  • "Ah, sorry, we nerfed Pig again and that changed the placement of the rocks on Yamaoka Estate maps to favour spawning right next to the killer shack. Hope you understand, this was unavoidable with our spaghetti code literally held together by paperclips and string we just really wanted to nerf Pig, as she was overperforming and was in the top 3rd of killers for kill rates."

  • Play the game, because that's the only way you can. I usually try to at least get BBQ on a killer before I play them, otherwise there's no point to playing them. I've only really had trouble playing Huntress, Blight and maybe Deathslinger for the first time. The rest of the killers are pretty easy and intuitive to play, you'll get the hang of them after a few games just keep at it.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/207821/the-fact-that-the-devs-are-disabling-bloodlust-illustrates-how-survivor-sided-they-are

End came collapse. Insta heals no longer insta. Styptics no longer heal. Toolboxes destroyed. Survivors lose add ons now for no apparent reason. Yep. Everything just hurts killers and helps survivors, uwu.

Let's not mention most of the maps getting reworked to be better for killers, and more dead zones on average on autohaven and Macmillan maps. Do some people even read patch notes lmao.

  • @Eleghost said:

depends really. They will need to address infinites created by lack of bloodlust. I haven't gotten around to killer yet to test it out for myself.

There are no infinites. Except in very rare circumstances like the basement house on badham and Haddonfield against Huntress. That's the only one that exists and even that isn't a true infinite. You will eventually catch up. As for the rest of the game you do not need bloodlust as a killer.

  • Looks like someone got bodied by a blood warden play.

  • I actually forgot bloodlust was so glitchy on console. I'm glad they're finally taking a risk though and disabling a pretty big mechanic to try and tackle a problem (even though we've all known the problem with bloodlust and it's the maps. We've been saying this for how many years now?). It was only needed for the very dumb setups that could potentially spawn on some maps and if this weekend exposes those issues in the plainest English that even BHVR can understand then I'm all for bloodlust being gone for good.

    At 33:35

    https://youtu.be/Je06f1lkgxo

Basically, the devs are aware that blights POV is a little lower than it should be but fixing that will require a ton of work because they have to change all the animations for the first person view for that and they have to fix other things before that unfortunately (e.g animations for the new killer).

So i expect maaaybe this mid chapter or even the next chapter (after charlotte and victor).

I'm not a developer but I really don't see how it's gonna be THAT much work to just shift a camera and viewmodel upwards. Unless they're using an extremely wonky system for making viewmodels it can't take them that long to fix right? I'm kinda curious to know how they do these first person anims though so I can better understand why it's a lot of work. Would also give me some insight into why Billy's camera and anims are so scuffed. But I don't think they can share that info.

  • Imo he's more a clunk of death than a hunk. And really spammy, it kinda made me hate him even more now that I know I can just spam my power with no penalty. The Doc changes did the same thing and it killed my enjoyment of the killer.

  • @DemonDaddy said:

Don't forget the ones exclusive to the slower killers.

I imagine the house of pain on badham and Haddonfield are literally infinites now with the right window spawn against Deathslinger and Huntress...

  • It's one of two things:

    - they're not getting good playtesters or the devs that are being listened to the most have little experience with how this game is actually played. And the ones that do actually know how to play aren't being listened to as much.

    - When we play on the PTB we're playing a build of the game that has literally not been tested beforehand by anybody. They just wanted to shove this out there and can just say "it's a PTB guys! It's going to be a little buggy and is subject to change!" in response to the glaringly obvious bugs and features that shouldn't have even made it to the test build.

  • I think there are too many posts in feedback and it's kinda bloating up to the point where ,if the Devs were to actually use this section of the forums for suggestions or feedback to their game, they'd have to dig through a lot of posts to get to the good ones. This obviously isn't the fault of the mods, it's just what happens when there are so many people on one forum. Would be interesting if it were possible to merge a bunch of threads together about one specific killer, or feature that had similar suggestions but that would take forever.

And I think another reason why people don't look at the feedback threads more when they get moved is because it shows up as "closed" in big red letters with 0 replies. Idk if something could be done about that.

  • @OniWantsYourMacaroni said:

The twin changes are absolutely amazing and make me feel way more excited for the killer.

But why the hell do the devs think that Coup de Grace could be too strong????

The PTB version was already super extra meme tier :]

The fact that the increased search speed from appraisal only applies after opening the chest is ok but i absolutely don't like the change that you can only use 1 token per chest.

What people also forget is that the scratched coin and the cut coin offering makes it impossible to use all of your tokens which is pretty stupid.

Reminder that they thought gearhead was too strong in its PTB state and the active timer was reduced by 10 seconds. Coup de grace must have looked game breaking to them in comparison.

Maybe it's an toggle command and it might turn shape's blood lust on.

I like your way of thinking but that's not how coding works lmao.

  • If you do that, you would need to buff her other aspects I think. Like the charge time, movement speed, cooldown etc. It could make for an interesting mechanic that would be down to pure guesswork from both sides but eh...i don't think this is the way to go about it. Her biggest issues are that survivors don't have any info against her, not that Spirit has too much info against the survivors. I'd rather they made a big change to something on the survivor end than the Spirit's, and you give her some tiny adjustments to her numbers to compensate for the survivor "buff". Like she has the phasing sound back like before when it was bugged, but they slightly increased the duration of the phase to compensate for that change. I think that would be better.

  • Blight is VERY fun to play against. It feels like I'm playing against an old Billy with double engravings, but instead small mistakes will cost me 1 health state instead of both. Against a good blight it's very tricky to learn where to move so he can't immediately whack you in his rush but that's part of the fun. And you don't feel cheated or like there wasn't anything you could do, it's entirely your fault. As long as you're aware of his hitbox jank anyway, I'd rather they allow him to move his camera more and then decrease the size of his hitbox just to make it look a little better.

Really don't like ruin+undying+tinkerer though. If people say that they hate Blight it's likely because of this build and it's pretty dumb on him.

  • These are literally everything that we've been saying Wraith should have for the past 3 years so your suggestions aren't stupid. Also...

I wouldn't want yellow windstorm to be base kit. I want them to increase the speed that Wraith moves while cloaked, and windstorm also slows you down while uncloaking. I wouldn't also want that downside to windstorm. It should be between yellow and green move speed, and then windstorm gets reworked into something else.

  • @AggressiveFTW said:

I think it is a funny thing about the DBD community. Before they announced that they were testing how it would be if they disabled bloodlust, many were saying just remove it already, it's an old mechanic. Now when they have announced everyone is worried lol.

It's because dumb structures and setups still exist in this game, and bloodlust is a bandaid fix for these dumb structures much like how old ruin was a bandaid fix for bad map design. You don't need to gather data to work that one out, it's completely unnecessary. Remember the old days of abandoning a chase the moment a survivor entered a main building or used a god setup? (cowshed's infamous Shack window > truck loop > long wall > truck loop which can still spawn to this day for some ungodly reason) well unless you're nurse or probably Deathslinger you're gonna be doing that again this weekend.

I'll say this now, I agree that bloodlust is a dumb mechanic. It shouldn't be in the game but at the same time it's necessary in a way because their maps are still terrible.

  • I can see why they're turning bloodlust off, but that's the thing: we already know why bloodlust is dumb but also kind of necessary due to horrendous map design. I wish I didn't have to go back to literally instantly abandoning chase the moment someone got to a main building if I'm a standard M1 killer like pig or Myers but that's what we're gonna have to do again. Without bloodlust these main structures and some setups become so dumb on some killers, and bloodlust is yet another Bandaid fix they added to the game to try and solve these problems.

And they're also relying on gathering data again. What data they're gonna gather from this or expect to be useful...I have no idea...but we already know what the problems are with this game and with bloodlust. BHVR just won't take our word for it unless they have an excel sheet to confirm everything that we say.

  • The effect looked stupid anyway, i hate the way it blurs the screen.

For survivor, however...oh boi get ready for people running object sprint burst on Midwich, coldwind offerings and playing every main building with lithe and BL.

Hope you all know how to play Blight.

It’s harder to anti-loop with those Killers, especially with Nurse. They also don’t have good anti-stealth (if they did, it got nerfed after Survivor whining).

I’m not saying that Survivors don’t hate the anti-stealth portions of his power, but that it’s not the main reason for the all the hate, especially since his rework.

It's weird though, because if you don't take into account his add-ons his anti-loop didn't improve all that much. The extra range is nice, but not much changed except his difficulty. He became 10 times easier and it was more spammy and that was kind of it. I think people just didn't know what doctor could do so when he got the rework and became very easy to play, and therefore more popular, more and more people started to hate him.

    Find Survivor.

    Chase them until they're down.

    Hook them.

    Repeat.

It gets me consistently above 24k BP, so i'm fine with it, don't care about rank.

Tbf you main wraith and he's pretty good at doing that without much deviation from that formula. That's why he's so good for new players. It's his most fun playstyle too imo, not a fan of the whole hit and run thing. Run endfury and my basic gameplan with Wraith is brute force every single pallet and down until I either win or lose and it's kinda fun.

  • @Heartbound said:

I'm stupid aggressive with defensive perks, or I play defensive killers.

I'll kneel next to your killer when he goes to break a pallet, I'll bodyblock around corners to give you time to escape. I'll click the flashlight. This is a no hooking zone. You want to hit me? You're approaching me? Well then. Come. No. Guess I'll repair this gen for a bit.

I heal fast or die trying.

I play Trapper when I'm seriously playing and I drop traps in spots I know survivors frequent. If you disarm it I don't care, I don't even walk over to pick you up out of the trap unless I'm not occupied. I'm patrolling the map and constantly on the move.

I don't chase with Hag anymore though.

I also sound like this when my carefully laid plans come back to bite me in the butt.

Slightly unrelated but Haachama is probably the only person on this Earth that could potentially cook something more disgusting than DbD's chilli made of human body parts.

Quite honestly waylay, I didn’t know that until tonight. I Guess that’s what’s been happening then.... maybe it shouldn’t be this way.

The thing is, it sometimes doesn't even work properly and it'll just play the sound in the 24m radius anyway. I really don't know how they make sound so inconsistent so often, and on a killer where sound is kind of a big deal for both sides it's pretty frustrating that it keeps happening.

  • @SnakeSound222 said:

He's strong, has decent anti-loop, and good anti-stealth. Survivors already hate the first two things on any Killer. Anti-stealth is just icing on the cake. You also have to play a little differently against him, another thing Survivors hate.

I see more survivors say they like more than they hate Blight, Huntress, Nurse, Oni...and correct me if I'm wrong but all of these killers have access to powers that can shut down loops. At least that's what I use their powers for...hm..and they're all near the top of a lot of people's tier lists which tells me that they're considered strong killers by the community. You know, I don't think all survivors specifically hate strong killers that have anti-loop. Maybe it's the power itself and how annoying that can be that survivors dislike?

For the record I don't dislike Doctor's chase power, and I think he's barely above average without good add-ons.

  • You just gotta take the bad with the good I'm afraid, just like any other game. The problem is, in DbD if you're playing survivor there's more bad than good so you have to savour the fun moments when you can.

So you are one of the guys expecting 4k every game? That should not be the case. I feel sorry for the survivors that face you.

Besides that, I think there is totally no reason to say someone should ignore the challenges because of his skill level. That's everyone's own decision.

Why shouldn't he expect to get a 4k every game? What's wrong with wanting to win every match? Some people are very competitive and that's what's fun to them so what's wrong with having high expectations of yourself?

Fair enough. I can only speak from experience, I don't play much Slinger or Pig, and I've never had much trouble with it as Ghostie - but that's probably just luck.

Against Slinger it's the only way survivors can stay alive for more than 15 seconds, and it's actually pretty damn good at doing that. And it's ridiculously good against Pig. In fact it absolutely kills her, I really wish her crouch wasn't detectable via spine chill, or as a general rule, the undetectable status effect cuts spine chill's range in half or something.

  • @NomiNomad said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1758004#Comment_1758004

Gotta be honest, comparing Coxcombed Clapper to pre-nerf Prayer Beads is an oof.

Wraith is still an M1 killer after that, and unless he's also using Ghost, his terror radius immediately starts up. Coxcombed Clapper does nothing but put him on par with Ghostface's stealth ability. You can easily counter Coxcomb the same way you can counter Wraith in general - loop the hell out of him and heal. Pre-Nerf Prayer Beads was ten times worse.

Also, I'd honestly say Spine Chill counters him more than anyone else in the game, other than maybe Myers.

No way, spine chill counters Deathslinger, Pig and GhostFace much more than Wraith. Wraith can find people easier than these killers because of his fast movement speed (assuming windstorm because why would you play him without it) and they don't get as much of a headstart on you.

  • Constantly screaming, his chase music is pretty obnoxious, snapping out of it is not much different to Deep wound in terms of tediousness but you do it slightly less than DW.

Idk he's just an annoying killer, and since he's designed to make you annoyed I don't mind it so much. His chase power is whatever on its own but with range add-ons and discipline it's rather disgusting, borderline broken and BHVR really need to take another look at some of his add-ons.

  • @Hoodied said:

If I am correct, I believe devs have thought about it before

They think about a lot of things...and we know now that their general thought process is "if related to game balance, fix least prevalent issues" and "if QoL improvement, add 1 every 6 months or so"

  • @UGWRayne said:

I dont feel its trash...its simple dont quit. Play the match and move on. Why DC anyway? Kinda childish actually. You quit because you didnt get your way. We all hate a specific killer but, it happens. Also others are right, now its 3 survivors doing 5 generators instead of 4 doing 5. Puts the survivors at a disadvantage immediately. Bitches DC. Just play.

You do understand what the OP is complaining about right? They're not talking about DCing during normal.matches, they're talking about DCing when all the killer and survivors want to do is farm. It doesn't even matter if they are at a disadvantage because they're literally not even playing the game.

But yeah, it's simple, just don't get found by the killer when other survivors are ratting you out, and constantly trying to farm with you 4Head, when it's up to the killer and the other survivors if you get to quickly leave a dumb farming match in the first place. Very cool advice.

I suppose the Early Game thing is not going to happen as long as we got slowdown builds like Ruin/Undying and Corrupt/Pop/BBQ unless all the slowdown stuff got reworked or nerfed into oblivion.

Man I can only dream of how good DbD would be if they managed to balance and overhaul the game so well to the point where slowdown perks could be nerfed into the ground and were no longer needed. Would improve killer gameplay so much more if that were the case.

It's asking for a lot but I can dream, damnit :(

  • @Ace_Ventura said:

Freddy IS overrated. People call him boring because he has a low skill ceiling, and has anti loop. Oni underused? I don't know, I see lot's of Oni's. I see more Oni's than Freddy's tbh.

Tbf killers with a low skill ceiling are the ones people find the most boring on both sides. Freddy, Clown, Legion, Spirit etc. There are very few people who say they actually main killers like these because there really isn't much to do or learn with them that isn't just shown to you in black and white.

  • 2k means 2 survivors escaped the trial. 2 survivors completed their objective of escaping, which means you failed in your objective of killing all survivors so that's a loss. There's no tie in a game like DbD imo, you either win or lose as killer, there's no in-between. The only exception would be if 1 survivor escaped via hatch at the end. But if 2 or more escaped through the hatch, or 1 or more escaped via the gates, that's an L.

  • Well if you wanted footage of good pyramid head mains you're likely not gonna find a good killer that doesn't switch targets, because a good killer doesn't commit too long to chases.

But Idk maybe Otz has some good PH clips, he's the only one that comes to mind.

  • All the rework really did was make him pretty annoying for both sides. Brought in a bunch of bugs, and made his power feel a lot clunkier and weird to use, and on the survivor end you're now treated to POTD spam and a dumb M2 into M1 that I still don't believe is fixed.

His chase music still slaps though, we'll always have that at least.

  • From experience I can tell you that a lobby of 4 Dwights is the furthest thing from precious as humanly possible.

  • Monitor, enduring, BBQ, spirit fury/slowdown of choice is what I like running on him. Monitor is great on high mobility killers in general (low-key broken on Hillbilly too btw), enduring is good for people who don't wanna care about pallets even less than you already should be caring. There really is no replacement for BBQ, it's such a perfect perk for him. And spirit fury, corrupt are 2 ok perks to use on him. The 4th slot is optional for me, I don't feel like he needs any slowdown perks if you're on top of your game, a lot like Billy, Nurse, Freddy etc.

  • Charging up an Oni lunge while falling down a hole only to bonk the top of the hole. I remember a clip of Scott doing this on badham a while ago and it was one of the funniest things I've ever seen. He looks like he ######### bonks his head as he's falling down the hole, it's so hilarious. And I know I've done it a few times as well. If anyone can find the YouTube video that has it reply on the thread with it, I'm currently looking for it right now too.

Edit: Found it https://youtu.be/plA3FNnd75o?t=174 I've done this a couple of times on Thompson House and it's the funniest ######### ever.

I'd rather there be no ranking system and no mmr. All mmr is going to do is force the best players to play as and against the same small sample size of top tier killers. I get having new players play against one another, but after a certain number of games or pips they should just be thrown into the general pool of players.

Honestly part of the fun in DbD is experiencing the absolute ######### show that is matchmaking at its worst. Half of my matches are such clownfests on both sides and that's when it's the most fun because you literally have no idea what to expect from each player you come across.

Yea sorry couldn't help it. I like those ideas though. But honestly all I want at this point is a christmas menu again for winter is it too much to ask?

  • If you wanna make it a truly BHVR event you'd get rid of about half of those ideas, throw the event cosmetics in the new rift before apologising the next day and spoonfeeding everyone 10,000 iri shards over the course of a week and hope they shut up.

  • Did that t-bag get to you so much that you had to make an entire post on the forums because you couldn't flame him in the post-game chat for tbagging you? That's actually hilarious

  • Sure, NOED is good in the endgame, but have you considered changing it for a perk that's actually useful and will help you win before the endgame even starts?

  • Well lucky for you Scott has a guide on Blight and I don't know anybody else who plays this game who likes this dumb drugged up idiot more than Scott does so I'd recommend looking at that guide. It'll help you more than anyone can on the forums where we can only type things and not have any visual assistance.

He is getting a camera adjustment soon, so hang in there until that happens (My best guess is he'll get it when the new chapter drops)

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/KGCS6MR7HICC/wraithbuild.png

This is the Wraith build I use when I'm in the mood to play Wraith. You can use any add on but you have to use "The Beast" - Soot when playing my way.

I run across the map at HIHG SUPEEDS and thanks to Distressing I'm both invisible and everywhere at once. This confuses the survivor. I hear the terror radius but no killer!

Bing bong! Hi there! If there's always a terror radius, there is no terror radius! You can't hide! You can't heal! You can't even crawl into dark grass to hide! Zoom!

That's actually not a terrible idea for a Wraith build, but one thing: Why bloodhound?! Everything else in your build is literally screaming at you to run coulrophobia! Bloodhound is literally not even a perk it does nothing (Maybe that's the point and this is a meme but I don't get it).

  • Pop/Corrupt, BBQ, Enduring, Nurse's/Spirit Fury with Windstorm and the 2nd add-on is entirely up to you. Swift hunt and bone clapper are 2 I'd probably go for. If I'm using pop I'll sometimes use green shadow dance to cut some time out of kicking gens, because kicking gens is usually a waste of time otherwise, but Wraith can actually use pop well with shadow dance. You can run up to a gen while cloaked, kick it and be right on a survivor pretty quickly without much time lost.

I almost always run endfury because as Wraith I'd like to not care about pallets as much as possible so my playstyle mainly consists of getting a quick first hit, instantly recloaking, following the survivor to a loop and trying to get them to camp a pallet. Then I uncloak and windstorm lunge my face into it and since I have enduring it really doesn't matter if I get stunned. On bigger loops you kinda have to play them normally because you can't really use his lunge on jungle gyms that well.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1749751#Comment_1749751

You are not bursting any bubble. It is well known that nurse is the best killer and also the most difficult to master. Look at any killer tier list; Nurse is always at the top. So why then, doesn't everyone play nurse? Because of the learning curve.

Sure she has a learning curve, but in the context of video games in general demanding a certain amount of mechanical skill from the player, it's pretty low. Were not exactly on the same level as something like sekiro, Melee Fox or Doom Eternal here, DbD is a very simple game and there's nothing wrong with that. It's a big reason as to why it's so popular.

And the main reason you don't see nurse often anymore is because people think she's not good anymore following the rework, and they can no longer spam blinks or rely on her completely busted add-ons anymore. The rework definitely made her a bit harder but honestly it didn't do that much.

  • @Stealth said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1749182#Comment_1749182

If you don't think nurse is mechanically hard, you clearly don't play nurse.

She isn't. You hold a button to charge a teleport and move in the direction you're looking based on how much you held the button, going through walls and other obstacles. What's so mechanically difficult about this? I do play/played a bunch of Nurse, and playing her was not difficult at all for me. I also remember watching critikal play DbD and he has the same opinion that Nurse was pretty easy to use. I'm sorry to burst your bubble by saying this but her difficulty is so incredibly overrated imo.

1 … 26 27 28 29 30 … 63
