I also think that the objective points should bet upped. I always used to run Prove Thyself during events, just because it enabled me to max out the objective category. Without it, good luck :\
And now.... yeah.
-
I agree! Let us toggle things on or of - backpacks, glasses, etc.
I've seen many people choose not to buy a skin just because it has a backpack. I also know that many people do not like the glasses on David's "coming out" tome cosmetic.
The toggle feature would be a godsend!
-
I personally love the backpacks! However, I have seen many people complaining about backpacks and choosing not to buy a skin just because the backpack ruins it for them.
I have already suggested to BHVR to let us toggle backpacks on/off . It would do wonders for their sales.
Specifically regarding this Vittorio cosmetic - I personally love the backpack, it feels very fitting. BUT, I want you guys to be able to take it off too <3
-
Thank you! <33
-
I forgot to mention that the characters in Fortnite also get additional outfit recolors (not shown here) when you do special (weekly) quests. People (including me) love to grind for these. Opening up DBD for this would be huge, in my opinion.
-
BHVR could definitely add a heart emote. An emote where a player makes a heart shape with their arms. It would add so much wholesomeness to the game, and I see no way of how this specific emote could be used in a toxic manner.
-
A few weeks ago I made a similar thread. My solution was - if 1 person is on death hook, and no-one else has been hooked, then make the death hook person invulnerable until another person gets hooked. This would work only once in the match, and only if this happens. It would be a mechanism that speficially protects the team from losing 1 person in scenarios when the person is getting hardcore tunneled, and no-one else has got hooked.
It is very easy to just go after the unhooked person, because you only have to take away 1 health state (instead of 2). I can only hope the devs will do something about it.

I want him.
Me too.... 😩 I've always felt kind of neutral about Adam (I do like him). But if he looked like this... I feel like his popularity would sky rocket, he would become so much more interesting. And yes, looks do matter and they sell. They did it with Jake, and I fully support it. ☺️
-
I mean, at least in the English language interface, First Name should always preceed the Last name. Min's case has just been creating confusion for no good reason, I feel.
-
Min is a really cute name, I hope they consider this change 😊
-
These are really good suggestions! I wrote a post 1-2 months ago about wanting the Map of the Realm to either become basekit or half-basekit. Without it, it's sooo hard to not mess up your guard placement and not get value from the guard.
Also yeah, the Knight's green addons are quite bad. I never have a desire to use them. They need a rework.
-
I know that people have been asking for a Werewolf killer. It is such an obvious choice, too. Werewolves are iconic. I would love a werewolf killer in DBD (preferabbly non-licenced, to open up the unlimited potential of cosmetics <3 )!
-
Pharmacy was okay when the green medkit you got from it actually enabled you to heal in 8 seconds. Right now green medkits take as long as brown medkits (24 seconds) to heal you, so doing all the work of finding a chest, opening it, and then spending additional 24 seconds to heal yourself is so not worth it. Better bring self-care, at least it's always with you, guaranteed and unlimited.
The perk needs changing, because it's definitely not appealing right now, in my opinion.
-
Thank you <3

I don't think complete immunity is the way to go, but I do think those two perks could be given anti-haemorrhage components.
Say...
Resurgence: When you are unhooked, in addition to the perk's regular effects, you clear the Haemorrhage status effect.
Solidarity: In addition to the perk's regular effects, if you reach 50% heal progress from healing someone else, you clear the Haemorrhage status effect.
That way the perks do their job without being harmed by the status effect, but the status effect can also still affect the survivor who brought them if they are hit by it when not actually using the perks- when healing between hooks for Resurgence, and when being healed by someone else for Solidarity.
Yeah, what you suggest sounds nice. I would take it, as long as these 2 perks get some love. They are quite niche and unpopular.

2 months later, this is still bugged. A few days ago I ran into this same invisible collision, that stopped me from moving.
(I'm sorry if I'm bringing up an "old" thread, but rather than reuploading the image, I thought it would be better to just add to this)

It's a good middle ground.
But the word incapacitated brings back old eruption ptsd, so maybe i would just take the 5s stun for everyone only to avoid more mechanics that stop you from playing the game.
It's also kinda sad that DS even in its current state is still the only good counter to tunneling
I mean, what I suggested would only disable the killer for using their power (not M1s, you can still do that) for 4-5 seconds after the stun is over. It would take you at least 10 seconds to catch up to the survivor anyway, so you wouldn't really be prevented from playing the game. It would only ensure that you can't immediately down the survivor again. You could still chase after the survivor and M1. It would simply be a safety mechanism against easy tunneling by high mobility or range killers.
This is also how I would have prefered Pain Res got nerfed: keep the old unlimited 15% gen regression per hook, but add a cooldown to the perk. This way, high pressure killers and camping killers wouldn't be able to just get an insane gen regression value for little effort, all while weaker killers would be able to get nice Pain res value, because the cooldown would have usually passed by the time they got another down.
-
I feel like the skin fits Thalita quite a bit. Also, I love Renato's greek skin, it's sooo good. One of the coolest skins from the entire greek collection, in my opinion. Of course, tastes differ.
-
I agree, Nic's voicelines are so gooood, other characters should be able to hear them too.

Yes please! The new Haddie rift skins are really good but I kinda hate the backpack. The option to get rid of that would make me actually want to finish out the rift to get the purple version because I love everything else about it.
Yeah, I get you. I've seen many people mention how they don't like the backpack, so if BHVR enabled us to take them off, many more people would love to use these cosmetics. Hopefully they listen to us. :)
-
I wish they kept the old condemning mechanic. It was really good, it just needed tweaks:
- the post-projection cooldown on TVs should have been much lower, so there would be no need for the old iri addon
- potentially make the (new) ring drawing basekit.
Old sadako, without the awful TV cooldowns, and without the need to rely on specific addons to make the condemning viable, would have been a win imo. That's all they needed to do. I agree that now she doesn't seem like a tactical killer with high skill ceiling anymore. She is a killer where all you do is spam teleport and get easy kills. I really hope that they revert this change and implement the small tweaks like the ones I listed above.

Hello I am very curious as to a change that came out with the update for today and I have to ask why was this cosmetic changed? I honestly preferred it the way it was and I am wondering what the change was for. The added a backpack for Felix Bavarian waistcoat that looks very out of place even with the full set can we maybe have both a non version and backpack cosmetic available for choice. I really enjoy the simple look of the cosmetic now it's very off putting.

I would love, love this skin to be in the game. I've been wanting it for so long, it is just so cool! Hopefully some day we get her in DBD. 🙏

I don't see a problem in buying auric cells...? I mean yeah, it takes a few more steps, but it's not that hard. I guess it's just that if you want the teal jacket variant from the DLC, but don't want to pay more than $5, then yeah I get it. Although, if you buy the DLC, you get a full cosmetic for half the price ($5 instead of $10).
My guess is that if you want the teal jacket, then you probably intend on getting Nicolas Cage cosmetics in the future, so the DLC is a great deal for you. People who don't care about cosmetics on their characters wouldn't care about the teal jacket.... which is where Auric Cells are your friend :)
-
DS does need a buff imo. If the devs don't want to increase the stun duration back to 5 seconds, then here's my suggestion:
-> keep the stun duration at 3 seconds, but disable the killer from using their power for 5-7 seconds. That way, the killer can still recover fast from the stun and start following the survivor, but they cannot use their power. A trapper or a pig wouldn't even use their power normally in this situation, because M1 is the better choice. However, disabling a Nurse, Huntress, Blight or Wesker from using their power immediately means that they can still go after the survivor and not lose much distance, but not immediately down the survivor again due to their insane mobility or range of attack.
I feel like this change would make DS almost as useful against Nurse etc. as it is against a Trapper.

@Emeal said:
This is quite the reach, like is Wesker overperforming? on what basis other than him being a good Killer, are you proposing to nerf him?
The devs have the history of nerfing the things that are too popular. 50% heal speed self-care was arguably a bad perk, and the devs nerfed it because it was too popular . They even wanted to nerf Hillbilly's engraving add-ons because they were too popular, not because they were overpeforming. So by that logic, yes, Wesker needs a nerf just based on his excessive popularity. But he also has too much to his power, like I mentioned.
-
I think that the upcoming nerf to BNPs and Prove Thyself is going to help the killer, because the endgame won't happen as soon anymore.
-
I feel like Pain Res is in a weird spot. It can be really powerful if you manage to regress gens that have 25%+ progress, however if they pop in your face while you're carrying the survivor to a scourge hook, then you either risk hooking and wasting a token on a 2% gen, or drop and risk the survivor wiggling off.
-
I had a similar suggestion to this problem recently: If there's no chase happening in 5 minutes, every survivor gets a killer instinct, until either a chase starts, or a survivor loses a health state.
-
I definitely agree. Calm Spirit is such a niche perk, I almost never see anyone running it. The penalty is really undeserved, it makes the perk favor the killer more than the survivor running it (unless the killer has a way to make survivors scream consistently)
-
Yes, please. I reallly, reallllllly dislike the idea of Wiretap and Blast Mine having to activate simultenously, and us not having a choice in the matter. One of my favorite combos to run is Wiretap + Blastmine, because I would be able to signal to teammates multiple times where my gen is. Or simply activate one or the other if the killer approaches. Tying these perks together makes them very unappealing to use :( . At least make Wiretap activate at 45%, if you must.
-
I agree, the breakout change is gonna make it harder to use this perk, I beg the devs to not touch it.
-
The point (2) you mentioned is absolutely vital in my opinion. Saboteur should go on cooldown ONLY if the sabo was completed. One reason is that the cooldown is quite big, the other reason being when you unhook someone and want to start healing them, you accidentally start sabo-ing the hook, and even though you interrupt it, the cooldown is still triggered. Massive obstacle to the health of this perk, I feel.
-
I guess whoever you have the most fun with, whoever has the most interesting cosmetics (and variety) (if you care about that), whoever you see yourself playing a lot and (optionally) hoarding stuff on.
-
I love new Jonah's cosmetic, but I also wanna ask if Jonah is gonna get a different hair color (and also hair style) some day? It adds in the fun and variety :)
-
I agree that removing the BP bonus kinda hurts. Without it, it's really hard getting a lot of Objectives BP. Dear devs, could you please consider either leaving the BP bonus in, or instead increasing the Objectives BP we get for working on gens in general?
-
Anyway, I give up. Almost no-one shares my sentiment. Almost everyone defends and encourages tunneling in here. BHVR listens to what the majority wants, and you guys have spoken: YES to tunneling! Sad, but nothing I can do... I'm glad that I at least tried.
I won't bother with this thread anymore. May as well close it, devs. You guys win, tunneling got defended successfully and won't leave this game ever!
-
I agree, we need these outifts! I would pay so much money for them, BHVR. <3 (genuinely)

No! I am absolutely not saying that!
WHOA! That was an extreme jump in thought process. I believe that comparison is a False Dichotomy, something used in arguments to incorrectly draw comparisons in a way that is not accurate. It's a type of logical fallacy. A logical fallacy is defined as "common errors in reasoning that will undermine the logic of your argument".
Stating a character is disadvantaged because they glow (literally in the dark!), is not the same as stating a character is disadvantaged because of their race. If anything, characters models being darker (cosmetics etc.), are known to provide stealth benefits to make being found more difficult. This aspect (glowing tattoos) is separate from the killer player and their intentions.
In your comparison, a hateful and racist individual playing killer is completely in control of the toxic and hateful intent.
Summary: In your game, all players could have played with good intentions despite someone being tunneled out while no one else was hooked. In your "racial -based comparison", a player is NOT playing with good intentions and is purposefully trying to spread hate and bigotry. Absolutely not comparable!
Bringing this conversation away from that topic, and back to the main topic, there are still 4/5 listed points you blatantly ignored.
What I am saying, is there were actions you could have taken to mitigate the likelihood of the outcome you are so clearly upset by. So instead of blaming the game/devs, you could either roll with the punches and let it go, or adjust accordingly and make different gameplay and cosmetic choices. That's all! No, jumping to CRAZY CONCLUSIONS, or drawing RADICAL COMPARISONS.
I said "what I am saying". If you disagree, that's fine. But, please don't twist other's words into something they are not.
I did not ignore your other points, I just didn't write a comment 'cause I mostly agree with them. I just commened on the one I disagreed with. And yes, the killer probably lost because they were relenetlessly pursuing me. He lost me once thanks to Leon. I got the chance to heal once. (but honestly I bring the medkit for teammates mostly nowadays)
But he had cams all over the place and didn't take him long to find me. And as you can see, he didn't bother downing and hooking Leon, despite Leon taking a hit and the killer losing me. He ignored an easy hook (Leon) and went out of their way to find me and remove me from the match.
Sadly, in most of these scenarios I don't have such good teammates, and we all die with multiple gens left to do. I am FINE with BNPs gone, and gen perks / toolboxes nerfed. But even then, killers will go for tunneling, because they are not punished for it. And it's sad you guys are defending the tunneling. Do you really want this in the game?? Have you never been tunneled like this? Are you that lucky as a survivor? Maybe you always play in SWF and don't have to do with poor management of solo q? Or do you just play killer?

Yeah, but OP is complaining about tunneling while using gen speed perks...
OP wants to finish his objective faster, so did killer.
If only you read my reply above, where I said I brought Prove Thyself for points mostly. Good luck getting a lot of points as a survivor in general. And I brought Inner Healing + Overzealous for a nice combo, but especially since I get boldness points for cleansing totems. But guess who didn't get a single chance to look for a totem this match? Yeap, me. I also wrote that I mostly run builds that don't have gen perks in them, and still get tunneled. Also, the killer started tunneling me at 4 gens left. He managed to lost me once thanks to Leon, but as you see, he didn't bother downing and hooking Leon. He instead started searching for me again. The killer can bring Pain Res and Jolt if they want to, and get a nice value from hooking multiple people. I'm fine with that. But I got relentlesly targetted and didn't get to enjoy the match at all. That's a whole different thing.
-
Thanks guys, those seem like builds, I'm definitely gonna try them out 😁

@SixShotOcelot said:
Couple of points I thought were worth mentioning (mostly based on OP's post and image).
- While you were tunneled, you also were present MOST of the match since your team managed to complete 4/5 generators.
- You're using bond! From my own experience, bond is one of the best perks for avoiding being found from the killer, especially when on death hook. This is because, if the killer is chasing a teammate, you can see them running at you and either get a head start to runaway or hide.
- You're playing a character that literally glows and complaining about being tunneled out of the game. It is not the killer's fault that your character is easier to find than Feng, Jake or Leon.
- You say the killer only has to deal with one health state of an unhooked survivor. But, you have a mostly used yellow medkit and inner healing. Plus 2x injured teammates, most of this plus the fact that 4/5 gens were done, would infer that you had the time/opportunity to heal yourself atleast one of the times you were unhooked.
- The image shows what appears to be a losing match for the killer. 3v1 with 4/5 gens done and the last at 60%. Honestly, the killer probably would have had a better chance of winning if they hadn't tunneled. So, it seems the killer's choice to tunnel you may have lost them the match.
Being tunneled to death sucks. But there is a vast difference between being the only one to die/be hooked all match, but still having a full match vs being tunneled out at 5 gens, less than 2minutes into the match.
I'd be very interested in seeing the full video of the match.
So you are saying it's my fault for being tunneled because I was playing as a character I love, partially because he has cool glowing tattoos and is easier to spot? It's like saying to a claudette player it's their fault for being tunneled, by playing a black character against a racist. Come on, man. We should be able to play the characters that we love, whether they are black, or glowing. Neither of these justifies targetted harassment. If anything, the killers should be thankful that I'm playing a glowing character, rather than someone with a P3 or dark cosmetic, for the purpose of being easily hidden. I did not do anything to provoke the killer during this match.
-
I managed to escape the killer once, but only because Leon was a really good champ and took hits for me. But don't worry, the killer (Singularity) had cams all over the map and didn't take long to find me and commit to me again. Sadly I don't have a video from this match.
Most of my survivor matches I bring fun builds, not really designed for genrushing. Like, I love running, wiretap with blastmine, or sprint burst with vigil, self-aware, blood rush, etc. During the event I like bringing Prove Thyself for the Objective Points, and Inner Healing for the boldness points. Overzealous just ties this nicely.
Rather than you guys saying it's okay what this killer did, defending them, due to genrushing being a thing, how about you help me eliminate both of them from this game? Have you ever thought about that? 😉

For myself I've been loving it on Onryô. My build is FtD, Sloppy, Nurse's, and Gearhead. In experimenting with it on Freddy, too.
Tried it on a 'trap totem' build on Skull Merchant (Haunted, Undying, Retribution, + one they'll want/need to cleanse). Handy but I've been looking at other picks for that one (Blood Favor or Devour).
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3464554#Comment_3464554
Random fun Fact if you didn't already know it: The extra Feral Frenzy detection given by Susie's Mix Tape works even when Undetectable, though still won't find Oblivious Survivors.
Those builds seem fun, thanks for the recommendations! :D
Also I didn't know that about the mixtape, I appreciate it!
-
My suggestion: after 5 minutes of no chase, all survivors start emitting a killer instinct, that only goes away once a chase starts, and/or they get hit.
Will the devs do it? 🤷♂️
-
I've seen Weskers do this. Someone unhooks you and you want to run with them to safety, but the unhooker just leaves you. You have no ways of healing yourself (because you didn't bring anything for healing, or you ran out), but you are about to be hindered. Of course you're gonna spray yourself. And guess who is more than happy to go for that killers instinct, especially after seeing on the HUD that you are still injured? 🙃
Even if you get healed and then spray yourself, guess who's dropping by? 😙
-
I usually run Face the Darkness with Plaything. Sometimes I even throw in the undetectable addons on Nemesis or Legion. It can be used with other perks that grant the undetectable status.

I needed 2mil for the same on my P32 Wesker.
Damn, that feels really unfair. I really hope the devs do something about this.
-
Dear devs, PLEASE consider adjusting this, before it's too late. The event items are basically items we get normally in the bloodwebs, we already have plenty of those. They just look special. What we much rather want are the event offerings.
Please make the ratio at least 75% (terrormisus) to 25% (toolboxes, medkits, flashlights).
