I love the Oni and Feng skins and I'm hyped for them!
Also Jane and Spirit looking really good.
However, David's head is looking like a lion. Not a big fan of that one.
-
Don't worry, if the'd ban everyone that got (falsely) reported for hacking, they probably wouldn't have any players anymore.
I can't tell how often a survivor said that they'd reported me for cheating because they didn't know how some perks worked or because of latency of servers or sometimes even without giving any reason.
As far as I know you need to record the game and send it to the dev team, as well as the Steam ID of the person and report them ingame, to report someone for hacking. They'll then review the game and ban the person, if they really cheated. Ingame reports alone do nothing, besides saving the chat in case someone reports another player for insulting other people and behaving inappropriate in chat. (pls somebody correct me if I'm wrong)
So no need to worry, you won't get banned because of a false report from a salty bby survivor.
-
I wish they would add something like that in custom games.
I want to be able to start a custom game on my own, to be able to try things out or get to know the maps better.
It would be even better if you could choose if or how many AI's should be in the game or even be able to chose their perks. That would be incredible helpful for training and learning specific killers or trying things out.
-
My most favourite of all time will always be No0b3. I just love watching his videos and streams.
OhTofu is also really entertaining, as well an Bronx. For gameplay info I enjoy watching Otzdarva, and for really skilled killer gameplay ZubatLEL.
-
I think both roles are too easy to rank up.
I'm a survivor main and concentrated more on killer during the last month. In the past, I only made it to green ranks, because I didn't play killer a lot. It took me less than one month of playing killer (about 2 hours every other day) to get from rank 17 to rank 1. (side note: I play this game since 2016 and guess my general experience helped me to rank up this fast as killer, even though I don't have much experience as killer)
And to be fair, I clearly do not belong in red ranks at all. I really don't. But the thing is, there are also a lot of survivors in red ranks, that clearly don't belong there. That's the reason I either get games where the survivors completely destroy me or I completely destroy the team. It is so inconsistant.
I feel like in red ranks it is easier to pip as survivor, because as killer you need at least a 3k to pip (at least that's what I experienced) and as survivor you don't have to escape. However, I mainly play survivor, maybe that's the reason why I think it's a little easier.

It’s completely intentional game design. The devs made a shadowchange so that swings on unhookers prioritizes the unhooked survivors. Be aware and time it right.
I really hope this is not true.
That would basically mean if someone unhooks another survivor in my face, I can just stand there and can't do anything about it, except for letting the unhook happen and hit the unhooker afterwards?
I highly dubt that this is intentional, and if it is, it is absolute bs.
Would be good to have a confirmation of the dev team though.

No it isn’t, it’s a bug. The devs have acknowledged it as a bug.
So the devs know about it?
I hope they will fix it soon™, because this bs bug almost feels like the old BT.

This is one of the worst ideas I've ever heard of.
Especially with the upcoming changes, where you have to play the killer you queued with.
If I see a key in a lobby, I'll leave - regardless what role I play. Same for a group of blendettes. Or a 4 man team with 4 toolboxes. Or if you see a hacker in the game (legacy skin with barely any hours in the game). Nobody should be punished for not wanting to play against that.
The queue times aren't that much affected by it. it was worse in the past, where you had to find a completely new lobby again. Now, if a killer or survivor dodges a lobby, the next available player in the queue will join the lobby. There's not much time wasted.

Do we even want an accurate MMR rating? I mean like Scott Jund says -- do we want games with no weak links? Where everyone is about the same skill level? I mean it sounds good in theory, but in practice? I doubt it'd be much fun.
I also think like that.
If it would work perfectly, it would mean every game is a 2k - 2 survive. Which means, theoretically we'd already know how the game turns out, if everything would be as intended. Which is kinda boring I guess?
I mean at the moment there are sometimes games which are fun and you have in control and there are games which are actually frustrating. But isn't exactly this variety that helps to keep the game interesting?
If I'm not wrong, Matthieu Cote himself said a while ago, that the game is intended to be frustrating sometimes and that not everyone can happy every single match...
-
@Terro said:
I said this on a different discussion but I'm calling it now. The new MM isn't there to match ppl wit equal skills. It's there to predict wins and losses. Then make ppl physiologically happy with the results. Statistically the game will become close to 50/50. The devs said it themselves. Their system has gotten good at predicting whether or not the person succeeds or not. That doesn't imply skill.
I get your idea, but somehow the system has to come to a conclusion, which means it has to measure something, I guess...?
And on the other hand, I think it is just not possible for a system to predict the outcome of a game. DbD is a game where 1 little mistake can change everything. How can a system predict something like that?
I really don't know what to think about this kind of MM.
-
@RedditUser69 said:
Honestly I have a feeling the MMR system is going to be based roughly on the current emblem system but with some tweaks to make it a bit more accurate.
So honestly MMR will just be the current rank system but with a higher cap.
Maybe you're right. But I guess then plays like forcing a DS will count as "skilled" for the survivor and "unskilled" for the killer, just as an example. It also counts in the emblem system, also as escaping with a key.
I don't think it should be like that.
-
I really don't like this idea at all. This means that you basically can't do anything during hte lobby waiting times.
At the moment I'm spending the time by spending my bloodpoints on the killers I want to level up - which mostly is another killer than I want to play in the upcoming match.
This means in future I can't do anyting as killer anymore during the lobby waiting times.

I bought the Nea set, but I'm so disappointed that it is linked and can't be mixed with other outfits.
This completely destroys the individuality of the players and makes the characters more boring. Also as killer it is harder to tell survivor apart if everyone is using the exact same outfit. It only brings negative effects with it.
If I remember correctly they stated that the reason is to prevent the outfits from clipping. But 1st: guess what, the new Nea outfit still does it and 2nd: not any single soul ever cared about that, ever.
I'd rather have my outfits clipped through everything as long as I can mix them.
It probably makes sense for Legions Rabbit outfits or Lisa as legendary skin, but there's zero reason for any other cosmetics to be linked.
This decision makes me extremely unhappy and I won't buy any liked outfits again.
I really hope BHVR will revert the inked cosmetics.
-
I get your point and it is kinda frustrating. But I went through the same and I actually think it helps to learn how to play against better survivors.
I went through the exact same matches, some were frustrating, some surprisingly easy. And now I'm red rank killer myself, within 1 month of playing killer. Never made it this far before, I always were green rank the months before, but due to the fact I already played a lot against red ranks there I don't feel much difference now. That's the reason why I think it is not THAT bad.
On the other side, Bubba isn't the strongest killer. Maybe you should try another one, that is a bit stronger?
Rank doesn't mean anything anyway. As redrank survivor I'm matched with red ranks that play like yellow. Ifyou head for the rank 1 archivement I'd recomment using a stronger killer anyway.
-
Nea over everyone else for me. :)
-
They didn't say anything about "Survivor-sided". At the moment it is killer sided, which can lead to really ridiculous and frustrating hits, and may also be the reason for Dead Hard not working anymore.
In future the server will get a higher tick rate (60 instead of 30) and will check on both ends, if the hit was actually a hit, before registering it as such.
I thing this will help a lot. As someone who plays both sides equally, I really welcome this change and look forward to test it out on PTB.
-
No. I play both sides and can say this perk has a counter: don't look straight at the survivors/gens while approaching. Easy as that.
No need to nerf a perk that has a simple counter.
-
Tbh I was kinda shocked when I first read about the Obsidian Goblet add on. This basically encourages camping behind the wall of a hooked/caged survivor to get two hits for free (including the just rescued survivor, who doesn't even have DS out of the cage).
I mean it is true that a lot of PH tunnel, but to be fair you can tunnel with every killer. That's not necessarily a character problem, but a player playstyle. The only thing is that they don't need to worry about BT or DS when caging someone. But I think this add on should be reworked because this is some bs imo.
-
tbh I'll never be able to understand people that gets upset because the official sexual orientation of a fictional character does not equal their own expectations/wishes.
Ever heard of AU? Or AO3? That's all I gotta say to this topic. But I never cared much about canon anway. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
And regarding your side note: I see your point, but I've never ever seen anyone use these cosmetics anyway. I don't even like them much and probably won't use them anyway, because I have better ones. But I think it is not a bad thing, because finally some people actually are using some of these cosmetics. I agree they could add them to the store instead of giving them for free, but then everyone would complain about the "money milking". Doesn't matter what they do, there will always be people complaining. And who am I to complain about free cosmetics?! Also, I didn't had a chance to get these cosmetics because I couldn't play during that time due to vacation and I'm happy that they made them available.
-
About 30 bloodwebs for one medkit. Never found one in a chest until now. Tbh the high rarity of the items is what kinda depresses me about the event. And I don't want to risk losing my one medkit in a match, so I don't even take it with me. Kinda sad.
-
The cakes don't work anyway.
Also it is kinda depressing to get the crowns as survivor. A lot of killers bring moris since the event started or sweatin extremely for the 4k, without any reason. There's an event going. Chill. Give people a chance to get their crowns.
I think it is kinda sad. I alsways try to help out for challenges. Everytime a killer asks me to vault or go into a locker to grab me, I do it to help for the challenges. So I don't get why some people are so sweaty or toxic since the event started.
I don't even ask to get them for free a survivor, even though killers get them for free, but it is ridicilous how some people seem actively trying to prevent survivors from getting the crowns. Sad.
-
I'd guess Nea is bi, Yui is lesbian, Frank is bi, Joey probably gay, as well as David, Danny is bi, Philip straight.
Can't even explain why, it's just what I think. :)

@ZoneDymo said:
ermm because Killer and Survivor perks are not 1 on 1?
Its like saying you and I can both fight eachother and bring 4 items.
You bring a Spoon, a Rubber Ducky, a Sponge and a Loaf of Bread
While I take a Sword, a Gun, a Tank and an Armored Vest.
And then claiming we are equally matched because we both have 4 items.....
And yes yes YES I know about hte survivor meta etc, we dont need to get into that, you get my point im sure.
PS Sloppy Butcher, 3rd Seal, NoeD...they all pretty much "enchant" your M1 basic attack.
Totally agree with this.
Also, it is only truly a 4vs1 with a full swf team. I stopped counting how often I played with randoms who helped the killer with sandbagging (obviously on purpose), cornering others until killer finds them, trying to prevent others from escaping during egc or telling the killer where other survivors are or just farming off hook or just let someone die on first hook even if they have kindered. That's why I don't see the game as 4vs1, because you never know if your teammates even play as team at all or help the killer.

@CLAUDETTEINABUSH said:
I mean, because you have bad games that doesn't mean you should blame the devs for it -_-
Also I think that slugging ti everyone bleeds out is called "keeping the game hostage" and it's bannable
No it is not holding game hostage, because the game will end after 4 minutes if everyone blended out.
Holding game hostage would be for example bodyblocking someone for a long time in a situation where the game can't end. In the past it was possible to block the stairs from the basement as killer to prevent survivors from getting out. Some killers even went afk and waited for the survivors to DC. Or just cornering someone before egc was implemented.
Slugging would probably be unsportsmanlike behavior, if you really would want to report that. However, if a killer does that I just tab out of the game and watch some youtube videos. The only ones time the killer is wasting is his own.
-
I'd love to see more funny skins!
They add more variety to the game and I think it would be good to have more things in this game that spread joy and one can laugh about.
The only scary thing these days is to see 4 toolboxes in the lobby as killer or hearing one gen pop after another. The days DbD was a horror game for survivors have been gone long ago. So I don't see any problem with adding funny things to it.
-
The servers are still awful.
I still get hit behind walls or several meters away from windows and pallets or get downed 40 feet away from the killer.
Things like these happen in almost every match. I have a constant ping of 30-35 ms, european server. The game feels worse than playing against a 200ms ping killer in the past. Kinda frustrating, but I got used to it and am not even surprised anymore if impossible hits connect. It's just how it is now, sadly.
-
I also always feel bad for them, if they played with respect. And tbh I do a lot of bad plays due to that, which later cost me kills or even the whole game. If I got 3 kills I often let the last one escape. I just can't help it.
Only if people annoy me on purpose and pay disrespect, I don't feel bad at all. But killing a poor baby dweet, who is hiding behind a tree in the corner of the map, can be really hard.
-
Legion. Even though they aren't really strong, they're still fun to play. I like to run around the map and keep stabbing multiple people.
It is the only killer that brings me fun even if a match is going bad for me.
-
If someone is on the hook and flapping with their arms, I'm not gonna go for the unhook.
I started playing 2016 and it always meant that the killer is camping and everyone should do gens. And I think it us the only logical translation to this gesture. If someone does that out of boredom and nobody goes for the unhook, jokes on them. I only do it in case nobody unhooks me and I'd hit 2nd state if noone comes right now.
-
My comments to the listed meta perks as a red rank survivor:
DS - i used to run it but not anymore because in 90% of all matches it is a waste of a perk slot and doesn't get to use. I sometimes equip it on days where a lot of tunneling killers are playing though.
BT - same as DS basically. Also I mostly play in a swf team with one friend, which means there are two randoms who don't know how to take a hit with BT anyway. Also only useful if killer is camping. I don't do risky unhooks without any reason.
DH - never liked it that much. I used it for a while but it is easy to bait for killers and 90% useless since dedicated servers got live. I got downed mid animation so many times, it only works for reaching pallets or windows while looping, but not for avoiding a hit.
Adren - very powerful perk indeed, but I just think it is boring. You basically play with 3 perks the whole match to get an advantage when all gens are completed, which rarely happens when playing with randoms anyway.
Unbreakable - too situational. Most of the times the killer just hooks the survivors. It can be a game changer, but for me it's too situational.
I don't use these perks much because I don't like to use perks which get to use 1 out of 10 matches. I prefer perks that give me an advantage in most matches and situations. But I also like to switch around and try out new things to keep the game interesting.
-
You can take protection hits if the killer is carrying someone and you block him. That will always count as protection hit as far as I know.
-
Nea because I love her cosmetics and her appearance in general, like her lobby animation.
-
I think it goes too fast, even as survivor.
Sometimes the gens are done so quickly, that you can't do much at all in the game. Matches that are over within 5 minutes just feel bad, even if I escape. It does not feel like a win at all.
As killer the speed gives you so much pressure and stress that theres almost no space left for fun. You can't make one single mistake or you probably won't have a chance at all to get at least 1 or 2 kills.
I think it was way more fun in the past, when most matches used to be 10 -15 minutes at least. I don't even know when it changed. I guess when everyone knew the map by heart and just pressure gens instead of healing, because nobody is scared of the killer nowdays anyway.
On the other hand there are also matches, where your teammates don't touch a single gen and your team is getting destroyed within 5 minutes. It is really hard to balance I guess.

Unfortunately, killers cant tell if its a brown toolbox in your hand for a daily to sabo a hook, or if theyre walking into this...
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/614/3TM6FI75IFIL.jpg
So their more likely to prepare for a worse case scenario
@shalo I think I have yours beat, lol
I know but the same thing applies as survivor. I don't know if the killer brings an eboni, I don't know if he's gonna facecamp or tunnel me to death in the first 2 minutes of the game.
But that's why I said "everyone" needs to chill. But it will never work because it's a doom loop. If only the killer chills, they'll get genrushed and if only the survivors chill, they'll get kill rushed. Everyone's expecting the worst and that's why this game reached this point where it is now.
I just had to think about the vanilla experiment I participated, where everyone had to play without items, perks, offerings and add-ons. These matches were the most fun I've ever had in a long time as solo. Each match was about 10 - 15 minutes and they were pretty balanced in my opinion. If I'd could make a change to the game, I'd probably remove all items and "op" add ons of the game entirely. Or taking items to the next match in general. There are chests, take what you find in game, rework keys and moris and the game could be more fun for everyone imo. The only problem is that perks bring variety to the game, playing without perks all the time might be boring. But maybe just nerf all strong perks in general. Idk, hard to say, but I think the game has too much strong perks, items, add ons and offerings and would be better without them tbh.

it's a 1v4 not a 1v1 mate.
It is neither of both.
Technically you're right but the amount of times I got killed by teammates are countless.
I'd say it is a 1v4 with swf. But with randoms it is more like an egotistical survival game with everyone against the killer but not as a team and you can't trust anyone. Sometimes it feels more like everyone vs everyone.
-
Not really a classic cartoon, but I think Lady Devimon as killer and Matt as survivor (Digimon) would be kinda awesome.
-
One time I played during blood hunt survivors brought 4 bps and killer brought a pudding. He found me first, downed me quick and facecamped me to death for no reason. I got 2k bloodpoints. No gen was done at this time.
Killer got about 20k with all four sacrificed.
I'll never understand that. This was the biggest waste of offerings I've ever seen.
I played with one friend, we weren't a full swf group. So now during bloodhunt I always ask if someone else brings bps. If they bring, I won't, to avoid that waste to happen again. It is sad, but I feel like a lot of people want to avoid others from getting bp. I've even had a claudette as teammate once in a farming round who prevented me from getting a flashlight save by standing in the way on purpose and trying to steal all unhooks...some people just get turned on by beeing toxic, idk.
-
People need to chill.
I mean there's a rift challenge to sabo hooks, which requires, guess what, a toolbox.
Also it is not even possible to tell what item is used. Most of the time I only bring a brown toolbox or brown medkit just to bring something. Not everyone uses a bnp or bs. I just don't like that dodging behaviour in general. If you see a group with 4 toolboxes, I kinda can understand. But some dodge even when they see one, which is overreacting imo.
If killers bring a mori, survivors also have to deal with it. If I get camped by a huntress with iri hatchets, i also have to deal with it. Everyone needs to take a breath and chill a bit about this game. The only reason it lost it's fun is because everyone is taking it too serious imo.
-
Frank main here but whatever:
Thanathophobia - to slow the game down
Nurse calling - in case someones healing, which happens surprisingly often
Discordance or BBQ - to find people fast and for BP
Thrilling tremors or M&A - to get an overview of the gens and block them for a while / to sneak at survivors and get closer before they can react
-
Ranks doesn't matter anyway, I don't even know why people care. As red rank survivor I get matched with green or even yellow killers and teammates every game. Rank doesn't matter, it has no impact at the matchmaking.anyway in its current state.
-
They all are fictional characters and can be whatever you want them to be.
And even if the devs would say otherwise, it doesn't really matter because sometimes the fanfictions of fans are better than the canon story, so....it's just fiction anyway. No rl person gets affected by all of this.
-
My ping is 30-35 ms every game and I still get hit from a clown who's standing on a window on 2nd floor after I hit the ground outside, or on the ther side of pallets after they were thrown or after I vaulted them or 5 meters away from a window or behind walls,....the list is endless.
And sometimes the weapon went right through me but misses.
Dedicated servers were broken from the beginning and they still are.
Even when playing with 200ms killers in the past, I've never faced these issues like I do with these servers. The servers kinda destroyed the game. If I had one wish for the game it would be to turn off the servers. It is just depressing when impossible hits connect, and those that should have hit you don't.
Needless to say that DH is useless on these servers, because you even can get hit mid animation. The only use this perk has left is the dash forward to reach places. But it is rarely possible to dodge a hit with it, even if the timing was right.
-
I also play since 2016 a d it always meant "killer is camping".
Now a lot of people do it out of impatience, but if someone does flap with their arms, I'm not gonna go for the unhook, because I always assume it means the killer is face camping. So if someone dies or hitting second state because they do the "warning" sign out of impatience, I don't see it as my fault.
For me it is like that:
Rising arms up and down continuously: killer is camping, do gens!
Do nothing: it's safe to unhook me
Slight waving after a while: no ones coming, unhook me rn!
Slight waving while someone approaches for unhook: watch out, there's a trap near by! (Or "hurry!", depends on the killer)
I always do it like that and the majority of teammates I play with do the same as well. I think it is the best and most logical interpretation of it.
-
As far as i know the prisoned avatars means that the user has received a warning and some functions, such as opening a new discussion, are blocked for them temporarily.

I play with one friend as well and it goes exactly as the original post described either way. He runs Object of Obsession so he watches the killer and loops them and I go do gens. Swf is way too easy
Yeah but it is your own choice to play like that. And like that, with a op perk like OoO, swf really is way too easy.
But if you'd just play casual like me and my friends with not much clue and unorganized, because you don't even really care and just fool around with each other, you'd probably not going to survive most games.
Swf alone is not toxic or unhealthy for the game, but can easily get unhealthy if it gets too organized, too informational and people play it too serious. But this is the choice of the players, if they play "toxic" or not. Me and my friends choose not to.
Most of the time we talk literally about anything else than the things that happen in game. I still use perks like kindred, so I don't even have to tell if someone is going for the unhook or not, cause everyone can see anyways. The main reason we play swf is just so we have to do something while talking and not just sitting in front of the pc doing nothing. Sometimes we also play as killer "together" - just talking while playing normal rounds as killer, which even gives us disadvantages, since you can't hear the survivors that well. Even as survivor I perform much better as solo than in swf, because I play way more serious as solo. All I want to say is that it is your own choice if you "abuse" swf too much or not.
-
Glad in not the only one. In my experience green ranks are the most toxic players. Purple and red are a lot more chill, I don't understand why it is that way. Everytime I see a mori offering, I know it is a green rank killer and I'm 98% right with this every time. Maybe it is because they just don't pip with all the moris, tunneling and face camping and don't make it to purple ranks with these tactics.

But you can even get 8 hooks and won't kill a single one by doing so. So you're telling me you should tunnel 2 survivor every game and camp them? Kk :)
No, I'd never encourage camping and tunneling. I only stated that this is the minimum for a "perfect" game ( even though a "perfect" game is something else in my point of view). But in some cases it also might be justified. Let's say you already won 8 chases and got 1 kill. Exit gates are open and you hook a survivor. A lot of people would camp to secure their kill, which is understandable. Some would go and try to get another hook or kill, which is what I would do if I don't have a kill challenge. Highly depends what to do in what situation.
I mean it is difficult to balance this game at all. Sometimes if the survivors are potatoes you can even get all 12 hooks before one single gen is done...
-
Imagine lil Susie or Hag putting Oni on a hook. :D
-
Yes, currently I work on my Cosplays for Frank and Steve.
Later this year I plan on cosplaying Nea and maybe also Yui. :3
