  • Hopefully an add-on rework and nothing more. Maybe I'd want them to make portals less clunky to place and let him just place them anywhere except maybe under a hook and the exit gates, doesn't matter if half of the portals clip into everything as long as they're more streamlined. But yeah, an add-on pass and removing portal clunkiness is all I'd want them to change.

    Not at all.

I like the game, I play it with friends, but even the slightest investigation into it shows it's gonna crash and burn fast.

It's made by a single person. Joining their discord includes pins ranting about "don't offer me help I DON'T NEED A DEV TEAM I CAN DO IT ALONE."

He also has a board up that lists all features being worked on and being considered at the moment. Almost everything set to change is minor bugs or poor animations with VR. The only thing in the works for 'balance' is nerfing the thermometer because it's too reliable, meaning in future expect more aimless wandering waiting for anything to happen by accident.

There's also concepts like "add an appartment map" and "add a mansion."

There's so very little actual content coming, not even a mention of adding different ghosts. So many of the current ghosts list special abilities that I've almost never seen them use. Even the "fast" ghosts can almost reliably be outran, making it almost impossible to get caught on the big maps.

It is enjoyable, but without keeping content coming and keeping the playerbase invested, it's not going to stay popular. It's a flavour of the month game, and honestly, as good as a job as he's done making the game by himself, it's the attitude that he can do it all alone that is going to make it fail very soon.

That said he's probably made an absolute killing off it for a one-man job.

Yeah idk if the ghosts aren't fully realised yet or what but I feel like their unique abilities don't even do anything. Like for example a Jinn is supposed to hunt you faster the further away it is from you but i don't notice it catch up to us any faster than a normal ghost like a Spirit or Oni. It's strange, I love the concept of the game and how it's quite streamlined and simple to get into but damn it really needs more ghosts and maps. And faster movement speed for both the players and the ghosts.

Also how cool would it be if there were multiple ghosts in a single map, or the ghost moved from room to room? Or even the ability to banish the ghost with rituals and stuff? It has a lot of potential but this singular Dev is gonna squander all of it if he doesn't do the right thing fast.

  • Oh...my god...

  • For playing Huntress in 2020, as long as the survivor is one your screen you should hit them with no problems.

Serious answer, mainly down to you practicing shots and that's really the only advice you can be given. The rest is up to you to practice and keep at it.

Crosshairs help if you wanna go down that route. Every single good Huntress I've seen uses one and you can't get banned for it. There's literally no downside to using one ("Custom desktop logo" is a good app to use if you don't have one built in to your monitor). You might have to lower the crosshair a tiny bit because Huntress' hatchets don't travel directly from the centre of the screen. Oh and if you're wondering what colour to use, I usually use a purple one, it seems to show up the best in almost every area in the game.

  • Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think deliverance and second wind work together. Desperate measures and botany is probably a fun combo though. Fast heals can really stop a lot of momentum for killers that don't have an instadown and rely on survivors being injured. Empathy would also be a good choice. Map-wide aura reading on injured survivors is not only good for knowing when you can safely go and heal someone, but you'll also know who's getting chased, what pallets are being dropped, how good that survivor is at looping...secretly empathy and alert are top tier perks.

  • Hey he's got a point

Once you purchase the game, you don't need to buy anything else. So you can play it for free after that! DbD is a free to play game!

Adrenaline is balanced, but it seems a bit unfair a survivor could have two exhaustion perks. Exhaustion perks are already very powerful, even lithe can get good use. They could use adrenaline and 40 secs later they would still have an exhaustion perk.

Y-...you know you can equip more than 2 exhaustion perks already and get both effects as long as you wait for the cooldown right? Like you can use head on, and then 40 seconds later you could choose to use dead hard if you're running both perks.

  • I look back on my mistakes, because 9.99 times out of 10 it's the player's fault, and not the game's, or SWF, or perks, you simply got outplayed by the other side and you absolutely could have done something better. So learn from your mistakes people! Become a better player, don't remain the same and continue to blame the game for your problems.

  • FOV slider for killer. Up to 15 extra degrees. And then rework shadowborn to do...something. Literally anything. I know for a fact they'll never implement this because the Devs believe it's too important for the balance of the game that the killer FOV remains at 87 degrees and you can only increase it to 102 if you're willing to remove 25% of your effective perk loadout. But I still stand by this feature being an amazing QoL change for killers and wouldn't really affect game balance at all imo. 87 degrees for a first person FOV in 2020 is kind of abysmal.

Or do you mean those people who are actually toxic and send homophobic and racial slurs etc and generally go out of their way to insult a player?

  • Been a while since I've seen a 1-sided fat-shaming spot. Maybe my man Oni needs to lose a few pounds, he is built like a boulder.

When will people realize that saying a blanket statement like "Survivors are OP" or "Killers are OP" essentially confirms they have no idea how the randomness of this game affects balance?

Maybe these people are also using a random number generator to decide which side they should complain about each day?

  • Answer: No. This game is as simple as it gets. Everything you can learn about this game on pc you can learn on console just as easily. The PC and console versions of DbD aren't mechanically challenging or demanding in the slightest compared to most other multiplayer games, it was designed that way lmao. Whether that's a good or bad thing is up to you, personally I like that this game is very casual. Grind-wise this game is abysmal, the sheer amount of content you have to grind for and the poor BP yield isn't new player-friendly at ALL. But that's an entirely different can of worms.

tbh if u dont play strong killers you get your ass whooped so hard taht is not even funny at higher ranks you cant blame killers players for choosing a killer that actaully stands a chance. meanwhile survivors can perform very good even without perks because that is how balanced the game is.

Every killer can do just fine at any rank. I mainly used to play Wraith and Myers and I rarely had any trouble when I mained those two. You really don't need to bring the strongest things at any rank to do well. And you can't blame survivors for fighting BS with BS because you're not gonna see survivors perform well perk-less unless you're in a sweat squad like Marth's depip squad back in the day, and you all played blendettes and literally rushed gens and did nothing but communicate to each other on Comms because that never happens. Can guarantee that almost everyone on here has never actually come across a survivor group like this.

  • I don't agree with point 4 right now. After seeing what they've done to Macmillan I'm dreading the day they touch the autohaven maps. Those maps have already become dead zone city sometimes but they're the only decent maps left aside from chapel that haven't been plagued with horrendous breakable walls.

Ah I can see it now...

    image.png image.png image.png

  • I still use kindred when I play with friends lol. Because contrary to popular belief not every swf group is constantly sweating their balls off and telling people the exact location of everything 24/7. Kindred is fine as is, and it's one of the best survivor perks, really doesn't need a buff. Idea of more BP would be cool though, Survivors don't get nearly as many different scoring opportunities as killer and their bp yields are still really low.

Why is the Tombstone piece stupid and shouldn't be in the game?

You're a 115 killer with 2 instakills that you can get in a pretty short space of time. Paired with J Myer's memorial or the green obsession stalking add-on with nemesis it doesn't take much longer to get to tier 3 than addon-less, and you can even get a few downs with it before you choose to just instantly remove someone from the game. And you can do this twice (even 3 times if you play it right, as someone said to me in this thread). The lack of the movement speed penalty makes it way too strong. The moment you get to tier 3 and kill someone (probably by the time around 1 and half gens get completed) the game is over at that point, a 3 v 1 is almost impossible to come back from.

I can agree with your former post, but not the latter. Hag's power can be interacted heavily by the survivors to be worthless (flashlights), and they can be triggered to distract a bad Hag from a chase.

I mostly mean like actual interaction where both sides have an equal opportunity to outskill each other. The only real way this kind of interaction really happens is in a chase, and Hag doesn't want do that or she's wasting a lot of time committing to one down that will probably cost her the game.

  • @AvisDeene said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/201483/whats-wrong-with-hag

Because a good Hag can’t be looped for 5 gens. Anything that stops Survivors from being able to loop or toy with the Killer is deemed unfun for them. It is why they hate camping so much.

In order to be considered fun, you have to conform to their arbitrary rules and let them all escape.

Well...anything that is completely uninteractive like Hag isn't gonna be considered fun by almost anyone. It's a justified complaint, why are you and so many others so hell-bent on insulting these people with valid complaints and opinions about a killer they don't like, and are ultimately not having fun? It's not illegal to complain about something you don't like is it? Unless this is a new rule on the forums that I'm not aware of. And that 2nd point about survivors making killers conform to rules and the killer letting them all escape is literally not true in the slightest.

  • She's built for camping and tunnelling injured survivors off hook, she doesn't care about what survivors do at all, she doesn't commit to a chase so the best part of the game for most people is literally not a thing and a survivor's skill is now determined by how well they can hold M1 on a gen while their friend is getting proxy camped on hook, and when nobody's on a hook your skill as a survivor is determined by how well you can run into a trap, get hit, run out and heal up and repeat this process until the gens are done. Honestly what isn't wrong with Hag...that being said if you enjoy playing her don't let other people's opinions dissuade you from playing a killer you enjoy. Because ultimately we're just moaning about things we don't find fun the same way killers are moaning about DS and the like. She's hardly an overpowered killer. She's not fun to play against in the slightest but at the end of the day all the complaints from survivors and killers about things are aimed towards the game itself, and not the player (at least I'm speaking for myself and a few others on the forums anyway, a lot of them don't seem to follow this mindset though)

  • Really wish they'd at least give SOMETHING to people who continue to support their game. Like for example when a new DLC drops, why not give the players who bought the DLC with real money or auric cells the teachable perks already unlocked in the bloodweb for both the killer and survivor? Would that be too much to ask for? Maybe throw in additional iri shards for people who buy the DLC, or iri shards that come with auric cell packs? Anything?

Or even doing the most basic grind-reducing change that everyone's been asking for and REMOVE THE ######### PERK TIERS?! I don't know how they expect to get anyone even the slightest bit interested in their game once they realise or get told from active players that they will be spending literally hundreds of thousands of hours grinding away on the ######### bloodweb to unlock all the teachables and perks that they will actually need (that's just to unlock them, and now you have to go through every single killer and survivor that you wanna play and it's entirely random if you get that teachable perk in the bloodweb. Have fun :))))))))) ), as well as paying real money or grinding for 30 hours or getting a REALLY lucky shrine for perks that are almost a necessity (DS and BBQ). Until they do that they're running around with almost no perks and likely not having fun (especially as killer because for a lot of killers their powers suck and they actually need a good perk loadout or they're nearly unplayable against good survivors) and not gaining almost any ######### bloodpoints because without BBQ your BP yields are gonna be awfully low. Not to mention as a new player you're probably gonna be spending more time queuing for matches than you will be playing the game, so that's also a plus. Crossplay has helped low rank queues but not by much, learned that when I stopped playing killer for a long while and had to climb back up from rank 13 again. Like Jesus Christ BHVR, how do you expect me to recommend this game to ANYONE?

Had a game yesterday watching Bronx there's a chance a chest can spawn there which makes it impossible to go through that opening. Imo that just needs to stay closed how it was before on both sides without the super long fence.

A Freddy clock can also spawn there and I believe it also blocks people from going through there. Weird

  • @Justalittlepeeck said:

Although I can agree he is balanced, giving him some QoL would be awesome.

Rat liver basekit, travel to portals from any angle and basic attack on shred would make him significantly better.

His shred isn't a basic attack though, it's a special attack. And that would be bad for the Demo players who run STBFL. I've stopped running it on him but almost everyone runs it because of the obvious synergy. And it's sort of the exact reason why they changed Legion's frenzy to not be a basic attack.

  • @Maníaco_da_garrafa said:

Can someone give me a reasonable argument for rat liver being basekit other than "i want to do feather tech and not get slowed down while also saving an addon slot"?

Yeah I don't get this change either. I stopped running rat liver because it made getting shreds at loops way too easy, and you could zone for free. It's pyramid head 2.0

  • I'd like an add-on rework, but for the love of God I hope they don't touch his base kit and his shred values. They're fine as is. Maybe if they want to make him able to place portals anywhere regardless of the size of the area I'd be happy for something like that (might look weird having it clip into everything but function over form imo). But I heavily disagree with people who want rat liver's values to be base kit. He essentially turns into pyramid head 2.0. IMO this add-on needs to either be removed, nerfed or turn into a green or purple. Addonless Demo is already fine as is and I don't think he needs to be significantly buffed in any way or changed to become add-on reliant because that would kill him for me.

  • You know how you see some killer players on here say they're gonna play the worst they've ever played this week? Or they'll bring an ebony Mori and spirit when they're on a losing streak? Similar thing with survivors. A lot of them are fed up with killers hardcore tunnelling them down with a Mori, or seeing Deathslinger, Freddy or Spirit every single game, so they slap on DS and Unbreakable with either a key or some other item (if you wanted the strongest build you should really be running the purple medkit with charge add-ons along with either botany or built to last.)

    And the cycle continues :)

  • Almo has very creative responses to these threads, yeah. The extreme subtlety of them could give us an insight into who he likes to play in this game if anyone cared to look into it

  • @thisisntmax said:

prove thyself and resilience prove for fun five minute games where i can feel the mald and with the increase of moris im more inclined to just keep it up tbh

Yep the people I play with and see in my games are sick of going against Deathslingers and Freddies, NOED etc. Or ruin undying with a Mori, so DS+UB build it is for them. I've started running empathy, autodidact and kindred, and one of us will usually bring a map or small game too. So ######### their NOED/ruin+undying and good luck downing people because I can find everyone and heal them in 5 seconds if I can get stacks in early and I usually can. I've found healing builds to be super fun and useful recently.

  • Postponed 1 year until 2026? I don't think that's how years work...onto the topic though and yeah the ping problem is ridiculous right now. The amount of times I've watched my friend stun a killer with a pallet, the stun goes through and they get hit right after, or getting hit 3 meters away from a wall, or huntress' hatchet hitting your hitbox that apparently extends several galaxies behind and above you...yea it's really funky right now lmao. I mean hey who doesn't like to play the death lottery everytime they hit space at a window or pallet?

Oh my god I forgot they did that, I was just focused on the ones that suddenly got a shard discount, but were still payable with shards. Those people literally got scammed out of their money. Holy ######### ######### BHVR...

  • If I'm playing with friends obviously I'm a survivor main (which takes up basically my entire time with the game right now). But if I'm not I'm a "whichever side has acceptable queue times" main.

  • @Khar said:

Isn't it balanced by requiring much more time stalking? Why does it need to go just because you have braindead teammates?

The full Tombstone is balanced like that, as well as having a speed penalty so you also have to spend time stacking pwyf. Honestly survivors who have even the smallest bit of awareness should be able to easily slam 5 gens before he gets to tier 3.

Tombstone piece on the other hand is stupid and shouldn't be in the game, but I don't think OP was talking about the piece.

  • You clearly don't play much Huntress because tombstone isn't even close in effectiveness to iri head and infantry belt. I'll only agree that tombstone piece needs to be nerfed or removed because that add-on is legitimately busted. You get no movement speed penalty and can insta kill up to 2 survivors in virtually no time at all if you combine in with J. Myers' memorial? Hell naw, this add-on seriously needs to be removed. The full Tombstone is fine though imo. Just take the insta Mori and move on, or let the man get the achievement. If your teammates fed him that's their fault, not the fault of the add-on. You are a team of 4 after all (emphasis on the word 'team'). Is it fun to go against? Not really. But you almost never see a tombstone Myers and frankly I'd rather be insta-killed by the big Chad himself than go against yet another Deathslinger or Freddy at this point.

  • You're likely making more mistakes and you just don't realise it, or survivors really are getting better so you may have to step up your game to keep up. This patch is also extremely buggy and broken so you could probably use that as an excuse rn lmao, I know I have. Literally 1 dead hard to avoid a hit has actually worked as survivor this week, out of maybe 15 tries to avoid one. And as killer, a lot of them have really weird camera issues right now. I wanted to try out the new pyramid head but holy hell that camera wobble after cancelling his power is so disorienting. It's as though he downed 12 pints right before the trial started and can barely walk straight anymore.

  • I've played against 1 Billy who was using muffler. Unless I was in a chase I couldn't hear the chainsaw at all. He was also running iri brick but you have to have been moving with the saw for more than a few seconds before it makes you undetectable and I know for sure he wasn't travelling for that long before I should've heard it. Also it's a sound bug on Billy, so are we really that surprised if this add-on is bugged lmao.

I suppose we can't really blame those devs for sucking their players wallets dry, if majority of those players are willing to waste their money whenever something new is released. Money is more important then happy fanbase, it's just disappointing that people still fall for the same thing over and over again, definition of insanity, wasn't it? Doing the same, but expecting different outcomes.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1706848#Comment_1706848

    1. Yea, this is what I meant, I'm not native eng, but thanks, will remember :p

    2. Yeah, but that's quite the point you see. Most of you have been there, many of you probably still are and you're taking whatever devs throw at you without a grunt or anything? Not doing anything and accepting things as they are aren't gonna do much either don't you think?

    3. Perhaps, but I didn't receive any alternative in that term. Are you suggesting that every boycott/strike in history was useless? Isn't boycott some sort of entry to revolts and so?

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1707119#Comment_1707119

Soul guard is from paid dlc though, isn't it? So unless it appears in shrine I doubt I'll have opportunity to get it other way. Also it's quite situational perk, if killer isn't playing hex you're basically wasting perk slot, isn't it?

Not really a waste of a perk slot even if you aren't cursed, the endurance effect is still very good and many killers still aren't playing around it, only the good killers are and they rarely tunnel in the first place so it's still really useful, especially against the ones that will immediately try and re-slug the survivor that got picked up. It is paid DLC though, so unless you're willing to fork over some cash or wait maybe another 6 months or so to even get the chance to see it in the shrine you're out of luck. The new WGLF is also something I highly recommend running, the double healing speed for people who are slugged on the ground is actually soooo nice. I run We'll Make It sometimes and you can literally pick people up off the ground in less than 5 seconds. There are some really nice options for healing synergy for survivor right now and it's sort of my main playstyle now in my group. Empathy, desperate measures, autodidact, wglf, we'll make it etc. As an M1 killer it's probably a nightmare to keep up with survivors getting turbo-healed.

  • Why NOED? It's usually a waste of a perk slot on almost every build but this one NOED is especially useless. Why not something like corrupt or ruin? Because without any kind of slowdown there is no chance that you're gonna get to tier 3 without either a very good map or a very potato set of survivors.

  • But why on earth would you not start the sale on the day of the event...on what planet does that make sense?

    Discounts?

Well, as a conscious buyer I never buy anything day one, so only I will benefit from this, the devs are giving me free daily login rewards, so this time, aside from the "103" bugs plaguing the game, I really have nothing to complain about!

Look I'm happy for you and all, but this "passive consumer" ######### is what enables BHVR to continue degrading the player experience with no consequences. "Hey I got something so I'm happy!" Don't ever be happy with getting the bare minimum from a company that only sees you as a dollar. Demand more from your entertainment (especially when it's something you bought...and continue to support by throwing money their way for DLC every 3 months as well as overpriced cosmetics and all they do is continue to chip away at the player experience just enough everytime so people won't cause an uproar. They took too much away this time though and people are catching on lmao)

  • I've noticed that tunnelling is much more frequent the last few days. Played against a Doctor who would only facecamp and tunnel once someone went for the unhook and managed to get a 2k because of NOED. Dude was on azarov's too with pretty bad pallet RNG for us, he definitely could've killed us all if he actually played the game. Killers are getting weirder man. I haven't played much killer recently but I've never felt it necessary to go these lengths to not play the game, but hey, whatever floats their boat I guess. DS and soul guard exist for a reason, and with the new wglf getting people up off the ground safely is quite easy now.

It is super easy to track her, if you are using a headset. The 2ish seconds are more that enough to know where she is coming from. Only thing she can suprise survivors now is with super speedy add-ons.

You know it's almost like it's also super easy to track survivors if you have a headset as Spirit. Could it be?! An equal playing field an equal opportunities for counterplay?!?!

It's a bug anyway who cares what anyone thinks about it lol it's gonna get fixed soon enough.

  • The fact that they made this penalty go up to 3 ######### days in the first place for a game as casual as this is obscene. And yeah there's nothing you can do about the game randomly crashing and giving you a penalty. Even if your system and internet are fine this game can still crash like crazy because it has horrific optimisation and it's on unreal engine 4 which has never been the most stable of engines to begin with. And using an alt account is considered ban evasion. So yep, your friend is screwed because DC penalties are perfect in every way and absolutely improve the rich DbD experience :)

  • I like to go make a coffee or finish off a tiny little bit of studying if I know what I still need doing. There's no point being tabbed in the game, even if the last survivor does come and pick you up, it's impossible to win unless the killer has a stroke or something.

that's the point: it's not the killer itself, rather the whole load out. This shows how the game it's balanced around perks, i. e. ruin + undying that gives gen pressure to killers who don't have it.

Fair point. Although I have won many times with perk-less addon-less Clown it doesn't really mean much, and his strength definitely comes from having decent perks and add-ons. And for a killer like Legion it's almost necessary to stack 4 gen perks because you have basically no power. It's the perks that are pulling most of the weight not the power itself.

That is the most backwards logic I have ever read, yeah just ignore the people have spend thousands of hours of their lives playing your game, they don't know any better

It isn't really all that backwards. Sure some of the biggest DbD players have given great suggestions that would absolutely be good changes, but only the very minor ones like Wraith should move faster while cloaked or Trapper should be able to carry up to 2 traps by default. If we let the player base dictate the game as a whole....yeaaaah-no. survivor would become absolutely unplayable, because the majority of complaints are from the killer end. Probably for good reason, but a lot of killers would rather see the survivor side run into the ground than make DbD a balanced experience (and for the average round of DbD, it is pretty balanced for the most part. Generally the side who plays better wins. Only at low-level and high-level play is the game widely unbalanced. At low level it's killer sided and at high level it's survivor sided.)

  • The killers you're whiffing with have a taller camera and are generally just bigger, so your lunge doesn't "seem" like it's going as far as the smaller killers. It is, but if you're used to lunging with smaller killers it can be harder to judge the distance if you're suddenly going from a camera that's close to survivor height to a camera that towers over the survivors.

Uh...does this make sense lol. All you have to do is wait an extra moment before you swing. Tbh I rarely lunge in my matches anyway, I almost always wait for the survivor to stop spinning and then just hit them point-blank. It's always funny when they realise you're just standing there while they're trying to spin around like a maniac.

that's because most killers are not viable and they are perk and add-on dependent. It's like saying that clown with ruin, undying, tinkerer, and with the exhaustion and extra hindering add-ons is viable...

Every killer is viable at every rank, wish people would stop saying that certain killers are "not viable" when that's not true at all. And that Clown build is pretty nasty, I don't see the problem with it. You shouldn't lose many games with that if you're good at killer.

  • My man really needs to sort out that posture. That can't be healthy.
