I get mori'd enough for being paired with TTV's, I dont need one more thing cucking me as a solo for being paired with a SWF.

Yall just got your massive map overhaul and slower gens...why are there now several posts today about killers wanting to be able to identify survivor groups/perks/addons/offerings/etc. in the pre-game lobby? No, just ######### chill for a hot minute. Damn.

Yeah damn the game is actually more fair for killers yeah damn we should totally chill. Gens still wont feel that much slower and considering how broken a swf group is havign some sort of indication would save killers some headache. And people like you need to understand that without killers who actually want to play killer, there is no game. Fewer killers means longer quite times and even more sweaty campers/tunnelers. Its taken them literal years to remove the god loops from these maps and improve them so they arent totally survivor sided like most of the maps in the game.

When and where did they get buffed the last 10.000 years?

    Stop trolling, ty

Survivors are constantly getting new things to make the killers life a living hell. Survivors have more s tier perks, quick sabo, items that can break the game, etc. Ruin nerf was a damn survivor buff are you kidding me?

reworking maps is justified also reworking the god loops. but changing the size of maps and also putting just 4 unsafe pallets, 1 jungle gym and 1 TL wall in every map is unbalanced af.

you guys have no idea about balance, and you will never learn it.

i cant deal with this unbalanced game anymore, and be sure you will lose a lot more players after this patch.

    good job BHVR!

A part of me really hopes youre baiting cuz i cant fathom someone actually over reacting thia much. God loops have needed to be removed for a really long time. Theres still plenty of safe pallets and tiles to use that arent borderline infinite.

So recently I restarted playing survivor a lot, and man, is it frustrating. Take a look at this.

    https://youtu.be/XyN99sakaSE

This happens every single match. Green ping? Doesn't matter, you're still getting hit after you've vaulted the window. I'm a killer main and haven't changed my mind about the fact that survivors are too strong, but this goes beyond balance. I thought dedicated servers were supposed to improve the game, not break it.

Further proof the devs would rather roll out unfinished, broken, "improvements" than finish working on something before releasing it. Dedicated servers sounds like it shouldve made the game better. But it hasnt. There is now a constant feeling of bugginess and glitchyness playing dbd on either side. Truly sad.

i did come up with an idea for his stalk would like your thoughts this includes everyone let me know what you think (this did come from a post i done)

increase rate survivors become marked on base

slightly decrease durition on them being fully marked

survivors do not hear the noise notfication of them being stalked till its 50-60% done (dont know if survivors can actually get a sound notfication on when they are being stalked but just added it just in case)

    increase range of stalk

    Stalk:

when survivor is fully marked they gain the exposed status and are not able to hear the heartbeat or red stain for the duration of the mark even if GF is out of night shroud.

any perks that will normally alert survivors to killer (spine chill, premontiton etc) will be constanly on throughout the duration of the mark

GF will gain killer instinct on the mark survivor every 3 seconds while they are marked for the duration

(potential but not sure if it could work- if GF is chasing the marked survivor while in chase with that survivor he gains the bloodlust quicker then normal and reduce stun of pallets if hit by the mark survivor)

I do like the idea of marked survivors gaining the oblivious effect. However i think the speed burst AND the low stun duration is a bit much on top of that. Stalking someone successfully alshould yield a higher reward for how broken the detection on gf in nightshroud.

Hi everyone! I have a question that has been posed to me on multiple occasions about Ghostface. I’ve heard and read lots of different opinions on Ghostface and his killer setup, his power, and his perks builds, and have seen lots of ratings where he either placed in lower tiers, or even higher B tiers, so it sparked a question in me. What exactly are people’s opinions on Ghostface as a killer in general? For example, do you feel like Ghostface’s power is too powerful or too weak? Do you feel like his add-ons or personal perks are to powerful or weak? And is Ghostface a top played killer for you, why or why not? Personally, I love Ghostface so much, he is one of my mains. I feel like his power is great, and I love his character build in general. I’ve always had a fun time being able to crouch and peak around a corner just slightly and stalk a survivor, and I love the fact that some of his add-ons reduce how far a survivor can be to reveal him. While I think he has an amazing power and build, I feel he definitely isn’t one of the best killers in the game. Much like Michael Myers, once a survivor is fully stalked by Ghostface, they can be instantly downed with one successful basic attack. However, I feel this is balanced, in that he gains no other buffs or advantages when fully stalking a survivor. Once fully stalked, he can instantly down a survivor, but a survivor using dead hard, or even just good at evading can just as easily avoid him, with pallets and shear skill. So does this make him underpowered? Would giving him a small burst in speed make him too powerful against survivors without dead hard or speed perks? Are his perks too weak, and could adding a perk or add-on that allows him to avoid being able to down a survivor instantly, but gain a speed boost for the remainder of the stalk time be too powerful? Should he be changed at all? What are your thoughts? Thanks I’m just extremely curious.

Nah using his power the way its intended is a good way to get run around and waste precious time. Thats why a lot of people, myslef included, use his power to get close with cover and use nurses to surprise survs with nurses. Someone alreasy mentioned this but hes closer to wraith without having to decloak. People still can gen rush him. Pre ruin nerf i wouldve said he was A tier. Now it doesnt matter how nuts you are. Gf is just another mid tier killer you have to play borderline perfect on to get a 4k.

  • @VCDiamondFinder said:

I've been playing this game for almost 2 years, on PC and PS4, and never experienced playing against a killer who I felt was an easy win, not have I played with a killer in which I felt they were too weak.

See the thing is that most killers do. They have had a lot of issues for a while now. You know why people didnt talk about it as much? Becauee ruin made other less mobile killers playable. Half the killers relied on ruin to at least get a start. It was a band aid must pick for every killer that wasnt nurse/spirit/billy. Killers who cant traverse the mao in under 15 seconds now have to play borderline perfect to get a 4k. They have to make all the right decisions, and they have to juggle 4 players every game. Killer is suppised to be the power role but a team of decent survivors bullies low tier killers like clown, legion, deathslinger, etc. A survivor makes a mistake? Oh well they sit on the hook for a bit while 2 people work on different gens and 1 goes for the save. The killer side has grown so difficult that we're seeing more noeds, more moris, and more camping. Killers have other ways to slow survs but they arent fun for survs so they either dont use them or they do and get a slew of toxic remarks thrown at them by the entitled surv mains

It is multiple use IF an add on is added. I guarantee even if I add in the number of add ons to protect the key from either use or death I will still have significantly more ebony moris. The multiple use aspect of a key when an add on is used is completely irrelevant to the argument as there are still more ebony moris being handed out on bloodwebs than key uses.

The fact a key also requires a lot more work to use for multiple survivors also gets lost on killers. An ebony mori shortens a game for all survivors very easily. A key doesn't shorten a game for all survivors easily as all gens would have to be done so they have basically escaped anyway.

It is OK for a killer to shorten a game though as long as they're winning, eh?

Gens are NOT a lot of work. In almost every killer game by the time one down is achieved two gens are either completed or about to be. 3 genning is the only real way for killers to have a chance. Unless the team ur playing against are potatos. A good survivor team is gonna ALWAYS have some one doing gens and are efficient enough to punish the killer for not being everywhere at once.

why do you care so much? you played the game, you got some points, they dipped with a key, ok, next match.

I was simply posing a question. This is a forum isnt it? This site is literally designed for topics of all sorts.

  • @toxicmegg said:

keys are a fair part of the game just like moris. deal with it

Okay except for something to be fair typically that would mean theres some sort of counter play or trade off. Neither keys nor moris have any. You can run franklins sure but so what? "Oh no i have to go back to that spot later oh no" keys arent useful in late game so franklins doesnt matter that much for keys. Moris give you a kill for doing a 3rd of the work youre supposed to do to confirm a kill. Also u don't need to be rude.

  • @KornySon10 said:

Why do people think clown is bad? He is add-on relient sure, but with a proper build and some decent add-ons he is an absolute monster in the chase.

It's probably because people follow the stupid builds streamers like otz put out for him, with devour hope and haunted grounds and all that other RNG nonsense; instead of using their brain and creating one for themselves.

I usually do corrupt + bamboozle + brutal + pop goes. Bamboozle and brutal makes him terrifying to be chased by, corrupt for an early game slowdown, and pop goes for a mid-game slowdown.

There is literally nothing you can do against a bleach clown with bamboozle except feed him pallets non-stop, and with brutal you will cut through them like nothing.

Cause in addition to being an m1 killer his power can be played around. For example it doesnt slow down vault speeds. He can end chases pretty quick but if the survivor is semi decent they can extend any chase at least long enough for 1 gen or more to pop. Clown has to conatantly give up chases to not get rolled. He has no way to slow down there game unlike other m1 killers like pigwho can slow the game with traps.

I love this cosmetic and its funny as ######### with the nose and ears flapping around. But my problem is that, should there really be skins for Killers that are "funny" and redicioulas? I personally think in a game like Dbd those skins doesnt make sense and should not be in the game, thats just my opinion, what about your thoughts?

Should we get more funny skins for killers and does it even fit or not?

Dbd doesn't really inspire fear with any killer regaurdless of the skin. So giving a character literally called the clown a silly head piece is completely fine.

I've been staying away from the game for a bit due to frustrations about balance and recent changes, but at the end of the day I cant stay away from reading the forums, checking the subreddit and daydreaming about being in the fog. I love this irritating pile of awesome that BHVR has made.

While there are flaws and, at times, decisions that I absolutely cannot understand, the Devs have created an amazing game and I believe they really do care about continuing to improve on it.

Also, their willingness to sift through all of our aggravated (and often rude) rage comments here while still consistently replying to questions is impressive and shows an initiative toward transparency and a level of customer support that most companies wouldn't bother with.

We don't always get along, but I still want the Devs to be my valentine (I don't think my wife will mind. )

Yeah the devs while not perfect have made this game pretty amazing. Its easy for a game like this to fall out of the limelight or lose most of its playerbase but thia game has a lot of loyal fans because the work the devs put in is clear. Not every decision i agree with and more often than not it can make me mad. However for all its issues i still come back cause its an awesome game. I especially can appreciate the wide array of cosmetic items for every character in the gime on both sides. This game wouldnt be anywhere near as interesting if it werent for the variety of maps, killers, and cosmetics. Some killers lack the scare factor but other than that a good killer is terrifying. Good job devs u guys r pretty cool.

Look, yes, but with the power of the game, it surely starts with killers going out of their way to ruin people's games. People make accounts specifically to get away with tunnelling and face-camping just to annoy others.

It's even more prevalent on consoles where it's free to make new accounts and the corporates won't ban anyone.

Youre sorely mistaken. To sat that all toxicity starts with the killer is ludicrious. There are SO many survivors who rage and dc just for being downed normally. Not playing the way they want you to? "Douche." Missed a swing? *teabagging uncontrollably. There are a ton of survivors who go out of their way to make the match a living hell for the killer. Wether it be all green toolboxes or multiple flashlights. Simply for playing killer! I have a genuine hate for killers who get off on making the game unfun but they can only do it for one person at a time if theyre camping/tunneling. Therefore it can be countered.

  • @Zombra808 said:

They simply have more ways/chances to make survivors lives a living hell. You see too many items, bring Franklin's, take their items, and DC. See a team that may look like a SWF, that's probably not, bring Ebony Mori. Gets looped by a survivor for 5 gens because they're better than you, face camp. So many opportunities to make the game so terrible for Survivors. Sure survivors can what, Tea bag, that's it. Sure there is doing gens, their one and only objective, and flashlight clicking, most of the time to take agro off of someone being tunneled. Killers simply have more ways to make Survivors hate their lives, and they take it more often. Before you say I have a survivor biased, I don't. I play Killer and Survivor equally, have been bullied as both, and gotten to rank 1 as both. I see both sides equally, but whenever I want to be toxic, it's usually just slap on an Ebony Mori and OP addons. Survivors can't do that, all they can do is bring a key, which imo isn't toxic, just op.

Except survivors are more likely to ######### and moan when they lose. Moris are pretty much the only thing that cant be countered by survivors. Everything else survivors have one or more ways to counter. Also i have never once seen a killer use franklins and dc just to get rid of items. That makes so little sense tbh. And if they do so what? Oh no u lost an item. Big deal high tier items arent rare.

  • @thrawn3054 said:

This is a terrible idea. He literally wants to force survivors to run at the killer. Stealth play is already not rewarded as it is. His idea would actively punish it.

This isnt punishing stealth play and "stealth play" shouldnt be rewarded. Hiding from the killer all game means doing nothing. If u work on a gen you will be found. Maybe get good at chases instead of urban evasioning around lol. It literally rewards a single surv by encouraging interaction and allows teamwork because it allows gens to actually begin to be worked on. It hurts no one in the long term and makes killer feel less hopeless.

  • @Rasinbran said:

Yeah well if people were seriously that dependent on ruin to be somewhat decent then good riddance.

Youre pov is so narrow dude. The without ruin it doesnt MATTER how good u r. A killer can play near perfect and still have 3 gens pop in under 2 mins. Ruin was NOT a crutch it was a necessary way to slow down the already fast gens. Killers will just start turning to moris/bullshit even more.

Mobile killers are the only ones not suffering as hard from the ruin nerf at the moment and it breaks my heart. Ive been a fan of this game since it came out i play most of the killers but the only ones who dont need ruin to have a fighting chance arent very fun to me.

  • @CrummyCookie said:

Balanced landing, insta heals, ds and all the other nerfs helping killers as usual. Not only that but killers have camping, tunneling, noed, and overpowered killers. This game is so killer sided

Survivor main alert guys lmao. Balanced wasnt nerfed it was brought in line with all the other exhaustion perks, ds is still really strong, camping means you do gens, noed can be cleansed or prevented altogether, and if u mean overpowered the only person i would considered remotely op is nurse for her mobility and tp ability. However good players know how to mind game and out run a nurse. Spirit is only slightly better than average now, and any insta down can be negated with good positioning and awareness.

  • Dude you make such a toxic post its clear to me you have a misunderstanding of this game. I doubt red rank deaths are at 70 percent honestly. Link me the stats abd i will shut up but regaurdless ruin is the ONLY reason killers have a shot against 4 survivors with toolboxes, flashlights, safe pallets, or any number of useful items and tools survivors have to finish gens, keep people healthy, save each other, and escape. Against a decent team 2 or more escape consistently.

  • @Kycer said:

I used to be one of these nice killers who always thought that you can have fun as the killer without the need to ruin the survivors’ game with BS (OP) stuff.

Now that Ruin is gone, and the devs and survivors mains clearly don’t give a damn about the killer’s fun (as you can see in the forum), so why should we care about their fun? I will replace Ruin with Noed and bring Moris whenever I feel like it from now on.

I literally can’t afford to be nice to survivors after this ruin nerf.

Yep im already gonna start running noed. Its just like u said. Im a red rank killer who doesnt use noed or moris cause i like the chase and the mindgames and the outplays. But...if the devs are gonna so blatantly favor survivors fun over killers i might just have to go out of my way to make it less fun for them. I hate playing against them but i will be darned if im gonna let survs walk all over me.

  • @goat10em said:

Anyone else done this really alarming? Disrespectful sure but really alarming honestly.

Changing ruin so it isn't used so much but every survivor still runs DS. Changing ruin because it's not fun for new players yet my son who got the game for Christmas has already given up because he can't find killer matches because the game has been made so easy to pip that all survivors are high ranks.

Cant you just tell us what your goal is and stop lying to the fans that still support this game after all this time?

Not even that everyone is so high. Their matchmaking is flawed. Whenever low survivors queue with a red ranks a red rank killer gets that group. Not averaged out. There is so much wrong with this game now.

  • @xChrisx said:

I dont use ruin, try different perks/playstyle or u and other ppl will never learn how to play killer properly

The problem is that gens are so quick and chases that last any longer than a minute usually lead to 1 or more gens being popped. Different playstyles that are viable is crap like camping or alugging everyone. They have a fundamental misunderstanding of their own game and clearly dont care if killers are having fun or winning.

  • @I_Face_Camp said:

I love Dead by Daylight, both sides. I love Survivor and Killer but I play Killer way more for 1 specific reason. It takes too long to find a survivor game. Killer consistently takes about 10 seconds to find a game (PS4) while survivor generally takes around 3 minutes to even get into a lobby. And it takes way longer at odd times like early morning and late nights on weekdays. I think that alot of problems stem from this. Genrushing, everyone using the same perks, toxicity etc. Alot of survivors finally get into a game and want to win so they use the meta perks and bring toolboxes and keys because if you die or get a bad game, you have to wait another 5 minutes minimum before playing again. I've played DBD on Ps4 since release and this problem has remained throughout all of it.

Yeah i agree. Im red rank on ps4 amd i consistently have to wait 5 plus minutes for a game. Longer if im playing with friends. Whereas if i pick killer im usually in a lobby in under 1 minute. It sucks because in most games theres some bs making the game less fun. Everything from a insidious billy in basement to plain just bad teammates who farm survivors on hooks and cant last more than 20 secs in a chase.

ENOUGH OF THESE FORCED DO THIS IN ONE TRIAL SHENANIGANS. IF YOU AREN'T GOING TO REMVE THESE IN ONE TRIAL NONSENSE CHALLENGES THAN I AM NOT INTERESTED IN PLAYING THE TOMES/RIFT ANYMORE.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/114996/why-is-hex-ruin-still-in-the-game

The issue is that players have a limited approach to matches, and are under-skilled in how to use other techniques or other perks to stall the game.

Its not a matter of skill all the time. Most of the time it comes down to the team the killer is facing. A good team will find the ruin in under a min, and already be working on gens thru ruin while someone is being chased on one of the numerous survivor sided maps with good loops or the occasional god loop. You can juggle survivors all you want but there is ALWAYS someone working on a gen if the team is competent. Without ruin a single chase can decide a game if the chase is not very quick. Like under a min quick.

    @oh_0k said:

They are so boring they add nothing special and some of his lower tier addons are better than his rare, very rare and ultra rare addons. His base power is already limiting I don't see why his addons have to be.

Combine the effects of life guard whistle and brass case lantern, have Unknown egg give 2 extra portals with the effect it currently has, Upside down resin could let you reveal survivors with inactive portals but disable the ability to teleport. There is a lot of things you could do with his addons and it saddens me that a character with such interesting design can have such boring addons.

Yeah the only addons worth using on him imo is his TP speed and his power recovery ones.

  • @yoi said:

The problem i found With him is that actually trapper waste a lot of time searching for his traps so he needs go to the other side off the map to get his staff and that's a problem considering he need to set up traps to use his Powers and apply pressure so in my opinion u should be able to start with more traps without needing to use addons to actually have some extra pressure, by the time You walk get your traps a generator or even more than one could be done without using ruin (wich most likely Is Gonna get broken in the first 20 second due marvellous totem placement, Big brain placements), so in my opinion it would be very nice help to you starting with more than one trap without needing to use bag addons that would be a very nice help to him.

One idea ive seen that i like, is allowing him to get traps out of lockers. Keep the cap on traps that can be held and add a cap to how many traps can be set at the same time

  • @Accullla said:

Ruin is a crutch that people have become too reliant on. It's a bad perk. There are much better ones that help you get early game pressure like whispers or discordance, for example. The added bonus is you can actually enjoy them all game and not worry about losing a perk in the beginning of the match.

    Also, pressure>gen slowdown/regression

Lol crutch? True the perk can be useless but it can also carry. If is up for even a minute it gets value. Against semi decent survivors if ur not a S tier killer you need ruin. Then survivor mains call for s tier killers to be nerfed. A crutch is a reliable advantage and ruin is not that.

  • @TheDiz said:

They find a spot to hide after hooking the first survivor since they can crouch and have no terror radius and tunnel until everyone dies or DC's. I can't even blame people for DCing and it's disgusting to hear the killer brag afterwards for being a trash killer and what I consider an exploit to be honest.... Does anyone else see this or am I just getting really unlucky? I'm rank 5 after loosing a few ranks trying rift challenges...

Lots of people play him but im rank 4 and i never see him camping like youve described. And besides the easiest way to deal with a camper once you realize what hes doing is to do gens instead.

  • @DarthRane said:

His base kit is incredibly weak now.

You don't get hardly any orbs from survivors.

The flick that PC users get to have so much fun with is completely non existent on console. (Personally I'm fine with that)

It's border line impossible to take advantage of his dash. Because you get virtually zero turn ability on consoles before I would have argued he's better than Billy but now with the recharge rate and charge rate to even get going I don't think that's the case

His pallet break with club is just barely better than the normal pallet break due to now being forced to have to fully charge to break the pallet

You can no longer hit through borrowed time, this wouldn't be so much an issue if it wasn't for the fact that you already nerfed his whole kit. You could have AT LEAST kept that.

I haven't used his add ons yet cause I wanted to see how bad his base kit is and it's just terrible now compared to what it was.

Hag, plague, spirit, nurse, clown, demo, ghostface Freddy (now) are decent killers without add ons Oni. Barely even competes with any killers without any add ons atm.

I mean i havent had any problem with oni so far. Playing as him is pretty fun and even with no perks/add on i still manage to get 4ks. Sure you cant flick with his insta down but i have no problem getting insta downs in red/purp rank lobbies.

People saying BT is one of the best perks, ok boomer, like only the last comment gave ant sort of useful information, and its not like he only gave one side he also mentioned how it hurts killers with larger radius' but yeah i think unless they can make it so certain stealth killers can somehow activate BT specifically by doing some bull**** like camping idk, i mean the easiest fix is when a killer is within like 8 meters (something small) BT will actuvate regardless of anything, but i can see how BT is considered "meta" despite being a meme

Its literally one of the most meta perks in the game. Its a free hit how does it get stronger than that? Its up there with DS, DH, etc. Not a single killer game goes by where i dont see this perk being ran by at LEAST one surv for good reason. It allows survs to bully killers, serves as a perfect endgame perk, and functions as anti tunnel.

Something else I want to say to the people complaining about Borrowed Time.

Think of it from a solo survivor's perspective. We are constantly being camped and tunneled by killers. It sucks when you try to rescue a survivor safely, but all of a sudden Mr. Ghost Face pops around the corner and downs the guy who just got rescued.

Point is killers are very big on trying to snowball off rescues. Survivors need something to mitigate this.

You mitigate campers by doing gens. Thats literally it. If you want to discourage campers from camping then do gens and get 3 ppl out. Or 2 ppl can go for save then the save is as good as guaranteed if the rescuers have half a brain.

  • @YaiPa said:

Except that nowadays the anti-camping is the last reason you would use borrowed time.

Exactly. Anti camping is only one of many things it does. It makes hooking survs in endgame completely meaningless for one thing. This perk is crazy good and doesnt beed ANY buffs. Nerfs more likely.

guess how many killers dodged that lobby (we were there waiting for new killer to stay in our lobby)

    rank 5 (small tip)

There's a diffetence between dodging before a game and dcing mid game when things don't go ur way

I can't think of how to nerf keys, and let's face it; you mori 1 person, everyone DC's because they know they will die 1 hook early. ?‍♂️

At least this way, people won't DC and the Killer is still rewarded.

I think that for keys there should just be a timer to open it like the gates. You need to be on the hatch opening it for maybe 10 secs? Maybe longer/shortr idk. I think they only serve as a get out of jail free card and unless the killer happens to be using franklins or tunnels it doesnt matter how well they play cuz once enough gens r done 3 survs can just leave when they feel like it. I think mainly they shoukdnt be able to use it in the middle of a chase.

  • @Mert_MK said:

    Remove the Survivors sight.

    Make them unable to run.

Get rid of their arms and hands so they can't do gens/saves.

    Make Survivors deaf.

Have them start in dying state.

    REMOVE SURVIVORS.

Lmao hes not wrong tho. Without ruin most games would be like this. Any killer without crazy movement or an instadown can easily get gen rushed.

4-5 of the 7 hex perks in the game are very strong when activated correctly. Third Seal and Thrill of the Hunt aren't great, and maybe Huntress Lullaby could use a buff, but at least 4 of the existing hex perks are absolute gamechangers. The fact that they can be disabled as easily as they can is what makes them balanced. They're meant to be high risk, high reward. The risk is that you won't get any use out of them. That's the point. The only thing that needs to change to make hex perks better is spawn locations on some maps, which the devs are already working on.

Yeah they say theyre working on the spawns but i will believe it when i see it.

Stop asking for the risk to be mitigated for some of the most powerful killer perks in the game.

If killers go into a match without a Plan B in case a hex is cleansed within 30 seconds, that’s on them. Too bad.

You do realize the only strong killer hex perk in the game rn is pretty much just ruin? Because of the reasons op mentioned. Hex perks are basically giving the survs a physical way to delete a perk permanently from the round. Plus a lot of killers do have plan B's but survs dont like em so much. Aka slugging, camping, tunneling. Killers have to get crazy lucky for a half decent hex spawn tbh for it to last longer than 3 min.

I am familiar with playing against all of the killers and have strategies to counter them...except Ghostface.

I don't know how to play against him. I'm not a beginner either - I'm a purple rank survivor. I could do with a few Kill Your Friends sessions for practice, but that's not possible at the moment. He just gets me into the exposed status too quickly.

Typically, I'll be on a gen at the start of the match then, BOOM, seemingly without warning - I'll be in the exposed status and he just downs me after a brief chase. I think the sound of the gen is likely masking the sound of his rippling robes and the warning sound during the marking process. I'm using a headset as well. Is it just me or does this happen to others?

I played a game yesterday against a Ghostface with ruin and some nasty add-ons:

Ghostface Caught on Tape (Ultra Rare)

    • Tremendously increases the Stalking rate when leaning from cover.
    • Tremendously decreases the Stalking rate when not leaning from cover.

    Driver's License (Very Rare)

    • Considerably decreases the detection range to reveal The Killer while Night Shroud is active.

It was not a fun match! Oh, and did I mention he had an Ebony Momento Mori? So he just moried everyone. This brings me to another point: killer add-ons need to be revised. I think anything that tremenously or considerably affects gameplay should be taken out of the game, as it's unfair. Ghostface already gets people exposed fast enough - does this really need to be tremendously speeded-up?

To be fair, I did get used to looking around for him during that match and listening for his rippling robes. I managed to be the last survivor to get killed. But I also think he partially marks me, then I escape, but when he finds me again, he seems to get me exposed in a split second. Is there any cooldown from marking progress?

I find Spine Chill effective against Ghostface and I used that perk a lot - but not always.

Honestly those are his strongest stalking add ons so yeah ur gonna get exposed quick. Otherwise being mildly vigilant makes it much harder for GF to get too much stalk. Spine chill/object are really good counter to him as well. Its easy to say "just look around 4head" but that is honestly jist the best way to handle stealth killers in general.

Im not normally one to get pissed at this game but this claudette literally unhooked me right infront of the killer and he instantly downed me and red morid me. Like really? So i get screwed out of a game because a teammate wanted precious bloodpoints and i depip because according to the game "its my fault" what was i supposed to do when he literally just waited for the animation to finish and instahit me and morid me. Like ive never been so upset lol.

I do agree dumb teammates are constantly an issue. However unless im wrong they actually get punished in terms of altruism for performing an ubsafe hook right?

  • @Rex_Huin said:

No-one has ever repaired a generator hanging from a hook - that's all I'm saying...

Yes except if a team is good than worst case scenario there is always one person doing gens with 1 hooked, 1 unhooking, and 1 being chased. But chase's against survs who know how to loop and prolong chase's make ruin a must pick which more often than not gets cleansed within the first 2 mins. Gens need to be slower.

  • @Ghoste said:

I love it! Now if only the balance team would fix Legion so I'd have a reason to buy the skin..

    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I usually dont have a problem getting 4ks in red ranks on legion. Its rare i get more than 2 survs escaping.

I’m going to try to present what I think is a legitimate case as to why Spirit is so frustrating to play against as survivor. I’ve made this comment in a couple threads already, so apologies ahead of time if it seems like I’m repeating myself.

Survivors don’t dislike Spirit because she’s the only Killer that consistently dominates. There are lots of killers that are downright oppressive in the right hands, especially in at rank 1. The reason she is disliked is because THERE IS NO LEGITIMATE COUNTERPLAY TO HER POWER.

A lot of people will discuss the ‘mind game’ when playing with or against Spirit. I don’t actually think there is a mind game. Mind gaming implies that one player is giving out information that forces the other player to make a bad play. While she’s phasing, survivors aren’t getting any information from Spirit. They’re forced to make a guess. That’s not playing a mind game; it’s flipping a coin to see whether or not you take a hit. Oh, and the person flipping the coin can force it to land on heads if they make the right play.

Spirit has an insurmountable advantage while phasing. Audio and collision allow her to collect enough for a hit while rapidly closing distance. Survivors don’t get enough information during her phasing to make an intelligent play against her.

Does she need a nerf? I’m still not really sure. There are a couple loadouts that do counter her. Spine Chill plus Fixated is a new perk combo I’m having success with against her. The more classic counter build that absolutely works is Lithe, Q&Q, DWM, IW. You can compete with her, but it’s going to cost at at least two perk slots. With the current state of the game, can survivors afford to blindly run off-meta perks in order to have a chance against Spirit?

Kind if a long post. I hope this at least respectfully outlines some clear frustrations survivor have with Spirit; regardless of whether or not they’re justified.

    Edit: Grammar

I think they should just change it so there is in fact an animation for when shes phasing. Other than that i dont see any thing else short of a hard nerf that will make her better to play against. Cause the fact is that she is NOT fun to play against. Good add ons and good perks make her that much better.
