Demogorgon could definitely get some of his Add-ons reworked, as most of them are mediocre at best. One change I'll add is that Demogorgon now has 2 button promts when trying to teleport. Other hold the Active Ability button (same as current Demogorgon) to teleport, or hold M1 to teleport and break the Portal you entered, similar to Rotten Pumpkin. This'll make sure that Demogorgon has an easier time controlling his Portal amount
I never really had the feeling when I want to destroy the portals, I feel like having this as an addon is already fine enough.

No that is not true at all. Legion is not weak because he cannot get more than 1 hit with Frenzy, or of the fatigue or anything else. Legion is so weak cuz he has no ability to down survivors, this is the most important aspect of any Killer... to down and therefore end chases quickly.
You can slow down and injure as many survivors as you want, it will mean nothing if you cannot down and hook them.
Legion needs something like a second ability OR frenzy should be able to down somehow survivors.

It's not like people doing the art/audio assets are the ones who do gameplay changes. You could, shockingly, do both.
Agree but BHVR still never managed to do something like this 😂

I agree with most of those, except Pyramid Head. But what can I expect: PH is the most over-hyped killer in the game. Everybody loves to pretend he's S-tier but they don't actually play him.
If you want a good change, how about any of the following:
- The width of his shockwave is increased by 50% and every tile affected remains a damaging status (like nemesis tentacle)
- The cool down for missing a shockwave attack is reduced from 2.25 seconds to 1.5 seconds (the normal cool down for a missed attack)
- Increase the duration of Trails of Torment remaining in the environment (from 1 minute up to 3)
- Remove the turning restriction when the sword is in the ground
- REWORKING THE FULL SUITE OF HIS ADDONS. PH has the worst addon selection of any killer in the game and they have never been changed, despite him being nerfed four times and all his perks being changed.
- Edit: Oh yeah, how about removing the "The killer's power will hit these spaces" big red warning light that only survivors can see and is a unique in-game nerf to his move that no other killer has to suffer dealing with?
I actually have around 300+ hours in Pyramid head, I do really enjoy him. Maybe its just my personal preferance but I do like his current state, maybe the cooldown of a punishment hit can be adjusted but I dont think its really necessary, but the cooldown of a wave (punishment) should be longer than a hit cooldown imo.
The duration of the trails dont really matter tbh cuz after some time they will annyway dissapear due to the limiation of the amount of trails that are available on the map.
The turning restriction isnt really a problem, I never had any issue or situation where I wanted that tbh.
I agree with the addons but since this post wasnt about addons I didnt include it.
-
@Hannacia said:
Ghostyboy needs a little bit more than that. Other than that everything sounds good. His addons are mostly useless and his power is broken way too easily with people abusing streched ress. Stalked survivors can easily just loop him until the effect wears off.
For legion i think it would be cool if the other members would be on the map just like nemesis zombies.
I do get what you mean with Legion but that doesnt fit at all to their story. Legion is just a "play dirty to get to your goal" type of character so a power with multiple ppl isnt the way to go, FF is a nice direction but still needs massive changes.

@SkeletalElite said:
The change twins needs is for the ability to switch back to charolette during victors fatigue and to have no wake up fatigue when doing so, same as when victor is kicked. This avoids the painful 8 seconds of fatigue after downing someone if you decide to hook them and rewards the twins for NOT slugging. BHVR got their original nerf wrong. Twins players weren't slugging because it was ecessively effective. They were slugging because they ate a 3 second fatigue into another 3 second fatigue after getting downs with victor for not slugging, and only a 3 second fatigue for slugging.
By allowing the twins to avoid this insane (now 8 second) fatigue by choosing not to slug, it gives them some massively needed QoL fixes a lot of their issues with picking up survivors before you're physically able to do anything about it and incentivizes not just being a slug lord, all things the twins needs badly.
As for blight, I have no idea what stretched res has to do with blight, and I am blight main with 15k lethal rush hits.
Billy I kinda want them to shorten the cooldown after ending a chainsaw without a hit a tiny bit or adjust the speed curve during the cooldown to speed up a little quicker.
For deathslinger, I don't see why you would want a 32 meter lullaby over 32 meter tr. You can hide or reduce your TR with perks or use perks that affect survivors within your TR more effectively without having a lullaby and keeping the big terror radius.
Ye twins was tricky but I believe that Twins may need way bigger changes rather than small ones thats why I gave them small cooldown changes for now.
I personally believe that Blight is almost perfect as he is, he only needs addon changes at best thats why I just added the stretched res in cuz there is literally nothing else wrong with this killer.
And I actually meant that Deathslinger should have a 24M Lullaby, not 32M.

I don't know much about how stretched resolution works, but isn't it a setting on your PC? So the game can't detect those kind of things?
Ye but its not about detecting it, its actually used if you have a way too small screen or a way too big one, you know those really big curved TVs, some ppl play on them for some reason. So thats why this option exists, to change the resolution of the game so it fits to the huge TV which is totally fine, but some ######### use this on purpose to stretch the screen so they can look over walls and other tiles with that, same for killers, some killers stretch it so far to the sides so they can look without even turning the camera, which is pretty insane on killers like blight and nurse.
Any other game has an option in which changes the resolution automaticly to fit the resolution you change, but dbd doesnt has it for some reason, thats why I am requesting it to implement this option and that would fix this problem immidiatly.

Do you have a link? Because I seem to remember one of the devs specifically posting a while back that they did consider it an exploit and Dowsey commented that they told Fog Whisperers not to do it.
P.S. If they don’t consider it cheating they wouldn’t close a thread on it over that. But they do close threads where someone explains how to cheat or encourages cheating, so if that was the case it could explain why a thread was closed on the topic.
sadly I couldnt read too much on the thread, I was about to comment something before it got closed cuz I wanted to answer the OP first and then read comments :C

Over 500h Nemesis here:
The hitbox consist of 2 boxes. The first half from your character towards the first 1-2M and then there is a small cut and the second half starts until the end, the tip of it. The hit has also a "travel time" which means it will actually hit or damage a split second later then the moment you press the button which means you still have a moment to adjust your hit. Keep in mind that it works ONLY with the second half of the hitbox (the tip) not the closer part, its like Pyramid head, the close hitbox has a faster travel time than the further part.
It is actually possible to do the tentacle hit before the dead hard animation and STILL hit, even now with the dead hard validation. Its because of the small cut in the middle of the 2 hitboxes what I explained earlier. So if the survivor is exactly between those 2 hitboxes and you strafe WITH the dead hard direction, either the first or second half can hit them after the dead hard, dont ask me why that works, its just BHVR.
In the end, you dont have to worry about the split hitboxes, just keep in mind that the hit needs a split second until it actually hits.
Also you can ONLY whip over obstacles with the second half of the hitbox, which means you have to basicly stand right infront of the object and then it will hit over it. Also keep in mind that the whip also has a horizontal hitbox which means survivors CAN crouch behind obstacles to avoid a hit, for example behind a auto heaven car, so keep in mind about that.
Extra tips:
The hitbox is VERY thinn, you can hit between very small gaps like on the autoheaven car, the car has some random stuff on its back right? Like a engine and other trash, you can actually whip between the gap of the engine and the backwindow of the truck. Nemesis is a try and error character, just get used to the delay of the hit and try and learn where you can whip through and where not.

It is true.
I stand by my statement.
They have done nothing to help with THE GRIND. I literally said in my first sentence the problem is not rate of gain.
ye but then in the last sentence you mentioned the cakes as a "catch up" so thats why I thought you didnt realize the other ways to get more bps that has been added
-
Consindering Bps are way easier these days to obtain I do agree that the base game BP gain is way too low for this current time. I always thought that the BBQ and WGLF bps effect should be baseline for both sides, and also they should rework some of the BPs gain ingame, like why do you only get 1,250 for 1 gen? Or just 300 for a hit? They should increase some of the things imo.
-
I mean you kinda go overboard with it but you are kind of right. Dead hard is not anymore a "press E before the swing" its now a "wait for the animation to swing then press E" which is absolutely retardet. Killer is STILL stressfull these days but dont pretend it wasnt like that before, it got even less stressfull with our fancy new anti gen perks.
Yes hit validation is anti killer atm and Killer isnt really the mode of having fun, its more like a stress test for your brain but we got over time more and more changes that helped the Killers. I'd say go take a break and come back a few months or so. Thats even better that way cuz then survivors have even longer que times :) Thats how you get your revenge, they are already complaining, if more killers stop playing then you can show BHVR that way that Killer still is not fine atm.
-
@WesCravenFan said:
The problem is not the rate of gain. The problem is the fact that the grind is a mountain that just keeps getting taller with every new chapter. We have been tossed literally nothing to help with the grind in.... well, ever.
The closest thing I got was the Anniversary Cakes to play "catch up", and I still need so much BP it wouldn't even cover Elon Musk's annual taxes.
That is not true at all, dbd has implemented ALOT of ways to gain BPs these days. Sure its not the end solution but they are trying to give us more Bps compared to back then. You have now:
- Every event grants you some sort of way to gain extra Bps, if its a double blood points event, offerings (cakes or halloween event) or ingame actions like the snow mans atm.
- We have the Tome where you can do extra challanges that give you a decent amount of Bps, from 15k-60k each challange.
- Dailys give nowdays WAY more bps than it used to, back then you got 10k for a daily, be happy with your 30-50k dailys today.
- And they release some codes every month or week here and there for free 100k or more Bps
Again I dont say the grind and Bps gain is perfect and doesnt need change but it got improved over time and they are still working on it.

Ranked mode wouldn't really fix anything.
It would work if they create some crazy rewards to make people want to be sweaty there.
You think SWF that want to bully killer, would go for ranked? No.
But I don't think it is good idea to create new modes. Just waste of time that can be used better. You can't really get away with this in Asymmetrical game. You need exact ratio of killers and survivors, which could be screwed by new modes. Lobby queue can already get crazy enough.
It is possible to do it considering the asymmetrical aspect. Just like overwatch had issues with the role que dbd can add also extra rewards for the role that is more needed currently. For example if we have today too few Killers playing then add some idk 20k extra bloodpoints after finishing a match as Killer.
And exactly, in the rank mode you can give shards as rewards or even outfits. They could do it simiular like world of warcraft does, with higher MMR you can buy specific "Elite" or in dbd's case "Iridiscent" outfits that are ONLY for high specific MMR available.
Does it fully fix the problem? No
but atleast it helps, in world of warcraft arenas you have atleast WAY less smurfers or ppl that are high rank and play on low ranks on purpose compared to other games like league of legends etc. Also this is not something crazy to do for BHVR, they just have to make extra outfits that should look ofc amazing for every season (month) and thats it. I dont see any reason to not implement it.

A easier example the Shack. It used to be completly made out of butter and you would slide every time of every wall but NOW in this current patch the corners of the shack have a bump collision where you just bump into. So if you now hug tech at the shack without scooth sliding then you will 100% bump at the corner.
-
Ye true aim assist is ######### annoying but we all know that the devs dont even know this exists.
-
@bjorksnas said:
Are you sure its not just a different rock loop
yes I am sure, its easy to recognize cuz the trees are in the same exact spot.
Also its just 1 single example, there are way more loops where you can see that. I play alot of Blight and therefore I have my muscle memory trained on specific loops to where I do my hug tech and where not, so sometimes I suddenly bump at a spot where I am not used to bump.
Ofc this could be a coincidence but I also have other friends who play Blight alot and they all confirmed this to me that loops change over time and got different bump collisions over the time.
-
After 6k hours of the playing the same game I do get abit bored since nothing major has changed over the time.
Yes DS is finally nerfed, Coop repair speed is slowed down, you have more and better anti gen perks but the same issue is there since 5 ######### YEARS.
This example applies ONLY to high MMR and good players:
The first hook will take you always, every single time up to 3-4 gens. Every survivor runs full stacked meta perks with insane purple med kits that can heal them up in under 20 seconds. There is no way you can build up some decent pressure. The objective of the survivors is already almost done but you just started with yours. Now you have to struggle for your life and play pin point perfect to keep up your little pressure with this 1 single hook you get, if you make 1 mistake the game is lost immidiatly.
Now keep in mind that this is an example against a very high skilled swf team and I am aware that you dont face those teams every game. However you CAN face them regardless of which Killer you play and I am not a person who enjoys playing the same Killers over and over. I am someone who switches up the perk builds or Killers to try out new interesting things and THEN when you encounter such a team as lets say a Nemesis with Coupe de Grace then you have very very low chances of winning and this game is already over the second you load in.
Yes you can tell yourself "well they where prepared to win and you where not, load up the next game and lets go". But this is not my point, the thing that annoys me about this is that those teams are a garuanteed loss to you UNLESS you play also fully sweaty with a meta Killer and insane addons.
Also I am someone naturally who is pretty good in games, also in Dead by Daylight so I have a very high MMR on every single Killer, so my chances to meet those teams are way higher than from a regular person. This is the problem I have, I understand that I should face sweaty teams cuz I am sweaty myself but I dont want to tryhard and sweat every single game, I also want to play chilled sometimes which the MMR denies me that so therefore I stopp playing Killer and currently I am playing 7 days to die, its a great game btw the new alpha 20 patch is hella fun, you should go try it out.
What would be a simple solution? Ranked mode
-
@YukariTheAlpaca said:
I tunnel because it is almost always effective. I do not need to play how others want and I could care less if a survivor criticizes me for how I killed them in a PVP video game.
True, thats also a weird thing, why do survivors think ppl care about how they think you played xD
-
Tbf if I have a game where I just want to go for chases, the game ends in like 5min and survivors write then "ez gg baby killer".
So ye I switch then to a mean gameplay and 4k slug or proxy camp or tunnel and then everyones crys that the killer actually kills, its more of a double hypocriticism. Killers want to chase but you survivors dont give them the time to do it, so there is nothing else to do for us simple as that.
If you want to get chased then dont smash those gens like there is no tomorrow.
-
You are kinda right but in the other hand not. The majority myself included just wanted also a sprint ability for him since its one of his biggest most iconic abilities about him. He is a constant threat because he can catch up to you always at any time once he chases you but in dbd he is a slow poke and you can take a nap until he finally arrives to the survivor.
-
Tunneling, Camping and Slugging is just a thing as doing gens or using dead hard. I dont get it how ppl cry about it, its just childish.

Survivors shouldn't be able to play around everything the killer can do. Deathslinger was unique with his chases and had good 1v1, as did Spirit, which is why they got nerfed because they required survivors to think.
I disgree with Deathslinger but agree with Spirit. I have nothing against Spirit beeing able to force survivors to think but on deathslinger it has nothing really to do with think cuz the deathslinger could shoot you at any second 24/7, this has nothing to do with thinking. Meanwhile the you see that the Spirit phasewalks so you just have to "prepare" or think about it for a specific time and then she has a cooldown on the phasewalk where you can play normal again, so its a up and down. However on deathslinger there is no cooldown whatsoever so you had constantly to be aware which was just very annoying.

That's easy, I don't think Sloppy is good perk neither.
And sloppy needs just a hit, doesn't matter if that survivor leaves chase, so you are going to use it way more than gift of pain. I would say on average, sloppy is going to give you more time than gift of pain.
You don't need to care about RNG hooks with Sloppy, you can use basement hook with sloppy, you can leave a chase with sloppy after first hit.
Main issue is, there are two ways how to deal with gift of pain and both are way easier because of CoH. When survivor self-heal, only his extra time is wasted, so already 50% down, after he healed, just go for protective hit, this way you can waste killer's time and you remove slow-gen effect, then you are free to self-heal again.
I mean you are right but you forgot 1 important point. Sloppy applies only on basic m1 hits. Killers like Blight, Huntress etc cant get that effect as easy as you say. So therefore you got gift of pain.
Sure its not the super meta perk of this year but its a new sloppy version which is a nice idea. Its not like this perk is making you lose this game or something so I dont mind it at all, there are far more useless perks then that.
-
what makes you think this perk is bad lol? Its a sloppy effect for free plus gen speed recution

To be honest, the only nerf Deathslinger got that I was OK with was the added delay between having his gun up and lowering it and being able to M1 again. I always found his ability to freely tap M2 to get the Survivors to start dodging and lose distance to be really dumb. So... I personally didn't do it. I'm glad they nerfed that... I'm just... not happy with anything else they did.
Agree, I think maybe lowering the cooldown just a little bit would be justified to make it feel more smooth though cuz currently it feels like the deathslinger is trying to aim with an ######### anvil instead of a gun.
-
Thanks for the explanation, I did also try to tell ppl how that works but it is kinda hard to not get too technical, however you did it very well! And all the relevant ones on that list have to commit to that fake. Huntress has a cooldown before she can M1, Demo has to commit way more to a "shot" than anyone else on the list except Billy, Phead has a cooldown before he can M1, Doctor shock isn't damaging so isn't relevant, Billy has the Overheat mechanic (lol) but more importantly has to commit more because using his power hurtles him forward and missing is more punishing, Plague vomit isn't damaging (or it is but at that point the fake also incurs a cooldown + slows her), Trickster got given a cooldown before he can M1 (noticing the pattern?), and Pig... I guess technically Pig can fake an ambush, but that isn't quite the same thing, you can't make survivors lose distance by repeatedly faking an ambush due to how slowly she moves.
None of that to say the devs didn't overkill with the nerfs that Slinger did get, but the examples you gave actually support the ADS fake nerfs.
Wish I could explain things like that xD That was what I had in my mind but just didnt know how to word it rip.
-
@FFirebrandd said:
Alright. In terms of raw strength... if you run him as a chase focused killer with BBQ, STBFL, M&A, and Corrupt/Pop he probably is still decent. Definitely better than the killers who are most affected by the introduction of CoH. Slinger always functioned with a 24m TR, so in this build M&A makes it so that nerf doesn't hurt near as bad. STBFL actually got buffed for him since you can break the chain on the obsession to save stacks with less of a stun. The rest of the build is just good so it works.
That said, there's two massively huge issues with the nerfs he got from my point of view.
First... chasing is all he can do now. He used to be able to do so much more. He used to be "The _____ Killer who didn't put all his eggs in one basket." You could fill that blank with any 1 of 3 things. Ranged, Stealth, or Split Pressure. He was a Ranged killer without a preshot wind up so indoor maps weren't painful, who also didn't announce his presence to literally everyone always with a lullaby, and could use M1 based perks. He was a Stealth killer who had range and anti loop, meaning that loading into wide open maps where stealth just doesn't work like Shelter Woods or Rotten Fields isn't a recipe for having an absolute garbage game like it is for Myers or Ghostface. He was a Split Pressure killer who isn't as hurt by Survivors splitting up and didn't need to rely on basic M1s for downs. In some ways, that made him better at that play style than Legion or Plague. Or at least it was debatable who does it better overall. The nerfs essentially deleted all of those alternate playstyles off of him and it sucks as somebody who rather liked them.
Second... ok... he's still a good chaser. Is he better than either Huntress or Pyramid Head? or Nurse/Spirit/Blight if you're less picky about the ranged attack? No. No, he isn't. So, then you have the question of why would anyone play him over them? I don't see any compelling reason to do so anymore. I did. Not anymore. I haven't touched him after my 2 games where I tested out just how bad he was. I suppose it didn't help that I was fighting my quickscope muscle memory but still.
tl;dr: He's not all dead, but he's dead to me and anyone else who didn't just spam his chaser build every game. But even then... why pick him over Huntress?
I see, well I personally wouldnt touch him anyway cuz he was never a thing for me tbh xD
I do have to say that I can imagine that bigger tiles like shack may be a problem for him against good survivors.

When was the last time you played any of the killers I mentioned? cause Ik for a fact demo shred takes like .5
Doctor can swing immediately after a fake shock
Pulling out and putting away the hatchet takes like .75
Plague fake vomit takes literally .25
Billy can rev the saw for like 1 millisecond and fake
And yet still all of that is fine like I've said numerous times it's not the slow aim that killed him that's fine
It's the fact he's the only 4.4 with a 32 meter tr radius
Only one in the game
I mean you are right in terms of numbers but i dont get it what you are trying to say here? Why would you fake a vomit or rev the chainsaw for 1 sec? There is literally no reason for that, you cannot compare these things with deathslingers fake.
The only one which comes close is Demo and the reason why demos is fine is because his pounce speed (how fast he travels) is slower than the shot of deathslinger which means you can react to his shred.
-
@LoneSlinger said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2698381#Comment_2698381
But the issue with that logic is many other chars have fakes and they are removed
Huntress can fake a hatchet
Demo can fake a leap
Phead can fake a judgement
Doctor can fake a shock
Billy can fake a chainsaw
Plague can fake a vomit
Trickster can fake his knives
Pig can fake a ambush
Ye but none of these Killers could use their ability as quick as Deathslinger, all of them need atleast 1 or more sec to charge it up which Deathslinger didnt had to, he could shoot right away after a 0,4 sec aim animation (not sure about the number but it was definetly short as hell).
Phead could do that but that also got removed.
Also no Plague cannot do that, if she cancel her vomit then she gets slowed down ALOT where you lose a tone of distance, you cannot really call that a fake, also there is no reason for her to do that.
