  • No thanks. I do not want to die on my first or second hook because I got potatoes as teammates. Getting punished for the mistakes of others would be extremely frustrating and make perks like deliverance, Second Wind or DS entirely useless. It is an interesting idea, but I don't like it at all tbh.

All i'm asking for is a little info ie: those who swf and join a lobby together gets a mark(preferably same color marks) to distinguish if a player joins a lobby with someone else or is a solo or if it's a 2v2 swf etc. What? Survivors allowed to gain info and killer does not have an inkling of info to gain? Atleast that helps the killer adjust his gameplay instead of trying to waste time and discern themselves if these players are on comms etc

Thats also what I'd like to see. Not necessarily who plays together, but an indicator for the killer above the lobby, something like 2-2, 2-1-1, 3-1, 1-1-1-1, 4

So the killer knows if there are swf and how many and can prepare. It would also help solo survivor to see this.

  • If you think it is too easy to win in a swf group then don't play that way. I usually play with one friend, rarely in a group of 3 or 4 and for us it's more like

"Hi, how's ur day?" "Boring, oh no, I hate this map" "Have you watched latest episode of show by?" "Yeah AAAA@#$% it's ghostface!!!" "run for ur life dude!"

Theres always a little information more than you'd get as solo, but also a lot of distraction by talking about stuff and fooling around, wasting time by having fun.

I am aware that there are also well organized groups who play serious and it is difficult against them as killer. But if you'd nerf swf in general, I'd probably would stop playing along with a lot of other people (basically e everyone I know who plays this game). We play for fun, not to bully the killer and not to sweat and tryhard to escape. Idc if I get sacrificed or not as long as I'm longer than 2 minutes in the match and not get tunneled to death instantly I most likely have a good time and would be ok with getting sacrificed. If I go against a killer who had a bad round I sometimes even give him the kill for free if he played fair.

As you already said, not all swf groups are toxic. But if swf get nerfed in general, the people who play relaxed and for fun are the ones who get punished the most.

  • @ZoneDymo said:

ermm no? they expect you to do 6... you are not meant to 4k

    Exactly.

A perfect game is a 2k and 2 escape, which means you have to win 6 chases at least. Or by building up pressure and chase them away from the gens and have them injured you can buy some extra time to win even more chases.

  • I hope not.

Imo too many people already take this game way too serious and don't allow any fun in their games, which is really sad.

I play for fun and sometimes stupid things happens in game, which can be super funny if people just let them happen (killer and survivor). Those matches are the best and they are already rare.

  • I think both perks are fine. You just get affected by BT if you hit the unhooked. Easy counter: don't hit the unhooked, or wait for 15 seconds. Also DS has counterplay. I rarely have problems with both perks as killer and as survivor I ven stopped using DS because 90% of all games it is a wasted perk slot. I get to use it in maybe 1 out of 10 matches, which means in 90% of my matches I basically played with 3 perks. I don't think a perk which gets activated in 10% of all matches needs a nerf.

I think we should let the perks be how they are now and instead buff the weaker killers and useless killer perks. That would help a lit more imo.

  • Everytime I tried to boop da snoot (even when getting body blocked somewhere) I got killed instantly :( sometimes even before I got the chance to boop it...just want to boop da snoot one time properly in my life :'(

  • I experienced the same. I hit the skillcheck perfectly in the middle against Doc and nothing happened.

  • I think both should be reworked.

Example for moris: you can start to mori after every survivor has been hooked at least once. This would prevent one survivor getting tunneled and mori'd in the first 2 minutes of the game.

Example for keys: can only be used when egc started. This way all gens have to be done first (the exit gates had been opened or the killer closed the hatch) and there's no more 3 man escape with 1 gen left.

  • Claudette because there are two types that give me a hard time: type one is super immersed and doesn't do any productive, so you can't find them the whole match. Or type two, who is tbagging and flashlight klicking and does everything to annoy the killer as much as possible and just be super toxic.

I run in a lot more toxic Claudettes than Neas actually.

  • I think not to care is the only way to play this game healthy, for both roles.

As a survivor I don't care if I get sacrificed, tunneled or mori'd and as killer I don't care if I get tbagged or no sacrifice at all. And I feel a lot better than in the past, where I tried too hard for a 4k or to survive and got really mad about everything. I'm glad that I learned not to care.

I try my best for everyone to have fun ingame. And I don't see it like that. There are sweaty tryhard survivors and there are sweaty tryhard killers, it is how it is.

  • Dean and Sam as survivor would be totally awesome

  • Yes, a Supernatural DLC would be amazing!

  • I dont think this is a good idea tbh.

A lot if people play this game without beeing active in the forums or community in general. Most people that are active in the forums are, in my experience, killer mains.

So what would probably happen is that only a few number of the whole player base will even complete this survey. From these people there are probably 70% killer mains (or maybe the other way around and 70% survivor mains? Doesn't matter which side has these 70%). So a survey like this could lead to a total imbalance of the whole game and mess everything up even more. I also think that a lot of people on this forum don't seem to know what "balace" even means...

Also with the example you gave you would completely kill DS. This is no good idea at all. DS is in a good spot as it is now. 30 seconds is way too short and shorten the stun time would also make it useless. What really should be changed instead is Legions stun time, he's basically giving himself a DS everytime he ends his power...

The devs alone, as a central point, should decide how to balance their game. I also do not agree with every single decision they make but we should take it as it is and adapt to the changes they make.

  • Yeah that's also something I wish for. It would be great for exploring maps or trying out new killers or perks. I don't want to bother my friends everytime I wanna test something.

  • In real life for me it would be Ghostface and Trapper.

Ghostface because the thought of getting stalked without knowing is creeping me out. And even if you notice that you have been watched ('exposed') you sometimes don't even know from where he's coming for you.

Trapper because his whole presence is scary and you could walk into his traps anytime.

  • Nea, because I like her general apperience and her lobby animation the most. I think the individual animations in the lobby tell a lot about the characters themself and I can sympathize with Nea the most. And I love her cosmetics.

For killer, I like Ghostface and Frank the most.

Ghostface because I think getting stalked without even noticing it is one of the scariest things. And he looks cute when he's running and chasing someone.

Frank....I don't even know why. I just love him and he deserves better.

Well, I do care about the killer's experience and try to do everything I can to make sure they have a fun game, while also ultimately winning, when I play survivor. I do the same as killer. But that's just me, I'm not responsible for the actions of other survivors.

Also, lumping all survivors into one category like that and using it to justify discourteous behaviour is wrong on several levels. Firstly, it's totally unjust. The survivors in this match are not responsible for the bad behaviour of those you faced in the last match, and don't deserve for you to take out your frustration on them. Secondly, "they did the wrong thing so that justifies me doing the wrong thing" is not and never has been an acceptable argument from a moral standpoint.

You can camp and tunnel and slug and whatever else if you want to - as long as you're not breaking any rules, it's perfectly fine from a gameplay perspective, especially since many of those tactics do serve a strategic purpose. You are strategically justified in doing all of those things. But don't act like you're morally justified in intentionally disregarding another player's experience, just because "some survivors are mean".

Very well written, I entirely agree to this.

  • That last message....sounds like a 13 years old baby boy to me.

Don't give this any value. People will always cry.

  • Didn't know you have to be red rank to hit skillchecks....

It's just a matter of practice. That's why I don't get this Ruin change at all. I learned to work through Ruin way before I got to red ranks. It is just something you'll learn over time if you play regulary, there's no actuall skill required. The word "Skillcheck" is just dumb imo.

As killer I play a lot in green or yellow ranks and even in these ranks people work through ruin, because they play the game regulary but maybe not regulary enough to rank up.

But even when playing in red ranks as Survivor you'll get teammates who still gen tab or just run around the map to search the totem. They ranked up faster than they learned to hit skillchecks, or maybe never even tried to learn them.

Hex: Ruin is only 'overpowered' against people who don't play the game regulary and don't have practice in hitting great skillchecks. This perk basically thought me to hit greats.

For me it feels like they are balancing the game for players, who don't play regulary and personally I dont see any sense in that. If I'd run a company, I'd care about my base customers the most (= people who play on a regular basis). That's the main reason why I don't see the sense in the change of Ruin. Everyone, who can hit greats, learned it over time. It is nothing too difficult and nothing impossible imo.

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

The only thing that is proven once again:

The DBD Community is the best in crying without testing. Neither of the persons who complain tested the new Ruin and neither of them tested to play with other Perks instead of Ruin.

Quite a shame that the DBD Community is such a whiny mess.

    Exactly.

I think the Ruin change is not needed at all, but what happens here at the forums right now is a little too much crying imo. Especially when I read that players want to punish other players with most toxic playstyles for the decision the Devs made. What the hell...?

I'm gonna stop playing for a week or so until they all calmed down a bit or used up their ebony moris. Don't want to deal with these outraged people atm.

And the same the other way around.

Still I'd not tbag killers for the nerfs the survivor side received, it just don't make sense. They didn't sign these decisions, so why should I show them disrespect?

I'm a rank 6 killer, but I might as well be a rank 2, because that's all I get for survivors and ruin is necessary. The survivors are too good at looping to get kills in under 5 minutes, at this rank, seconds count.

I was doing my best to make it an enjoyable experience for both sides. Actively not tunneling, never camping, complimenting both survivor and killers, giving hatch or the exit door to the last survivor. After this slap in the face, no more. I'm quitting the game two weeks after this goes live, and it's my goal to leave a smoking crater of salt and survivor tears on my way out. My only hope is that EVERY killer does the same and BHVR gets the Raven Software treatment. Dishonored and forgotten.

Everyone said "Give them a chance to get it right, wait until after the holidays and they will get this fixed", I said that I would, but I had no faith in them, looks like I was right.

I do get why you think like that, what they do is just frustrating and discouraging. Especially reading things like that, that they turned a fair and good player into someone who is willing to play toxic, just makes the whole situation even more sad than it already is.

I felt like that with all the Legion nerfs that happened. They actually depressed me. However, I'd suggest to sleep over it a few times, take a break from the game, maybe things will start to look different then. At least that's what helps me. I just stopped caring at all what happens ingame, and tbh this is the only way to play this game healthy, considering the own health and own experience. Playing toxic, especially if you haven't done that usually, would probably harm yourself more than others. I'm pretty sure it won't give you any satisfaction but rather bad feelings in general. It's your decision what you're gonna do, but I just want to give you that advice.

Devs won't hear us on here, maybe they will listen if we make it an absolutely miserable experience for their precious little survivors. It's the Lucifer strategy, I'll admit, but screw it, the traditional ways aren't working.

If they would care about the real issue that makes a game frustrating as survivor, they would have done something about tunneling or getting mori'd in the first two minutes of the game, because these are the only really frustrating things as survivor imo. But they didn't and instead decided to nerf a perk which already is completely luck based (totem spawn) and not that much of a use against survivors who can hit skillchecks.

I play killer in low rank ( yellow mostly) and even in these ranks ruin is not that strong because people can hit skillchecks. I really don't understand their motivation for this change. But I also don't understand if the answer of Killer-mains is this.

For me the BL nerf was a hit in the face because it is a very situational perk anyway, but I don't tbag killers because of that or play toxic, because it was not them who finally decided that.

All you do with punishing survivors is to punish innocent people who probably even are on the same side as you are.

I just wish this stupid war between "Killer mains" and "survivor mains" would stop and we would try to make this game a better experience for everyone as a community. But this seems as unlikely as world peace.

  • Good idea, tunnel the survivors that can't do anything about the Ruin change and get off your frustration on innocent people.

Yes, I do mainly play survivor. And I still think the Ruin change is unnecessary and I would fight along to prevent this from going live, but everytime I read a thread like this my motivation for that is gone entirely. Survivors are not Devs. Just for information.

  • Or you can just continiue to play without any stress and without caring.

This game used to stress me out a lot until I just stopped caring. I get hooked? Fine. Survivors escaping? Fine. Key? Mori? Ok then.

I don't give a damn anymore, it's not like any of the ingame things going on affect real life. And if they do for someone, there's something terribly wrong imo. Just chill and consider closing the end chat, or just write gg and leave immediately. No "KABOOM" at all.

  • @Kbot22 said:

I already said this on another discussion but swf is not necessarily toxic and if they are it is because of prior experience with tunneling, camping, sweaty killers. I was with a swf today and we all brought a bps. The killer decided to play the most dirty way possible and none of us had over 15k points. The killer however used us for points and had 32k points. We had 4 bps

Had the same experience. 4 bps and killer brought a pudding -> 600% bloodpoints for killer and 500% for survivor. Killer found me first, right at the start, downed and facecamped until second state. After I got unhooked, he tunneled me immediately and killed me. No gens were done at that point. I got 2400 points on the scoreboard. At this time I decided to never bring bps again if someone else already brings some. We weren't even a full swf team, I just played with one friend. Matches like this are just frustrating and a complete waste of offerings.

  • I just dont like her because i dont like her facial expession and animation in the Lobby. She looks like she has no clue what's going on, and in my experience there are, no offense, a lot of Meg-players that represent that.

There's also a second type of Meg-players, that are the complete opposite and know the maps by heart and how to loop, but they seem to be a rare species.

It's just a stereotype thing. Usually Megs do brainless plays, Claudettes hide in bushes doing nothing or beeing toxic, Baby Dweets hide in lockers, Jake just saboing hooks, Janes are killers best friend and help them, Neas are most of the time actual noobs, or gods of looping, there is no in between.

Of course these things aren't always the case, but this is just a mix from my own experience and general stereotyping.

For me the main thing if I like a character or not is their personal animation and charisma in the lobby. And sadly I don't really like Megs animation or her facial expression.

Sounds like you don't play Legion very well

It you know you won't reach survivors with your power you need to cancel it and it will be back when you reach them normally

And while Plague does injure people passivly Legion tends to do it much faster and in a game where gens can be done in 5 minutes or less speed is more important than passivly doing things

I'm not really saying that Legion is beter then Plague or vica versa, i'm just wondering why the difference in tierlist is so huge

Legion is often all the way at the bottom while Plague is like 6 or 7 killers higher and i'm sorry but the things you said really don't sound so powerfull to explain that difference

Well, it is just my opinion.

And this is also rather my point of view from survivor side. I play both sides, but way more survivor ( red rank survivor, green rank killer). Everytime I face a Legion it is much easier to play against him than against Plague. I mean, in some situations you even want to run into the killers knife because it won't do much anyway if he's in ff and you are already injured, you just get a free sprint burst and time to get to a safe loop. Also if he cancels his power, you still get 4 seconds to run away. This is also what I meant in my previous post. Even if Legion cancels his power before reaching another survivor, the survivor has 4 seconds to run away and the chain hit from Legion is gone until his power is recharged.

As Legion you can't always use your power to travel fast. As example: you close the hatch and the exit doors are far from each other. If you use ff to run from exit gate to exit gate, finding the survivor almost opened it, cancel your power - by that 4 seconds they have time to open the exit, take one hit and escape. Same with finishing gens. It's not always an issue but against experienced survivors things like that feel like the situations with old Freddy. 4 seconds is a loooong time.

I'm not saying Legion is bad in general, but I my experience, especially as survivor, it is easier to play against him.

You can dodge the axeheads cant you ds you either wait for a minute or hope they miss (which almost never happens) and like i said your allowed to use what you want moris/keys/addons they are in the game they exist as a option. Dcing is a exploit and unfair and the devs know it thats why were getting penalties.

You can dodge ds by not tunneling. As killer I almost never have a problem with ds tbh. And yes, it is possible to run around a huntress for a while, one time I ran one around for 4 gens and didnt even know she had iri heads, but sooner or later you will get hit. And it is not fun at all if you see your team going down like flies, or to get camped with a iri head up in your direction ( which sadly happens a lot of times I face a huntress with iri head).

From my point of view I'd only use iri heads if I'd want to actively ruin any fun for the survivors, because logically no one really likes to go against it.

DCing is never an option for me tho, but in a situation like that as survivor I'd might just let go on the hook to get into another game asap. So there would not be much difference.

  • Plague has way more than Legion. The only thing both have in common is, that most likely everybody will be injured.

Plague has more advantages, like entirely counter to iron will, infect survivors passively ( through infected gens, pallets, windows,...), survivors can infect each other ( when unhooking and also kind of prevents survivors to sit on a gen together if only one is infected), can't hide from her in a locker since it will get visible infected and one teammate cleansing in early game can screw the whole team over and she even has an add on to see auras of puking survivors. If you have a medkit as survivor, it is entirely useless, since it is not even possible to heal 95% of the game.

All Legion has is an useless mending timer, that can be ignored as long as you're running and is gone in 8-12 seconds and killer instinct, which often leads you to a survivor you can't even reach in your ability and get a 4 second stun when it runs out, which gives the survivor enough time to go to Narnia or even finish a gen right in your face.

It's all about the passive things that make Plague much stronger than Legion imo.

  • Even if they didn't DC, it is hard to get any points with this add on. It's like with every instant downing killer.

If you play for points or to rank up, don't use this add on. (Tbh I don't see the point why you would use it during blood hunt anyway, it's just a waste of the blood hunt event and your own potential bloodpoints imo).

  • I think Ghostface is fine. He has enough counterplay, it is possible to break his power and you can hear him, even when in stealth. And with spine chill it is pretty easy.

I like to go against him, most of the rounds are interesting and sometimes even bring jumpscares. Only thing I don't like is the broken reveal or stalk mechanic, but that's an issue of the dedicated servers I guess.

  • @DwightOP said:

UPDATE: I finished it. After finishing all challenges, I had 20 tiers left to grind by playing. The onky way to do that: wraith AFKing. And I did that (sorry for all the boring games survivors had). I checked out my steam hours, the past 2 weeks I had 84 hours played just on DbD. This was just to grind out the last 20 tiers by XP. So it's bs, honestly. I was keeping on my pc for multiple hours, how in the actual F is this casual friendly??

I also finished the rift a few days ago and I played 3+ hours a day, sometimes even 8 hours to archive that. It is definitely too grindy and kinda takes all the fun. When I did these basement challenges, I was frustrated like I've rarely been before and I don't want that to happen again. If they remove the "complete in a single trial" nonsense, I'll probably try to complete the next rift too, but I highly doubt it...

May I ask why u used wraith for AFKing? If you'd have used any other killer, survivors could at least farm some chase points themselves to not lose a pip or waste bp offerings. Just wondering.

  • The problem in general is, that people still dc if you play fair.

If you try to do achallenge like this, that forces you to play in a specific way that you may be not even like, but still try to keep it fair by not tunneling. And often people still dc (because many people dc without any reason at all), it is just frustrating. And with this frust as killer you may think "they dc anyway, might as well tunnel the next group".

The main problem is, that sometimes bad rounds affect the playstyle of your next round - which should not happen, but it often does. If people would stop dc or suicide on first hook, maybe the killers wouldn't play that toxic for a challenge.

Personally, I can't wait for the dc penalities to be back online.

  • It just has to do something with preference I guess.

I tend to go easier on people who are obviously not the best on the game and I most likely let a Nea or Dwight go if I'm in the mood.

I don't care about the skill level of someone if I let them go. If they played fair and didn't tbag, there's a chance I'll let the last one go. If I'm in the mood to let somebody go and one of the last two survivors is a Nea or Dwight, they are the chosen ones. If it's someone else, it's just gonna be the last one alive.

  • I'd delete all "complete in a single trial" challenges tbh. They are just stressing me out.

  • @Runcore said:

SWF is legit tactic same as tunneling, camping or slugging. Its often only way to get some kills against swf gtoups and gen rushing. Deal with it. Survivors have anti tunneling perks like DS or BT and killers can use tunneling, camp and slugging as tactic to get some kills. If you cannot handle it, leave.

The problem aren't the killers that tunnel/camp after getting gen rushed, but those wo do it without any reason, like ruin still up and 5 gens left and not even knowing if it is swf or not.

As example I recently had a game where all survivors brought bps and the killer a pudding (means 500x points for killer and 400x survivor).

He downed me first, hooked me and camped me until struggle, then immediately downed and hooked me again after I got unhooked. By that time one gen was done. Not only are things like that completely frustrating for the unlucky survivor, but also just shows lack of skill from the killer. And almost nobody, including the killer got much points in the end. It was a complete waste of offerings.

Things like that are just unnecessary. As killer I also sometimes tunnel or even proxy camp if I have a good reason to so. But not from beginning of the game, just tu completely ruin the game for one individual. That's just toxic behaviour and should not be done. Same for tbagging. Just unnecessary.

  • @Runcore said:

SWF voicecomm and genrushing needs to stop.

what is wrong when I talk with my friends about how my day was?

Not every swf group plays organized. Did you even read the OP? It basically also says genrush....

  • Completely agree with that. If everyone would just sweat a little less and don't take everything 110% serious, this game would be much more enjoyable for everyone.

But I guess this will always be a dream.

  • They might are a lot of pallets, but 80% of these are entirely unsafe. As killer you don't even have to break them or can even use them to your advantage.

I don't think there is a problem with this map. Now that BL got nerfed into the ground, I think this map is rather killer sided - depending on the killer of course. I really like this map, regardless which role I'm playing.

Can you PLEASE for the love of all things holy. Read everything that I write instead of picking out what you want to, then try to use it.

I said "I have said I dont know how many times, Im not faulting the killer or the survivor. and I said this AFTER i had posted that because other people have opened my eyes, because yes I was being in the favor of the survivor. BUT the killer had a choice and so did the survivor."

and thats straight from my post, so please stop acting like I never once said that I was that I was favoring the survivor.

You pick and choose and if you're trying to make it out like Im a bad player, or just hate killer mains then PLEASE READ EVERYTHING.

    Its getting old

The thing here is that you stated that the killer did hold the game hostage - which would be a bannable offense.so it is a pretty hard accusation. And from the situation you described it was pretty clear, that the killer did not hold the game hostage, but just tried to hook that guy in the basement for his challenge.

There are still a lot of people out there who don't really know what 'holding the game hostage' mean. Went against a swf group once, who 3 gen't themself (which wasn't even my plan at all). After the game they told me they are gonna report me for holding game hostage because I protected the gens. And they were serious about that.

I'm a survivor main and play killer from time to time, but I guess reading a wrong statement like this regarding to a bannable offense is just triggering or seen as attack. All I want to say is that one should be careful by accusing someone a bannable offense.

  • Use perks like prove thyself, we're gonna live forever or no one left behind as survivor, or BBQ and Distressing as killer along with offerings.

  • I could have gotten it first try (played with one friend), but the killer disconnected ( pretty sure it wasn't on purpose tho).

Then I got it 3rd try. I used the perks dark sense (obviously), prove thyself and bond to see, where my teammates are and hop on a gen with them. It is just a matter of timing. When I got hooked I saw someone on a gen across the map and one other got chased. So when the 3rd one unhooked me, I immediately ran to the one on the gen to finish the last few seconds.if you play solo, you really have to look what your teammates are doing and join them on the gen if possible.

It is just logic that you can't do this challenge with doing gens on your own. If you sit at gen 1 and two other people on gen 2 and 3, it is just obvious that you can't finish this challenge that way, because by the time you finish one, the other people finish theirs, too. This has nothing to do with gen speed, but rather with your own organisation and decisions.

  • Agree with this. Atm it is a 50% chance if you get hit during dead hard or not. It's just frustrating.

I use it instead of BL since it got nerfed because it is too situational now. But due to the fact that it is pure luck if you get hit during dead hard or not, I try to use it only to get distance on loops. Still, this is only half of the perks potential...

Waving your arms on the hook generally means "I am being camped" as it's really the only information you can signal that can't be confused with just doing nothing because you aren't trying to signal anything.

If people aren't coming to get me, ONE arm wave helps to get attention. Repeatedly doing it says to people "the killer's come back, it's not safe" and if you're doing that to say "come get me" it's a great way to go into second stage for no reason.

Additionally it's good to give a wave when someone's close to you but they're headed straight at a trap on the ground, they may not always get it but sometimes they'll change their path, especially if they know it's Trapper.

This is exactly how I do it and what also makes the most sense imo.

  • They really do a good job and I'm glad they answer so many questions! :)

  • It's completely broken atm. I play on pc and I think dedicated servers are the reason why it only works 50% of all times. The other 50% you get exhausted and still get hit. I only use it for extra distance in a loop, it is just not reliable for preventing a hit anymore.

The problem with DS, is that you could get DSed even if you go out of your way to not tunnel. You could slug, but neither the killer or survivor would enjoy it. Besides, if a survivor jumps in a locker, they're basically invulnerable for the next sixty seconds, and waiting for ds is just throwing the game.

As a survivor I'd rather get slugged than beeing hooked. As long as the killer doesn't go for a 4man slug I don't have a problem with it at all.

With the locker it depends what killer you are playing. Trapper or hag - just place a trap. Spirit: go away and phasewalk back. Or just eat the ds and go into another chase and get more points.
