    Exactly.

I think the Ruin change is not needed at all, but what happens here at the forums right now is a little too much crying imo. Especially when I read that players want to punish other players with most toxic playstyles for the decision the Devs made. What the hell...?

I'm gonna stop playing for a week or so until they all calmed down a bit or used up their ebony moris. Don't want to deal with these outraged people atm.

I mean, I also have no problem with current Ruin. I guess I will profit, because I cannot sit on a Gen with a Potato anymore who cannot hit Skill Checks (I hit them 9/10, so Ruin did not matter that much for me, but I also have 3K hrs, so I should be able to hit Ruin Skill Checks, lol). But I would not have asked for a change (more like that Hex Totems should be more hidden, but this is nothing that only I would like to have).

But I highly dislike the amount of Threads that is coming up with all this negativity. Most likely because 90% of those players will still continue playing the game and continue playing Killer.

And coming up with toxic playstyles.. Why punishing Survivors for a change they did not ask for? No reason to punish people with Moris, who might not even know that the Forum exist or never interacted with any Social Media Presence of BHVR. And those will most likely be the vast majority of players.

Nerfing something because new players have a hard time with it, is ridiculous. If matchmaking was working as it should, they would be going up against killers who were also new.

I also noticed that they didn't address totem positioning, at all. Sometimes they are right next to one of the gens. They nerf a perk that can be removed within 30 seconds of the game starting. Brilliant. The should just remove the hex totems from the game. You already have to use a perk slot on it, there is no need for a breakable totem at this point.

But it works how it should? Instead of playing on somewhat the same Rank when playing SWF, they play vs Red Ranks. Which, surprisingly, use Ruin.

If you are brown and instead of before you face green or maybe yellow or purple (most likely green, when it is an average) you would find way less Ruins. If you get dragged into Red Ranks, not only the Queue Times get longer, but also the use of Ruin is way more frequent.

So yeah, if they would revert the SWF-Change this would probably be good. Killers still get bullied even WITH the change (even tho, many Killers refer to bullying when they simply lose the game...Because, you know, the Powerrole means you have to win all the time)

  • The only thing that is proven once again:

The DBD Community is the best in crying without testing. Neither of the persons who complain tested the new Ruin and neither of them tested to play with other Perks instead of Ruin.

Quite a shame that the DBD Community is such a whiny mess.

Looks like we found the survivor main who can't hit great skill checks. Are you honestly complaining about ruin being used too often? What are you rank 13 or below? Yeah even if they can hit great skill checks it still helps more than not having ruin and some high rank survivors can't always hit them 100% of the time and will spend time trying to find it and could run into the killer while doing so, also hitting a great skill check with ruin up doesn't progress the gen as opposed to not having ruin where it progresses a few seconds or so. It also can last the whole game sometimes or it can last 10 seconds, it's high risk/reward type thing.

Maybe you should read AND understand the whole post before making assumptions. If it is too difficult, I can make my awesome Paint Skills work and draw a comic for you.

Those killers who need to setup at the beginning suffer a lot, Hag , trapper

Corrupt Intervention is way better for those Killers.

  • Neither of them is toxic. And I love flashlights as a Killer. So much fun to see people not learning that blinding a Killer at the Pallet while injured is not the smartest idea.

  • The SWF-change benefits nobody. Queue Times got longer for high Ranks for Survivors and for low Ranks for Killers, because people get dragged to the High Ranks or out of the low(er) Ranks.

It does not help bullying at all.

And even a Rank 10 Killer should not do that bad when he faces two Red Ranks and two brown Ranks.

Also, I am pretty sure that the Ruin change is the aftermath of the SWF-change. Because who struggles with Ruin? New players. Who gets to deal with Ruin more often since the SWF-change? New players.

When I was new, nearly no Killer had Ruin. And if they had Ruin, it was 99% a Hag. The higher I got, the more frequent Ruin became. First I was always searching for it, at one point, I did not care and I am hitting Great Skillchecks probably 9/10 times. So Ruin does not really affect me.

So I was able to adapt, because the higher I got in ranking, the more frequent Ruin became. New players dont have this choice, they are pretty fresh at the game and start in much higher Ranks due to the SWF-change. Which, again, does not fulfill his purpose.

  • I like this idea.

When the Ruin Change was published, I was like "It should not be a Hex anymore". But in combination with Surveillance, this would be an insane tracking Tool and the Killer would not have to patrol Gens, because he would instantly see where Survivors are.

But with this idea, it would actually be able to provide some use Lategame, which might not be the case when it is a lit up Hex from the beginning of the Trial.

However, what still could happen is that all Totems are cleansed at this point, resulting in a game with 3 Perks for the Killer. But I guess that should not be that bad, because then Survivors wasted time cleansing Totems and not being on Gens before.

  • A few hours ago I thought the same. But in combination with Surveillance... You would not need to patrol any Gens, you can just wait and go to the Gen which is repaired, because you will exactly know what is going on.

  • @AhoyWolf said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/969740#Comment_969740

I think the only reason why it is still a Hex perk is because it belongs to Hag.

This would be a dumb reason, if that is the case.

  • I dont use Ruin anyway, and Killers should not carry Ruin from brown to red Ranks, because then they would learn that it is not necessary.

I will test it out, not only on PTB, but also on live, because this is the only way to test things.

However, I think it should not be a Hex Perk anymore, because then it would also provide late game value.

  • @Callmehandsome said:

You just balanced the game araund worst survivor once again. I certainly won't be playing killer anymore. I will completely switch to only survivor gameplay, which i have been doing mostly

But the best Survivors were not affected by Ruin anyway?

  • "Corrupt and Pop are the next best thing. This is a bad change, because most Killers lack EARLY game pressure, not late game."

Corrupt and PGTW are better anyway. Especially PGTW makes so much more difference than Ruin in High Ranks. In High Ranks people can hit great Skill Checks, the impact of Ruin is not really relevant.

Furthermore, early game pressure... The most pressure is done by actively chasing people off Gens. People should really stop thinking about the first Gens, it is only logical that those are the fastest, because nobody needs to get saved, nobody is being chased, Survivors are at their strongest.

If there are less Gens to patrol and some /or even all) ressources are gone, the Killer will have a way easier time than at the start of the Trial.

Furthermore, this might shift the Meta for Killers. It is annoying to see all Slowdown the whole time, instead of trying to apply pressure via chases and fast tracking.

  • "Good job, BHVR. You successfully butchered the one reliable perk in the killer arsenal and made it so that survivors no longer need to at least be decent at skill checks. Impressively botched!"

How the ######### is Ruin "the one reliable Perk"? xD

It is a Perk that so many people think is needed, but it is so unrealiable. It can be cleansed within seconds or will have nearly no impact when the people are experienced and good at hitting great Skill Checks.

It only really has an impact on lower Ranks, where it is not needed at all.

  • @Peanits said:

You can always do the challenges and claim the rewards. The Tomes never expire. You won't, however, be able to get Rift Fragments from older Tomes. Only the most recent Tome will give you Rift Fragments.

Short version is, there's no point in saving them unless you're just holding onto the bloodpoints.

If multiple Challenges have been completed and the reward was not claimed, it will not be auto-claimed when a new Rift/Tome are released, correct?

  • Yeah, remove the only "counter" to Spirit, which can even be hard-countered by Stridor. Cool.

See below an accurate drawing of my face at this point:

    >:(

  • As long as someone stays at the Gate, it is fine. If people 99 it and then run away from the Gate, it can be quite a mistake.

  • @ABannedCat said:

Per definiton its cheating. You are using a 3rd party program to get a competetive advantage.

The thing is though its developer-approved cheating. Meaning you can get away with it, and even be encouraged to do it.

A Dev literally wrote that using Comms is not Cheating. Meanwhile you say it is Cheating. Great.

  • I wrote a long post what I would like to see for Pig. This includes mostly Add Ons, since her most useful Add Ons are brown and yellow (but she also has some decent in higher rarity) and her Ambush, because it is not really worth using.

However, I dont think that Pig is in need of a severe Buff or Rework, she is a lot of fun to play and not as bad as people claim. When I see Pig in like D-Tier on Tier Lists, those people are simply wrong.

  • I mean, totally understandable. Lost a BPS today because a Killer ragequit after 1 minute in the game, because according to him, the Hit he tried to land on me should have hit. So yeah, I once get not ######### by latency or Hitboxes and the Killer DCed because of that... But only Survivors are entitled.

    Anyway:

There will be DC Penalties in the future, however, they will not really solve anything. People will still be able to ruin other players games. I mean, Killers will not care that much if a Survivor kills himself on the first Hook or not, but it will affect the other Survivors. There is no difference for them between a DC or Suicide on Hook.

Or by simply going afk - this can also be applied for Killers. Haddonfield?-->I go afk, facing a Corner. Survivors will depip because of that, and the Killer will not get punished for the system.

But players who have to DC because of Bugs or simply because their game crashed, will get penalized.

So yeah, there will be something in the future, it was already tested. However, if it will be a good addition... I doubt it.

  • Not only the DCs, but also the Chaser Emblem. Gens were pretty good, you got Iridescent. You did not get many Hooks, which is understandable in a 2v1 (depending when the Survivors DCed). And well, Chaser Emblem.. This is not really good for Plague, some Killers get punished for using their Power. Which is simply wrong.

Without the DCs Chaser and Hooks should have been better. But overall, I think that no player should depip when there is one DC. Neither the Killer nor the Survivors should be responsible for some Dickheads who DC.

  • Neither Killer is toxic. Freddy is also not OP in any means. But highly boring to play against in my opinion, because he is kinda braindead. Pallets are braindead by themselves, the Sleep Mechanic is kinda meh (either you go into Sleep automatically or when you get hit, making waking up for chases not really worth it (but overall it is worth it, for the teleport)) and with his Snares he is basically "reverse-bloodlusting" instead of just breaking a Pallet.

    But thats just my opinion.

  • Its not cheating. People who say it is cheating are stupid. (No other word can be used for that)

  • Not really an exploit, but also not that useful. If the Killer swings, sure, it works. But with camping, there are two people not on Gens, most likely even more, because others try to rescue as well...

Rank 18 i just got back into the game from a 3 month break

Yeah, most likely your Rank is so low that you dont have many Survivors in your Rank Area. It might be possible that those are in higher Ranks, because they get dragged to those Ranks because of their SWF-groups.

  • Seems like not many Survivors are playing this game due to the constant Nerfs. (At least this is what Killer Players always claim why Survivor Queues are that long)

    On a more serious note:

What Rank are you playing? Especially low Rank Killer can take a while.

Also: Currently is double BP, more Players tend to play Killer during that time, because Killers get more BP (in general and because of BBQ).

  • Survivor should start in Dying State and not be able to recover or being healed.

    Thats what I call balanced!

    Killer Main btw.

That is just bad thinking, it is very unfair, that no matter how skilled you are you will lose... Like being in a running competition, but some guys are allowed bikes, would you just accept that?

And why should the other side, who can also be skilled, not be allowed to win?

You wont win every game just because of playing in a SWF.

  • I mean, if someone uses DS on the Killer, they should at least get a use out of it. And tunneling someone because the DS Stun is meaningless because of Enduring is also not really the solution.

Enduring is still a very solid Perk, even without Spirit Fury. I use it on pretty much every M1-Killer.

I get the windows(reason why i run resilience always now),but if you get hit through a pallet you probably deserved to get hit for dropping it to late.Unless you mean you drop down a pallet and then you get hit when the pallet is already dropped which is dedicated servers infact.

    Eh.

Sometimes it looks like the Hit only connects because of the thrown Pallet. Even vs tall Killers with large Weapons (so no Freddy-Shenanigans here), the Swing clearly missed and is miles away, but when putting down the Pallet, it suddenly Hits. Might also be Dedicated Servers, but it is REALLY uncomfortable.

  • The new Perks are nearly always not good enough to make it into Perk Builds. BHVR is afraid of putting in strong Perks, this is a fact. Killers have it better here, because they get some Perks that might be useful on some Killers or can be an actual pick. Different playstyles make the same.

    Just looking at the Chapters:

Bamboozle (and later PGTW, after the Buff) are solid Perks. Spirit Fury as well, Haunted Grounds was also somewhat decent. Discordance is solid, Iron Maiden at least used on Huntress. Corrupt Intervention is good as well, Infectious Fright useful for some Killers. Demogorgons Perks are garbage, Thrilling Tremors for Ghostface is a really good tracking Perk, Im all ears is useful as well. On Oni, Nemesis can be used with PWYF, Blood Echo might be a pick on Plague (even tho, there are better Perks for her).

On the Survivor Side, when comparing all the DLCs: Kate-->Nothing..Adam-->Maybe Deliverance, Diversion for the LOLs...Jeff-->Nothing. Jane-->Head On for the LOLs. Nancy-->Inner Strength, but not good enough overall... Steve-->second worst Perks in the game tbh... Ash-->After MoM-Nerf, garbage Perks...Yui-->No good Perk.

I mean, yeah, there were complaints that Breakout might become a problem, but come on... Only because a Survivor Perk does more than "nothing", does not mean that it will do anything compared to Meta Perks. The only somewhat useable Perk is Inner Strength, but again, cannot compete with Meta Perks (why put Inner Strength when Adrenaline exist?).

As said above, Killers have it better here due to different playstyles, but I nearly always see BBQ, Ruin and PGTW in Perk Builds. But at least they have some more variety than Survivors.

As Survivor, you just need to have the Basegame and Halloween DLC and you are fine. When you only play Survivor and dont care for having all of them, you dont need any other DLCs for the Perks. And this is kinda sad.

I really wish BHVR would create more strong (yes, even VERY strong, but not like old MoM) Perks so that there will be more variety again (and what did they do? Nerf BL so that Survivors have one Survivor Perk less to pick...)

  • So, now you got your 3 seconds of attention, time for the next game of DBD.

  • Only because someone is a Fog Whisperer, does not make them suitable for Balancing. Some of the Fog Whisperers are indeed capable of thinking of a right way of Balance, others are certainly not.

And when 4 big guys beat 1 small guy is also not bulling ? Do u see any kind of similarity or u will just pretend to be blind ?

As long as they were not actively going to let you feel miserable, they were not bullying you. If they were just playing the game and you had a hard time catching them (which is understandable and just logical, they are much higher Rank than you), they did not bully you at all.

  • @Souless said:

Bulling in this case is putting new player against veterans with thousands of hours played do u disagree ?

    Yes, this is not bullying.

  • Just answer my question: Because from what it looks like, you consider bullying everything that makes you lose.

"Bullying" is one of those words which is used way too often.

  • @Souless said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/963848#Comment_963848

Would u have fun getting bullied in half of ur games by high ranks players when you just started the game ? Are u trying to tell me to have fun ? Do you already have Stockholm Syndrome ?

    What do you consider bullying?

  • Not different from dodging Lobbies because of certain Items/Survivors/SWFs. The outcome is the same, longer Waiting Time for all other players involved, but it does not hurt anyone like DCing midgame.

So I get why people dodge Moris.

  • "Baby Killer" is something that people write who are neither that smart, nor even good at the game. Like, "I watch some Ochido-Videos! I am not that good at looping, but when I am that good at Trashtalking, I am like him!"...

Had a Survivor a few Days ago who wanted to get chased. Ignored her. Found her soon after, chainsawed her. She killer herself on Hook. And waited 12 minutes (game went on like that) just to write "Baby Killer" in Endgame Chat. Think I got outplayed there.

And so got you. Deal with it. :> /s

  • @Souless said:

No i reported them cuz devs said that max rank diference in one trail is 6 and i got diference of 11 ranks what looks like an exploit for me. They basicly get free ranks for playing vs new player like me for not doing anything.

So you just the report System, because the Matchmaking is ######### up? Yeah, cool. Thats not how the Report System is supposed to work.

  • Prove Thyself is not even a good Perk. If somebody is running Prove Thyself, he is not using a Perk which is way better. Which is good for the Killer.

Furthermore, Prove Thyself is only really good at the end of the game, because at the start, it is better to go for different Gens anyway. So only near the end, when it makes sense that multiple people are on a Gen (and the Killer is at their strongest), Prove Thyself has an actual effect.

Also, Freddies Add On-Nerf did not hurt him that much - he is still a really good Killer, he did not need to rely on so much Slowdown in the first place.

    And btw.:

I have very negative experience with this game. Are u suprised ? The things i see here are mindblowing.

So you reported them, because you lost?

  • @shalo said:

Agreed, you'll be matched with red SWF who will abuse you in after-game chat for not being as good as 2000 hour players. It's not fun. I play Killer matches until BHVRs 6-limit matchmaking limit is broken, so yeah, I only play one killer match a day.

    Enjoying your holiday BHVR?

You dont know what they wrote. Only that he reported all 4 of them, and since I recognize 1 name, I am pretty sure it was not even an SWF (because when I had this person in my Lobby, they were either Solo or 2 man SWF, and not toxic at all).

Furthermore, he could have just reported them because he was salty. Looking at the post history, his Threads are kinda...special, I would say. Of course this is also a highly negative thread as well.

  • Here we have an example why the word "toxic" has no meaning anymore. It is used for everything.

Neither Head On nor Camping are toxic.

  • @Pulsar said:

Well, some stuff does get out of hand. Not much though.

4 Prove Thyself with Toolboxes makes me sad :(

Prove Thyself is actually a bad Perk. Bad in a sense that it is better for the Killer if they equip Prove Thyself than any Perk which is stronger. It also onyl really comes into effect during the Lategame (where the Killer has a bigger advantage than at the Start of the game), because it is more effective to work on different Gens anyway.

  • This 16 Perks-Bullshit is still in peoples mind? oh my...

  • I just play the game. I watched a lot of Horror Movies when I was younger, nowadays I am not that much into Horror anymore. Last time I watched a Horror Film was Evil Dead in 2013 with a friend of mine, because Horror was the Genre we both were ok with when going to the cinema.

(The movie is not good btw)

  • Trashtalking in Endgame Chat, especially after a pretty fair Match.

  • For some Killers, you are toxic because you exist. Some Killers think that looping is toxic, that using a Flashlight (not for clicking, for actual reasons) is toxic or that doing Gens is toxic.

Would just ignore that, the term "toxic" has been used for so much, it does not really have a meaning anymore.

  • I would go for Autohaven or MacMillan. Those can be quite good for Killer in general, because they can have a small size, which also makes it easier to carry people to the Basement (except Suffocation Pit and Resting Place can be difficult with that).

Ironically I got my challenge on Thompsons House (with the Basement in the House).
