Oh yes, another option to kill us was the old Huntress with the currently nerfed Iri Head, the best killer add-on in the game, now nerfed into the ground. Rip

I understand.
Still, it would make the game a bit more clunky. It's smart on paper, but I worry what it would look like in practice.
Your creativity is commendable, though! I love the ideas!
Thanks :) I wanted to think of one for spine chill because I don't see that being used ever anymore, but got nothing for that one really.

Iron Will
I'm with you, I don't think this change is a good one. It feels downright malicious.
The exhaustion debuff was enough, cracking open the perk's viability was horrid. Even reducing its effectiveness to 92% would have been a massive nerf that would see its use fade away, but 75% is just downright cruel. I cannot imagine a player looking at this incarnation with fondness.
I have to disagree with Iron Will becoming an Exhaustion perk by rote - but I could see it applying Exhaustion whenever injured, as to allow for limited Exhaustion use while healthy - and also encouraging smart healing to restore exhaustion perks at will.
Decisive Strike
Disabling certain killer powers may prove to be both impractical and completely imbalanced.
Disabling Shape T3 can obliterate the match, disabling the plague's ability to infect can destroy the fun of a game, a wraith being unable to de-cloak or a nurse unable to blink is effectively useless. While I certainly see the appeal, I think it would create more problems than it would solve. I'd rather get hit with a 6s stun than see a version of the game where killers can be disarmed by survivors and effectively at their mercy.
Calm Spirit
Exactly.
I think the perk should go in a different direction altogether - but the speed debuff is completely unnecessary, I agree.
Thanks for the feedback, the power being disabled would only be for a few seconds, mainly to prevent an instant blink/rush/phase/hatchet/teleport etc to redown the survivor before they can really do anything. All the m2s which injure really.
Reactions with lower tier killers wouldn't really have an effect imo, i.e. Myers can't stalk (rather than being forced back into T2 or something) wraith can't recloak (since he's always uncloaked when picking up a survivor afaik, even when grabbing while cloaked from lockers) and trapper can't put a trap down, but all of those are things that probably wouldn't happen anyway if the killer is in a rush to get the survivor again.

Yeah, been very cringe watching the forum blow-up. I can’t stop watching and laughing though. This place goes cross-eyed as soon as BHVR attempts to tweak anything and then gets upset when they back track and decide to do nothing lolol.
Hopefully BHVR is too deep to not pull the trigger (this time) and all the cry babies don’t scare them into another 6 month redraw from making any “shake-up” changes. I use to blame BHVR but now I just blame the community feedback and over dramatic displays of emotions to a little video game.

As i said this is good for m1 killers, but nurse can just catch up instantly by charging her blinks, 5 seconds isn't enough to make distance, imagine 3
As you said it doesn't matter whether it's 3 or 5 seconds with her. But if it was 3 seconds and disabled use of the killer's power for a short period after that, it could actually hit nurse the hardest.
-
It's a lot better. If you smash a couple of dulls during the match and keep in mind the general area you did them in, it shouldn't be hard to find with the new aura. Prioritise breaking ones in hard to reach areas or areas the killer could easily defend (i.e. right next to a hook, very out in the open near exit gates)

Vaulting pallets and windows is now safe even if you are animation locked.
Fast vaulting windows, yes. Medium vaulting windows or vaulting pallets you can grab
-
They should stil more more for new players. Something like being able to unlock a certain amount of perks on the shrine for free would be a good start.

DS, OTR, MoM and SG or Adrenaline will be pretty strong.
With MoM being easier to get can break out the MoM/object combo more often 🥰
(For anyone that doesn't know MoM when activated and rehealed gives you permanent aura reading on the killer from 16m with object)

It is clear as mud that BHVR hates survivors.
When they said generators are powered a little too quickly I rolled my eyes and said to myself:. where and when?
They nerfed gen regression perks but buffed other gen regression perks and still increased gen repair times too?
Sluzzy do you think nurse might need a nerf as a result of these changes?

Seriously? Basekit BT immunity PLUS an extra speed boost PLUS the other buffs? I don't see how the killer getting a minor gen slowdown & slight increase in M1 hit speed balances that out.
A reduction in hit cooldown, survivor distance gained and pallet breaking time will add up, even if the numbers are small by themselves.

I mean, you are using a Clown-Emoji, this already shows that your opinion does not matter and you are irrelevant, but I will try:
Dont worry, Off the Record does not really do anything in Endgame, when you can just tunnel and camp easier now DURING the game due to the changes the Devs are making.
Does off the record deactivate in endgame?

Killers got bloodlust buffed, breaking pallets buffed, hit recovery buffed, that will contribute to faster downs.
True, although tier 1 brutal strength and 2 stacks of sbtfl aren't necessarily gamechangers
-
@Marigoria said:
Genrush will be the only thing survivors should be doing from now on.
Since stealth and looping were nerfed, from both basekit changes to killer and stealth perks being nerfed, that's all survivors are supposed to do imo.
Stealth kinda and holding W yes but looping? If you mean dead hard it's not mandatory at all.

y'all will do anything except admit that these changes missed the mark.
I wouldn't necessarily object to it being slightly longer and I hope they do extend it if it turns out not to be enough, but I want to see how it plays out. Being able to guarantee sprint burst after being unhooked is also nice.

Without the bonus BP, its just an niche aura reading for ultra mobile killers like nurse or dregde. Slower killers will find more value of using Floods of Rage
Not related, but i just realized that david king probably has a British accent and now I can't stop laughing thinking about it
Specifically David's accent would be this:

I'm planning the same, gonna go full aura artist with lethal persuer. They'll know I have LP since there's no way I'll be able to resist firing birds at them immediately. Just gotta hope no one has object 😅

Nobody. Not even the best player in the world makes no mistakes at all.
I don't think any game more complex than Chess has ever had a match in which absolutely zero mistakes were made. Especially one as mechanically complex as DbD.
Mistakes happen at the highest levels of chess play too, including serious ones ("blunders") it's an easy way for cheaters to get caught out playing online, only computers don't make mistakes.

Ruin, iron will, spine chill are all probably dead. BBQ might stay popular on a few killers.

Thanks I'm sure that will help against Nurse and Blight. Oh and I'm sure they're terrified of my 3 second DS stun as well.
Then run DS and off the record. If 5 seconds of haste, a 3 second stun, and 80 seconds of endurance can't help you, it's doubtful anything could.

Dead Hard was always going to be complained about as long as it denied killer hits. Anyone who thought Dead Hard was going to get changed in a way that it wouldn't be an extra "health state" was deluding themselves.
Plus people were complaining about both the distance aspect and the dodging hit aspect, so it was bound to still be a complained about perk.
My only gripe is the change to Dead Hard gives no indication to the killer it's being used. So it's just going to lead to "hacking" complaints.
They said there'll be an animation for it.
-
What you have to protect against tunnelling at base now - 5 secs of haste and endurance
what you had before - literally nothing
I'm sorry if you feel that's a downgrade, it isn't though

No it just removed the cooldown if I remember correctly their was a bit where the m1 was removed or it might have been the one that blocked pallets after a hit and trickster made it almost God awful to play
Blood favour, yeah at first a single trickster knife blocked pallets, now I think you have to lose a health state
-
@Peanits can DS and OTR synergise? Like DS out of a locker or something then tank an endurance hit after?
-
@Marigoria said:
Yea once again solo was not only ignored, but this time butchered.

Yeah Peanits go and tell to the nurse player using double range which allows her to move at around 499% what damage 7% of speed is gonna do, i don't really think you realize that all this update does is make camping and tunneling even more stornger, but hey can u guys give us 100k bloodpoints i'd really need that ty <3
If they have the guts to make these changes then nurse's days might be numbered as well.
-
And DS won't be anymore, so I guess it...balances out?

Crutch Hard in the mud. You love to see it.

I like all of these changes, actually- some I don't think were necessarily the best they could be, but I also don't think any are actually, purely bad. The only one I'm even wary of is Off The Record since I imagine it'll mostly be used to bodyblock, but even then, it can only do that twice in a trial, so that's probably fine.
And the basekit changes, my god, I'm speechless. It all looks incredible.
Like I thought there'd be at least one change I'd hate but I really don't. I thought a lot of changes would be kinda meh and a couple are, like coulrophobia. But only a couple. Kinda speechless as well tbh
Edit: Actually the knockout buff I'm not too sure about

It doesn't seem to occur to some that another survivor dying when there's several gens to go drops their own chances of survival much more than getting hooked once themselves.

Crossmap shots are hard to get but man do they feel good. It's probably the only fun thing I find about playing artist
It's that and setting up nice sequence hits. Last time I played her I saw a Jeff go into the basement with BBQ, set bird 1 pointing towards the basement, set bird 2 at the top of the basement stairs, go into basement, m1 Jeff who was rudely going through a chest, he runs out, I fire, bird 1 hits just as he gets swarmed by bird 2 and he goes down
I might upload that one I was very pleased with it
-
It didn't take too long to get to a reasonable level with blight, especially as the game really liked giving me lerys over and over so you have to be pretty precise for that. Probably rusty af right now though.
Killers harder to learn for me personally:
Nurse - I will forever suck at nurse
Billy - see above also it just doesn't feel worth it to learn properly sadly
Artist - just in terms of crossmap shots, the rest isn't so complicated

No multiplayer games I've ever played do a casual mode with MMR for matchmaking. That makes no rational sense and defeats the entire point of casual. Casual is for the fastest queue time possible and to just get into a match, not to coddle feelings by hiding information. Even from a concept point that just sounds silly.
Of the ones I've played, smite does and R6S does, I'm pretty sure others do so as well.
-
@Blueberry said:
The only rational and legitimate reason to have it hidden is because it doesn’t work well and we can’t call them out on it if it doesn’t. Essentially how we were able to point the problems out before when it showed rank. Any game with an mmr system the default expectation would be to show the mmr or a rank equivalence. The only games you don’t show it are casual games..but you don’t put an mmr system into a casual game..hence I find it difficult to argue it’s a casual game. Until they stop putting anything other than mmr/rank into the post game lobby they are going to continue to confuse new/casual players.
Multiplayer games with MMR systems usually have ranked and casual modes. They show it in the former and hide it in the latter but MMR is still used for matchmaking in both.

1) Demise of the faithful - good killer, good killer perks, good survivor, decent map
2) Silent hill just because it's silent hill. Love Cheryl, have come to like the map, pyramid head isn't really for me but it's still cool he's in the game
3) Darkness amogus - Killer was horrible on release, map was horrible on release, the survivor is usually forgotten about, impressive for being a mess of a chapter that the game survived and has since improved on.

For spine chill i think they are probably going to make it not work against undetectable, or maybe only work when you are injured. And also they should remove the vaulting speed boost.
Hope i actually think is going to get nerfed. It can actually be very powerful right now.
I don't think gift of pain would inflict broken because of tunelling.
Pop goes the weasel is definitely not going to get buffed. It's one of the top 5 most used killer perks.
For BBQ and WGLF i agree they are just going to get rid of the bp bonuses.
Noed i don't think they are just going to get rid of speed boost because that's not the commonly complained about aspect of the perk. Personally i think they are just going to have it make the killer undetectable or something.
I don't think deja vu needs a rework. The duration of the aura should be permanent.
Dead Hard endurance effect.. idk about that one,
Decisive Strike while in chase effect? There's no way they are buffing this perk.
I don't think Surge is going to get buffed. Infact i think they are nerfing every gen regression except for overcharge.
Thanataphobia i think may actually get reworked because it's not a fun perk to face.
I don't think they're going to nerf all gen regression since call of brine isn't on there and it's one of the better ones. They won't nerf hope, the point of all this is to get people trying less used perks and it isn't seen often.
-
How would monstrous shrine work as a scourge hook? I guess it could turn basement hooks into scourge hooks?
You could even make noed a scourge hook. A minute of exposed for every survivor previously hooked on one.
-
I wouldn't expect too much understanding here...
