Nurse bugfixes and reducing DH rejection effects sounds nice but what is there to actually test, really?
-
Nothing about any changes/reworks (not even full addon reworks) to any killers either. I'm not gonna reinstall/uninstall the entire game twice to test out distortion with 4 stacks...
-
There must be more changes in the PTB than what was mentioned in the dev diaries. Who would spend time installing and uninstalling that to test buckle-up and a couple of minor buffs/nerfs to some addons?

Hey friend! Maybe I can help clear things up:
Grades are not used by the matchmaking system. They used to be called "Ranks" and were used for matchmaking, but that is no longer the case. Grades serve as a monthly tracker for how much time you spend playing, based on the Emblem system (Emblems turn into pips, and pips turn into Grades). You can't lose a grade through de-pipping anymore, either! At the Grade Reset on the 13th of each month, everyone goes back down to Ash IV and starts the climb again, and they get a Bloodpoint reward for their previous Grade. Get your Grade higher, and you get a bigger reward!
MMR is an entirely separate value used for Matchmaking. It's hidden, meaning you don't get to see it. It has absolutely no connection to Grades: Your MMR doesn't directly influence your Grade, and your Grade doesn't directly influence your MMR. MMR doesn't reset each month, but it is constantly adjusting based on match results to try to find you balanced games. This is why it's called SBMM (Skill Based Match Making), it's trying to measure your skill and put you in matches with similarly skilled teammates / opponents.
We've been considering removing the Grade icons from the post-game screen due to this confusion. I was hoping we could leave them there to allow everyone to have a little way to show off / have some bragging rights, but I've seen lots of people confusing Grades with MMR (understandably so!). What do you think? Should we hide the Grade icons on the match summary?
Thanks for taking the time to ask your question! I hope this explanation has helped clear up some of your confusion so you can get back to enjoying the game. <3
You can change the names, the icons, stick a pop-up at the start of every single game explaining the system and people will still demand to know why they're going against iri players as a bronze. Removing them might be the way to go.
-
It's very legitimate, you get bloodpoints for it, emblem points for it, there's challenges and achievements based around it, there's perks made to help with it and to counter it.
-
Have they even acknowledged the increase in cheaters?
-
Spend that 50k BP wisely
-
First game after the new patch was, just as I wanted, going against the artist on the new map-
lol no of course it wasn't, it was a nurse on swamp
I'd checked out the steam profile of a teammate beforehand which featured a shopping list of killers they would DC against, always a promising sign.
But if I have to suffer so do you so I got him off the hook in time and he got to spend the next few minutes throwing pallets and vaulting windows near me while I participated in normal gameplay like a good boy.
If you really really want the option to leave a game you hate you're gonna have to stick most of them out. If I'm having the worst game ever I have the option because I do it so rarely it's never more than 5 minutes. I assume the Ace didn't go that route because he wanted be able to get in another game sometime in the next few hours, which is a shame for him.
-
Some combination of MMR, boons, DH accidentally getting buffed alongside getting fixed, hit validation in general, a hold W perk getting added, alongside all the old complaints, bugs, toxicity, SWF etc etc. Not saying I think all these things are necessarily bad but altogether killer does feel like a bit of a chore right now, for me at least. I want to try out artist and the new perks but at the same time...meh
-
fans go BRRRRRRR
-
Yeah, usually involves them surviving and their SWF teammates not.
I once had an angry meg who managed to get out the gate (I got a 3k) her complaint was she shouldn't be escaping against red rank killers ??
-
Not much. And I delete it unless it's funny. One obnoxious team started ranting on my profile calling me too sweaty for my own good and playing trickster because I wanted to bone him, that was allowed to stay.
-
No. Skill is part of getting to high MMR but an extremely ruthless playstyle and equipping yourself with every possible advantage before the match starts are the other core components.
People have said as much they like the occasional challenge but would prefer to have more of their games be 4k/4e against urban evasion squads or wraiths with 2 perks and 20 hours, as offered in the good old days.
-
Should be, it's boring af. Rifts aren't even hard to complete anymore and you get more BP actually playing, so play.
-
The game is a horrible map but blight can do well on it. The collision is pretty consistent too.

The game I most associate with anyone saying shameful display is Shogun II Total War.
"Our men are running from the battlefield! Shameful display!" Which, due to accent, would explain the above "Shamefur dispray".
i.e. a game about samurai fighting. Oni.
Aha thanks for explaining

Been playing Oni?
Wait what's happened to Oni?

It's not about that. It's about if someone wants or not to play against swf
the topic was originally about that
-
I appreciate getting to see the map more before it goes. I don't appreciate forgetting this was happening and playing a load of oni.

Welp we learn something new every day. You just saved me probably a LOT of headaches. xD
No problem, go get those adepts :)

As killers, we should be able to reject swf or accept it. Turn on, turn off. Same as crosplay. They should implement this feature.
I get flashlight saves in solo, a mic doesn't affect my timing or aim.
-
For saves:
-face a wall
-don't pick up immediately
-if no wall is around search the area briefly
-do a quick 180 turn before picking up
-run lightborn, or Franklin's, even overwhelming presence or fire up if you're a mad lad
For pallets:
-this usually benefits you anyway as the survivor isn't running away
-stand in front of the pallet and stare down for a while (not up, down) and see how much of their flashlight you can get them to waste
-same perks as before minus fire up

Are you saying that on Ash 4 getting merciless will be way easier than on Iridescent 1?
Yup. Grade reset is when I go for killer adepts now.
-
Thanks Karu, that's good to know.

I don't get the idea of "If a character is easy to play they should be bad." that's just god awful design.
No that's generally good design. Weaker killers should be easier to play and stronger killers more difficult. I don't think wraith's lunge nerf was necessary though.
-
Sluzzy making their way to the forums to call all killers OP except one
-
Licenced maps are generally terrible.
Hawkins - I liked it on both sides but it gives the killer either a massive advantage or they can barely use their power at all
Meat plant - wall to wall god pallets. Camp them or just instathrow them, it's unlikely you'll run out
Midwich - it's grown on me but still a horrible map with W key enthusiasts. Object nerf improved this map a lot. Shadow step has worsened it again.
Haddonfield - doesn't even need to be said
RCPD - one of these offerings has an even higher chance of cancelling the game than haddonfield since survivors also generally dislike it.
-
Wasn't it just the ultra rares?
-
Overpowered and broken with zero counterplay. But also weak and not viable at my MMR. (Can you tell I play both sides yet?)
-
Maybe. But I don't have a lot of faith in the forum that insisted counterforce was going to be meta so I'll wait and see.
-
I approve so far but I'm not getting my hopes up until like a few months after the chapter is released. There's plenty of weird nerfs/buffs that could happen yet. I'd need to see more of the hex and the exhaustion perk too, there's some potential for those being miserable to go against in some contexts.

No, she really isn't in a good spot. Survivors have control over her in chase except for maybe when she's using her strongest add-ons. I was hoping we were moving in a direction where killers would be getting stronger not weaker, but that's all a dream.
Yeah we should've buffed spirit instead, obviously
-
People still complaining about her? I don't really mind her anymore. Plus I don't feel bad playing her so I'm doing that more.
MDR is still dumb but I don't really care that much about it
-
Not especially fun to go against, being fairly weak while being great at camping has also always been a terrible combo, I also find the TR kind of irritating.
-
As a more serious answer no, the unfair thing is bhvr's disinterest in console optimisation or really any consideration for console users at all, and with full knowledge of how the game worked (for want of a better word) on PS4 and xbone, decided a really good idea would be to release it also on switch.
-
Considering gow my PS4 performance was at times they might want to cap it at 10fps to be on the safe side.
-
I was never that big on sloppy or thana but I'd be even less inclined to use them at the moment.
-
Glad you're better <3

Thrill is Dead the Devs buried it with all other killer perks they nerfed into the ground.
Thrill is good for boons if it's in a good spot.

Probably either Demo's chained skin or Entity skin. The 'geomutation' one is a bit messy, especially during this NNN lol
I have chains on body + arms/weapon and "geomutation" on head. My demo looks like he's just had a pretty good night

Why would anyone want that. :(
That's a good question...
-
Not necessarily the killer, survivor cheaters can also make every totem a hex totem.
-
Makes some fair points, should leave sarcasm to the professionals though

It's usually not hard to guess who is SWF already.
I never watch lobby so I don't really care.
You don't need to buff soloQ much, but I think there is need to that. You just can't do any changes to survivors, because it would destroy soloQ even more. You need to get gap between soloQ and SWF smaller, if you wanna do any changes.
-Passive Kindred (without killer part) would help a lot, so you don't have 0 or multiple survivors running for a hook and wasting time.
-Show whenever is someone in chase -> just make everyone obsession style and actual obsession will be highlighted in red instead white.
-chat wheel would be nice too imo
Those changes doesn't really buff survivors that much and it will not affect SWF, because those things are easy to share for them. Killers don't need buff overall. Only change I would do is buff base regression to 150% and nerf ruin to same amount.
Otherwise just buff bad perks and weak killers to make it more interesting in high MMR.
All of that would be good + the ability to mark things such as totems

What is a 'sweaty' game? Why even play if you aren't going to try? I don't get you people.
OP didn't say they don't try. Running the meta isn't the same as putting in effort.
-
But if I didn't run 4 slowdowns every game I might not be able to complain that I'm in high MMR and have to run 4 slowdowns every game 🤔
-
Yes, I wouldn't be inclined to play something I don't find fun unless someone either has a gun to my head or is paying me.
-
I don't usually get much hate for playing them. I don't camp or slug too much (obviously I do a little bit because that's what they're made for, intentionally or otherwise)
Apart from that I like hiding the one I'm not controlling somewhere I can catch survivors off guard and going for long-range Vic shots.
There will be ones that DC the instant they see you, but so be it.
-
It's a shame because they hyped it really well with way more effort than usual and then the big reveal is diet huntress.

I am not imaginative enough, but I do not have that Behavior magic within me, I have the utmost confidence the masters themselves can pull it off.
First you adjust the autoaim to make legion's knife even more magnetically drawn to anything that isn't a survivor. Then increase the fatigue to 15 seconds. Addons can provide bonus penalties for using your power such as healing health states, powering the exit gates or causing the game to crash.
