I don't think his grammar was as bad as OPs, but it wasn't great either.
Judging by this thread and the comments in some others, I think it's clear that OP could be in the process of joining the cult of Sluzzy.
If he isn't already the high priest, lol
I'll stop there before I get banned for the ol name and shame

Yo what if OP is an alt account of that Demo guy that got banned? They both complain about killers and have bad grammar.
I'm pretty sure OP has a couple of alts, just going by the consistent spelling and grammar issues. Already found one of them (which, once found out suddenly stopped posting). I imagine if we compared side to side we could find out, though I thought that guy had better sentence structure.

I have no idea. I tried to learn plague, but the Survivor groups I was facing were too quick for me to feel comfortable coming to grips with her kit. Going to try again when the mmr change goes Into effect.
-
I played about 10 matches as Survivor with a friend, then hopped on killer when he had to stop. First thing I did was walk up to a gen and try to fix it... Think I ended up losing that match because I was too busy laughing at my own stupidity to focus.
-
#cultofsluzzy
At least the bait is getting a little better.
-
I dislike facing stealth killers, but to be honest that's just because I'm not good at spotting them before they get me. I don't want them to be changed in any way, as the solution is just to face more and get better.

Occam's razor. Either one person has two accounts or two separate people consistently make the exact same spelling and grammar mistakes while making the exact same claims.
As far as the rest? You really need to believe everyone who disagrees with you is a killer main, don't you? I'm not, but I don't care if you think I am.

So do all totems myself get no gens done waste a perk spot for small game no and for your info last night I did I want from rank 6 to3 because killers are straight garbage there is nothing they can do o had a challenge escape three trails got it done n three matches cause my teammates will die if they have to to help each other and we do so tunnel and I will bully you camp and I'm poppin gens it doesn't matter since killers don't want to play fair why should I sorry ghost face that you didn't have fun but don't try to expose people next to the hook like kinda pointless thanks team I appreciate you you guys are amazing see you tonight
If getting 5 totems cleansed means you can't get a gen done, that's on your lack of time management skills.
Sooner or later you're going to have to decide what rank you want people to believe you are. In 2 back to back posts you claimed to be 3 (red) and purple ranked. Nobody cares what rank you are, but it is confusing how much your obvious bs just scatter shots all over.

When I play solo how am I supposed to know how many totems were cleansed or if any how is that fair to us the few the proud the solo and the reason I play solo survivor is cause killer is to easy and swf is easier than killer so I stand alone for the challenge but tunneling camping and nerfs makes we want to get the gang together they constantly invite me I just say nah but if they nerf one more survivor thing and I promise I will punish killers for enjoying are misery
By counting to 5.
And no, nobody is impressed that you're apparently now threatening to join a swf, go join them.

How about this.
If X is the number of survivors
And g is gens done.
Then when X+1 is done a part spawns.
Or when last Survivor alive.
This part can instantly open a door.
However- it takes up an item slot (you can't escape with item) and if you get downed it gets dropped and revealed to the killer until picked up.
This would make it more interactive, give a second chance and still Be fun to play. This means one survivor can escape, but they still have to get to an exit gate.
Also maybe EGC occurs when it's spawned/picked up. Timer slows down if dropped.
That could be fun.
-
2 dead, 1 DC
That's a win, if the last Survivor gets the hatch or not, I won't be bothered by it for longer than it takes for me to find the next match. So I say, let it spawn.
-
I bring franklin's and i try to hit the person with the key first, so they don't know I have it until it's too late, then I hook them and go back to where the key was dropped and watch the entity eat it.

Not much different than a bubba facecamping, or a 99'd t2 myers face camping, or a basement huntress. When you do so as those killers against good survivors you will:
- Get 1 kill
- Depip
- Lose the game
Now, personally i think tunneling and camping are bad, but they shouldn't be fixed on an individual killer level, they need to be fixed in a game mechanics sort of way. I personally think that:
- Hook state should not decrease if you are camping (use the same rules as the emblem)
- Hook states should be shared across all survivors (no tunneling someone out of the game immediately)
- Gen repair times should be doubled to 160 seconds or even increased to 200 seconds (just wait)
- Survivors get a stacking buff increasing repair speeds based on how long they have not been in a chase with the killer, this debuff loses stacks while being chased by the killer.
- Probably now need to buff killers in some way more to compensate, but this would require more numbers tweaking.
This would encourage killers to not tunnel the same survivor, and would discourage camping.
A lot of those are fun ideas except for
Hook states should be shared across all survivors (no tunneling someone out of the game immediately)
I can tell you right now, the minute that happened tunneling would become 100x more frequent. Basically if everyone shares a hook state, why would I bother hooking anyone aside from the worst looper on your team? I'm not going to go after those I can't catch when you have one I can. What happens next? Everyone dies, and 3 of them feel cheated because they never lost a single chase, much less spent any time on the hook.

You know, you are exactly right. There should be 5 randomly hidden survivor hexes that the Killer can work on and if he destroys all 5, DS is no longer available. I am more than happy for that change and I think every survivor would be happy with that change.
You may be kidding, but I do think it could add to the gameplay if Survivors had some perks dependant on map items like that. Maybe not ds, but something to change up the tactics and keep matches fresh.

How realistic is it that all 5 totems go down? I only play solo (cause i have no friends lol) and i never see it happen. Is that a big SWF higher rank thing?
Happens a lot in purple and red ranks, maybe that's the difference.
-
@nomie_norris said:
Question as a survivor only. Is DS just as unfair as when i successfully ran the killer a couple times, did a couple gens, unhooked and healed some teammates without getting hit the whole time. Just to be killed by NOED at the end. Not trying to start an argument, just asking.
I can't break 5 items around the map to take DS away before you can use it, so no. It isn't the same.

Are you serious?
How tf is it the survivors' fault if the killer ignores the 3 others and focuses on just one for the whole game? How are survivors supposed to change the killer player's free will?
By making it a losing strategy for the killer. Same as literally every other multiplayer game out there, from overwatch, to team fortress to rocket league. Or I suppose you can just whine about how unfair it is that the killer decides who they want to chase.
If tunneling always worked, every killer would do it and have a 100% killrate. It doesn't because smart Survivors can counter it. I gave you a few ideas how already, you can either take that under advisement or not, doesn't matter to me either way, unless of course we meet in game and I get to see whether you learned or not for myself.

Ah yes. Because it's my team of randoms' fault if the killer ignores them and tunnels me. Of course.
Yes, because they made it easy to ignore them. It's a 4v1 game, why shouldn't your teammates play for the team? When I'm playing Survivor I'll run right up on a tunneling killer and force them to acknowledge me. I'll pop gens, drop pallets and do my best to blind them if I have a flashlight. I do that so my teammates live and we win. If that means getting hooked by a pissed off killer who camps me the rest of the game, so be it. If the team wins, we all win.
I'm sorry if the people you got stuck with aren't team players, that's as frustrating here as it is when on OW and nobody wants to stay with the payload, but it's not the other team's duty to cover for your team refusing to play as a team, in any game.

If four chases were happening then it's likely the killer was doing more than camping / tunneling.. so....
It takes 4 chases to tunnel someone
First 2 to get them to the dying state. Then they get unhooked so that's one more to get them back to dying to rehook, rinse and repeat for the last hook state.
You could see it as 3 as well, if you count the initial as 1 chase through both health States, I don't because of the injury speed boost and weapon swing cool down, so to me it feels like 2, but that's just how I see it.
Camping isn't tunneling. Tunneling isn't camping, they have different names because they refer to different actions.

As a Steam player I find going off of people's playtime much more reliable. I have around 1,200 hours and if I get teammates who only have like 100 - 300 hours I will dodge. No other game will match a player that has 1,200 hours with other players who have ~100.
I can see where you are coming from, but I disagree with the method.
You can play 2k hours in this game and be trash, you can play 100 hours and be great at the mechanics. If it works for you, more power to you. I'm a console scrub, so the closest I could get would be comparing achievements, but honestly I just don't bother. Even if I get crap teammates it just means a quick match.
-
Because they are given nothing else to go off of.
At this point rank is more a sign of how much time you play each week, but people need a reason to feel above others or something to blame for their defeat, hence ranks.

So you don't chase anyone, then?
There's no adapting to a team that's not looping. You aren't even playing DbD. If you want to not chase someone holding W... You've got another three that are doing the exact same thing. Then what's your plan? 3-gen them? They're just going to do the exact same thing. No skill, no opportunity to adapt, it's just artificially inflating the chase time whilst slamming gens.
Exactly.
I actually try for a 4 gen in those circumstances when I can, depending on map layout. I won't commit to a single chase until they get sick of it and change up. Does it work every time? Nope. But then, no strategy works 100% of the time, which is what keeps the game interesting. Boot them off the gen, get a slap in if I can, move to the next gen. If I keep my own movement economical, they won't have the ability to slam gens, at least not for long before they try to roadrunner off again.
Why would you chase someone who is very clearly just trying to get you out of position for their team? If I'm running my super TR doc build, I'll spam static blasts as much as I can and try to build up madness stacks to waste their time more. On the right map I've been able to hit people on 3 different gens with one well positioned shock.
-

So you have fun... Not being able to play DbD? You find it fun to mindlessly hold W after people who have zero plan beyond doing the same to waste your time? You have fun when people don't interact with you in any way?
I find it fun having to adapt to new strategies. You can of course try and frame it as "not being allowed to play" but as the game is functioning, and I am in it making decisions and shocking people and kicking gens, obviously I'm still playing the game. I typically don't find myself mindlessly doing anything, if I get a survivor who loves w that much, I don't just chase them like a lost puppy, that's a waste of time. Sooner or later if they want out, they've gotta come to a gen. If I get a lot of w players, I change to a more defensive style and stall them out.
-
@MadLordJack said:
Once again, someone misses the point of why these are so hated.
You know what? How much fun do you have when you're playing against teams that just predrop pallets and hold W? How much fun do you have watching gens pop left and right because you literally cannot end chases quick enough tha KS to the cheesiest of stratagies? Because that's pretty much the survivor version.
A lot. I want Survivors to challenge me, make me second guess my strategy and change my tactics mid match to meet them. If I didn't I would play a single player game where the npcs always react the same. Rush gens, split off, kill my hex perks, make me abandon chases to protect gens, much more fun than knocking 4 noobs down who don't come in with a plan.

How is crouching repeatedly on the same level as forcing someone out of the game early?
How is clicking a flashlight a few times the same as intentionally making it so someone can't play the game?
Sure they're all allowed, but they're not close to being the same.
You're right. Crouching and clicking does nothing to progress the game whatsoever, they are just used by Survivors who need more attention.
"Forcing someone out if the game early" is absolutely hilarious. There is no set minimum time you are supposed to be alive, you aren't being forced out of anything unless you're being hacked. You got killed by the killer, plain and simple. The killer won at least 4 chases against you, meaning you had 4 opportunities to escape, find a teammate and adapt, but couldn't do so. During that time you are unequivocally playing the game.
-
You can always crawl through the exit.
You can never kidnap victor and take him through.
That's pretty much it.

@gendoss said:
I think you solved your own problem by saying "Try to practice Nuse".
Nurse is the best killer in the game and she can destroy basically any survivor if you are good enough. When you practicing you are not going to be at that level and it's going to be a rough time for a while, just like practicing at any fighting game.
However the reward is being good at Nurse.
I'm not sure how practicing nurse makes it ok for people to tell you to ######### irl.
The upsetting thing isn't the loss, it's the toxic slurry of ######### you catch in chat win or lose.
-
Here's the thing.
Depending on role, you are screwing over 3-4 other people. Best case, you played Survivor and got booted, leaving your team a member short to take on the killer.
Worst case? You played as killer and got booted, screwing 4 people out of their offerings and add-ons because you couldn't wait until the maintenance was finished to play.
Why should that happen without consequences for the person who was disconnected? Steam has done server maintenance on the same day every week since long before this game was even conceived. You knowingly took the risk of being disconnected, those other players didn't sign up for that, but you went ahead and put them in a bad spot anyway, and you think the issue is that you got a temporary ban, at a time when you can't play anyway due to server maintenance.
The entitlement is insane.
-
That is a change that could actually make immersive players into something approaching team players. I like it.

Tutorial to @Kyledbd
Study Gates' position
Wait for Killer to close hatch to trigger EGC. Note where 2 Gates spawn. Depend on its' position, one gate is a better option than the other. Learn to read their position.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/5BCUOG0GKWJ3/image.png
^ Both these gates have equal chance. You can pick whichever.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/NT9RT9B8B66U/image.png
^ The right gate is a better option. Because when you hear TR coming, you need to hide, and at the right gate, you can hide just by walk into the corner next to the switch.
- Sometimes Gates spawn are too close, just stand at a hook and ask them to kill you.
OPEN THE GATE
The Light works like this:
Below 25%: No light
25%: 1 light
50%: 2 lights
75%: 3 light
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/6B59C300RGVH/image.png
The open Gate bar has text "OPEN-ESCAPE" above it, note when the first Light popup (25%)
Depends on UI scale, mine is at the letter A. When the bar reach to OPEN-ESC (24%), I will stop, hide at the corner and wait for TR come and go again, then I continue to open the Gates. This trick gives you 4sec less being in danger (18m distance).
BOLD SURVIVOR
You can open a Gate until it pop up 1 Light, then go to another Gate and do the same trick as OPEN THE GATE. Killer is likely to search the Light up Gate much longer
But make sure Light up Gate has worst position than the other, or you doomed yourself.
EASY WAY
Bring a Key.
This is good. My tactic brain is pleased
-
Survivor: Red Herring. Am I at the gen? Am I halfway across the map? I'll never tell.
Killer: Distressing, it's absurd how well that works with Doctor

I'm going to offer up my (edited) take on a redesigned "hatch":
The Hatch is now a Rift that can be escaped through.
Now is not visible to Killers/Survivors at all.
Breaking totems drops a skull which can be picked up by Survivors.
While holding the Skull, the Rift is shown to you under the same spawning conditions as Hatch.
The skull can be used to tear open the rift to escape.
The time it takes to rip open the Rift is dependent on if the skull is imbued.
Imbue the skull with the Memories of Sacrificed Survivors.
The skull can be Imbued multiple times.
Attempting to open the rift marks it as visible to the Killers, who, if they prevent it from tearing open, can absorb it. Allowing them to kill any remaining Survivors by their own hands.
That just sounds like a fun mechanic. Nice!
-
GF reveal mechanic has always felt really sloppy to me. Sometimes you can reveal him through a wall looking the other way, sometimes you stare right at his face and nothing happens. It's what has kept me from playing him.

My friend and I, who usually play survivor as a 2-person SWF, recently added two new friends on some of our playing nights to play as a full 4-person SWF group. I won't even begin to talk about how much of an advantage that's been -- that's a whole other discussion -- but we have, in a number of matches, had one of us bring a key (or run Plunderer's, with someone using an offering to spawn extra chests) and someone else use a hatch offering for the killer shack (and often a map offering by one of us as well, to make sure we're not indoors or on Haddonfield).
The number of key escapes over this short period of time without all of the gens being done has been, frankly, beyond what I would have ever imagined (and as someone who plays a fair bit of killer, it would be infuriating if I were on the other end of things). We've gotten multiple 4-person escapes, but the 3-person escape has been the most common. In those matches, someone died, most if not all of the rest of us were on death hook, and finishing that last generator MIGHT have been possible in some of those games, but very unlikely in others -- but rather than even attempting the last gen, it's always been "Head to the hatch at the shack and we'll meet up there" for a pretty easy escape.
There have also been a couple of 2-person escapes with 3 gens done, and even one where one remaining person in our group re-opened the hatch in the EGC after it had been closed. In the few games we've run against Frankilin's, the keyholder has simply run to the killer shack and dropped the key outside the window to eliminate the killer's counterplay.
As fun as it's been for us as a group, I can imagine how frustrating it's been for the killers we've played against, and again, as someone who plays a lot of killer myself, I know how I'd feel going against that. The hatch, as a mechanism to force the game to a conclusion at its natural end, is fine -- I love the race to find it, from both sides, at the end of a game. But the hatch CAN be abused with the use of keys -- I never realized how much until the opportunity was presented to do so. As long as it's part of the gameplay, we'll continue to use it (we don't do so in every match, but I've either brought in a key or had someone in my direct party use one more in the past few weeks than I did in almost a year of play beforehand -- the threat of a Mori usually dissuaded that idea, but the nerf of that eliminated that one potential threat), but the change to its use, frankly, should be sooner rather than later.
What if the ability to drop the key was removed? Or just make it so that if you drop an item, the entity eats it after a certain amount of time? Just throwing out ideas.

One of the things that drives me crazy is that. How on earth BHVR can’t fix what they broke. We are doing everything via Steam and after linking, behaviour account also has access to everything. So how they can’t see or fix something caused by them. Don’t they have records of purchase history for every account? How’s so they can’t do anything. Who else could do something?
I agree completely. They should be able to do it, I don't know why they refuse to help you. I have personally noted Steam support to be very helpful in the past, so I am hoping they will help you.

So a game that is 5 years old shouldn't have to fix an issue with connectivity?
Okay the issue is with steam? Find a way around it. Perhaps give a grace period for during steams maintenance.
Or possibly, hear me out. Crazy idea, ALLOW PLAYERS TO RECONNECT.
Yes. The issue is with steam.
If you disconnect on Tuesday, does it make it so you aren't leaving your crossplay teammates abandoned?
It's a 5 minute penalty, during a time you can't play anyway because the steam servers are under maintenance. Why should you be allowed to immediately reconnect when you are likely to be booted again by steam right after? So you can abandon 2 matches full of other people? What would that solve?

If you can prove it, go through Steam, show evidence that you have tried to contact BHVR support, and initiate a refund/chargeback. I'm afraid it's the only way BHVR will show any urgency.
This is pretty much all you can do, unfortunately. It's a ######### situation and BHVR should be able and willing to correct it, but if they aren't get your money back via steam.

Also, please refrain from personal attacks or insults, I won't do anything of the sort to you so please show the same respect.

As long as Franklin's Demise lets me slap keys out of hands, I'm ok with them.
I know, I'll have to turn in my "Killer main" card that I earned defending NOED and tunneling, but I just don't see an issue. I've had a couple of games where 4e through the hatch, but that's because I failed to protect the gens so they got 5. I've had even more where 1 or 2 get out via hatch, but I'm not so precious over the 4k that I'm going to let that upset me. Now if I see a key I run good old Frankie Ds, and go for the key holder first so they don't get any warning it's coming. Does it work all the time? Of course not, nothing does, but it works enough of the time.
Too many people on both sides act like they're having something taken from them because of a perk or item the other side brought to the match. Personally I think it's a waste of time to think that way.

"Yeah, that's not how keys work. Sorry."
That's how keys work, the formula for spawning in the hatch is: complete the generators equal to the number of survivors alive plus one more.
Spawning the Hatch
Just to break it down
- 4 Survivors: 5 Generators Done — All survivors escape
- 3 Survivors: 4 Generators Done — 3 survivors escape
- 2 Survivors: 3 Generators Done — 2 survivors escape
Don't see the problem? Okay, easy, let's try this. The game is balanced around survivors completing their objective, not half of it, not some of it. Nothing against you, but if you believe killers should stop survivors from completing 3 or more generators, you're being very unrealistic. Killers aren't supposed to destroy all survivors with 3 or more generators remaining, that's literally insane. If the killers were able to stop survivors with 3 or more generators, holy moly, killers would be OP and the game would be unplayable for the survivors.
Heck, even a Fog Whisper believe keys are ridiculous and look at how hard he was trying. Do you still think he didn't counterplay hard enough or are your eyes opened?
Anyways, you don't have to listen to me, I can just tell you why I believe you're wrong. What you do with it is up to you, but if this doesn't convince you, I don't know what will. 🤷♂️
Appeal to (false) authority isn't something that will convince me.
Let me go ahead and copy/paste the part from my last post you clearly didn't read.
If you are talking about after Survivors have started dying, perhaps you should have started by tunneling the person with the key, or hell, just bring Franklin's Demise, which solves the problem fairly neatly.

no worries at all man, I hope the rest of your interactions on this forum just continue to get better and better as you stay here.

Ahh, remember when this chapter was released with no PTB and out of nowhere, good times. Anyways after the MOM nerf this paragraph has nothing else to offer, all 3 perks are outclassed and current MOM takes way too much work to trigger (which is understandable) not sure why it still has the downside, no point really.
I don’t see a point for new players to even purchase this chapter, unless you like Ash as a character but other than that, it has nothing to offer.
I hope the Devs will revisit Ash and Quentin’s Perks. I think they are by far the least used characters (From what I have seen) at least give them 1 useful perk.
Nothing to change. Either it's worth it to you or it isn't. I bought ash without even looking at the perks, just because he's actually voiced by Bruce. That's what made the purchase Worth it to me, and I don't regret it a bit. Obviously not everyone will feel the same.

You can't use DS if you are hooked. This is about tactics that ensure the death or survival of survivors with no skill involved.
It's weird man, half of the people responding make up a little strawman about who I am, so they can dismiss what I say. I have no clue who you are even talking about tbh.
You're new, and at this point I am convinced you are posting in earnest.
There exists on this forum a few people who basically ######### post bad takes on things to rile people up. Those are referred to as "bait posts" and usually can be spotted because they make what are considered by most to be woefully bad comparisons between perks and playstyles, as well as a lot of dramatic language about how the game is "killer sided" or "survivor sided" or "unfair".
Unfortunately your initial post, while again I believe was made honestly, has a lot of those red flags that more experienced forum members have learned to identify. Not your fault, you didn't know.

Right, I want to clarify I am just drawing similarities between the two. Infinites are not skill based, and I feel facecamping isn't either. Neither feel healthy for the game, and infinites ruined a lot of players interactions with the game.
In the scheme of surviving or dying, as a solo survivor. It seems to me they are sort of the same strategy for each side is all.
They aren't. And the reason they aren't is because this isn't a 1v1 game. If all you care about is your own survival, and not your team winning, then sure, it sucks always. If you are an actual team player, then you recognize the only one the killer is really screwing over is themselves, your team wins, they depip and stay a potato.
