  • Those are the same, yes.

You get 3-5 Rift Fragments via Tome Challenges, but only for the Tome linked to the current Rift (currently Tome 3). For 10 Rift Fragments, you get a Tier in the Rift.

Also 800 XPs award one Rift Fragment.

  • Expecting Rewards when winning against Potatoes? Nah.

  • Flashlights are not that much of a problem for Hag, as long as it is not a huge amount of Flashlights. I just to switch Killer with Hag whenever I saw a Flashlight in the Lobby, but one single Flashlight does not make that much difference.

The reason I dont play Hag are different (I find her extremely lame to play, it is basically just camping from a distance), but she is still one of the strongest Killers in this game. Removing the ability to burn her Traps would only lead to nerfing her in other aspects.

I agree on Wraith (and Nurse) tho. Those are the only two Killers which can be burned, nobody burns a Nurse because it is not worth it, and there is no reason why Wraith should suffer such a big Stun. Killer Burns are something which came in the game right at the beginning and is simply outdated.

  • Low rank Killers play like that. If you rank up, you will see that this way of playing is way less prominent, because Killers have usually more trust in their own abilities.

Sure, even at Rank 1 there is this standard tunneling guy, because sadly it is still the best strategy, but most of the time you will have quite good matches (which does not mean that you will win, but that you will have more fun).

In low Ranks... Eh. Survivors run around like headless chickens, Killers camp and tunnel a lot... Usual gameplay tbh.

  • @Maperson said:

Well, pick Bubba and go against red rank swf, play without camping and u will se how 'easy' it is

Last time I played against a 4 man with Bubba I got a 4K. Spanish Streamer with his friends. Got even a "Thank you for no toxic camping" at the end.

  • In my region, Killer Queues are quite long during this period of the day.

    What is your Rank?

And - did you try to cancel and start again? Because it can happen that it is glitched and says that it is searching, but it actually is not doing anything.

  • If an experienced player like Monto would be playing the Killer, they would not chase someone for that long.

    In theory - yes.

But this also means that the Killer really ######### up during that game. If he gets run for 5 Gens without getting a Hit, he clearly went after the wrong person and should have switched targets long ago.

  • Finished it a few days ago, did also all the Challenges so far. Saving BPs does not really make sense for me, since I have to grind Characters anyway. And if I use my Challenges to grind Adam or Cheryl or Oni or Pyramid Head is not really a difference.

  • The only thing which would justify such an Add-On are Exhaustion Add-Ons of Killers (like getting hit by a Hatchet because it is totally fair to spend 3Ks to disable Perks and then just using the Add On to get Dead Hard back). Those will hopefully get removed eventually.

Other than that, I dont think that we need Stuff which messes around with the Exhaustion Mechanic.

  • Survivor: Dwight, Meg, Claudette, Jake, Nea, Bill, David, Laurie, Ace, Feng, Quentin, Tapp, Kate, Jane

Killer: Trapper, Billy, Leatherface, Legion, Pig, Doktor

  • Crows are actually a good tool to find people. As Killer, if you are looking out for Crows, you can see Survivors where you dont have any Line of Sight to them. It also gives information if a Crow just landed near you - this means, a Survivor was at this spot not long ago.

Sadly Crows are something which is in the game since the Beginning, but I feel that this is a mechanic the Devs did not do that much with. It is also quite unique, yet I think that nowadays players dont really care for Crows anymore.

Regarding Calm Spirit, for me, this is a Perk I would never run. Like I said, most players (aka Killers) dont care about Crows. And it only really helps against Doctor, but eh. It also gets you killed faster on the Hook.

  • I bet he is hairy.

  • @Respectfulnancymain said:

I had killers dc right as i was about to escape and I've had survivors dc as there being sacrificed, idk why they do it its really stupid and just wasting there time

There was a Bug at some point where a Killer DC cancelled the entire Match. Yeah, this was fun - Killer about to lose? Just DC, so the Survivors dont get anything.

    @Topic:

Mostly because they are dicks. Either because they think that you did not kill them by DCing or because they simply dont want you to give the satisfaction to carry them to the hook.

Or, which would be somewhat of a explanation - to deny a BBQ-Stack. Dont know if you had 3 or 4 Stacks, since it is cut off.

  • Nice, going down while being chased from the Killer. This sounds like an awesome idea.

    Not at all.

Fantastic, this game has the best ranking system in the world

It works out, most of the time. Killer has more control tho, because they can decide if they want to get bad Emblems for killing too fast or if they want to take a step back. Survivors dont really have that much of a choice, if the Killer is only chasing one Person or that one person is exceptionally good, there is not much that can be done.

  • Ash and Ace.

  • Well, thats how the Emblem System works. Despite what people are saying on the Forum, it does not only harm Killers, it also harms Survivors.

You were not able to gain any Altruism or Chases, so you are not rewarded. You have to rely on the Killer being competent and other Survivors not being too competent.

  • Enduring - they want to work with Stuns without having to keep Enduring in mind. Enduring is still a really good Killer Perk for M1-Killers. Its not like it is useless or anything else.

Tinkerer - this Perk was changed for a reason. It was a very specific Perk which only affected a few Killers or Add Ons. It is good that they changed it, because, again, they can design Killer Powers or Add Ons without having (old) Tinkerer in mind.

Brutal Strength - I am totally up for a Numbers Buff, even tho I think Brutal Strength is a solid Perk already. I have read something on the Forums about that it might become too strong, but well... I was not around when it was on 30% at Tier 3, so I cannot 100% say anything about it.

Predator - eh, who cares about Predator?

Besides that, calling 3.7.0. a "terrible killer update" is as wrong as it can be.

  • Nurse and Clown. The fat man blinking, this would be my dream.

I don't think that's true. Just look at queue times. The whole matchmaking thing was to make times quicker because of a lack of killers. It pretty much ignores rank in favor of speed. If anything I'd say there are more survivors, therefore more reason to focus on them.

There is no lack of Killers. The Queue Times for Survivors went up immediatly after they changed how SWF-Matchmaking worked.

Also, at least in my Region, it really depends on what time of the day I am playing. Morning till Afternoon-->I have to wait 5+ minutes for Killer Lobbies (gets better over the day) and have instant Survivor Queues. Only in the evening I have to wait 2-4 minutes for Survivor and have instant Killer queues.

  • Mix and Match Cosmetics - YES. Also, first person view for Killers, since the weapon is what they see.

Regarding the Splinters - no. They were not really that useful, because playing a Killer without Perks does not give any real evidence how strong or weak they are. Also, there would not be any Deathslinger-Splinter, they were only available for licensed Killers.

So, what's about killers like hag, demo or Freddy who can teleport across the map? Still survivors fault when they instantly come back to tunnel? Maybe the survivors should wait till the killer is out of the Map so they can unhook safely without getting tunneling omegalul

    ^ this.

I had exactly one game recently where I did not use DS - when I tried the Dwight-Challenge of Level 3. Against Freddy. He was in a chase, I got unhooked, he came back via Teleport, tunneled me. No unsafe Unhook, nothing.

This was one "Never again without DS"-moment for me.

Yeah I was thinking about waiting until it appeared in the shrine of secrets but I think it appeared a few months ago so it could take quite some time before it appears again.

Yeah, I would recommend getting Nurses Calling in the first place. You dont need every teachable, but this is one of the Perks which you can get the most use out of it.

  • Get Nurses Calling. It is a really good Perk which you can use on basically every Killer.

You can level up Freddy afterwards.

OR: If you can wait for Nurses Calling, you can level up Freddy and hope for Nurses Calling in the Shrine. However, this can take a while since there are only 2 Killer Perks per Week in the Shrine and there are quite a lot of Killer Perks.

  • Highly doubt that they can exploit it intentionally. I saw it happen to other Survivors who were not running either of these Perks.

It also happened to me two times, even if I am not running either of those Perks as well.

Doesnt mean its easy, so you intentionally pick on someone for not being good when they are new??? He says that he isnt that good and hes new so your responce is "It sounds like you SUCK".

Well, he certainly did not ask for advice. He just complained.

Why do people complain about stuff they dont know? Instead of trying to be better? Asking for advice?

But of course, this Forum sees "Oh, someone says Killer is hard, this person is right!!!11"

Exactly the kind of comments that discourage new players from sticking with the game.

If I am new to a game, it is completely ok for me to not be good. This goes for every game.

Let alone that Killer is the easiest it has ever been.

  • I mean, sure you can just lose against a Hacker. But when there is no clear evidence that someone was hacking, it should not be assumed that this person was hacking.

Because if we start to assume that everyone could be potentially hacking, nobody would be able to enjoy the game. At least I dont want to think in every game that the Survivors/the Killer are hacking.

  • If you are good at applying Pressure - yes, Ruin is a good Perk.

If you are bad at doing so - it will most likely not benefit that much.

In general, it is still a Hex-Perk, so you can be lucky and have some good Totem Spawn (they exist, not even that uncommon) or it is on the famous Disturbed Ward-Spot.

I'm wondering where all these AFKing killers are. I've seen a couple threads popping up about AFK killers and if it's punishable or whatever, but I haven't run into an AFK killer in months, and before that one time it had been even longer.

Not trying to disregard what you're saying or call you wrong, I'm just wondering where these AFK killers are, because I'm sure not running into them, and I don't think the several people complaining about the "Dwight the Brave" challenge ruining the game are running into very many AFK killers either. If anything, a wave of AFK killers is what those people complaining need right now so they can just EZPZ complete that challenge.

Anyway yea it kinda sucks running into an AFK killer, but stuff happens. Some people are just deranking or farming XP or something, but sometimes it's not intentional. I don't think I've ever gone AFK purposely (other than just letting the survivors finish the last generator and get out or something) but even the other day I almost thought I did, because I was in the middle of showering and couldn't remember if I had cancelled my queue or not. Luckily I did end up remembering to cancel it, but if I didn't I would have been busy and unable to make it back out in time to really do anything about it. As the above comment said, just do your gens and get out -- it's the easiest way to go about it.

From my experience, AFK-Killers increase a few days after a new Tome-Level was out. Most likely those players finished their Challenges and decide to farm Rift Fragments by "playing" as Wraith and do something else while their Killer is in the Match.

This is just my observation. It does not mean that like every Match is against a AFK-Killer, I would say it is less than 10% for me, maybe even less than 5. But not anything that is good by any means.

  • Legendary Skins are Characters which are not in the game, but you can look like them. Susie and Joey are in the game, The Legion are 4 members, and those are all in the game.

Also, if they would become Legendary Skins, their Sets would not be able to be mixed with other Cosmetics. Which would be kinda bad, especially because some people might have bought only Pieces of it to mix them with other Cosmetics. And it would be a bad Move if someone likes to play as Frank, but wants to use Joeys Knife, would not be able to use it in the future, which means they spent money on something which cannot be used in a way they like to do it.

  • The player disconnects, the player gets the punishment.

Seems right to me. Switching the roles does not make you another person.

  • Again someone who is not as good on the game as they think they are and blames SWF for it.

    Classic.

Update: ended up leaving and got a 6hr ban lol

If you get a 6 hour ban you left quite a lot lately.

  • Maybe you are just not as good as you think you are?

  • Fragrant Tuft is something that can be called too strong. Because there is not that much evil required.

The Tombstone Piece is his best Add On, I dont know why it is only purple because it is way better than the Tombstone. Should be changed, because giving the ability to kill someone without any requirements (except the stalking) should not be the case IMO.

Just imagine, some idiot manages to give him the stalk required and then you are the one guy Myers did not see the whole game and bam - you are dead.

The Tombstone is kinda weak to be honest. It has a HUGE Downside and requires quite a lot of Evil. It is usually only used for the Achievement. At least it can be switched with the Tombstone Piece, when it comes to rarity, since the latter is stronger.

    Ruleset No. 2

Unless the survivors are total idiots, then you're actively forcing survivors ONTO GENERATORS, which is the exact opposite of what you want, unless you want to be called a tunneller.

I get what people say about the Nurse add-ons, but her add-ons don't actively hinder the player like RS2 does.

For survivors, the Tombstone add-ons suck, especially with no minimum stalk requirement to kill.

But for one of THEIR add-ons, the green Med-Kit one that increases healing speed at the cost of 8 charges to the Med-Kit. Unless I'm running Self-Care and Streetwise for efficiency. In which case why am I running this Med-Kit with those perks? I can just ditch the kit and run Botany instead of Streetwise and heal myself in a better manner.

Regarding the Med-Kit Add On - it can be used with the yellow Med Kit and another Speed Add On for one really quick heal.

Also works with the Syringe, which allows a quicker heal with the Syringe. Even more when paired with a green Med Kit and Botany.

Also, to throw in some Add Ons myself:

Everything what gives BPs (except Padded Jaws, I like to pair them with Honing Stone for more STBFL-Stacks, not as terrible as it sounds, lol)

The Pig Add On which gives increased Skill Check Chances

    Instructions

Your comment brought me more pain than facing a spirit without iron will.

Yeah, I knew from this moment on that he must be the guy who burned the Offering.

I dont have any problem with burning Map Offerings on either side, I think it is ok that Survivors or Killers burn Map Offerings which favor them. But sometimes I think that some people burning those should try to get better in general instead of trying to rely on a beneficial Map.

(I am not using them myself, but I have like 69 Haddonfield, 52 Coldwind and 41 Ormonds on my Nea... Could make a few weeks of very happy Killers with those)

  • People who use those Offerings are usually not very good. The last guy who burned Coldwind against me was a Steve with a Key who dropped Shack Pallet at 4 Gens against a Legion in Frenzy.

    *sigh*

  • Something being rare (or supposed to be rare, since Ebony Moris are not rare at all) does not make it balanced.

  • This is correct. Sadly most Red Rank Killers are bad. And still complain when they lose.

  • Deathbound is probably the strongest Killer Perk of the Silent Hill-Chapter, but if someone wants information about healing Survivors, they will run Nurses Calling. It gives information when Survivors are healing quite nearby and it probably also interrupts their Healing. Deahtbound just gives an information that somewhere on the Map Survivors have healed. I would ignore the Oblivious-Effect.

So yeah, if someone wants a Perk which gives information regarding Healing, they will run Nurses Calling. And if they are doing it, they will most likely not add Deathbound, meaning there is no reason to use Calm Spirit.

  • This will be my last post in this Thread. It is kinda sad to see how vehemently people defend someone who just queues up, goes into a game as AFK-Wraith without the intention to ever play this match...

    Anyway:

I feel like you’re somehow defending survuvors leaving, if they suicide on first hook technically there is still a game but it is absolutely ruined. A 3 vs 1 game is drastically different than 4 vs 1.

Survuvors can get out of a game that is “unfun,” by running at the killer and dying on first hook. How does the killer get out of an “unfun game,” in less than a minute?

IF you want to punish AFK killers the punishment should be the same as suicide survivors get

In my opinion, the unfun stuff should be removed. Like, I cannot blame anyone for killing on first Hook vs Iri Head Huntress. Or when they get camped by an Insidious Bubba (even tho, it would be nice if they would just struggle, but if they are Solo, I fully understand that they dont want to hang around for 2 minutes). If stuff like that gets removed, sure. Same for Killers btw., if the first thing they see is an Object who burned Ormond, I can understand that they dont like it.

What I dont like are people who suicide on first Hook, just because they are bad and went down first. Like, there is this Clown, doing nothing wrong, and they Suicide. Great.

But at least I get to play a game. Sure, a 3v1 sucks and it is most likely not winnable. But I get to play. And maybe get a decent amount of points, if the Killer is playing chill from this point on (not in a meaning to let everyone escape, but just not sweating that much) so that everyone gets a decent amount of points. Or they just slug everyone and want it over fast, cannot blame them for that tbh, even tho I always prefer the chill version, even as Killer.

But I cannot play a game when the Killer decides right from the start to be AFK as Wraith to get some Iridescent Shards. And this is my point.

    @AvisDeene

But at least you queued up with the intention to play that game. This is the difference from what I am talking about.

Ah got it- so we will always be paired with random people, no computer players. got it - thank you so much. And is this fun on nintendo switch? many thanks!

I cannot say anything for Switch, but others probably can. I play on PC and have fun with this game, on both sides.

They also announced that there will be Crossplay in the future (PC/Switch/PS4/XBox One).

  • The usual game is played in a 1v4, meaning there is 1 Killer and 4 Survivors. You can play together as a Survive with Friends, however, you will have 2 random Teammates joining you.

There is also the option of a custom game, this can be done without any other people. However, with 2 Players, this means there is 1 Killer and 1 Survivor, so this will not really work out.

1 … 256 257 258 259 260 … 341
