Again you are making us vs them..We all see that you don't like killers and you are extremely biased..First play killer at red ranks then talk, you are just showing you never really played killer in high level.

I'm making it an us Vs them just because I'm not agreeing with the majority on the forum? I have played killer at red ranks so I'll talk: killer is quite easy even at red ranks. This entire game is easy to play, it's as simple as it gets: kill survivors or survive against a killer. Nothing in this game is particularly complex or complicated, it was literally designed that way. Sorry that it's not aligning with your agenda but that's just how it is. I'm not biased because I find a role easy, ######### is it with you people? If someone doesn't agree with you they're not allowed to have an opinion?

Did you even played the killer at red ranks? NO I'm sorry. Did you even played the killer in dbd?

Killer is really not that bad. Maybe 1 in 10 games are actually somewhat of a challenge. It's never been easier to play killer. That's probably not the reason for op quitting but still, killer and survivor are of very similar difficulty now and there's no denying that. Especially with ruin+undying

  • I see very few dumb people like that as killer. I see a "couple" as survivor (i.e the number goes up to 1 in 15 matches instead of 1 in 30). The amount of times I've had people talk ######### at me in the endgame chat over my nearly 2 year of playing I could probably count them on 2 hands. So it begs the question: what the hell are you forum killer mains doing to these survivors so often that they go out of their way to talk ######### more often than not?

  • From what people have told me, Spirit's core design is to strip the player of any information because that's "pArT oF her DeSiGn". So by definition, Spirit has no effective way of countering her and anyone who says she does whilst also saying her lack of info is a part of her whole design are talking out their ass. She's bs in a chase so don't give her one and do gens. That's kind of it.

  • SWF is the only time this game is any kind of challenge as killer, people really need to grow a pair and actually accept the challenge, because you don't have many games in DbD that are actually hard. Yeah you're not expected to win against a tournament squad who picked an Ormond offering but if you know that team, there now exists an offering to negate all other map offerings. And you can usually get 1 or 2 kills depending on the killer you chose anyway.

  • Idk I think it's pretty fun. Killer had never been easier. All it takes is one bad player on their team, or one mistake on the beginning and they lose.

Also in a lot of your games you're getting survivors that play "like their lives depend on it"? That's... exactly the reason why they're playing in the first place. If they don't play well they die, what a weird statement to make.

  • @Angelicus23 said:

tried in kyf with a friend. You pretty much see they're doing it, specially when you use a small killer or the survivor is male

You'll be surprised how much it works in-game though. A lot of killers play this game on autopilot. Not only the reason they lose because they're not thinking about what the best course of action is, but it's also the reason these techs still get into "survivor juke compilation number 593".

  • Maybe they've been against a ton of legions today and were sick of playing against them, Idk.

  • Honestly I'd rather get teams like this sometimes. Game's so boring now and you barely have to try against any of the survivor groups you come across. A match like this would definitely shake things up a bit.

  • It's still ridiculously strong. You still get 0 effort wallhacks. Not as horrendous anymore but it's still strong. You can nerf the duration and range all you want but the aura reading and condition to activate it is still gonna make it his best add-on.

Aura reading killer add-ons in general have always felt quite cheap to me. Keys too. Idc about the key itself, the effect is kind of meaningless, but when someone uses the add-on to let them see the killer's aura and knows how to use it it's dumb.

  • @selflessnea said:

That sad moment when you type gg and a salty player types you are only saying that because you won :,(

They're probably right half of the time though tbf.

  • Lol wat. Looping is the only part of the game that survivors and killers interact with each other and where you get to show some skill. Camping is completely uninteractive and shows 0 skill but I also couldn't care less about it. If you think camping is fun and what you need to do to win or whatever it's your life go for it. Camping pallets however...I just want to sit these people down and have a very long discussion on efficiently using pallets. There's more to chases than standing at a piece of wood and pressing space when the bad guy comes near you.

  • @Blueberry said:

The game stops being scary and losses its horror aspect when you realize the killer isn't the power role.

While not entirely solving the issue, the game would seem much scarier if they were.

Survivors don't have this stupid "power role" either. It's whichever side is better than the other because it's a multiplayer. Can people stop saying "power role"? It's so pathetic that people want BHVR to make a particular side stronger than the other...in a multiplayer PvP game. If you're better at the game than the other side you're going to win. If you're not then you lose.

    Relax.

I was talking about ruin and Pop. Don't those like not work with each other?

Ok, I overreacted and didn't need to, but it happens all the time. People not taking a post seriously because they don't like the build that was used. It gets annoying you know?

  • 15% extra pallet breaking speed and reduced stun time from pallets in tier 3

Start at tier 2, let him temporarily move down into tier 1 for about 10 or so seconds with the push of a button, or whilst stalking and improve his stalk movement speed.

That's really all you have to do and he'll be decent and fun to play again.

  • @GhostyyBoi said:

    So we're ignoring the build?

Yeah because this post is about totems and gens, and not Freddy builds (actually nobody's ignoring the build because you're all complete children and can't help it for some reason)

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1683057#Comment_1683057

What about my build? Is there something impractical about gen defense?

People like to rag on others when they see something in a build they don't like, happens all the time it's like they can't help it. I wouldn't pay much mind to these people. I remember someone who posted regularly on here would censor their perks and add-ons, it was probably for this reason because these people want to switch the topic to something completely unrelated

  • People just wanna discuss franchises and potentially new characters with each other. That's it. Everyone knows that their "requests" fall on deaf ears they just wanna talk about their favourite characters potentially making it to DbD because that's a fun thing to do.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/198104/maybe-some-people-need-to-rethink-their-definition-of-fun

Tell me how to counter Deathslinger's ability to zone and I will happily change tactics in order to have more fun. "Split up and rush gens" or "hope he's bad" are not really my idea of counterplay.

When you have killers like DS who don't care about a survivors input nah there's no way to counter their abilities. All you can do is counter the killer by slamming gens. Is it fun? No. Is it rewarding and skillful? No. But that's just the way DbD is sometimes. I'd much rather be doing something different than going out of my to NOT interact with Deathslingers, Hags and spirits but hey it is what it is :/ at least killers like blight, Huntress, Demo and wraith still exist. Never bored against those guys unless it's iri head or compound 21

  • Sneaky. Very sneaky. But I'll let it slide. Glad you're having more fun though.

Why do people load up for games they don't want to play? It ruins the game for every other player in the trial, you shouldn't be able to do that without consequence.

However I agree slugging for the 4K and most of the bugs need a fix before this gets implemented.

There aren't any fixes to these problems, which is why people want out of matches in the first place. There are literally no solutions to perma slugging and slugging for the 4k that don't involve completely changing how the game works. Also this is to your first point, some matches are over in the first 60 seconds of it starting, so people want out ASAP because it's pointless to play out the match. Why should they be punished for wanting to leave or afk an impossible match and instead be forced to play it out? The way killer and survivor pressure works is so unbelievably snowball heavy and unpredictable in DbD, why should someone not be allowed to get out of a match that's already been lost?

  • @MusicNerd_TC said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1682624#Comment_1682624

Then we do an afk penalty, if you stay still for too long, you are kicked out of the game with a penalty.

Get kicked out of the game and penalised for being afk against a killer who just wants to slug the team for 4 minutes? Or if you get into a bug that literally makes you unable to move, killer or survivor? You know how many bugs we've had in the last 12 months alone that have done that to both sides? Or better yet, a killer that refuses to hook you when you want to get out of a match because they wanna be ######### about it? Definitely not in favour of that. Why can't people just leave games they don't want to play and people just carry on to the next? According to most people on here they don't care about the outcome of matches, and the ranking system doesn't matter so why should it matter that someone wants out of a game?

  • @HollowsGrief said:

They still need to do something about survivors killing themselves on the hook, there is no difference between d/cing and killing yourself, you screw the killer and your team all the same.

Then they just afk and watch videos until they inevitably die on hook or bleed out. No matter what you cannot force someone to play a match that they don't want to play.

  • Killers are really scared of people who are asking to be chased for some reason, even though chasing someone like that should be seen as a fun challenge (at least I see it like that. If I'm playing Blight or a killer I don't use often I'll throw the entire match to have chases with those people because they're usually better runners than the usual survivor bunch and I can get some good practice in)

  • @MadLordJack said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1682256#Comment_1682256

You cannot call someone "skillful" if they don't show it, and against a Nurse there really is no way to show it. Everyone is forced into using the most basic, easy, simple tactic in the game: ignore everything and rush the gens.

Seriously, how is that hard to understand? There is no difference between a good player and a bad one, because its all boring tactics and no actual skill.

I'm aware that it's not difficult to do. I'm aware it's stupid. But honestly 99% of players can't even do this properly against Nurse which is why at this point it is more of a display of skill than anything else you can do against her next to holding W after you get hit by her.

  • Yep, I'm the same at this point. My friends rarely if ever want to play so survivor is almost always off the table, solo q against constant Freddies, Deathslingers and spirits is absolutely miserable without having friends there to talk with. Literally no point to even playing survivor at that point when the one thing you can have fun doing in solo q is meaningless.

And killer is too stale, the fov still isn't adjustable, you either fight babies and stomp them, or 3 decent players with 1 baby and still win without much effort. They really need to do something about this game but it might already be too late.

  • @MadLordJack said:

I'm not putting words in you mouth, you literally said that that's what skillful players do. Your words, your mouth, strawmanning yourself.

Skillful players imply that they're good at the game, and if you're good at the game you won't get in a chase with these killers. Never said it requires skill, and I never said it was particularly fun or what should happen I just said this is how a good player will counter a nurse or Deathslinger. How hard is this to understand?

I was just mocking him, since he talked about billy now offering a challenge, when billy always offered that when using a skilled playstyle. The irony being him having a picture of pyramid head, which really offers a big challenge with the animation lock hit. Just wanted to see whether he has anything to offer in that regard but that is mostly the case with the people that talk about it, they just talk.

On the bright side, double engravings are still around but I think just for the best billies out there.

Ah right sorry, didn't see the irony right away. And true double engravings are for the best Billy players now but they're not playing Billy anymore. Not even battleguy plays Billy anymore he's been playing Nurse. But I could be wrong, he might still be playing Billy rarely every now and then, haven't checked into his stream in a while. His sens on nurse without shadowborn hurts my eyes lmao

  • Playing against Hag I'm basically playing a single player game where I am filling out a series of tasks until I might go down out of my control, where I will now be afk on a hook for 2 minutes (or taken off a hook, immediately slugged by the skillful Hag, and thrown back on the hook. Playing as hag is also like playing a single player game. You don't care what survivors are doing at all, your core playstyle is to proxy camp everything in sight. And chases? Lmao what chases? That being said if you like hag keep playing her, who cares what everyone else thinks.

  • @Endstille said:

Cool i always enjoy billy compilations of sick flicks against good survivors, share some of yours will you?

If you're asking for people to have any clips of flicking as new Billy then uh....yeah no you're out of luck. That playstyle with double engravings is dead.

  • This is probably the biggest reason as to why a bunch of people aren't happy with the latest chapter. This isn't how you hype up a brand new upcoming DLC at all, with a *kinda* misleading trailer, then the PTB product being completely different to what the majority were expecting. I still love the hell out of Blight, best killer they've ever made by far, but they could've definitely marketed it better.

  • Off topic slightly but Why was this thrown into feedback and suggestions and not into the bug report section...really don't like how the mods on here unceremoniously dump so many posts in here, way way too many for the team to even read half of them and the good ones get buried because of 50 other posts that get spewed in here

  • @Moundshroud said:

In my experience the rating a Killer has is in regards to the "learning curve," i.e. how difficult are they to become truly proficient. Some are easier to master than others.

That applies to perhaps 1 or 2 killers. Freddy, Doctor, GhostFace, Myers and Oni have a hard difficulty according to the game, but I couldn't say with a straight face that any of these killers have a hard learning curve lmao.

  • @MadLordJack said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1680917#Comment_1680917

And where exactly is the skill in that? Please, do explain the hours and hours of blood, sweat and tears that went into said good old-fashioned genrush.

Where exactly did I say it took skill? It doesn't, but a player who was good at the game would know their skill doesn't mean much against a Nurse, Deathslinger, Spirit and would therefore not get in a chase and slam gens. I'm all for these killers becoming more skill based to play against but the truth is that's never gonna happen so the way you counter these killers is hardcore stealth and gen rushing, and try and have fun chases with the other killers when you run across them. So don't put words into my mouth I complain about these killers more than anyone on this forum.

It is exceptionally difficult to hit good survivors out in the open with the PH power. Even at regular loops most good players will have little problem dodging multiple M2s since it is an extremely telegraphed attack and gives you alot of time to dodge it. Anyone who can 360 huntress hatchets can dodge open area PH M2s. That's why everyone (except myself apparently) is just feathering instead of actually using it. I'm actually looking forward to the change at this point since I love going for ambitious M2s.

So if the complaint is that it is only being feathered and used at windows / pallets; i'd say demo does the same thing but even better in a ton of cases. If the complaint is about his entire kit overall I can see that, but alot of people complain about the zoning in particular while waiting for the survivor to get stuck into an animation lock which demo, deathslinger, huntress, etc all do as well.

Demo and Huntress zone really well but they're slower than the survivor while fully charging and are at a point where they can hit you (with the exception of rat liver obviously, I want that dumb add-on removed). I mean it's gonna be mostly water under the bridge soon anyway providing they fix the fast cancel thing you could do in the PTB. I'm also looking forward to his changes because ambitious shots through walls are what make pyramid head really fun to play against, it's just nobody did that with him because there was little to no point when you could eventually win any pallet or window situation for free. I like the rest of his kit which is why I always hated playing against and as him, it was just kinda disappointing that he had 1 thing that ruined it, but it's now getting changed.

Ebony promotes tunneling, and yet again nobody will use Ivory

    Try again

And people not using an offering is a problem....how again? And the entire game promotes tunnelling at this point, it's a valid strategy according to the devs so this would like up perfectly with their values. Ivory still has a super strong effect, you just have to play the game a bit before you get to use it to win. Might not be yours or some other certain people's cup of tea but this would still be a good offering. It's not supposed to win you games, it's an offering for Christ's sake.

Or we can change ebony to let you kill up to 2 people after everyone has been hooked. Again, not what someone with a tunnelling playstyle wants to hear but this would be almost a fair offering.

I don't get people who see this as the reason for the PH hate. A very good demogorgon does the same thing but even better since there is even less time to react. He can't make the prediction hits around walls but with rat liver he can basically come around every corner with the shred charged up and you either feed him a pallet (which he instantly breaks) or go down.

    https://clips.twitch.tv/KnottyWildSangRiPepperonis

    That's a decent example.

When demo does it, he eats the pallet. When ph does it, you get hit and/or go down...How do you not get why people hate pyramid head and not Demo??? And yes I am aware rat liver is dumb and I've stopped running it but most demo's don't know how to use it properly so I've not had as bad of a time against it. Everyone can use PH's power.

OP was talking about playing as a survivor, but regardless, the FOV is part of the game's balance. It's that simple. You may disagree with the devs' choice, but you should present the facts as they are.

Also, OP, I play on wide screen and don't have those issues. What resolution are you playing at?

It's such an insignificant part of the game's balance at this point to sacrifice for usability and quality of life that it's not even worth mentioning.

  • Local forum user discovered playing smart as killer makes you win more than lose. More at 11.

*because FOV is part of the game's balance.

    You forgot that part.

Yeah forgot how an extra 15 degrees of FOV without using up a perk slot would literally destroy the entire game balance, making killers too strong and completely destroying stealth because they can now see 1 extra box in their vision. I'll be sure to talk about that next time.

What are you talking about. Survivor use Ormond offerings because it's one of the best maps in the game right now, because

    - it's the only map on day

    - has snow

    - the Clubhouse of the Legion (yes this is a plus)

    - Overall great Design

What are you mean with busted?

With the right setup a survivor can be quite literally invincible against anything but Nurse for well over 5 minutes. By that time all gens will be done. The unique jungle gym tiles are the strongest generic tiles in the game. Snow makes it so ridiculously hard to see scratch marks on sometimes it's insane. Auras are noticeably dimmer too. And you think this map had "overall great design"?

  • @Tricks said:

As PH is a premium killer people complain about him because they:

    • Haven't bought him so they don't own him.
    • Therefore don't know how to play as him.
    • And don't know how to counter him when they play Survivor.

^ Pretty much it right there.

I've bought PH, played him, and the only counter in a chase is to hope he forgot to hold M2 this time and runs into the pallet for some reason.

^ pretty much it right there. Can't wait to try these new changes, might actually enjoy playing him now.

  • Well this is a videogame in 2020 that not only doesn't have decent camera and FOV scaling based on resolutions, it also doesn't have an actual FOV slider. That's why.

  • Corrupt, sloppy, monitor, BBQ. The most basic of basic ######### Deathslinger builds. Works way too good and you'll basically never lose if you know how to aim with iron sights in a video game. Go nuts.

  • @Hoodied said:

I really don’t feel like repeating myself but I will

Devs are looking into moris at the moment, they are harder to balance than you think as the “2 hook then mori” will make them useless

Ebony moris let you kill 1 survivor after they've been hooked once.

Ivory Mori only lets you kill 1 survivor after every survivor has already been hooked

That wasn't so hard, was it?

  • Survivors would be incredibly bored, mindgaming loops effectively would no longer exist, the killer FOV is already horrendous, I don't wanna have to take up another slot on my survivors now to get better FOV, cosmetics would be hidden almost all the time, now leading to buyer's remorse...

    No.

  • Myers needs buffs and changes the most out of any killer. He's so simplistic and has remained the exact same for who knows how long now? Every Myers game starts off the same, you use his power in the same way, you have no chase power so every chase is the standard M1 killer chase, you're constantly having to deal with spine chill as a killer with 0 mobility. He is very meh, definitely in the bottom 5, but it's not the reason I stopped maining him, it's because he's so dull. He needs something exciting to be added to his kit, it's far too outdated.

As far as what would be changed I've seen some cool ideas on the forums recently. Starting in tier 2 and being able to tier down into tier 1 temporarily on a cooldown would be really damn cool. Maybe he gets slightly faster stalking in tier 1 also? And faster pallet break speed in tier 3 would also be great.

Also for nongameplay related changes how ######### cool would it be if Myers entered tier 3 whilst in a chase you and the survivor would hear a more sinister Halloween theme overtake his standard chase music for the rest of the chase?

  • @Xbob42 said:

You should be able to hit the gen with your weapon (as in the same way you'd hit a survivor, no locked animation or progress bar) to get a current kick's effect (i.e. just begin regression at the quarter regression rate) and then do a kick to get instant 5% regression plus Ruin-level regression.

And no, manually kicking gens would not make Ruin substantially weaker, because on top of saving time, it still auto-regresses people any time they get off gens, which includes going for saves, heals, and the like.

I like the first idea. Second idea of having gens regress at ruin level if you kick them is a HARD no from me. The 5% would be cool though. Ruin level regression would be far too much, especially against killers who only play to force a 3 gen. These are already 20 minute stalemates we don't need them becoming even worse.

borrowed time is connected to deep wounds, And I don´t think it´s stupid. when you get saved and the Killer doesn´t hit you it´s great, but when he hits you mending is a small price to pay instead of going down. so i don´t understand what your problem with deep wounds is

It's yet another thing survivors have to hold M1 for and it's not necessary at all. And if it's connected to by just... disconnect it? MoM gives the endurance effect like bt but doesn't also give deep wounds, it wouldn't be hard for them to also apply that to bt and other perks.
