It's literally called a "skill check" althou no real skill in it that's the only thing that can make survivors suffer a "mistake" giving the killer a edge. Increase the size is like saying reduce the map size for killers like nurse because she is too hard. Either don't use the perk, try to time it better or just get better hardware. Not a attack on anyone just saying that would literally be a buff to a strong perk an even with "counter play" like slug, unbreakable is a thing along side the unbreka-boon. An ds is a issue since alot of people, from casuals, comp an even some fav streamers hate how it's used. I hate it but no one can deny it's use for anti tunnel althou people try to abuse it outside that such as end game collapse ds being a free escape

What do you mean, this would be a buff? And threaten killer? Are you kidding me? It would make no difference for the majority of people. Making the skill check bigger would mean that people who are having issues with it would **get value from this perk** instead of have it wasted. It would not give any advantage to survivors, it would actually make the perk USABLE for people who can't hit it because of how their brains work, or 'cause of a bit laggy hardware. I don't have a ton of money just lying around to be able to get better PC right now. People whos brains aren't as "fluid" as others' can't just fix that.

Making the skill check bigger would give NO ADVANTAGE to anyone. It's not a freakin' buff. It would make it NOT USELESS anymore. Killers can still slug it out, and even with the DS success, they can go after a survivor and tunnel anyway. But having DS be only usable by people with top notch brains and top notch hardware is very discriminating.

Read what I wrote in my initial post. People who abuse it never fail it 'cause they have great PCs and brains. People like me who use it as protection are disabled by using it due to the skill check being too small.

How the f would this be a buff that would give anyone an advantage? You can't be serious, man. This would only make the perk NOT WORTHLESS for people like me. Why have a perk in the game that cannot be used by a group of people? I'd rather no-one can use it then, than only have certain people be able to use it. It's unfair, it's frustrating.

Early days DS was you stabbing the killer without ever being hooked. That was OP, a small skill check then made sense. Now it does absolutely not. The perk should be usable. By everyone. If you don't like it, ask BHVR to nerf it or remove it. Do you also think COLOR BLIND MODE is an unfair buff to players? Do you also think LOW graphical settings is an unfair buff? Seriously, man...

  • The profanity filter is a nuisance. The word "you" is filtered out. Some survivors' names (e.g. Yun-Jin) are filtered out.... ????

Also, in the new David King's lore, there's a ton of profanity. And yet the chat is being filtered.... Hello....??

I think that the censoring of the chat should be eliminated, it doesn't really do much good, it only blocks communication, and frustrated people.

If that's your concern they have confirmed 100% it will not be on the 7th.

Have they? All I know is "summer", but it already feels like summer, so... And there's no guarantee that the prestige change would be available on a PTB. Hopefully it will, but how can we know for sure... I'm just trying to make sure that my years-worth of grinding doesn't go to waste. Both the P3 grinding, and the grinding I did to get those 30+ anniversary cakes that are still remaining.

  • I appreciate all of your responses, but I really hope that a *dev* gives an official statement on this. Logically, I wouldn't expect the prestige change to come out on the 7th, but you can never know for sure. If it does come out on the 7th, and BHVR was negligent on communicating that to us (it's possible), then I will miss out on the rewards for just a few characters that I could have P3-ed (I just need to hold the button) within 1 minute. And if the change comes out on the 16th, then unless I grind maniacally for a week, I won't get Haddie and the Dredge to P3.

A few months before the removal of Hawkins offerings, BHVR mentioned in a patch note that they would be removing them with the mid-chapter update or something, but not everyone read the patch notes carefully, nor did everyone remember about the removal. BHVR could have given us a heads up a few days prior to the Hawkins offering removal in-game and/or on Twitter, but they didn't. If I knew the offerings would have been removed, I would have used them all, 'cause I adore that map and it's a big shame I didn't get to enjoy it more before it was gone.

That's why I am concerned that BHVR will push this change without giving us a heads-up, and many of us are gonna be frustrated. The grind for P3 has been going on for a few years, and it's been a passion of mine, albeit exhausting at times.

Please BHVR, be transparent about this. <3

  • Not long ago, I proposed to BHVR that we can select whether we want to receive only killer, only survivor dailies, or both. Some people only/mostly play one side, so getting dailies for the other side is useless for them. I hope they do something like that.

  • What you're proposing does sound really interesting, but I have to agree that changing the gameplay that much would turn DBD into a whole different game (hopefully someone makes a game like that!). The strategies involved with gen repair, gen regression / protection, 3-gen avoidance or 3-gen plans (killer), combined with looping, mindgames, totem plays etc. make up the DBD gameplay. It can get boring at times, but it's also something that's straightforward and that people are used to. And many people love getting better at chases (me included!).

BHVR has mentioned that they've played around with different objectives for DBD, but that none of them really fit well (can't remember the exact words). Having a game with different objectives, especially depending on which killer you're facing sounds cool, and maybe BHVR (or someone else) makes a game like that in the following years :)

  • Whatever the rewards may be, I've been grinding a LOT for the past 2 years, just in case the grind gets simplified and we get some rewards for it. No matter what the rewards end up being, I want to have all of my characters at P3 (I have every survivor at P3 and every killer except for 4 P2 killers. One of them being a killer with 30+ anniversary cakes, so if the prestige update comes out on the 7th of June, I'll have to P3 them urgently and lose many cakes) before the prestige rework.

  • I love the fact that we can use map offerings. Sometimes I use a map offering to help me with a rift challenge (hide withing 10 meters of the killer for 60 seconds - The Game or Lery's), but mostly I use a map offering when I crave a certain map. Doesn't matter if it's objectively disadvantageous for me, I just feel in the moment that I want to play on that specific map.

RPD when I play killer, Lery's or the Game when I play Huntress or Blight (I love those maps with these killers for some reason lol).

Of course, many people use map offerings 'cause they have advantage on them (Blight, Oni or Billy using Autohaven or Macmillan, Nurse or Spirit using Dead Dawg, survivors using Coldwind, Ormond, etc.). I think that devs should aim to balance out the maps instead. Map offerings are cool, when used without an ulterior motive of having a huge advantage over the opponent(s). They add fun to the game.

  • I did the survey for 2 matches, then forgot to do it for the 3rd one.... Can I start over and do a new 7 consecutive matches surveys, or is it over for me? xD

  • I need to know.... otherwise I'm entering wrong data and I won't get anything as a reward

  • Mandy, thank you very much for letting me know about this. I've somehow missed previous explanations from BHVR on this, not sure how, so I appreciate your response.

I don't understand why getting something inside a game should require approval from a country in the first place though. Of course, this has nothing to do with you, but the country laws, I understand. I'm just wondering why, it makes no sense. The world laws should get simplified, it's ridiculous.

    Thanks again though!

  • @WeenieDog said:

Take it up with your local laws

Did you read what I wrote? Many countries are excluded (they are usually included in other companies' contests). It doesn't seem likely that all of those countries have problems. Especially since they are usually all included in other companies' giveaways. It's very obvious that the problem is in either BHVR or Canada. Square Enix for example doesn't have these issues. BHVR does.

  • I'd buy them as well, since I didn't know about DBD's existence when the 1st 2 rifts were taking place. I got the game like 3-4 weeks before the end of the rift 3, and I grinded so hard (the grind was harder than now back then!), and got from tier 1 to 70 in those few weeks. I was that dedicated. I would have done the same for the 1st 2 rifts if I knew about the game and had it back then.

  • Still waiting for the devs to say something on this. It's very important for planning :)

  • It sounds like an old printer printing a document. It's awful.

  • The Ghost Face's new chase theme makes my ears bleed, it's atrociously bad. Not gonna play him until you change it.

  • In my opinion, Victor should get cosmetics too, it would make Twins cosmetics actually fun :)

  • Shelter Woods is currently an awful map for survivors. Can't use Balanced landing (except on basement stairs), too many dead zones. I agree, it needs to be redesigned, it can't be so empty and killer-sided. Same thing about the maps that are survivor sided, they need changes too.

  • @Valik said:

    It already does.

All generators are counted as complete when the hatch is closed or when the gates are powered - because all generators are completed.

The problem is not the exposure or the mori, it's the utility.

If you ask me, this perk should take Bitter Murmur's place and should reveal auras on gen completion in addition to when all generators are completed. Getting a an aura read upon closing the gen would make this a massive pick.

You might wanna test it out for yourself, 'cause unless all gens are done, closing the hatch does not trigger Rancor. It only triggers when all 5 gens are done. Try it out and you'll see.

  • I absolutely agree! This would be such a good quality of life change. Also way more pleasing to look at the characters' portraits than the gray cogwheels.

  • The DC penalty is totally fine, as long as my opponent(s) are not way better than me, to the point that I don't get to do anything in the game. I love going against Nurses that I can loop at least for a little bit, even if they kill me in the end. That's fun. What's not fun is not being able to dodge a single blink hit, 'cause the Nurse is top tier, and no juke I attempt works against her. Now add to that me going against a top tier Nurse 4 matches in a row.

  • Yes, I agree! This would be very helpful, 'cause having to click the cogwheel to see who's talking in the endgame chat is tedious. That, and the gray gear icons are just dull to look at.

  • Sluzzy, please watch some really experienced cracked DBD killer streamers. You'll see how awesome they are at spreading pressure through injuring mutliple survivors, and also how fast that pressure dies away 'cause of 1 boon totem.... that gets reblessed so many freakin' times.

  • Dear devs, I really think you have missed the real problem with CoH. It is not the healing speed, it is that there is NO cooldown. The killer can snuff out the totem, go away, and the survivor who was hiding nearby can instantly rebless it. Adding a cooldown would prevent survivors from just booning in the killer's face, and would actually have to strategically boon at a place that is unlikely for the killer to patrol.

If you are careless with where/when you boon, then you have to wait until the cooldown is over.

  • I really hope they keep the current hemorrhage (more frequent bleeding) together with the healing regressing.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/316551/mmr-should-be-based-around-chases

And when I play perfect stealth and don't get chased a single time

If you don't get chased a single time (which should happen rarely), then your MMR shouldn't change after that match, 'cause your skills weren't put to the test.

  • I've had this bug happen twice to me last year. It was a regular Huntress though (not legendary Baba Yaga). She didn't hum the entire match.

  • @randonly said:

    some objections and notes

1 Rancor will become more situational than it currently is, this will make it even less valued and used, losing the chance to kill the obsession once the generators are done to change it when "gates are opened".

2 perks that have the effect inside the killer's terror radius are good and not useless. Terror radius is not the same thing as red stain. The terror radius is felt when you hear the approach chase music that ranges from 32-24 meters, and can be increased with perks like Agitation. So it's quite common for survivors to heal or use items inside the killer's terror radius.

    3. Hex: Thrill of the Hunt - it was "nerfed" (better reworked) because the artist would easily interrupt any action on the totem with birds, and since every cleanse action on totem restarts from zero, it would be impossible. I would only agree to any changes if the cleanse action progress could be save

As for the others, I have nothing to object to.

    1) You misunderstood me. I didn't say Rancor should activate when the exit gates are opened, but when they are powered . The gates are powered when either the last gen gets done, or when the hatch is closed. Powered gates still need to be opened. Right now, if there's 1 survivor remaining, and not all gens are done, and the killer closes the hatch, they cannot insta-down and mori the last person (if they are the obsession), because of the current limitations. Closing the hatch powers the gate, and immediately activates Rancor on the obsession.

    2) Ask anyone on their opinion about Coulrophobia and Overwhelming Presence, I think people generally don't find those perks good. I never use them, 'cause they are bad. Unnerving presence on the other hand feels okay.

    3) You make a good point. I see how the perk would be OP on the Artist. However, the old Thrill of the Hunt is a fabulous perk, and I feel that instead of nerfing it because of one killer, they should adjust the 1 killer to the perk.

    Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

  • I agree with Marc_123, you could buy the levels that you are missing. Honestly, I feel that the rift grind has been a bit too easy, if you play at least semi-regularly, you can max it out quite fast.

  • The Artist and the Twins can't use their abilities when too near the hook. In my opinion, Bubba and Hillbilly shouldn't be able to, either.

That, and.... hook grabs should be removed. It feels so unnecessary and encourages camping.

  • I agree, the censor system is very bad . Claudette, Adam & Yun-Jin's names are censored. A lot of common (non-toxic) words (like "you") are censored. It makes the endgame chat a real hassle, even when you're trying to tell someone they played really well. Please make it optional, or remove it.

Because I'm a hoarder and I'll keep my 311 sacrificial cakes thank you

Those sacrifical cakes would help 311 * 4 = 1244 other players with the awful grind in this game, just saying. :) Sharing is caring.

  • I agree that game health is very important, but making perks much easier to obtain would make more people play the game, and not be frustrated with the grind. Especially the new players.

  • I don't see why the old map has to be disabled until the new one is ready. With every map rework so far, the game would use the old maps until the day that brought the patch with the new maps.

  • A FNAF chapter release during the anniversary would be a big jackpot for BHVR, imo. Springtrap as killer, a survivor (just to give the fans an additional reason to play), and a map (pizzeria, or Fazbear's Fright) would be a huge success. The anniversary event would further compel the new players who are FNAF fans to stay. :)

  • I agree with this. Killers using the shroud of separation, and survivors using the shroud of binding is a bad idea for both. Like shooting oneself in the foot. I never see them used. (I wonder why.... /s ). I'd either switch them around, or remove them completely, so I don't have to waste blood points onto them while doing bloodwebs.

  • @firefox said:

    1) Remove SBMM and add in a competitive/casual mode. Disable SWF and super strong perks in competitive like COH, dead hard, Noed, etc. You might say this will split the playerbase, but it is better than losing all your players, and you probably would have more in the long-run on each side regardless from doing this even if it's cut in half temporarily.

    2) Get creative with new killers, no more boring frankenstein monster design/powers where you just copy + paste 2 weaker versions of old killers together (looking at u sadako). Need a killer who can mind control survivors, summon monsters, etc. Too many killers just feel the same as others, and it is boring.

    3) Perk point system to balance perks, increase slots to 8 for both sides and make each perk cost between 1-4 points based on strength. This is obvious considering how unbalanced perks in DBD currently are.

    Thats it

Removing the option to swf in DBD would drive many people away. Also, sweaty SWFs would abuse the casual mode to bully killers who actually wanna play casually. Killer would do the same to solo survivors.

The perk system is fine imo, it's just that the perk tiers are really outdated and unnecessary nowadays.

But then make the bottle actual downs the survivor that's the big difference between him and huntres in my mind because if she hits you you go down if he hits you you still have a chance to reach a loop smack a pallet and run

Yeah, that's a good point. However, you'd have to be really lucky to have a pallet right next to a hook, to run to, if he hits you directly with a bottle. Not to mention that the gas slows you down and it's harder to see. But yeah, I see your point.

  • Really good Nurses are already OP. Removing the blink charge time would be broken af imo. I think the Nurse currently actually needs some nerfing.

Move a bit and the action to heal will appear instantly

i don’t know how they haven’t fixed this issue yet after so much time….

    Thank you! :)

  • I agree, Jeff needs some love with his cosmetics!! They all feel the same, basic outfits. Even the new Greek outfit is so underwhelming, feels just like a retouched basic cloth for him. His Greek outfit could have been so much cooler! Please start giving him new outfits that look quite refreshing and different, instead of rehash of old, basic outfits, that only have a few things tweaked.

  • I agree about Stridor being pointless now. Until now, it had at a least a little bit of use, by counering Iron Will. Now it really sucks. It's worse than before. And the Spirit is still OP as before.

I don't see how survivors hearing their sounds louder has anything to do with Stridor being multiplicative instead of additive. These are 2 very different things. You could have just made survivors not hear their sounds louder, all while keeping Stridor additive.

Stridor and its potential usage really need some big consideration now, in my opinion.

As a Jane main,I would like to see Jane's face/makeup reworked or revert her face back to how she originally looked before..her iconic smile is gone, she looks angry and her eyes look very disturbing

I also miss Jane's smile. It was a big part of her personality, I feel. It's like they removed her soul with the removal of her smile.

  • I agree, the chat censoring is busted and totally hindering. It's not useful at all. It's a game about violence and murder, why is there censoring?? Also, people often need to vent after a game, censoring blocks that and further enrages players, imo.
