The infinite use was far too strong even with cooldowns. People shouldn't be able to make a hooked survivor last forever, camping because the gates are powered would be impossible.

How I see it is: the killer stops camping and goes for someone else, someone that is not currently hooked. If the killer keeps camping, they lose the game, as they should. If the killer goes away, but no-one goes to save the hooked person, then that's 1 person less doing gens or healing someone, etc. If they do get saved, then the game can progress as intended.

And if the hooked person wishes to not be hooked anymore, they can attempt to kobe. Or in the struggle phase, they could press the E or F button to remove the reassurance status on themself. If needed, the devs could disable Reassurance once the gates are powered. I honestly see no issues with it. (but again, if a killer needs to camp in endgame to get a kill, instead of getting it earlier, then the issues lies elsewhere imo)

  • @Crowman said:

It was too powerful on the ptb. The CD and active time didn't lead to situations where a survivor on hook wouldn't have the timer go down which is just not healthy for the game. Reassurance being a one time 30 second pause per a hook is fine, since it is still stackable.

I almost never have solo q teammates that bring reassurance. So it's only me. So much for "it's stackable". In theory yes. In practice only I bring it in my matches. And camping needs to be punished, because it's a lazy way to get kills. Since I'm the only one of my teammates bringing reassurance, I need to be able to activate it multiple times, to incite the killer to actually play the game and go for chases, rather than just stay near the hooked survivor until they die. That is very unhealthy for the game. It's not fun for the hooked survivor, and it rewards killers for being lazy and terrible at the game.

  • @Blueberry said:

It does not need improvements, it’s already an S tier perk.

Try playing solo q against a camping killer, while using reassurance. Tell me how it went.

  • Matchmaking is indeed bad, unfortunately. As a survivor, I get 1 match against a baby killer, who doesn't play that well, and then next match I get a really good killer with whom me and my team can't catch a break. As a killer, I get 1 match against new players who are (naturally) quite bad at the game, and only 1-2 yellow perks equipped, then the next match I get a strong team that gives me trouble.

    It sucks. :/

  • This is still bugged. It's been almost a year and a half since I reported this bug, and it still hasn't been addressed.

  • Imagine trying to heal someone after they're unhooked. With healing speeds being slower now, the killer most likely get to unterrupt and tunnel the unhooked person even easier than before. Imagine having to spend AGES to heal. Yes, medkits needed nerfs. So did CoH. But nerfing base healing speeds?? You're gonna make this game so unfun to play as. Who wants to spend ages healing and working on gens?

  • Dead Hard has indeed been very strong and arguably problematic, but this nerf is awful imo. Good luck getting that unhook. When I do tome unhooking challenges, other people swat over to hooks and I don't get to unhook. Again, good luck getting Dead Hard activated.... And then again it can fail due to latency.

    This is an overkill imo.

  • Hillbilly has been so weak... and yet they're killing what's left in joy of the few people who still play Billy and have been able to find fun in him. Meanwhile, Blight.........

  • Chainsaw should be disabled within x meters around the hook. Hook grabs should be removed. There we go. Now, will BHVR implement these changes?

  • I really hope BHVR is addressing these unfair skill checks in the upcoming Midchapter. Yesterday I got them in at least few matches, and it sucked. A streamer got it right as a gen was about to be done, and they went to unhook someone and let the other person finish the gen. -10% progress...

  • I have made 2 POSTS about this very issue and no-one seemed to care. Which is very sad. Why don't the survivor or devs care about fixing this? The unfair skill checks are very frustrating and ruin everything for survivors. One thing is missing a skill check because of your own lack of focus or carelessness, but when it's a skill check that cannot be hit due to unfortunate timing, then the survivor(s) suffer due to something out of their control.

DEVS please, stop ignoring this awful frustrating "mechanic". Do something about it.

  • Trapper needs to be carrying all of his traps by default imo. Good survivors avoid traps easily anyway, and then if you have to go around the whole map and waste time picking traps up, you're doomed. And yeah, this contributes to Trapper being the worst killer in the game right now. The DBD icon himself. It's sad.

Make him carry all of his traps by default, and be able to pick them up. Nerf his basement camping abilites if needed. It shouldn't be that a Trapper wins if he manages to hook someone in the basement, but most likely loses if he doesn't. His success shouldn't revolve around the freakin' basement smh.

Billy is no more harder to counter than any other camping killer while you are exposed.

Billy and Bubba have instadown as their basekit. Ofc if you're exposed or injured that you can't easily unhook when ANY killer is camping. But if you're healthy, you should be able to either trade, or successfully unhook with the help of another person. Instadown chainsaw and hook grabs mess that up for survivors big time, and give the camper a huge advantage. Then the killers who aren't that good at the game resort to camping 'cause it's easy, rather than practice the killer and get better.

Killers should be rewarded for skillful plays and ending chases fast, not for being able to instadown / grab anyone trying to unhook a person.

  • I just had the same kind of match. A SWF of 3 brought the Ormond offering and just kept climbing that rock. I was the 4th survivor, solo queue. Blight managed to kill 1 of them 'cause they were cocky, but the other 2 just stood there for the entire match. The Blight wouldn't DC, so I had to do 5 full gens myself.

This map needs to be KILLSWITCHED asap!

  • I meant more like rainbow shirts, pants, weapons, heads etc. but rainbow themed gens and hooks would be cool too :D

  • I agree, this is very annoying when I want to quickly type in chat and say "gg" or "sorry" before the other person leaves.

  • DS is currently mediocre, much worse than OTR, AND it still has a TINY skill check that's too hard to hit on laggy PCs/consoles. AND, if you miss the skill check, DS is dead for the rest of the match, you don't even get to try again after the next unhook. Unlike OTR, which activates both times. I'm still baffled by how the devs don't want to increase the skill check to be hit-able by everyone. It's as if they want to encourage tunneling...

  • I feel like removing the 100 cap would be a bad idea. People love setting goals and reaching them. Working for and reaching P 100 on a character feels really good, and rewarding in the end. You get infinite level 50 bloodwebs, which means 2 iri nodes. You also have a rounded big number to shove off. It feels like completion, and very satisfying, I believe. (I don't have a P 100 myself)

Then after reaching this lofty goal with 1 character, you can reach it with someone else. This inspires players to play the game and strive for something. If you remove the cap, then there's nothing to strive for, nothing to reach, nothing to achieve.

  • Yeah, I definitely noticed this. I did a few matches as Nurse this week, and her music was SO loud, I was like "shut up! Q_Q"...

  • Hasn't this addon been bugged for months now, maybe even a year? BHVR, what are you waiting for??

They have shown money isn't the only thing they care about with focus on things you mentioned which isn't where the money is. Making a character gay, or in Haddie's case making a generic, uninteresting character (in my opinion) isn't going to bring the masses in willing to throw money at the game. Honestly what more do you want from them? Not every character design is going to be received well. You learn from that and move on to better ideas that will produce a better response. I don't know what they can do with Haddie at this point to generate more interest in her. Another outfit or even 10 new outfits for her won't suddenly make her one of the top 5 most played survivors. The character itself is where the failure is. They can focus on representation within the game, which they have, but they also have to focus on keeping the game profitable which means creating content that will produce a lot of sales. If characters like Haddie don't do that then it isn't reasonable to expect them to focus on parts of the game that most people simply aren't interested in. They should focus on making the next Feng, the next Yui, the next Kate, etc.

There are us who like/love Haddie. I would play her more if she had more cosmetics (and especially good cosmetics). I don't think Haddie should have been like Kate, Yui or Feng. Haddie is unique both in regards to her race/ethnicity, and her body type. A lot of DBD players can relate to her on that level. Seeing BHVR not caring about Indians and/or women of her body type isn't sending a good message. Also, they are missing out on creating that deeper connection between players who relate to Haddie, and the game/devs.

I love Kate, Yui and Feng, but god do I get tired of seeing them all the time sometimes... I want more Haddies, more Davids, more Adams, more Janes, Élodies, Zarinas, Jeffs, ... Rather than dumping away these characters, the devs could make them more appealing to play. For example, finally make all survivors equally loud, so people don't avoid playing Jane/Jeff for the reason that they are loud . Then, start giving them more cosmetics that are actually good, so they would be more appealing to play. I myself didn't really play Jane or Jeff much until BHVR finally started giving them some cool rift outfits. Getting those outfits made me actually want to play them. I am a kind of person that plays every survivor, and changes their cosmetics often. If I can't do that with someone, I don't really feel like playing them most of the time.

What a boring game DBD will become, if BHVR starts giving (good) cosmetics to only hot (by popular opinion) females, and other survivors suffer lack of them. Every lobby will be just females of the same body features. Even now it's often like that. It's so f-ing boring and bland. I want variety. Give me interesting lobbies, various characters, male, female, other genders, slim people, people with bigger boddies, hairy, etc. Variety is awesome. Not lobbies full of clones of females that are "beatiful by the popular standards" smh.

P.S. Dear BHVR, give us guys with body hair, give us a granny survivor <3

  • Ruin should not have got a nerf last year in the first place, since the damn totem gets cleansed 1 minute into the match too often. How is that possibly an OP perk? smh

  • @CBT137 said:

Blue is the colour of the rift, and there isnt really an incentive to change it for BHVR

There totally is, color variety of cosmetics. They are not bound by law to only release blue recolors of deep rift cosmetics. They have all the freedom in the world to choose their colors.

  • If anything, I think Boil Over needs a buff. Currently, I don't feel like it's a perk very exciting to bring into a match...

  • @Nazzzak said:

Go back to when she was released and read posts on here and social media. Everything was negative. People commenting on her looks and her weight... it was actually ridiculous. I wouldn't be surprised if BHVR thought 'okay well, the community doesn't like her so we'll focus more on survivors they do like'. Even now, topics regarding Haddie not having cosmetics only seem to pop up whenever Feng gets a new outfit. People need to start requesting Haddie cosmetics all the time, not just when trying to make an argument against Feng's latest fashion.

I understand but, a lot of people share Haddie's body size / appearance. A lot of DBD players included. Why wouldn't BHVR give her love and show people who look/feel like her that they are worthy and supported? I mean, the self-worth is something that needs to be addressed internally by each individual, but this would certainly reach out to a lot of people struggling. BHVR rejecting Haddie for her appearance and what others think of her is like rejecting all players that look like her. I really hope that's not the case.

  • They always choose whom to release: what their characters are gonna look like, what their voice is gonna sound like, which default and beginning store cosmetics they'll have, what will be in their backstory, etc.

I like Haddie quite a lot. She looks really good in her diving costume. It shows that she'd really go well with various cosmetics.... she just needs to receive them...

  • @sizzlingmario4 said:

Yes, and it's not a Hope-exclusive thing either. Haste affects all movement speeds on both sides of the game. So for survivors, this means it increases running, walking, crouching, and crawling speed. For example, a survivor's default walking speed is 2.26m/s. With Hope, a survivor's walking speed would be 7% greater than that which is 2.4182m/s.

It also increases all movement speeds for killers (eg. default speed, speed while carrying a survivor, speed while in attack cooldown, etc.). It also increases a killer's speed when their speed is being affected by their power (for example, when Huntress is slowed down because she's holding up a hatchet, NOED would still increase that slowed-down movement speed by 4%; however this won't be as noticeable because it'd be 4% of the slower speed, not 4% of base Huntress speed).

    Thank you very much! 😊

  • In my opinion, Felix's shirt looks rushed, sloppily done, without any care. It looks awful on him. Awful. The size is too big, it doesn't fit his body well. It looks like somebody just put a sack on him.

The shirt is supposed to be a bout koi (carps) / fish, but even with straning my eyes, I can't find fish on it. It just looks like somebody gave a cild some white chalk, and they scribbled randomly on the shirt to produce these lines that make no sense. The details on the shirt are very, very cluttered. You can't make out anything normally.

This can't possibly be a shirt from pet collection, 'cause it doesn't look nor feel like anything animal/pet related. I fully expect you (BHVR) to give Felix a proper pet shirt, 'cause this one is soooo bad.

  • I really enjoy the bloodwebs, they are a fun mechanic for me. I love the sounds as well. However the time it takes to do them now is what sucks.

  • Dear BHVR, hear me out. How about.... "gift to friends" option for each cosmetic in the store, as well as the rift? :) Wouldn't you like to make more money? We love gifting things to friends, surprising them, seeing/hearing their happy reactions. Fortnite has it, and it's awesome! Without this, it's a big hassle, and people aren't really willing to go through it.

  • Eruption really needs a rework, or a good nerf. Being unable to do anything for a long time is like someone took your controller/keyboard away from you. You're impotent. Pain Res can be played around (for the fear of DMS), and you can continue doing the gen, or heal someone. With Eruption, you can't do anything. Very unfun.

  • Thank you Devs for finally listening to us <3 I personally like Nurse's power and wouldn't like it to be reworked, because it's fun. Of course, it can be nerfed if needed. But finally making her blink attacks special attacks, and removing the blink distance functions from addons is a godsend. Thank you!

  • I guess they just don't care and are hoping we forget about this :')

  • I love how neither BHVR nor SteelSeries is talking about this. Gotta love the transparency and open communication. /s

  • I agree. Many times I've used the wrong bottle, because I was convinced that I was holding the other one.

  • I think barely anyone runs "Whispers". It's not that good of a aperk, it's more like decent.

  • BHVR, do you have any interest in fixing this issue?

  • I don't think BHVR is gonna change Nurse until/unless a person/company of influence mentions it on a social media and roasts them... Only then would they finally save the game from that horribly imbalanced killer.

  • @wimpy said:

Is the "server error" a BHVR problem or a SteelSeries problem?

No idea, but the error still shows up today, I don't think they care about fixing it....

  • I mean, the codes seem to not be working for anyone, so.... BHVR should figure it out already. I've made this post, too. Thanks, though.

  • Yeap... They actually gave me a different code yesterday, but I still get the same error (server issues). :/

  • Added a very crucial change that is needed (and was promised, but not delivered!)

    9) All survivor should be EQUALLY LOUD. There is no excuse to have some survivors too quiet and hard to hear, and have others be so loud that people don't want to play them, because the killer hears them from miles away.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

    Is Onryo weak?

Well, if you look at the kill rates that BHVR posted some time ago, you would think she's really good. But, thruth is that she's not. She doesn't really have any chase power, unless she uses certain addons. Survivors don't really get condemned easily, unless she uses certain addons (one of them being iri). She needs better basekit, for sure (imo).

  • Apparently when a guard spots a survivor, he frst starts running towards the place the survivor was seen (even if survivors has already run away), and only after that he starts chasing a survivor. Like.... WHY?? Why make it like that. Guards are so slow, and they are wasting so much time trying to catch a survivor.

Anyway, really good post. The guard is very clunky atm. There have been so many situations where I wanted to spawn a guard, but due to the junk around me, I just couldn't get the prompt. I had to move around until I got the prompt, but by then, the survivor had already left. Very annoying and making the knight's power useless.

One thing that you forgot to mention is.... Why does grabbing a GUARD'S BANNER give survivors endurance and speed boost?????? WHY????? They get rid of the threat, AND they get buffs. Why don't you just cut off the knight's legs and strip him of all of his power? It's ridiculous. Grabbing a banner eliminates the threat (a guard), so it should at no reason give survivors ANY buffs.

    My complaints:

    1) unable to use power in a lot of places (unlike Spirit for example)

    2) guards should not waste time by first running to the spot they first saw a survivor at - they should immediately go for the survivor

    3) grabbing a guard's banner should give NO buffs to survivors, since eliminating a guard is already an advantage

    4) the guards are too slow, basically can't catch shift + W survivors

    5) I would also say that survivors being able to see the green orbs SUCKS. Imagine survivors being able to see where the Spirit is during her phasing. I'd rather the orbs get replaced by a directional sound. Or even give no clue at all, since the guards take TIME to activate. Unlike Sprit, who can immediately M1 after the phase ends.

  • On the topic, I love Vittorio's purple cosmetics. Not just because he's shirtless, but they are really, really cool, badass looking imo. The glowing tattoos, the hair/beard, the pants. Very good direction imo. But yeah, I do understand that people want the medieval cosmetics for him as well. Hopefully BHVR satisfies these wishes as well. I feel like they would be making money.
