Just a reminder to be very careful about getting excited about a new chapter. We don't know what bugs are gonna be released with it yet so it's probably best to go in with almost no expectations. It's fine that you're excited for it but you should also try and keep yourself from being too disappointed if it doesn't turn out that well.

Because every single game has to have an option to leave the match. There are literally no games that don't have this sort of option.
Maybe we should strap players to electric chairs and force them to play every single match until the end? That's a good idea, right?
Someone's never played a fighting game online.

4 seconds is all i'd need on Discordance, and the distance buff is nice for maps like Azarov's Resting Place.
Still, why was infinite Aura-reading range a problem again?
It probably wasn't a problem. BHVR had no idea how to change the perk tiers so that T3 was the best, so they threw on a range requirement and normalised the aura reading because then it's easier to go "small range bad big range good" and base the tiers on that instead.
Sidenote, this also shows that we're likely never going to see a change to the perks like only having 1 tier, because ludicrous grind that's worse than most MMOs is also good for the game according to them.
-
Last I checked you can equip 4 perks in this game, and you only mentioned 2 so yeah. Most of the time killers aren't even gonna know you're running it and it won't have much of an effect on the game, because 1 DS+UB combo isn't enough to save 3 dumbasses on your team who last a collective 20 seconds in a chase and have no idea what a generator looks like. And that's like 75% of your Solo Q games so go nuts, because at least you'll get to play a bit longer than the other survivors on your team. If you play with friends then even 1 DS and Unbreakable combo can be a pretty big game changer.

Wait tf Buttercake got banned? Of all people? rip

It’s kind of a sarcastic perk, really
Mither means: To make an unnecessary fuss; to moan or bother; to pester or irritate someone
Yet it’s called No Mither
Think about the phrase in a different way, like David not being mithered by his constant injuries because he's a tough handsome boi (who I definitely don't think is hot with a beard no not at all). Even though he still makes injured sounds... Idk I got nothing.
-
...wait what. I need to play again tomorrow night and see the difference myself. Maybe I can finally stop moaning my head off on the forums about FOV now. Do you have pictures of other killers or is this a Nurse-specific thing? Or if anyone can try and recreate similar images of before the patch and after (would be some work but screenshotting someone's stream at a random point in the map on the previous patch then going to a custom game and finding that same area on this patch with the same killer would be the best way to compare)

Making ultra rares for a killer that doesn’t even need addons is extremely hard to do but these addons were horrible.
The notebook is fine if you run an autohaven offering with it. There aren't many objects you can't blink over on autohaven. You can even get through the car walls on gas haven sometimes if you find some kind of gap to look through. It's still probably worse than addon-less, and most Nurses don't even need 3 blinks to hit someone anyway, but it's not unusable.

@APoipleTurtle said:
"Best" will vary by killer. Some combos work better on certain characters (such as STBFL on Demogorgon or M&A on Deathslinger).
But to give you an idea of what's kind of universally considered pretty good (as in, functionally useful or valuable on most killers):
- BBQ & Chili
- Discordance
- Ruin (plus Undying and/or Surveillance, if you like)
- Pop Goes the Weasel
- Save the Best for Last
- Monitor & Abuse
- Enduring (plus Spirit Fury as an option)
- Devour Hope
- Corrupt Intervention
- Deathbound
The worst killer perks are ones that just have little-to-no meaningful effect or are too situational/weak to be useful. Not trying to write a novel though, so here's just a few that are pretty widely thought of as downright terrible:
- Monstrous Shrine
- Insidious
- Cruel Limits
- Rancor (though it can be fun for "Rancor Roulette")
- Furtive Chase (can be fun for the same reason as Rancor)
- Predator
- Territorial Imperative
- Unrelenting
...And many more.
Rancor is definitely not "downright terrible". It's not good either, but you get a notification of where every survivor is when a gen gets completed, and you get to insta-kill one survivor at the end. It's not completely useless but there are better perks for sure.
-
Killer queues are faster in the evening. If you play then and are at least above rank 8 or so then queues will be nearly instant. (At least in EU. It might vary depending on region but I get instant queues in the evening as killer and when me and my friends play survivor it can take well over a minute or two.)

Nope, let's NOT go back to the time before DC penalties. Prior to the penalties, I ran into someone DC'ing almost 2 out 3 games. Now, it is uncommon for me to see it at all. I'm sorry for those of you who say things are crashing, but my suggestion is get your system or your internet sorted, because ninety-nine times out of a hundred the crash is NOT on the game's side. You simply don't have the system resources or internet to handle it. Who knows why? Perhaps you have malware, viruses, an old machine, or you are insisting on playing on a system that is below what is recommended. It doesn't matter; I don't believe you when you claim it is a crash.
Why? Because prior to the DC penalties I rarely heard anyone complaining about crashes. These mysterious crashes always seem to spike if/when DC penalties get put back in. Nobody is buying what you are selling. The DEV and the Moderators will always be polite and give you the benefit of the doubt. I don't have to do that. Sort out your issues, and then come and play. The water is fine now that all the DC types are out of the pool.
Maybe you could consider the fact that this game might be getting more broken and unstable with each patch they put out because there's just way too much in the game now? Paired with the other fact that UE4 is already bad enough and it's a lottery if some games even boot up on some people's PCs, I don't even need to mention console. And the other other fact that they're updating the graphics when the game is already so unoptimised, and it's now objectively running worse than it was before? The crashes didn't appear out of nowhere because DC penalties are now a thing, this game is performing worse than it ever has done.

Hey if you wanna play those killers you can. You bought the game, play however you wanna play man.

I miss being camped by old Bubba and the legendary full-rev-not-a-single- ######### -given facecamp for 2 minutes straight until you died. Back then it was an honour and a privilege to be facecamped by our lord and saviour. Now it's silent, and not nearly as hilarious.

I agree that the clock should be rng like the Pig's jigsaw boxes, rather than the furthest possible one by default. He doesn't need to be slowed while placing snares at loops, but maybe they could just take a second to spawn in instead of being immediate.
I kind of like that idea with his snares. Let him place snares further away but they take a moment to "power up" to take effect. And let the survivor see the blood pool forming too.

Where Is the dislike button?
Survivors who are "sick of those killers" need to play a new game then. Survivors want to bully the entire match and be walked out by the killer to the exit gate where he/she lets them go. There is absolutely 0 excuse for DCing or killing yourself on your first hook. 0. It makes for a horrible game for your team mates and for the killer, but nearly ensures the win if the gens are unfinished enough for the killer. So not only is it rude to dip on your team mates, but youre also giving the killer an advantage.
Survs are a group of rage quitting, entitled cry babies and its just gotten worse as the game has grown. :/
That's cool and all to generalise over half of the community and go on a rant like that, but I never once said that it was a good thing, I just stated what's probably going on in their minds when they suicide on hook.
-
I'd do it for +15 killer FOV by default. Don't care what anyone says, this is the most important change DbD could ever receive.
I love your name btw, and would fully support Legion being trashed from this game in a heartbeat.
-
You can do it on console too actually. No idea how, or even if it's a console setting or if it's monitor/TV specific thing but it's possible.

Nurse is apparently justified because so very many people have no real clue how to play her. That's what I keep getting told. People like to pretend that every Nurse is kind of dumb and just tries to predict what the survivors are doing, thus opening themselves up to giant amounts of counterplay, as opposed to reacting to what the survivors do and leaving them with no option but to Hold W because all you need to do is blink to the place they broke LoS and the survivors have no way of avoiding your second blink.
Not sure about Spirit, I think they just ignore the whole concept of in-chase counterplay and instead say that she needs to exist to kill the top 1%, please ignore that she stomps on the 99 and also gets stomped on by the 1% because most Spirits aren't that good.
I never understood that argument either lol. I sort of like nurse right now because honestly I'll take a Nurse over the usual garbage we have to deal with. Though I imagine my opinion would drastically change if more people didn't have the herd opinion that she's now "unplayable" because you now have to wait a whopping 6 extra seconds to use her power again.
I think another reason why people think she's fine compared to Spirit is because you get full information about what she's doing. You know exactly when she's starting a blink, how far it's gonna go, where she's travelling to all through numerous visual and audio cues so it doesn't feel as BS as it does against Spirit. Sure there's still next to nothing you can do about it if they're good but at least it doesn't come out of nowhere with no kind of warning and the nurse had to actually do something to get you.
-
The buff to the range does almost nothing, 96m was good enough for almost any range in the game. But that extra buff it got to update auras every 4 seconds instead of 8 is actually a pretty nice change. This is exactly how BHVR should be changing perks, a handful at a time and it seems like they're starting to do that now. Which is good.
-
I remember playing Legion to practice killer basics and get better at fundamentals like chases and stuff...like 6 months ago and I've never touched them again. And I see way too many in my survivor games. Seriously what do people see in this killer they literally don't have any kind of power in a chase you press m2 and mindlessly run around and stab people with no effort and once they're injured you chase them with literally no power or interesting mechanics of any kind. Legion's ability is so pathetically boring, they need to be reworked into an entirely different killer because current Legion doesn't work. Legion mains are even weirder than people who main Hag because at least with Hag you have some things to learn like teleporting fast to traps, knowledge of maps and tiles and some interesting perk synergy but with Legion there's literally nothing to their Frenzy.

Do you consider this game competitive?
If they did they said it would start as soon as it's implemented... which would suck
The only way to have those stats it too do them yourself
What constitutes a win?
Why would you want to know the survivor you prefer?
It'd be a cool thing to have in-game. There's already a website that shows you most of your DbD stats but it'd be kinda cool to see a stats page in game that I could look at. Maybe give everyone actual customisable profiles in the game too and give people the option to show their stats.
Then they can add a very simple message function to the game so you can communicate to people cross-platforms and have a stronger social aspec-I'm being way too optimistic here aren't I lmao. Aside from a small number of changes I want for general gameplay and certain killers, a stronger social aspect is the thing I want the most out of DbD. Would just be nice to see more of people's personality through the game with profiles and the ability to talk to them etc.
-
Wait do people actually think tuft of hair on Myers is overpowered? He spends half the game getting to tier 3 and when he does he's Plague with a better lunge and no corrupt purge. Now he has to constantly worry about dead hard, iron will, and resilience slams out gens even harder, which has become a pretty popular perk in recent months.
I agree with everything else about moris and iri head, and the cypress mori being basekit is something I've wanted for the longest time, but tuft of hair isn't a very good add-on
-
The fake cooldown is 10 seconds, not 5. It's still very short and basically meaningless but yeah. And 45 seconds should just be the standard teleport cooldown for Freddy. It shouldn't be able to be shortened by up to 60 ######### percent (80% with both addons. Pretty sure it takes it down to about 13 seconds. Wow amazing. Definitely very fun with ruin, undying and tinkerer.)
Not only THAT, it takes gradually longer to wake yourself up with survivors so it shortly becomes pointless because the moment you fall asleep the clock spawn literally the furthest away from you as humanly possible. So keeping awake to try and keep his teleport cooldown up is a total waste of time and not worth it. And then he makes everyone oblivious, counters BT for free and the ability to slow down survivors with spammable snares that doesn't slow down or affect him at all when placing them so it's completely risk-free.
Not an overtuned killer at all, BHVR...no, not in the slightest...
-
If a killer wants to farm I'm getting all the gens done as soon as possible and leaving. Complete waste of time and so utterly dull and pointless. I'd usually DC but that's hardly an option anymore is it?

I'm actually glad that the bug went away because it made Spirit way too damn brain dead to evade and counter!
I just don't see how you guys find being spoon feed counterplay "fun" or "interactive". Almost like playing a FPS game and having wall hacks to see where enemies are and what guns they have!
So today I learned hearing a small audio cue every 2 seconds for an invisible phase-walking serial killer in an asymmetrical multiplayer game where one side can never damage or hurt the other side is literally almost the same as using wallhacks in Call of Duty.
-
I don't know anyone who likes playing against Legion, Slinger or Clown so...Idk lmao. The survivors you're playing against are probably sick of these killers and just don't wanna play against them, they're played a lot. So this is what they do instead of DCing because that would give them a penalty.
-
One other thing I found out about Trapper recently is that survivors no longer get any kind of invincibility to walk over traps after they get injured. So...yeah basement Trapper is even more fun and interactive now.
Anyway I really don't know how to change trapper and I'm pretty sure the Devs don't have any ideas either so they're hoping people will eventually forget about him like they're hoping with killers like Wraith and Pig.

They were specifically surrounding me at a distance and flash lighting me, wherever I looked they were trying to flashlight. It started at a pallet and I brushed it off then they got on either side of the little corridor I was in and did it, I rushed them but was blinded and couldn't get them. I had to actively run away where they then started giving chase. It wasn't until one of them ran out that I was able to down them and I knew if I picked them up they would just flashlight me again.
and I don't have light-born because I haven't maxed hillbilly.
A coordinated team activly trying to grief you can do a lot of damage. If you are going to be incredibly dismissive and rude I'd recommend reexamining how you interact with people.
How was I rude? Because I didn't agree with you and instead gave you ways to counter flashlights instead of giving you my sympathies? They are objectively the worst and most counterable survivor item in the game (unless you count maybe green maps or something). One perk completely negates them. Looking up, down or away won't blind you and they have to be off gens to use them so if there are 4 survivors who are all running flashlights they're all not gonna be working on gens. I don't get it lmao.
The only items I'm scared of in lobbies are medkits, if I see 3 or 4 of those I know I'm in for a world of pain. If I see 3 or 4 flashlights it's the easiest game of the night.
-
Flashlights are the most counterable item a survivor can bring. Specifically what were they even doing lmao. Blinding at pallets? Use your ears to track survivors instead of your eyes for a couple of seconds. Blinding in the open? Look up or down...
Flashlight saves? Look at a wall or bait the save, or run lightborn. In fact you wouldn't have ever been blinded at all if you ran lightborn.
I really don't understand why people hate flashlights so much, they're such a terrible item.

Actually the huntress was pretty smart. Why would she just let you get saved and let the process start all over again? Tactical from the huntress, not necessarily triggered.
Oh no I can guarantee she was mad, nobody throws a game and camps someone to death after being ran for 4 gens as a tactic lmao.

Or why do we say things like small pp build. Let's stop being mean to people from running a specific build and just let people run what they want.
Well Scott started using the term to describe DS+UB as a sort of joke, made a YouTube video about it and a lot of his YouTube viewers are killer mains who take everything way too seriously so they adopted it as an actual insult and now here we are...I actually find it really funny that people are seriously using the term "small pp" in arguments on a forum about strong mechanics in a video game.

Got tired of reading all the negativity. I like him MORE now. He is more fun to play. I love his music. I stopped playing billy for months before the rework when his animations started bugging out. In my opinion he is in a great place now. His animations are fine. His movement is fine. Overheating never happens unless I back rev a ton.
I think everyone is holding onto their bullsheet opinions from before and haven't given him a chance since. Or maybe they just aren't bothering to take the time to adjust to new billy. Either way I don't care. He is fun, I'm getting 4ks, I'm curving on people's faces, and I don't know what everyone is bitching about. Git gud?
Are you not reading anyone's responses or something? I'm happy for you that you like him more now but that's not the case for everyone. Just because you're not having problems...etc.
His stupid roar, and his HORRENDOUS animations that are objectively worse than they were before all contribute to me now really not liking this killer nearly as much as I used to before. The overheat mechanic is dumb but I would be able to live with it if his camera and new animations didn't jerk around so much that it gives me a headache. Why on earth they thought Billy looking like he lightly bumped into something and to jerk the camera forward would be a good replacement animation for literally running through someone with a ######### chainsaw is beyond me. And keep in mind his third person animation for a chainsaw hit still looks fine. The revving looks hideous but still, some of his animations look ok from the survivor's POV. I just want any kind of response from BHVR but they're completely ignoring this.
-
Whejevr I stop hearing things in game I'll tab back in and ready up and then tab out again. Honestly though the ready up is a mindgame in itself.
If I see a killer ready up immediately on joining a lobby it usually means they're good killers. For...some reason, idk good killers tend to not care about waiting around and will just ready up once they get into a lobby and wanna get on with it.
If a killer doesn't ready up 9 times out of 10 they're checking every profile if it's PC, or if someone has ttv in their name they're checking their stream and depending on the severity will either equip add-ons and a Mori or just dodge the lobby. And these killers are generally not as good as the ones who insta-ready.
Anyway that's the conclusion to my social experiment which is possibly the most pointless thing my dumb ass has ever taken notice of in this game because literally who cares.
-
Basically: Survivors are ######### bored, and going in as a 3 or 4 man flashlight squad with everyone using green haired Nea running at the killer is fun. Gen rushing and playing optimally is not (I think this is something killers complain about, no? And now I see complaints that survivors mess around in front of the killer and don't want to afk on the objective. Are you for real?)
-
Well I'm expecting nothing. Actually scratch that, I'm expecting a December update with several nasty bugs for my favourite killers and something like the hill glitch to return for a week until it gets hotfixed the next week and 5 more bugs are introduced.
And probably an Ormond graphical update because haha winter and snow and stuff.
-
Needs to become a completely different killer. Legion's so incredibly dull and agonisingly simple and boring. Their power is to run at a moderate speed, injure people and force survivors to hold M1 for 10 seconds then carry on with their day. It's so comically bad. There's absolutely nothing to this killer and they need a full-on rework.
-
@Xpljesus said:
That's not stretched, but you seem to be the average anti stretched guy who just blames it because they heard it's a thing and is bad at the game, nemesis makes her oblivious so she can see you through the wall with object as she hears no TR. No res can see over Macmillan jungle gyms, and even if the walls were lower, this is not how stretched works anyways.
Oh I had to edit my post because I didn't even realise that he was running nemesis LOL. Some killers really need to read up on how certain mechanics work in this game.
-
How do you know she was using stretched Res? Were they streaming? Because if they weren't this is as dumb an assumption as a killer seeing someone take a hit for another survivor and immediately cry "SWF! SWF!". Also you were running nemesis so survivors have perma wallhacks on you with object because oblivious. Also also if you were a tall killer they could probably see you over most structures...you really haven't provided any info at all and for all we know that nea wasn't running a stretched res, not that it matters if they do anyway at least imo.

You know most of the old realms are gonna get a makeover eventually, it's only a matter of time. Even if Autohaven loses in the poll, it would only be prolonging the inevitable.
So enjoy it while you can.
I know...I just wanna have some good maps for once man :(
-
If their abilities and perks are good, I couldn't care less who they add to the game, and mechanics are something that people never seem to bring up when they talk about why they want Springtrap in the game. The lore of DbD has never interested me, and neither have any of the characters except Michael, Laurie or Pyramid Head. It could be a single purple and black square for all I care, as long as it brings something fun to the table mechanics-wise. And hey, they made something really special with Blight so here's hoping they keep that streak up.
-
I hope it's Ormond next. I want them to keep breakable walls FAR AWAY from autohaven for as long as humanly possible. It's the only overall pretty good realm left, I don't want them screwing it up even more. If they do then all we're left with is Father Campbell's Chapel.

That is no challenge if its unfair for me. There is no way to see I improve if the enemys are always smarter than me.
So strive to get better than them? Use better killers, run better perks, play better and adapt to their tactics? Look up scottjund on YouTube and look at his killer guide videos. Watch Otz play killer and see what he does. Hell, even play survivor yourself and learn from that because a lot of killer knowledge comes from knowing how to play survivor well (something a lot of killer mains refuse to acknowledge and always wonder why they lose. It's because they don't know how to play survivor). The only big difference in playstyles I can think of between someone who has around 600 hours and someone who has over 2000 is the one with 2000 will tend to care less about you as a killer and won't care about being injured, doing gens in your face, unhooking in your face etc because they've seen it all a thousand times and nothing will really surprise them anymore. You need to learn how to play around them and Scott actually just made a video in how to deal with these kinds of survivors too.
-
I can't say I'm surprised in the slightest that this was overlooked...it's just kinda sad at this point.
-
I look back at my mistakes, see what I could've done better and then move on to the next because 9 times out of 10 it's entirely down to you. Not to perks, not to SWF, but you as a player...is this not petty enough?
-
If my team isn't doing anything I'd rather just get the hell out of the match as fast as possible, there's no point in staying, the extra 400 or whatever Bps you get isn't worth the 60 seconds of carpal tunnel development. But hey, I didn't DC in this situation so I'm not ruining it for the other players!

actually, its not lol
if you are hiding instead of doing gens or looping the killer, you are a detriment.
Survivors who waste their teams time are a Killer's best friend
I mean if you want to loop a Spirit, Deathslinger or nurse go right ahead and see how that works out for you. I'd rather not give the strongest chase abilities an actual chase, you'd waste more of their time by hiding.
-
You're aware you're still able to use your other senses to track survivors than just sight right? You can hear a survivor, provided sounds work, run away from you, or towards you, quite easily. And you'll be able to hear them breathe.
