In fairness, I'm not sure how many survivor mains knew demo's portals gave killer instinct over themselves in the first place.

The counter is to bubba tantrum on their downed bodies to establish dominance.

I do this a lot, too.
Yeah, gaining/losing MMR seems to matter so little I'd rather just not go for the headache. And usually survivors chill out once they realize you aren't going for kills.
-
I don't even bother killing survivors anymore myself. I'm not sure if this is considered farming behavior or not, but I only go for 8 hooks and then afterwards just maximize my points for 29.6k

May I ask why you think Piece is more fair?
I just find that interesting because I personally would think Judith's would be more fair because Piece let's you delete a random survivor and still play the game normally whereas Judith's is a playstyle commitment
Its mostly up to judith's tombstone's interaction with fragrant tuft of hair. It doesn't work with the tombstone piece. Thus enforcing the stalking penalty of the addon. Saying tier 3 takes 400% more stalk with tombstone + fragrant hair SOUNDS like a big deal, but in reality if you are a good myers you'll spend most of the game in tier 3, relatively speaking.
However I feel like if both addons were used for their purpose (Evil Incarnate achievement) that survivors could more ably appreciate the skill it takes to manipulate the stalk while using the piece more than a myers using tombstone + fragrant hair since you basically have to perfectly manage the stalk and timing to make it work.
Otherwise I see that they are both equal in being able to 99% tier 3 and instantly kill a survivor. The only real difference is how you handle which is which afterwards. Although I do wish if you were using one of these addons that his chase music would increase in intensity or something so a survivor could reasonably know that a myers is using the piece or full tombstone besides relying on an inaccurate animation... mistake? Accident? Which only applies to one of them.
-
Well see, the problem with increasing the blood point limit is that I'm 99% sure it was changed originally to prevent hackers from just giving themselves huge volumes of BP without it being suspicious.
However, BHVR has done seemingly less than nothing about hackers over the years considering the huge volume of complaints that reach the forums about them.
So in conclusion, its unlikely that the BP limit will go up because hackers are still around.
-
Between tombstone piece and judith's tombstone I would say the tombstone piece is more healthy for the game. It has strong drawbacks that can be mitigated by killer skill, but simultaneously makes Myers feel very powerful and it changes his gameplay significantly which is what an addon should do.
-
Because survivors need breakout value
-
You mean like how they nerfed pinhead's torture pillar (green addon) to be the exact same as his burning candle (brown addon) and then had to quickly change it upon the release of the PTB version to live by nerfing the candle from 5 to 3, and increasing the torture pillar from 5 to 6?
I'm 99% convinced that BHVR devs don't even know what all addons do and its somehow someone elses job to catch this crap before it goes live.
-
Honestly I was always a fan of the idea of hexes not appearing on a dull totem until they have exhibited their effect. This means they could, reasonably, be played around by the killer player because they could visually see a hex light up and skillfully deduce which of their perks has been activated based on the current factors of the match.
It would also mean that perks that are meant to be broken would always be active, (haunted grounds, retribution, undying) and are highly likely to consume very easy to find totem spots, as is tradition.

Honestly I would go for the giant batlike nosferatu version, as it is the most monstrous and has the most powers to choose from. Since you would have standard vampire lore, and now also whatever power you could think of with the beast parts.
-
Only use hex perks that are meant to be broken. This chiefly means Retribution + Plaything (maybe pentimento if you wanna stretch the aura reading) only.
I have completely dumped Ruin since Pain Resonance came out, at least if the hook spawns are janky its something I can conceivably play around with skill. You can't really play around terrible hex spawns skillfully without throwing the game most of the time.
Also IMHO Dead Dawg is the most balanced map in the game. Its small, but a few of the hex totem spawns are pretty nasty and you can get lucky sometimes. (Other times its at the wind mill/upstairs and gets broken instantly)
-
Since audio is very important as a spirit, you could make her play an audio sigh or groan or something whenever she enters passive phasing, similar to nurse when she teleports(but this would only play for the killer, obviously)
-
Her power is literally a straight line, its literally basic geometry in order to defeat her.
- -She can ignore base mechanics like walls and pallets
Yeah, that also means shes literally the only killer that you can loop out in the open with no obstacles whatsoever.
But you obviously have every right to like or dislike whatever you want.
-
Imagine how much you would have to play to get the full 2mil.
I myself only got 60k for reset between the 2 because I literally did not care to play.

No, seriously you don't wanna. People in my region are usually a very good killers. Espiecially when you live next to russia.
I love playing against new spirit, it feels so rewarding to out mindgame her. Nemesis doesn't feel nearly as rewarding with gameplay similar to dodging Huntress bus hatchets.
-
I would say maybe its time to relax your standards of what you would consider a win.
Personally I don't even bother to kill survivors anymore because gaining MMR is not a reward. I play for 8 hooks and 29,600 games.
All this has really shown me is that there are 'good' survivors in 'bad' MMR that aren't as sweaty and are usually happy to chill out when they see you are chill. And then, when you do run in a bully squad that obviously de-ranked to terrorize baby killers you can just go AFK and wait for them to very boringly do gens and cheerfully mock them while going into the next game as they get less than 10k points because they couldn't interact with you all game long.
If you are a competitive person then do yourself a service and play a more balanced game. DBD is not, nor will it ever be balanced for so long as it runs on an unrestricted map seed system. Thats before you even get into the hairy bramble of survivor/killer/perk balance.

Nemesis has other decent addons. It's just that most of his addons affect vaccines or zombies, neither of which you have any control over so they feel inconsistent.
I personally want to pull my hair out trying to get anything done on large maps; his power is a time investment, something you sorely lack in a place like Mothers Dwelling or Ormond. His tentacle is high risk and I feel the reward doesnt quite match that risk without Marvin's.
From my own anecdotal evidence, if I am forced to m1 survivors instead of infecting them, the match is likely lost. We really need to start eating pallets asap and keep up the chase pressure. Otherwise I think youd be better off playing other m1 killers like plague or freddy.
Since survivors have 4 total health states plus sprint burst, we cant afford to let them get pallet value
This is why I like to take STBFL on nemesis so it makes M1s feel not as punishing to use over his tentacle. It also helps make him hyper efficient one reaching tier 2. You save so much time breaking pallets/recovering from hits that it becomes difficult to prevent your snowball. I'm not sure how much risk there is in using it though, I think the only zoning killer with a less punishing anti-loop to ready is demogorgon with shred.
Honestly if you get used to the drag technique it makes hitting his tentacle a lot easier.

Same with bbq. Bps or aura reading, but not both. Noed also. Faster move or 1 hit
Okay easy, aura reading for BBQ because bonus BP should be a baseline mechanic anyway same for WGLF. Exposure for NOED, I don't know a single killer that runs NOED for its extra speed unless its a youtuber making a meme build.
-
The middle ground is being a good and intuitive SoloQ survivor. SoloQ itself isn't bad, the players are bad and they allow the killer to punish them for their badness. I almost exclusively play SoloQ survivor and it seems like every single match I carry the game. Most gens den, most unhooks, longest chases. People just don't want to put in the work to git gud, and its a game that they are supposed to be enjoying so I don't blame them for not wanting to turn it into a second job.
-
They are probably dumping all of their marvin's bloods before they become worthless
Even though I've never found nemesis' base mutation rate to be a problem and always used zombie speed addons for ruin value.
-

Because you want all that cool stuff but it is too expensive. So you have to play the game a lot to get BP.
Companies want you to play their game all the time, especially online games. Become invested and buy cosmetics and so on. Business.
And as this game is Steam Platinum it seem to work pretty well.
I'm pretty sure someone posted here last night with 4,000 hours played and they only had 3 characters P3 all perks. That level of grind is just obscene no matter how you slice it. There are 55 characters in the game.
@SudoK7 said:
I be happy with just removing the bp cap. It's so pointless. I'd probably have over 100,000,000 bp saved up right now if it wasn't for that cap
I think thats the point NOW so you can't just P3 all perks a new survivor/killer immediately on release, but originally the BP was capped because hackers were giving themselves like 300 million BP and other crazy numbers to bypass the original blood web.
-
I'm pretty sure it wouldn't matter if you made it more narrow at all. Since I'm almost positive that on the basement stairs, both the killer and survivors lose collision after some time rubbing against each other to prevent hostage situations that don't advance the game state.
-
I think its in an effort to reduce queue times.
Basically, a ######### game is better than no game.

Dead Hard already gives a much lesser distance compared to say Lithe or Sprint Burst. So it really already has a huge cost to having the few invulnerability frames that it has. It's a bit more of a skillful perk. The only frustrating thing is watching the survivor scream and then watching them run away. You didn't hit them but felt like it did. They are fixing that in the next patch.
It does nothing against 1-shot killers, leaving survivor with only 3 perks. That's a big downside already. Less distance. Not viable against 1 shot killers.
I'm not sure why you brought up hit validation, nobody is talking about that. Especially not me.
You say that dead hard gives less distance, this is true. However because of its skillful use, moreso than other exhaustion perks, one dead hard can enormously extend a chase in the right hands much more than a lithe or sprint burst can. Reducing the distance increases the skill floor necessary to use Dead hard 'correctly'.
Also, thank god dead hard is useless against 2 whole killers, that seems to be a feature of survivor perks. Similarly to how Iron Will can only be countered by Plague and Nemesis these days.

if they do that the perk is pointless.
I frames with reduced distance means you just get downed a second later.
Distance without iframes? There are other perks that do that better
The I-frames with reduced distance wouldn't be pointless because you could use the I-frames to dodge a hit and still get to a pallet. A survivor will just have to be more precise with their distance calculation.
Thats the point, the perk shouldn't be the best choice every time.

I've noticed that with BL it's possible to get cucked by the Killer's Lunge while they're falling, perhaps it could become a Dead Hard esque roll (lel, Dark souls roll) that offers IFrames before running into a Sprint?
Then as you say take the suppressed fall noise and hinder reduction and put it into its own Perk?
I would disagree with giving BL I-frames, the counterplay to BL really IS just to hit the survivor before they land. Its up to the survivor to judge the distance if its safe or not to make the drop.
-
Considering the intensely close proximity of the last bloodhunt, by BHVR standards, I hope this is a new trend in more frequent bloodhunts. In that case, no sarcasm, it WOULD help with the grind.

How would you buff BL while keeping all effects tied to a single trigger instance on a 40s CD while keeping it line with the theme of a Cat Burglar?
I wouldn't mind if BL was changed into 2 perks as well. Have one be the exhaustion perk, and the other be the fall reduction either all the time or on its own cooldown. Similar to quick and quiet.

Its removed long time ago. Stagger reduction only work when you're not Exhauted. Plus in all of Ex-perk. BL is the hardest to use so I think it was fair. It was just Haddon field makes this perk too OP and they nerfed it.
Yes it was removed a long time ago, so why wasn't Dead Hard ever changed in accordance with this precedent?
-
@AnObserver said:
BL applied stagger reduction while not Exhausted. It had a non-Exhaustion based benefit tied to it.
Balanced landing used to reduce falling stagger all the time, starting in patch 2.0 and ending in patch 3.4

Place a boon over a hex takes a lot of time meaning someone is not working on gens. It's a fair trade off.
14 seconds is not really that much extra gen time tbh, compared to the other 42 gen seconds that go out at the same time. (14s*3 survivors)
Considering how powerful hexes are supposed to be, they are laughably fragile. I only use hexes now that are meant to be broken. I don't bother with anything else, not even ruin anymore with Pain Resonance out.
-
I usually don't mind breaking chase until I have my 6 other hooks on the rest of the team however sometimes there is that 1 survivor that absolutely refuses to get hooked because they act like I'm going to face camp them to death (and fair, a different killer actually might) so I have to spend the 3-4 gen head start I have just downing them and hooking them twice. Which is fine to me since I already got my other 6 hooks and I was gonna have to wait for them to finish the gens anyway.
Otherwise I'll chase a survivor the whole match because they are good, better than me. So I'll chase them to see what tricks I can get out of them to use myself, or know what to do against later down the road.

This wouldn't matter at all, its been confirmed that your highest rated killer would bring your killer MMR back up. So he would have to tank the MMR of all of his killers just to practice Nurse. Devs straight up lied to our faces about individual MMR on all fronts.
As far as practicing nurse, I would recommend doing something like I did when I first started learning huntress. I wouldn't even kill survivors, I would just go around practicing shots. First just standing still, then with increasing amounts of motion to build consistency. You could equip the plaid flannel and use it in a similar way to build muscle memory.
-
I'm pretty burnt out playing DBD for sure. I usually main killer, and don't find survivor much fun at all. I don't even bother to kill survivors any more but it doesn't seem to matter because even with my supposedly low MMR I still encounter sweat squads often. (Perhaps THEY are the ones smurfing to bully low rating killers?) At the moment I'm barely logging in to maintain the dailies, but considering its only like 60k BP (30k from daily 30k~ from the match) I'm probably going to stop doing that soon too.
I might check back in when the new killer comes out, but who knows how long I'll be staying after that. As far the community is concerned, the 'Us vs Them' mentality is pretty old. You can't suggest buffs for one side without someone shooting in first comment with some whataboutism. And then when you agree that those buffs could be a good idea, the entire thread basically derails into your heretical opinion on Y when X was your original idea.
I think the thing that frustrates me the most though is the updates. I feel like it would matter less that the game is "unbalanced" if more changes happened every patch. It feels like the devs are more occupied with some arbitrary and tiring limit of balance than just making the game fun. I've said in a couple other threads, but I think the devs need to move DBD into a mode of circular imbalance. That way everything can be strong, but still have its purpose and have a mechanism to naturally push the meta change along over time because everything has an answer for it.
-
It wouldn't really matter because killer hexes do not overwrite boons currently. So you cannot use plaything/NOED/old undying to snuff the boon totems.
-
Basically, the ceiling became the floor.

"Also some people can't just buy the DLC at massively discounted rates. Please check your PC/steam privilege at the door."
Yeah, but you cant really give people extra or less because they own dbd on a different platform. You have to treat people equally on this one, and since Bubba has been out for 4+ years, 6k is quite a lot.
Personally, I would have given bubba the faces of Trapper, Wraith and Billy, but that would require a deal with the license holders since you cant just add a cosmetic to replace another one. That's not how it works.
This is how I know you are a troll. You provide an argument that counters your own previous argument. That means there was no reason for you to bring up the 50 auric cell cost at all since BHVR has to treat all players equally anyway.
6,000 iri shards isn't even enough shards to get 1 'good' cosmetic. Like yeah, I guess its 450k BP, whoop-dee-doo.
Personally I think BHVR should have doubled down on the original survivor masks and have it just be one of those things that comes out with every survivor like their twitch shirt/ugly sweater. From my view, them removing the masks is an admittance that the purpose of smartface was to be black face instead of owning that it was just a thematic cosmetic decision and that anyone who says otherwise is blowing everything out of proportion.

@Predated said:

By that logic, the prerequisite to unlock that, is to buy DBD, which costs money too, and since DBD recieves updates and is no longer the game I bought in 2016, arguably, a full refund wouldnt be amiss.
"a licensed character that can ONLY be bought with auric cells." also, false, you can buy the DLC, for quite cheap too. I've seen the DLC be as cheap as 50 cents, meaning 50 auric cells is the best you can argue, 50 auric cells isnt gonna do much.
I mean, if you decided to stop playing the game just because BHVR removed the cosmetics then I could see trying to make an argument for a refund. But you'd probably get slapped with time limitations.
Also some people can't just buy the DLC at massively discounted rates. Please check your PC/steam privilege at the door.
-
You are forgetting the color blind/deaf people that would use father's glasses to track blood. Since they removed that accessibility they probably dropped her.
-
Because people choose to believe liars than these other things they deem to be 'worse'. Like racists.
So then they believe the liars, weaponize the law against their victims, and ruin lives. All because "guilty because my feelings said so" instead of "innocent until proven guilty".
If you are going to jump into the middle of a comment chain, be sure to read it all.
-
First of all, bring back father's glasses.
Second of all, I don't really see a problem with mother-daughter ring. All it is is more zoomies, you are already fast as ######### as Spirit so being more fast really just means it takes less time for you to get around the map.
As far as it being combined with the new dried cherry blossom thats BHVR's fault. They should have made it do the thing that father's glasses did instead. At least then it would take a little more brain to track the blood.
-
The answer to your question, why I don't just accept 'lived experiences' as evidence with no actual evidence.
'Its innocent until proven guilty', not 'guilty because my experiences said so'.
-
They really should just stop nerfing stuff, just start buffing everything that is underperforming or is not being used. Let the circular imbalance sort itself out.

Ah yes, because those skins also cost you auric cells to get.
Wait, what? It's not? You could get them for free? Oh, there goes your argument.
This is a total Karen argument. This is like having a 20% coupon on a 100$ item, paying only 80$ for it, and expecting 100$ back when you return it. No Karen, you paid 80$, you'll get 80$ back.
"That would prove people that it's not just a greedy cash grab plot to make people spend money on paid skins."
Cosmetics literally exist as revenue for the developers. How is that a greedy cash grab? You dont need skins to win. Skins do not give you any significant advantage in the game and are more likely than not to be a detriment. Players choose to pay for those skins. None of that is greedy by any means.
I mean... If you want to get technical the prerequisite to unlock the skins is to buy Leatherface, a licensed character that can ONLY be bought with auric cells. So, arguably, 500 auric cells would not be amiss.
-
Honestly, not the buff it needed. Currently because you only get 5 total uses (the 4th and 5th arguably needing to be the absolute strongest uses) that means every single use has to be god tier or its basically not worth it/wasted.
They should have changed its activation requirement to hooks, reverted fixing that bug that gives you 5 stacks PER gen pop, or gave it a reasonable cooldown like say... 40 seconds.

That's the point.
Limiting ways people can cause harm to others is important as well.
This is sound reasoning and all, but where does it end? If it continues happening, are you going to go to all the stores in your area and demand they stop selling eggs? Go to all the farmers where the eggs come from and tell them to start raising other animals?
You can't ever stop these things in their entirety and all you do by removing things like this is show them that what they were doing really bothered you. So then they'll KEEP doing it. The argument being posed is that Smartface, the claudette cosmetic, is black face and there are... Reports of players being harassed by bubbas wearing Smartface.
In my own experience, I've never seen a single earnable Bubba cosmetic ever in all the time I've played the game. So honestly I might have to see the evidence before I believe it.
