I don’t know much about sport but Tom Brady plays in a competitive league for money. Dbd is a video game designed to waste time
One is competitive one isn’t
And yet he's less salty when he loses than people on here who don't risk losing millions of dollars in future earnings due to a few bad games.
If you don't like the comparison that much, just pretend I said Jimmy Johnson from high school football

Tunneling will always be the goal in a game where it's possible to remove one of your opponents for the rest of the match and you are literally in a race against time.
Players need to accept that tunneling is always going to be a thing and there's not a damn thing you can do about it. getting mad certainly hasn't caused it to go away, so stop wasting your energy.
Focus on being a better teammate - take responsiblity for your rescues even if it means you have to sacrifice a hook state on yourself to do it.
If you find that boring and can't accept that - then I'm afraid you just might be in the wrong game and may need to find another title that suits you better. I'm not saying that to be mean. Games should be fun - and if the game's failure states enrage you, then you shouldn't be playing it.
Or take regular breaks. There is reasons why I never play this game more than a couple dozen hours a month now...
Well said, also excellent choice for profile pic

While active, Decisive Strike should allow the survivor to fully recover from the dying state. This would alleviate the number of perks slots required to help counter tunneling.
----
The killer needs to equip zero perks to camp or tunnel. The survivors have to equip three perks to counter both (Borrowed Time, Decisive Strike, and Unbreakable). Not only does this take up 3/4 of a survivor's perk slots, but because each survivor can be camped and tunneled all 4 survivors would have to use up three perk slots. That, and DS + Unbreakable doesn't fully counter tunneling; it just makes it harder for the killer to do it quickly.
Let DS allow survivors to recover from dying. If DS has deactivated for the rest of the match after stunning or failing, then the survivor cannot fully recover from dying with DS. Meanwhile, this makes Unbreakable less powerful, so buff Unbreakable and let it be used more than once (on a cooldown). No Mither can stay as is because it has no cooldown, prevents blood pools, and reduces injury noise.
You've got 3 teammates who all have the ability to heal you fully without any perks or add-ons whatsoever, isn't that enough free healing?

You’re comparing dbd players and Tom Brady what?
Why not? I needed a quarterback everyone knew, no matter where they are. I could say timmy from little league I guess to be more accurate, but I went for the easier comparison. (Full disclosure I only know the names of 3 quarterbacks, and of those 3 he's the only one who's still playing)

Just make it have a time limit (like adrenaline) or based off of tokens, such as getting four hooks on four separate survivors gives you four uses of NOED.
Sure, as long as it's no longer a hex that can be destroyed before it even has a chance to activate.
-
@KingFrost said:
NoED doesn't even discourage gen rush. It just encourages you to get out ASAP, and increases the kill rate. I think it needs some reworking, though I'm not sure in what way exactly.
10% speed increase and aura reveal after 30 seconds.
That is sincerely the change I would make. You either stop it from activating, or you haul ass to kill it or get out.

Not to mention its the only Meta obsession perk on the survivors side apart from object so if its used less more killers will be given free reign to tunnel in more games.
I agree with this post so much because most people don't realise the presence of DS in as many game as possible is important because the devs started to treat it like a mechanic to combat an issue rather than a perk, which is annoying but if its usage decreases and there's less a threat of it then it become unhealthy for the game its why i want unbreakable and soulgard nerfed instead to stop the small pp meta but keep DS in games.
If you want an obsession in the match, bring an obsession perk. You have 4 Survivors, that's 16 slots for just one of you to solve your own problem instead of whining for a free effect.
-
@fr0sty1223 said:
Now I know people are going to say that it’s meant to counter gen rushing and that I should just cleanse the hex and I agree with both of those and am in no way saying that NOED is op. The issue I have with NOED is that it forces a play style for the survivors that is unhealthy. In the cases where you cannot find the totem before the gens get done (which is incredibly common when playing with randoms) after the exit gates are powered or opened you have to play super selfishly or die. If someone is hooked it is almost always the better option to just leave instead of looking for the hex or unhooking the survivor. That fact that NOED encourages survivors to play selfishly is a problem and that needs to be addressed as survivors should be encourages to work together and help one another.
As a survivor you are meant to decide whether to save yourself or play for the team. NOED brings that choice into sharp focus. It's exactly the point of the game.

Did I ever complained about noed for you to say that? Nice try.
Thing is, Genrush has counters (tinkerer, ruin, rancor and those are atop of my head) while tunneling only has 2 perks against it, borrowed time and DS, borrowed time is very reliant on a teammate which hideous for solo players, plus, you can wait for 10 seconds and chase down the survivor. DS is now getting nerfed so there are no perks (especially for solo players) to prevent tunneling _Briefly_
F for performance, A+ for trying.
It's the same argument.
Both are tactics within the game. Both have perks that serve to help counter them, neither is actually meant to be "punished" in any way.
Look at it this way. Camping happens, but if you camp a hook, you will lose points and get a poor chaser medal.
Tunnel at least the first Survivor out? You're well on your way to 4 iridescent medals and a juicy load of BP. Why? Because it's a tactic BHVR has no interest in stopping, it's meant to be part of the game, just like rushing gens.
-
@Adeloo said:
Well the perk needed nerf to not be abusable and use as a weapon by survivors.
BUT i do have to agree that keeping it a 1 time use perk is a bad choice as it doesn't punish a tunneling killer, that can just eat the DS and keep chasing downing the survivor until death. A good balance would be to have it usable twice, with a 3 sec stun the first time and a 5 sec stun the second time. To truly punish tunneling and not affect any killer that don't tunnel.
Why should a killer be punished for killing Survivors? Nowhere in any of the game rules or tutorials or anywhere else does it say "don't attack a survivor who just got unhooked" in fact the tutorial doesn't let you attack the next Survivor until you killed the first, which is tunneling.
-
@Zixology said:
Tunneling shouldn't even require a perk to counter. I shouldn't have to use a perk to be allowed to play the game instead of spending the whole time on a hook.
It doesn't take a perk.
It takes a team. You either have a team who will take the aggro, or you don't. Getting tunneled out of the game? Blame the 3 teammates who let it happen and did nothing to stop it.
-
@HexSweetie said:
This isn’t your normal rant about DS, just here to state my opinion, I personally don’t think the nerf is healthy at all for the game, you see, this game encourages tunneling by not punishing the tunnelers but also has a perk that discourages tunneling..? (like what?) and now suddenly everyone complains about that one perk that keeps the game healthy? despite being very situational and a one time use—
At that point I don’t see any reason to not to tunnel, if that’s what you’re aiming for then I will gladly cheese my games by tunneling and I encourage everyone to do the same.
Bravo bhvr
I don't get it. This game does nothing to punish genrushers but also has a perk to stop genrushing (NOED) like what? And now everyone wants to complain about that one perk that keeps the game healthy? Despite it being very situational and able to be removed before it even triggers.
You know what the real problem is? People want to believe that tunneling is bad. The killer kills, the perk exists to buy you a bit of time, but at the end of the day the killer has 4 targets and full discretion in how to eliminate them. Does it suck being taken out first? Sure. Just like it sucks to be the QB and get sacked before you can even get a pass off. Too bad.

Teen.
Movies and tv are rated pg-13, the equivalent for games is Teen. The same rating as Jedi: Fallen Order, which I would not categorize as a childish game, especially given the themes of PTSD that weave through the story.

Sorry, I realised it's actually Kindred that I have been using, not Empathy - so I need to consider what to swap out SC for. Still Tier 2 perks at this point on Meg. Perhaps swap the SC out for Inner Strength - I always try to cleanse totems anyway so would suit how I play, plus can bounce into a locker with Q&Q.
No worries, lots of perks to learn and keep track of as you are starting out :)
Inner strength is one of my favorites, it has utility and it helps teach totem spawns by making sure you always have a reason to keep an eye out for them.

I just got Inner Strength from the Shrine but I don't have Pharmacy or Second Wind so can't use them - I do have Botany but I think based on what people have said I should just ditch Self-Care completely.
I would remove self care and take kindred instead. It shows the survivors whenever one is hooked, so in solo groups you can figure out who is going for the save, and shows the killer if he's close to the hook so you know if it's worth going for the save.

I think the frustration is more from the fact that the devs make such little little tiny changes and instead of giving them as they are done and needed, they make us wait for months or weeks. Usually for something not worth the wait either. Ds nerf and other things have been ready for weeks, and we have had to wait this long for them, with little to no changes that warrant such a wait time. Any other dev team or game would do a small patch to introduce these small changes into the game, while chapters should be big and full of "new and exciting things" instead of a glorified bugfix patch with some new stuff.
Each update to a game on console has to go through the approval for each console manufacturer. The update itself may have beef ready, but the approval can take time, so doing it for each little bit would be a constant loop of approvals and requests

Why no 85% chance of being injured + loud noise notification. The reason I'm making it such a high % or risk is....that a survivor does not NEED to break a wall, it's a choice. With that choice, you have a big risk
Because if you make the chance too high, the survivors will never use it.
-
I don't think it needs an aura reveal, maybe like a 10% chance of being exposed or injured to make it a bit of a gamble and also fit the realistic effects of hitting something you think will give way a lot easier than it does.

You do love to claim that.
I would say it's about evenly mixed, if anything the majority of posters play both sides.
-
I think that's a terrible idea for Survivors.
All the people who main licensed killers? Why would they play a different killer they don't like? Why not just take the weekend off? Then what happens to queue times when 1/3rd of the killer players aren't logging in? Ridiculous queue times for Survivors. Survivor queue times on the regular are bad enough already due to less and less people willing to play killer, what you are suggesting would just exacerbate an ongoing issue.
-
Why not both?
Kb and mouse support, imo should be standard for any console multiplayer game that has pc crossplay.
Also remapping buttons is definitely something that would help a ton on both sides.
-
I would like it you did, but depending on how much of the item charge is left. So if the item is fully used, add-ons are gone, since you used them. 1-50% you keep one add-on, 51-100% you keep both.

I'd be embarrassed for Sluzzy? Scratch that; I'm already embarrassed for Sluzzy. I cannot imagine moving through a day totally bereft of dignity and self-awareness. I mean there really are only two explanations, and neither of them shows Sluzzy in a good light:
- Sluzzy really thinks these things. A match is played and whatever thing stung Sluzzy on a given day suddenly becomes the worst thing ever! This would be hilarious if it wasn't also kind of pathetic and sad.
- Sluzzy is a Troll who just needs attention, i.e. good or bad doesn't matter. The posts are baits because Sluzzy can't get through a day without someone validating his/her existence. This is also pathetic and sad.
I honestly don't know which of these would be the worst way to think of Sluzzy. I suppose there could be a third option, which is too terrible to consider, that Sluzzy is BOTH of the above.
I think it's an alt of one of the devs, here to show how they see the feedback they get. That would explain how the account is never jailed or banned.

The amount of bloodpoints spent is negligible in a game like DbD. It is essentially a non-issue, since you could bring this in in most of your trials just by swapping out Dying Light for BBQ and running BP add-ons when you have no Mori.
I think it's a sign of how hard the player was sweating. Absent a video it's the best evidence we've got. Pretty clear from the loadout that this Freddy was going super sweat, that was more or less my point. To me, for him to be a "braindead killer with an op base kit" as I have heard him described we would be seeing a freddy with few to no perks cleaning up. However it seems like each of these always tells the same story, which is a freddy running the slowdown meta with the highest rarity add-ons and offering they can. On doc If I run both king and queen I'm almost certain to 4k, but that doesn't prove anything about doc's base kit, just how good his pink addons are, which I would argue they should be, due to their rarity.
-
I'm not much for funko pops myself, but I cannot argue against their popularity, so it would definitely be a good seller for them.

You cant compare those tho... Killer is forcing me out of the game at 5 gens. Why would I stay in a game where the person already tunnel me once? There is no reason for him to not tunnel me again.
Same if they tunnel someone else early. They did it once, chances for that happening again increased by him tunneling in the first place. I am not going to try hard for the rest of the game. Playing 1vs3 with 5 gens is almost impossible.
Since tunneling means to hook a single Survivor over and over until they are dead, I am really interested in hearing how you are able to be tunneled twice in the same match, as after the first tunneling, you would be dead.

But why was it changed from "The Contest is void where prohibited or restricted by law." in previous years to a list of specific countries that are allowed?
I don't think you can stop people from countries other than the ones that are listed from sending participating, and my guess is that there would only be a legal problem if you pick someone from a county that's not allowed to participate due to local laws as the winners. Which means in the end the countries of the winners need to be verified. But the problem of verification exists with both versions of the rules, the old and the new one, but this new version excludes a lot more countries.
They probably just felt the need to clarify after getting too many submissions they couldn't take in previous contests

You can call it a victory all you want, but if you want to know why the behavior stays the same, it's because those like you reward it so well. It would be even worse for new players if there's no functioning MMR. Think about it: The devs put up these neat graphics in the main menu, one saying chill casual af play enter here. The thorough and inclusive tutorial prolly resides there now. They learn squat from that and most likely pick survivor first. Thirteen minutes later they and other newbies get a rank 4 doc or legion or whatever and get plastered. Never mind even stronger killers with but-tons of hours.
Fun.
Why would there be no mmr? I never said anything about removing the mmr at all... Just because there is a casual mode doesn't mean that you throw out the whole mmr system, that's baby, bathwater and bathroom sink being thrown out.

While I agree that sometimes returning to the hook is the only option if you can't find anyone or don't have BBQ. Experienced kills mostly won't do that if there are other gens being working on as its throwing away gen pressure to chase 2 players who aren't on gens.
I hook people as close as possible to my patrol route. If I'm watching a particular group of 3-4 gens, I'm hooking right between them if possible. Returning to check the hook therefore doesn't really take much time, I can do it between checking gen a and gen b
