • static blast is tied to his terror radius the bigger the better, the smaller the worse it'll be. No TR then no blast
    • Has a audio que when charging his static blast jump into a locker or get out of his radius before he uses it
  • DeathSlinger
    • The harpoon has a extremely small hitbox so he can fire his gun through very small openings.
  • Pyramid Head
    • Putting a survivor in a cage ALL hook related perks are ignored.
    • Make best use of WHEN to cage someone. If you need to hurry to apply pressure else where or risk of pallet/flashlight save, or someone else is very close by just cage em. If you have time to spare just hook them.
    • You can safely walk through the killers trail of torment if your crouching
  • Blight
    • Cannot injure anyone until AFTER Blight rams into something at least once.
    • Cannot turn very sharply so sharp corner and turns are your best friend.
  • Trickster
    • Has a lullaby that works like Huntress no one knows why he has it.
      • It makes Monitor & Abuse perk is nearly pointless on him.
  • Twins
    • While the small runt is dormant/idle. While crouching towards him it will not alert the killers attention.
  • Nemesis
    • If you see a zombie with it's arms stretched out that means there's a survivor very close by it.
    • Hitting a clean survivor with your M2 to infect them awards you Objective blood points (bug?) so Nemesis can earn more blood points than anyone else in a game.

Comments

  • Other facts on perks, maps, fun stuff, or W/E

    • BBQ and Chile - One of the most common perks and you have to assume every killer is using is. To hide from it either be inside a locker, behind a incomplete gen or close to the killer. (40 meters?) You can also trick the killer by going one direction then move a different direction.
    • Demogorgon model was actully given to BVHR by the Stranger Things team, but it still needed to be tweaked around a bit to fit DBD
    • Maps with indoor gens if you look for blinking lights that means there's a gen located inside there.
    • Maps with powered doors. The Game or The Underground Lab, if you find a door that's closed or moving a little that means there's a incomplete gen near it.
    • Doctors map, there's little electric billboard signs everywhere just above the door entry ways. If you find one that's blinking there's an incomplete gen inside that room.
    • Silent Hill map, to open the secret door inside the court room you have to repair 3 specific gens which are randomly chosen. There's always a chest inside.
    • Hatch location will always be located on the bottom floor of the map. The Game it'll always be downstairs, Silent Hill map does has a chance to be up at the stair case near the ground floor. Resident Evil Map possible to be on the second floor????
    • If your the last survivor alive and if you know that the killer knows where hatch is it's best to just camp the gate switch and let the killer close hatch.
    • Killer has priority with hatch interaction. So if your both on hatch pray killer hits you to lost collision to take hatch to escape.
    • Like Wraith, Nurse and Spirit can be flashlight burned to be denied there power, but GOODLUCK pulling it off cause I've never seen anyone pull it off.
    • Crows if alerted can alert you that someone is there.
    • Killer objects that are white Pig boxes, Freddy's clocks, Plague fountains, and pyramid cages are always visible to you even when blinded.
    • Forums post have character limits???
  • Best advice for survs... don’t cleanse the totem in front of the last gen. Probably it would be noed if the killer has it.

  • One time bump for the new players from Epic if any. Also since new killers

    • Pinhead
      • Chains are broken by the environment, but some forget you can also break them if another player runs through the chains.
      • As Pinhead if you use the perk Lethal Pursuer you can get an idea where the cube spawns. Otz can explain it better than i can since I'm not sure how with just text other than just. It spawns away from you and survivors.
      • When holding the cube you cannot drop it or switch it out with another item. You are stuck with it until you solve the cube or get downed
      • As Pinhead when you teleport to the survivor messing with the cube you will always be facing directly at the survivor so if there's line of sight blockage you should know where they are.
      • As survivor you don't always need to worry about the cube don't immediately just grab it when it appears. Wait until it gets to at least 50% before you go for it and when solving the cube either do it when Pinhead is either carrying a survivor, chasing someone already that's injured, or locate yourself to some strong tiles.
    • Artist
      • Idle Dire Crows can be destroyed with Flashlights, Firecrackers, or Flash Grenades.
      • Swarms in flight can detect you with killer instinct if they just miss you even if your inside a locker
      • The aura of the swarm is revealed to the Artist in white at all times, except for when it is being repelled.
      • Dire crows in flight will inflict direct damage to you within a 8 meter range as long as it doesn't collide with any object.
      • When swarmed it's best to immediately remove them 8 seconds to repeal and Artist has a 5 second cool down when firing a single dire crow so she only gets one shot unless you let go of repeal, vault or touch a pallet which will reset the timer.
      • Touching an idle dire crow will only swarm you or reset the timer so if looping try to go at the dire crow from the side or behind so your not in it's flight path.
      • Holding W and running to another tile set when you see her setting up crows best counter play against her.

  • Huntress: Pallets and windows can provide easy hatchet shots.

Dont be afraid to long range snipe when you know survs are on a gen, via discordance, bbq etc.

try to predict where a survivor will run into when chasing, not where they are.

Survs don't just drop pallets in my face i can throw a hatcet in your back.

Survs can counter sometimes by ducking at windows and pallets.

Survs don't just run left to right, (dont be predictable)

  • Demogorgon can also fake pick-ups by placing a Portal while standing over a Survivor that is downed
