Why exactly should the Killer Objective made easier? only because the Killer is the Powerrole does not make them deserve the 4K every game.
And to be honest, I would not like to have a Potato on my team who not only wastes all the Pallets, but also is able to put me on Death Hook right away. There would be no point in playing Solo Survivor anymore.
-
You should use Corrupt, which is the better Ruin and really valuable on Trapper.
My Trapper Build:
Corrupt Intervention-->early Slowdown and preparation Time
Save the Best for Last-->Stacks are quite good to get with Trapper and the Obsession can be grabbed out of a Trap
PGTW-->Slowdown, but I am thinking about replacing it with Brutal Strength or Whispers (to know if people are nearby who might see me placing a Trap)
Enduring-->my go to chase Perk, so I can simply eat Pallets
Add Ons are usually a Bag and Tar Bottles or Setting Speed.
But if you want to see a really good Trapper, you can either watch Otzdarva or TheEntityLeftHand.
-
I think if you think that DS got buffed (when it got the 60 second timer after unhook), you are so wrong that the rest of your argumentation cannot be taken serious anymore.

They avoided allowing in place for feedback for Ruin in the PTB survey, too.
I don't want to be that guy, but it does make one think.
Same was with Balanced Landing btw.
But of course that cannot be measured on the same scale, because its a Survivor Perk.
-
Leatherface: Making him more unique. Especially his Add Ons, they are either useless (Chili Add Ons, which are even the one for the Character) or simply Copy&Paste from Hillbilly. Change to his Chainsaw Mechanic so that it works like Hillbilly (automatic start when fully charged), less Slowdown when revving.
But mostly Add On Rework, all of them would be great.
Hillbilly: Only Nerf/higher Rarity to Tuning Guide and Nerf of Cooldown Add Ons, because missed Chainsaw Hits should be meaningful.

every licensed dlc has cosmetics except Quentin and Freddy so
Yeah, but being licensed limits the chances of Cosmetics a lot. I mean, a few months ago we had no cosmetics at all for any licensed character. And if BHVR wants to do Cosmetics for Quentin, the Holders can simply say "No".
But nothing is holding them back to create Cosmetics for Adam - except they are not profitable, because nobody plays Adam and so nobody would buy those Cosmetics.
-
Not much will change. Ruin will be less used, but thats all.

bro Quentin doesn't have cosmetics at all don't even 😂
To be fair, he is licensed. BHVR could come up with Millions of Cosmetics for Adam. But honestly, I rarely see Adams at all, so there is not really a reason to create Cosmetics for him, if only 3 people would buy them. Meanwhile, every female Survivor will get more profit by creating a cosmetic.
Maybe all of us should play Adam for a month. Like, a month full of Adam only matches (in the Base Skin). And then lets see whats happening.
-
Elephant Clown is far more superior.
(In general, Clown has so many cool Outfits, the best Halloween-Cosmetic in my opinion, Santa Clown is awesome, Pulcinella and Elephant Clown look amazing as well... Kinda sad that playing Clown is such a pain)
-
Off Topic:
Which character does your profile pic have? Never seen him before.
-
As other people said, they will be available in the store, but at least 6 months from now on.
Seasonal rewards (like the Nurse Outfit) will come to the store when it fits (which will be next Halloween).
-
Yeah, that is bugged.
-
Why are all people forgetting the tons of Survivor Nerfs before? For over a year, there were Survivor Nerfs and Killer Buffs. Now there are three patches with Nerfs, and honestly, two of them were well justified (especially the Add Ons for Nurse and Spirit, but also the Basekit Changes).
I can see which side is more complaining...

I'm wondering what your point is because I didn't mention Surge since it doesn't require you to kick a gen.
Not really. Because then you can ask, why only Iron Will removes grounds of pain, but not other Perks. Or why do I have to be injured for the effect of "This is not happening", when nearly every other Perk does not require to be injured?
Perks provide something - Ruin provides automatic Regression. Other Perks dont, because they do other stuff.

Saying it doesn't matter if one or two generators pop at the start before the killer is even allowed to do anything to defend them is like saying ebony moris doesn't matter, after all, it's just 1 hook state off of everyone.
It definitely matters.
This is of course not even talking about the fact that Pig is one of the few killers who can actually play without Ruin due to her RBTs. I bet if he played Clown or Trapper though, he'd be getting his butt kicked at least 4 out of 5 times.
Nah, you can still win when you lose Gens early in the match. But you will most likely not survive if a Mori is used on you. (At least if this happens, teach me how)
-
Why should I rank up to do even more of the most boring thing a Survivor has to do?
-
@csandman1977 said:
The 7s fall in the +/- 6 range bhvr said the matchmaking looks for.
But don't worry. They fixed matchmaking in the ptb. You won't notice any off the wall ranks anymore!
Ranks are still showing on PTB.
@Topic: This is 100% fine, if the Rank 6 was Rank 7 before and pipped. Fine in a sense of-->works like intended. In reality, 6 Ranks are way too much, but most likely it is the best way of balancing queue times and fairness.
(And honestly, I rather play an imbalanced match than having to wait for ages)
-
You are comparing Killer abilities with Perks. This does not really work.
-
This works, IF the Killer does not have Whispers and IF everyone would play like that. I have never seen it happen, even tho it would be the best counter.

I've watched ScorpionZ some.
I guess you missed the games where he gets gen rushed in 4~5 minutes too, though, despite his literal thousands and thousands of hours of experience on Pig. Or the game where literally two generators pop before they can even do anything. Guess because he can sometimes win without the perk against potatoes though, that makes it perfectly okay. *shrug*
If you would watch closely and not want to spread the narrative that Ruin is absolutely needed (because Killers rely on massive Slowdown instead of really applying pressure), you would see that it does not matter if two Gens pop early and fast. The result in the end is what matters.
Furthermore, I have not really seen that often that he gets genrushed, but that he loses, because he is playing nice. Like all 4 Survivors on Death Hook without a Killer.
I mean, you can of course also follow someone like tru3 who thinks he is going against the top Survivors all the time and thinks that the BL-Nerf was "normalization" while actual bugfixes (like Logs which should have collision actually getting their collision) are Killer Nerfs. Or who claims that the game is a 4v1, just to claim in another game, that the Survivors only won because they worked as a team.
Or you watch more reasonable Content Creators.

Yes you gave up a few seconds if you could make it to the hook safely - and you get a hook out of it. Otherwise you would have to slug them...sounds familiar. If we're using a hook as map pressure then the slugged old DS person is 1 person not on a gen.
Yeah they definitely didn't use it back then - but that's more because they had to risk not being the obsession. Now they may not be obsession so killer doesn't know who has DS anyway.
So you leave the person in the locker - they leave 5 seconds later and get back onto the gen. Now you've got no one being chased no one downed no one hooked and 4 people safely on gens till you find someone else.
Both, a hooked person and a slugged person is Map Pressure. But with old DS, you would not even get the Hook in the first place. I mean, sure, with dribbling, but that also costs time.
Honestly, non-Obsession DS was the bigger Bullshit. Because when someone was Obsession, you can at least assume that they have DS (which was only one of three possibilities when you were not running an Obsession Perk - others would have been OoO, which would have been seen or Sole Survivor which was and is bad).
-
If you bring the good stuff, the Killer will also bring the good stuff. Sounds fair tbh.

The mindset isn't all that mature but the practice is a natural consequences of the metagame shifting. Killers will use Moris and other methods to disable survivors as quickly as possible because that's what's most viable now. Hex:Ruin was a way to play without resorting to these methods and still win even without playing the best killers. The Killers making the threats already understand it is an inevitability. Hanging it over survivors heads as if it were a punishment is pointless.
There is a difference to use Moris because you think you need them and using Moris to make the other side suffer. The later is highly immature and not really necessary, because we dont need even more toxicity in this game.

Yeah...old DS was easily countered and since only 1 survivor got "full" use out of it - less used it. Now all 4 survivors can use it equally and since you can't slug someone in a locker there is no counter to it since you can't drop them after pulling them out of the locker. The old "just slug them" worked for maybe the first week after the change.
Dribbling is not "easily countered". Because it already wasted quite a lot of time. Furthermore, with "new" DS, the Killer already got some form of Map Pressure, which was not really the case with old DS. At least he gets a Hook now, which can result in PGTW or simply a BBQ-Stack + Information.
And honestly, I feel that quite a lot of Survivors did not use DS back then, because it was a really broken Perk. At least this was the reason why I did not use it (I dont think I would care nowadays, because Killers behave like little Snowflakes while bringing the broken Stuff themselves...).
Regarding Lockers - well, let them be in the locker? Not a person on a gen is always good.
-
I did not experience that so far, but I know from the Forums that some Killers think it is a cool idea to use Moris and all that other Stuff to "punish" Survivors for a change they did not ask for. Which is very mature, of course.

May I ask what this nerf is everyones mentioning? I started feb 2019 and the only change to DS was a giant buff
Old DS was simply broken. There was one Obsession, this person got the Chance to use DS a few seconds after picking up. So there was some "Counterplay" by dribbling (letting them fall down and picking them up), but this only worked when a Hook was nearby and nobody was bodyblocking. In fact, you needed to keep them slugged, until you can afford to take the DS.
Furthermore, a person who was not Obsession could also have DS. And this was the real Bullshit, because they need to wiggle a little bit (I think it was like 35%) and THEN get the Skill Check. So you dont even know in this case if that Survivor had DS, so if you commit to a Chase, you still might lose all of the Pressure at this point.
Current DS has some form of Counterplay by just keep the Survivor slugged. Sadly not many Killers seem to accept this as Counterplay, rendering DS OP, which is not the case at all.
-
@Shirtless_Myers said:
Ruin didn't need a nerf, and neither does Decisive Strike really. Slugging the person isn't such a terrible thing as it means they're doing nothing for the team during that time and someone else has to hop off a generator to get them off the ground. There's already enough counterplay to where you can essentially make that a dead perk slot on their list.
Sadly this seems to be pretty hard to understand that a slugged person is the same amount of Map Pressure like a hooked person.
-
First of all, this "eye for an eye"-mentality is pretty stupid.
Second, if we go for that, there would be at least 10 Killer Nerfs to compensate for the many Survivor Nerfs over the past months and years.
And third, this version of DS would be horrible. 100% free escape when Gates are powered, I guess THAT is what Killers really want. /s
-
I like the Standard Chase music and Terror Radius. I really hope for an option to turn individual Chase Musics off, for me, it was fitting to have it with Myers only, then Demogorgon came, but I thought it was part of the License Deal. Then Oni and now Doc...
I dont like them, I would prefer the original Chase Music and Terror Radius, even tho I might be the minority here.

What's bs? That the lead dev played publicly and was just treated like trash? Then the next patch nerfed insta flash? Because that happened. You can find that stream on YouTube. It's hilarious. He played hag against a group and they just bullied him.
I didn't say devs need to be good, but if devs aren't then take feed back from those who are. Dev teams usually do this with competitive games.
I didn't say they don't know what's going on in their game. The issue is they're ignoring a lot to focus on new player enjoyment when detailed tutorials would be better. Which is the worst thing. They see 80% of people use ruin and ds. They say ds is fine but ruin isn't because 80% use it. By that logic ds needs to be fixed. Rather than fix why it's being used then change the perk since it's no longer needed.
The reason they listed as positives for this killer perk was stuff for survivors. Which doesn't help with the reasoning behind the changes and not changing ds.
That's like listing a positive for Adam's rock being "if you chase them they'll never get it and it's so obviously a rock you'll never be fooled"
You list why the changes are good for killer.
I know what you are talking about. Still I dont think that Devs need to be good at their own game. They also dont have the time to be good at it, because they are developing it. And I can also imagine (and this is pure speculation) that if you are working on DBD on a daily basis as your fulltime Job, you might want to spend your freetime with non-DBD-things. Like, working on a restaurant, you will most likely not want to eat stuff from there, even if it is good food.
They invited Fog Wisperers. And I am pretty sure they are highly aware of what their community wants. Personally, I dont mind Ruin at all. I dont use it, I hate to use it as Killer, because for me, it is a waste of a Perk Slot. I get stressed when using it, and I am honestly tired of the situations where it was gone before I even knew where it was. And as Survivor, I simply dont care. If it is there, whatever. I am more scared of no Ruin, because this might mean that the Killer is actually good at the game. And THIS is what scares me more. People who dont rely on Ruin instead of those, who say they lost or had a rough game, because Ruin got found early.
But, I would be amazed if they give that much on Forum Feedback. The DBD community is crying a lot. And I mean A LOT. If any change is published, they already grab their pitchforks, without any tests. I can understand why they bring up the Ruin Change one day before a PTB - why bother with publishing it earlier? People would just complain longer without any basis.
And lets not forget, those are three patches where Killers get Nerfs - Nurse (which was justified, also the Basekit Nerf), Spirit (which was not that much of a Nerf, but the broken Sounds are the bigger problem currently) and now Ruin. Before there were TONS of Survivor Nerfs for over one year. So acting as if the Devs are Survivor biased is simply wrong.
(But I agree that the statement was written poorly. But I doubt a more neutral statement would have changed anything regarding the outrage which followed)
-
I also have to disagree on the difficulty. I was quite disappointed of Tome Level 3 Rework and especially Tome Level 4. Level 1 and 2 were done so fast, and I expected to have more to do with Level 4. The challenge were I spent the most time on was Six Feet Under, but I also got quite lucky with no DCs (and yes, Survivors dont DC as often as Killers claim) and the last Survivor was nice enough to not wiggle.
I liked the Rift, even tho I am not using that many of the Skins.
-
@Elvenmonk said:
I want to see the devs play high level killer again, publicly.
Last time that happened, that I remember, insta flash was taken away.
This is pure Bullshit. Sorry to say this, but a Dev does not need to be good at the game. And I am pretty sure that the Devs know more about their game than 99% of the playerbase (including me and most likely nearly every Fog Whisperer).
@Elvenmonk said:

A lot of killers can't cross maps in time, which is the issue. The old maps are big. Slower killers can't reach them. T1 Myers has no luck. Especially since he needs to tier up to get his movement speed. Wasting more time
Personally I use Corrupt Intervention on Myers to get the people to me. This obviously does not work when they are just hiding near the blocked Gens (which is the best way to deal with Corrupt Intervention), but this is rare. Sure, I play with 3 Perks the entire Match, but at least Corrupt has some value which Ruin might not even get.
Regarding Map Size: Highly agree on that one, and some Maps need to be changed (e.g. Red Forest Maps, complete Rework of Rotten Fields, complete Rework of Haddonfield and Ormond, just as examples), but even if all Maps would be small and Gentimes would be increased (which is not gonna happen), Killers would still use Ruin. Even now they are going for so much Slowdown like Ruin, PGTW, Sloppy Butcher... Honestly quite boring, I think it is more fun to focus on Tracking and Chase Perks.
(Sure, you will lose 1, 2 or maybe even 3 gens early, but afterwards, the game is in a good flow... Last Time I used Ruin was when grinding Doctor to prestige him, and I did not have any better Perk... In one game, it was up all game and I still got destroyed. You have those games, but Ruin did exactly nothing, and they might even ignored it, because it was in the basement of the Badham School, which is a pretty obvious Spot...)
-
It is a trade off to cleanse Ruin or not. Ignore it and if the Killer is good, he might get a lot of value out of Ruin, because people constantly need to leave their Gens.
If cleansing, it will provide the use of PGTW (which is already better than Ruin anyway). Personally, I would rather cleanse Ruin.
-
"I'm not happy at all with these changes to Ruin considering Killers have no other way of slowing Gen Rush early on in the game."
You know... You can chase people. And injure them. And hook them.
This is by far the best Slowdown.

What else are they supposed to do, though? There's literally nothing else Killers will be able to do to counter early game pressure.
Saying killers are punishing survivors for adapting to this change is like saying survivors punished killers for the "no heal meta" when they nerfed healing.
Its not like there are Killers who already play without Ruin in High Ranks. I mean, just watch Scorpionz, playing Pig (a Killer which many people call weak) in Red Ranks, without any Slowdown Perks.
I really hope that Killers will go away from their massive Slowdown aka Ruin/PGTW/Sloppy in one single Build, and go for Chase Perks instead.

Well, to reward that prestige level I'm more of a fan of what someone wrote on the forum already and raise the bloodpoints cap. Like 100k bloodpoints per prestige level thus having no limit for that that value. It doesn't really influences the "per game bloodpoint gains" thus not being unfair to people that already got someting like prestige level 10 long ago and would really be helpfull for people that like to save bloodpoints for wathever reason (usualy for new characters releases).
I honestly think that doing what you propose would be a big jump in grinding and since the game relies a lot on grinding, I honestly don't see it happening.
^ would agree on raising the BP Cap. Maybe even more than 100k BP per Prestige Level, but currently it is kinda annoying that you can only get to like Level 35 with 100 Mio BPs saved. Which is not even enough to get anything from the Bloodweb Improvements a few patches ago.
-
I think it is more a way of understanding WHY you are suddenly revealed and screaming. Because the Killer is not really near you (you hear Terror Radius, but that does not necessary mean that the Doctor is near you, especially when using Distressing or Calm (pre Patch)). But if the Killer is doing something, it is more understandable, why you get Madness and why you are screaming.

...they are in tiers 7,15,39,47,66 and 70 respectively
you need to complete all the tiers to get all the parts!
It is quite nice to have the possibility to get them for free. And even if not everyone will reach Tier 70, a good bunch of people will and those who dont, will have a few pieces unlocked, reducing the prize for the rest of them significantly.
Especially for Clown, only the Knife is on a really high Tier, so you just need to grind to Tier 39 to get the important Parts.

You don't have to like him to listen to him or consider his thoughts. But since you've immediately jumped to telling my how angry I apparently am I get the impression you won't listen to anything anyone says at all. I guess I'm wasting my time trying to reason with you.
Honestly, I have tuned into his Stream, because he featured the PTB. Usually I dont watch him, because he is so negative nowadays and so whiny and complaining. Basically since he needs to put effort into being at Red Ranks, he is that way. Personally I am pretty sure that he does not have any fun on DBD anymore, but stays there for the community (not saying that he wants to have the most money out of it, but I guess he really likes his DBD-Community).
But when watching him, he said that it is a "clear nerf to Huntress" that a pile of Logs on Haddonfield now has Collision... Like.. #########? A Bugfix, a solid Object that should be solid, is a Nerf? Furthermore, on PTB there is something with the movement so that Hits which connected when the Killer is far away, should feel more smooth. He interprets that as the Killer missing more Hits. No, it should just work in a way that Hits which should have hit should not look that ridiculous on the Survivor Side.
And if someone really thinks of Bugfixes as Nerfs... Sorry, cannot take those persons seriously.

So if 99% of the community hate the change but there's that 1% who like the change your still going to implement it into the game?
Isn't the whole point of a PTB to test something and if the players don't like it then you won't add it into the game after all? I remember that's what you guys said when the BL changes were announced.
But at this rate what's the point of PTB if your going to keep the changes even if they suck?
Also can you please explain why you keep hiding stuff from us? This is why people are getting angry. You did this with the Freddy addon changes too. If I was a game developer I would never ever do this.
"hey guys here is the doctor rework on the PTB... btw we changed ruin lol"
you should announce drastic changes like this 2 weeks before the PTB not one day before it drops.
So that people can complain for 2 full weeks without testing it? Sure...
btw. even the PTB test will not be enough to see the consequences, only the Live Server can give that insight.
