Not gonna lie, this is amazing what they did. Sure, 3 DS, but I like when players are fooling around like that. Would have probably laughed my ass off as Killer and let them get away, lol.
Regarding DS and Lockers - usually I only use Lockers when I am on Death Hook and my DS is running out because the Killer takes around a minute to get me after chasing after me after the Unhook OR when a Mori is used.
Other than that, I dont go into Lockers.
-
Yes, agreed.
The Status effect should be made Baseline for certain Killers who have those Add Ons and where it would make sense to be baseline (like Pig, there is a fking Trap attached to the Survivors Jar) and the Status effect itself should be wiped out from every Add On (even if there is no Hemorrhage added to the Basekit).

The question is: were they better on themself, or because they had communication on top if it?
I play solo survivor most of the time, but i did play my share of swf (mostly 3, sometimes 4). To pretend that communication doesnt give you a real big boost is just so far from reality, that i have to asume you are intentionaly ignoring reality out of fear the devs might some day decide to do something about it. There are at least two other explanations, but i dont want to think of someone i dont even know that way unless proven different.
You can do a little experiment. You play 10 games with comms, and 10 without. And then check the results, and see if they are the same.
Or put another way: If you have a survivor group at the same skill level as the killer, do you think they will do better with comm or without? Or do you think there would be no difference?
I play either Solo or 2 man SWF. The results are around the same, even tho, Solo is less enjoyable, because it is a shitshow.
As Killer, I have won against 4 man SWFs on Comms (some Streamer with Friends, so I know they were 4 man) and got stomped by 4 Solos.

It's hard to differentiate whether they would've won without all the extra communication and free perks though.
It is also hard to prove that those things were the reason they won.

No one said any of that, though.
Communication and coordination is an advantage. That's literally all I said, and all that has been argued about for half a page now.
The fact that people will argue even that simple of a point is telling of how jaded people get.
But coming up with "got stomped by a 4 man" is dumb. Sorry, being a 4 man SWF will most likely not be the reason why he lost. He lost because they were better.

Or you could try getting better at the game
I'm pretty sure you would have lost to that same team even if they weren't communicating.
No, Killers only lose when they play against SWF! Every Killer on this Forum is really skilled and plays flawless.
Its only because of SWF they lose! Its SWFs fault that they chase a Survivor for 4 Gens, because he told his Teammates that they should do Gens. Solos would never come to the conclusion to do Gens when not being chased.
-
I guess you need to improve then.
-
They said in their most recent Q&A that they are looking into Clown. I am pretty sure he will get more Changes.
This was one which was easy to implement and which will bring an improvement, without having any fear to buff the Clown too much. So no reason to not bring it right now.
-
No.
Legendary Skins transform a licensed Character into another Character. This has the advantage that only 1 Set of Perks is needed (easier to create) and they dont need to be levelled (no Grind increase).
Prestige Rewards are something entirely different, currently there is nothing known about those.

Got morid by a Iri Head Huntress.

A long time ago the devs added something called downing and hooking survivors. I don't know if people still use it or not, but back then that's how gen speeds were "fixed".
These modern times appear to be a completely different beast with killers needing more help than ever. /s
Dont tell the secrets how to become a good Killer.

Oh yeah, I really enjoyed the stream as well. My favourite part was the previews of the new graphical update, personally. But sometimes chat can just ruin it. I hope the devs weren't paying too much attention to it - I know I would find that kind of thing incredibly disheartening in their position.
The graphical Update looked amazing. I liked the Lerys Changes a few Patches ago, but the Sneak Peek we got was even better.

Totally agree. I expected the "nerf/buff" posts, because that's inevitable every time a new killer is introduced - half the community think they're too weak, the other half think they're too strong, and the truth is no one knows what they're talking about because they haven't had time to learn the new mechanics properly yet on either side.
But from the little that I've seen, and the lot that I've heard, the level of entitlement and disrespect on the stream was honestly disgusting. Imagine putting months of hard work into something only to be met with thousands of people swearing at you going "we don't care, just give us what we want and get lost". Really disappointing - I can only hope the love and support they received elsewhere was able to mitigate it somewhat.
"But from the little that I've seen, and the lot that I've heard, the level of entitlement and disrespect on the stream was honestly disgusting."
Yes, it was disgusting. Parts of this community are a shame. It was 100% clear that the new Killer will not be the main focus of the Stream, still the Chat was overflooded with Requests for the new Killer. Usually, when watching Livestreams, I watch them with the Chat. But I switched to full screen because it annoyed me a lot.
Will do the same for every DBD Stream in the future.
I really like the Stream myself, of course, for me as well the Highlight was the Trailer, but overall it was really enjoyable to watch.
-
I like both Skins. Cant wait to see them ingame, hopefully the Claudette Skin will be able to be mixed with other Skins, because Claudette seems to have a big problem with mixing Skins so that it looks good (at least in my opinion).
I am only a little bit disappointed about the Legion Skin, it looks great and is a well-deserved winner. However, Legion has already a lot of awesome Skins (possibily the Killer with the best Skins), and seeing something like Plague as the Winner would have been great (like Plague has some nice Skins as well, but they look very similar IMO).

People overexaggerate the gap between pc and console
I guess the biggest difference will be that Console Players can see in their own games that Huntress and Nurse are strong Killers. Other than that, there should not be that much of an issue from the gameplay, especially not on Survivor.
On the technical side when it comes to optimization... PS4 seems to lag when a Status Effect is applied for example. The technical side will be a bigger issue than the gameplay-side.
-
It is completely fine that some Killers are more simple than others. There are not only experienced players in this game, and a new Player will probably have more problems with Pyramid Head than with Trapper.
IMO Trapper is a Killer which just needs a little Tweaks (like starting with all Traps or at least let him carry/have more Traps at the start and distribute the Traps on the ground more in the center) to become better.
-
@Mooks said:
Yeah hopefully when that timer ends, every survivor not on hook or in a chase will instantly get scarified like in EGC. Maybe then this game will finally be balanced!
(sorry I had to..)
seriously though: there is not much we can base our speculation on. I just hope this one will also take killer-sided early games into account. EGC was pretty much only survivor-nerf (partly really needed), but yeah. Early game snowball should also be looked into. Even if only potato survivors are affected, they are the biggest part of the player base and if they are such potatoes, surely the killer will win anyways.
we can be sure that early genrush will be the main point of this though! (Which is totally fine)
I would not call EGC a Survivor-Nerf. The primary goal is that the game comes to an end, this is the main reason why Endgame Collapse was introduced. It is without a doubt killer-sided, but there needs to be one winner when the Match comes to an end. And it makes more sense that the Entity kills all Survivors instead of letting them all escape.
But other than that, it really depends what the change for the beginning of the game is. Most of the games I play as Killer, I lose 2 Gens quite early and win afterwards. Like, I just now got a Blackpip with a 1K as Doctor, because I was too stubborn to chase a Claudette at the start. I split them with my Shock, so 3 Gens got done (chased Claudette because I am running STBFL and would not lose any Stacks when I get my first hook from her).
The other 3 were far easier to get, in the end, everyone was on Death Hook and one of them died. But whos fault is it that they got 3 Gens done? Only mine.
And it would be really sad if I would have had a hand-holding mechanic which would prevent them from escaping and neutralized my mistake at the start.
-
If I remember correctly they did not even talk about Slowdown, just something which will ensure that the start of the game is fun.
It depends what it exactly is, to give an opinion.

The problem is you typically need some way to know where to go next after a hook. BBQ and thrilling are great for that. Some killers have their power they can use. But this guy has neither. He gets a hook then wanders around because you don't know where the next group of survivors is.
It is a simple Trade Off. Want to avoid DS or something like a Pallet Stun? Use his Power.
Want to get some value of PGTW or a BBQ Stack? Hook the Survivor.

That's disappointing. Without pop it might be a rough time. With Ruin being gone pop is the only reliable way to slow gens and this killer has no map pressure.
On top of that not getting the bloodpoint bonus feels bad man.
You can still just hook normally. Pyramid Head does the same when it comes to the Hook Mechanic as every other Killer AND he has a Bonus. So nothing is lost.
-
Nah, this is always happening.
Players play their first match on PTB as or against the new Killer and they are either overpowered or way too weak. The DBD Community will never change on that one.
REAL evidence how strong a Killer is can only be achieved on the Live Server anyway when most people have an idea how to play it/play against it AND good Perk Builds for this Killer have been established. And not those classical PTB Perk Builds aka "My Killer is at Level 6 so I use two of his Perks".

No, it doesn't. You want someone to not go down right after being picked up? Don't pick them up in the Killer's face.
Sometimes there is no other option. But hey, lets dismiss it again as "reckless Survivors doing stupid stuff" instead of just seeing valid arguments, eh?

As if chests weren't irrrelevant enough of a secondary objective. Keys could use some changes, but no need to nerf chests.
THIS is a important point.
Unless someone is injured and needs a Medkit, there is not really any reason to search a Chest.
I am not a big fan of Keys in Chests, but it is not worth to open Chests currently aside from getting a Medkit. Someone even calculated that even a Commodious Toolbox gives less Repair benefit than it took time to search the Chest.

I just played a game to check, White Ward is working as intended. I had an item with addons, played White Ward, escaped, and I kept the item and its addons. There was a fix to it in the last release.
Is there something else going wrong with it?
If it works that way, its good. I know from previous tests that Add Ons are lost when escaping while using a White Ward.
Will test the White Ward again this evening. :)

Bitching about it wont change it.
Thats evident from everything BHVR's done in the past.
So why cry, and not simply adjust?
I mean, I mostly dont use Add Ons anymore, at least not for Flashlights. Simply a yellow Flashlight, nothing else.
The only thing I REALLY want them to change is how White Ward works. It is stupid that a Survivor gets punished while using a White Ward and escaping.
This is like changing the Black Ward to "Killer will lose their Add Ons if they get a 4K".

Again, that is a red herring argument. What are your preferred addons? I'm curious what they are, because apparently they are extremely rare.
Let me guess...toolbox charges? Key preservation? Styptic? lol
Claiming I use red herring arguments and then stating I use Keys - classic.
Low Amp Filaments and that Med Kit Add On which gives 8 Charges and increases Healing Speed a little bit. Both yellow, but really hard to get.
Meanwhile - 5 Bags in my Trapper Bloodweb, three of them purple.

The difference in BP gain is irrelevant and a red herring argument. Killers get more BP because it's 4v1 and they have more to do as part of their objective. It's proportionate.
I dont have any problem that Killers gain more BPs, it is a 1v4, after all. However, the increased BP-Gain combined with only having less than a third of different Add Ons in the Bloodwebs, compared to Survivor make it WAY easier for a Killer to get into a game with their preferred Add On Combination all the time.

ok thanks do u think they will realise the serum skins (skins with orange stuff on it)
Those Skins are in the Shop, you can buy them with Auric Cells aka real money.
IF you want to buy them with Serum, it might be possible that they will do an Event like the last two years where you were able to collect the Serum. Last year they did it (Serum obtainable via the Free Track of the Rift) and you were also able to buy the 2018 Skins with it.
So I would not expect a news about this anytime soon, since it is a few months until Halloween.

I played 20 matches with WGLF and a normal build, Iron will, bond, diverson/ds/sb.
I didnt play not one match where I didnt get 20k points and atleast 2 stacks.
Survivors can get points. Do something other than gens. Heal. Bones. Heal yourself. Take hits.
Ah yes, Dedicating 25% of my Perk Slots to a Perk without any other effect than BP Gain for which I either have to go out of my way and rush for Unhooks or might take Protection Hits which will not benefit my team.
And 20k Points is already quite a decent Survivor Match, while it is a bad Killer Match. Killer is more like 25k Points at least, with BBQ (4 Stacks are basically guaranteed when not complete Potato) 50k Points. On a regular Basis. 20 Games to get to the Cap.
With Bloodwebs which most likely have at least 1 or 2 of the Add Ons a Killer uses on a frequent basis.
Yay. The change was not thought through by the Devs. And saying that this was always intended (after 4 years) and not taking into account the huge difference in BP-Gain between Killers and Survivors shows it even more.
-
@Warcrafter4 said:

Part of the reason for the change was the "win more" aspect of a lot of the stronger add-ons which help you beat the match thus keeping them so you can make the next match easier to win and so on and so forth.
SWF primarily abused this to greatly extend their win streaks and thus causing this change so that everyone suffers due to them.
Survivor Add Ons are basically all nerfed. The only one which is probably better than before is BNP, but only because everything else in regards to toolboxes was made insanely weak (so its not like the BNP became better, but the other stuff got worse).
Just try to get a Low-Amp Filament. It takes a while.

I think a player has their perspective wrong if they believe certain add ons are key to success. A select few can provide a great advantage, but not dramatically turn the tide of a match.
Thats one part of the problem - those "select few" are hard to get. Because Survivor Bloodwebs are flooded with useless stuff.
-
Some Character from a really, really bad Horror Movie released in 2016 or later.
-
@OniWantsYourMacaroni said:
That happens with every perk though.
You use Unbreakable?
Killer never slugs you.
DS?
Killer never tunnels
^ basically this. You remember the times where the Perk would have been good, but not the situations where you had the Perk but it did not get any use.
Like, I am not using Adrenaline, and still I would think "Ok, Adrenaline would have saved me" if it actually would. But if I use Adrenaline I know that will most likely activate it while fully healed and not in a Chase aka it only gives me Exhaustion and a little Sprint Boost.
And well, you cannot know which Perks the Survivors are running, but it can be assumed. One thing are Characters, e.g. a David might potentially have Dead Hard. Or when it comes to behavior. Someone who runs up a Hill in a Chase will have Balanced Landing (or is stupid), someone who runs Quick&Quiet might also run Head On, etc.
-
Well, sadly it is intended that White Ward works like that. So I guess the goal should be that you ######### when you have a White Ward so that you can keep your Add Ons.
And well, ti is considered "fair" that Survivors lose their Add Ons, because Killers lose them as well. Of course we ignore the fact that the Killer gets way more BPs. :>
-
I guess Billy and Bubba will get their Add On Overhaul together. Which is understandable, while Tuning Guide is laughable strong on Billy it is still strong on Bubba but not in a compareable dimension. So I guess because they share many Add Ons, a Rework would only make sense for both. E.g. Cooldown Add Ons on Billy are really good since you traverse the Map and they reduce the Punishment for missed CHainsaw Attacks. Cooldown on Bubba is... not really impactful.
Same goes for Speed, great for Billy, useless for Bubba. In general, only his Chargetime Add Ons are worth running, lol.
So yeah, I guess they will get their Rework together and I am also guessing that we might not need to have to wait that long. Maybe they will say something about that in the Stream tomorrow (might be possible that it is on their Roadmap).
