  • Susie <3 but if I have to pick a survivor then Feng!

The killer can literally come back to the hook after you have been unhooked and tunnel you. So if you start working on a gen and the killer comes over to you just after you get unhooked that's to bad because its deactivated now

I got a simple soluation. Dont do a gen right next to the hook...

  • I would reduce the range from TR to 16 Meters or maybe 8 but besides that seems very cool.

    1. Try to find the weakest player of them 4, there is always one boosted player who is just a m1 legend.
    2. Use a smart combination of slugging, tunneling and camp. Dont overdo any of that.
    3. Play save and dont be greedy that means try to "hide" some perks for a better situation, imagine you have pop, dont use it on the first gen on 10% you see.
    4. And last but not least, get better at the game, experience is a huge part of it. Just keep playing, if you lose dont get frustrated and keep going, try to adapt from your mistakes and make it better next time!

This. I feel the issue on the forums is there's a lot of people saying "this is broken" or "this is op" but the truth is those players suck at the game. When someone actually tries to bring up a real issue it's hard to have your voice heard with everyone shouting.

On some topics such as Killer powers or Perks yes but in terms of Gen speed, it has been always a huge debate and its not like only forum members are talking about it, even dedicated ex killer main players such as Ardetha or a survivor main such as Zubat and many more are saying the gen speed is not fine and has never been. Dont want to say that the opinion of a streamer means more then others but these examples are players with over thousands of hours with a ton of experience behind their back so ye.

As you see... if you ran infinite mend legion, you got banned from the game, but this situation is different? disable the perk please. I'm pretty sure you can.

True but well since it affects survivors they dont care xD

That's how I feel when I play against the majority of killers slugging with perks that give them too much advantage such as Ruin and Undying and BBQ.

It's bad that a survivor perk has to be bugged to even come close to the resemblance of the power of killer perks. Hopefully Breakdown is never fixed.

D strike, Dead Hard, Unbrekable, borrow, deliverance... well I can keep going. Survivor perks are in terms of streangth stronger then killer perks applied to their role and also have less counterplay.

  • You mean just as gen rushing?

  • Agree but sadly since we are just killers complaining about it nothing will happen. Just as Legion rework, key nerf, spirit sounds or any other things that are requested for way too long. Sure some things came finally like D strike nerf but these things happen just WAAAY too slow.

  • @FancyMrB said:

Your suggestion is solid but it would still give the survivors power. Sure 2 will vote one map, and 2 will another so that only leaves killer with 2 options which of course would be the 2 most survivor sided maps. The killer would never get their ideal map.

I don't think this game can ever have a map select because of its asymmetrical nature. Plus games with map select always have the same top maps being played which gets boring fast.

We have offerings and tho they aren't a traditional map select they do work for dbd.

Ye you have a point, well in the end its just a far away idea ^^ I still wish bhvr would do something about inconsistent map picks, sometimes when you are unlucky you can land 3-4 times in a row at the same map which can be abit boring and annoying.

  • @syain said:

If each side can ban one map, I think it's cool. One question though, what happens if for example two survivors vote for a map, the killer votes for another but the third and forth survivor, purposefully or not, keep from voting? Wouldn't that still force the killer to play on said map since it has the most votes?

I would say if survivors dont vote, the votes will be randomly applied. Not sure though if that is the best way to handle it.

  • @MadLordJack said:

That's not such a great idea. Diversity is one of the biggest reasons DbD has such good player retention, removing that would hurt it a lot. And yes, such a change would remove diversity, becaus wno matter what killers would always be forces to play on the map the survivors want to, so it's going to almost cut out Dead Dawg, Coal Tower, Torment Creek, Hawkins, and Azarovs whilst massively promoting Haddonfield, The Game, Fractured Cowshed, Lery's and Midwich.

I think I didnt made it clear enough. Only a max of 2 votes on 1 map by survivors, so they will never be able to "force" a map.

  • @bjorksnas said:

No, this system is way too easily abused even by solo queue

if its a 4 man swf they only need 2 votes anyway because you only get one meaning swf are always better off and get both to decide what map to go to but get to build around it, random rotation sees visions of haddonfield on the menu, gonna bet that swf is real happy to show you a good 4 balanced landing time

solo queue sees the map choices of red forest. fractured cowshed, ormond, haddonfield available, have fun with votes 4 to 1 on maps that are now statistically 3 times as likely

    current system is fine

As I said, there is a max vote of 2 by survivors on 1 map.

Sorry I don't agree with you, but when I am a killer - map doesn't mean all that much to me; nor does them being a SWF. If I lose it's because I didn't play well enough - blaming a map or SWF isn't my thing. Back when I used to actually use end game chat - whenever I faced salty survivors or killers in chat I would tell them the same thing: Don't get bitter - get better.

I kinda agree and disagree. Yes there are some moments and situations that require certain skill or knowledge but at some points its just the games design. You can be the best Clown player in the world, literally jesus christ playing him but still lose that game because Clown just doesnt has the power to reflect your skill to the lethality. Same goes for map to some killers. You can be the best blight ever, you will lose eventuelly IF the survivors play how they are supposed to play at a well enough skill level.

  • @Jasix said:

Or instead of introducing an overly complicated system; just use map offerings.

As a killer if I think the group of survivors is going to be tough - I may use a map offering, but honestly I generally just go with RNG. Avoiding maps as a killer or survivor will not help you learn and adapt - you will just remain inadequate on those maps.

You will not always have a map offering for every single game, also there are other offerings you would like to use like bps? Also idk what you think but between maps is not a huge difference to learn, they all basicly play the same except some specific maps like Lerys.

Also I personaly dont mind RNG that much either but I had for example today a fun day with 5 times in a row rotten fields as Blight without any offering. Same happened to a friend to me yesterday, 4 times haddonfield as Killer without offerings.

  • @xenotimebong said:

And get stuck playing on Haddonfield or Fractured Cowshed every single time I play killer? Nooooo thank you.

Who says you will always get those maps to pick from

  • @legacycolt said:

How many maps would there be to choose from?

3 I wrote it at the start

  • Agree, I am still very upset of the Legion nerf. It is so unfun and atrocious to play the current Legion if you played or mained the old Legion like I have. It does suck of the devs do that, I can Imagine how the old Nurse or Billy mains feel now, and it hurts to see that.

  • Play a Killer where they dont get to teabag you. Nurse, Spirit or Oni in my case, I get most of the times 4ks before they even finish some gens and then complain in the chat of how boring it is to play against these killers^^

  • yup, i played it actually recently and its pretty fun and well made now but sadly its kinda dead, there are not that much players anymore around. But I doubt that its because of the game itsself, its just unknown.

  • Excited as hell, nemesis with rocket launcher oof

I dont think that a 2 Killer-Mode would work. (or most likely 2v8, at least this is the most common thing I read, so I will referr to this mode)

First of all, it would be a hell to balance this. Lore-wise, two times the same Killer would be strange. But you also need to avoid things like Spirit to catch people combined with Bubba to camp those to death, while still being able to apply pressure.

Then, who would play that? Obviously Killers with their friends. But do you think that any Solo Survivor would play this mode? In regular games you already have to worry about 3 people, who wants to play with 7 randoms? I can assure you, I would get a heart attack if I am on the hook and see more than 5 people urban evading around the Map.

So most likely only SWFs (either full 8 or 2 4 mans) would play this mode. And we all know how Killers love to go against SWFs. So I am pretty sure that soon after implementation, nearly nobody except for some Killers and huge SWFs would play this mode. If even those groups are playing it.

There is a game that comes in my mind. Depth, probably no one here knows that game, its unknown as hell xD but it is a 2v4 a symmetrical game and it is proably way better balanced then dbd will ever be. It is definatly possible to come up with something balanced or atleast close to that.

  • @Azshhh said:

we always focus on those 2, but alot of creatures from RE would make good killers honestly.

I'd be just as happy if the RE killer was a licker or hunter

I know what you mean, I would love to see wesker there from RE 5 but we have seen that with Silent Hill. The devs will take the most famous "creature" from the series.

I had those items before I really understood the game. This was back in 2018 when it was free on ps plus.

I see but tbh those items arent that big of a deal, I would still go for the prestige, you will get every few months in a new event anyway new items you know. Its just my opinion though

So you need to interact with all three shrines to unlock the gens?

what’s stopping the killer from camping one of those shrines and holding the game hostage?

Good point maybe let it be 5 shrines on the map and if the Killer stays long enough near to 1 of the active shrines the one that hes too close disables and another one of the 3 others non active shrines will get active instead. Basicly if he tries to camp one it will change the position. Maybe there are better ways to go against that but that was just 5min of thinking, pretty sure you can balance that thing out without much effort.

  • @DrJohn said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2032069#Comment_2032069

Because they had items that I can never get back like third and fourth year party starters

you only get those items through the bloodweb that means you spended bloodpoints and leveled that survivor to get those items, you couldve just prestige and get those items then in that prestige along with it.

  • Dead space was probably one of the best story singleplayer shooter I've ever played, I would love to see that but I wonder which of all of the necromorphs should be the Killer? I would maybe say the invincible one from part 2 at the last chapter.

New change: Trapper now has a power gauge! Each trap set completely depletes it, you may only have four traps active at a time, and the gauge takes seventy seconds to recharge!

Edit: I'm clarifying, this's sarcastic--I'm aware that it's not a great change. Still, the thought made me laugh, so I thought I'd share.

    Sounds like a horrible idea

  • Myers infinite tombstone with make your choice, noed, iron maden and haunted grounds.

Most funny thing about this is the reactions of the survivors, had some good post chats with it :)

  • Scott Jund had a interesting I dea, I would suggest something simiular like his idea but changed abit. At the start of the match all gens are blocked by the entity. The survivors have to find 3 entity shrines and interact with it for a short time (3 sec). After the 3th shrine has been activated the gens are free and survivors can start working on it.

This encourages the survivors to start going around the map and increase the chances to interact with the Killer.

In the other side it is positive for the survivors because they go around the map and can see where and how many pallets there are around the map.

Edit: I dont think a punishment for doing your job too good is a good idea, that is just frustrating and not fun. Thats why I suggest a second objective before the gen so the core gameplay (gens) stay as the same.

  • High IQ suggestion there ... I like

  • I agreee with you. Sadly BHVR doesnt give a F about that. They will probably just give him some unnecessary buffs and move on. Its not the first Killer that is weak and staying around for months/years like that. Cought LEGION Cought

  • @TheClownIsKing said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/235672/to-put-in-perspective-how-weak-the-clown-is

    🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

    BWAHAHAHA!!!

Every time I see these “Freddy vs Clown” comparisons, it just highlights just how little is understood by players trying to use Clown.

There isn’t a chance in hell that Freddy can end a chase as fast as Clown!

(Former Freddy main here. Since his RELEASE!!!)

Deathslinger is probably the strongest 1v1 killer but still he can lose very easily. Ending chases quickly doesnt mean winning automaticly. The main reason why Clown is so "weak" is his lack of map pressure or mobility in other words. They went in the right direction with the yellow bottles but they are not enough for mobility.

I have a simpe suggestion though. You get a SIGNIFICANT movementspeed boost with the yellow gas but as soon as you are in a chase the boost is at the rate as it is right now. That ensures that Clown can use these bottles to traverse the map way faster and fix his big problem.

I just like having the cosmetics and I can't prestige my survivor main because I'll lose those items.

If you planned to prestige why did you keep leveling the survivor over the max level? How I do that is, after I hit level 50 I save 1million and then prestige.

  • @Phasmamain said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2001615#Comment_2001615

More so how well their power works for dbd. Nurse is so low since she breaks the fundamentals of the game and legion since they’re just so weak

Ah I see, thx for the explenation. Well I stil stick on the decent ones still, Plague canceles Med Kits completly out and the Killer has a boring ass chase with the only 1 health state most of the time since they are just half long. Dmg vomit also is unfun to go against since there is barely anything you can do about it.

Clown has a very boring chase aswell, against a good Clown only pallets are the counterplay, you just keep drop them like you are back at rank 20 at your first game. Wraith is apperantly unfun cuz he often "suprises" you from other sides and that leads to quick downs. Same debate goes to ghostface and scratched mirror myers.

  • I dont really get what you mean with "power design". I assume you mean how fair they are?

In that case I disagree with the most. I dont get why Plague, Wraith and Clown are at the decent spot, they all got changes for a reason in the past. And future probably. Also why is nurse and spirit so low? They have well designed powers regardless of the streangh.

  • Np I was actually trying to provoke abit but not to be mean, more for the memes sake xD

Does anyone else let the last survivor get hatch or the gate? Most times in a really one sided match, that last survivor just comes up drops a med-kit or toolbox as offering then I take them to hatch or the exit gate. I do this bc I understand how it is as survivor in that situation just getting wrecked and boom last one alive, not much hope left, but it's cool seeing the killer show mercy and show them the way out lol

Well since I got perm banned for that apperantly not.

  • I kinda have to disagree even if I am a Killer main. I love getting looped, for me fun and satifaction is not of killing or hooking, it is having mindgames with the survivor I chase and trying to outsmart him, using everything that is in my surrounding or power to outplay him. So I personally love getting looped.

Gen rush is the thing I hate, sadly there is little to none you can do about that.
