  • Old lery's and Macmillan

Billy's pre-butchered camera and animations, both 1st and 3rd person. Seriously BHVR... why did you even do this...

I miss not having the archives in my face literally every waking moment I'm not in a match. Now it pops up in the postgame screen, when I open the game, when I select a role, when I load into a queue after a game....it's so awful.

    Old Freddy

You know what, I also miss old ruin skillchecks, I'm so bored doing gens now, and new ruin is just a dumb perk. Remember when they wanted to stay away from big synergies between perks? Yeeeah then undying and tinkerer happened...huh...

I'm still upset about Doc's chase music being gone since the Eternal Blight event and him losing his Exhaustion add-on. Just make it an Iridescent King exclusive effect since a new add-on would break the current formula. I loved getting Survivors to tier 3 and downing them faster than normal because they couldn't fall back on an Exhaustion perk. I want to do that again, but with my favorite Killer! If they need that perk to do well, then that's on them, not me.

He really doesn't need an exhaustion add-on on top of all the other stuff he has. Seriously his add-ons are ridiculous enough, he doesn't need yet another ridiculous add-on.

  • Eh I'd like these changes to moris

Cypress Mori stays the same, but is no longer a secret offering

Ivory Mori can kill 1 survivor after all survivors have been hooked at least once

Ebony Mori can kill 2 survivors after all survivors have been hooked at least once

That's honestly all you have to do to them and they're slightly balanced while still being strong enough to bring into your games.

It's really not given it slows your power to a crawl. It's stronger than no addons or the average addon, but it's far from even huntress's Iri heads.

You can outright shut that down unlike mori's and iri heads.

I don't think you've used tombstone piece before. That add-on is absurdly strong. You only need to kill 1 survivor with it and you've won. Tombstone piece let's you easily kill 2, and can sometimes get you 3 if you play right. It also doesn't slow you down like the full Tombstone does. It's broken and should absolutely be toned down or removed like all the other dumb add-ons.

  • The only way about this is to leave the guy on hook and slam gens, and hope you slam the correct gens or else you may have screwed yourselves even more. Or get lucky with a flashlight in a chest. Mint rag is a disgustingly broken add-on with this combo of perks that shouldn't be in the game (I was gonna say I'm surprised that it's still in the game, but so are iri head, moris, exhaustion add-ons and keys in their current state so it's not really a surprise with BHVR anymore is it?) Even if she wasn't using mint rag it would've still been nearly impossible to save properly, make your choice is so dumb on Hag

  • And in other news, water is wet.

  • If you could make them fun and give them good perks I couldn't give less of a ######### where the characters are from. But fnaf would imply we'd be getting yet another indoor map.

So...absolutely no. Please don't tell BHVR to make more indoor maps, I beg you.

It's because they'll eventually add it back so they still need to collect data or something. I'm obviously not a dev, but I'm assuming that's the only way they can collect data for MMR.

Again though, what would changing my killer in the pregame lobby make a difference to not being able to change it if I'm not getting matched with people close to my specific killer MMR? I don't see how it would make a difference unless MMR is actually enabled. There's no other reason as to why we can't change killers. I just hate the idea of MMR in general anyway, because there is literally no way to make an algorithm that determines how good a player is at this game.

  • Yep, and I also miss being able to level up killer bloodwebs while in queue or in a lobby. They said they're doing it to gather data for our MMR rank which makes no sense. It's not like me switching killers in the lobby is going to change my MMR for a specific killer. They've said so many times that MMR has been disabled, so I'm not getting matched up with people based on my killer specific MMR...what's the point of keeping it on? My brain can't handle so many BHVRisms man, it's been too much recently.

Haven't played as Demo yet but watched some videos and yeah, that guy is definitely too loud. I'm a fan of options so I think giving the option to adjust the Killer sounds would be great. It is possible though that the Devs could see these sounds as part of the balance for a given killer though...like they made Demo or certain others louder than usual on purpose, as a way to make it harder for the Killer to hear around them as a form of balance.

You're a fan of options? Oh you poor innocent thing, you're gonna absolutely hate DbD, a game with almost no options at all of any kind. It's 2020 and this game doesn't let you turn off antialiasing, have an FOV slider or even let you bind secondary keys for commands.

The problem is they can’t nerf his 1v1 that’s all the dude has. They’d have to buff his speed to be average if they nerfed his power imo.

Not really. You can buff and need several aspects of his power like I suggested. Nerfing his power only and then making him a 115 wouldn't be a good change imo, because then you'd have yet another killer with a meh, not-so fun to use power and default movement speed. He'd lose his identity. Changing him to be more engaging with his power while keeping his overall strength relatively the same and not making him a 115 is entirely possible.

  • @TheClownIsKing said:

Lol, this is like how I just die on Ormond.

I know it’s meant to be survivor sided, but most of my matches in this map the killer stomps hard.

On Ormond survivors still have to know the basics of looping and chaining tiles together effectively, it's not really a free win if the survivor doesn't know what they're doing unlike Haddonfield where your work is cut out for you by giving you 3 god loops in every house and a mind-blowing amount of fences.

Although Ormond does have those really weird Yamaoka tiles that I still don't know how to properly run as killer or survivor. I don't think anyone does lmao.

The advantage of 99 SB is the lack of environment activation requirement. Maybe counterbalance the effect by have its haste last 2.5 or 2 seconds instead. Just wanna be able to not be pigeonholed into the same perks.

Suppose cutting a second off the speed burst would make it more balanced. Yeah I like that idea! Not necessarily used to get to another loop but to extend the current loop or maybe make it to a junk loop nearby or make an L-T wall vault safe etc. Could be interesting.

  • I'm gonna shout my suggestion to the void once again:

Make slinger's gun increase in range and speed the more you aim down the sights. And then you make some other small changes like increase his reload speed or ADS movement speed or something. After 1-2 seconds, the survivor (if they're close enough) and Deathslinger will both hear a small click to know that the gun is at max range and projectile speed.

With this change, you could still very easily pop-shot people who are opposite you hugging a loop, or a small distance in front of you etc, but you would have to think about your movement, both as the killer and the survivor, if you want to hit someone at range.

The suggestion I see of adding a cooldown to his ADS doesn't solve anything. The constant fear of him shooting you instantly with no reaction will still be there, he doesn't need to spam ADS to have that free zoning. That'll also just make him weird to play, imo.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1775064#Comment_1775064

That is a very good argument, but ppl already do that by 99 sprint burst.

99ing sprint burst requires you to use up sprint burst, wait 39 seconds and then after that point you literally have to be constantly running and not doing gens, healing, anything and then you get to use it. Lithe would turn into that, but you're able to do it on demand without any setup, all you'd need is a window.

I don't think it's too bad of an idea. Maybe have it activate as normal outside of a chase, but when you're in a chase you get to vault one window, then the next window you vault, you get lithe.

Or you could change the perk completely. An idea I had for a perk was to give you sprint burst when you drop a pallet. Might be a good counter to the killers that immediately respect and try to run around a slightly unsafe pallet

  • I don't think this would make it on par with other exhaustion perks,I think it would make it quite overpowered, having s sprint burst on demand like that, that you can use at any window and not have to think about it. Like imagine someone using shack and vaulting the window twice, and then on the third vault they use lithe and zoom to a nearby jungle gym and then use that structure for a while before coming back to shack with the window that's probably now unblocked. All from a single use of lithe. If you're Pig, GhostFace, Myers, Billy etc it'll take you forever to catch someone using lithe.

(This is assuming no bloodlust btw, something I hope is actually staying gone for good but I'm not sure it is. With bloodlust it wouldn't be so bad.)

  • I love wraith, but literally all the guy needs is increased movement speed while he's cloaked and the flashlight burn mechanic to be removed. Somewhere between yellow and green windstorm (I think the values go 12%/16%/20% so maybe make it 15) and then they rework the other windstorm perks into something else. Make a yellow shadow dance, and turn the green and purple windstorms into something like "you can immediately re-cloak when you get a surprise attack on a survivor by holding M2 during the attack wipe animation" or "reduces stun time if stunned whilst cloaked" something like that.

I would say that doctor is also pretty ok for both sides. Not too strong and not too weak (Except that the mending timer doesn't stop when recovering from madness 3 🙄)

His add-ons didn't need buffing at all. Discipline's 2nd effect of reducing the delay on shock therapy is completely dumb. And his green and yellow range add-ons having no charge penalty is also stupid. There's absolutely no thought that goes into using shock therapy with discipline and range, just spam away.

We all know about Meg heads right?

Well, BIll and Kate mains are just a slight step up the totem pole.

Honestly from my experience Kates are on the same level as Meg and Nancy players. I swear almost all of them are either drunk or playing with a Wii remote or something.

  • Let's hope the rework is more engaging and fun for both sides. Although considering their other reworks, they only seem to get one side right...except Leatherface, actually. I find him pretty fun overall now, they did a good job with him.

I think the killer that's gonna get the "full rework" treatment is Legion. And God I hope I'm right and they remove this abomination from the game and make them better.

  • Alright I'm gonna try and go through this and see what went wrong in my opinion:

    • You started off by going straight towards your devour totem which, imo, there wasn't really much of a need to and you kind wasted time but you did find the Jane pretty quickly after that
    • I wouldn't have tried to Feral Frenzy over to someone else, they were very far away either all on the pier or a few seconds away from main which is somewhere you never want to chase a survivor. You should've downed the Jane and moved on.
    • Tinkerer went off near the pier which is kinda rough, seems like they spawned on opposite corners of the map in a 2/2 split so gens are definitely gonna fly early on, especially on grim pantry
    • At around 1:10 I don't think you needed to double back there, and again you spent a lot of time chasing at main. This gen was blocked, your priority should've been the gens that were unblocked.
    • Made a little mistake chasing Jane at the beginning and then proceeded to keep chasing her around shack while tinkerer and discordance were both lighting up. Huge mistake, imo you should've definitely dropped the chase and stopped the gen near main, or hit her with Frenzy, and then ran to the gen to hit that survivor.
    • Never bother defending the main building gen either, it's really not worth the time and the effort

Then the video cuts and we have nothing else to go off. I think you should look into other perks, devour didn't do anything for you. Maybe swap it with either a good chase perk like enduring, monitor, infectious, or BBQ. I'd recommend watching Scott's killer guide videos:

Actually, some people have seizures and those people get damaged by that precise reason. Besides, pressing a button to spam crouching/flashlight is not that different from raising the middle finger. And raising the middle finger is well-known to be something offensive that you shouldn't do, It's not rocket science, I mean yes, I can have more important troubles to deal with, as an example someone steals me but that doesn't mean I won't get angry if my couple yells at me. Having something more important doesn't mean you can't get angry/dissapointed/sad by smaller reasons.

Having things that are more important doesn't mean you can't be mad at other things, but it does put things into perspective no? Why even bother wasting energy getting mad over someone pressing the ctrl key at you in a video game.

The flashlight thing is something I haven't heard of before though. If you can legitimately trigger a seizure in someone when spamming a flashlight at them then BHVR probably needs to address it, or at least make some kind of warning. I've never seen someone flashlight click directly into the killer's face, or had it done to me, but obviously that doesn't mean it can't happen.

  • What is that Spirit build oml. Also you really didn't like that rank 17 huh? You only get that few points if you get tunnelled into oblivion or something. And the other 3 got over 20k...

It seems like you're not telling us enough details about what happened in this match, and you lost for other reasons that weren't down to Matchmaking. If you tell us what happened we can give you some pointers going forward to help you improve your killer gameplay, or direct you to guides on YouTube.

  • Rushing gens and hiding are the only 2 things you can do against a good Nurse. Dead hard might let you dodge 1 hit the entire match because the Nurse will bait it out the next time with her first blink. If you dead hard, she will readjust with the 2nd blink and hit you. If you don't, she will just hit you anyway because at that point dead hard will probably fail on these garbage servers so it may as well be a hit.

  • Alert is absolutely a top tier perk. Tells you if a survivor is being chased, tells you early on if a killer has pop if you see alert go off right after someone getting hooked, tells you what pallets are still up and on what side of the map. Also shows you what killer it is if you still haven't found out.

Can't think of a single one for killer. Every perk that's considered bad by most are actually just bad perks, and all the good ones have already been established as good perks.

The demi I played was obviously going for achievement, but all these are good tips.

I wonder how long until I can vs him again.

That'll be your only Demo game for a long time, nobody ever plays him because pyramid head does it better, except his secondary ability is slightly worse than Demo's portals imo. But you play against these two in similar ways, the key differences being Demo obviously can't hit you through pallets or walls, and his shred is much faster. He's also worse at zoning with his power because he's slower than survivors while charging shred (unless you run rat liver), and PP Head is 110.

Oh but they already did punish players who BM. No more mori spam, remember? Because instead of making the bleed out timer continue through the mori animation, they couldn't be bothered and just removed it altogether. So killer BM gets nerfed, but survivor BM? Untouched.

Ooh I actually forgot about that. People getting banned for Mori spamming before they made changes to moris. I didn't agree with it at all. I don't remember ever doing it, but I had it done to me by GhostFace several times. God that was so hilarious, it was like an advanced t-bag. But yeah, I suppose you could argue there was a tiny bit of a double standard there before they changed moris to only play the animation once you held M1 enough.

I would love to see all the people that claim spirit "requires no skill, just a headset" actually try to play her blindfolded.

Interestingly enough, Monto uploaded a video today of him playing spirit while blindfolded and it took him 12 hours to get a single 4K using an Ebony Mori.

Try doing this in less than 12 hours with any other killer with a Mori and see if you can. You won't be able to. If you can even get a chance to win as a killer when you're literally blindfolded that's saying something about how easy a killer is. And I complain about spirit a lot and I don't think, in the times I've played her, got less than a 3k except for one time when I just wanted to get a tome challenge done then go AFK.

She's ridiculously easy. And that's not even a bad thing every killer in the game is easy to play, simplicity and accessibility is what made DbD so popular in the first place. why are people so obsessed with insisting that their killer main is hard to play?

  • @bjorksnas said:

grabs can happen in a few places

injured: windows (medium and slow vault), and vaulting pallets

healthy: cleansing totems, unhooking, lockers, generators

You can also grab people who are waking up via a clock. Kinda obscure and not useful at all but I found this out when I had to play Freddy for a daily.

  • You want BHVR to punish players who BM? Lmao what? That sounds like something you could get Riot or Blizzard to do, so I recommend playing overwatch or league they usually cater to the hyper-sensitive. Racism, homophobic remarks etc (the things that are actually toxic) already get reported and dealt with if there's evidence. You can't punish players for pressing a button in your face, learn to deal with it and move on, you probably have bigger things to worry about than strangers clicking a flashlight at you in a videogame.

  • Idk it's better than the same echo chamber posts about SWF, certain killers and bloodlust.

  • No, because lobby dodging is boring and wastes time. You're already spending so much time in this game waiting around for it to load, the clunky af menus, the transitions between menu screens, the bloodweb, the horrendously long load times if someone is on the previous gen consoles...just stay in the lobby and ready up. The only real reason I could think of as to why people would dodge is because of the fear of losing

Also why do people dodge flashlights lmao they're literally the worst item a survivor can bring.

  • Ash and Nightmare on Elm Street. I only played Freddy post-rework for a little bit and I was just so bored after like 2 weeks of playing him. The little effort required to be good with him and having so much at my disposal for free bored me to tears. And I haven't even levelled up Quentin to this day. And Ash's perks are just eh. Flip flop might become useful in the next chapter if you wanna do that cheesy af combo with power struggle.

  • The camera yanking up everytime you hook a survivor is incredibly annoying and it's really driving me away from playing her. It's pretty disorienting. And I'll ask this again, literally how does a bug like this happen...my mind is seriously blown that this keeps happening so often and consistently, how long has this game been out?...anyway there's that bug, and the hitboxes are so terrible on both ends that I feel bad for playing her and I also feel cheated when hatchets will just go straight through survivor models, or when the hatchet hits an object that has a collision box 500 times larger than the actual model.

Huntress really can't catch a break, same with Wraith and Billy.

  • @TeabaggingGhostface said:

Literally just change it to where the killer always sees your aura and you only see the killers aura during a chase

Do you know what happens when a survivors running object against Freddy, or they get hit by nemesis, or they have Victor on their shoulders? Permanent wallhacks. If you're running object and are against a Freddy you can literally see him at all times in a chase, there are absolutely no ways to mindgame in the chase. Likewise if you get affected by nemesis. It's ridiculously broken. Seeing every killer's aura during a chase would be game-breaking.

  • I don't think people realise that OP's proposed change would do literally nothing to tinkerer and are getting so angry over it.

  • Um, define "bullying", and if you have video examples I'd like to see, because a lot of people call SWF squads "bully squads" and all they're doing is something so benign like coordinating head on plays. Or they're just playing better than the killers and get called a bully squad despite the fact that all they're doing is being better at the game. And of all the big streamers I've watched Ive never seen them go out of their way to flame the killer in postgame chat etc. Even all the survivor mains.

  • @HarlowXRaven said:

I agree but if your getting facecamped or tunneled I don't blame you tbh if facecamping is allowed u should be able to dc its a viable thing for someone holding you hostage.

Well you are able to DC in any match you want, but you'll get a penalty for it. If you want out of a match it's better to get hooked and wiggle yourself down to stage 3. It doesn't take THAT much longer, and if you're being facecamped chances are you'll be doing that anyway.

As a side note, I'd advise to not take yourself out right away if you're being facecamped so you can let your teammates do gens. But if you look around and see nobody doing gens you may as well get it over with, because your 2 minutes of sitting there on hook will accomplish nothing for your team.

    Also run kindred.

  • Well yeah once they actually complete the killer they'll be good...kinda goes without saying. But can you really blame people for complaining about the way they've handled this upcoming DLC? The fact that they have so many issues that they didn't even notice before they even released it to the PTB (issues that you would've found out after testing them for literally 5 minutes. Surely their testers have some kind of checklist and thorough method to follow by now, they've been doing this for 4 years?) Idk man it's so concerning to see they still don't have a good grasp on game balance after so long. They needed us to discover these issues for them.

Still, the changes look good and at least they'll be playable eventually.

  • Let the survivor juke into your line of fire. You don't need to track their movements almost at all because most survivors will eventually move right in the center of your screen and at that point you throw the hatchet. It's gonna be nearly impossible for them to dodge if they're within a medium to short range.

Crosshairs also help I guess, I can definitely recommend downloading an app or using your monitor's crosshair setting if it has one. Definitely helps, every big Huntress streamer uses a crosshair.

  • Demo is 100% the most underrated killer in the game. Honourable mention goes to Deathslinger though. People don't think he's bad but the thing I hear the most is that he's a "worse Huntress" and imo that's the farthest from the truth. I think he's top 4 or 5, on the same level as Oni and Blight. No other killer except Nurse can consistently down survivors as quickly as he can. His slower movement speed doesn't even matter at that point when everyone can't hold a chase with him for more than 20 seconds.

  • @ringwinning said:

I just tried wraith and uh... that was a nightmare. I guess he takes practice. xD

He takes a good build and add-on combination. He is very build dependent, if yours isn't good, Wraith is terrible. You need at least a windstorm add-on, when you use one he becomes a decent killer.

Good go-to perks for Wraith would be BBQ, enduring, Nurse's calling, sloppy butcher (although he does have a green add-on that gives you the sloppy butcher effect on surprise attacks, which have a VERY generous time window). Pop is also good, I like running pop with shadow dance so I waste no time in kicking gens. He's the one killer I use pop on because he uses it the best. You can't go wrong with corrupt either. And I see some wraiths run make your choice, which is good if you have an aggressive playstyle and fast movement speed because you can get back to the hook in time before they even have the chance of hiding.

So there's a mini wall of text on what I think are decent perks for Wraith, because once you have a good build on him you're kind of set, there's not much after that to learn he's very simple to get into (aside from maybe what we call "windstorm lunge" which is literally just lunging the moment you uncloak and using the speed boost to give yourself a massive lunge. There's a bit of timing involved to get a good lunge and you need to know where you can use it which comes with time, but it's pretty intuitive)

  • Disagree. If you mean the full Tombstone it's not even close, iri head is 10 times better, but I think iri head is only a little bit better than tombstone piece. I think Tombstone Piece is better on maps that Huntress is garbage on, like Ormond and coldwind etc. Not by much though.

  • Because the devs currently have other priorities...for example the twins, and working out what's wrong with bloodlust. So Huntress add-on changes are gonna be a while off. She does need a lot of her add-ons changed and new ones that are more up to date. Exhaustion and iri head hatchets both need to go.

  • I mean, do you really want survivors to run DS, UB, soul guard, exhaustion AND adrenaline/object? Likewise do you want killers to run ruin, undying, tinkerer, BBQ and another perk of their choice be it enduring, stbfl, sloppy, Thana, etc.?

Edit: just realised a fifth perk slot would mean I could run shadowborn permanently in my builds and say goodbye to the god awful FOV without sacrificing 25% of my build just to be able to have an acceptable amount of vision in a game in 2020. So ######### what I said before I'm all for it.

  • It's usually console killers that have horrendous connection issues when paired with PC or the other console. Whether it's their connection, the servers or the horrific optimisation on the previous gen consoles or even all three, it definitely needs to be looked at. The hits probably look fine on their end, but they look like complete garbage on the survivor end and it does make for a pretty frustrating experience.

This. I love playing her she seems soo good and nobody plays her. Which kinda in the end makes ppl know less of how to deal with her

She's a strong killer, but so incredibly dull and one-dimensional. The majority of people playing this game enjoy chases, or strong fun abilities that end chases quickly or get them around the map fast (See Deathslinger, Spirit, Huntress, Nurse etc). Hag doesn't do that. You press M2 to draw a triangle in the ground, press ctrl when a survivor triggers the triangle and hit them, whilst never leaving one half of the map. Rinse-repeat until a survivor is downed, and at that point you hook them, trap them and the cycle starts all over again. And the way you deal with Hag is doing gens until she comes towards you, get hit and hold W in the direction you didn't see her place any traps, heal up, and the cycle repeats until the gens are done. Not a lot of people find this kind of gameplay fun, it can lead to really long matches because if Hag commits to any kind of chase when there aren't many gens left she loses.

Yeah, until you run into an infinite loop, then no amount of skill will help you.

Name one that isn't the basement with the right window spawn on Haddonfield and Badham.

  • Hide the chat, there a little button next to it that will completely hide it from view. I'm not sure if it stays hidden when you switch off the game or not but you can go to the survivor menu and check everytime you load the game to see if it's still hidden. The tbagging is something you're gonna have to learn to not get worked up about. It's an empty threat all they're doing is spamming the ctrl key. It means nothing. It only does something if you let it get to you

You shouldn't be letting empty words from a stranger get to you and ruin your experience(especially since they'll probably forget about the entire thing 5 minutes later and move onto the next game). Many different ways exist to block communication from people you don't know so use them.
