Why isn't DS stun 30 seconds?
I am genuinely curious. You said you wanted to address tunneling and camping, but you made both easier for killers to do. It's been happening a lot, sadly. I've used my 3 seconds stun DS a few times, and none of the times it really helped me. The perk is a joke right now. Tunneling makes the game for the killer way easier than if they went for another survivor. Why are killers not severely punished for tunneling and camping? Why not make tunneling soooooo unappealing and risky by making the Desicive Strike stun take 30 seconds? (or at least 15) Make tunneling killers sweat profusely every time they opt for tunneling. Unless of course, you secretly do like to encourage tunneling, which is kind of hinted by you reducing the DS stun from 5 to 3 seconds. One thing is making killers have an easier time catchip up to survivors in chase, but a whole another thing is making it easier for them to tunnel.
I'd rather have DS active for 40 seconds and give a long enough stun (punishment) than active for 60 seconds and do nothing really.
Also camping... Why doesn't the hook timer pause completely whenever the killer is within X meters from the hook? Why isn't their M2 ability disabled? They can still M1, you know, no need to have insta-down chainsaw readily available.
If BHVR or someone else wants to let me know why tunneling and camping are actually encouraged, I'm listening. Do you think that someone eliminated from the match within the first 2 minutes is going to want to keep playing this game?

Because 30 seconds would be insane. When it was 5 seconds it was already overly used, at 30 seconds it would be totally game breaking.
If you're near a strong window or pallet it doesn't matter it it's 3 seconds or 5 seconds. Unless it's a nurse, and then it still doesn't matter if it's 3 seconds or 5 seconds.
You have to plan where you get downed more, although obviously there's some situations where that's not always an option
The 3 seconds starts with the animation so realistically you have only 2 seconds to make it to something. So they need to either increase it back to 5 or let the timer start after you land on the ground.
Yeah 10s would be enough. 5s should be basekit.
They wanted to incentivize killers to not camp or tunnel. Not disable their ability to do so entirely.
If you did anything like this you'd have to give the killer a hook counter and an ability to differentiate between identity survivors.
Fair trade, I'm game.
While we're talking about "why is DS like this?" - why does DS have a very hard skill check involved? The only people who struggle to make it are new players or players who can only afford the most budget peripherals, but surely the design intention isn't "new players and poor people deserve to get tunneled out of the game".
Because that would be highly unbalanced
It's fine for survivors to have counter perks, but counter perks can only be so strong.
I don't know why that's not thing already at least the hook counter. Survivors you can usually tell who is who ones you get hit as you see who gets injured or who is dying state by the name. But that could be made easier too like killer seeing those obsession things on survivor who he chases.
Why doesn't No Way Out block the Exit Gate Switches until every Survivor is dead?
It definetely is the design intentention and also get your contoller broken too. I broke my controller because of it and had to buy new one I did hit it 95% of time. On pc it's easier with 120 fps on mouse so I think pc players hit it 99% of time.
Is this a joke?
Have you imagined what it would be like to suffer a 30 second stun?
To have a survivor be able to teabag in front of you for 25 seconds?
To have 1-3 gens pop while you're stuck in a "Whooooa maaaaaan" animation?
The times where this could happen right before the last gen pops and then 3 survivors teabag the killer for over 10 seconds while the last survivor opens the gate?
Seems balanced.
No, it is a real suggestion, clearly. That is what a mod thought given this merited a move to feedback and suggestions. Lol.
You can have it moved back to 4s
There are so many ways to fix this.
You are only thinking from a survivor stand point, but the killers need to gain some bonuses for ignoring the hook.
Here are some of my fixes:
If a killer downs a survivor that has been recently unhooked, the entity punishes him and he gets blinded for 5 seconds (even if he has the Lightborn perk). The downed survivor makes no pain grunts also gets a massive crawl and recovery speed boost while also being able to recover while crawling (not fully recover though). I believe that's quite enough to make the killers stop tunneling, BUT, they need something in return.
Whenever a survivor gets unhooked, the other survivors left that didn't participate to the rescue get punished by the entity, so they become oblivious for a couple of seconds. This would incentivize the killer to move away from the hook in order to surprise the other survivors, and will also incentivize survivors to want to go for unhooks since otherwise they will be put in a scary situation, or they could just hide in lockers for the duration, which will slow the gens, which is still a good trade for the killer.
lol. lmao
First define recently unhooked, I am assuming conspicuous actions nullify that time correct me if im wrong,
What distance would be not participating? What action would be not partipating? Oblivious for a couple seconds? First a couple seconds not enough, second oblivious isnt bad but I'd rather see a bit more, blind oblivious and all the effects of being injured (bleeding and sound cues) without actually losing a health state for 30-60 seconds.
Conspicuous actions should nullify that ofc.
Well survivors already have the BT when they get unhooked, so let's add this effect on top of it, it could happen during the whole time they have the BT, so that's 15 seconds ? Let's make the tunnel protection 15 seconds as well.
That basically means that if the killer hits the survivor immediately after the unhook, he gets blinded, and not only that the survivor gets the movement speed from BT now, but he still has roughly 10 seconds of tunnel protection after the blind ends, so in case he gets hit again, the killer gets blinded again and the survivor gets to crawl faster and recover faster.
Not participating basically means you're not the one getting unhooked or the one performing the unhooking, no matter where you are. I believe about 20 seconds of Oblivious status to be decent.
Yesterday I had a few matches where me and my teammates all brought flans / party streamers, and the killer camped me and/or tunneled me or one of my teammates out of the game at 3-5 gens left. I used Off the Record but it didn't do anything really. Even when I bring DS, with the 3 second stun it doesn't really help. It is an incredibly frustrating experience, which really makes me not want to play the game anymore.
The killer gets a lot of points anyway, and with 1 person gone that early, the game is an easy breeze for them. The whole thing is very annoying and frustrating for the entire team, especially the survivor that got tunneled out of the game early (sometimes even coupled with a Mori, which disabled counterplay, like flashlight saves, and DS). Killers can do that with no consequences for them. It tilts the matches heavily in killer's side. Nothing I can do against that.
P.S. I originally posted this under "discussions", not "suggestions", 'cause I know that BHVR doesn't give a rat's ass about us complaining about camping and tunneling. The last Midchapter made it easier for killers to do that, which tells a lot. I just wanted to discuss this. A mod moved the topic to "suggestions".
