I've been using Wiretap a lot as a survivor, and I do agree that it would be broken if it worked with Open-Handed. Even as it is now, wiretap often provides a lot of value, especially on Midwich, RPD, and The Game.

Well actually yes. Atleast when it comes to hugtech they said it is an unwanted exploit and they are looking into it. I think it just needs a lot of time to fix without breaking everything else when it comes to his collision
Thanks for letting me know!

I've done 2 posts where I ask BHVR to let us choose whether we want survivor dailies, killer dailies or mixed. NO-ONE EVER posted in those threads, people seem to not care. I too have been getting almost entirely killer dailies, when I've been just playing survivor for the past month. Gotta love not getting extra BP from dailies. Thanks a lot BHVR.
-
Again, I've had matches where people were camped in the basement, and I couldn't help them at all. Being able to reassure them from above the basement would have been really nice.
BHVR, if you really want to help survivors against camping, please:
1) Extend the range of reassurance by 1-2 meters, just so it does go through floors (basement especially)
2) remove the white aura of the reassured survivor for killer, it's really not helpful for the survivors
3) Disable killers' special powers when within a certain range of the hooked survivor (like artist is), especially Bubba.
-
I agree. I made a post in the past about this same issue. Why are survivors punished for failing skill checks that are impossible to hit because of unfortunate timing...? It is really unfair.

Nurse is fine if you are good
I've seen amazing, cracked survivor main streamers get demolished by good Nurses, so what you're saying is definitely not true. I'm not basing what I wrote just off of my experiences. Strong survivor mains struggle against her as well.

@SuzuKR said:
Blight and Nurse are not comparable in regards to basic/special attacks. Blight M2 is a special attack because he attacks with his power. Nurse power is exclusively movement. Consistency-wise, it would be like asking why Spirit or Wraith's post-power attacks aren't M2.
Furthermore, Blight is 115%, meaning he can get hits without using his power at all. Nurse is 96.25%. It is literally impossible for her to get a hit without using her power unless survivors misplay insanely hard. Blight also doesn't have to charge to use Rushes and has 5 chances to reposition. He is also designed to be able to flick around to a huge degree, and the base momentum from his power swing gives it an extremely long range. Nurse comes to a dead stop before swinging at standstill attack/lunge range.
Many times I got hit by a Nurse just walking after me. I always wonder how on Earth she manages to catch up to me just by walking. It might have been bloodlust, I dunno. But yes, it's happened so many times to me. She just walks and is faster than me. So you saying that it's impossible for her to get a hit without blinking is definitely not true. Maybe it's a bug, maybe it's bloodlust, but she's done it to me so many times.

Today I had a killer camp a teammate on the top floor of Eyrie of Crows. I managed to get inside the building, but couldn't use Reassurance, because the top floor was just out of reach, and I couldn't climb up, 'cause the killer was blocking the stairs, and I was on death hook. It would mean a lot if you would extend the range of Reassurance, BHVR. Just enough that it reaches any floor above and below us. Please consider it. I genuinely love the perk and it's been helpful against camping. It just needs another 1 or 2 meters of range. <3

I suggest this change because Blast Mine basically has no counter play (asides from Lightborn). The reason it has no counter play is that killers do not know which gen is Blast Mined, so there is no way for the killer to avoid it unless they choose to never kick any gens, which is poor counter play design since it completely removes a core mechanic from the game. Even if a killer knew a gen was Blast Mined, some times the killer is forced to kick it. For example, if a gen is at 90%, the killer cannot wait 60 seconds for the Blast Mine to expire since it will most likely be completed before then. Therefore, the killer must kick it regardless.
Blast Mine is just obnoxious to go against because it stuns the killer for 4.9 seconds (wasted kick time + stun time) and there is no counter play to it. My suggestion is to change it from a stun to a blind. This adds counter play to Blast Mine since it allows the killer to prepare for Blast Mine by memorizing where to go beforehand so they can still move. On the other hand, if the killer doesn't prepare for it, they will still be greatly immobilized by the blind and basically won't get anywhere. I think this change makes it fair for both sides and fixes the issue of Blast Mine being completely obnoxious.
I wholeheartedly disagree. I never suffer that much from it when playing as killer. It IS annoying, but it's not busted or anything. From the survivor standpoint, removing the stun would send this perk to the dumpster, it would be next to worthless. Blindness doesn't last that long. This perk just recently suffered from a nerf (a totally uncalled one imo, since the perk was never really strong to begin with), and should not get nerfed further, it would destroy it. Not to mention that Eruption, Jolt and Pain Res (which are super common right now) cause the gens to regress without kicking them.... So good luck getting your Blast Mine value :/
Also, doing gens is BORING. Having Blast Mine, Wiretap, Flashbang and/or Hyperfocus engages the survivor in a fun way while doing gens, because there is an interesting payoff. Hyperfocus actively engages the survivor, it's a bit thrilling. It's awesome that we have these perks, 'cause they make doing gens at least somewhat appealing. Solo queue teammates actually wanting to do gens... can you believe that? We should rejoice. :')

I hope BHVR finally listens to us. They would earn more money and have the fans satisfied, but they're are SO stubborn.

I love map offerings. If I naturally get MacMillan 3 times in a row, I want to use an offering to another map, so I don't die of boredom. Sometimes I just crave a certain map and being able to go there feels so good. It gives me fun. Sometimes I use a map offering for a challenge. Of course, certan people use map offerings just to get an advantage over the other side, but that's the problem of maps being unbalanced.
Removing map offerings would kill some fun in this game, in my opinion. Map should be balanced, so map offerings are not a problem. Mist offerings should be buffed, so they actually significantly add fog onto maps, to make it more fun. I agree that luck should be reworked / buffed.
-
I love these! Especially the cosmetic combining in the store, that would be very useful and actually encourage people to buy more, imo. :)

I wanted to say it for a long time, and I think this post is a right place.
Ada model is terrible.
She is look like she is 5" tall. And a face of a 10 yo girl. We know she is slim and gorgeous:
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/R6M1VX6HQCU1/image.png
But here she looks really short and with childish face. Like she is going soon to her first prom in couple of years.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/PPC2GAOGU8J0/image.png
Hooking children is not nice, even if they will be infamous spy in 10 years.
Zarina's body would fit perfectly (face still need to be brought to original)
Jill is looking much older. She was picked by Entity in late 90s, but it looks like yesterday. I don't know how to express it, but she looks worse than my mom when she was 45. Especially "Impervious Agent" outfit. She is a little bulky, unfit and a little stooping. Funny thing, the art version in info box and wiki looks awesome.
Claire.... Can't say anything, just fix it for heaven's sake. She looks like experienced meth-user.
All other characters look super great. Sheva, Rebecca, Chris, Leon, Carlos, Wesker, all awesome.
I know it is nitpicking, but hey, it's the characters with a large fan base, so it would be nice to bring their looks to proper level.
Chris looks super great? Sorry, but are you blind? His face is awful. They need to fix that for heaven's sake. His face is so squished inwards, it reminds me of a cow's face. A big shame, since Chris is one of the most handsome guys in the history of video games.

Yea definitely agree, it also kinda confirms they we're going for the RE5 Bonus outfit when making this model. I actually use the mod in RE1 Remake that replaces Chris's Lost in Nightmares BSAA Bonus Outfit with his RE5 STARS look since his RE5 Face is my favourite in the series. But can i also point it was funny reading the notification on the tag lol
"Alen_Starkly mentioned you in Chris Redfield's face"
That got me to laugh a bit ngl XD
lol that is funny indeed
-
BHVR could easily make more legendaries for characters who already have legendaries. Easy money, fans happy and pleased. Chris in his BSAA outfit would be a jackpot.
-
@Thusly_Boned @Spykitty358 Someone posted a better comparison of Chris' face here: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3160455#Comment_3160455
I find the face on the left really hard to look at, they really massacred the face. As an artist, I really notice the offness heavily. It takes a few elements to be off for a face to look very off. It also takes a few elements to fix to make it look right. I know when I draw, a lot of times a face I'm drawing looks off... eventually I manage to adjust certain elements and then it looks completely right. Chris' face is off right now, and it's fixable.

if a killer is tunneling you just tell you r mates to push gens and if you keep him tunneling you for 2-3min all gens are done. If a killer really is only going for you and you can loop him just for a bit its allways a 3man escape so tunneling is not op you just need counter play it.
99% of time I play in solo queue. I can't really communicate anything to my teammates. Not to mention that Deadlock and Pain res + DMS combo makes the gen slow.
-
@xni6_ said:
and then a survivor aggressively uses ds. in these 30 seconds where the killer is unable to move, 33% of 4 different gens can be done. now that is balance.
what they could do, is make it better to not tunnel than to tunnel
WIth aggressive use of DS, the killer sees what's happening and knows that the survivor is baiting a DS. Just slug the survivor that does that.

Yea coming on this post i do see a difference, as I've said back on my post RE5 Chris is my favorite look out of them all so if they can recreate that exact face pattern in DBD I'd be happy.
They've done an amazing job with Claire, considering how off her face looked. They can surely do it with Chris too! They just need to do it. I don't know why they would keep one of the most handsome guys in the history of video gaming looking off like this. It just ruins the sales and displeases Chris's fans.
-
If you put the DBD chris face and the RE 5 chris face side by side, you'll see how off it looks. Like it was squished from sides inwards. Reminds me a bit of a cow's face. Maybe you've never paid much attention to his face, but I definitely notice the difference and how off it looks. The eyes are a bit too close.
-
I really think that they should have added a 2nd legendary skin for Chris with this patch - him wearing this RE 5 outfit. That, plus they should have fixed his face along with Jill's and Claire's. I really don't get why they are so stubborn about this. His face is off, give him some love please! And also, why couldn't a character have 2 or more legendary cosmetics? Just give Chris another one, people will buy it!
-
Today I had a Wesker who kept downing me while I was fully infected, and letting me wiggle off. All of my teammates left me, and I couldn't reach the door because I was hindered due to infection, and he just kept doing this until the timer ran out.
-
I would LOVE to see a pink haired Adam. A blonde Ace. A brunette Felix, a blue haired David, etc. I love trickster's fashion and would love the male survivors to get some of that treatment too! Come on BHVR, give us some fun. Female survivors are not all that exists. I love them, but I prefer male survivors and want to enjoy their fashion to the fullest. Give us some crazy, awesome looks please ;)
-
I like your suggestions. Sadly, I think BHVR is still siding with those people who say "you're just bad, gid gud", "nurse is fine, you just suck at juking her"
-
Yeah, I agree. Like, just because Chris is a legendary character does not mean that he cannot get another legendary skin - like, why not? BHVR / CAMPCOM makes money, us Chris fans buy them and are really happy with them. I personally like Felix's cosplay of Chris, but I really do miss Chris with that outfit and want it so badly in the game. Chris is the most deserving of it imo. Sure, keep Felix cosplaying if you want, but please make another legendary outfit for Chris. No law in the world prevents you from doing that.... does it? 😓
You could also give Chris bloody cosmetics if you've unlocked Leon's bloody cosmetics. It would just add to the game, make us players more satisfied, and in the end you'd profit from it. (even if the bloody cosmetics would be free, you'd still get more players to buy Chris since he'd have more cosmetic options to choose from)
-
DC-ing / letting go on hook is a salvation against a really unfun, pointless match against a god-tier Nurse, god-tier Blight, or a camping Bubba. Liberation from pain and suffering. Until and unless these things are addressed and changed.... I'd actually ask BHVR to remove DC penalties.
-
@jayoshi said:
Yeah, this game and only this game has a problem with my computer. Every time I play - my game freezes at least once or twice while playing. When it freezes it times my game session out and I get a connection time out. It treats this as a DC penalty. It's out of my control and I have had 20+ back and forth messages with BHVR support about this. Tried everything they suggested I do. Nothing worked. They gave up on me and ghosted me. I know there are others that have this same problem. My computer is barely 2 years old and it's beefed up. One of their updates broke their game for me.
Because DC penalty (even if your game froze) stays stacked for 24 hours. I've had it where my ban was an hour. It's an awful feeling not being able to play a game you paid for because it likes to freeze on your computer and it's out of your control. I'm not going to buy a brand new computer to replace the one I bought in 2020 for one game. Especially since my current one cost over a $1,000. It would be extremely unfair to people like me if we had to wait 24 hours to a week. So I'm sorry, I strongly disagree with you. You'll just have to deal with DC. Even if they did do it for a week or so, they will just give up on hook and kill themselves. And if you try to save them they just go around slamming every pallet and messing up every gen. I've seen that happen. Best to just move on to the next game.
Have you tried playing DBD via "NVIDIA GeForce NOW"? It works kind of like Google Stadia. You launch the program and connect with your Steam/Epic account, and then launch the game within the program. You don't even have to have the game installed on your PC. It works by actively streaming the game to you ("downloading" it). Of course, you need a good, stable internet connection for this.
-
Counterforce should ignore boons too, because if the furthest totem away from me is a boon totem, I get no useful aura reading...
-
I prefer RE 5 Chris face to RE 1 one, so I'm glad they went with that, but..... they messed up the face. And 15 months later, they still haven't fixed it. Honestly, I think it should have been fixed with this patch, along with Jill's and Claire's. There is really no reason to keep Chris looking like this, turning off potential players.
Come on BHVR, male survivors are important too! GIve'em some love, please. You fixed Cybil, Lisa, Claire and Jill. Give some love to a male character for once.
-
He would look so awesome! If only BHVR cared 😫
-
BHVR please revert this change to Blast Mine. It was nowhere near being a META perk. It wasn't even that strong to begin with. You made it completely useless with this change.

Yes, I would love bloody cosmetics for legendary characters as well! I would also love if legendary characters (like Chris Redfield) would get more cosmetics. Chris has so many good ones throughout the Resi games, and people would buy them like crazy, I'm very sure of it.

I don't think it needs such buff. It's just unlucky situation that happend to you that someone even used this perk. Also lets nerf Nurse calling, shall we?
In this age of booning, people heal massively, so A Nurse's Calling is a very good perk, better than a year ago.

Yesterday I had a few matches where me and my teammates all brought flans / party streamers, and the killer camped me and/or tunneled me or one of my teammates out of the game at 3-5 gens left. I used Off the Record but it didn't do anything really. Even when I bring DS, with the 3 second stun it doesn't really help. It is an incredibly frustrating experience, which really makes me not want to play the game anymore.
The killer gets a lot of points anyway, and with 1 person gone that early, the game is an easy breeze for them. The whole thing is very annoying and frustrating for the entire team, especially the survivor that got tunneled out of the game early (sometimes even coupled with a Mori, which disabled counterplay, like flashlight saves, and DS). Killers can do that with no consequences for them. It tilts the matches heavily in killer's side. Nothing I can do against that.
P.S. I originally posted this under "discussions", not "suggestions", 'cause I know that BHVR doesn't give a rat's ass about us complaining about camping and tunneling. The last Midchapter made it easier for killers to do that, which tells a lot. I just wanted to discuss this. A mod moved the topic to "suggestions".
-
Sadly, I feel like with the gen time increasing to 90 seconds, in solo queue Prove Thyself has become a necessity. Otherwise good luck getting all 5 gens done.
-
I agree that the DS stun should be 5 seconds. Some people argue that 5 seconds of a stun isn't enough for M1 killers like Trapper to catch up to the survivor who stunned them... well WHY did you get stunned in the first place, M1 killer Trapper? Were you tunneling perhaps??

Thanks!

I'm genuinely baffled at how you guys can't see the offness in his face 😅
I guess I'll have to wait and see if they do anything about it.... It would also be cool if they gave Chris more outfits, he has some really good ones. :)
-
His profile doesn't look that bad. It's the front of his face that I feel is off. I've talked with a streamer today about this, and they feel like the front of this face looks as if it was squished from the sides (from the left and right towards the center). A little bit of work on the face would do wonders 🥺Please let us have a pretty Chris ❤️ Us fans would really appreciate it.
-
In my opinion, he looks off just like Claire. I'm surprised that people have been asking for her face changes, but not his. Everytime I see him, he feels off. His face looks very different from his RE 5 model's.
-
I see camping as the issue, even without the new STBFL. Bubba being one of the biggest perpetrators. I'm hoping that the devs are working on something to help alleviate that.
-
I love all of the killer's clothes, as well as Dwight's and Claudette's, they're so adorable. It would be awesome to have them in DBD :)
-
I have hard time going against good Nurses, so I do wish for some nerfs to happen. Although I love her power, it's so unique and fun. She maybe needs a complete rework... but I am hoping that she keeps her power, and get some nerfs/restrictions so that the survivors being chased have more counterplay.
-
I was surprised that Hooked on You rewards you with a Jake outfit, even though Jake doesn't seem to appear in the game. I do love the outfit though, it's definitely worth getting the game just for it imo.
With that said, I do really hope that in DBD we get at least some skins from Hooked on You. Claudette and Dwight's are adorable. Spirit's is also gorgeous, as well as Wraith's. Others are cool, too. I'm pretty sure the fans would be happy :)

I like how you say we can't know what was said while at the same time assuming they didn't show any regret in the apology that was sent.
Because you can infer they don't regret it based upon what they have explicit said. What they did not explicitly say (and still haven't) is what they said, word for word, without anything missing. Therefore, I can conclude no regret was felt for the action based upon what has been said, but cannot conclude what was said based upon what hasn't.
Also, "I honestly saw no issue with it at the time of writing it, and I didn't harbour any malicious intentions. I don't regret it, 'cause the intention behind the question was not to hurt or insult anyone" does help me prove my point quite a bit.
I guess I didn't write things out clearly, my bad. I don't regret the question in a semi-joking tone. It didn't have ill intentions. I do feel bad that it seems to have hurt someone, and possibly negatively influenced the community. My intention was not to hurt.
Anyway, I see that you guys agree with the mod's decision, so I guess I deserved what I got. I'm apparently a terrible person who did irrepairable damage to the community by posting that question. And I'm for sure getting banned in here as well, so I hope you guys are happy. Hopefully this helps you not to get banned yourself.
This is my last post in this thread, and probably on the forums too, if I get terminated. Feel free to celebrate.

In which case, sick, I take it back. The phrase "negative remark" however is hardly what we in the industry call descriptive, and leaves the door wide open for interpretation. From knowing OP made a "negative remark", we can infer nothing specific- they could've gone from "Chris looks like a horse" to some horrific slur. And since OP hasn't clarified on their matter (I checked, couldn't see anything in the comments or an edit to the original post as of yet), we simply cannot know.
But even if they said nothing, my point still stands. They show regret for the consequences but not for the action itself.
I just posted what I wrote in the chat. I am sorry to the mods if what I wrote seemed like it would negatively influence the chat, but I want my freedom of speech, you know. You know how when people really love something, they'll say "this is f-ing awesome!" ? Imagine getting banned for using the f word in this positive scenario. Surely what I wrote wasn't an excalamation of positivity, it was a genuine question, laced with my dissatisfaction with the issue, albeit written in a semi-light,joking tone. I honestly saw no issue with it at the time of writing it, and I didn't harbour any malicious intentions. I don't regret it, 'cause the intention behind the question was not to hurt or insult anyone. If we are in a regime here that shoots you down for freedom of speech, then fml I guess. Have to keep your mouth zipped or the ban hammer crushes you.
-
What I wrote in the twitch chat was, "Are you fixing Chris' (censored) face"? I've been wanting BHVR to give him a proper face like he has in the remastered model of his RE 5 model. So I was actually expressing how much i want him to look good. The insult (which I censored in here) was a negative adjective that expressed my dissatisfaction with this current model's face. I realize it was completely unnecessary for me to add that adjective. But my intention was not to come to the chat and insult anyone.
Some people were asking about Stranger Things, some were asking about other stuff. I was asking about rework on Chris' face. I want him to look good. My intention was not to spew insults, it was to express my interest in them potentially redoing the face to look good. It was a question about something I cared about. I wanted to know if they're redoing Chris's face, that's all. I got carried away though. I wrote that question with a light, semi-jokingly tone. I wasn't angry or frustrated at the time. The adjective was unfortunate. RIP freedom of speech.
