Its really not that hard tracking folks in phase walk unless they are running iron will. With a good set of headphones it sounds like you're hunting an asthmatic rhino sometimes, when sounds don't bug out and not work properly that is.
If I haven't played spirit for a while it takes a second to get my ear back but a couple of games and bam you can be pretty dead on in your predictions.
Lately I get a lot of screen stutter too (I'm playing around with it but maybe its time for a new comp) so even if I zero in on a survivor I pop out of phase and stutter, swing and then see the survivor 2m to the side.
The stutter whiff is becoming my nemesis and my reason for playing more survivor even though I find it infinitely more boring.
Both these things could account for your experience.
I used to be a spirit main until Blight came out, I have more then 500 hours of pure spirit gameplay at my back, it was nothing with skill, she was following me pin point perfect every time, that is not normal, even as jesus christ himself couldnt do that.

dude why are you being so condescending lol im not even talking from a survivor perspective im literally a blight main with over 7k rush hits which im pretty sure puts me in the top 400 globally so you can come down off of your high horse my guy your not impressing anyone
neither are you, anyway. I also saw that the message came across differently than I actually meant it, in that case sry about that. But still it is weird to call the ring "too strong" then with your experience. Every Blight main I know shares exactly that opinion I just gave.
-
tbf alchemists ring is only good for map pressure but in a 1v1 chase it isnt as broken as ppl claim it to be. No one says you have to run in a straight line and build distance after a hit... especially not against a blight, instead of your typical hold w maybe use your brain and run behind good and big tiles or obstacles so the blight cant make much use of his rush.
Maybe start trying to adept instead of complain.
-
the argument of "just dont expect to get kills" doesnt make sense since we (ppl who dont enjoy high mmr) never are saying we want more kills. You cannot have fun with other perks if your games dont last even long enough to get any value out of these perks.

Yes, and Ruin became much stronger.
Ruin was never intended to be nerfed, they simply changed it so newbies dont need to learn to hit great skill checks thats the only reason. McLean also said that they wanted that ruin should have an impact on higher level play which it obviously does atm.

let me put it to you like this. say there are diamond, platinum, gold, silver, bronze level players on both sides. diamond goes against diamond. plat against plat ect.... so diamond killer are going against diamond survivors and now it has become unfun and stressful so a chunk of them are doing 1 of 2 things leaving or switching to survivor but those diamond suvivors who are winning are still playing and need matched with someone so now platinum killers are being matched with diamond survivors and having even less fun and more stress than the diamond killers cause they are not as good so they do the same there where a bunch leave or go survivor but again diamond survivors are having a blast winning all the time so now guess what, its the gold killers vs the diamond survivors. and the cycle repeats until you have bronze killers against diamond survivors. now yes you will have those that stuck it out or those that got better but they are in the minority compared to the top tier survivors being fed into the lower level killers. so eventually you will have newer/unskilled killers going against high level survivors and the game is no fun and the newer they are the less likely they are to keep playing so you wont have the new killers staying as long as they did up to this point.
Exactly thats why implement a ranked mode so ppl who WANT to sweat can sweat their asses off there but for ppl who want to play some casual games, try out new builds, have some fun with new killers etc can play on unranked mode. Its no rocket science and many other games are doing exactly this.
Also I never said I cant handle this, I can handle those games but it is not fun beeing thrown at this every single time. Even veterans want to take it easy sometimes.

Really? I don't know.
This game probably averages around 100,000 players at most times of day, if you combine Steam with Epic and console.
I'm not certain how many people use the forums, but I'd reckon it's a vanishingly small minority of this.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2715109#Comment_2715109
They tried this in Starcraft 2. It didn't work.
What happened was the tryhards would grind Ranked until they'd gotten the rank/rewards they wanted, then smurf the hell out of unranked.
Just keep in mind that the games that didn't feel 'full tryhard' for you probably involved you playing against people far less skilled than you. That was likely more fun for you, but less fun for them.
Yes but atleast ppl like this are kept busy at the start of a season and it delayed the smurfs somewhat, I know its not the full solution but atleast its helping you know.
Also no its not like I clap the hell out of ppl that are below me, I usually go easier on ppl like that and mainly focus then on getting more Bps and do challanges which means I go for 12 hook games, it is arguably better atleast for the survivors aswell.

Dude I main her and have played tons and tons of games since her nerf. Probably have a 75%-80% kill rate.
ye but killrate doesnt mean fun, atleast not for everyone, I also used to main spirit (stopped her a year ago kinda) and I can ensure you that spirit used to be much more fun and smooth to play. Now she feels very slow and clunky, obviously already before this current nerf aswell.

Here's the thing.
Before SBMM, high MMR killers/survivors would face a much wider variety of opponents. This was fun for them, because they could fool around, try oddball builds and still win handily. It's why you got those insane '100 win streak no addons' videos.
The thing is - it wasn't much fun for everyone else. It's never enjoyable to be stomped flat by someone evidently far more experienced than yourself (unless your proclivities run that way).
SBMM isn't perfect by any means, but I do think that it's a step in the right direction.
Ye you are right, that is the reason why I enjoyed dbd so much. Atleast not the majorety of my games wherent full tryhard, it was atleast a mix.
However I dont think that it is a steb in the right direction, forcing ppl to play like this. Atleast give us the choice by putting the SBMM in a ranked mode.

I kinda agree and disagree
At some point you should stop taking this game too seriously, I have some friends who should really take this advice on that it true...
however
in my case you literally cannot have fun if you run as Nemesis 2 min behind a survivor and see all gens around you pop, even if you try to stop chasing the guy and go for the next one just to see that he does the same, you can barely reach them cuz they play very well, their pathing is nearly perfect leading you always at any situation and position to a strong tile or loop where it takes a while till you catch up finally.
what I am trying to say is if you get matched with very good survivors there is no way trying to "avoid" the annoying parts of the game. Even if I try to play with fun perks, I cant come even to the point to use them cuz my games last under 8min and the survivors dont give me a chance to use them.

Killer is not fun at all right now. Killer players with high MMR are playing less and less, which forces higher MMR survivors to play with lower MMR killers, so the sweat is being felt across the board. Something needs to be done, because it's not just higher efficiency that players need to be concerned about, but also playing against things like stretch res, hacking, and SWF has pretty much stopped any fun to be had with killer.
its also not JUST swf, once survivors start playing efficient by splitting on gens, tanking hits, looping and chaining tiles very smart together then its just a nightmare. It doesnt feel like you outplay them, you wait for them to do a mistake.

It’s been less enjoyable at times for me. Seems like lately I’ve been having a lot of trouble tracking a survivor after I injure them. Not sure what the deal is there. I’ve had some pretty sweaty teams now and then but nothing like you’ve dealt with. I dont see a huge skill difference in survivors regardless of what killers I use. I’ve had to stop using my Trapper main because I just can’t touch survivors with him anymore. Apparently when MMR kicked in I was doing pretty good with him. I’ve been off my game now for awhile or something changed.
ye I mean MMR kinda forces you to play with your best addons and loadout and meta killers which is just sad.

ye true xD a really cool gimmik would be that you can pack a punch your weapon there as Nurse but it doesnt do anything, it just does the animation just 4 fun, would be so awsome.
-
well how I deal with this after 6k hours is simple.
I take a LOOOONG break. I am playing since a month mostly 7 days to die and black ops 4. I play swf sometimes with some friends if they ask me and thats it. Yesterday I actually played a few games Nemi chan but now I am not touching Killer again anymore for a while cuz its the same as you mentioned.
Its way too stressfull with very little reward. The steamroll is also my biggest issue, it feels like you have to carry a huge metal bar and if you slip off 1 time it will fall and its gone. I hate that aswell and its very tiresome, thats why the best thing you can do is just to take your time and do something else with it. I know its sad but it is what it is, I mean we start to reach a point where the majority doesnt play Killer anymore, since the que times are getting worse for survivors. Thats why join us (quitters) and dont play, the que times will get worse, eventually this will force BHVR to finally start do something.

As mentioned the LOS blockers are also a advantage for you as Killer.

There's a couple of strong windows that can spawn. One near that fancy office room and one on the top floor. And yes, you might be able to mind game some of the windows but most of said windows are connected to strong loops or pallets. That's where it becomes an issue.
And let's not forget that some killers are nearly unplayable on this map (Billy and Huntress being prime examples of this)
Oh I forgot to mention the one god pallet in the very big shower room. But besides that I wouldnt say the loops are strong, yes you can chain down some tiles which is very RNG based. You never know when you have a strong combination but you can blame RNG on any map, not just lerys.

I don't see them adding a nazi as a survivor, that's all. Maybe if they could make him the killer, but even then, it feels like they don't want to go too real with their villains, I think Doctor is the most we'll get there.
I do not know what those two words mean lol. Is it the OG versus the Origins version? If so, I'd have assumed the OG versions, they tend to go for the first incarnation of any given license.
...Except Nightmare on Elm Street, but that's the one exception.
Ye its about the OG and origins. Primis (Origins) and Ultimis (OG).
Ye could be true though, however germany calmed down with those nazi stuff in games mostly.

Huntress suffers from this being a land of tight spaces and bad hitboxes. Trickster's probably similar. Billy has his usual on-again-off-again relationship with corridor maps, where he's hard to dodge but even more limited in movement. Myers can either be a stalking god or spend the whole game trying to look at anyone...
ok thats weird? Idk I do absolutely fine as Trickster, Myers and even Huntress on this map. Guess its a matter of experience I would say, dont know, dont want to be rude btw but I dont know what else to say about that xD
Especially as mysers I am a god on this map, every game.

Lery's can be a mixed bag, most windows alone arent very strong how ever some can chain together VERY well.
How ever I will say that the map isnt nearly as bad as people make it out to be, its probably the best in door map and probably one of the prettier ones as well
agree. Ye but I would blame there the RNG for that, you can have the same terrible RNG with autoheaven where you have a dead zone heaven.

The standout example is that Pinhead's chains go potato in confined spaces, even if you can hit the shot fine and the way it's AIMED cares nothing at all for walls. The other obvious examples are all line-of-sight restricted, aside from bubba and random scenery hitboxes.
True pinhead is also a isuee, I could maybe think of Deathslinger but thats it tbh. Even huntress is somewhat fine on this map.

That's an interesting thought exercise- there are definitely maps that wouldn't work, like Tranzit (unless it were a realm with multiple maps, maybe?), but I feel like a lot of the earlier maps are definitely strong contenders.
And I'm in luck, since I've only played up to BO2 (and two maps on BO3), so I know the fitting ones!
I feel like the two best options are a slightly opened up Nacht Der Untoten, or a slightly shrunk Kino Der Toten. They're both pretty iconic too, so they're good options. I would also quite like to see Der Riese, but that's more because it's my favourite map in the series
and I'll never forgive that crappy remake.Would this come with one of the original four zombie crew as a survivor, maybe? I don't see them adding Richtofen, but the other three are fair game.
whats wrong with Richtofen?
Well the bigger question is WHICH of the 2 classic ones, Primis or Ultimis. I would prefer Ultimis, ultimis richtofen is the ######### best!

The downside: it's an indoor map and that in and of itself outright screws entire Killers over, because their powers are heavily reliant on line of sight and space; and the narrowness of the corridors makes a few others oppressive (though not as much as RCPD).
Oh, and the unavoidable god pallets strewn around the outside corridors. Or maybe they're more god pallets+? Because it's not just "you must break them so other chases can't jump over them endlessly", it's "you must break them to move down this hallway at all".
Can you give me some examples? I hear this alot about "powers require space" but I am seriously wondering what ppl mean with that. Even as Oni I dont have trouble running around and chasing survivors. Like for real, even with speed addon (akitos crutch) I dont struggle.
Also you actually dont wanna break those hallway pallets, they are not that save as you think, the vault time is aproximately the same time for you to run around, except if you play billy or blight then ofc its a different topic but on most killers its not a big deal.

What's your favorite Easter egg song?
either 115 cuz its a ######### classic or blood of the dead the remake version of mob of the dead cuz its so sad and melodic. I also really like the Voyage of despair "drowning" from elena siegman, its very calming and nice. I just love her voice tbh.

dafuq? Idk what game you are talking about but surely not dbd my friend

Kino or der Riese
But lorewise Nacht der untoten would be the best one cuz everything started there and the devs typicly use maps like this where the roots of the story started.
but for real, I am a huge treyarch zombies fan (playing since bo1), I hate cold war though, story and everything else sucks there its a disaster of treyarch zombie mode, you truly feel that jason blundell is missing, anyway back to topic, having samantha as the killer would be so sick oof.

Easy solution - dont care about stretched resolution.
Sure, it should be fixed. But it will not be fixed, at least not anytime soon. So why should I care about stretched resolution? For most cases, you dont know if the Survivor or Killer used stretched resolution and there is no way of proving it. You can only assume. And why should I get worked up on something I cannot prove anyway?
The only way to know if someone is using stretched res if they are a streamer. And most of the time I just have a good laugh if I see that Blight-player with his Blight in the lobby who is more wide than tall and think "Oh my, stretched res of doom" and thats all.
IMO caring about this is just a waste of time. You will have a bad mood without any way of changing anything about stretched res or even knowing if they are actually using it.
I mean you are right with that but the fact that you literally cannot mindgame survivors that use it is a huge deal, its not something you can ignore when you cant catch that guy unless you have blood lust 5.

Hmm, I really like most of your changes, I would do some changes tho. Let's just say that if I didn't mention a killer, I agree with that change...
So...
Wraith: This would be kinda fun, but it's just 100% meme, you should never get it, because you are quite loud, he was in good spot with longer lunge, so he was able to use his power even in chase, that nerf wasn't needed imo. His hit&run tactic got nerfed a lot by CoH, so I would rather give him buff, so he can use his power better in chase, so maybe faster uncloaking?
Pig: I wouldn't actually change her traps in anyway, it's decent slow-down. Problem is her crouch is just super weak. I would just focus 100% on her crouch. Just make her move faster and probably let her charge it faster, then she will be fine imo.
Ghostface: He needs a lot of addon changes and fix his reveal mechanic. The fact that stretch-res can reveal you over wall is stupid.
Deathslinger: He is just #########. Problem is that they need to make him unique again. He is just nothing now. He had two things going for him and they removed both. He is clumsy, worse, less unique, less fun. They need to increase sensitivity and FOV for his ADS mechanic and probably create some secondary power.
I have seen some idea about "bounty" system, where you would get rewarded for hooking specific survivor. Bounty would change to survivor who is unhooking. I am not sure what I would use as "rewards" for hooking bounty target. If you would just boost his power that is kinda Nemesis copy-paste...
Pyramid: Add-on pass needed.
Twins: So first, let you swap to Charlotte even during fatigue. I am fine that survivors have more time to kick you after you down someone, but that you have to wait is really annoying. I would also let Victor snuff boons. She is countered by boons a lot and this would help.
Nemesis: Also fix that tentacle can't hit you through window when you crouch. I can live that it can't hit over loops, but window is weird. And fix zombie AI, they get stuck all the time.
The Wraith change is rather strong and helps in chases, you know this situation where a survivor keeps vaulting a big window while you are in cloak, yes you can uncloak and try to get a hit like that but with that change you simply get close to a vaulting survivor and grab them, that is really powerfull and changes wraiths gameplay quiet a bit.
I do agree with Ghostface fixes but this is something that is kinda obvious and wanted for years, I wanted to give him some changes that many ppl dont really realize that are also important.
I agree also with pyramid but this post was mainly about change to the power not addons so ye.
ye twins also should be able to switch in cooldown, that is kinda annoying I agree.
And no that would break nemesis and throw him to the buttom of the C tier. It makes alot of sense that you can hit over a window even though you crouch, since the window has no vertical hitbox, you can also do M1 hits through windows when someone is simply standing to close, its like the window has now hitbox over them. Its just how the windows are designed, and it should be something that Nemesis should be able to do to make him powerfull in chases. He should be powerfull in chases but sucks in map pressure due to his lack of mobility, so thats a nice trade off imo.

No no no no no no no no no no no no no.
Just because you personally dislike current Legion does not mean they should pull a terrible Old Freddy level rework on them. That kind of rework only succeeds in royally pissing off anybody who loved the original version. NO killer should be ever subjected to that kind of rework outside of when they fundamentally break the game in the worst way possible.
Get out of here with that terrible, horrible, suggestion.
Also your alternate suggestion is somehow *even worse*. Fact of the matter is that Legion with a lethal Feral Frenzy in its current state is just going to down you in a set number of seconds and there isn't anything the Survivors can do about it. Old Legion actually did fundamentally break the game in the worst way possible... and you want to bring that back? No.
You have Killers that do the exact same already, what do you want to do against a Trickster at a low loop? You are 100% dead, same goes to a good blight with iri blight tag, pig with her traps. We have a good amount of Killers that have the exact same things where a survivor cannot avoid the death and ppl magicly forgot that back then when they complained about old Legion.
Also idk where you get this from that the rework was bad. The reworked Freddy is just boring as hell but not "bad" in a sense of he is broken. They also made the Doctor rework which was amazing and one of the best changes they have brought to this game in years. Also there is ofc no way to avoid that you will end up making ppl sad that liked the old version but just as you like the current Legion there are a ton of ppl who hate the current Legion, including me.
I was a old time legion main and played them every single day when they came out (without abusing the moon walk bleed out strategy and without franks mixtape), atleast the old Legion had a very fun gameplay which was something unique and refreshing, the currently Legion doesnt even had a power really.
