There's one thing I want to try with it but keep forgetting to which is run it on ghostface and see if survivors assume I'm back in my regular stealth and start paying more attention to trying to break me out than the chase. Other than that I don't see much point in it.

No, I don't mean they can't. I just believe many also fail to acknowledge their own misplays and like to blame it on MMR. And I always ask, do you win more than you lose as killer? Only 2 people have ever answered.
I saw a post where a person said they had 200 hours as killer and they were "high MMR". Sorry, but I can't help but be skeptical.
I've seen several small-time streamers (not anyone from here or any names I'll mention) who claim to be high or max MMR and then watched their stream to see if that's something that can be observed. It generally seems to be extremely average gameplay bolstered with extremely strong perks/addons and a zero-fun-allowed playstyle. But the chases on either side in terms of how quickly they can end them/make them last is really nothing special.
But then the people they're up against do seem tough to beat, and their queues seem longer than the norm so maybe they are up there. In which case determination to win probably plays as much if not more of a role than "skill".
-
These are reworks of other perks, with reasoning behind them added:
Predator: you become obsessed with one survivor. The obsession leaves scratch marks through any form of movement.
[There aren't enough obsession perks currently that make being the obsession something to potentially worry about, but they don't have to be as obnoxious as old dying light either. There's some risk/reward, if the obsession is a very good looper and doesn't really do stealth it's unlikely to make much difference]
No mither: While healthy, the first attack which would put you into the dying state instead puts you into the injured state and applies the status effect broken for the rest of the trial.
[I like "second chance" perks to have high risk/reward. If the killer has no instadowns except noed then you could potentially get insane value out of this perk. If you get chainsawed by a bubba 30 seconds into the match or the killer has no instadowns at all, you really won't]
Didn't do perk tiers because those shouldn't really be a thing anymore.
-
Do their egos bother you that much? If they want to think of themselves as gods for escaping as a SWF against trickster on haddonfield then let them. Type gg, go back to the lobby and take comfort in the fact the next match is statistically unlikely to be as unpleasant as that one.
-
That'd be nice but swf would abuse it.

What? The killer literally just received a perk called Plaything. A very powerful perk, don't be ungrateful.
Another plaything fan? All is forgiven if you're a fellow connoisseur
-
I haven't had it take that long before but I have loaded in, finished a gen, gotten into chase and then the game failed for no one loading in?
-
Basically I treat having saboteur/a toolbox the same way as having a flashlight - I won't throw the game by chasing after killers while they chase someone else but if I get the chance nearby I'll go for it. I use the yellow addon to not give notifications and take down a hook in the area when I think the survivor is about to go down then head for another hook trying to keep out of sight. Even if you've drained your toolbox standing confidently in front of a hook while the killer approaches will usually get them to drop the survivor if there's no others available too.
-
Nemesis is a better killer than blight?
-
Survivors didn't come up with dead hard and aren't in charge of balancing perks. The devs would be the ones to complain to. Unless someone thinks that if you tell survivors they can't play without their overpowered crutch perks enough times they'll collectively forego them out of some sense of honour?
-
I still think killers should have the ability to break totems if they don't a boon being used in that area. Bhvr would probably reject that idea on the basis that killers might just go around destroying every totem at the start of the match, which I guess they could but it'd be a pretty big waste of time.

I don't which I'm a bit irritated by. I only got my demo adept recently.

The one person it makes sense to kill
@ OP you have to dodge lobbies until you get a James and then tunnel him, commit to lore

I know this thread was a necro but it's nice seeing older players on here :)
I'm 31 although don't always act like it.

If you did the math, CoH is pretty much in line with other healing perks and is in fact less time efficient in a lot of ways.
For example, "We'll Make It" works infinitely. It works for all your teammates. And it's 8 second Heals compared to 16 second Heals. And you can't break it.
But OP is having their games ruined by trying to tunnel survivors out of the game instantly and not succeeding. Where is your compassion?
They're high MMR too. Or they say they are, which is really the same thing.
-
Were you the autohaven wraith that chased the Ace for 10 minutes without switching targets allowing us to take protection hits, go heal up with COH, and then do it again?
Statistically probably not but he seemed to have a grievance with the perk.

I'm very glad bhvr spent time and effort on helping create this valuable contribution to the art world.

Billy, nurse, Myers, huntress, doctor, LF, pig, spirit (new addition), plague, oni, demo, PH, blight, nemesis, ceno.

High-MMR-Killers are usually not scared of Flashlights. In fact, if you are high MMR, you will have a blast against a Flashlight-Squad.
I equipped Lightborn just for fun when I saw multiple Flashlights, because it is funny to see how Survivors still try to blind me, despite failing multiple times before. However, apparently you get the information that Lightborn is in play, so I did not use it since then.
But your idea is quite interesting, cant wait for Forum Posts which complain about Survivors quick-switching to not having any Items... <_<
Someone posted about doing this before and people got really annoyed about it. I'd find it funny honestly even if I did waste a perk slot.

Agree completely with the last statement. End game chat could be eliminated entirely, and the game wouldn't suffer in the slightest. I'm thankful to be on console where it's not a thing, and if the devs ever waste their time implementing it there (time that could be better served doing ANYTHING else to improve game health), there better be an easy way to turn it off beforehand.
See when I was on ps4 the idea of postgame chat sounded horrific since I had to turn off my messages there and I assumed it would be that but worse, but although there is plenty of salt and stuff it's nice to be able to chat to the more sane teammates + opponents about the match afterwards. If the chat was always or even mostly horrible I would've just minimised it permanently long ago.
-
I get postgame salt more often from survivors, but when I get it from killers it's usually a lot nastier. So I guess that balances it out?

So you tell me, cheaters can abuse this addon? well #########
Yeah, the traps trigger at the same time they activate so if a gen gets completed every survivor wearing an RBT dies.

The Killswitch is for a specific thing, it's not to disable anything that's broken. The Video Tape doesn't need to be killswitched.
Regarding Clairvoyance, depending on what the bugs are that one may need to be killswitched, I'd tentatively agree on that one.
Without going into too much detail on how they work one involves getting unlimited use of the usual effect and one involves an additional effect of being able to move other players around with your own character (and shove them down holes or into traps and so on)
-
@SleepyWillo said:
I will say is that I agree Video Tape should be killswitched - but not just for the reason you outlined. But for the hacker exploit also.
I see nothing wrong with disabling an addon that doesnt work for killers and only works for hackers...
I know hackers would still be able to hack and make life miserable for everyone but no need to make it easier.
As for Clairvoyance? I hope they keep it as is. Finally a solution to bodyblocking!
Somehow I completely forgot about the cheat involving video tape even though it's happened to me

All of them, because a Killer shouldn't be balanced only when running add-ons
Every addon base? Even the ones that contradict each other and the meme addons? Scratched mirror Myers would be the only possible myers, nurse would have shorter range, reduced lunge, and 50% slower recharge speed and would lose her power after every blink attack.
Fun idea for an April fools event but otherwise I'd rather not.

I'm a big halloween fan and I adored 2018 but I hated kills. It's feels less Michael Myers and more Jason Voorhees dressed as Myers. There's also some strange attempts at social commentary which I'm not entirely opposed to but either go fully into it or don't do it at all., rather than a half-arsed thing. They could've definitely explored better how Haddonfield itself is a victim of Myers and collective trauma rather than a heavy handed swipe at mob mentality. Then there was Dr. Loomis in a flashback sequence and it's always nice to see him butI'm still unsure how I feel about bringing back dead actors with CGI. Voice actor did a pretty good job with him, considering Donald Pleasance has a pretty distinctive voice.
-
I'm a normal guy who works and sleep.
Well this is the problem. Unnecessary distractions such as working, sleeping, studying, and spending time with friends and family make it hard to live a truly dead by daylight-themed life.
Ideally you want to put 7 hours each into playing dbd, watching other people play dbd, and arguing online about dbd. This still leaves you with 3 hours for eating, sleeping, washing, various bodily functions, and if you manage to complete these side tasks efficiently you might even be able to get in another cheeky game or two of dbd.
-
I like blood echo on them too (them and plague) and currently rocking blood favour + undying. Extremely fun on hawkins, for me anyway

As usual, when a perk or add on comes out that seems strong, the other side freaks the F out. CoH IS really strong, but it comes with a few huge trade offs.
-Boons are easily destroyed by killers. Literally a 2 second animation if that.
-If the killer ignores it, you have to stop what you are doing and maybe even spend time running from the other side of the map to gain its benefit (it's radius was already nerfed)
-If the killer snuffs it out, you THEN have to spend precious time re applying the boon...possibly multiple times, equating to a massive chunk of time lost that could have been used on gens
-It isn't ideal obviously, but if a killer wanted, they would bring 4 hexes, leaving only 1 open totem to bless, and 4 hex totems that all take a really long time to over ride.
I am just saying, there are plenty of drawbacks to these boon totems. They are not all powerful.
Four hexes that include haunted grounds and thrill of the hunt will occupy every totem and make survivors take eons to convert them.
Not meta in the slightest but if someone really despises boons the option is there.
-
Hard to say when it's killswitched (and for some reason clairvoyance isn't)

Scratched Myers is not fun for the survivors on Lery's or Hawkins. Good on Mikaela for countering that somewhat.
The survivors I get when I'm running scratched enerally say the opposite. And yeah with a map offering, I'm not playing that on rotten fields.

At least on my servers (SA) late at night is the chillest time, only true chads playing. Playing during the day and evening is asking for sweat teams all the time.
That sounds nice...late night EU is survivors who will queue 20 minutes for a game and then try to get back to the lobby as quickly as possible
-
Bit of a dick move, yeah.
-
Only insomniacs and people who nolife this game play ridiculously late, theres not really anyone else to pair you with.
-
There's a couple of meta perks in it but quick and quiet, dance with me, lithe, iron will
-
Bhvr and or EAC should be liable for any hardware damage caused by their inability or refusal to deal with cheaters. That'd make them a bit more interested in dealing with the problem.
-
Yeah it's one of the obvious reasons why kills/escapes only is not a good idea. I tanked my survivor MMR to see for myself just by playing how I usually do but to a more extreme level, i.e. insanely alrustric. Going for saves against camping bubbas, or basement rescues with noed, taking protection hits for other survivors when I'm also injured, just doing my best to get the other 3 out the gate with no regard for my own well-being.
And yeah it worked, and then the results are kinda predictable. Frosty eyed wraith chases you for 10 minutes while one maybe two gens get done and then finally gets you and hits you on hook until death while your teammates crouch around the map. You can easily get yourself to this level of play in solo but I'm really not sure how you're supposed to get back out of it in solo 🤔
I didn't, I played with some people I swf with in a 4 man where we have over 10k hours combined, obviously going against much more skilled and experienced killers and escaping much more brings me back to a more manageable level when I solo again. Without that option...I think I'd be a bit stuck.
-
Also when Mikaela is the only one not readied up and is just reading passive aggressively reading her book in the lobby
And then shoving it up her arse ofc
-
Would have to play against her more. Have been playing as her and she sure doesn't feel like a D tier killer despite the forum's prophecies of doom*
Dust thing seems unnecessary now. Also they can give her back her old window vault animation now (a ghost climbing over things just looks stupid)
*No I can't care if she isn't viable anymore against oracle or whoever

Bodyblocking is fine. Especially when you get an insanely alrustric team where 3 of them will take a hit to stop you hooking the 4th. It's a pretty good deal imo.

To be fair, that's not a great build for going for Frenzy downs. Surge/Jolt doesn't go off on Frenzy downs. Enduring is unnecessary because you should be able to respect every pallet in the world since Frenzy lets you vault pallets and doubles the movespeed difference between you and Survivors. I don't know why you're running Undying without another Hex (anti boons?). You might have more luck with a build like Lethal/Corrupt, Thrilling, Pop, and Deadlock or Dying Light.
Oh yeah this is a terrible build lol. I realised I hadn't changed off my standard legion build when there were 20 seconds to go, enduring and surge are from that. Of the two perks I did quickly switch one of them actually is a hex, it's blood favour/undying. And I got Hawkins so decent value from those two at least.
-
Okay I tried it
I mean it works...it takes a very long time but it works. Although when survivors realise you don't want to hit them normally they just start mending on the spot and ofc you have a long recharge.
Was kinda funny, will not be doing it again.

I didn't test this fully, but when I was playing slinger yesterday, when I tried loading in with the fisherman body on, I would get an infinite loading screen. But when I changed my body to the green rarity, I was able to load in. I only played about 6 games (only 4 of which I loaded into) so I haven't tested it fully.
Could just be a coincidence, but I'd check if changing cosmetics/certain cosmetics effect it.
(edit: by loading in i mean loading into a match after all had rdy up)
I played about 6-7 games as slinger yesterday with no problems, only using that green rarity one from a couple of rifts back.
