"it’s time to give killers different speed/range to lunges"
This is not a good idea. It has been done before, some people here might remember when Huntress and Hag had shorter lunges because of their movement speed.
It got changed for a reason.
I do say that Nurse needs her short range lunge back since she can literally blink through stuff. Nurse was respected because you had to literally blink on top of a survivor. Now you can blink 3 steps away and still hit a survivor. That drives me up the wall more than it should but it does.

It was stated in the BHVR twitter news a couple of month ago.
68% is actually a lot. Ideally the game should be balanced around 50% oder 2 k.
If I bust my ass for a 2k every match, I would never play killer again. 68% still isn't 75%, which would be an average of 3k's every game. So there is some killers who can get 3k's per match more than 2k's but some can only get 2k's. If its like that, that's balanced. A killers' skill matters. Trying to make it so no matter what a killer does, he/she can only get a 2k wouldn't be worth playing killer then.

Spoken like a true survivor. You can't get pressure on a swf with comms. 'He's over here, ok work the gen'. Oh he overcommited he was only supposed to chase for 10 seconds then run to the next gen to get 'pressure' and chase him for 10 seconds while the guy you just left goes back to the gen. "Well you need to end chases quickly". I do a lot of times only to hear "waa your spirit is OP cheating nerf her waaa". Ok.
Edit: You know what brings great pressure against altruistic groups? Camping and tunneling. Brings great pressure.
Survivor main or just a survivor? I'm usually called a killer main on here xD Glad I can get people to say both xD Nah, I play both sides. If you CAMP first hook, don't complain about gens at all. If you do not chase people off of gens, thats on you. Just like if survivor's don't do gens because they ######### around with the killer too long and all die, they can't complain about killers being op and top it all off, if you chase someone for 4 minutes straight, don't ######### about gens as killer.

That one's nuts. I don't understand why it's five times more demanding on console... especially when it's already a difficult enough achievement with 20. Meanwhile some killers' personal achievements are just 'press M1 to hit a survivor a few times.' Eesh. Good on you for getting it twice (or six times, all things considered.)
I'll always hated that achievement. If I ever had to do that achievement again, I would refuse xD just too hard once people start learning to side step the hatchets.
-
The 100 downs from 24 meters away as Huntress on PS4. It was abysmal. Had to do it again on PC but it was like 10 xD I was pissed.
-
Its the servers and latency. I keep getting matched against people who are from Peru, Cambodia and even Columbia and you can tell it when they hit you after you throw a pallet and take 2 steps. They need to keep regions closer together if thier servers can't handle it. (I'm from the U.S.)
-
Its not gen rush, its a lack of pressure. People need to stop over commiting on one survivor then get mad when all the gens are done. You never stopped and checked on the gens that are actively being worked on. What, you think survivor's magically stop doing the objective just because you are chasing someone? Come on, People. Break off and check gens.
-
The grind is too much for veterans also xD
-
Lol I couldn't resist.
-
If the killer stands on the hatch, slightly towards the front, not only can you not jump in, the killer can still close it. A survivor camping the hatch won't do much if the killer knows where to stand.
-
The grind is getting ridiculous.
-
True counter is throw all pallets and pray to the Entity for your sins. He can be a merciful God that will let you live slightly longer.

on maps thats have lots of houses his power never feels effective, and takes way too much more time thats my problem with trickster.
His power is best used in an open area, thin halls or when they're hugging a wall. Mainly, Knives are good for places where they have to either dodge a bit before they can safely get somewhere or when they're in a thin hall or room that makes it hard to dodge them. Otherwise, it's always best to make them drop a pallet quickly then break it instead of trying to use knives over it. You're wasting knives and time that could be spent chucking at them when they run away from the loop shortly after breaking it.

Exactly, it works really well at those places
I've seen so many people try to play him like Huntress at short loops and sacrifice hits over blades. You played well! You definitely know the best times to use his blades.

I recorded 3 matches in a row while playing Trickster and these are the games I got.
In these 3 matches I got 12 hooks in each of them I believe
The first match I had a very easy games and the survivors had no clue what to do at all, but obviously this is because of the MM being broken, but doesn't change the fact I used the trickster properly.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2dK5ApxGxoI
The second match I had lots of fun and things were interesting but not much as been done either, but was still really fun.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4vXQy2IpVfo
The third match had the most effective survivors from the 3 matches, obviously far from being competitive survivors but they did more than the survivors from the previous matches, I hope you'll enjoy this one the most.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pV_i02I6fn0
This is rank 1 trickster main gameplay, hopefully this will make you change your mind on trickster and makes you want to play him more and learn him so we see more Tricksters overall.
Thanks for watching and I hope you enjoyed this rank 1 gameplay.
The best way to use the knives are just to use them mainly in the open or at extended loops to wear a survivor down. Never use them like Huntress trying to snipe someone around a pallet due to the 8 knives requirement. In the open, you can REALLY mess people up quickly lol.
-
But his overheat is like Bubba's Tantrum except its a bit harsher since you can get around the map at the same time compared to Bubba. I would decrease his overheat if he's actually using his chainsaw to sprint but that's about it. Otherwise, he's fine.

Billy is still very strong. His weaknesses were always pallets. Just don't use the chainsaw at short loops unless you're already on top of someone. He still gets 1-shots effectively and he still has great map pressure due to his mobility. You just can't spam his chainsaw anymore.

Give the Pig insta-crouch and stand with a 1.5 second charge to dash and she'd be great. Make it so if she's within 24 meters near a trapped survivor, the timer stops so she can't just follow a survivor crouched until their head explodes. Give her slightly faster crouch movement speed compared to GF and she would shine.

he already had a downside from revving his chainsaw and that's the slower movent speed
a good player can take so much advantage from that.
Yes but new players would get massacred then the new killers would get massacred as soon as they got to Rank 12 because they never learned anything. It's a double-edged sword. I use to love Billy's who didn't know any better and would rev but at the same time, getting any 1-shot down attack revved on your face on the hook was fun for no one.
-
Darkness is just nothing more than a hindrance to screw you over in a chase when you can't stop being chased already against certain killers. Its an annoying mechanic that blinds you almost due to the darkening of the new maps, making it hard to see where you're going. Hell, I've ran back into the killer a few times because it was so dark and I have problems with my eyesight in the dark. Im legally night blind and this just makes it bullshit.

It was a necessary change to prevent people from revving it at pallets while chasing people inevitably.

Blight is one of the few killers where I never felt like I got hit unfairly or he was unbeatable. He's one of the few that I enjoy going against no matter what map or match, it is.

I play him all the time and he's fine. You just can't spam his chainsaw every second. Would like to use it for distance a bit more with less overheat but its not a burden.

tbf I play killer more often than i do survivor and I in no way shape or form expect a free unhook or safety after being unhooked. I was just SUPER surprised to see face camping like legitimate FACE camping on this poor baby jakes first hook. Sure his totem was cleansed almost instantly and sure it was on a farm map which could be real irritating. I don't think he shouldn't be allowed to do it nor do i care if he chose too. I was just more or less shocked to see it happen to suddenly and quickly. I believe he was doing this to keep a three gen and kill someone off at the same time but in the end it didn't pay off for him as he got 3 E'd but I literally just felt super bad for both the doc and the Jake in this scenario
If you do it on first hook, the killer is only hurting himself. It is what I say and believe in but you can always get an unhook with BT if you trade. That's the thing.
-
All Deathslinger needs is a 1.5-2 second lock between raising and lowering his gun so he can't just snipe you with 0 reaction time for the survivor. That's about it. Spirit needs tells.

I've seen enough people complaining about Tunneling and Camping, that wasn't, to put little faith by such threads. However, I'm going to point a few things out, play the Devil's Advocate here.
- Survivors appear to want guaranteed safe unhooks, and nothing short will please them. Let's tell the truth an shame the devil, what you want is for there to be no risk of the Killer hitting the would-be rescuer and thus no reason for someone not to come get you. This leads us to the next point.
- Survivors want it guaranteed that their safety after being unhooked is secure, i.e. the Killer must not go after them immediately. Apparently the idea is someone else must be hooked first, regardless of what the recently saved Survivors chooses to do. Thus, when I find that same Survivor working on a Generator, I must (for some reason) go find someone else or I'm Tunneling trash. :) There are no exceptions, if the same guy gets gone after, the Killer is trash.
- Point one above is silly because you earn additional Blood Points and Emblem advancement for rescues. Why should you get rewarded for something that isn't dangerous. If the DEV were to "fix" things, as some of you insist on calling your desired changes, all Blood Points and bonus for going to rescue someone should be removed. After all, if you have it your way, there is no real risk. Why should you be rewarded beyond the value of having another Survivor helping you on Generators?
- Point two above is even sillier. You have teammates whose job it is to protect you from Tunneling. I'm not going to go into the LONG list of things they (and you) can do to combat the tactic, but it suffices to say it is silly for the Killer (whose role is built right into his/her name) is expected to protect you. If we were to "fix" things as you suggest, the unhooked Survivor would have to be rendered totally useless for whatever agreed upon time is appropriate. You can't work objectives, heal, etc. You shouldn't have collision or be able to open gates. You are a "ghost" effectively if the Killer can't affect you, then you should have ZERO ability to affect the match. Perhaps once you should vanish off the map and be unable to see what is going on until you "return." Does this sound silly? Why? It would simply hold you to the same rules you want to apply to the Killer.
- Killers aren't Bots. They are Players and they want the same agency as those playing Survivor. Removing some of the few choices they make will not help the game, but rather aggravate a growing problem.
- The DEV understand risk and reward. Why do you think they give both an audible and visual cue when someone gets unhooked. They do this so the Killer can make the BP and Emblem advancement earned by virtue of risk. The Killer might not respond to this Dinner Bell, but the option must be there. I am pointing the Dinner Bell out because it underscores that Camping and Tunneling are not accidental nor unintended consequences, but rather the chances and gambles Players on both sides take in playing the game. That is also who so many Killers, Perks, and Add-on(s) seem DESIGNED for ambush tactics. Variety is the spice of life and they do not want the game reduced to a ritualized looping dance anymore than they would want it reduced to ONLY Tunneling and Camping.
- Maps play a part too, in that some Killers who can't get around fast must make realistic choices about what they can and cannot do. A Spirit doesn't care about a big map, but a Myers does. How realistic is it for you to expect a Myers to promise you three hooks and never going after the same person twice (regardless of what the Survivor is doing)? Different Killers interact with different maps as the situation demands.
- SWF is a thing. It is always the elephant in the room. I see a lot of the SAME names in this thread moaning and groaning about Tunneling and Camping but I never see you talking about SWF and its 5th Perk (Comms). Why is that? You do realize that some Killers choose to Camp and Tunnel, or rather are forced to do so, because of SWF tactics right? The single most effective counter play to the 5th Perk (Comms) is to make the intelligence it provides moot. When you aren't moving around much it is harder for different people to get eyes on you. When they can't coordinate their movements and baiting you around, that aspect of their organization is gone. In addition, taking a 4v1 using Comms down to a 3v1 as rapidly as possible is often the only way to level the playing field. Pretending otherwise is being dishonest. When I see you being serious about mitigating the effect of SWF on the game, perhaps I'll take these threads as something other than hypocritical.
- There are rules, they are known. The tactics you are complaining about are legal and valid. Thus all this noise is really just an attempt to shame and grief Players, and affect the match from outside the match. What does that say about you?
- Every attempt, and I do mean EVERY SINGLE ONE, in the past has been hideously abused by Survivors. It was so bad that the DEV more or less gave up on it. Think about what that means in application; there are FOUR Survivors and thus the temptation to abuse and exploit any restraint placed on the Killer is 4x as likely. When the Killer Tunnels or Camps it is still entirely in the hands of Survivors as to how they will handle it. That is a key difference. Are there ways to change the game to resolve Tunneling and Camping which are equitable? Yes, but the game won't even remotely resemble what it is now. You would kill the Goose that laid the golden egg. You would throw the baby out with the bathwater. Get over it.
Pretty much this lol.
-
What people have to realize is not only is there 9 more perks total, if you're trying to get each character those perks, you have to grind out 9 more bloodwebs per character also. With there already being a ton of perks, you're looking at each year, becoming more and more impossible to get all the perks in the game for every character. Soon, you will NEVER be able to do it because the amount of perks will outweigh the amount of time you can put into the game.

@AVoiceOfReason Isn't the camera yank dependent on proximity? If you hit the center, almost no yank, hit the edge, hard yank?
I personally wouldn't mind fine tuning it. Everything can be fine tuned. My issue with removing it is that split second a survivor requires to readjust their camera is where most hits come from. You take that split second away, and they've already gained several meters of W holding. Hag is only 110%. That's a big deal.
Or, and this is just off the top of my head, remove the camera yank, but give Hag a speed boost when teleporting, similar to Wraith uncloaking. Just a second or two, at best. Something to make up for the loss.
@Rivyn The yank is the same even if you stand in the center. It forces your character into the Hag hard and that's why a lot of people get mad. It's the fact that their cheeks can urban evasion near the end and stand up to run and get yanked right back into the center. The speed boost would be a bit fairer since you still can get a hit but it's just not instantly a free hit, if that makes sense. It uses the momentum of your running to force you to run into her and since they gave her a normal lunge awhile back (she use to only be able to do a quick swing so if you was on the outer bit, you would still have to chase survivors down a little with her), she's pretty much impossible to dodge since the camera rotates to fixate on you no matter which way you turn.
At least with the speed boost, she could still get a hit after a second or two but you'd have to be smarter with your traps around pallets. Also, depending on what direction you place your traps, they force the character away from it. So if I put my trap while looking directly at a pallet, it'll yank me away from the pallet and towards the trap, giving you a hit and while you're disoriented with STBFL, you can actually double tap them before they can safely get back to the pallet. If I place it away by looking away, and head to the pallet, the yank is very little since I'm already running in that direction of the trap. Does that make sense?
-
I really enjoy Billy still. Yes, he has that damn CD but mainly, I use it to get across the map quickly for instant pressure on gens. That and those 1-hit downs feel really good when you can manage them. Last thing, I love the little rawr, he does when doing it. I just wish he had another when you use the chainsaw to down one.
-
@Rivyn said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2229633#Comment_2229633
Then make her 115% chase. The camera grab and hook placement is all she can really do. Look at hook spawn. If you made a radius where she couldn't trap around hooks, you could effectively destroy her web in half a map, easily, due to hooks spawning in tiles she requires to control.
You hinder her method of control, then she needs to be able to chase.
Besides one flashlight disables her in anyway, just like toolboxes used to do to Trapper.
The camera yank is very unnecessary but they could replace flashlights with a manual disarm over time like Trapper. She can still teleport and hit after a second or two. The camera yank is what causes her to get almost any hit since it rotates towards the direction of the survivor and doesn't feel good when you just barely touch a trap radius then just comes out swinging for a guaranteed hit. I'll even reason with you. Make the yank not so abrupt and harsh. Just enough to move a survivor but not enough to immediately force them into a wall or the Hag.

I am appalled and astonished that Hag is still flying under the radar.
There is absolutely nothing fun about, or fair about:
a) not even being able to simply WALK around the trial. WALK!!!!
b) once in a chase it’s basically “screw you” because there is absolutely NOTHING you can do as a survivor if you run anywhere near a phantasm trap. Not even TOUCH the damn thing. Just run near it.
c) the fact that there’s is anywhere from a marginal chance to NO chance to avoid a hit once Hag teleports.
And...
d) her hook camping by proxy BS that means you’re basically dead from your very first hook, unless magically gifted with the most competent teammates in the entire world.
There is absolutely NOTHING BALANCED about a killer whereby the determining chances of success against them is whether someone in the team happens to have the correct item.
I just don’t get it. How?! HOW?!
How has Hag been allowed to remain in the state she is in.
All she provides is a lopsided experience for the killer using her, and misery, frustration and a sense of pointlessness “why even bother trying...” for the survivors.
Please, why aren’t more of the community speaking up about Hag’s very real, very big problems?!
All she needs is for her traps to not yank you towards them. That's about it. That's how she can get a hit. Oh, and make it so she can't spam traps around hooks XD
