Because my ruin gets broken in the first two seconds because it spawns next to a generator that somebody’s spawns next to

    Then... Dont use Ruin?

    That 4% can destroy your 30% 1k

If you have only a 30% Chance to get even a 1K, the 4% of an Unhook should be the least of your problems when playing Killer.

  • No to all ideas.

Regarding Oblivious-->This will not affect high Rank Survivors at all. They are aware. If a high Rank Survivor is sitting on a Gen it is quite hard to sneak up with a Stealth Killer. Low Rank Survivors will most likely have problems with that. But should it really be harder for low Rank Survivors?

The Perks should be dismissed as well, regardless if the first idea is an option or not. Nobody would use either of those Perks and they will just be an increase of the grind.

Regarding Skill Checks counter-clockwise-->This is part of Docs ability. While it is not hard at all to hit a counter-clockwise Skill Check, it would be quite lame to have same Basekit, this would make it even easier to hit them. Let them be unique to Doc.

  • I am Rank 1 Survivor and Killer and I disagree. And now? Is it a Draw?

  • The DCing Survivor gets a Matchmaking Penalty (which affects their Teammates as well, if they are SWF) and he loses all BPs he has earned and will lose a Pip.

While it is clearly annoying and unfair, not really a reason to put any work into this - this will not happen on a frequent basis, highly unlikely that someone will do that more than once in a while. BHVR does not need to put ressources into this.

I play Bubba a lot and I have no clue what he means lol

If you use your Chainsaw while not in Chase, you dont get any BPs for this. Billy gets BPs for his Chainsaw Sprint.

But even IF there would be a Score Event for Bubba, who wants to do that?

also if you watched that part of the steam you would've seen both cote and the other dude both say this year and in segments, also they now have an entire team on just graphics and assets, and from the looks of it the assets are almost complete along with two or more maps. asset updates and lighting don't have to come with map overhauls for they are completely different. theses changes are going to come faster than you think

But again - "this year" can mean "year of DBD". Companies like to calculate in their "own" years. e.g. I work for a company (as a Volunteer) and the new year for them starts in April. So if something is happening in April, it is happening at the beginning of the year/first thing of the year and so on. Even tho something happened in February, this is considered "last year".

So it is more likely that "year" means anything from the 4th anniversary till June next year.

  • Nurse does not need any Buff, she needs Bugfixes. IF her Bugs are fixed and IF she appears too weak, then she can get Buffs.

  • "There are times where you are totally dominating as killer and you have to slug and waste time even by quickly hooking different people. This turns the "anti tunneling perk" into a 60 seconds immortality perk."

So you say that you slug, but when it comes to DS, slugging is no option? Right...

Let alone that DS is no Anti-Tunnel Perk.

  • Quite easy to play. Especially when you keep in mind what you get wheb "mastering" her. Especially with Stridor.

The best someone can do is to learn Nurse, but this takes long. For Spirit you only need a fraction of time to learn her with quite similar results.

  • Nah. There is not much appreciation for those stats, at least a lot of people complain. And make up reasons why those stats are not valid.

I guess we are better off without stats.

  • @M4rkay said:

Comparing this killer from the past, she really has gotten to a crippled state where she is completely reliant on her crouch. Her stealth is slow, her bear traps are mostly useless as there is too much time given to survivors and the exit gate won't punish anymore if they escape while wearing it.

Her power has great potential to stall a game, but with these current adjustments, she just doesn't shine bright and is in need of a rework/buff.

Pig is far from useless. Only because she cannot get easy Endgame Kills with her Traps anymore does not mean she is bad by any means.

    @Topic:

I go for Leatherface here. Clown is probably weaker, but Leatherface is simply a bad design. His Chainsaw while quite easy to use is really not the best ability of the game, his Add Ons are mostly useless (basically only Charge Time is good) and he is really uninspired, because he only has two unique Add Ons which dont do anything and the rest of the Add Ons is shared with Hillbilly, but are nowhere near the effect they have on Hillbilly (like Cooldown-->Awesome on Billy, nearly useless on Leatherface... Speed-->Again, great on Billy, but does not matter at all for Leatherface, since his Chainsaw is only used when the Hit is guaranteed and then it does not matter how fast he is).

There is technically sense if killer player's profile(Or name like Otz) shows that they main one specific killer it would let the survivors pick counters to their main killer giving them an advantage.

This does not explain why it should be the case that the Killer can see the Survivor Profiles or Names.

  • @Mister_Holdout said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1333515#Comment_1333515

What do you mean Nurse should have never existed in the first place?

A Killer which can blink onto Survivor? Ignoring Pallets and Windows? Which other Killers cannot?

Nurse only exists because it was such an early time of the game. Something like Nurse would not be created in 2020.

  • @Warcrafter4 said:

Its simply because the 1 in a 1 v 4 is allowed more info then the 4 are allowed.

Also due to the way survivor perks/items can hard counter specific killers having survivors(I know you don't care but others who also hold this opinion do think survivors should be able to see which killer they are facing) know which killer is being played would greatly hurt most killers.

TLDR: Its an advantage the killer is allowed for gameplay balance reasons.

There is no reason gameplay wise to see the Profiles or names. Otherwise, you can explain me how this would be an advantage. It is not compareable to seeing the Items, because this makes perfect sense.

  • @Mister_Holdout said:

Did you feel the same way with Nurse back in the day? Because pre-nerf Nurse was very optimal as well.

Except that Nurse should have never existed in the first place, I did not have that much problems with her.

But seeing it as a problem that Survivors are doing the smart thing and split up (especially against a Legion) is not really the way.

  • Yup. No reason gameplay-wise to show the Survivors Profile or Name.

  • Devs said they will make Sanity Checks for Hits in the future. So that the Server checks that it looks as fair as possible. This means that there will still be questionable Hits, but this should work against VPNers.

I had a guy from China 3 days in a row. Third day I asked him if he maybe wants to stop using a VPN so that he plays on the Chinese Server and not on EU-Servers. The only response I got was the question if I am "white trash". So yeah, wholesome guy...

So lets hope they introduce the Sanity Checks done by the Server sooner than later, because VPNers are a pain to go against.

I’m running ruin and pop because the state of gens is that bad, totem spawns are utter ridiculous, ruin totem spawns next to a gen, gets broken in first minute of the game and then two gens get instantly done

Why do you run Ruin and PGTW? You are playing with 3 Perks the entire game.

Gens getting done fast is usually because you (as the Killer) cannot put enough Pressure on the Survivors.

    Hello,
yesterday I had a match where I was unable to use Self Care. My character had a Toolbox in hand and when I pressed M1 to heal myself, the toolbox disappeared for a brief moment, but the healing animation did not start.

I was able to heal others and others were able to heal me. I also noticed that one person in the match did not heal himself. I was not able to find him, but he might have had the same problem (he also had Self Care).

The game was vs Trapper. I might be able to find out the name of the Killer. Did anyone had a similar experience?

    Kind regards

    A Bug Report.

Man, I used Self Care. I was young. And made mistakes.

  • I dont have any problems with No MIther being obvious for the Killer. I see it as a different gamemode. AND it is an altruistic Perk, because you are putting yourself as a target so that your friends (aka other Survivors) are left alone by the Killer.

But what should be done - BP-Bonus, either 100% in Altruism and Boldness or a general BP-Bonus. And Noise Reduction by 100%, since someone with No MIther cannot go into chases that easily, Iron Will is a must. This would at least free a Perk Slot for something else like Tenacity or Unbreakable.

  • @DeadByCommunity said:

If I hook other people or if the obsession is fully healed and even if they work on a gen for 20 seconds or so it should not still be active since you aren't tunnel. An it's so easy for a free escape during endgame if they are saved or use delivernce and the fact that ruin was nerf for being overused an not the survivor side for the same reason is even more laughable.

It was just explained to you that DS is not an Anti-Tunnel Perk. It was not designed with that in mind, but the community labelled it as an Anti-Tunnel Perk. Also, Ruin was indeed overused, and far more than DS. If I remember correctly, Ruin was used in 80% of the games in Red Ranks. DS is used like 35-45%, at least this is what I read when I look at the statistics some people take themselves and provide on the Forum.

    This is not compareable.

Also, Ruin was also reworked because it was a Perk which was just used without any thought - basically the first thing to do when creating a Build is putting Ruin on. And it did not even do that much in high Ranks, but completely destroyed low Ranks. And I can totally understand that a low Rank Survivor will struggle with Ruin Skill Checks and will be demotivated if the Killer brings PGTW as well. For high Ranks this might have been the Norm, but for low Ranks, if someone struggles to hit the Skill Checks and the Progress is kicked away...

  • Currently, Hatchets feel like Fridges. Even when playing as Huntress I get Hits where I am like "Ok, this did not even remotely hit them". Mostly Dedicated Servers/Latency.

Even IF Hatchet Hitboxes would be accurate, Hits like that would probably still happen. Sadly Dedicated Servers ruined Huntress quite a bit for me.

  • You know, it is not that smart to try to dismiss an argument with "must be a Survivor main who never plays Killer".

Because your "counter-argument" might be countered. You idea is bad. And you mentality is bad. SWF deserve to play like every other player in this game.

Well injury sounds, and honestly lightweight should lower feet sounds, they should make 1 more that lowers breathing sounds then get rid of chase music

Without Iron Will it is quite hard to get away in a Chase, even WITH this loud chase music.

they don't deserve matches. that's what KYF is for, why is it fair for a solo killer to face 4 co-ordinated players with the state of the game right now hahaha

I think your mentality is pretty bad.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1332682#Comment_1332682

Outside of the 326 second chance perks and 1 perk that muffles their breathing already they also need chase music?

There is a Perk which lowers the Survivors breathing? I would advice every Meg to use it.

  • @Dead_by_Gadfly said:

Agreed, i dont play demo because of the constant screaming.

Killer sided chase music is also ######### annoying cause its really hard to hear survivors. Idk if thats tge point or not but i hate it

Yes, this is the point. To give the Survivor a chance to lose the Killer in a chase.

  • Agreed. Played a few matches of Oni yesterday, waiting in the queue with a constant "Roaaaar" the whole time is annoying. Same when doing Bloodwebs with him.

  • @ronobbly said:

there should be an option for a killer to see SWF so that they can avoid, and if they don't have any killers to play against tough luck, that's why KYF is for :) just faced 4 rank 1 SWF as a rank 9 killer lol it's trash

Yeah, so that SWF-players never get any matches (most SWFs are not even that good...) and Killers do nothing than dodging. Sounds great!

    @Topic:

This would punish Solos as well. If I am Solo with a 3 man SWF, I have 3 teammates who will heal me slow and will be slow on Gens. I dont get any Debuff, but I am still affected by their Debuff.

This can also increase Lobbydodging, because Survivors might want to dodge SWFs to not be affected by any Debuff.

Bruh you woudln't need to be a killer main to know about the noise and HUD notification.

I get that DS is supposed to be anti-momentum but it shouldn't be abusable in that way, it shoudlnt give you a free escape when doing a terrible play like unhooking in front of the killer or be able to finish a gen on a killer's face with no worries at all

If someone is sitting on a Gen in front of you with DS active, what exactly hinders you from lunging at them to slug them instead of going for the Grab?

  • Not any different from Lobbydodging. 4 other players have to wait and the DCing player is the only one who loses something (like burned Offerings).

Nerf Moris so that people dont feel the need to DC because they dont want a 2 minute game.

  • Honestly, I like Flashlight Clickers. Most of them go down in a few seconds. Always amusing to see that someone tries to be like their favorite Youtuber, but only comes to Flashlight Clicking, not to Looping Skills.

  • This is a known Bug. Windows with a Drop afterwards are not vaultable in FF (not all, but quite a bunch).

  • Yeah, No Mither should not generate Blood Orbs. A Survivor Team already has a handicap when there is one (or multiple) No Mither-players in it. And Oni will get his power, eventually, since the Survivors who dont have No MIther will still generate Blood Orbs.

Like you said, the only exception is a team full of No MIthers, but this is very rare (like, how often does that happen? Once every 10k games? If at all?) and Oni gets an advantage of it.

I mean, there should still Blood Orbs spawn when he hooks someone. So he will get to use his power, but rarely during No Mither-games.

  • Those damn Survivors! Trying to be optimal! How dare they?

  • Well, if someone is only interested in the Perks, yes, the DLC is not worth buying. None of the 6 Perks is good. If someone is a Silent HIll-Fan or wants to play as Pyramid Head or Cheryl/Heather, the DLC is worth.

But solely for the Perks. No, not at all.

  • @NursesBootie said:

4 wall jungle gyms are pretty unsafe if the killer knows what he's doing. I think the pallets on badham are pretty nice (except for the infinites in th school and the house of pain of course).

The Outside Pallets on Badham are great. They would be even better if Bloodlust would not exist. The Killer has a fair chance to outplay the Survivor and the Survivor has a fair chance to outplay the Killer and get distance. This gets ruined by Bloodlust.

But other than that, Badham Pallets are really good. I like the amount and the safety level of them.

With Hawkins, they did too much when it comes to the lack of safety.

  • Nancy had one of the better Perk Sets for Survivors. Fixated is an Alternative to Urban Evasion, if you want to pair it with Sprint Burst, even tho, I would prefer Urban Evasion since I value being sneaky more than those few extra percent Movement Speed. But it is not a terrible Perk (even tho the Movement Speed Increase should be present while injured as well...).

Inner Strength is quite solid, even tho it is not that reliable, because there is no guarantee to get a Totem. But clearly her best Perk.

And Better Together...eh. I still fail to see the reason for that Perk. I would rather use Bond and sit on a Gen with another Survivor AND have all the other Benefits Bond has.

  • Quite recently I jumped because a Deathslinger was shooting the guy next to me on the Gen. His "awesome" Terror Radius made that.

The most scary moment was probably against old Prayer Beads Spirit. I saw a Teammate go down instantly, since I did not hear any Chainsaw, I thought it was a Huntress with Iri Head. I went for the Save and suddenly the Spirit jumped into my face. Took me like 5 minutes or so to get my heart to stop bumping.

(The only good thing about Prayer Beads Spirit...)

You quoted me talking about an event and said, "That's not how it works". If that's not you saying that the event in question doesn't happen, then we're speaking different - but suspiciously similar - languages.

In any case, it definitely is affected by SWF groups with wide ranges of rank. I don't just get random solo rank 1's in my games, I get groups of 2-4 that have red ranks and a rank 20, for example.

It's not a fluke or some rare thing, either. It'll be every game, every time, all evening. It's also not due to long queues - at least not on my end - because my killer queues in the evening are instant. (It's possible that the survivor queues were too long, though) I've also tested it by throwing my rank 20 survivor self into a lobby with my higher ranked friends, and sure enough we get really weird results.

Sometimes it's not a big deal in the end because it's just a 2-man so I get, "2, 19, 14, 15" which isn't really a game killer by any means. Other times it's obviously an organized group that's just bum-hunting. But it's definitely a thing that happens and is observable and predictable.

Well, the Matchmaking got changed that it should not work like that. Before it was indeed that the lowest Rank was used to search for the Killer (and even this did not work as intended).

And I can only speak for my Lobbies - most of the time I have Red Rank Killers when I play Survivor. And as Killer (Rank 1) I have Red Rank Survivors, OR Red Rank SWFs with lower Tier friends. Just now, 2 red Rank Solos and a Red Rank with a Rank 14. And they ended up in my Lobby (which was Rank 1) and not in the Lobby of some yellow Rank Killer.

Could be platform or region-specific tho. But the majority of my games is fine. IF I have any different results as Survivor, they never happen before 11 PM.

People keep saying this over and over, no matter how many times I post screenshots of nightly matches where I - at rank 16 - get matches with red rank SWF groups who brought a rank 20 with them.

I mean, at some point people have to accept that this either isn't actually how it's intended to work, or it's not working as intended. Claiming it doesn't happen is clearly wrong.

Did I say it does not happen? No? Why are you mentioning it then?

Sure it happens, but more often than not the Matchmaking is working. But nobody will open a Thread with "THis Matchmaking is fine" with Screenshots where MM clearly works.

And it does not really have anything to do with SWF, at least not from my observations. I also had games where my SWF-Mate and myself (both Rank 1) and another SWF (both Rank 16) were up against a Rank 10 Killer. This does not work out by any means, yet it happened.

From what I have read on the Forum, PS4 has the most of "strange Matchmakings", I can only assume but most likely this is due to the changed Rank Reset combined with the SWF-Matchmaking changes. Because it is most of the time low Rank Killers vs high Rank SWFs - both groups which usually have long queue times. But cannot prove it, so yeah, just a guess.

But when it comes to SWF... Players should stop to use it as excuse why they lost. Most Killers in Red Ranks are not good enough for Red Ranks, but think they deserve to be there.

Meanwhile, the top group is getting matched with a rank 16 killer in half their games because they're bringing that 15 along with them.

    Darn matchmaking.

Thats not how Matchmaking works. It takes the highest Rank of the SWF-group.

  • Saloon. I always have problems on Saloon, I dont even know why.

Its not like I never escape or never 4K on those Maps, but it feels like I have to put more efford in either of those than on any other Map.

  • This would make Deathslinger incredbly boring to play as. After shooting, regardless if it is a hit or not you would need to follow the Survivor with 110% Movement Speed. This is horrible.

  • If you think that SWF makes bad players good, you are wrong. Most SWFs are not that good, and most are indeed just friends playing together. Real SWF-Squads exist in VERY low numbers.
