Na it´s fine^^ And darn, my bet would have been the other way around tbh :D
I'd say it applies after this next update to PH, where it'll definitely require a bit of thought into using his power at pallets and windows. I'm actually really looking forward to playing as and against him now, these new changes might be enough to make me learn him.
-
Wait Freddy has that animation hangtime bug again but only for dream pallets? How did this happen again lmao
-
He still desperately needs changes. Half the Trapper games I'm in are kinda pathetic and the Trapper has to sweat their ass off and make no mistakes to even get a 2k, and the other half are basement snowballs which either lead to a 2k or a free win in 60 seconds. It's really dumb
-
Trail of torment might be good now but honestly every other perk they buffed are still gonna be terrible and will never shift the meta. Cruel limits now 32 instead of 24m? Damn...such an insane change, literally better than ruin and undying. Technician now stops all gen noises when they blow up? Actually this one's decent for new players, despite it being a DLC perk on pc, meaning new players likely won't have it right away and when they buy extra content they'll no longer need it...but ok.

The change seems healthy and fair to me. Question is, will Deathslinger receive similar treatment? He has the same issue as PH where he's able to zone without using his power.
I'd rather Deathslinger get a full rework into a 115 killer than get small buffs or nerfs to his current ability.
-
Do gens, don't heal, be confident with your looping. Tuft of hair turns Myers into plague with a slightly better lunge and no power, that's all the add-on does.

😄 Yes I'm aware LOL. But I also know what it's like to go up against a four-man team that are carrying all flashlights. Needless to say it's kind of hard to find the right angle when you got a toxic four-man flashlight team.
I've gone against 4-man Flashlight teams, and they're by far the easiest games I play because flashlights are a terrible item that do almost nothing. And I'm trying to wrap my head around how you think flashlights are toxic, and why killers dodge flashlight lobbies because they're the easiest games as killer because everyone's going for flashlight saves and not doing gens. Not to mention the fact that if they use them at pallets they're not gaining as much distance as they can on you so chases are much shorter.

as opposed by hanging on a hook being completely useless, and if your getting proxied and used as bait and someone unhooks you you go back on the hook and on top of that you're dead next hook instead of the slugging where you still have all your hooks left?
That's the thing that struck me as odd. that the alternitive is worse. With the exeption when a killer is legit trying to bleed you out
And waiting after you go down happens all the time in multiplayer games.
In Last Year a game simular to DbD you have to wait to respawn and then wait again untill someone get's you back after dying.
In shooters there is usually a 10-15 second respawn time
In League it can take longer then a minute to respawn
What makes it so much more unfun in this game then other ones?
This isn't me trying to bash you or anything. I legit don't understand what's so bad about it.
If I'm on a hook I'm at least on a faster timer and I'll usually get saved much faster than getting picked up after being slugged because in my experience most survivors couldn't give less of a ######### about a slugged survivor. And the moments of downtime in shooters is a lot faster than being slugged in DbD. In modern warfare, and every deathmatch gamemode in existence the spawn time is only a few seconds. And in elimination modes you at least get to spectate your team and see what they're doing. In DbD if you're slugged you're literally doing nothing staring at a wall for an unknown length of time. Add the time you're slugged to the time you also spend on the hook, maybe you get immediately reslugged after being picked up like I mentioned, and you're spending minutes every game being completely useless and doing nothing, not able to actually play the game. Survivors already spend enough time sitting on a gen holding M1 doing nothing fun so any time added to the monotony makes playing survivor even more miserable.

The difference being that a good nurse can actually control when she lands her hits. Pyramid head's attack has a huge red "I'm about to do damage here" indicator attached to it. You'd have to be brain damaged to get hit by it outside of an animation lock. PotD is about to become the most unreliable attack in the game.
But hey at least he can still waste time trying to force survivors into torment so he can send them across the map for a free rescue right?
If they give him full mouse control whilst he's holding his power it'd be fine. You'd be playing a prediction game with your power at that point, which actually sounds pretty damn fun and would help his clunky-ass movement a ton. I don't think they're doing that though. Or they could make the hitbox slightly wider who knows.
Point is, the playstyle ph has now is obviously not how BHVR want him to be played because it's mindless and dull, I'd much rather be going for interesting shots with my power than holding a button whenever a survivor is near a pallet or window.
-
Maybe people dislike it because you are literally laying on the ground being completely useless? Not to mention that if you're getting proxied and used as bait and someone tries to come and pick you up, you're usually going right back on the ground thanks to the killer and you have to recover all over again and hope someone else gets to you. Or BETTER YET he'll chase the guy for a while and THEN come pick you up. The amount of time you'd spend literally doing nothing but staring at your survivor on the ground. A very fun gaming experience indeed.

Im just waitin for ds to eventually get a time nerf and survivors commense world war 3.
I would argue that killers have started around 10 world wars in the past year alone, we're well past world war 3 mate.
-
So is this patch gonna do what it did to Nurse players, i.e weeding out the bad ones and the ones who are actually good will still play and do just as well? If so then I can't wait. I definitely wanna try and play him now, on paper it sounds like you actually have to try to down people with him now which I'm looking forward to. More depth and challenge by nerfing one thing but buffing another to make a killer more streamlined is always a good thing.

But this has easy counterplay, you don't even need perks for that:
Ds, don't Tunnel
Ub, don't slug
Dh, wait before you lunch
Why should they Nerf this perks?
Idk if you're trolling, and I'm all for nerfing undying slightly (get rid of the aura reading effect, it's a free TOTH on a perk that's already really good. So stupid.) but we're talking about DS and UB being used at the same time. So to counter UB you don't slug...so you have to pick them up but you get DSed...but if you get DSed you tunnelled and you shouldn't pick them up...see the problem here? Also tell me how you counter someone dead Harding for distance with a standard killer like Wraith, legion or GhostFace? People don't use dead hard to dodge attacks anymore because it barely works, we use it to get to a window or pallet and extend a chase for free or correct a mistake.
-
Blight is still challenging me and actually has a bit of depth and difficulty to him, which I can't say about any killer that's come out in...well over a year now...so yeah I'm having fun because Blight is fun.
-
I don't hate spine chill as Wraith, it really doesn't do much against him because you move quickly whole cloaked anyway and can check off the hiding spots fast. As GhostFace or Pig though...
-
If they played less frequently and didn't stack when multiple survivors worked on a gen I think it would have been a good addition. Also literally nobody in this thread has a single clue about generators lmao
-
He's weaker than Oni, but better than Freddy. I put him in the same category I put all the "good" killers. He's in the same group to me as Hag, Freddy, Huntress, Billy and Pyramid Head. The 2 just above that group are Oni and Deathslinger and then it's Spirit and Nurse sharing the top spot
-
@RizeAki said:
Bug fixes are not nerfs I swear everyone makes one of these threads anytime a bug is fixed what’s next
“Hooks are buffed because killers can now use them again” 😱
The animation made ds skill checks more sudden and unexpected, and also shaved a couple seconds off the locker grab animation. You can spin it whichever way you want but it is absolutely a nerf to the perk.
-
Why did they even take time out of their day to fix this...so unnecessary lmao, I didn't even know it was a bug I thought it was a neat feature but not according to the masterminds at BHVR I guess
-
Yeah basically what the guy above said. Watch Scott's guide and his Oni games. Keep in mind that a lot of his later matches with Oni he usually uses only green and purple add-ons but he really isn't add-on dependent at all they're just nice to have.
-
BBQ, enduring, tinkerer and agitation is what I use most of the time. Sometimes discordance is ok, probably the only killer who can use it well next to blight and Nurse. I've never thought Billy needed any kind of slowdown, so I still wouldn't run any on him. Pop and corrupt are both good perks though, I personally don't see a point once you have him down you really won't be using them much they just feel like overkill. If you can't run tiles you can always put on bamboozle like I see many Billy and Bubba players do. Infectious is also nice but not as nice anymore because of the overheat mechanic. Monitor is also heavily underrated.
Idk, he's not held down by a bunch of bad perk choices, he can use a lot of perks really well and has many great builds and styles. I just prefer an aggressive playstyle because imo he benefits from that the most due to him having meh chase potential but great map pressure.

I think you are very fortunate, and I hope more people have your experience. I started recording every game I play so I would have the required video evidence to report the inappropriate behavior. I'm working on a compilation video for Youtube which I expect to post in the near future. I have no lack of material, and none of it is mild. The video will show hackers, lag spikes, ethnic slurs, sexist comments, death threats, people wishing my friends, family, pets, or myself death or suffering, and enough Salt to makes a lifetime of beef jerky. The hard part of putting this compilation together is the sheer bulk of material I have (and get more all the time). What makes this particularly telling is I only started recording everything a month ago. So if your personal experience is different, consider yourself lucky, blessed. But I wouldn't suggest assuming people are being "oversensitive" when they don't like hearing things like, "I'm going to poison your cats."
Your example is actual toxicity, I wouldn't want anyone to be subject to those kinds of messages. The only things I'm referring to when people are being oversensitive is what survivors can do in-game, which isn't "toxic" in the slightest. It could be considered annoying, but to see so many posts of people complaining that a survivor pressed mouse2 or control at them a few times is so pathetic at this point.
-
Still don't understand these posts. I can probably count on one hand the amount of these so-called "toxic" survivors i see every month (the ones that press a button in front of a killer more than once, and then the killer gets oversensitive and rushes to the forums to condemn all survivor players). The ones that are actually toxic I almost never come across. I've met very few people who were actually being toxic and sending racial, homophobic slurs, death threats etc. The whole meme of "you wouldn't last two seconds in a MW2 Xbox lobby 10 years ago" really isn't a meme anymore with this community is it?
-
I wouldn't mind this build if undying didn't have that extra effect of showing survivor auras when they're near a totem. Literally no reason for this perk to have this effect on top of the one it already has. It's a free Thrill of the Hunt. Apart from that it's not that bad to go against from my experience. Kind of a brainless playstyle but so was old ruin with pop, which was ran a lot back in the day.
-
It's the most survivor sided map in the game, the central structure is way too large, making all the tiles and loops around it safe as hell and a pain to navigate and scratch marks barely ever show correctly. Literally impossible to win against decent team if you're not playing Oni, Spirit, nurse etc.
This is why you hate Ormond. This is why everybody hates Ormond.
-
Not a fan of bobs glasses. No red stain on a 115 killer? Gonna be a no from me. It'd be like permanent night shroud on GhostFace without the stalking. And he gets 5 seconds of wallhacks on the people he does stalk? Idk he doesn't need add-ons as strong as this, all he needs is changes to his power. His add-ons are fine. I'm all for the increased action speed in EW3 though. It should be 15 or 20% though, 10% isn't very noticeable.

Another flawed argument of "Spirit has no counter-played" in terms of counterplay like what do you mean?? You loop the spirit around BS loops until you (the survivor) drop the pallet/make the mistake or you're supposed to see/know everyone of her movements and what she's doing in chase.
All I can say is play Spirit yourself and you'll understand that she's not OverPowered as many people claim she is. She's a killer that requires knowledge over survivor routing, tiles and the map. She's not a killer you can just play 1 game and be a god with her instantly. I'll redirect you to this video of Tru3 counter-playing the Spirit.
"She's not a killer you can just play 1 game and be a god with her instantly"? Um my first several games as spirit were 4Ks within 5 minutes of the match starting. And I don't remember a single time I've lost when I've had to play Spirit. She requires headphones, and that's kind of it. Idk why some people want to insist and shout from the heavens that spirit is this demanding killer to play when it's just not true. And there's nothing wrong with her being easy lmao, nothing in this game is particularly demanding or challenging to the average player, it was designed that way.
-
Spirit and Deathslinger don't offer "interactive chases". As I've been told countless times on here, spirit's whole purpose is to make survivors guess and not give them any kind of visual or auditory feedback, which is literally no interaction between the spirit and the survivor. Deathslinger's ability cannot physically be reacted to, it is actually impossible to react to him shooting you if he's going for pop shots. Where the interaction here? There's no way for a survivor to have any interaction with the killer in the chase when it's entirely based on if the Deathslinger missed or not, and nothing meaningful from the survivor. And a lot of us do know about Hag, we've just grown tired of talking about her because nobody plays her, and the ones that do will usually tunnel you out of the match the moment you get unhooked anyway so there's no real point discussing it lmao.

I am actually talking about Spirit this time. If you want, I can make an in-depth look into how Survivor is largely an information game and how Spirit's entire power is "remove information, minimal downsides", but is both a lot of effort and hate to receive. My Hillbilly one proved that.
Hag is more of a QoL change, and a wish list. Things like adding a hook-distance requirement so she can't trap-camp or adding a delay between teleports and attacks. I can live without, but I won't cry if I don't.
As for Billy, he's fine. My only problem ever with him was people using the saw more than I use expletives in general speech. And as an Australian, all I can say is that it's a fark'n sheitload.
Oh I already know what you mean with spirit lmao, I'm probably the one who whines the most about her on here. As for Hag I've always thought her power design is the worst in the game. Designed for proxy camping and being as uninteractive as possible with survivors. But I play against maybe 1 hag every month who does the whole "tunnelling a single survivor into oblivion and throwing the game" shtick that's popular with Hag so it's not that bad. Imo she needs a full rework.

Well, Hillbilly has NEVER been fun for me. Accidental cross-map snipes aside, of course. There is nothing funnier than having a Kate randomly run right in front of you, or a Dwight in a bush be in the middle of your chainsaw path.
I thought it was just interesting that 2 of my 3 most hated killers, and the only one that I think genuinely needs a nerf are actually amongst the lowest rated in terms of "fun" according to the community. And have been since the start of this thread when I made my first remark about the absence of particular killers.
That's fair if you don't like Billy. And Idk, people enjoy killers that want to interact with the game more, despite ones like Spirit and Hag being really strong. Not very fun to win every game for free with Spirit all the time.
And when you say the killer who "genuinely needs a nerf" are you talking about Spirit or Hag or do you think that Billy still needs another one?
-
Some of the changes I'd wanna see are
Removing passing sleeping, make it a purple add-on, you can only pass into the dream world if Freddy hits you, can no longer wake up via skill checks or being hooked.
Remove the oblivious effect. Not only because it counters BT with little effort, but also so someone with object doesn't get LITERAL PERMANENT WALLHACKS ON HIM. Who thought this was a good idea?
And idk that's it. His passive sleep mechanic is the dumbest thing about him. He can have a good chase power like he does but he should have to earn it by getting the first hit. Might actually give him some kind of skill barrier and skill ceiling Instead of being so insultingly easy to play as.
Also maybe give him some add-ons that are actually fun, or the option to use dream pallets without an add-on and have it be a toggleable option in his perk screen instead
-
Hillbilly hasn't been fun since all the garbage they did to him. The new animations and camera, the stupid roar that drowns out every other noise at a point where you might actually need to hear footsteps of you're curving around a corner for example, and it's just plain annoying now anyway...yea Billy isn't fun at all now, he's a joke and feels like he's a new killer in beta with features that are unpolished.
Spirit and hag are kind of self-explanatory. One dimensional strategies, neither care about actually interacting with the game and with survivors and would rather do their own thing etc...
-
Bring kindred all the time because it's the best solo perk in the game, and survivors don't need 4 perks anyway so it can take up your final slot

Hey I'm not downplaying his win, I'm glad he's enjoying Blight because honestly were in the minority on the forums for whatever reason. But the comments about the survivors "likely being swf", and "of course he had adrenaline", implying there's something wrong with playing with your friends and running those perks, is a bit unnecessary no?

Every time I use self care though my team gets mad at me.
I think a lot of people have PTSD flashbacks when they see someone self-care in their games, even though there is absolutely a good time and a place to self-care, and the perk itself is good. I've stopped caring about people who run self care because honestly they can do whatever the hell they want, if they feel more at home running self-care and are having a better time who cares? As long as I get to play how I want, get a good few chases in with the killer and get some points I'm happy.

I don't know why you want people to read when it looks like you created this post for the sole purpose of taking a stab at survivors, as if we don't have enough of these posts on the forums.

I don't think that is ever going to happen. It would completely destroy the games economy and make absolutely certain that you only ever play with the killers best addons for that tier.
And I fail to see how that's a problem??? If anything that should give BHVR the heads up that they still need to make some serious changes to a ton of killers. The smallest changes too, mind you, that would probably take 1 guy less than 10 minutes to implement.
Also what economy lmao, you can't trade or give bloodpoints away and they have no value outside of the bloodweb.
-
You know if you wanted to start seeing the good side of DbD, maybe don't put everyone under the same cover and talk ######### to the people who haven't done anything wrong? This community is fine for the most part. What you see on forums is typical complaining that's in every community because there's always something to complain about. I do it too sometimes, because ######### spirit. Idk if I'd consider them toxic, they're just kinda fed up with the game being the same mess it has been for months, things not working properly for so long now... DbD has one of the better communities, there's just a few vocal minorities, the usual group that are actually toxic human beings and throw slurs and threats at everyone they meet, and the ones that are hyper sensitive and get mad that a survivor pressed the crouch button or hit them on a hook. And unfortunately they take up the most discussion online.
-
Let's not forget Spirit looking like she's COMPLETELY wasted when not in her power. One of the funniest things I've seen in this game in a while
-
For killer, Midwich, because it sucks.
For survivor, Midwich, because it sucks.
-
Yep, in Scott's latest blight video there was a Laurie that tried to throw a pallet but couldn't and kept getting reset and stuck and unable to throw it. Really strange bug that once again we have literally no idea how it came to be or what can be done about it.
-
Nurse ignores almost every mechanic survivors have, and spirit doesn't have any of the visual or auditory cues survivors have to counter a killer whilst she's in her power, and frankly couldn't care less about what the survivor is currently doing. Both are pretty self-explanatory.
-
Yeah dude, when I heard that the generator...sounded like a generator...I just couldn't take it anymore, I had to uninstall these darn killers get all the advantages man! This was the LAST STRAW.

-
The new update brought a ton of optimisation issues with it. Some kind of memory leak happens when you play Blight for too long, dunno what it is but after 2 or 3 games of blight my frames tank and never become stable again until I restart my game. Unreal engines have never been known for their stability tbf. Borderlands and a bunch of other games just don't run well
Also what is up with the new pallet and wall break animations? How did that even get through testing lmao. They saw that animation and the FPS tank to around 20 whenever it happens and were like "yep, this is fine, ship it". Not even gonna question how or why the pallets shatter like glass into a million pieces after they get kicked down the middle but that's for another time.

His only guaranteed use of his shock therapy is to deny small to medium junk loops and that's basically it. While it is annoying that you can just spam his ability and I would definitely be all for some kind of change to make it better in more situations but to remove the spamminess of it, I don't think it's much of an issue. It would make him more engaging to play though because new Doctor is really boring to me now. The one thing that does need changing are his range and discipline add-ons. They're massive levels of dumb when you combine the two together and the green and purple discipline add-ons absolutely need nerfing, or at least the shock delay effect removed from them.

Fair, there are issues here and there, and by no means they are small issues, but I still feel like BHVR doesn't deserve this much of a backlash for them. Like every other damn game out there, there will be bugs no matter what. No developers are perfect.
Bugs are inevitable, but I've yet to see a game have this many and are this severe. Consistently. With every. Single. Update. Like you expect them to have at least somewhat good control of the situation considering, you know, they've kinda been developing the same game for over 4 years now, but it's like they're back at square 1 everytime they change the smallest of things. People are sick of it happening every time and just wanna have a stable videogame to play.
