Sure it's free...if you pay into the system in the first place, and now you have an obligation to finish every single battle pass or else you feel like not only like you're gonna miss out if you don't, but now that you've paid for it you don't want to pay for it again when you know you can get your money back if you grind it out every time. So it's not free, it also replaces most of if not all of your reasoning for continuing to play, even if you don't want to
-
So can someone clarify this: the code is just shown on-stream, and it's whoever types it/them in first gets the charm? Not even randomly giving out the codes via DM or linking your DbD profile to twitch? If that's the case then B R U H. That's literally worse than when valorant were doing key drops, and things like CSGO and overwatch loot box drops in tournament streams. At least there they were randomly distributed and were sent directly to your account.

I was genuinely just curious. Good lord this community is filled with #########
Considering the amount of posts you have on the forums you must have known the type of response you'd get from making this post. Oh and my response to your original post is:
Overall this game isn't killer or survivor sided. At the lower ranks it's very killer sided, but at the highest level play it's absolutely survivor sided, but for the average/above average player it's pretty balanced, and usually it's down to the skill of the players and the better side wins. I think the whole "game is survivor sided" mindset comes from people not willing to accept they make mistakes and have serious holes in their game. Yeah sometimes you get ######### over by map RNG, the game being terrible and not working but more often than not it's because they were outplayed, made mistakes and refuse to admit that they did, and as a result they don't improve and continue to blame the game for their losses.

Fallout 76 reference?
Yep, that game takes the cake for the worst monetisation I've ever seen. Bethesda's pricing strategy for that game is obscene. Since release they got exponentially worse with it and now it's at an all-time low. To me it's still the single worst game of all time and probably always will be, and it and Fallout 4 are a disgrace to the Fallout franchise as a whole.
-
When it comes to introducing new content to keep players coming back and spending time on the game they really couldn't give any less of a ######### anymore LOL. This new event and monetisation is actually laughable. Granted it's not like we're spending $8 on an in-game fridge or anything but they're not far off.
-
Yup, they've added more pre-dropped god pallets to a realm that absolutely didn't need pre-dropped god pallets. That window was fine with the open door next to it, what the literal ######### was the reasoning behind adding that stupid breakable wall there and removing a pallet from the building? This just pisses off both sides because now the building is next to useless after the pallet gets dropped and the wall is broken, but before that the killer absolutely has to take the time to break the wall because it's a god setup if you don't. I don't even know anymore...did they even think about this for more than 30 seconds??

Yay, another thing broken.
Hopefully, this is just a BUG, not intended, nothing more than a BUG, going to be resolved, because it's just a BUG.
(Hint hint, people. Don't support bugs.)
Well when bugs turn into interesting features that should stay, I'm all for supporting them. Like this one.

Huh, that sounds the same as when she was released, during that time I think you could hear her phasing directionally and she was really bad until she got buffed.
I wonder how long will that take to fix (if it even will get fixed), probably longer then recent DS bug that affected a few killers making DS much worse vs them.
Specifically were you able to hear the moaning/wailing sounds she makes or the vacuum "wshhh" sound she makes while phasing? Because if it was the 2nd one it's nothing like that, you only periodically hear her wails and they're not entirely directional, but they do give you a rough idea where she is.
-
I hope this bug turns into a feature and they keep it. Doesn't nerf her all that much because you're still moving at mach 5 but at least now survivors know the general direction you're coming from if they pay attention and can make some kind of play based on that. I really like this change and hope it stays. It also really adds to the atmosphere imo, hearing her wailing noises move around you, knowing sort of where she is but not exactly which is what I think Spirit should've been like in the first place.
Please BHVR, of all the bugs you can fix, don't fix this one, me and everyone else will probably finally shut up about Spirit.

I've said before that the best thing they can do is to re-code it all to fix a majority of the bugs. And if it brings back players, then it can't be that bad an option.
Unfortunately companies these days don't care about bringing veteran players back, they only care about bringing new players in.

Still better than Bethesda. And like I said, they'll get there eventually so there's no need to light the torches and sharpen the pitchforks.
Are you certain they'll get round to fixing it? If we're right about how the game's actually coded and it's actual spaghetti code they're working with, I don't see them fixing some of the most broken bugs unless they literally recreated the game from the ground up which is way too much time and money spent on something that won't get them anything in return.
-
Nah he's definitely clunkier and not as fluid. They didn't fix the issues he had in the PTB either, all they did was make him even clunkier than he was before this patch and make his power more spammable. You can still cancel your M2 into M1, the timing is jus harder. So weird, they have to have messed something up before putting the patch on live or they really didn't do much to fix his issues in the 3 weeks time between the PTB and the live patch..
-
I also spotted that the Meg in the clip didn't make any noise when falling the 2nd time and she doesn't have BL lmao. So sounds are still bad this patch as well.
-
@PigMainClaudette said:
Bruh, if this was a Bethesda game, they'd be completely game breaking and called "features". At least these ones will be patched out. Eventually.
The thing is, a lot of them haven't been patched out for months now, and things like Billy's anims and lack of sound periodically are now probably considered features by the devs.
-
Yeah I thought they were gonna fix him but nothing was really changed except he feels clunky and he can spam his power more. I said I was gonna give PH a serious try this update but all they did was clunk him up even more...they have to have messed something up, there's no way they intended for him to play like this in the update (probably due to lack of testing, or not watching people play the PTB and not listening to people like otz who probably know this killer better than they do?
-
Getting really tired of seeing these posts. I and many others literally go over the same points as to why people hate him in detail and people still refuse to listen. It's like we're talking to brick walls at this point. I'll say it one more time: instant ads with no time to react to any part of his power, with near instant travel speed on his projectile at short to mid range is not fun to play against and it's dumb.
He zones people for free because, like we've said dozens of times, instant ads means there's nothing visual or auditory to use as survivor, and he basically zones you at 110% ms. I don't know why you're baffled when people tell you exactly why they dislike DS.
You're against a killer that can shoot you instantly with no time to react to any part of the power so your skill as a survivor is useless, your knowledge of Deathslinger is useless because it's literally point and click and nothing you learned playing him can translate to playing against him, you have to hope the Deathslinger misses.

It's more that I want some perk variety from Survivors to make the games less boring. Even if I was playing the more unique Killers, that wouldn't change the stale loadouts from most Red Ranks
The most perk variety that's actually viable to run that I've seen would be something like a locker build. The other "variety" perks really aren't that good in the slightest. The "Vault into disappear" build with Dance With Me, Lithe and Q&Q looks fun, but you're taking up 3 entire perk slots to do something that will rarely work against good killers and is very situational and based on where you are on the map. I think it's up to BHVR to try and actually buff more of these different perks because right now there's no real reason to run them over the current meta, and the fun you might get out of them is very short and sweet when you realise your entire build is based around one single gimmick that's already very situational.
-
Frustration usually leads to people making bad judgements about things, and DbD can definitely make people frustrated. Unfortunately we're at the mercy of the game most of the time and it will decide what we're angry about next, it's not usually the community's fault.

It just makes killer feel very cheated when a survivor falls down only 1 foot from a tree root, and then zips off. It feels unintended in comparison to other exhaustion perks.
If a survivor knew about the tree, and had balanced landing in the current year I definitely wouldn't feel cheated, I'd commend them for actually knowing and using something that's kind of niche and very specific. Why would you feel cheated? It's literally like a 99ed sprint burst. Are you gonna tell me that you don't feel cheated when a survivor runs, stops for a split second and then zips off with SB but you cross the line at a survivor running up the roots of a tree and falling off?
-
Really? Because from what I've seen he still has the "M2 into M1" shtick, it's just harder now and more of a niche timing. And he can now spam the living hell out of his ranged attack.

I'm describing a rank 1 SWF team.
A rank 1 SWF team would only do this for the meme with no intention of winning the actual match. It really isn't that abuseable. If survivors are trying to do this in your game I can guarantee they're not winning unless you royally mess up.

What's so bad about hag besides her hook traps?
She's designed for proxy camping and being as uninteractive as possible with the rest of the game. You press M2 around half the map until you hear someone trigger your trap, then you hit ctrl and lunge at the survivor who triggered it. Repeat, keep placing traps and teleporting to them when a survivor triggers them and never taking a chase, proxy camping the people you have on hook and tunnelling them out of the game because you don't chase as Hag. Wow, fun and thought provoking gameplay for the whole family to enjoy.
-
@MadLordJack said:
She's honestly not as hard as people like to pretend. In fact, I'd go so far as to say that people that don't really know how to play her make it harder for themselves.
Learn how to blink. That's the hardest part about playing her, because you have to learn the precise amount of charge-to-distance time. Once you've done that, it's all about these two very, very simple tactics: Use your first blink to get close/get to where they broke LoS, use your second blink to hit them. And don't be afraid to just float around quite a lot. Who cares if they get distance, you're Nurse.
Seriously, she's mechanically hard, but once you've reached that skill floor then you're going to win nearly every single game by default, because most of her "counterplay" relies on the nurse blinking too much and falling for basic tricks. I don't even think she's the hardest killer in the game, just the one with the highest skill floor.
Oh my god I love you. Glad I'm not the only one here who also thinks Nurse's difficulty is overrated. Mechanically challenging at first and then after you learn her blink distances you realise that all the survivors can really do is "double back or not double back" and the thing you do as Nurse to counter that is "hold M2 less or hold M2 more". Damn, this is the hardest killer ever to play guys, I have to use so much of my brain to play her properly.

I can give you a top tier suffering build!
Bamboozle,brutal strenght,stbfl,beast of prey.
If you manage to win a single match with this build, you'll be my only and one god
That...doesn't sound hard at all. Nurse doesn't really need perks to win, you could probably do it in a day. The only thing that I'd consider hard about that build would be getting used to no shadowborn.
-
You know they have to be healed by someone running the perk and the guy getting healed or doing the healing also has to be the obsession lmao. So there needs to be someone injured. This perk is still trash-tier and won't be ran by anybody unless they want to screw around with other meme perks. Remember when everyone was saying For The People was gonna be a ridiculous swf perk? Yeaaah look at how many people are running it now.
-
Well if anything it confirms that BHVR are gonna stick with this horrendous perk-tier system while the game continues to get bigger and get even more perks and characters added to the game...very good decision... the aura reading is now consistent, but they had to introduce another arbitrary mechanic to the perk so it can be justified to have 3 different tiers. So discordance is now useless at any other tier than 3 like many other perks. All they had to do was swap the tier 1 and tier 3 strengths around and that was literally it but they made it more complicated for like no reason lmao

Healing someone from the dying state takes a bit of time. If the killer is cocky enough to leave a survivor on the ground and another survivor is able to heal them, then they should absolutely get a token for WGLF.
You know the one change to wglf that everyone was asking for on the PTB was this exact thing...I think it's now confirmed that ptb feedback is quite literally useless, as well as the feedback tab on the forums. What's even the point of suggesting things anymore lmao, especially if mods are just gonna dump anything that even slightly resembles a suggestion to the game in here, creating this massive backlog of topics that's impossible to get through and find the actual good threads again (and that's assuming they actually have the time to look through them in the first place, the amount that's currently on their plate I'm pretty sure they don't)
-
The roar, the awful new animations that look like he's still in a pre-alpha state, his sensitivity changes that made curving worse, the second nerf that while it didn't do much basically told me that BHVR absolutely will force you to acknowledge their brand new shiny mechanics whether it was a good change or not. His camera and the animations and and the roar all give me a headache. Babysitting an overheat mechanic is stupid but I could live with it if we had the old Billy anims back. That's why. He's absolutely not fun anymore and is a chore to play and to look at. And the overheat mechanic definitely did change the way you play him, unless you're the kind of Billy player that only goes for backrevs.

Best tactic against that combo: Don't give them what they want but take the reigns. They think being like that holds the biggest entertainment value, try to take the mic from them. it's tricky, but can work out.
Idk I always think to just play the match out. I might play a little bit more of a scumbag if the opportunity arises but that's really it. Unless they're all running sprint burst and object and send me to Midwich. I refuse to play that out and will just DC (and if I get banned for saying this then lol see you on the other side because I know admitting to DCing on the forums is punishable by death by the mods.)

what's your strat against 4x4 ooo and spinechill?
Play the game? Idk either they're not very good and have no idea how to use object and spine chill or they're actually good and would've had a good chance of winning even without those perks. You're not expected to win against that, just like you're not expected to win against a good nurse. Just play it out, move onto the next one because you're probably not gonna have many matches where every survivor has object and spine chill. That's incredibly rare.
-
Ikr? Those pesky twitch streamers playing the videogame and using perks. How could they do that to you?! Killer mains are always so oppressed I propose survivors never use perks because they are not fun to go against as a killer main.

I disagree whole heartedly that the game would lose HALF its players. Why would killers prefer to opt out of swf? What possibly could chase killers to solo queues? The reasons to keep swfs as a forced option are bad examples. Omg killers would overpower us. Nooo the game would fold and die off. Only swfs can save us. They bring money but the new players who don't have to be forced to play against swfs bring money in too. I hope they make it an option to play with or against swfs. I truly thibk it would bring a bigger audience.
Pretty sure there were stats somewhere that showed at least half the people who play this game play with their friends.
"Why would killers opt out of SWF?" Idk because playing against 4 solo survivors with no Comms is almost always going to be an easier match than a SWF team with comms? So why wouldn't they choose, and I'll say it again, the path of least resistance especially if that path has literally no downsides for them?
I never said killers would be overpowering. And you haven't given good reasons for the option to exist either. How would effectively saying "hey you can't play this multiplayer game with your friends because your queue times will be an hour long" bring MORE people into the game?!
Look I'm really sorry but I just don't see where you're coming from with this.
-
I had 3 false saws in a row as Billy once. Didn't happen too long ago either, it was post-animation-butchering but pre-nerf. It was at that moment where I decided that Billy was simply no longer for me and I have almost never played him again. Oh yeah and I guess playing Hag one time is one of the worst things I've ever done that permanently lowered my IQ by at least 4.
-
@no_way55 said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1688278#Comment_1688278
Absolutely it would be the path of least resistance but also some would elevate their own skills instead of relying on the swf option. Not all killers are op same can be said for survivors. The option should be available! why are so many freaked about this option. Again i am not saying get rid of swfs. Just give all players killer and survivor the choice.
Based on the killer mains I've seen on here....hahahahaha there's no way any of them would ever queue for SWF if they had the option to. Some things just don't need an option, and a SWF queue option would absolutely kill the game. I'm sorry if you think otherwise but there's absolutely no way there'll be enough killers to play against swf groups, and the game would lose about half of its players. The rest will be queueing forever in killer queues because nobody likes playing solo survivor.
-
Well his upcoming changes will make the "me hold M2 at everything and there's nothing you can do" not very viable because of the cooldown afterwards (you can still do it though so unless they fix it the change is probably gonna do nothing)

Dude, these stats claim that every 8 games 1 gen gets completed, with the previous 7 having not a single one completed. Is that your experience, too? 5 gens completed would have to be so unbelievably rare that it´s basically impossible to achieve and would be shown as outstandingly sick performance montages on YT only the top 0,001% of players could ever achieve.
With these stats, 4k/3k+ hatch at 5 gens IS the average. I find that very hard to believe.
Regarding Scott, yes he definately has Blight down to a T. Maybe the Killer is due to some nerfs, just like Undying, idk I only played a handful of games for the achievements.
There are also SWF teams that 4e 9/10 matches. What you´re bringing up is just one input of the bigger picture.
Eh, who knows where they're pulling these stats from, but if we're being completely honest, the average gen completion is probably not much higher than 2. That's the highest I'd go. And 5 gens completed probably is quite rare if you consider how many people are in the lower ranks where it's very killer sided because survivors have no idea how to play the game yet.
And the swf teams are also just one part of the bigger picture no? There aren't many 4 man SWF groups in the game, it's mainly 2 or 3-man, and they don't escape that often from what I've seen, nor do they even get a lot of gens done in the first place because they're just screwing around because they're bored.
-
Iron grasp is only good for basement builds, and even then basement builds aren't exactly designed to win effectively, only to annoy. I use agitation on nurse and wraith sometimes. Nurse doesn't usually need to slug all that much and wraith is good at the whole "down, hook, pop, down, hook"...etc so I sometimes replace spirit fury with agi. He's the only killer I still run pop on so anything to get me to hooks faster I'll take.
-
If you throw the match and go out of your way to make sure they don't get off the hook, aren't you likely giving them what they want? And it's not like it's such a big deal anyway, they're on the ground unable to do anything while someone else is on the hook. It might be annoying, sure, but it's not something to throw the game over.
-
@Slashstreetboy said:
No way....0.16 gens done on average, sure. I don´t know about you guys, but in my experience it´s not 1 gen for every 8 trials played. LMFAO xD
This would mean that 5gen 4ks are the average . Dam, seems I´m way worse a Killer than I thought I was, I´m so bad I don´t 5gen 4k 7/8 matches as Trapper, Myers and Clown, back to Slasher school for me I guess.
Maybe it's not 4k at 5 gens, but for a lot of people I've talked to and seen on twitch, 4k or 3k + hatch is their average kill count. You don't see Scott losing many games. In fact I don't even remember watching a match where he's lost as Blight yet.
-
I mean when you think about it they're probably not far off at all. Ranks 20-12 or so are incredibly killer-sided, it's a miracle if those survivors get even one gen done sometimes. Then after that it evens out slightly and then at red ranks it's back to more of the same where killers are definitely winning much more than they're losing. I definitely see more killer 3k's and 4k's in my games and on twitch than 1 or 2k's, and I almost never have all survivors escape, that almost never happens anymore.

Imagine if huntress had 1 hatchet, and every time she had to use it she had a large cooldown and had to reload.
Also, imagine if thus shot wouldn't even hit most of the time, because survivors can put ######### in between you.
Imagine if she also had a range cap of 15 meters.
The only thing she has in return is an instant shot and a small terror radius.
Not saying he is an inferior huntress, but he is definitely not better.
To you maybe, but to me Deathslinger is top 4. Virtually nonexistent TR, the insta windup alone not only zones people for free due to fear of being hit by it at any moment, but ends chases before they even begin. he's not limited to finding lockers, much less map dependent than Huntress. No I definitely think he's better. If you don't that's fine but people seem to recoil at even the thought of someone saying Huntress is worse than him and I don't know why.
-

Why would killers only play solo queues? Because they are tired of toxic swfs? It would kill the game. Really? I don't think it would. I think it would balance it. Because there would be choices for solo players currently and new incoming that won't have to endure the swf option unless they want too. The game has more then enough cocky and solid players without the forced swf option. I am not saying get rid of it. Just allow the players to have the option.
That's the thing though. You give players the option, they're obviously going to take the path of least resistance. Literally nobody here would queue into SWF matches if they had the option. I still probably would because queue times would be shorter with the option on, but survivor would be dead to almost everyone. I wouldn't find a game as survivor if I were to queue with my friends, and that's the only way survivor is the least bit fun: when you actually have friends to mess around with.

You got the first 2 words right. The 3rd is a big no-no word that would be censored if I typed it.

Um, you have any examples? I haven't seen anyone that vocal against Deathslinger mains. Anyway even if it's true, hate the game not the player. You can hate something in the game all you want, but if you start to target people who enjoy something you don't that's just ridiculous and you're a PoS for doing so.
