I don't run spirit at all since I don't have 2 completely functioning ear drums, also cause the games uninstalled but you can also just run the addon that gives killer instinct when you're in range of a survivor and not even have to worry about that.
The addon just tells you that somewhere around you is a survivor, doesnt mean you will hit them guaranteed. I managed to throw off most of the spirits I met nowdays, they cant handle at all if you do spins or other weird mindgames like switching directions last second.

I mean, you can play Nemesis at high level with little understanding. Will you do well? No. Is he among the easiest to play? I'd say yes.
I wouldnt say so, atleast none of my friends do well with him at all xD most of them try the standart whips and miss half of them. I rarely see any nemesis at all that try to hit over obstacles, it seems like hardly anyone knows that its possible.

Nemesis is rather simple to pick up in my opinion. Tentacle dragging is something that increases the ceiling. But he has the quickest and simplest M2 anti-loop compared to the other "M2 at pallet/window for hit" killers. Shred and Punishment of the Damned (Demogorgon and Pyramid Head respectively) are both slower and have more wind-up, and Deathslinger is harder to play because 110% and can't always hit across pallets. And zombies are usually unreliable garbage, but they can provide some passive pressure if they happen to be near a gen someone is trying to repair that doesn't need any help from the killer.
Keep in mind, my list isn't about how good the killer actually does, it's just about how easy the killer is to play at a minimum level of understanding.
ye but my post is about the killer playing with the top skill level against top survivors.

Highest skill floor: Nurse, Blight, Pinhead, Hillbilly
Lowest skill floor: Trapper, Wraith, Freddy, Nemesis
In my opinion.
Nemesis what? why? xD
-
@gilgamer said:
i would say the least skill required would be spirit, literally just have functioning eardrums and you'll do well especially with some of her more cracked addons, most is probably nurse or blight to actually do well with without being perk reliant.
sounds like you only play spirit for dailys and get baby survivors who run straight and camp pallets.
-
Its pretty random I guess
I took a month break of Killer and now I am playing again and got the last 3 days pretty chilled games just 3 super sweat games (actually 10min ago also a super sweat game that used badham map offering and ofc abused the ######### out of this map with boons).
However I cant tell if the MMR adjustment of "taking extended breaks and your mmr is lower" is secretly already in and now I am climbing back up.
-
@PlayTwink said:
Pinhead's gateway requires the highest possible skill cap. Successfully double aim if you want to get something from your power. Even though the reward is not that great like nurse's.
The lowest propably spirit. She has no movement speed cooldown after using the power and can use it like whatever she wants (map traveling, hearing the footsteps in order to catch survivors) One of the most easiest killers to master.
You are right with both.
However you are also wrong with Spirit. Yes if you look it only in the Spirits point of view her power would be easy to master since there is not much to learn, just use power run fast and catch up. However thats why I seperately mentioned that, against GOOD survivors. If you play against very attentive survivors that can fake and run really well then just hearing and catching up isnt enough to down them as Spirit.
Good survivors can mess up with your tracking really well, do mindgames and spin you pretty easily right before you appear, since you can hear now the spirit in phasewalk they know when you are close enough and can prepare a move to throw you off like changing the direction or run around a obstacle and hide for a second to get an opening to build distance. There are many more moves you can do ofc.

But you never asked which is harder to master. You said which killer needs the most skill to do well against good survivors. It takes a lot more skill to get a 4K against a good SWF compared to the skill it takes for a nurse
Well then its my fault for wording it wrong, but everyone else took it the way I meant so ye xD. I meant about the power itsself rather then the "win".
-
A Leshen or just simply Eredin as Killer. He could have a ranged ice ability, like the one on the boss fight where he puts his sword on the ground and ice rays shoot at you.
Or Dettlaf from Blood and Whine, he was such a cool character, one of the most epic boss fights I have ever played.
man you bring my memories back witcher 3 is just way too good of a game xD

But the pallet vault interaction can already have been initiated even though the survivor still looks to be standing at the pallet. Those instances do make for silly-looking situations where the survivor will seemingly just stumble through the pallet break, but they are expected behaviour given that these abilities prioritize pallets.
Well I still dont mean the vault action, even though this is also annoying. If a survivor is standing very close to a pallet and you go for a demon dash hit, sometimes your camera automaticly flicks ot the pallet and destroys it, even though the survivors didnt do anything, simply just standing near to it. This also happens on breakable walls btw.
-
@Impartiality said:
Legion since his probably the worst killer so needs the most skill to do well
Well not really. Beeing weak doesnt automaticly mean its hard to do well with a Killer. It also depends on what the power needs you to do and learn. Every single Killer shares the basic M1 Killer gameplay, even nurse to some extend, so what you need to learn on Legion is already required for every other Killer aswell, ontop of that you need to learn their unique power aswell so this makes already most other Killers harder to master.

Bubba is pretty much Bamboozle window and they are forced to drop the god pallet in shack or you can do some pretty neat mindgames with him.
Ye true but even bubba mains still need to be cautious with the hitboxes on some objects. There are some very dumb things you need to learn and get a feeling for it like sharp corners or random invisible walls like on yamaoka those small wall window loops, those random leaf things on top have also hitboxes so you bump into them. There are many more other things you need to know thats why I wouldnt call bubba one of the easiest killers, well unless you just face camp xD

@zarr said:
Special attacks that can break pallets registering on pallets rather than on survivors sliding over those pallets doesn't necessarily have to have anything to do with validation: if a survivor has started into the pallet vault interaction, a special attack will prioritize the pallet break, and I'm pretty sure this still relies on the killer perspective - the survivor has to have started into the pallet vault interaction on the killer's end in order for the attack to prioritize the pallet. I couldn't yet confirm this because it's not always obvious from the killer perspective whether a survivor has started into the interaction (the "interaction" starts before the survivor is actually sliding over the pallet), but I could confirm that it doesn't depend on the survivor perspective, since there were still instances of the survivor getting hit despite on their screen long having had initiated the vault interaction. So it has to either be based on the killer or server perspective.
In the past these special attacks (mostly just Billy's chainsaw at that time) could still register on survivors well into the pallet vault, but there were also issues of rare instances where the attack would register on neither of them. BHVR went a bit back and forth on it, and for some time these attacks would register on both the survivor and pallet, but I think with more and more abilities that can break pallets entering the game, the devs at some point decided that it would be unfair to favour the killer entirely, so now the attacks prioritize the pallet. (Or maybe it's that way simply because they decided it was the easiest solution to deal with any issues that may otherwise arise for all those abilities in those instances.)
Either way, here's a tip: If you angle your attack away from the pallet such that it is not within the "break zone" of said pallet, the attack will still register on the survivor even if they've long started into the vault interaction. Depending on the angle you approach the pallet from this might not be possible of course, but not seldomly it is, and especially as Blight who can obviously change the angle of his attack mid-rush.
The thing where Dead Hard validation can prevent an attack from breaking a pallet it otherwise could have is something BHVR is apparently looking into.
I am not talking about while survivors vault. I mean if someone is simply standing next to it.

They did not move Clown out of bottom tier.
Doctor's rework was good.
Legion's design is fundamentally flawed. I can explain more if requested.
Doctors rework also let him at the same spot, nothing much has changed about him? Yes it was good but also didnt made him stronger.
Well I wouldnt call it fundamentally flawed, it was obvious what BHVR planned to create with Legion. McLean also said in a stream that the "disguise" thing in the trailer was just made up from the trailer team, the plan from the devs themselves was to have a "running" killer that is just as swift as Survivors, and they obviously hit the nail with it. Is it good? No. Is it fun? Arguably. The point is they had a intention and brought it into the game so therefore it cant be "fundamentally" wrong. We the players have different wishes and hopes, we just want fun and creative Killers, and the devs are obviously trying to make fun and creative Killers.

No, he needs a rework.
His design is bad. Also, really? We're gonna use the CLOWN rework as a positive example?
tbf the yellow bottles are really fun and pretty good. They ONLY suck because you have just 4 bottles and they share each other, this only makes them appear "weak". If BHVR would use their brains and seperate them or increase the base bottle count then the yellow bottles would have finally more room to shine.
-
True with the nerf xD

@ZFennecFox said:
I personally love his current concept before BHVR had the bright idea to change them. I would love to see it become a Token based system. Each time a survivor is struck while in Frenzy fills the bar for a second time after the bar is filled Feral Frenzy activates and each strike can damage for one health state. If a survivor enters the Dying state while Feral Frenzy is activated it goes on cooldown for however long the bar was when the survivor was downed.
Basically you hit survivors in Frenzy to build up a charge when that charge is full you enter Feral Frenzy and have a certain time similarly to Oni to down survivors. If a survivor is downed in that time Feral Frenzy resets to Frenzy with the charge left over.
I like the idea but I think this would be too frustrating to play against since there is basicly no counterplay in frenzy.

@FreshCoal said:
He needs a complete rework. He is easily the weakest killer in the game, and is extremely boring to go against. Since he has no power against an injured survivor, its very easily to loop him for multiple minutes if you are in a decent setup. And if you aren't getting ez loops on him, then you just hold m1 on gens and leave in 4 minutes.
His trailer teased him as a stealth killer that could transform into a survivor. Even if they dont do that, I hope that they make some way to have all 4 legion members in one map at a time.
Ye you hit the nail with all that. Although I like the "run" gameplay style of Legion.

Lagswitching is still possible. Only it is not really possible to be exploited on the killer side anymore since they will get overruled on pretty much all of their hits at ridiculous latencies like that (thousands of milliseconds worth).
Players can still abuse lagswitches on the survivor side, and this Jill was definitely doing it. What you are seeing here is Jill activating her lagswitch while she's on a gen, and then while running. What this does is that the server is not receiving info on her client state anymore for some time, and it will simply keep her in whatever state she was in last and continue that action like it normally would (extrapolation). So the Jill you are seeing repairing that gen and running in a straight line is a phantom, on her end she moved somewhere else entirely after activating the switch.
As you can see, you still get the hit confirmed on her, but obviously this is still giving her an advantage. Lagswitches on the survivor side can also be abused to lock killers into animations.
You were facing a cheater. Servers should just timeout players after more than a second of not receiving client info (or only partial info, because I'm pretty sure some of these people are also using things to limit bandwidth in order to induce latencies due to packet queueing). Currently I think it takes like 5 seconds of no info for the server to terminate the connection.
Ye exactly, I have been told it is different on the survivor side thats why I said that.
Btw I just met her again a few min ago, again same thing, she was teleporting around. She tried to abuse that by lagswitching to hooked survivors and teleport away, I played smart and could even down her but sadly I was dumb enough to pick her up, I was stuck in a infinit animation and she wiggled off and then just teleported herself to the exit. I still got a 2k though even though they where playing with an literal hacker. She also wrote in the endgame chat so she is most likely on microsoft store or epic games.
I wish BHVR would just ban ppl like that but well...
I have that on record again so if you want I could upload it for you so you can take a look on the second game and confirm that.

Are you sure it's not possible? Because every once in a while, I'll still get a survivor whose ping suddenly shoots through the goddamn roof every time I try to pick them up and returns to normal at any other point in the match.
Ye thats a hack, I dont know too much about that but lag switching is connected to the host of the game. Back then before dedicated servers existed in dbd the Killer was always the host of the lobby, which means the survivors where connected to his connection. Lagswitching is basicly a program which decreases your bit rate of your connection with a "button" or "switch", it can be a literal switch in real life or you bind that to a key on your keyboard or mouse. Then you basicly press it and your ping goes through the roof, then you press it again and goes to normal.
What you mean is something else but pretty simiular.
-
@Laluzi said:
Looks like a lag switcher. Her ping was fine after she teleported the second time, plus she seemed to know what she was doing with the tbag.
true about the tbag but lag switching isnt possible anymore, it works only if you are the "host" of a lobby which dbd doesnt use anymore. However there are other ways to do that, but its difficult.

Inner workings of the game? You realise it’s been proven that all hits apart from things validated are killer sided. The devs even confirmed this.
So guess who’s the has no idea how the game works.
Killer sided doesnt mean it favors him lol. What they actually said is because the Killer is the "shooter" he gets the priorization at the start but THEN the server checks it and confirmes the hit. You can see that on the Dead hard or through pallet hits refunds, where the survivors screams, there is blood on the screen and all but the survivors isnt hit.
-
@Vampwire said:
Because the validations were made so that killers don't get cheap hits because of latency. I don't know if u were there for it but it was pretty common to die after dropping a pallet because someone had bad connection. The new hit validation isn't perfect but it is necessary. The feedback can be confusing and annoying, but also, you didn't actually hit that survivor. What you see on your screen isn't what they see. Hit validation prevents u from getting hits that u didn't actually get. It uses a net code to determine if a hit connects or not. If the net code decides that the conditions don't meet for you to get a hit, then you don't get it. It's simple.
I know killers have a hate boner for survivor, but they have to enjoy the game too. And before someone says it, killers have a lot of broken stuff too, whether u want to admit it or not. I'm only putting this here because I know someone will say something about how survivor fun shouldn't be thought of because booli squads or whatever.
I play since the Beta so I am well aware of the gameplay before the hit validation. Just as @ThiccBudhha mentioned, I also got only downed through a pallet if I was greedy or didnt had just enough distance. I still do or get those type of hits sometimes, more rarely but they still exist.
It is even worse now, I actually met yesterday a Oni that was playing on switch I think or atleast was VERY laggy on console, he literally hit me and my teammates from 5-10 meters away and we all died cuz he kept hitting us at mindblowing distances and we couldnt respond to it. So ye no if you connection sucks you still have a massive advantage.
Also Idk what you are trying to say with this argument? I never requested to disable survivors hit validation, I also want it for Killers thats it.
-
Hm some things are okey and cool but also there are a lot of changes that dont make any sense and straight up kill the according perk or addon like Mother daughter ring, Alchemists ring, Tinkerer or Hag nerf. Same goes the the Basement change? There would be no reason at all to go for the basement with 2 entrances.
Also some buffs would make these according perks completly busted like Lightweight. The Exhaustion change and Locker change are also very weird? Locker saves are very hard and exetremly skill full, there is no real reason to remove them. The exhaustion change would provide just boring gameplay for longer repairs.
If the Deathslinger would be a fast Killer that would make him pretty busted and very boring in a chase, he is already still to this day annoying to go against and this would just encourage it.
The Trickster change would do the same, just provide very unfun gameplay, there are already a lot of situations where you are in a unsave loop against him and you will just die and you cannot do anything to prevent that, with the lullaby change this would just increase the amount of these situations and would make trickster even more unfun to play against.

Maybe because it has something to do with the idea that pallets and vaults have more interactions that "just a pallet stun" or "just a Dead Hard". I think vaults an dropped pallets are handled the same way and a "hit validation at vault" could be problematic with hitboxes extending through the window and other not having that property.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2744179#Comment_2744179
I am still waiting for Nemesis or Onis ability to slam a survivor through a pallet like a WWE powerhouse. Destroying the pallet AND insta downing the survivor...
Ye I also wonder why nemesis cant do both. Atleast maybe make it a T3 bonus? That you now can destroy and hit survivors at the same time.

Sometimes neither happens and I just get the same animation Oni gets when he hits a wall, a short stun with neither the pallet broken nor the survivor injured
Probably you tried to hit the pallet from a too sharp angle. I recommend there to always do a big spin kinda like a 180 and then face in the last second the pallet straight, its always the savest way to destroy pallets like that.

Exactly, idk why this takes so long for BHVR to implement that tbh or if they even considered it.

Iri tag is balanced.
The risk is to do 4 bounces before you go for hit. So once blight reveals iri tag, survivor can expect it and work around it. You just have to count bumps
Some hits you cannot avoid, but I dont see it as broken addon
If the Blight runs a undetactable perk like Tinkerer, Vigos jornal (make up any of the other stealth perks) there is no way for you to count the bumps if the blight comes to your gen across the map.

Sure thing, I consider Iri seal on plague pretty insane, you can camp the person till hook death since gens WILL pop every few 30sec so you will basicly have constant red vomit for the entire 3 hook stages.
Iri Blight tag is insane on a good blight.
Insta hatchets are still to this day really annoying on a good huntress.
Silent bell wraith on indoor maps.
Iri stone trapper, or bloody coil, both in combo are also nasty, especially on basement trapper.
There are more pretty sure.
*Edit: Keep in mind that I am not denying that alchemists ring is not a strong addon, it is one of his best indeed, but it is not broken or op, it offers a ton of counterplay.

a lot of players still shift w instead wiggle on rush for dodge.
Standing at car/rock pallet knowing they will get hit by hug tech etc.
For me Blight is most satisfying as how easy to rush past them is always a baited DH
Exactly, I play way more survivor in the past few weeks and every time I encountered a good blight I could easily play around his Alchemists ring, I would even say Blight tag is actually a problem but not the ring. There are addons on Killers that are way worse than the ring tbh.
