This is why I enjoy trap killers. In the beginning of the match, trap the crap out of three gens, and leave a few where you know players will go.
If they’re a well coordinated SWF, I’ll play as sweaty, campy, and tunnely as much as I have to. I also love not chasing the baiter. You know the one, wearing the flashy cosmetics that’s tbagging and flashlight clicking at me to chase them. I’ll act like I’m coming and make an about face. I ain’t got no time to be looped while your friends rescue. I need to be there to welcome them and protect my three gens!
-
The official Legion song of course.
-
I like Ohmwrecker. His videos got me into the game. He seems to have a great personality and doesn’t take the game too seriously, though he sometimes worries me when he plays killer.
No0b3 is fun to watch sometimes, but I do start to feel sorry for the killer that he’s bullying and end up rooting for No0bs death.
-
Nope. There just isn’t enough fancy cosmetics for all the tears, salt and work involved with the grind to make it really worth it. If they would start coming out with cosmetics that I could use across all of my characters, I really don’t want to spend my hard earned cash on it, especially since the game costs money to play.
I could be a bit more understanding if it was a free to play game, but it’s not. I also think a lot of the cosmetics are over priced.
Maybe when they show that the money they make is being put to good use and finally improve the gameplay for everyone by ironing out all the bugs, optimizing the game for consoles, perfecting dedicated servers and then finally giving us crossplay when all is said and done.
I really do want Dwelf, though. I may break down just for his Jingley Goodness.
-
You just need to ignore salty survivor comments in the chat. I like to poke back at them though. If they cry and say I was bad, I’ll just respond to them saying that they must have been really bad for falling for my tactics. That usually shuts them up.
As for tunneling and camping, sometimes you have to. I don’t have a lot of tracking perks for the few killers I play, and a lot of the times it’s just hard to find someone unless they’re an experienced player that has the pallet location of every map memorized. So if I get taken for a run around of the map, pallet stunned then get pointed at, blinded, or t-bagged, and three gens go off at once, you bet your behind I’m going to make sure I get at least one kill.
I just started playing trapper so it’s easier to have the end of a match snowball in my favor too. Though it’s annoying when the survivor manages to get around the trap even though there’s a wall on either side of it.
-
I use it. I mainly play solo and have learned that I can’t always count on teammates to heal me. I can’t loop well so it makes me secure.
I do think as a perk it should have a buff, it really is too slow.
I know I’m in the minority but I’d love it to remain as is- as long as they make it baseline rather than a perk.
-
No.
Devs need to fix their game and optimize if for all systems.
No short cuts, they said they weren't doing special events to focus on bugs, well, now they need to show results in the next few months.

Miss Trunchbull from Matilda.
That principal was terrifying.
-
I tried boiling a piggy the other day. They just kept looking behind them every time I crouched and pointed. They then proceeded to attack and hook me ;_;
If I played piggy, I’d let them Boop my snoot and let them go and go after someone else. If I find them again I’ll play normally, unless it’s David. David’s are precious and must be protected
-
Jake and Spirit
Unless the player playing Spirit is new or a potato, the match almost always goes in her favor.
I just hate Jake and his smug face.
Freddy is a close second because I hate facing him.
Hillbilly only because the way he looks violates me. It hurts to look at his stretched skin and fills me with anxiety.
-
I’ll never report an AFK killer. It usually only happens when they had a long wait time and forgot they actually queued. Not their fault matchmaking is in a bad spot.
Even I’d they happen to afk in a middle of a match, I’ll still keep quiet. I don’t know what may have happened on their end. Maybe emergency potty break, or someone knocked on their door, or they forgot something in the oven, or they got so out played that nothing they could do would change anything.
Stop taking the game so seriously. Unless the person is obviously cheating (hacks/working with the enemy), or extremely toxic in chat (death threats) just ignore the typical bs that you’ll see in every video game.
-
Move along, nothing to see here.
-
I play how I like. I don’t have all the killer slowdown perks available. Heck I only have two killers maxed. If they zoom through generators, I’m going to kill off the weakest links ASAP, even if that means tunneling. Sometimes I’ll make them suicide on hook just to make my time easier.
If I’m playing Hag, I’ll just place all of her traps around the recently hooked survivor if they gave me trouble and took me for a world pallet tour. That usually fills them with despair because they know one of their teammates will trigger them all. I also like screaming out Kagebunshinnoijutsu when they trigger them all.
If it’s a group of potatoes, I’ll never tunnel or camp. Unless, like tonight, they try to out someone whose hiding in a locker. I’ll let them think I’m going to be merciful and let them do gens and kill the backstabbing teammates once the doors are powered.

This is just me being curious. Came to mind so thought I'd bring it up to the rest of you.
Since there is only one killer and four survivors in a trail, why is it that the devs try to balace both parties?
Because when playing killer, you are going up against 4 other players who have the same "balanced" capabilties.
(And some might argue even better.)
I mean in that sense, shouldn't the killer have the upperhand? Isn't it unbalanced the way it is currently?
Just speculation. I would like to know other opinions and thoughts about this.
Off topic, which slayer are you; Buffy, Kendra, Faith?
On topic; Devs balance killer vs survivors as a group. From what I understand, if a killer often gets 2 kills and has 2 survivors survive, they consider that “Balanced”.
Don’t quote me on that.
-
It’s the opposite for me. It’s like 1 out of every 7-8 games where the chat is toxic.

I always called this map ironworks of BS. they nerf balanced landing to stop god loops/infinites on Haddonfield. but keep loops like this one, allow the possibility of mothers dwelling main building windows opening. and a bunch of other god loops. but they don't just block the window. they like to take their SWEET TIME with that kind of stuff. because you cant nerf survivors TO FAST or they will storm the forums in force! I mean look at how long it is taking them to fix the sound bug for the 100th time

If it’s on an open map, I can handle Plague, Clown, and Hag just fine.
If it’s on an indoor map, they’re all difficult for me, though I do best against the non-stealth killers.
Hardest Killer for me is Freddy, and then any other stealth killer.
Favorite killers to face, Trapper. They’re challenging enough and I’ve never met a toxic Trapper. They all seem like chill gamers.
Maybe it’s due to the gingersnaps I keep on my person?
-
Like every other game, the funness wears off after a while. I still have fun but I am feeling the first inklings of burnout. I can’t loop the killer and can mainly play stealth while doing gens, totems and unhooking teammates. It does get boring at times, especially when it seems like everyone is walking into the killers arms.
Id like to get better at looping but for me, there’s no way to practice without negatively affecting my teammates. If I go in search of the killer at the start of the match and try to loop them, I get downed too fast, which takes someone of the gens to come and rescue me slowing down the game and putting them at risk. If I wait for later in the game, someone has already used up all the pallets so it’s kind of difficult to get better.
I wish there was a training mode for potatoes like me.

Use Tapps perk that makes good skill checks great skill checks. You don't have to be injured to get the great skill checks to count. That challenge is really easy if you don't over think it. The 4 gen challenge is completely luck based bs. Usually 3 gens pop at the exact same time and even running bond doesn't help if two people are running gens at the same time on opposite sides of the map. Not to mention getting chased even once makes it impossible. It promotes crappy play because i won't leave a gen to save someone on the hook now because i have to be on 4 of the 5 gens when they finish. Really need to rethink this challenge, 3 was hard enough but 4 is way to excessive and promotes toxic game play.
Thanks, I didn’t know a perk as that existed. I guess I’ll level him up as soon as I finish with my baby Dwight.
<3
-
You’ll have to keep trying. Eventually, you’ll get it. I haven’t done it yet, but read it’s probably best to use Trapper. Don’t go for the basement right away, try to hook each of the survivors once before you take them down there, and take the map into consideration. Attempt the challenge when you get a map that has the basement centrally located.
Once you get someone in there, trap the crap out of the basement and anywhere leading to it. Make sure you run the perk that makes it harder from them to struggle from your grasp and the other one that lets you walk faster while you’re holding someone.
If you try this at the beginning of the match, survivors will think you’re just trying to be toxic. Trying it after you hook each of them once and they have 2-3 generators done will give them a little sense of accomplishment.
Some survivors also play killers and will understand you are doing a challenge.
The other option is an Insidious basement camping Leatherface build.
-
I know it’s not real, but if it was it would just mean the devs are tired of this game and want to watch the world burn, or they’re now on very strong drugs.
-
As a survivor I’m ok with losing and dying if it meant that a good teammate got away and made it out. I can’t loop for the life of me, but I’ll take a hit or two when I know I’m not on death hook. If all gens are done I’m willing to die for another teammate who helped me or actually did objectives. Doesn’t matter if we all win, what matters is we had fun.
As a killer, fun is when I’m put up agains similar skill level survivors and I get looped but nothing too severe. It’s gets boring and annoying when they blind me over and over from different directions, tbag incessantly, and communicate with one another to set up locker stun after locker stun. That’s when I don’t care about tunneling and camping.
I also consider twerking while moonwalking with Ghostface as fun. So much so that I sometimes throw the match to just mess with the survivors. Until someone thinks it’s ok to blind me. Then Death!

I think a big reason for her "toxic" reputation is mainly from Ochido. He uses Claudette and constantly tries to get the killer to chase him, and flashlight blind the killer, etc. Killers don't like flashlights to the point of calling it "toxic".

I don't think I've ever heard anything about Kate or Feng being toxic honestly, though I've definitely seen some annoying Kates and Fengs.
I can’t stand that streamer. I couldn’t make it through 2 minutes of a video until my ears started to bleed.
As for the topic, I don’t care what people like, Claudette is Bae. I will always love her and make her as soon as I level up everyone else.
I show mercy to her as long as it’s not a quad group of her, then two of them must rapidly die to spare my eyes.

Thanks for the welcome!
As much as people like to complain about this community, I don’t think it’s that bad. I’ve met lots of nice survivors and killers. It’s just the toxic few that make it seem like everyone’s bad.
I have been watching some funny DbD videos on YouTube. I wish I was here for some of the bugs that have been fixed. I would have loved being a levitating T-posing killer or a floating survivor.

On survivor side? I have no problems... I usually play stealth too.
On killer side? Usually no issues. Until there's 2 survivors left, both immersed, I dont have whispers equipped and it feels like the last time any gen got any progress done was half an hour ago.
I’m probably the only survivor that does this, but if the match comes to a standstill with all the gens in one corner of the map and both survivors are immersive, I’ll just walk up to the killer and let him/her have their way with me. Unless the killer was facecamping to an extreme earlier. Then have fun finding my urban evading butt.

By other survivors? Mostly because people have had bad experiences with that guy that Urban Evades across the entire map while they're on the hook, only unhooking them after they hit second stage.
In terms of emblems, mostly because there's not a whole lot of skill involved in staying hidden. But that's a whole debate. Should someone who can't survive in a chase rank up and get even harder chases, or should they stay where they are where they have a better chance if they do get caught?
That's not to say that stealth is bad, but there's a time and place for it, and there's some people out there who can't tell when it's time to sprint in, and that tends to sour other people's opinions.
I respect your opinion but disagree with some of it. I think it does take skill to stay out of a killers LOS and do objectives. The immersive player will have to face the killer sooner or later once more and more gens are complete. It’s even harder for an immersive player to stay immersive when they go up against stealth killers like Michael or Ghostface. Heck, Legion is a pain because their ability reveals my location even though I’m not in LOS. And lots of people like to play these killers.
Also, I’m not complaining about emblems, but would like to get more blood points for completing the objectives that will help us escape in the end. I could cleanse all totems, prevent NOED from appearing, wipe out Ruin within the first minute of a match and complete 3 gens while unhooking and healing survivors throughout the whole match and still make less bloodpoints and a good looper who loops and does gens. Loopers get rewarded for doing what they’re good at, immersive players that aren’t just hiding in a corner should too.
As for time and place for actions, that comes down to lack of information. Solo survivors aren’t able to communicate with each other, so it’s difficult to make the decision of taking a chance to sprint across the map and risk exposing myself only to find someone else got there first. It would have been better to stay on the gen. SWFs completely nullify that difficulty, which is why the new Kindred is nice.

It actually does tells the player who got unhooked when you have We'll make it and Borrowed time
I never noticed that. How do I tell the person who is being chased and coming to unhook me has BT or We’ll make it? Or will I only be notified during the actual unhooking action?
-
Boring is subjective. It’s boring for survivors to get moried, tunneled or camped, but it’s fun for the killers that do so.
If you had every survivor play the same exact way, the game would get monotonous, and be even more boring than it would be rather than facing 1-2 Bushettes in a match.
-
Hopefully they will stick to their word and iron out a bunch of bugs and give us a better Christmas next year.

@Sonzaishinai said:
Note that immersed players are the one who sneak around doing nothing
Nobody hates stealth players that actually get things done
Also #1 arm flailing (usually) means that the killer is still near, although the meaning varies from player to player
Also #2 note that the survivor on the hook had more information then you had, if they see the aura from a teammate who is obviously in chase then going to a safe place to heal just wastes time
I personly find it annoying when i unhook someone with We'll make it and they still insist to run half a map away before wanting to be healed, even though it was clear the killer was chasing someone else
How is the player supposed to know what perks you have equipped? That’s something the devs should consider. Maybe let survivors see each others equipped perks in the lobby?
Ive been in situations where I think my teammate is just being a d*ck and farming me in front of the killer only to realize they have Borrowed Time. How am I supposed to know that?
Also, there have been games where I could do nothing but unhook over and over because everyone keeps getting caught. Killers like Trapper and the Hag just bring out the worst in survivors.
-
Maybe they just don’t like your survivor choice? I can’t stand Jake, so I’ll never let him escape if I can prevent it. I love Claudette, so if she’s last I’ll spare her. If it’s a group of Claudettes, I’m going to tunnel one or two of them because they’re so hard to see on certain maps (Looking at both Yamaoka maps and Swamp).
Sometimes I take pity on players because they’re fellow potatoes. I’m not going to show mercy to good players who have the skill to escape, I will show mercy to the taters who have no hope because they’re just bad.
Also, if they offer their item to me and weren’t toxic, I’ll let them go.
Shirtless Jakes get a pass as well, I don’t want to wound that glorious torso.
-
Daddy Meyers, Daddy Trapper and Mommy Huntress could sacrifice me in their basement all they want. I won’t even struggle, as long as I could touch them.
Hillbilly and Leatherface can eat my dust. I’m going to stay as far from the basement as I can. Unless they do a little dance. I’m a sucker for killers that try and dance or spin erratically.
Yes, I’m lonely.
<_<
-
Pray you find a nice killer that will let you farm?
Wait until you get two survivors dc and then offer your addon to the killer as a peace offering?
That has helped me (rarely) in the past.
It may just so happen your killer wants to farm in order to do their challenges. Like several Legions I’ve faced who needed to slash survivors over 20 times.
I don’t think I’ll be able to get 6 great skill checks for one of the challenges. Heck, I completely skipped the flashlight save challenge because it just caused me to waste flashlights ;_;

Self-care is not bad because I dislike, its because there is almost no point of losing 32 seconds of gens just for a heal
Killers need more slowdowns in the game. If survivors didn't self care, what are they supposed to do other than do gens? Heal each other? So make it easier for the killer to find two or three people rather than one?
