Not when you're healthy it doesn't

So now that survivors have no counter for Nurse, Blight and one-hit-downs everything will be great.
This patch has way to many killer buffs and way to many survivor nerfs to last, once it goes live.
How exactly did DH counter one hit downs?

After we get ETA for SWF removal which is the sole reason Nurse has to exist, because no other killer can properly compete with SWF on high levels.
You can't switch killers in lobby. How does nurse help out with swf if you're queuing as anything else?

No, they should just remove these stupid nerfs from it and Calm Spirit - period. The definition of a perk: “an advantage or benefit following from a job or situation.” So why are so many survivor perks being turned into something that actually puts the user at a disadvantage? Who in their right mind thought it was ok for Botany to go from giving a 33% medkit efficiency, to not only removing it but adding a 20% medkit penalty to the perk user? The devs are sacrificing perk variety all in the name of shaking the meta - which is still going to result in mostly seeing the same 12 or so perks on each side at the end of the day anyway!
Stop nerfing fine perks out of existence, BHVR!
Botany will still be a good perk. Calm spirit on the other hand doesn't need that horrible downside
-
She probably will be at some point
-
Idk, now my Cheryl will go to p9 instead of p11 like on the ptb, either way all prestige rewards are got so I don't really mind
-
I'm sure people have beaten old 5-blink nurses at some point
So uhhh let's bring it back

I'm often on OP's end of arguments like that. I prefer to be play very strategic on survivor and most players don't. I'm not going to feed the killer hooks or kills for no reason at the end of a game. I don't know what perks my solo teammates have, they don't know what perks I have, and I don't know if they even know how to properly unhook in a contested situation.
Chances are, someone isn't going to check ping or know not to go for a risky unhook against a ping-y killer. Someone gets grabbed half the time. Literally the worst possible thing you could do, but by golly players do it. Or someone manages to go down under the hook, and you're now a sitting duck.
I think a lot of it does boil down to mindset. Most survivors seem to play just to make plays, and an escape is something that can happen at the end of a trial. Other player like myself are quite a bit more competitive in the sense that we don't care what happens at all during the game as long as we're crossing the exit gate at the end. I'll gladly sit on gens for 5-8 minutes and never see the killer if it means I'm escaping.
I'm the opposite, will probably go for a basement save against a noed hag if it seems like the more interesting option.

The thing is, even people who disliked Iron Will did not run Stridor back in the day. Except on Spirit. And if a Perk is only really useable on one Killer, it is not really a good Perk and should be changed. And IMO instead of nerfing Stridor, it should have been completely reworked back then.
But now Iron Will is dead. And with it probably Lucky Break as well, since there is 0 point in hiding your Blood and Scratch Marks, when you can be heard.
Lucky break already pairs great with bite the bullet 👍

You did not actually compare cheating in a videogame to murdering someone, right? RIGHT?
also, you may see a vac ban but you actually don’t know what the cheats were, maybe it was just some cosmetic stuff, maybe it was a family shared account that got a ban and they actually didn’t do anything themselves, maybe they were 12 years old and messing around in Counter Strike while now never cheating again.
it’s okay for you to dodge these profiles if you want to. But otherwise, don’t be so judgmental without knowing the full story.
My little bro has a VAC ban for cheating in counter strike, I assumed it was just the modern pre-teen's rite of passage

If you want to lower your MMR just play without perks and addons. If you still win you shouldn't really be going any lower than that.

Although if solo queue were improved, fewer survivors might see it as the only option.
Someone finally put it into words. Most people don't play SWF to "bully" the Killer, although there are some who do that. They play it because Solo Q is absolutely ######### miserable.
Yeah I mean people who want to do bully squad things will still do that as will people who just like playing with their regular friend group but there's a not-insignificant amount of people who will just link up with strangers on discord if they want to play survivor and the choice is that or solo

Showing an escape against a killer is a simple counter-example against claims she is unbeatable.
Showing no escape to say that killer is OP holds no value. The only thing that it shows is that it's possible to win with that killer.
It's not about proof, it's about refutation.
"Unbeatable" is hyperbole though, I doubt anyone is suggesting she has a killrate of 100%

To show Nurse is not OP and winnable, even with some of the strongest tools available to her. Take what you want from the screenshot or not, I don't care.
I did also make a detailed reply to your comment about Lethal Pursuer on Nurse earlier in the thread, but you didn't have anything to say about that.
You could post a screenshot of several survivors escaping a nurse to prove she's balanced, and someone could post four sacrificed by her to show she's OP. You could do the same with clown. Ultimately they don't tell us much about the match and even if they did it's only one (or a few, out of very many)
-
I don't like survivors getting a say in whether I'm in stealth or not. It's just not my thing.

Billy for me personally is way harder than Nurse but one thing people conveniently pretend to ignore every very single time Nurse is discussed
Billy without a chainsaw like everyone else can chase survivors normally
His power unlike Nurse's is INSTA DOWN, you need to hit survivors twice to down them with Nurse, so yeah I do think his power should be harder to use. That's why everyone plays Bubba instead - way easier to use with far less effort.
Every killer who has insta down without perks/add ons should be hard to use
I wouldn't say Myers, GF, or bubba are especially hard to use.

SWF can't be and shouldn't be removed. Although if solo queue were improved, fewer survivors might see it as the only option.

@Sluzzy said:
When survivors are nerfed every patch and overall killers buffed every patch, all killers need nerfed. Why Nurse is a topic instead of Blight, which is tremendously easier to decimate teams is laughable.
The simple solution is to buff survivors so it doesn't take absolute pro team to have a slight chance to win and remove all the wallhacking perks and addons killers have and killers like Nurse wouldn't need nerfing.
Killers are a huge problem right now, not only nurse, because again survivors are insanely weak.
Sluzzy, blight is not stronger than nurse. Huntress and demogorgon and wraith and all the others you complain about (Sadako?) are not stronger than nurse. If you're truly committed to being a survivor advocate then you have to respect that your favourite toy going in the bin is very high up on the survivor wishlist.
-
I think you definitely could've beaten this team, there were a few points in the video you could've swung it in your favour.
Mostly at 5:09, right after downing the Yoichi, you have to go get the Meg back down as well. She was extremely hungry for saves, it's reasonable to think she would be back even straight after getting unhooked. Even if you hit her BT she can't just go chill in a locker anymore. You also have coulrophobia which is a better slugging perk than it is at doing anything else - even if survivors are fully recovered it takes a teammate longer than they might think to get them back up, and a team as altruistic as this will want them back up asap. Three survivors on the floor in the same area might be hard for them to come back from, and that Dwight will most likely have to get off gens.
Another issue apart from that is too much cloaking, if they're all right in your face there's little point in cloaking again, especially if they all hve flashlights.
I know it's easy coming from someone watching and not playing, but i'm just trying to be helpful :)
You did make some good plays and not everything was your fault, you were outperked, you have the limitations of a controller, you brought play with your food and your obsession was the gen jockey. Also locker blind stuff is very obnoxious.

Running into a bird while you were swarmed did damage instead of resetting the timer. It really wasn't necessary or a big deal to lose

Yeah seems about to be the vibe I'm getting throughout all this is to pick the right killers, to limit my expectations on how much ass I can kick, and I also started dodging obvious SWF lobbies lol but I appreciate the honesty
There'll also be the option to play with bots soon enough for practice on killers you're unfamiliar with :) they might be a bit janky but they probably won't teabag so much :p

Plague? Not viable? She's one of the most solid killers in the game
Oh dear, someone hasn't been studying the official forum tierlist
-
Yeah I got into her recently and she's my most played killer atm. I think most people trying her don't put in enough time figuring out long-distance or staggered hits which are the most fun part by far
Tracking and shutting down loops are also useful but less interesting.
-
a dbd killer who worked like a resistance mastermind could be interesting...but I'm picturing frantically spawning 50 zombies at a gen being worked on who then all get stuck on the same bush

I play on both sides, man. Just trying to figure it out considering I was dealing with a hag that placed every trap possible at a hooked survivor and stayed right there. Not even with my two other teammates and I could get them out. Only reason why we even all got out was because she felt bad about doing it and let us leave. EVEN SHE THOUGHT IT WAS WEIRD!
That's less an issue with the camera swing and more no minimum trap placement to a hooked survivor, which is an outdated part of her power.

Nice animation.
Well now the goalpost will cange from 110% with 1 blink to "110% with 1 worse blink".
Thes nerf nurse crew will not rest until shes simply isnt good anymore, similiar to what happened to HB.
Hardly anyone wanted Billy nerfed. At the point when he was nerfed the two killers you saw everywhere were 1) spirit 2) Freddy with 4 slowdown perks and 2 slowdown addons. Unsurprisingly survivors were very much focused on those.
I know inane us vs them rants at every possible opportunity is fun and everything but you're letting bhvr off the hook for their ridiculous balance decisions by acting like the survivor main shadow council are the ones really pulling the strings.

The problem is that new killers get rekt because freddy, myres, pinhead, ghostface, nemises, ringu all trash compared to high teir killers.
People come to this game because of these franchises and are leave soon after.
Somehow referring to Sadako as "ringu" is the most irritating part of the whole thread
-
360s existing are mostly just yet another middle finger to the poor sods still attempting to play killer on ps4/xbone/switch
-
I haven't prestiged any of the killers I play the most and on the PTB they all went to p3. Prestiging them now would just be chucking away a lot of addons and flans really
-
Off the record and lucky break should work well. No injured noises, aura reading, blood, or scratchmarks and you can tank a hit.
Or maybe sprint burst + lightweight
-
It will probably be a nice grind reduction for those of us who have a lot of perks on several characters or who have prestiged a lot. They just need to do something for the newest players. Giving them a certain amount of free shrine unlocks could help out some.

I understand the logic, but at the same time it kinda sucks when you load into a match with, I dunno, pig and see 4 toolboxes because you know you already lost, but with a different killer you might have a chance.
Incidentally, I have always dreamed of loading into a match with 4 medkits as plague, but that never happens when I play her xD.
Oh that happens to me a lot when I play plague, happened yesterday >:)

I would usually roll my eyes at this kind of post but god the teams I was getting yesterday. Malding at me for every little thing, insisting I tunnelled them when I very much didn't etc etc. I did go against a few cool people as well which is what keeps me from the dark side. Mostly.

You get people trying to go as low as possible with every MMR system. Interestingly enough with chess it gets really hard because you drop through the levels with particularly bad new players and reach a level where there's only other people actually trying to lose.
-
@EvilSerje said:

Nope. Don't talk for everyone. Flashlight clicks give me only positives, it is free "Infectious Fright", I always know where survivor is and from which side.
If flickering images hurt someone, they shouldn't play this game, and nothing wrong with that, I gave example in previous comment.
But if someone's ego hurt (and they are too cowards to acknowledge it), then they should suffer and there's no place for them in the game.
If it was about that then people would demand teabagging be removed too (I know some do, but not in this thread)
But teabagging has to stay anyway because there are important gameplay reasons to be able to move quickly between standing/crouched positions, like dodging projectiles
Flashlight clicking serves no essential purpose, and while it can be fun, if it can have potentially harmful effects on people's health it should go
-
Trapper, sadge, wraith, Myers, pig
Stealth is a rough way of life 😓

They'll be nice for testing weird stuff, warming up, maybe practicing a new killer with a difficult power

So if there's two survivors left it should? What if the hatch spawns near either of you? What if you both have Unbreakable or Exponential? What if you are in an area where you can not be hooked and escape through the hatch? Should it be programmed for a suicide feature to be an option is those specific circumstances? Is that really necessary?
So if there's two survivors left it should?
Yes
What if the hatch spawns near either of you?
It doesn't spawn at all with 2 survivors
What if you both have Unbreakable or Exponential?
Don't bleed yourselves out then. It should be an option, not forced
What if you are in an area where you can not be hooked and escape through the hatch?
You won't be escaping yourself if you die, although your teammate could. Bleeding out can count as a kill if boil over gamers are a concern
Should it be programmed for a suicide feature to be an option is those specific circumstances?
Yes
Is that really necessary?
Yes
-
It doesn't have to be an option every single time you're downed, but you should at the least be able to rapidly speed the process up when a) you're in the dying state and b) there are either 2 or 1 survivors left.
It's a dull and anticlimactic end to a trial especially when the killer can't find or catch the other survivor who then sneaks back over to heal you and then this whole ridiculous process drags on for 10 minutes because the killer will immediately soil their gaming chair if they have to suffer the indignity of a measly 3k
Bleeding out the last survivor instead of hooking them is another good thing to reduce, even if it doesn't happen much in my experience.
