maybe it's an individual thing. I've never gotten the hang of nurse and I kinda feel like her and billy are the two killers I could play endlessly but it just never falls into place (although I guess eventually I might get survivors where I could win without using blinks). Blight on the other hand I can usually bonk some survivor skulls in pretty well even with no slowdowns, on indoor maps or after long breaks from him.
-
What do you mean you get to a point where your MMR can't go down? It definitely can.

We should balance around people having sweaty matches in kyf? Why?

I've rarely gone against good pyramid heads. For the most part running towards a window or pallet then veering off to the side last second works, and keeps working.
As for the other aspect to his power, don't tread in the goo.
If all else fails, he's also weak to the good ol' W key.

Oh my god
How am I only just hearing of this? There was nothing on the news about it

After all the information we got from the developers about the SBMM lately, this question answers itself. What should be with him ? Since he dies first, ( no matter how ) he gets the most MMR adjustment. To the negative of course. (whether now more or less is put aside).
but both that and EGC deaths seem extremely open to abuse, especially now we've been told exactly how it works. I'm just kinda hoping the devs didn't just hand us a guide on how to lower your MMR and ruin other peoples games at the same time...

@Peanits said:
It would depend on the ratings of the Survivors you've killed.
- If you and the Survivors all have the exact same rating, your rating wouldn't change.
- If the Survivors that you killed have a higher rating than you, you gain more rating.
- If the Survivors that you killed have a lower rating than you, you gain less rating.
- If the Survivors that escaped you have a higher rating than you, you lose less rating.
- If the Survivors that escaped you have a lower rating than you, you lose more rating.
- Hatch escapes are a null (it's as if that Survivor was never in that match, you nether gain nor lose rating from them)
So when you kill 2/4 Survivors, your rating change is the sum of each 1v1 matchup. I'll use some made up numbers as an example here:
- Kill "better" Survivor: +20
- Kill "equal" Survivor: +10
- "Equal" Survivor escapes: -10
- "Better" Survivor escapes: -5
So in this case, 20 + 10 - 10 - 5 would leave you net positive with a +5 gain.
This is a simplified version, of course. The difference in ratings is also important (e.g. Killing a way better Survivor rewards way more, while Killing a slightly better Survivor rewards only slightly more.) It's not a single fixed bonus.
(Again, please don't read too much into those exact numbers, they're not at all accurate, this is just an insanely simplified version for the sake of explaining how it works.)
Hopefully that clears it up a little.
I assume DCs also void ratings but what about a survivor deliberately struggling and letting go on first hook?
-
The change means I'm less likely to run it on trickster but more likely to run it on plague
Imagine a survivor's infection meter hitting max just as the poor bastard reaches a pallet. Or hitting them with corrupt then charging after them to do it again without having to worry about being stunned out of your power.
-
They decided it wouldn't work, that's fine with me.
I could've done without them just going silent on it for an eternity before actually saying that.
Also "oh yeah there was some talk about something like that" no you announced the upcoming feature in an anniversary livestream lol

An remember how they said: "Don't use these to draw conclusions because you'll make yourself look like a fool. Nurse has a kill rate of ~43% ..."
Second highest Killrat is by the way...Freddy. Followed by...Bubba.
Killrate mean nothing because they do not factor in ranks. Pinhead dismantles uncoordinated teams and those are even more present at lower MMR. He gets weaker at higher MMR just as Nurse gets stronger.
yeah I'm aware pig is not a stronger killer than nurse or that those stats are particularly meaningful just thought the OP might find cenobite's placement interesting as they don't watch dev stuff

Killers trying to force survivors out the gates Vs survivors trying to die to EGC

I was not aware that people could interpret something into my text that is not there. I do not want to have changed anything here, but I've been here for over 4 years and finally have some serious fun with a killer again and I am just a little worried that they might change him (or the Perk Hoarder), because he technically could be a "wee bit over powered" or "overperforming". Like I said, I don't watch dev streams (or haven't in years) and I don't follow them in any way, so I asked you guys here if there was anything planned/said that I might have missed.
Thanks @MandyTalk for the answer.
You missed the Q&A where they showed off the recent kill rates then, guess which killer was top of the list :P
-
"New buffed killer perk" Sluzzy you've played since 2016 you know what thrill of the hunt is called. Why you put on this persona like a befuddled old man trying to install his first app is beyond me.
-
It looks like it. I supported it, and still do because my games are better, but yeah.
One of the reasons I might have more chill games than others is because I usually let one (or more) survivors go especially if they didn't do very well. And if it's through the gate...I might not have actually done them any favours :/
-
I love it, it's my new favourite perk. I'm a bit annoyed that boon totems (assuming they're somewhat popular and multiple survivors run them) have the potential to make it kind of obsolete less than a full chapter after its release. I don't really care if they stop noed activating though.

If survivors would stop begging for nerfs every single time something shakes up the meta. Maybe you wouldn't see pop and ruin all the time?
An hour ago i saw a thread complaining hoarder is op on cenobite. I said would you rather go back to ruin+undying+tinkerer?
You should see the disconnects I get for thrill of the hunt + plaything
-
Bad - 4x dead hard
Worse - 4x sprint burst
Worst but still pretty funny - 4 identically dressed survivors all with different exhaustion perks
-
Buff other gen perks and you'll probably see more variety.
Also back in the day it was ruin, ruin, ruin, ruin, ruin, ruin so I guess we've come some way?
-
I'd be irritated if it was, hoarder is a survivor perk on every other killer.
-
No, my experience with playing him has been straight up DCs, I thought the penalty was back off at first.
-
Being able to fly and throw hatchets as ghostface is also frowned upon, technically reportable even, but reporting relies on a bizarre system where you need to report in multiple places, fill in everyone's steam IDs even if the players aren't on steam and upload video evidence where the video usually fails to upload. So a survivor would have to be extremely annoyed you didn't play and also have several hours of time to spare.
Personally I'd play it but I wish they'd just rework this stupid map already. Or at the least remove map offerings.
-
Bhvr were also naive to think changing the appearance and names of ranks would get players to understand that they aren't used for matchmaking anymore.
I played a survivor game the other day, we all died. Another survivor was angry we were all silver and gold but the killer was iri 1. I tried to explain, he didn't get it.
Two game later I play killer, one particularly salty survivor says she hopes I enjoy being stuck in gold forever. I tried to explain, she didn't get it and called me a gold noob (half true, I am in fact an iri noob now)
So for the surprisingly high amount of people who ranks mattered to, grades also do because half the playerbase seems to still think they're used for matchmaking as well as a reflection of your elite dbd skills.

My no kill Trapper says otherwise. I will get brand new players if I don't go one a killing spree every now or then.
Remember, killer mmr is based on kills. If you get one or two kills your mmr isn't going down.
I started practicing huntress recently and it's kinda settled now where after running no slowdowns and sticking to a specific playstyle (pretty much M2 only, no camping or tunnelling, only slugging if they offer it up on a plate, mostly ignoring gens) the calibre of survivors stays pretty much the same + it's usually a 2k. It's nice, I wouldn't have thought she would ever be the killer I play to chill out but here we are.
-
M1 heal self (self care)
-
Almo went down after forgetting to mend once. He swore revenge. He got it.
Serious answer - idk really. I don't think the devs like legion very much since the fiasco after their release.

I'm not being funny you should never just give up, I play on console and times my controller dies before I can even begin a chase or when iv picked up a survivor. I dont give up, and well anyone who wants a 5gen chase every game should just stop playing lol.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2544108#Comment_2544108
You cant be mad at that, quitting because of a build seems a little silly personally. Like I get it, it's good and works well on him, but it's the only killer hoarder is useful (this perk already got nerfed) and just a decent team can still beat this, you just have to play smarter. I feel it's nice to see another killer be strong for high level especially a liscene. But giving up solves nothing
I get survivors dcing if I find the box early in the match
-
Relentless clicking of the M2 button while in chase could potentially lead to repetitive strain injury, the devs are just looking out for the health of slinger mains.
-
You can use blight's power on lerys. It's not easy, but I had to learn somehow because the game is obsessed with sending me to lerys when I play blight. Three times in a row once without offerings :) another time I played 10 games as him and 4/10 were lerys, one with an offering.
Slam duration addons are good for indoor maps but sadly you have no way of knowing if you're getting one. And some indoor maps he's great on (meat plant mostly with midwich in 2nd place)
-
One of the Devs said recently they aim for a 60% death rate, not 50%.
-
Currently also rocking franklin's and hoarder, but other two perks are TOTH and plaything which can be an annoying combo if TOTH isn't destroyed instantly.
Also trying to go for the box first which is apparently not an acceptable thing to do based on the last few matches I've had.

Haven't gotten on killer yet but I've had at least one teammate with a key every survivor match so far, this is gonna be a brutal few weeks (still better than before the instaheal/toolbox nerfs ig)

Anything with dead man's switch and class photo. The perk also works well on (current) prayer beads spirit

I realize that but it is still used as a derogatory insult in any manner...juat as easy to say "your internet is bad"or "your internet is trash" right?
I still don't really see any racial or class connotations in the phrase but I'll agree to disagree bc I'm getting kinda off topic.

Well, most of the time Legion gets nerfed, so we are very nervous whenever we see changes.
Well I mean it's only fair she essentially gets Dstriked every time she uses her power, feral frenzy being the most lethal killer power we've seen to date.

What other hills? Hills that I don't care nearly as much about? Why would I do that?
No other hills? Not even those with nemesis?
His zombie AI doesn't work. The two undead lovebirds spend more time caressing each other over some rock in the corner of the map instead of maybe trying to harass some survivors. This relates to gameplay, is the inside of his hands really a more definitive sign of a substandard product?
-
@TheDarkTyrant said:
Look at this man... It's so sad. This chapter was so rushed that he has damn clearly visible holes in his hands. Please devs, just remake and fix Nemesis. Make an entire chapter just as a REmake or something IDK anymore. Maybe that's your plan to give the feeling of the remake stuff but instead those games were both good and this first adaptation is absolutely awful. I just want my Nemesis in DBD. And you failed in every single way. Just make him actually feel like Nemesis and not a zombie general.
No one else has noticed this and likely doesn't care either.
There is a problem with bhvr rushing out unfinished/unfixed content, but this is really not one of their worst examples. There's better hills to die on.

I'm sorry <3 I have a soft spot for the stabby gang too. I'm sure they'll be buffed to S-tier someday but until then they can be S-tier in fashion choices.

No hate to the mods but I love how the natural reaction to legion getting a useless buff to an already useless purple addon is still skepticism lmao.

True. But then you wouldn't be tired of them and wouldn't be complaining about them. That's why the title is "TIRED OF GOING AGAINST SWF WITH ALL META PERKS?"
If you are not tired, than there is no problem.
Good point. I was sick of them on the old matchmaking, although I can see them again if I play at weird hours and I'm feeling nostalgic.
-
Oh I get swfs with meta perks on my worse killers, they just don't know how to use them well

I was just raising cultural awareness so we can be nicer to each other 😇
I think you're reading too much into the McDonald's wifi statement. No one actually plays multiplayer games on the wifi you get at fast food places or stores or busses (at least I hope), they're poor quality because they all have 50+ people using them at once as well as being wifi.
Also maybe it varies by country but in mine you get McDonalds everywhere. More in low-income areas but still plenty in more bourgie places.

Not to worry, I had mcote on the phone earlier. At first he demanded to know how I got his number, but as soon as I explained I was an entitled survivor main I had his full attention. "Côtey my boy", I said, "I just went against a basement hag in the year of our Entity 2021, now what's going on here? Where's that counterplay I know and love?
And he mumbled something about flashlights and Koreans, the man wasn't making sense frankly, but I got the discussion back on track. I told him straight - another patch with hag, and me and my swf are reducing our purchases of Nea hair recolours by 20%.
Long story short, teleporting gives hag a fatigue that would make the legion count their blessings. And I got him to throw in a cheeky demogorgon nerf while we're at it.
That's the last time you shred me at an L T you eyeless #########
-
Imo a fairly balanced trial is where both sides stood some sort of chance. Can be a 0k, a 4k or anything inbetween.
My first match during one of the earlier MMR tests was as demo against a pretty decent 4-man swf (I did check). And they stomped me good, I got a fair amount of hooks but a 0k in the end. But thinking it back afterwards, at one point I had 2 slugged with 2 injured and I decided to just hook them instead of going on a quick hunt for the others to potentially end the match there, but if I had taken the other option I'm pretty sure I would've won. So despite getting stomped I'd consider that a balanced trial, if I had lost because I couldn't catch any of them I'd feel differently.
-
They should be strong but being able to relight and move without any restrictions or much counter from the killer side apart from repeatedly stomping them (i.e. let the killer smash bones too) is a bit much. Other than that it's mostly a numbers issue, like being able to heal each other at a speed where you can't down a survivor without STBFL is also a lot even if that's a niche situation.
