DBD Facts:
SWF is not balanced for this game. I would like to hear a developer explain that it is.
The rest of the mechanics/perks/add-ons simply come down to competitive play.
I don't play survivor often but when I do, I don't see nearly as much name calling , death threatening and cursing coming from the killer side.
It always comes from survivors that got killed (or a swf of one that got killed)....be it one or four k.
If there is a 4k, I can count on name calling and post chat harassment and I would bet none of those folks would dare say those things to my (or anyone's) face irl

Under the law of hypocrisy, you are now no longer able to complain about DS, have fun!I have never once complained about DS and you clearly didn't read the rest of my posts in this thread (or even the first post).

It's the WORST. I don't even know where to begin with how ridiculous it is. It quite literally does the opposite of what I am trying to do.

Baby survivors need their hand out and "oh #########" card.
If we could close it, they might cry and not get blood points.
If killer is doing well, survivor still needs a panic button and way to easy ecape.
Killer's would be too overpowered if survivor wasn't given every possible chance to win without having to use brain or skill.

Survivor have these weird doublestandards which come from the wrong assumption that the killer is the powerrole of the game and would not need to use all the tools available.
Survivor "need" to use every cheesy crutch they can get, but killer should play "fair" and give them extra chances.
This is far from the truth, but they either don't get it or deny it even if they know it.I agree and I just don't understand. I get DS'd or pallet looped and it blows but it is a viable.mechanic. I suck it up and reroll the next game.
I tunnel or camp or run NOED and I am told to kill myself.
In what world would telling someone to "kill themselves" be ok? You'd even be banned from Twitter for saying that....yet somehow, in dbd, it is ok if I run a specific perk.
Lol....I just don't understand this generation. Or the developers that allow this in their in game chat.
I genuinely believe some of these survivors need help.
Is this cyber bullying lol?
Next survivor to bully me...I am telling Michelle Obama!!!

I think that if u had already a bad day don't play dbd at all cuz you will go insane and punch your screen or tv or whatever platform you play on so my point is that you under perform when you are stressed and angry so rather go watch dbd from youtube or play something else so your mentalhealth won't decrease... Lol... Pls feel free to share your WORST and most fustrating games you have played.
off my most frustrating game started with a last second 4 flashlight switch. FUN
i spent the entire game getting blinded every second. my hex ruin was broken in less than 10 seconds and 34 generators went off simultaneously then when the last 3 were all at 99% i couldn't find anyone after searching i fianlly found all of them huddled in a corner teabagging and i soon as i get near boom flashlights and pallets and then the exit gates open and all 4 are teabagging and taunting and i pop evil within 3 and using my tombstone i try to mori the closest one but instead 3 flashlights peirce my retinas interrupting the animation i manage to down one but as soon as i pick him up blinded again somehow i finally carried one to a hook only to get decisive strikes then i grab another blinded this goes on for 10 minutes all of them had deciesive strike FUN and as soon as i manage to get one to a hook body block and when i turn around guess hat they all have saboteur and every hook nearby is broken finally one last flashlight blind and all 4 escape. FUCVK THAT GAME it asted an hour of my life poor michael will never get his sight back. talk about toxic survivor though
I feel your pain man...It is REALLY unfortunate to have 4 FL, DS, Sabo, SB, SC a hole survivors... They always suck my life force and mentalhealth to 0%
It really does
There should be a separate league for SWF or at least some penalty (ie can't rank up, no bps). It is the one in game allowed !mechanic that I sincerely disagree with.
Pallet looping, tea bag taunting, ds, NOED, camoing...these are all viable and allowed mechanics that can be countered.
But swf is something absolutely in a different league. Not sure why it is allowed in general matches.
I would love for a developer to explain how it is balanced.

How about "don't be the first on the hook"? Do not jump the very first gen you see. Do not run towards the nearest objective. Try to play stealthy until you know who the killer is and actually where? Why does it always boil down to "get gud" Sometimes ######### just happens. There are times when you will be spotted even if you try to be stealthy. You can't win EVERY game.
[BAD WORD] lol at these killers whose excuse is always "dont be caught". Well fine, next time you cry about gen rush the answer will be "dont get gen rushed".
Where have I been bitter?
If someone is complaining to "always get caught first" and "always get camped", maybe he should consider my ideas.
It's not just "git gud", but maybe he should "adapt/adjust" his way to play.
If it only happens every couple of matches, you can say "crap happens" and get over it, but if that happens to you often and you get frustrated about it, look for a way what YOU can do first ingame, before you come crying to the forum.
And about your crappy little "lol those killers"... we killer get the same stuff all the time from survivor player, "Just break the pallet"... "change target if the loop you"... "tunnel em before they heal"..."Mindgame them"... yadayada.
So my suggestion is actually something that is not just a meme, but an advice, while 99% of all survivor advice is just a blatant lie or complete missunderstanding of the game.
Where did I say I "always get caught?"
Sometimes it's me, sometimes it's other people. Its called having empathy ya know, I can relate to how crappy it is for that person who got unlucky, hooked early and is now being facecamped so will get no points and a de-pip.
"Gen rushing" isn't an answer. It's only an option in SWF. If you play solo you have no control over the two other members of your team wasting time going in for the save and getting downed. Sometimes they do it just because they feel a moral sense of duty to do it. ######### killers take advantage of this.
It happens far too often. This is the problem with killers, they all cry about SWF but so many of them play in a way which makes people feel like they only can play with friends to have an enjoyable experience.
GOOD killers take advantage of it. Not my fault if 2 survivors rush the hook 3 seconds after I put someone there. Blame them. They are the ones that ki!led you.
Swf isn't required to do gens while the killer is camping. Or find chests. Or do totems. Goods survivors take advantage of a killer wasting time face camping.
Sucks for the one on the hook, but if it is really just bum luck, there is always next game. But if this is happening consistently for you, you may have to adapt your play style.
Yes people rushing unhooks in front of the killer is a common problem. The survivors take full blame for that.
As do killers who facecamp for the sake of it when nobody is there.
Again you can't help what other survivors do. You cant stop them rushing unhooks. You can't stop them from playing altruistic against a camping killer.
You're entirely at the mercy of the matchmaking system. So then you play more SWF, but then more killers complain about SWF etc it's a vicious cycle.
Yes. This makes sense and is very true.
We are all just using the tools the games gives us, be it pallet looping, face camping, DS, NOED, or anything else that is frustrating....It's all part of the game and so long as it is allowed....we better find a way to counter it.
So far, there is no counter for coordinated (voice commed) SWF. This is something BHVR needs to address.

I work with a lot of special needs kids and they coaxed me into trying Minecraft and Roblox (not kidding or being sarcastic).
The games were fun, but fairly simplistic. Not my cup tea but if you struggle with this (and it seems like you do struggle with the steep learning curve), you may want to give those a shot. There are TONS of mods for them too.
It might be more your style.

Anonymity.
People say things they are way too insecure to say in real life.
I feel bad for them because their self esteem is probably really low.

Had an aweful game against swf. Would.have been a zerok...But thanks to NOED and a little artful camping it became a 2k.
Was called all sorts of crap after game.
Hey...Baby survivors: I am just using the tools the game gives me, same as you (I got Ds and pallet looped all game long..even after letting an event farmer free after I saw she was milking) Lol.
You don't like it? Go play Torchlight or Farmville or something.

It's not fair. I see a gen, I kick it and run off, like 5 seconds later someone is back repairing it!!! I come kick it again and repeat! Camping generators is a toxic play style and should be banned. Makes it SO unfun for the killer who JUST kicked that gen.Tsulan said:I'm still waiting for the patch that punishes survivors for staying close to a almost repaired gen.
Please don't camp and tunnel gens.
Please don't camp and tunnel your fellow teammates.
It kills the fun.
Btw. Have you tried deceit? There the monster can insta kill you and the match took less time than the loading screen.
Now THAT'S frustrating. Not the 40 second chances you get in DbD.
Baby survivors gen camping!!! Reported!!!
It's not fair and I demand a nerf to gen camping! -
If the killer camps, you gen rush. It's pretty easy. But people still like to cry about camping as if it some "easy mode" killers have.The_Crusader said:

Man, people just complain about everything these days.."Games too hard, killer camped, I need a new diaper!!"
Jeez. Play the game. -
Billy is very straightforward. Don't try to get chainsaw kills (it's hard to steer) but good use of speed. He's a good straightforward killer.
It took me a bit to learn how chainsaws work in this game but spend a game or two practicing (holding the m2 button and seeing whathaopens)
Same with huntress. Spend a few hatches seeing how the the charge/throw works and don't worry about losing.
This game has a learning curve to it that is great, but once you get the feel for different killers, it becomes a lot more fun. -
How old are the people that play em is the real question!
-
Anybody else noticing nicer survivors though lately?
As my q's have gotten longer, I am getting more and more survivors that let me hook on blighted hooks. The swf groups are still merciless but I have gotten almost NO insults/death threats or pleads to commit suicide in post game chat for the last 2-3 days.
I am seeing less offerings (often mine is the only one), also maybe the survivors feel bad that I am still collecting vials lol. -
I have always liked venom....Too bad his new movie (the one loosely based on the Marvel character) was aweful.
He's cool but a terrible fit for this game. They probably couldn't afford the rights anyway. -
Take up whittling and whittle a likeness of your favorite killer.
-
Try PC. I play with a high def monitor and surround sound headphones.
It is pretty fun. -
Double Freddys
You know why. -
Depends on the killer and goa!s. When leveling, I almost always take it.
I love it for leather face. It shows me when to camp and when to bust @$$ across the map. -
NOED (sorry,it's a perk, but grabbing those tbagging survivors in the exit...Just so worth it, even if they call me Baby killer lol.)
-
If you are called names, it means you did well.
If you are told to k!ll ur self then you did GREAT.
For either side.
When babies throw the salt, hold out your popcorn and enjoy the show! -
I don't care much for the cosmetics...Too bright.
So if I even get my vials....don't really care because the cosmetics will sit there.
Wish they would have done something actually Halloween themed (movie OR holiday) -
This discussion is bonkers.
I have played level one Billy with no add-ons or offerings and 4kd and 0kd against varying survivors.
This game has an awesome learning curve. If you are teamed well and know how to counter Billy, you will do fine (I have seen it).
If you don't understand mechanics and fail to counter, you will die.
His speed is only a benefit in the right hands. It's a hindrance in the wrong.
The nerfs you suggest would cater to the lowest denominator and would alienate those survivors who are good against him (like a participation award).
This is just another thread in a pvp game from someone crying for more handouts because he does not do well in a specific scenario. Let's move on. -
I would love an AI mode like Heroes of the Storm!
I hate playing against humans who name call, death threat, teabag and taunt. a good ai mode would seal the deal for me.I
Take my money NOW -
I have gotten a 2 person swf group (with 2 solos) before and it's a bonus because if one of the swf dc's, the other will too.I
Two for the price of one! -
Honeymoon phase is over. Most of the hardcore players that know to farm have what they need so we are back to normal for the most part.
I'm not maxed and if I see someone farming I try to help, but otherwise, after the first weekend allthe"hardcores " have what they need and all The babies crying about it being too slow of a grind have realised they still have a week and a half left and they are already capped too. -
When I am LF camping, this is amazing!jwentzel987 said:It's about as useful as the fucktards who think it's a brilliant idea to immediately heal a survivor after unhooking them when the killer is right there.
And I camp HARD!!! -
I learned to just play the game.
I'll be lucky to get 20 vials...But then again, there is only one item I remotely want....so if guess this event worked well. If I wanted the rest bad enough, I would probably spend real $ on it to support the game....But until there are some.really great styles*, I shall continue to play for free.
*Or killer! Gimme a triplet/twin kid or doll killer or a scarecrow/pumpkinhead killer and you can haz my$$ -
Somebody wasn't paying attention in language arts class...
You should Google "punctuation". Then learn the 1st grade level of it.
People would actually learn you more seriously if you wrote more better.
As is...I am guessing this is a troll post cuz he don't write good. -
I don't really feel like "hallowed blight" is all that "Halloween" themed. Imo, it fits either fall or spring theme but I was hoping for something different for Halloween.
That's just my opinion though. I don't know exactly what I was expecting for a Halloween theme in this game, but it sure wasn't hallowed blight.
Honestly, this event itself is fine and a fun grind, but it could have been done just about ANY time of year (well...maybe not christmas). -
No terror radius. It's silly. Hear the killer's heartbeat??? Lol what?
Too be honest, it's not needed. That's why survivors have 360 degree camera.
The whole terror radius/heartbeat thing needs to be scrapped. Most killers make.enough sound just walking and some can be seen a mile away(Myers).
Just get rid of it. -
What does LGBTQ or gender or nudity have to do with this game? Is there some story line I am missing or political message I missed?
We are playing a game about humans trapped in a hellscape with murderous creatures and each game they are impaled on hooks or bled out through the use of chainsaws, hammers, knives and other utensils (Depicted quite graphically) Isn't our infatuation with virtual brutal murder a more relevant issue (as it applies to this game) than the killers' clothing?
And if female clothing is wrong, how would having a half nude male killer make it right? Does swinging the pendulum in the opposite direction make it right for you?
Jesus. Just play the game and make the social injustice arguments on a forum that might actually draw attention from folks who can make a change.
This is dead by daylight. Not the UN. -
Oh gotcha, that actually makes sense. That actually sounds like too much info (Not being sarcastic). the only benefit it seems would be in scenarios not intended by devs (I assume).CoolAKn said:@Attackfrog said:
I would like it. Have they ever given a reason why they dont? (Other than too much HUD ruins the immersion/atmosphere...which I don't believe would be too much btw)One large factor in its exclusion is that some killers would use it to tunnel survivors that are dead on hook to secure a kill. If it was visible only to survivors, it would help in rescue efforts, like "the person that's dead on hook is being chased, I'll try to take the heat off of them," or "I'm at the Exit Gate, and that person just got downed across the map and picked up. Since they are dead on hook, there's no point in trying to rescue them."
I do understand @pemberley point that it would only be useful for killers who DON'T intend to kill survivors, like I have. Once during the BBQ Event, there were 2 Claudettes. There were 3 event hooks, and I know I hooked 2 Claudettes, and I had downed one of them to put them on the third hook, when I found out that she was the only one I hooked.
Not knowing makes for a different game and forces the player to keep track. -
Jesus now we are being told we are playing wrong even when following rules?
I bet you're real fun in Vegas!
"Dealers should not bet if winning hand. Other players should not hide their cards from my eyes" -
The doll/child killer could also have an animation where they throw a rope over and pull them up and then lower them into the hook (and nevermind the physics, for those of you that are going to nitpick the body weight differential!!! It's still a game!)
-
Lol this thread again.
"Killer's have it so easy. Killer's overpowered. I can't win. I m hungry. I need a fresh diaper."
This game has a few problems but this event isnt one of them. Spend more time in the game and less complaining and you will find ways to farm and get your vials....it's only day 3. -
I have had a total of two 4ks (for the entire time I have been playing, even in beta...ever) where the survivors only comment was "gg".
The rest are death threats and told to commit suicide and get cancer etc etcetc no matter how you play.
Their salty tears are my reward I guess. Now I actually revel in it, knowing how upset they are IRL gives me a sort of bonus satisfaction. Makes the immersion more real! I almost CRAVE it!!! -
I would like it. Have they ever given a reason why they dont? (Other than too much HUD ruins the immersion/atmosphere...which I don't believe would be too much btw)
-
Lol could be that the killer was just being a killer and you were easiest to catch. Or maybe he was do I g a daily (I do all sorts of weird sh!t when I am after my dailies).
Events are weird because sometimes you don't know if they want to farm or play. And if they start out farming but don't let you get your hooks too...well that is just sh!ttty and maybe he had that happen a few too many times and was taking it out on you.
Unless someone violates ToS or hacks....there is no "wrong" way to play, like it or not. -
I read a lot of the complaints about this event and lol myself to sleep. The real problem is some people start crying and making threads when they don't fill their vial cap in the first two days.
Then they cry when they run into people that don't play the way they like.
Lol it's an online game and the developers are giving you a chance to earn free cosmetics.
If it is that terrible of a grind, just buy them. -
If I see 5 petal offerings, I usually ease up to start to see if they want to farm or play. If they are gen rushing, it's a sign for typical game but if 2-3 survivors are doing flowers, I know it's a farm and (sometimes) we all work together and it is quite productive.linglingen said:@Zagrid said:

I have had best luck being wraith to get survivors to farm with me.
It's like being uncloaked is the universal sign for "let's do event stuf"
there has to be about 4-5 event offerings though...that is how you know.
If mine is the only one...it means it's a normal game! -
I pivot about 90 deg the opposite way they juke and hit (not lunge).
With our limited pov but the assumed radius of someone's arm swinging a weapons, it usually works out. But sometimes doesn't.
Survivors like to cry about the "hit box"but they forget that we have a limited (tunnel) pov and a real killer could use peripheral vision and adjust accordingly.
Survivors tend to ask for hand outs and easy escapes but they often forget we only have first person PoV, and there should be an accommodation for swing radius. (We don't have a top down pov to be able to aim and anticipate.
The hit box seems pretty accurate at the moment, but a good juker will/should out maneuver us.
Just remember: survivors like things to be "realistic" when in their favor. Right now, the hit box is realistic (in our favor) so survivor mains will cry (and call us names or complain about our internet and make every excuse they can concoct...etc etc). If we are missing (I certainly do) it is our own fault and we just need a little more practice. -
I have had a couple amazing games tonight where all 4 survivors "got it". We went from node to hook to node and got every one of em! Survivors rotated hooks, I stood in front of pallets then broke em, last survivor even let me down him at the hatch.
Honestly, I think it was because I was wraith. It's easy to show you want event with him....Just don't cloak and stand.in front of a pustuls and gesture toward it.
I tried with Mike and the Doc but it was a lot more tricky. I guess people just don't trust those guys.
Also...if the game starts with 5 event offerings...it's is clearly a farm. When I am the only one offering petals...it's game on. -
I totally get. I can't count how many times I have been one spot away from the perk I wanted or to the next level and I had just run out of bloodshards.
The 7k would get you there before having to play through another game. It's frustrating.
If it makes you feel any better, I had to buy the Freddy one. Waste of bloodpoints.
