Is it killer only or can the challenge be done as survivor?
-
Might try this just for a laugh. I won't hold it against any survivor that decides to take advantage of the DC penalty being off.
For full nostalgia I'll moonwalk in chase even though it doesn't do anything.

i'm on PS5, and I can confirm that it happened to me in a match last night. Had an Adam with an active trap for easily 6 minutes+ before he died the old-fashioned way, lol. Survivors were running Boon Totem builds, so I wasn't sure if that was saving him or not at the time (which would have been a bug), but when I kept finding him working on gens with the trap active, I knew something was up.
FWIW, that one match I used it with Rules Set No. 2, I actually got pretty good value from it, TBH. I ran Lethal Pursuer to start a chase immediately, and while in chase, I ran across other survivors scurrying around frantically trying to get their traps off. I got a quick early down (which would have been a party hat for someone anyway, if I were playing without the add-on), and I had multiple downs with only one person getting a trap off in that time, IIRC. The person who did get the trap off popped a gen, and multiple people all of a sudden had active traps, and I felt like I had a ton of pressure on at that time in the match.
I'd like to play around with it some more, and I'd obviously like it if there were an ability to have at least a couple of more traps on hand by default, but against non-SWF groups who won't coordinate things, it might be useful (I'm pretty sure the match I had WAS against a 4-person team, and it still caused some early chaos). Against a full 4-person SWF, who might 99 gens or hold off entirely until the whole team clears their traps, that's likely where the add-on loses its potential power.
I also used it with rule set and pursuer, the best part (apart from the survivors not knowing about the bug ofc) was one of them decided to just do a gen for some reason which created some chaos.

I love how you never break the character here.
How is your road to 50k blink attacks going btw?
In the void she sprints

As long as you're having a good time? I prefer something that actually feels like playing a game rather than standing in front of hooks for minutes on end but you do you
-
Overwriting hexes with boons takes longer, the hex was going to be destroyed anyway.
But hexes -should- overwrite boons if needed with plaything and for consistency...sigh
...probably with noed as well.
-
No they aren't, I'm loading into a match with shadow step right now.
-
I had this happen just now. Playing Mikaela, just finished blessing a dull totem with both boons. Totem had previously been snuffed. Killer was doctor, map was temple of purgation. No issues yet using boons as Cheryl (just shadow step)
-
I'm still not that interested in it but I'm enjoying the added effect to AMN
-
Oh good, it's politics hour on the forums. 😒
-
God the drivel coming out of you today @fogdonkey . I like weird hills to die on too but simping for NFTs is a bit out there even for my tastes.
"Keep living in your bubble" isn't an argument, it's just a smug statement and not a particularly meaningful one. Its A couple of levels up from "no u" but really only a couple.
As for bleating about "mass hysteria" you aren't automatically in the right just by showing the least emotion. I could be shrieking like a banshee, dribbling with my eyes bulging out their sockets about how grass is green, while you calmly and rationally explain how it is, in fact, pink.
-
Yeah I could see why someone who needs to hack to escape might view pallet Freddy as pay to win.

my way of destressing is with some cute fox people who have the traits pacifist, fanatic xenophile, charismatic, rapid breeders and unruly, do the math ;)
Ahaha yeah I insist on making the cutest species the most evil and vice versa.

good.
I personally have been playing Stellaris a lot lately. Very fun grand strategy game, doubly fun with friends.
Yes stellaris, always nice to de-stress from dbd with a bit of fanatic purification.

You may purchase an NFT of my amazing artwork for the equivalent of three burnt down rainforests.
Ahahah outstanding <3
-
Absolutely outstanding PR bhvr, you've outdone yourselves this time. You should do another tweet expressing the company's support for clubbing seals. Or maybe add Jeffrey Epstein as the next survivor.

I'm actually really excited too. She'll be far from dead with this nerf. The audio will be the new red stain mindgame.
Is it based on her position or the way she's facing? Like would phasing backwards at someone do anything?

And lightning can strike from a clear sky but that also doesn't affect this discussion.
The OP compared slinger's nerf to stealing, it wasn't a good comparison.
-
They can change the characters in any way they like. They could make every killer have nurse's base speed if they were inclined to. Not that that would be a good change, but it's their prerogative.
-
Yes some killers will say you genrushed even if the match took 20 minutes, and also shouting at survivors for game design isn't really fair or productive.
But there are survivor (teams) who will try to smash out gens as fast as possible ignoring all else. And if a team decides to split up and smash gens while ignoring pretty much anything else it basically breaks the game, as in there's not really much that can be done except maybe mass slugging.
Fortunately most survivors also like doing other things, archive challenges, totems, item hunting, healing, working on gens with others for more points, going for saves, going to harass the killer, urban evading in the basement etc etc

I wonder whether people will try and make use of the Key's primary function now? It's not that strong, but I could see it fitting into some aura-reading builds or something.
I mean that purple addon that shows you the killer is very strong

new Pig ultra rare will be hella fun I bet. Just a shame it has very little synergy with Hex Plaything. Though maybe having all survivors start exhausted with Slow Release Toxin could be very powerful.
Could run facemask if you're using plaything

You make a good argument for the DC penalty remaining.

I believe that I am the worst Huntress EU. There was a rift challenge (I think it was hit 4 long range shots in one game - and I'm on controller without a crosshair on my TV) and survivors were literally sat working on gens ignoring me and I still couldn't hit them at range - I didn't bother going for short range hits. Needless to say I got quite a few zero kills in a row before a lovely AFK Bill helped me out. Now all my Huntress games are quite easy.
What I would really like to know is, can your weakest killer drag your highest killer's MMR down? I'd love to know what happens after the experiment and you switch to your main.
My first huntress attempts back on console were pretty special. My favourite moment was hitting a Feng about 40 metres away which sounds impressive but I was actually aiming for a different Feng right in front of me.

Survivor MMR is shared across all their survivors, there's not a different MMR rating for any of the individual survivors. For example with Mikaela coming out next week, she'll have the same MMR score as I have on my current two mains Kate & Nea, as all the survivors have the same MMR.
There is individual MMR for killers - they're starting off at around the same level initially, because if you're very strong with one killer you're not likely to be really really low MMR with another (and even if you are, your MMR will gradually drop as you lose), as you still will know the basics of chases etc so you're not completely new to the game.
Maybe there should be individual survivor MMR, somehow whenever I play as Bill my brain instantly turns to mashed potato (and based on study of other Bills, I don't think I'm alone in this)
-
Are you using your charges to keep the chainsaw going or just doing a single one? If it's the latter you're basically just playing old cannibal which is not ideal.

A lot of people wouldn't be able to tell the difference since it's Spirit
Just kidding, she's not that bad.
Ahaha yeah I mentioned in postgame chat clearly this was the buff spirit needed
-
And like, If I was cheating, don't you think I'd get more than a 2k?
I went against a very unsubtle hacking spirit on midwich who somehow had old prayer beads and also instadowns
She got a 2k :)
-
Oh nice, I met a pig today whose traps went off as soon as they were activated. Who knows what weird and wonderful hacks we'll come across next now that bhvr's gone from doing almost nothing about them to actually nothing.

Kinda sounds like facing 4 ds's, 4 dh's, 4 bt's and 4 iron wills? Yet that is perfectly allowed.
I don't particularly enjoy facing 4 meta survivors either and I don't think I've claimed otherwise?
-
Old ruin now that undying exists, now that tinkerer has been buffed, and it synergises with pop again? I'll pass. Imagine those four perks together on a nurse or something in soloQ
-
I was a plaid flannel addict, but I do better without it now. You end up staring at the indicator when you should really be looking at the survivor, it's a distraction. Blight's is even worse, his one takes up half the screen although it looks kinda cool.
-
Sluzzy I'm disappointed in you. You keep focusing on wraith but as a true survivor advocate you should know that -all- killers are overpowered! Except nurse, who should be 115 speed with 69 blinks at base.

Isn't it just undoing the last buff his speed boost got? He was still fine before that last buff, so I wouldn't think this would destroy him (he still doesn't need the nerf at all and they need to cancel the nerfs). Unless they're nerfing him even more than I'm thinking they are?
Also if you read the reasonings behind each change, you'll notice how the devs switch from "this wasn't performing where we wanted it to" to "Wraith was a wee bit OP" and that he had "obviously overpowered elements". It makes it sound like a dev lost to a Wraith, got angry, and went back to work with the intention of nerfing him just because they were mad.
Blight's in trouble then, @Lord_Tony got Almo in a match and let him bleed out

I was at house eating dorito when phone ring
"Spirit is kil"
"no"

I like undetectable/oblivious perks and it sounds more interesting than what it is now so 👍

If I had to guess I would say it probably consists of a regular sandwich with some sort of topping to make it a "junkyard" sandwich
so it could be something like chips
French fries
Some chili
just something to make it really stand out from a regular sandwich and make it a bit messier but its not as simple as just an extra slice of cheese or something boring
I don't see what any of that has to do with junkyards. If they put bits of old tyre in it maybe.
-
After careful analysis of the situation I've concluded that you, the nea, and the myers all have far too much time on your hands.
-
I'd imagine that one thing very low and very high MMR survivors have in common is seeing a lot of nurse 😂
-
Not related to your main point but since you mentioned the hags, see if you can count how many traps frosty lisa put around me in this beautiful match from the other day
There's also two not in view, one to my right, and one behind that wall
-
There's not going to be a killer uprising because spirit's getting nerfed. Even plenty of spirit mains are fully aware she had a ridiculous, cheesy power and needed a nerf.

Hex Plaything with Thrill of The Hunt on Doctor...
With the snipe add-ons :D
-
is it also abuse to set off a load of hag traps when she's carrying a survivor, or should survivors just stand in one place until she's finished? Run agitation if this is a big concern for you.
-
It is and it's unrelated to those grades on the left
-
I completely forgot about the facemask :D thank you for the reminder @SlothGirly
-
Urgh could you all stop the circlejerking for once I don't even agree with OP but "stoopid survivor main want to nerf pig lol" isn't much of a counterargument.

Might not be meta on all Pigs, but it's glorious on mine. It's pretty nice even against the sweat SWF squads - just enough slow to shore up the mid-game, which can flag behind on several maps.
Pig's still not the strongest, but Plaything makes her feel less powerless.
If you're a Pig that's tunnelling, though, you're boring and suboptimal in playstyle. No boops for you.
I just spent another 300k BP on her and nothing arrgh

.....you're trying to unlock it on her yet you don't think its meta. Suuuurrree.
Dude, you have limited time to find the box you need. WHILE injured. You have nothing indicating she is around. This doubles down on the original idea of the perk where you NEED to be careful but an active trap REMOVES that from being a possibility. Which is always something BHVR seems to try not to do yet in this case it slipped them. This is without question one of the best perks to run on her now. It makes her lackluster traps INSANELY strong. Pair with timer reducing add ons.....oh god.
Okay, maybe it will be. And yes, I thought about who the perk would be best on and decided she would probably be one of them for the reasons you mentioned.
It's still map dependent, it's still a hex perk that's easier to find than others, and some of her addons which make it harder to get the box off are getting nerfed or reworked. And most pig mains have pork scratchings where their brains should be going by how many focus on tunnelling trapped survivors. They won't know plaything works well on her unless someone tells them.
The biggest accidental pig buff in recent history is RPD, that map is pretty much an auto win on her, and kind of a guaranteed win with certain addons. That map is way more of a problem than that perk.
-
I've been desperately trying to unlock it on pig, no luck yet :( I promise not to use it for tunnelling.
Also plaything while great is not going to become meta on pig or anyone else unless a new killer has a power that synergises very well and obviously with it.
