That's whataboutism and ignoring the issue.
Nah, this is just realizing that the problem is not as big as people want to make it. Nobody can seriously claim that this is happening in a lot of games.
In 5600 hours, I have seen it 4 times - 3 times as Survivor, 1 time as Killer. And I am pretty sure that I am not the exception.
-
Have to agree on that one. It started with Neas Harajuku-Outfit and then there were so many Cosmetics with something on the Back. Like, the cosmetics almost always look stunning, but I am a bit tired of having a backbag, Bag, guitar, whatever on the back all the time. There are quite few cosmetics where nothing is on the Back of the Survivor.
It became a little bit too much lately IMO.
-
IMO good designed Endgame-Perk (unlike some other popular Endgame-Perk..). I dont know about the duration, it looks a little bit short, but it can easily become too long.
Will have to see how it performs on the Live Server, but personally, I would not use it. The thing is, many players already use Corrupt Invervention, using No Way Out as well results in 2 Perks which are not used for the majority of the Match.
-
Really, there is no need to waste any ressources on that. It is happening so rarely, it does not justify to put any work into it, there are far bigger problems where the Devs can work on.
If they DC, they get a penalty and lose all their points. If they are SWF, all other members will also have the penalty. And if they are doing it frequently, it will add up.
Yes, it is annoying. But there are bigger issues that can be worked on.
-
Considering how less Moris are played, it just shows how strong they were. Killers dont care for the animation, they want an easy win with the Mori. This is not the case anymore.
They can still be useful, having a Mori is still better than not having it. E.g. I had the Daily to mori someone with Hag, at one point, I teleported and it was the recently unhooked guy. I was able to Mori them, without any fear of DS. Without the Mori, I either had to risk a DS or had to slug.
But they are not free wins anymore, and this is important.

Ask yourself this: With all the ways people mess with streamers, from generally being unpleasant to straight up breaking the law by doing stuff like DDOSing, swatting and hardcore harassment - don't you think someone would've done that already if it was possible? Certain streamers and internet personalities have some extremely obsessive "hatedoms", making entire communities based on trolling them and disliking them. And I've never ever heard of anything like that happening, when I have no doubt in my mind that someone would've done so if it was possible.
I do however fully support "streamer mode" functions in every game though. It's a win/wIn situation really, even the nicest streamer with the nicest audience might at least one ultra-clown in their audience that thinks harassing people they see on stream is a brilliant idea, it's pretty hard to find and harass someone that is identified as "Meg Thomas" instead of their username. And at the same time it also makes streamsniping less likely if they don't have twitch in their name, so it helps them out at the same time.
^ this.
Streamers are the ones who are asking for a Streamer Mode. And from my experience, if anything, TTVs get more hate than non-TTVs who are playing with a Streamer.
There were countless occasions where I witnessed that some Community-Members of bigger streamers went into smaller Streams to harrass the Streamer, if they did anything what they did not like. Or where non-Streamers went into the Chat of Streamers to complain about them. Or, where Killers simply tried to tunnel off Streamers, just for being a Streamer. There are multiple threads on this Forum about the topic that some players want to make the experience of Streamers miserable, just because they are streaming.
And as said before, I have never experienced it the other way around.
@EntitySpawn said:
TTV players are bad, it's why they need to advertise so badly, like seriously I have never seen a good one and the game cant tell who's streaming or not
This has nothing to do with being good or bad. You can be the best Clown-player in the world, but nobody would notice you if you stream. Just look at Twitch how many Streamers are streaming DBD. And how far you have to scroll down to see the Streamers with 0 viewer (or slightly above 0). You wont find any viewers unless you get hosted by a bigger Streamer or advertise yourself. Which the Streamers do by putting TTV (or similar things) in their name.
Once you have an audience, you dont need that anymore. Some even dont use their Stream-Name anymore. But as a small streamer, you need advertisment.

What's more likely to happen because game companies aren't nuts like the dead by daylight community is they will start putting in their Terms of Service that you accept you may be included in peoples streams and content if you were to show up in their video game.
Exactly. If anything happens, this will be a standard formula in every EULA, meaning that if you dont want to show up in any twitch streams, you will have to stop playing the game. But if you accept the EULA, you give your OK with being broadcasted.

If you think an online persona is not going to way of your actual persona then you are delusional as to technological progress.
Last time I checked I did not hook other people on meathooks. The characters I am playing dont have anything to do with how I actually am.
-
Most TTVs are streaming for 2 viewers or so.
And, in the end, they only see your Character, nothing more. Its not like playing with a Streamer in the Lobby will give out any personal information.
Like, in over 5600 hours I have never ever had the situation where a Streamer or one of their Viewers have contacted me in a negative way after the game. One time a viewer of a Streamer I went against (he Survivor, I was Killer) gave me a Sub, without me ever showing up in the Twitch-Chat.
Yes, I got called an idiot from some guy on Stream. I got called a toxic tryhard for just playing and surviving. Got called a Cheater, because according to the Streamer, it was impossible to know where they were. But even those are pretty rare occasions, most Streamers just play the game.
-
Give it a week and you will not see the Perk anymore. It has so many weaknesses.

P3 Outfit and the skin from the Battlepass are his best skins imo
IMO the Prestige of Oni is Lackluster. For a Killer who is just brutal(appearance, Mori) and has his power connected to blood, there is way too less blood on him.
The Rift-Skin on the other hand just looks awesome. I just hope they fix it that you see the arrows in your PoV when using the Demon Dash.
-
If they are so rare, it just shows how good it was that they got nerfed. This means that most Killers did not care for the animations, but just wanted a really unfair Offering to get easy wins.
I see Moris occasionally. I guess, one or two every other day, most of them Ebonies.

So you completely ignore the fact SWF is strong as hell and voice comms are op and even solos playing with them have huge advantage and focus on bad side (which makes games blanced)? Some people man...
Playing in an SWF does not have so much impact that you need to punish the players for playing with friends. This is what most of the SWFs are - just friends playing together.
And even less Solos should be punished, just because they are matched with SWFs.
-

If you mean i want to nerf swf which will make solos expirience playing with them closer to a 4 solo expirience then yes, sure. I want that
So, a Solo who is playing with a 3 man SWF (which he has no control over) should have to play with teammates who repair at 85% Speed? Yeah, sounds great. /s
Lets punish Solos who play with SWFs...
-
@landromat said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2052615#Comment_2052615
That's the point. Voice comms provide huge advantage so solos have higher chance to win by playing with swf right now
So you want Solos to be affected as well, despite saying something different.
-
@landromat said:
You should not touch killers stats because solos will be having a hard time when playing with 3-2 stacks. Nerf survivors for playing together instead, Like 5% gen progression penalty for each member etc so solos are not affected
...But Solos are affected because they would have teammates who repair slower.
-
You should use Unbreakable as well and hope to get lucky. Maybe a Medkit or WGLF would be an option as well, to heal someone quickly.
I got it in my second game, 1 time picking up another Survivor and 1 time picking myself up. But I guess, being lucky here is a core aspect.

Great idea. Let me just heal in a Chase after getting hit.
No, really, Blood is easier to track. At least for Scratchmarks you can stop running and walk in another way when she is phasing. This does not work with Bloodtrails.

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/237381/decisive-strike-isnt-quite-an-anti-tunnel-perk
Conceptually it is meant to be anti-tunnel perk. The examples you gave are examples of it not being used as such. The new changes to it will solidify it as being an anti-tunnel perk which is what it should be. It should not be granting you immunity to do hook trades without any consequences or sit on a gen for 60 seconds and hop into a locker the moment the killer shows up.
Have you read OPs second example? The new changes dont do anything to make it an Anti-Tunnel Perk, if the Killer does not catch the Survivor in 60 seconds, DS is gone, despite the Survivor getting tunneled.
Let alone that against some Killers, DS does nothing. If I stun a Nurse, Spirit or Blight, they are on me right after the stun again. So DS is mildly annoying in this case, but not a protection from tunneling at all.
-
Yes, should 100% be changed. It is a Perk which rewards Killers for playing poorly and the only thing that can be done to prevent is, is to cleanse Dull Totem for a Perk the Killer might not even have.
Get rid of the Totem Status and make NOED a Perk which rewards playing good. Like, a Killer who did well during the game should get a reward and a Killer who did nothing, should not be rewarded.
Have written it quite often, idea from OhTofu I like:
Remove the Hex-Part and per Hook 0,5% Movement Speed after all Gens are done, after a certain number of Hooks, also the Instadown. Killer who gots lots of Hooks will have a higher reward. The Killer who just facecamps the first person they find will not get a huge reward at all.
And it would remove the need to search for Dull Totems, which can be especially painful when playing Solo on some Maps.
-
Ah, another one of those "Nerf Survivvors"-Threads which are disguised as "Make the game more scary". It wont be scary, really. Maybe at the start, but once you get used to it, you will not be scared anymore.
Like, play Outlast 10 times in a row. And then tell me you are scared at any point. There are people who are playing DBD for thousands of hours, they would not be scared if it would be first person.
Let alone that this is a huge change for a game which is out for almost 5 years. And lets not forget that a huge part of DBD is holding M1 on a Generator, this would be more boring if you cannot look around as freely as possible and spend most of your time looking into the Gen.
-
He is not a low tier Killer. He used to be low Tier, but since they reworked parts of his Kit, he is pretty solid.

Yeah it didnt spawn in all the pallets on storehouse cause it gave the map 4 L wall T walls and as the map is quite small thats not many pallets.
Yes. This can happen on every Map, but it seems to be really common on Storehouse since the Rework (I guess because they removed the two Pallets which always spawned in the Main Building before).
-
Midwich --> Really, those Pallets suck. They are super-bad, they can basically also not be there. They are also already thrown, you dont even need to break them (unless a Survivor has Lithe).
Storehouse-->This happens quite often on Storehouse. When placing all structures, the minimum number of Pallets was not reached. This means that a) you have the minimum numbers of Pallets possible and b) that you have more T/L-Walls than usually, but less Jungle Gyms or Longwalls.
So both are not a big deal.
-
Perks are no counter. Let alone that using one of the worst Perks in the game for one out of 22 Killers is an even worse "counter".
-
First of all, The Game always has been "only pallets, no Windows" basically. Sure, there are some Windows, but not even close as many as on other Maps. So you only have Pallets as Survivor. The Map always had lots of Pallets.
Why they are more - my guess is to compensate for breakable Walls. Those are Deadends as long as the Wall is not broken or the Gen is not done next to the Door, so a bunch of Pallets are not useable at the start of the game. So I guess they compensated for this by adding more Pallets.
IMO The Game is a prime example why not every Map needs breakable Walls and if they remove those from The Game, they can also remove some Pallets.
-
Not really a good idea. This would basically reward the Killer for playing poorly and the Survivors for playing poorly as well (as you said). I dont think that a Killer who fails to apply pressure should get his hand hold. And Survivors who go down like flies should not get to speed up their Objective (aka the easy part of Survivor).

How the devs think spirit doesn’t need a nerf as opposed to Freddy is perplexing
I guess because they nerfed her a few months ago. I mean, obviously she needs a Nerf and she will most likely get one in the future. I mean, if they nerf Billy, they will nerf Spirit as well.
But I would not expect anything anytime soon, the next Killers are Demo, Freddy and Huntress, so if anything, Spirit can only come after those three.
-
Well, I can understand this feeling. I played Spirit a lot at some point, but I dont enjoy playing her anymore. It just does not feel rewarding to get Downs with her, and I am not even running Stridor (I try to not run things which I dont like personally).
I have more fun with M1-Killers most of the time, the games are more difficult, but it feels more rewarding.

I agree with that, if you invest time into a Killer (or Survivor) there will be a point where you are better off not playing because queue times will be so long.
However, I was more referring to the average Red Rank Survivor nowadays. Personally, I think that 80% of people in Red Ranks are extremely boosted by the lack of a real Rank Reset and by the pip system. So, when they are matched with people with high MMR, shouldn't they drop out of that skill bracket?
Yes, this will happen. But also depends on how much they got boosted by the non-existing Rank Reset. Like, there are probably players in Red Ranks who are in those Ranks because you do not get set back that much anymore. But there are also other players, who are in Red Ranks, because of those players who are only in Red Ranks who do not get set back much due to Rank Reset.
They are better than the first group, but still not good. Those will probably drop pretty fast, since they dont have anymore potatoes to capitalize on. It is quite likely that many players will have a bunch of bad games before their MMR settles in a more "reasonable" zone for their skill level. For some it will go faster, others will probably take longer (and have more bad games).

Well they are clearly collecting MMR for survivors as well; and as a function of playing in a SWF your MMR will be boosted because you are winning most of the games.
And I’ll be blunt, if it goes live the majority of the killer roster is dead. You can only play nurse, spirit, or blight into the object of obsession 14+ second chance perk meta SWFs to have a prayer. And it’s a miserable experience even when you win. I will probably play the game a lot less if it goes live.
This is correct, the same should happen to Survivors as well. If you are playing on a good Level (which most of the time only applies for coordinated 4 man SWFs), you will stomp a lot of Killers. When MMR is switched on, you will have to wait for a Top Level-Killer.
I agree tho that most Killers at highest Level will not be viable. But this only applies to the highest Level, for the vast majority of players, they should be fine.
@Pulsar said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2049692#Comment_2049692
Shouldn't they get kicked out of high MMR games eventually though?
Yes. But who knows how long this will take? I mean, I just take Dowsey as an extreme example here - 879 Kills on Twins, 1 Escape. Very high Twins-MMR, he only got into a Lobby after 2 hours and only because a 4 man Tournament-SWF sniped him. And he lost, because he was playing Twins.
Sure he will eventually get out of this MMR-Range, but should he really have to wait for hours in the Lobby to find a Tournament-SWF who beats him back into good queue times?
And I am pretty sure other Content Creators or Killer Mains in general will have the same problem, as long as they are not good with a strong Killer. Players like Samantha the Spirit will be fine probably (just taking her as an example here, amazing Spirit Main, not really the most enjoyable experience to play against her tho, feeling like a Baby Survivor again). But if I look at players like TheEntityLeftHand or Scorpionz, they might be in trouble since they are currently winning many games with their Main Killers and if MMR drops, they will be really high and their Killers not be capable of dealing with those Survivors.
Which would not be a big problem currently, because they dont go against super strong SWFs all the time. But with MMR this can really be a pain.
But I cannot stress it enough, for the average Killer or Survivor player not much will change. But for people really dedicated to their Main Killer (if it is not Nurse or Spirit) or really strong Survivors, MMR will probably kill the game for them.

This was an accurate representation of how MMR went for me as well. Literally SWF after SWF along with bad Q times for killer and most games were under 5-6 minutes long. It was literally terrible.
The big problem with MMR is that it gathers information already. This means that good players will still go against bad players currently and their MMR will be boosted up. Not by much per game, but it will steadily increase (if it calculates correctly, you will play against bad players which dont increase your MMR that much, but the longer it gathers data, the more increase will happen).
And if MMR is active, you will go against really strong players all of the sudden. And since those are rare, you will have long queue times, because from one moment to the other, the number of suitable opponents is really small.
So yeah, I guess currently many players get boosted by the majority of bad Players in high Ranks and when MMR hits live, they will have high MMR.
(If I am not mistaken with that one, but it looks like BHVR cannot win with their MMR-system)

Just curious, why is that even an argument? I have not seen Spirit Fury for months. And rarely run into Enduring as well.
@Topic:
It is clearly outclassed by Sprint Burst and Dead Hard and really weak. Head On and maybe Balanced Landing might be the only Perks who are weaker. However, there was not that much left to create a new Exhaustion Perk.
I dont think it will see much use, Killers can counter it by respecting Pallets, it is only really useful at unsafe Pallets (because you want to stay on the safe ones) and you might even get a Killer who is unlikely to get stunned (Spirit, Nurse, Hag, Huntress, Deathslinger, as examples). Let alone that Latency can easily mean that the Survivor will get hit.

Because bad survivors are a non factor when it comes to balance.
Why would you look at a game and say it is balanced when the other 3 survivors clearly sat in a corner picking their nose while you chased someone for 30 to 60 seconds. and if they can't even get 30 seconds out of you at the start of the game with all pallets available then that speaks volumes about the caliber of survivors you are against.
Bad players (both Killer and Survivor) need to be considered as well. I mean, we can balance the game around Top Tier SWFs. Then also please balance it around Top Killer players. And in the end, 99% of the playerbase will have a miserable experience and the 1% which is good enough for DBD will have fun games. Yay.
But without a functional Ranking System, balance cannot be achieved at all. Even with a functional system, DBD will never be balanced. However, currently there are players in Red Ranks which dont belong there, because ranking up is way too easy. And since you dont rank down, they are back in Red Ranks immediatly. And this creates matches where most players dont even know that they are playing DBD, basically.
And I dont have any hope in MMR. Maybe it will work for Joe Average, but from my experience with the most recent test, not really. (I got Baby Survivors as Billy, who I play somewhat regular, and with that one Nurse game (I dont play her much, but I am also terrible with her) I got a 3 man SWF with Haddonfield-Offering and Object)
And, to come back to 3-4 minute games - if someone is in Red Ranks and gets those games on a regular basis, they dont belong into Red Ranks. However, the Ranking System is so bad that those players cannot really derank, because the Rank Reset only sets them back to purple.
-
When I used No Mither frequently, I used this build:
No Mither-->Obviously
Dead Hard-->Works well with No Mither.
DS-->You have a really high chance to get tunneled because you are making yourself weak.
Iron Will-->Paired with no Mither you dont make any sounds even against Stridor. Also you cannot go on many chases, so you want to be as stealthy as possible.

Sorry that you still struggle playing Killer. Really, I am not even good at Killer and still manage to win most of my games. And when I look at some of the Survivors I get (either as Killer or as Survivor), I really dont understand how people can lose to those guys.
But I know, it is totally logical that players say that it is too easy to Rank up as Survivor, so that so many bad players are in Red Ranks, still they claim that playing Killer is hard. This does not add up.
Killer is harder than Survivor, but DBD overall is a really easy game.

Yes but no. Before the amount of pallets wasn't that awful at least. Now I feel like every possible pallet spawn is filled and I wonder if something is bugged or idk.
Anyway from now on I'm just going AFK every single time I get sent to this map. I don't care if I get banned, I want to play a game, not braindead pallet breaking simulator. And I feel everyone should do this.
The issue is bad teams get absolutely demolished on this map because it's pretty small and squeezed in so I guess the "StAtS" show that it's killer-sided.
I mean, you complained about The Game being full of safe Pallets with no Windows. This was always the case.
And the Pallets are probably there to compensate for Deadends which can happen because of breakable Walls. IMO they should remove the Breakable Walls (it is fine if The Game does not have any of them) and remove the Pallets they added to compensate.
But in the end, you will have the same boring gameplay like always on this map - just running around safe Pallets.
-
I mean, this is how The Game always has been. It was always boring gameplay, just looping safe Pallets.

Also, I guess it is a pain in the ass to balance. Something which might just help a Killer like Trapper can be completely out of place on Spirit. DBD in general is hard to balance, because you have so different strength Levels on Killers, so buffing Killers in general might be alright and good for some, but way too much for others.
(And well, the existence of Corrupt Intervention is another point, and IMO it is always worth a Perk Slot)

Yes, but should a player really have 3-4 minute matches just cause they are not that experienced? In those kind of matches you barely are able to learn anything.
Ideally matches should never be shorter then 5 minutes. Doesn't matter how good or bad you are. And that counts for killer and survivor.
I have no clue what the solution is to make this happen if there even is a solution. But the game would be so much better if extremly short matches just didn't exist period.
Ideally it should not happen, this is true. But you cannot hand hold everyone, if someone has still problems playing Killer, they should really consider to git gud. Killer got so much easier, IMO it is a little bit too easy now.
And you will always have people asking for more and more.
-
Very solid Killer. The best Killer to use STBFL and IMO it is mandatory on him. Already a difference if a Demo has it or not (it will not change the outcome of a game in a significant way, but it is missing if you dont have it).
His Add Ons are his biggest flaw, they are not really useful, aside from the browns (especially Rat Liver) and yellows. I think I have used Deer Lungs a few times as a green, but other than that, I never go higher than yellow on him and most of the time just for brown Add Ons.
-
If it is a fatshame only for Killers, it is unintentional. Those come up from time to time, but are usually fixed quite fast.

The Double Pallets are actually good for the Killer. This means that you have the minimum number of Pallets, so most likely there are way more T/L-Walls than usual and less Jungle Gyms.
This happens quite often on Storehouse.
