Lucky for Xbox players. Not for other platforms that play this game more than just the xbox base.

The official discord and streamer discords will always have people looking to play custom games on every platform (now a pointless thing to say because crossplay exists but hey). There are steam groups out there who do the same. Don't be scared to ask around and actually look some things up.

  • The Twins will be pretty ok when they actually get finished. Not amazing but not bad by any means. I want to like them but the cooldown when transitioning from Victor to Charlotte is so damn long. Everything they do is so clunky and slow. I haven't played them on live but they seem identical to the PTB version, with the exception being you can now literally hit survivors inside lockers with Victor which is kind of overpowered.

  • Survivor POV chase music is playing for every killer that has unique chase music. Obviously with Billy, P Head and Myers this doesn't matter because they both have the same track on both sides, but with every other killer they have the survivor-POV track. I am literally at a loss for words about this one, I have no idea how you manage to switch it for every single killer. Like I'm legitimately impressed that they managed to produce a bug so bizarre and so incredibly unrelated to literally everything they touched this patch.

They mean "randomly," you can just be walking along and suddenly it's on cooldown.

It's guaranteed to happen when you chainsaw a pallet, you have to tap rev to make it start to go down again. And it will occasionally start to increase whenever you finish sawing.

Keep in mind this patch has reduced Legion's Frenzy speed boost to zero, that drops Legion to at least Twins tier.

Wait Legion now run at 115 in Frenzy in this patch? LMAO now they quite literally don't have a power. BHVR what are you even doing over there...

  • I still don't know how you and others on here find so many survivors like this that you're comfortable generalising and insulting that entire half of the playerbase on the forums almost daily. I see a survivor group like this maybe once a week, tops. And they aren't even bad, they'll get salty but honestly who cares? Why do you and so many others care so much that someone sent you an angry message over a videogame? They have a right to express themselves in this way if they want to, and you even have the option of completely blocking what they say. Yet you keep your messages on and continue to complain about receiving them.

    ?????

  • Blight. 3 Reasons why Blight is the best:

    • Go speed
    • Go very speed
    • Whack people with a cane

  • Because queues are faster. That's literally the only reason why you should push for high ranks

  • Yep, that's a new bug. Doctor, Oni, Demo, Blight, every killer with unique chase music has the survivor chase music.

......Once again, I literally have no idea how this happened

I’m on my phone so it wouldn’t let me. Stop overreacting, it’s not like you couldn’t simply scroll past my post.

Holy ######### all I said was that bugs should be reported in the bug section on the forums and you took offense and told me to stop over-reacting. Who's the one that's really over-reacting here? Because looking at your previous response to another guy's comment it definitely seems like it's you

  • Don't make a post in general discussions about this, put it in the bug reporting section.

  • I'm not even shocked at BHVR anymore this is just sad at this point. Like I actually feel bad for the art and sound team putting all this hard work in and then their work being completely butchered with a ton of bugs or badly designed gameplay mechanics. Every single time.

Nice mitigating circumstances you have created for yourself, but the scenario is: 1 gen is done, everyone is dead, the hatch is closed, you are slugged, enjoy

And now lets do that about 3 matches in a row

That's a nice scenario you created too, but that almost never happens either. Even if it did happen I wouldn't care, because I'm not that sensitive to things that a stranger does to me in a videogame that me and everyone else will forget about in 5 minutes.

  • @BioX said:

"If anything to me getting bmed is funny because i already know i'm gonna down them in like 10s max. Why do people get upset and BM?"

How you cannot see it after a sentence like that is beyond me.

The point is obviously not the muppets who BM and then get punished for their own stupidity, its those who taunt you while you cant do anything about it.

I wonder how much you would enjoy being slugged and a killer just headbanging over you and just wait for you to bleed out

Idk about you but I find headbanging killers to be hilarious. And if they wanna BM like that after I ran them around for 12 gens' worth and they want to slug me on the floor like that, I've won at that point.

  • On the forums? Oh hell yeah they do. Personally I don't care about it in the slightest. It's so tame and inoffensive compared to anything else I've seen people do or say in other online games. I also think it's mad funny seeing a teenager click a flashlight at a serial killer who's trying to sacrifice them to an all-knowing tentacle god in the sky.

  • Remember Hangman's trick? They did try to make a new perk that's powerful in the PTB, it gave 16m of aura reading around any hook. Yes, it was busted, but then in the live build they went and completely overnerfed it and it's now back in the ever-increasing pile of trash. They got our feedback and went way overboard, and they've done this so many times that I actually want perks to be underpowered in the PTB and on release because that means they at least have a chance of becoming decent later on.

And also reminder that they thought gearhead and coup de grace were too powerful in the PTB and they needed a nerf before they came to live...

  • It could be a hitbox/server issue, or you're aiming wrong and I'd suggest getting closer to survivors before you start vomiting. Plague has been notoriously buggy since release. Seems like there's something wrong with her in literally every single new content patch. This poor woman can't catch a break these days.

Okay well I get where your coming from but I don't know why people/survivors are so against having one or two easy killers to play or use, I don't see where it's inherently wrong to have a killer with a power that's easy to grasp and easy to understand and generally more forgiving in both play style and experience.

There's nothing actually wrong with having killers like Spirit and Freddy, I'm just not a fan of them and think, imo, they would be liked a lot more and I would play them if they had something interesting below the surface because right now they don't.

  • @JPLongstreet said:

Just what solos need, another self-inflicted wound. I see this from time to time and cannot understand why it is being done. Only helps the killer.

Because taking risks in a video game is exciting and fun? And when it does work it's a really good feeling. It's so boring playing by the books all the time, what's life without a little risk?

  • @Mr_Lemon said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1784175#Comment_1784175

I wouldn't totally say that someone who has been playing freddy for a long while is obviously is gonna be better and know how to utilize his kit more than say someone who's only been playing him for a few days, there is somewhat a way to play him and there's always a mix up with snares and pallets so I wouldn't see he's super dumb and takes no skill because like all killers there is tricks and technical things you will pick up.

Honestly I can't think of a single trick or interesting bit of tech I've found with new Freddy. Believe me I've tried but I don't think there is a single interesting quirk with his power. There is a way to play him that may need a bit of learning but it's such a simple playstyle that has almost no variation to it. Like for example I can easily tell who's a good Demo, or Blight or Billy etc, not just if they're a good killer player in general. I can't do the same with Freddy players. They're all the same. It's the same with Spirit, I can't tell with her either, they all just blend together because their playstyles are very one-dimensional and have nothing interesting for players to express themselves with. At least imo.

  • Old Freddy was overall meh without the right build and playstyle, but he was definitely unique and had a cool concept for a power that just needed something else to be added to it.

New Freddy is a mess of cookie-cutter killer mechanics with no kind of significant drawback or significant strengths that give him any identity or anything interesting. You don't need to think about any kind of weaknesses or drawbacks, you don't need to learn anything or adapt to any kind of playstyle or exploit strengths you just play him without thought and it works. It's so ######### dull and boring.

So yeah I wouldn't mind old Freddy back tbh.

Ok, I've seen a lot of people talk about Wraith. Here's my question.

How bad would it be if him Cloaked was fully invisible? I mean hell, Spirit turns fully invisible, why can't he? He's still got the super long uncloak animation to get through, giving them plenty of time to escape.

The uncloak animation doesn't give them enough time to escape unless they're at a pallet or literally hugging a window before they see you uncloak. If a survivor doesn't know I'm there until I start uncloaking, I get a free windstorm lunge at them unless they have sprint burst or something, which you can easily bait out and then just catch up while still cloaked. Literally every first hit would be a free hit for Wraith, and he already gets a lot of them.

I don't want Wraith to be buffed to be more stealthy and have that annoying "hit and run" uninteractive playstyle to be the meta. I'd rather he get increased movement speed and give him a more aggressive playstyle because that's how I like playing him, and a few others like this style the most too, it's definitely the most fun to play against too imo.

Except she holds it and your forced to dodge side to side repeatedly in an attempt to dodge, so you're not getting any distance whatsoever. If you walk forward straight instead, she gets a free hit.

No matter what, if there isn't any nearby cover or loops with high cover, the Huntress just has to hold her hatchet, gain distance and gets a free hit. It's not as bad as Deathslinger's instant scope on you, but at least he doesn't negate pallets entirely.

You're not "forced to dodge from side to side repeatedly" because if you dodge less and keep moving forward while she's got her hatchet out she loses a lot of distance on you. And yes, when she has it fully charged it is as fast as slinger's projectile, but Huntress has her arm held high and makes a grunt noise when aiming the hatchet, which are 2 massive signs saying " I am going to throw this hatchet so get ready", giving survivors a clear indication of her power. Deathslinger has literally nothing to prepare a survivor to make a move. He walks forward at 110 speed with his gun lowered, and will shoot you literally before you can react to any change in animation or sound. That's what makes it feel so cheap and BS.

  • @Sonzaishinai said:

    Buff them all

    Nerf them all

This is the only right answer tbh.

  • Have you been on the forums much? The amount of people I see say legion are underrated, Deathslinger is "a worse Huntress", and the ######### ton of "kIlLeR sTrEsSfUL SuRvIvOr So Ez" and "BHVR fix genrush pls :(" posts would make my opinions pretty damn unpopular on here

  • - Legion should be removed from the game or completely reworked. Such a trash excuse for a killer.

    - Blight is the best killer in the game. He's not quite the strongest, but he is absolutely the best designed killer BHVR have made and should use him as the standard for all their killer designs.

    - Deathslinger is the 4th best killer in the game and much better than Huntress

    - Killer is not any more stressful than survivor, which is also not stressful in the slightest.

    - Haddonfield and Ormond are not the most survivor sided maps in the game, Fractured Cowshed is.

And finally, genrushing does not exist.

  • I like how simple the game is. Nothing in this game is complicated or mechanically difficult to understand and use, and that does contribute very much to its addicting nature and its relatively large playerbase. It's very intuitive to know what you're supposed to be doing in this game and that's kinda neat imo.

That and the sound and visual design lately has been pretty incredible. While I might hate the gameplay of characters like Deathslinger, Pyramid Head, and maps like Midwich etc, their visual and sound design of these killers and maps are ######### fantastic.

  • Deathslinger takes the cake I think. He is just a dumb killer that I have no idea how he even got through testing in his current state and into the game, same with pyramid head. Who approved of his design, seriously? And how did the Devs intend for us to play him? Maybe they wanted players to use him to hold angles and such which would explain some of the add-ons that increase movement speed or reduce terror radius while aiming down sights. But that's obviously not how he's played. It's just aim, tap M2 then tap M1 to shoot and wow! You got a hit that the survivor could do literally nothing about! How rewarded do you feel knowing that you can win every chase without caring in the slightest about what the survivors do to try and counter you?

  • No matter what game, no matter how you play, there will always be a few people that wanna flame you. And if you don't like it, hide your chat and profile comments and you'll never have to see them again.

  • @FrostySeal said:

Why nerf we'll make it? Its not even a meta perk, let alone an amazing perk. It's decent enough, but nerfing it to 45 seconds would kill the perk and place it in the garbage tier perks right along with perks like gearhead and coup de grace. Using SWF as an excuse to nerf it is bad excuse, I've gone up against quite a few SWF groups and I'm 100 percent sure that 98 percent of them weren't even running the perk.

I think they're being sarcastic, their post is a joke-ey reference to the reasoning behind the Pop nerf. A solid joke in theory, but the execution wasn't very good imo.

  • Breaking news: playing good characters in a video game is more fun than playing bad ones. More at 11.

I dunno if you are serious or not, cause Hell knows so many people are serious when they suggest exactly this when it comes to Caleb.

And it's such bloody nonsense. Cause y'know, stop trying to apply the SAME TACTICS to EVERY KILLER especially if their mechanics call for a change of plan?

Seriously, you people try to force the same stale gameplay (looping and juking) on EVERY KILLER and get your panties in a twist when it doesn't work out.

Deathslinger is NOT meant to be engaged unless it's ABOLSUTELY unavoidable.

Just like you should break LoS against GF or Michael, but instead you run from them through the open fields and wonder why you get exposed and T3 pops.

You know, with how many people in this community are unwilling to shake up their MO you'd wonder why the Ft13 game didn't fare better, copyright shenanigans aside.

You say the way to counter Deathslinger is to avoid them at all costs and hide, and you still can't accept the reasons why people think he's a horribly boring killer to play against..

  • Give them maybe 2 more years and they'll fix it, they're still finding out any other ways they can mess up Billy's camera. It'll take some time but they'll get there with the Nurse bugs.

  • ######### Deathslinger.

Ur missing the point, being a good killer and not making a big mistake while survivors make a mistake and it's an easy win that's not the point though. Shots not registering, going trough survivors and not damaging them that's the problem

The hitbox is incredibly small so you are probably missing, I haven't had much of an issue at all with slinger's projectile. If you're trying to do the whole "insta-ADS" gamer move you need to not move your mouse when you go for the quickscope or you will likely miss because you over-corrected your shot. What's probably happening is you missed and then the survivor ran into the chain line a split second later so it looks like it went right through them...if that makes sense.

  • Yeah it's those darn entitled survivors' faults! As a killer main I am way too oppressed and stressed while playing this game, so I will also come to the forums and make a generalized insult to over half the playerbase because they literally all run ds and unbreakable and t-bag everyone, right? That's why the queues are so bad after all!

  • Midwich is an abomination and should be removed from the game.

    That is all

  • You "can't believe the pyramid head patch made it to live"? I absolutely can, anything can make it into a game when you don't test it beforehand.

  • @JesseJH28 said:

Wait, what bugs are we talking about? Genuine question, cause Billy plays nice and smooth for me

Are we playing the same game? Or did you now play Billy much in 2019? Billy has been horrible to play for nearly a year. Not exactly super buggy but not fun in the slightest. And BHVR aren't doing anything about it, they think it's fine that he has such horrendous animations and camera that they decided to butcher for no reason. They really need to stop touching things that didn't need to be touched because all they do is break them even more.

  • @CornHub said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1778120#Comment_1778120

The devs never intended for survivors to be able to do that for reasons idk. It's nice to look at which is kinda entertaining.

They never intended for a lot of things, which is why they always massively overcompensate with changes that usually kills the experience slightly more and more each time they do it.

  • Phantom saws and hitboxes are still a massive problem that they still haven't fixed in over 4 years, yet they found the time to kill his animations and camera, and give him a bunch of unnecessary fluff and add-ons that turn him into a joke killer. Smooth, BHVR. Very smooth

I second this, played them for a while on the PTB and loved them. People saying they are weak have either not actually tried to improve with them or are just people that haven’t played the PTB and are parroting the negative perceptions other people have about them. But hey, that’s the community with every new Killer so it’s no surprise.

So did you play them against good players or just the usual PTB lot that aren't taking it seriously and are also completely mismatched because there is no Matchmaking? Because hexy said they were S Tier and he was playing against mostly rank 12s, and you don't need a power at all to beat bad players. Unless their proposed changes come to live on release, even in an unfinished state, The Twins are gonna be pretty terrible.

  • Would've been ok on Huntress....if they didn't nerf it. It's now only going to be 60% and not 100%. So nah, it's another trash perk to be added to the ever-increasing pile. It's not even gonna be funny on killers like pig and Demo, because they're going to fix that by the time it releases, and it's not even gonna be far enough to be a fun thing to use on Wraith. Guess it was too strong in their eyes. In all fairness they did nerf gearhead, so coup de grace in its PTB state must've looked absolutely game-breaking.

  • Father Campbell's chapel and coal tower are the last 2 good maps left tbh. Autohaven maps have been a mess for a long while ever since they decided to touch them. Pale rose and grim pantry are *almost* decent, but the damn piers man, they're so dumb.

Midwich and Hawkins are by far my least favourite maps. So much blocked line of sight and traversal, gameplay boils down to running in a circle until the killer is near, then you run into a room and loop a pallet that cannot be mindgamed, and then you rinse and repeat until the 6 good pallets are gone and you die. And as killer it's even worse. So incredibly boring and terribly designed. The Game also has similar problems, but there are 4 times the amount of super safe pallets. How anyone can think that The Game is a killer sided map is beyond me.

Honestly they would improve the game if these maps were deleted from the map pool, they're that bad.

  • Actually as of the new Macmillan update you can't even go up the tree to trigger Balanced Landing. Because no fun allowed, I guess.

Unless they added it back recently which I HEAVILY doubt.

  • The amount of times I've commented on here saying I want an FOV slider...that's literally the only thing I want in DbD at this point , I couldn't care less about if they never fix Billy anymore he's dead to me. But the FOV is a universal thing and I'm seriously considering stretching my res for killer because I'm sick of it being so abysmally low.

Such an easy QoL change that they will never make because it's just that.

  • Honestly if I've managed to take the killer on a grand tour of the entire map and they want to throw the match to facecamp me and go out of their way to make sure I die, I've already won at that point lol.

  • @voorheesgt said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1773732#Comment_1773732

No. Even without sweaty Survivors gen speed is too fast to rotate through 12 hooks without tunnelling.

If what you're saying is true that means that a killer should be able to find someone, start and end the chase within 40 seconds consistently. Even at that pace you'd only have 1 kill with no gens remaining.

    Do math

You ever tried slugging? Much better than tunnelling if you know when to do it. I don't think there has been a single post in this thread mention that they could always slug for pressure instead, but everyone's defaulted to defending the reason why they tunnel survivors, something that doesn't even need defending anyway lmao.

So if you tunnel, try learning when to slug instead, you can get a lot more pressure that way

  • Basically it relies on totems being up at the end of the game, and since there is literally no way to realistically tell if every totem has been done on the map unless you did it yourself or you're in a SWF, your time trying to complete the totems and get NOED out of the way was time wasted because it's unlikely that you got all the totems.

You also don't know at all if the killer has NOED to begin with, so you may have gone around cleansing all the totems for nothing, which isn't a good feeling at all especially considering that your teammates will probably not get any gens done as per usual.

And then when it does actually comes into play and you're on the receiving end it feels cheap because it comes out of nowhere and there was no way to anticipate playing around it. Much like a 99'd tier 3 Myers or GhostFace 99.

At the end of the day though, it's not a good perks and generally you can kind of anticipate NOED if the killer is bad, because good killers will know to run a perk that actually helps them win games before all gens are done, not give them pity points at the end with a cheap instadown.
