  • Demo absolutely doesn't need changes he's fine. I would even say to remove rat liver but eh it's not all that bad, I don't ever run add-ons on him anymore and the very, very few demos I see don't know how to use rat liver well anyway so overall it's not a big deal.

  • I'm saying remove deep wounds, I didn't mention borrowed time anywhere in my post. Perks that give endurance and killer abilities that give deep wounds stay as is but without deep wounds.

    Slug straight of the gate.

I know how divisive that is in this community, but Clown is one of the fastest when it comes to downing survivors next to insta-down killers, so slugging is a necessary pressure tool Clown HAS to use. Grouped up survivors can be downed, or all injured VERY quickly when THOUGHT is put into WHERE bottles should be thrown.

At every loop think about what the optimal paths survivors need to run, and gas along those paths, which either forces the survivor away from the tile, or they become foolish and try their luck trying to still reach the pallet or vault.

Clown is for players that are already very very good at finding survivors, because Clowns pressure comes from fast chases. If you struggle with this, chuck on the Whispers+Spies combo till you feel confident about tracking and hunting. Clown may not have map pressure, but those gens slow down very quickly when Clown achieves 2 downs in less than 30-40 seconds.

You know I try to tell people on the forums that "ending chases fast" is a good means of getting pressure which is why Deathslinger is good and actually has a ton of it, but they never listen. "He's good at chase but has no pressure at all11!!1" bruh, the map pressure comes from you being good at chases and downing fast.

  • 6 entire seconds of aura reading whenever a survivor runs past a totem whilst undying also having such a strong primary effect is ######### absurd. Can literally watch a survivor move 24 metres, or around almost the entire shack if there's a totem in there. No cooldown or survivor action requirement needed. Should be 3 seconds MAX

Think about I'm all ears: 6 seconds of aura reading only if a survivor vaults a window AND is on a 40 second cooldown. The actual hell?

  • "Entity Displeased" is already such a tame way of it saying "You lost" you want it to be even less?

  • My idea was to emulate widowmaker or the TF2 sniper's scope mechanics into his weapon: the longer you aim in, the farther it goes and at max range you and the survivor hear a "click" to let you know it's fully charged. So you can still pop-shot but you'd have to be very close (maybe 4m or something) but to hit someone further away you need to aim in for longer) then buff his reload speed to compensate or hell make him a 115/32m killer at that point

  • @ThePolice said:

Id change iri coin to be when hitting a survivor 10m away from the killer, and maybe make an addon that increases the range of the gun

That would be as broken as iri head tf? It's VERY easy to shoot someone at 10 meters, it's not a far distance at all (it's easy to shoot people as Deathslinger in general at all ranges but that's besides the point)

  • Un/popular opinion: deep wounds are a completely stupid mechanic, serve no real purpose other than to be arbitrary brainless ""stalling"" and should be removed from the game.

  • I'm gonna say Blight is the hardest killer to learn and has the highest skill ceiling, even higher than Nurse. Once you know how to play Nurse, there's very little you have to learn on top of that, the counterplay to survivors is very basic, and you kinda just go into any map as Nurse and win/do fine with her because all your power is is "noclip through things and hit people". With Blight you need full knowledge of maps, full knowledge of how to use your power in every specific tile and part of the map, the best ways to traverse a map, what chases you should be committing to, flicking your mouse around as fast as you can whilst still being accurate with your rush to minimize the amount of time you spend standing still after a slam, and still knowing how to properly chase survivors without a power which Nurse doesn't have to worry about.

So that's my paragraph. Nurse's difficulty is so ridiculously over-rated.

  • "Don't send hate to these survivors" yeah, just make a general degrading statement to players who run strong builds on the forums because they're not playing the way you want them to. Boo hoo :( Hate the game, not the players.

  • @Boss said:

I don't even see how being chased could even create satisfaction, as you don't do anything worthy of satisfaction: You're found and now you're being chased.

Things that happen during the chase is a different story, like stunning and losing them, but the chase itself? I don't see it.

Because it's the point of a match where your skills are tested? And it's also the only point where you get to interact with the killer? If you don't see why it's fun that's fine but the more objectives you give survivors the more they're just doing dumb minigames and not doing the one thing that actually requires skill.

  • Why can't Deathslinger mains accept their killer is BS in a chase and just move on lmao. You don't have to open dozens of threads to try and convince people your main is more fair in a chase than we think. Just play who you wanna play who cares

Yeah but there's other games with worse ratios like 8:1 (Friday the 13th) that can still balance the game much further than dbd. Naturally killer will be harder than survivor but killers get almost nothing to work with, compared to survivors.

Killers get almost nothing to work with? What? every killer has a way of cutting time off chases. A few of them aren't that great (Myers, GhostFace and Wraith) but the majority of killers now can shut down loops before they even start. If you really don't like chasing survivors might I suggest playing Hag or Spirit more.

  • Hisako. I want hisako. My favourite fighting game character of all time.

Just give it a condition of only having 1 hatchet can’t be stacked with belts ...but honestly they should just probably change it to something like instead of a insta down your movement speed is 115% but you only get 1 hatchet and belts can give you 3

If you force it to only give you 1 hatchet it wouldn't be worth the ultra rare either. 1 iri head is terrible, any decent Huntress player would take 5 hatchets no add-ons over a single iri head any day of the week.

I was thinking maybe 15-20 meters initially, but Wraith can move pretty fast while cloaked, so 24 seems like just enough to not let him get there and immediately down the hooked person, but I guess it can be reduced to 15.

Yeah that sounds good. You'd probably be able to still use bt and the other changes you suggested are pretty cool. I wish BHVR would take these into consideration but I don't think they do. They just throw these threads into the feedback tab and forget about them.

Quite tired of seeing all of these "survivor and killer play in mean way and it hurts my feelings :(" posts.

Ah the memories of camping corpses for 30 minutes, then eventually getting ganked yourself and camped for even longer. It was such toxic nonsense and I loved it. What you can do in DbD in comparison is so tame and people really need to grow a pair, imo.

  • Hell no I'd want that to become an actual killer. A puppeteer or some kind of wizard that has a minion to do their bidding.

  • Imagine if Myers started the match at tier 3 with fragrant tuft of hair, but he could also throw his knife over pallets and walls up to 3 times because of another add-on. That's iri head. And if you think that's ok you really need to play more survivor because there's absolutely no way survivors can keep up with that kind of immediate snowball at the beginning of the match unless the killer is really bad.

  • @goodkitttcat01 said:

I get that it's meant to keep you from sitting doing nothing (TheClownIsKing, I was talking about AFK crows. I rarely see killers without Spies care about crows). And if you're standing doing nothing, or hanging out watching your team die, then yes, you deserve crows. But really, the best option is never "accept a chase" and get stabbed (especially since it was me, my one teammate, and one generator; running around instead of sneaking is ultimately what got us killed) the best option is simply not to get caught.

Playing as the killer, you have to learn to look for discoloration or movement to see hiding people. I get caught in the grass by most killers. Our Trapper just hadnt learned to check grass yet

My guy, have you played against blendettes on Macmillan and the saloon as killer? There's no 'looking for discolouration" there they're literally invisible lmao

it funny tho killer makes 1 mistake they boned but survivor can make many mistakes this get out and win.

I had match bet swf wasn't tunneling or camping everyone was on death hook by time egc started but still all got out.

It can go both ways tho. Sometimes if 1 survivor makes a mistake or gets downed at the wrong time like for example if there are too many people that need saving and one survivor is responsible for them all since the 4th is in a chase. If they go down quickly, then it's game. Or if the killer is like Nurse or Billy: if a survivor or two goes down within the first 20 to 30 seconds (it does happen especially with Nurse), the round is basically already over because the killer already has so much pressure and the gens have barely been touched.

  • For spirit I'd like what otz suggested for her (make her phase act a little bit like old Freddy's dream transition animation where he would phase in and out of view and move grass, allowing for actual mindgames. RIP old Freddy btw :( )

I had a giant paragraph for Deathslinger changes before but I think I've thought of a more interesting one instead: make his gun work a bit like the sniper from TF2 or widowmaker: he has to aim in for longer if he wants to shoot at a longer range. If he pop shots it would barely go a few meters so at autohaven loops etc it'd still be good if you're right up to the loop etc. Give some kind of indicator to the killer that it's ready to fire at max range too, like a "ding" and a glint of light suddenly reflecting off the gun. And then buff other things around it like maybe reload speed or something. Hell you could probably make him 115 with this change though I'm not sure.

I guess the GGEZ was... a joke? But about the Trapper OP, I really don't think he is

If we wipe as survivors in the first 5 minutes of a match I'll sometimes say ggez at the end as a joke so yeah that probably was one. Even though I've still had killers take offense to it and talk ######### even though it's such an obvious joke lmao.

Easy, just a few, simple changes.

    • Windstorm - Mud added to base kit.
    • Swift Hunt - Mud added to base kit.
    • Shadow Dance - White added to base kit.
    • Wraith is completely invisible in cloaked mode from further than 20 meters
    • Cloaked stuns reduced by 50%
    • Wraith's Terror Radius is audible when within 24 meters of a hooked survivor

These changes now better Wraith by:

    • giving him increased map pressure
    • giving him increased surprise attack capabilities
    • giving him increased utility in cloaked form
    • reduces the penalty of being stunned while cloaked
    • and prevents/deters camping

I like the idea of wraith's tr being audible near a hook but 24m is absurd. Also think about Midwich and the game...wouldn't really matter because those maps are BS in all fairness but still.

  • You know what day we're coming up to right? It's almost the 13th...

No because the rift forces challenges that change the way you play. Its also time limited and many times for characters you never play.

Im saying reward people for just playing. No 5 million bloodpoints grind. Just play to play.

That would mean they'd be giving unique cosmetics to the community...for FREE?! Madness!

  • Well Demo and Plague aren't exactly the easiest killers to play. Maybe you just need to take a step back from the game for a bit because you've clearly had some bad matches and need to not continue getting worked up about it. It's not impossible to win with Demo or Plague, it's not impossible to consistently win with any killer but you need to learn from your mistakes and accept that you're gonna have off days sometimes if you want to do well with them.

  • Do you want survivors to slam gens and hide all game? Because that's how you make survivors slam gens and hide all game. Until they eventually quit because playing survivor in DbD would be completely miserable and not fun in the slightest.

  • @Kebek said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1668631#Comment_1668631

That's all nice and all but I was asking which killer's power are survivors actually able to dodge. Even the example just point out limits on other killers powers but don't tell anything about the actual dodgine at all.

I never really saw anyone who is able to reliably dodge hatchets from a good hutress with pure reactions nor dodging demo's shred from reasoable distance when it's already used. I don't really care about the limits since those just lower consistency at which power can be used, not the actual reaction based interaction from survivors. You aren't really outplaying huntress's hatchet throws if you're constantly looping high wall loop with a good pallet that forces huntress to guess if you'll pre-throw or keep running, you're abusing her limits to evade the scenario where you would need to dodge.

Slinger pushes the consistency at which he can shoot higher then any other killer in the game but that has nothing to do with how dodgeable his harpoons are, their speed is what makes them extremely hard to dodge, not the windup. With bigger windup, he'll just lose some of the consistency but his harpoons will stay exactly as undodgeable as they were before, like most other killer powers from close to mid range.

And? Nobody who knows what they're talking about is talking about dodging Deathslinger's shots, they're saying the entire process of him ADSing and shooting is completely unreactable and cheap as #########. Really wish the people who defend Deathslinger would actually understand that and at least show that they understand that even a little.

  • I only use pop on wraith and killers that I don't have corrupt or ruin/undying on. The other killers that benefit from pop like nurse and Billy don't even need slowdown perks in the first place, it's kind of overkill.

  • @azame said:

I actually rather go against the blueberry than slinger. Atleast I can laugh at she blue she is.

Oh my god you just called Spirit a blueberry and now I can't stop thinking she's violet beauregarde from Charlie and the chocolate factory after she's been deflated. Aaaand the song is now stuck in my head.

  • It's not even the fact that slinger's power is unreactable whilst it's being fired it's the fact that the windup is completely unreactable and virtually nonexistent. You can't react to a Huntress hatchet at point blank but you know she's got it ready because A)there is an obvious noise and B) There is a windup animation. She's also slower whilst aiming. Demo has a small start-up and cooldown, and moves slower than survivors whilst he's charging of the abyss. Pyramid head is just...weird. he has a start-up animation, a reactable ranged attack and a cooldown after, but he's not slower than the survivor during any of these parts of his power which is why he has the whole "hold M2 to outplay" lose-lose playstyle. Slinger has none of this. No startup animation, unreactable ranged attack and no cooldown from faking his power which is why it's so much more annoying.

What do you mean by comms barely mean anything? They give you information perks for free which means you have perk slots left to bring whatever the heck you want to further increase their advantage. As a solo, I bring atleast 2-3 information perks which I won't need if I play with my friends.

Add-ons easily make up for the items the survivors can bring and keys for moris. So what makes up for a SWF?

Why do you think that the killer should go and study guides to play against SWF? We play for fun, not as a college course.

They barely mean anything because comms are rarely the deciding factors of a match.

And I never said they need to "study" a guide, but if you want to improve at a multiplayer game and play against good players you're gonna need to learn how to actually play the game, and watching people who are better than you is the easiest and best method...I really didn't think I'd have to explain that. And if you play for fun why would you care about wanting to beat a SWF squad?

  • @ABannedCat said:

I strongly advice against Plaid Fannel. That addon doesn't work well on dedicated servers.

Oh, tbf I haven't used it in almost a year so I didn't know it wasn't good anymore. I can't say I'm surprised but that's good to know lmao

  • SWF are strong but comms barely mean anything in the majority of SWF matches. And if you're really having trouble against survivors several shortcuts and helping hands exist in the form of mori offerings and meta killer/perk/add-on combinations to help you. Not to mention plenty of killer guides and killer players that are pretty good at the game and have made helpful guides for new and experienced players. Scott and otz probably being the two most well-known examples.

  • @ASurvkillivorer said:

To describe with as much detail as possible.

You know how when a killer is about 32 meters away you hear the heart beat lighly?

When Myers is using Monitor and has 16 meter terror radius you need to be on your toes but same thing. You hear it faintly just with much less.

Hag? She has absolutely no audio happening what so ever until she is right on top of you. I was doing a gen....abruptly hear the chase music at full pace so I start running and in about 1.5 secodns she was close enough to hit me with a lunge. Total silence to then chase music.

Myers has an 8m terror radius with monitor...and tbh you're kinda right about her TR. Hag and Deathslinger are the 110 killers that don't have a sound outside of their TR. Huntress has humming and spirit makes small noises and cracking sounds that she makes outside of her tr. Maybe that's why it's more sudden. Or it is an actual sound bug that needs to be reported but we have no way of knowing without video

  • I mean he barely functions properly lmao. Can't really blame people for hating a killer that literally doesn't work 80 percent of the time. Personally I find it hilarious that he's so broken but to each their own.

  • @Doctor_Grizz said:

I wish they changed it a little bit, make it like Diversion and Stakeout (Basically getting more tokens when in the terror radius). People would propably use it for once, at least i would use it.

Yes yes, and that's also what I find when I play a game as a survivor with red ranks in my team, they all get taken apart like car wheels.

Certainly these nurses are rare, without Plaid, without addons, and sometimes without perks.. Respect

I'm main Nurse today, I really hope to make it like them ! I want to eliminate all SWF !!!🙂 No, just dominate

Hey gl with that, it's definitely a small learning curve with her but once you get her figured out you're on ez street. The two bits of advice I stuck to when I she's her often was to laugh off and not worry about messing up too much, just keep a cool head and don't think about it because it will happen in the beginning. And also aim to blink to the survivor's back and not blink directly on top of them because that's when you get all turned around and bamboozled and will probably mess up the 2nd blink more often than not. This may or may not help, Idk just focus on having fun lmao

  • @JAZC_CR said:

6: Nice joke, Nurse addons are pure trash

Cooldown add-ons are great, her range add-ons give her a disgusting amount of extra distance when used together, metal spoon is a built-in stridor you're essentially running 5 perks, the wooden horse is great if you're practicing and you whiff a lot because it removes that extra cooldown, plaid flannel is great for learning blink ranges and makes her really easy to play.

Catatonic boys treasure makes chain blinks recover a second faster, so that's 1 less second looking at the ground which is a lot considering how much you're blinking around in a match and losing vision on survivors staring at the ground the whole time.

Imagine saying her add-ons are "pure trash" when all of these do nothing but enhance the already best ability in the game. Her purple "last breath" add-ons are useless I'll give you that. If their effects didn't use up your 2nd blink they would be really good but some genius at BHVR thought that'd be a good idea. They're almost useless. Her reds are also bad but that's kind of a tradition for all DbD killers at this point so I don't really care.

  • This has been the popular opinion for a while, yes.

  • It'll make me mute everyone that isn't someone I'm queuing with, who I'd be talking to on discord anyway. It would barely be a buff to solo q because almost nobody would talk. People just want to sit down and play the game and not be forced to communicate with people (I'm saying forced because a lot of people seem to think Comms are this completely broken and overpowered mechanic that friends use to sweat out every match when in fact it's not. Tbh in a way I am glad that BHVR don't take suggestions from the forum, because balancing the game around comms like a lot of people want for some reason would completely ruin whatever we have left of DbD.)

  • Likely won't be fixed, because there's probably nothing there to fix according to BHVR.

  • @ShrekTheThird69 said:

Dude I have already made a bunch of threads about this. Still zero bhvr read. the devs do not care and will not be changing his animations. sorry but if bhvr does not make money out of it just is not going to happen.

I think I already know their reason if they were to comment on this. Would probably be because old Billy was able to clip his camera into lockers and thin walls at the end of a chainsaw so they changed his animations completely....even though they could've just made the camera not clip into objects. They coded the survivor camera to already do that couldn't they have done that to Billy's camera too? Like, b r u h.

    What about this guys?

Sorry, I don't have stridor yet otherwise I would equip it.

Pop is completely overkill, your benefit more from a tracking perk. Best ones for spirit are probably stridor, Nurse's, whispers. And in my opinion thrilling tremors is awful and I'd rather use BBQ. It's especially better for high mobility killers.

  • @PigMainClaudette said:

Billy was played for the same reason Spirit is now. They're strong and extremely easy to learn.

The difference was that Billy had an isntant-down base kit that required no real work, compared to killers like Myers and Ghostface.

You have everything except stealth in your power, and it replaces his weapon for too many people.

People "quit" Billy because they couldn't cheese him out with insta-saw or Crack Billy any more. He's fine where he is now.

I never ran add-ons. I quit playing Billy because his camera and animations are horrendous and kill the entire experience. Don't even get me started on the roar, completely unnecessary and a weird extra shadow nerf to him. I say it is a nerf because survivors can react to a Billy curving round a corner etc much easier than without the sound since you react to sound faster than something visual. Not to mention it sounds stupid.

Idk why they wanted to nerf Billy's basekit either because he wasn't even that good without add-ons, no better than Huntress or Freddy, maybe too many people complained, but they did and now we're here. I love BHVR :). At least Blight and Demo still exist. For now.
