Man I still miss old Billy way too much. What they did to him was so dumb. That stupid bobblehead animation when revving, his awful posture and the way he moves and that horrendous scream every time he starts to chainsaw. Not even mentioning the first person animations not lining up with the third person ones, and the camera being even worse. The only thing that's better is his chase music, other than that I can't take him seriously at all anymore, he looks like such a joke, and like he's a killer in beta with unfinished animations. It's so bad. Before, Billy chases used to be intense and look great, now they look comical.

I did my best to not let him stalk me, it was Azarov's Resting Place. It was maybe three or so minutes into the match, he only had one hook so far. I got the unhook, and he came right back and instantly killed me.
Are you a killer main with no knowledge of how difficult/slow it is for solo survivors to earn BP?
How did he manage to down someone when he moves at 106% move speed without pwyf stacks lmao. Also you should've left the guy on the hook until he was really far away, you let him stalk you for the entire duration of you running up to the guy on hook and unhooking him. And you should try wglf, helps a lot in game where you get the chance to unhook a bunch of people and you don't really need 4 perks as survivor.

What is fun for survivors may not be fun for killers.
For me and many other people, it usually is. I have the most fun right now playing Blight, Wraith and Demo, killers that many people also enjoy playing against the most because it feels balanced and there are opportunities for both the survivor and killer to get an advantage and outplay each other. It feels really good when you get a shred as Demo, or you get a really good pinball sequence into a down as Blight because it feels like you earned it. It's satisfying. A lot of people find no satisfaction in pyramid head, his camera is clunky and has a limited turning radius, it's too slow to predict and hit people through walls (as well as the turn speed not helping in the slightest) so any kind of cool play you could make is impossible so you're stuck with this brain-dead "hold M2 and wait for the survivor to inevitably get locked in an animation and hit them" playstyle.
As for survivor perks DS and Unbreakable being paired together isn't fun at all and I'd like to see DS get a change to make it actually fill the role it's supposed to.
-
It's not the same thing as Demo. First thing he's actually slower than the survivor, or around the same speed with rat liver so if he is using M2 he's likely not getting any closer to you. Second thing is that if Demo does it at a pallet at least he EATS THE PALLET AND DOESN'T HIT YOU FOR FREE. If Demo fakes out his shred at a pallet you can usually get an extra loop out of it depending on where you are. Pyramid head literally doesn't care because he moves faster in his power than the survivor and recovers immediately. You don't drop the pallet he catches up and hits you, you drop it and you get hit by his ranged attack. Amazing.
Also yes, in the grand scheme of things pyramid head is "fine" but is he fun? To play and play against? Why are you ok with killers being "fine" instead of wanting BHVR to do something to make these killers actually fun and not ridiculously unbalanced? (I.e having good chase ability but horrendous map pressure, something slinger also suffers from)
-
Most 3 and 4 man's just wanna have fun, so they're likely not all running DS Unbreakable, and against the ones that are actually sweating, they will beat you anyway because the perks don't matter against survivor teams like that. You'd still probably lose even if they ran no perks, Marth's depip squad is a perfect example of this.

It is basically what is being demanded. No other multiplayer game ignores the top end so blatantly.
I wouldn't say they completely ignore it. Their latest killer has a pretty high skill ceiling, and people are calling him bad because they didn't find out everything about him in 30 minutes of gameplay. A lot of games are really unbalanced at the highest level. In DbD, survivors are broken at the highest level and at the lowest level it's killers, but in the middle it is somewhat balanced in its own janky kind of way. While we would all love BHVR to make all the maps great and balanced so people aren't screwed over by RNG, and not bringing about 13 different bugs with each patch everytime they fix 3, we know that's not gonna happen anytime soon. I've found that a lot of the times when people lose to factors out of their control it's because of a dumb bug that came out of nowhere, eg you got 2 phantom saws in a row which can definitely cost you the game, it's rarely the fabled "genrushing" that everyone on this forum claims to see every single game.

I' m sorry but....Slinger doesn't need a nerf, Against good survivors he'll get smoked.. a 110% killer like him can struggle against survivors that can dodge just right (I should know. i Main this boi)
"Against good survivors he loses" is something you can say about LITERALLY EVERY KILLER IN THE GAME. Doesn't mean there isn't an imbalance at other levels of skill. I play slinger a lot too and believe me nothing I've learned playing as him has translated to playing better against a good one. The only thing I've noticed is that bad DS players will constantly try to pop-shot at corners you're about to go around almost all the time, which is the easiest thing in the world to bait out. But that's it. Any other situation and they simply missed, I didn't juke the shot it was the slinger that made a mistake. Good slingers don't make those mistakes almost ever which leads to 10 second chases that the survivor has 0 control over.

You are super delusional, or you're playing a different game and extremely confused.
No they're not delusional. The game hasn't been easier for killer than it is now. When you say you're chasing survivors for a minute and then gens pop, where do you find this survivor? Are they working on a gen or in the open? If it's he second option you shouldn't really be prioritising them just hit them once and go to your gens, because if you're chasing some random guy across the map for 60 seconds and not chasing survivors off gens you're telling them that you don't care if those gens pop for free. New ruin paired with hex undying is a pretty great combo for most killers. For Huntress you probably want to use corrupt and/or pop it's what I use. Right from the start of the game you need to be pressuring gens and getting a snowball rolling, you don't have old ruin to rely on anymore. Also yes there are times when this game is complete BS and just doesn't want you to win no matter what you do, but most of the time it's because you're making mistakes and refuse to acknowledge that. Whether it's your playstyle, your build etc...
-
Tbh technician should make the gen working sound silent unless the killer is right up to the gen, eg within 4 or so meters. So many perks need just 1 change to their numbers to make them useful eg what they did with tinkerer. So ######### frustrating that BHVR won't ever do changes like this with the hotfixes and mid-chapter patches etc. Would actually make the game fun and interesting with perks becoming more or less useful each week.
-
It forces the survivor to play correctly. It's kinda ######### funny that a perk like this is in the game. It literally shows the most optimal thing bad survivors should do after a killer's hit them.
-
Well 2 30 second chases at the start of a match means 2 or even 3 gens are close to popping or pop before you even down and hook them. Eg if you chase a bunch of survivors off a gen and then only commit to that 1 survivor the others are just gonna come back and finish the gen because you've basically told them that you don't care about the gen popping and you'd rather chase that 1 guy. Then 1 big mistake in another chase, maybe you get screwed by the game or autoaim or hitboxes or whatever, and if they're an efficient team it'll likely cost you the game. There is a big RNG element to DbD but a lot of it is on you and your killer/build/playstyle. It takes practice and you can't really play nice anymore so slugging is one of the best things you can do to help give you pressure. And once you chase survivors off gens make sure they actually stay off them.
-
They do say these things though, the problem is that these kinds of statements aren't very helpful, nor do they give the community any kind of reinforcement knowing their voice has been heard. They say it so often. When they say they're "looking into it" we have no idea what they mean by that or how long this is going to take before we get the change out of the blue with maybe some developer notes a few days before it's released and that's it.
Honestly they've said they're doing so much and looking into fixing so many things they probably have way too much on their plate now and even they have no idea how to handle it all.
-
I like how these posts get moved into feedback and suggestions even though we all know posts regarding game balance won't be taken into consideration at ALL.
But yeah all he needs is the yellow bag and the yellow trap setting add-ons added to his default ability and that's it. Would be a lot better not having to rely on bringing an add-on every single game. Same with Wraith and with their latest killers it does seem like they're making their powers not add-on dependent at all (Demo, Oni, PH, Plague, Deathslinger and now Blight)

Completely agree. Honestly I feel like he should be able to whip when he swings while using rush. Like Oni can. Just that little bit of movement would be a good needed buff to him.
That'd make him so broken and easy to use. He definitely doesn't need it, you need to be more careful with your lunges and practice him a lot to make him work. He's not a killer you can pick up and know everything there is to know about him in a day like 90% of other killers in this game. It's like people who want rat liver to be base-kit on Demo, you don't know what you're asking for.

Funny how Blight has an add on that reveals auras just by smacking the wall yet the aura addons for Deathslinger & Pyramid Head are Iri and are way too situational (and in PH’s case, too many conditions) to even get decent use out of them.
I wonder who does the balancing!?
Not to mention you have Oni that has 2 literally useless ultra-rares, and a green add-on that's busted. It's bizarre what bhvr think is balanced and what isn't and I genuinely wanna know who is on this balance team and how much they play and how good they are because there are some changes that I would've never expected a dev team to make after working on the same game for over 4 years now.

He’s always been one of my favourites and I’m surprised more people don’t play as him. The absolute carnage that ensues once somebody is hooked beneath the killer shack is beautiful. I classed myself as a Legion main but switched to Trapper for some variety and he’s deadly with the right trap placements.
I expect to lose a few gens at the start of a match but once he gets momentum it’s game over.
I personally don't find basement simulators fun which is why I no longer find Trapper fun. That's basically how every game goes with him now: someone gets hooked in basement, trap the living hell out of it, survivors either come save and die or do gens and leave. Every other Trapper game that doesn't involve the basement is a stressfest and the power very rarely comes into play because his setup time and early game is awful. Honestly I'm more surprised people actually play him considering how add-on dependent and how desperately he needs some changes.
-
Tbh fixated sprint burst against Spirit is really good. She's BS in a chase so don't give her one and hide. It's boring but it works.
Against Legion and Huntress that isn't 100% guaranteed to work and I'm guessing you play console which is why they probably work more than they should (Not so much anymore with crossplay but ya know lmao). A Huntress will just aim for the lower half of your body, or keep her hatchet out so you keep crouching and losing distance, and the Legion will wait for you to stop spinning if they're not confident with lunging, something that everyone should try and do if they get spun easily, especially on console.
Against Myers you want to block LoS while he's in Tier 1 as much as possible, and in Tier 2 if you know he wants to stalk you also block LoS, and start running super early. Spine chill is absolutely not a wasted perk when he tiers up, he gets countered by it the most out of every killer in the game except maybe Pig which is why he's so pathetic and why I've stopped playing him because so many survivors are running spine chill now. I also find it weird you can never get out against a Myers. What do you generally do against him? The moment you hear his TR music is the moment you should start running if you're not using spine chill, and you shouldn't greed pallets as much against him in Tier 3. You will get yeeted on by a 99'd t3 every now and then and there's not much you can do about that but hey that's just Myers for ya. Pray that your team is at least decent and doesn't feed him or gets downed by him too quickly when he's in Tier 3 and he should be a cakewalk.

This is the Bubba vid, in a short loop, you can see the Bubba's "mind glitch" where he's used to survivors early dropping pallets, which makes him rev the chainsaw, use that at your advantage to get the most proffit from loops.
That Bubba isn't very good, and that also looks like old Bubba but I could be wrong. New Bubba would absolutely catch up to you and you'd have to drop the pallet which is fine because that's what new Bubba does. That only makes a bad killer player rev their chainsaw, a good killer absolutely wouldn't do this (Instead they'd probably not even play because they picked Bubba and they got The Game which is one of the worst maps for him and Billy.)

Nah man, it's all heartfelt.
I'm a little fed up with people ragging on a higher-skill cap killer on LITERALLY his first day. It takes time for us to figure this stuff out. We all need to be a little more patient.
That said I've had nothing but fun with Blight, even when I lost matches. He's clearly not as weak as people say - even if you don't use his power at all he's still a 4.6 m/s killer. You can get boink-boink hits at more places than you might think, and it just feels oh-so-satisfying to hit someone after boinking off of 4 walls first. He doesn't have an Oni-like flick but he can rotate up to 90 degrees before lunging, so anticipating your opponents movements can get you some down-low DIRTY hits. Like Legion (and Billy and Huntress and Bubba and... most killers) using his power is not always APPROPRIATE, so the initial hurdle is to figure out where using his power is appropriate and where it's not. This... takes... time. So let's all cool down with the hate.
Oh my god thank you for existing. Idk what half of the people on here are smoking, maybe they've played far too much spirit and Freddy. It's ok to dislike Blight but Jesus people are really out here saying he's as bad as Legion and harder to learn than Nurse lmao. I've not played much killer for nearly 2/3 months and I've only started to play a lot recently and I'm not having trouble with him at all he's so fun.
-
Definitely not. I love this dumb pinballing idiot, the most fun killer they've ever made.
-
The collision is never gonna be perfect, because this games collision on objects and hitboxes are atrocious and probably always will be. Can't do much about that
I don't agree with a lunge change. If he could properly lunge out of his power he would be so incredibly busted and easy to use. It'll take a long time before people get consistent with the rush mechanic but it's definitely not weak. The hitbox on the lunge is also very generous anyway. Can't count the amount of times I've actually hit someone who's not even on my screen.
I haven't used that add-on but from the description it'd make him a bit too easy for me to really care about playing him anymore. I don't think it's necessary on pc because you already have good camera control and I currently enjoy the challenge of downing people with the power but it sounds like a must-have on console to even make him playable on there which sucks. Maybe it should become base kit in the console version only? Or something similar to make it better for console players? Some of his add-ons absolutely need nerfs though. The green aura reading add-on is so broken idk why they thought it was a good idea to change the rarity of it from red to green.

I had enough playing him. You can watch any other Blight gameplay to see what I am talking. I will make such posts day one because I don't need to play #########, random and flawed killer for months to realize he is #########, random and flawed.
Also, if you think I didn't have enough experience on him, then you must be thinking my points about his power are incorrect. You are welcome to prove me wrong.
Good luck proving that his power is not map and spawn dependant, it cannot be dodged easily by anyone who knows who to dodge billy and that it is can be used in most loops to effectively shut them down.
It would be fun to watch you try.
Good luck proving that this killer can't do what literally every other killer can't except Deathslinger, Spirit and Nurse can do, and proving that he's not spawn and map dependent like, again, literally every other killer bar a few exceptions? I'm not saying he's one of the best killers in the game, but he's definitely not one of the worst. His PTB version was horrid, and 2 hours is not nearly enough time to get a full opinion of something.

The forums really amaze me sometimes. This dude is insanely strong, can run at 9.2m/s and can actually down in his power. He has insane map presence basically for free, is a zoning monster in his power, and can get easy downs at like half the structures in the game. His addons are just batshit insane good, and he has next to zero stun out of his power, which can be reduced even farther with addons. And somehow he's worse than Legion, who can do none of those and is literally bottom 3 killers in the game.
Y'all need to git gud, seriously.
Unless the killer can teleport to gens, have a passive slowdown and survivor slowing abilities all at the same time most killer mains are gonna hate any new killer that needs some practice.

Next time you play and you start looping the killer tell me you are not running in circle. Because that how it look like
At those small junk loops (for literally less than 10 seconds before you have to drop the pallet) and main buildings, sure, but everywhere else I'm paying attention to what the killer's doing, and if they want to run in a circle, not think about what they're doing, or use their ability in any way to make it not a circle-fest that's on them.
-
Here we go again lmao.

OhTofu just did a video this week where he played Iri Hatchets without the extra hatchets add-on that everybody uses with it. So he only had the one hatchet throw max before loading every time. It still was pretty good, maybe not quite so overpowering as when you use the add-on to carry 3 at a time, so making the add-on say "Can carry maximum of 1 hatchet, overrides other add-ons" might be a good way to tone it down so that particular add-on combo isn't used.
It's definitely a good way to make iri head useless. I'd take addonless Huntress over iri head only Huntress any day of the week. Giving it a range requirement is all we need to change about it. You can dodge a hatchet from a distance, but you can't realistically dodge one when you're up close, and the majority of iri head downs are up close which is why it's so broken and cheap.
-
It's usually due to most of them having a lack of empathy or knowledge of the other side. They don't see it as a problem because they don't have to deal with it. In their eyes these killers are fine and they're ok with survivors having a miserable experience. Goes both ways, sort of, but you get the idea.
-
Who cares if they throw a match? If they wanna do it, let them lmao, being altruistic and causing chaos is one of the most fun parts of DbD. If a group of friends wanna throw themselves at the killer and do dumb ######### for fun so what? It's more fun than sitting on a gen holding M1
-
I mean 90% of the time, DCing against a Mori will give the same result as everyone playing the match out so I don't blame them for doing it. If you wanna get out the match faster... not worth staying around for a useless amount of BPs.

Nah dude according to the killer mains on this forum every killer except Spirit and Deathslinger are all about running in a circle and literally nothing else. Plague is also somewhat ranged too, but I left her in as an option because I quite like her power and the possibilities you can achieve with her.
Still doesn't really tell us anything. My opinion? Play every killer that you wanna play and you'll eventually find your favourite. There are some standout killers you might want to play first though, those being Wraith and Legion. Wraith is great for learning how to find survivors fast and Legion is good to use for practicing chases because you are fully reliant on your fundamentals.

I'd swap out enduring for something like MnA, sloppy or corrupt. Monitor is especially useful because his tr music is deceiving, and only having a 16m radius of that basically turns him into a stealth killer. Sloppy is nice because nobody wants to be injured against Deathslinger because it means certain death, and corrupt is good for the early game.

Honestly same, I miss old ruin skill checks, and watching everyone mess them up. Was an actual secondary objective because not only did almost every killer run ruin, a lot of survivors barely hit the skill checks so they were going out of their way to find the totem. I miss 2019 DbD already.. :(

Swf. Survivors - oh my god, most swfs are casuals and dont use it's free 10 perks, just get good.
3 gens pop in first chase. Survivors - oh my god, gen speed is fine, just pressure better, the game isnt over yet.
Spirit. Survivors - OH MY GOD THIS IS SO UNFAIR!!! She has no counter play. You killers want this game to have no interaction. It's a mind game that we're not in control of, all we have is looping, please nerf.
Wait survivors are only complaining about things that bother them? No way dude!
-
So you want us to tell you what problems we have with Spirit? Do you promise with sugar on top that you won't shoot down everything I say just because you personally don't mind playing against Spirit? Alright SO...
Spirit is not overpowered, she is simply too ridiculously strong in a chase, offering 0 interaction or any meaningful counterplay that isn't "guessing and running to random locations and hope she isn't there whilst phasing". The main thing a survivor wants to do in this game is be in a chase and have that interaction but spirit doesn't allow that, so at that point is there even a reason to play the match out when the killer is so miserable and brain-dead to go against, and none of the skill you've built up even matters?
A good change would be to have her move grass while she's phasing, giving the survivor some kind of indicator as to where she is, so they can actually make a meaningful decision. I don't care if it goes against spirit's design, it's still a bad design from a PvP perspective and needs changing, even something as small a change as this would be enough. Playing AS Spirit would also be more engaging, because now you could make the choice of taking a longer route to the survivor and avoiding the grass etc. It wouldn't fix everything but it would definitely be a good start, and I think a lot of survivors wouldn't be as annoyed if they made a change as small as this.
And I also don't understand the whole "survivors can't run in a circle that's why they don't like spirit and Deathslinger". Like where are you even coming from with this? I sure as hell don't play against a Billy the same way I play against a Nurse, Huntress, Demo and I and many other people love all these killers. And anyone with a brain wouldn't call these killers weak.

I mean "like everyone else" in regards to survivors having two health states and fighting through that. And who?
Edit: wrong reply. This was meant for @ALostPuppy
"Fighting through" two health states? I mean, yeah him and Bubba can instadown at will but that's because they have nothing to help them in a chase except mindgaming with the chainsaw, Billy more than Bubba. There's a reason why so many Billy players run enduring, spirit fury etc. Because they need to be aggressive in a chase and they don't have anything to help slow survivors down or shut down loops like demo, Huntress, Spirit, Hag, Nurse, pyramid head, clown, Freddy...you get the point. But what Billy DOES have is great mobility, which is why good killers won't run slowdown perks on him because frankly they're overkill and not needed, they can run other more fun perks and perks that help him in a chase because like I said, he's not very good at it compared to most other M1 killers

What I am saying, as I always have, is don't replace your weapon with your power, quit playing on easy mode and learn the game LIKE THE REST OF US.
If you are going to misinterpret my statements, please make it somewhat believable. I have been over this argument about Hillbilly several times and my opinion will forever remain unchanged at this point, since I have faced so many Hillbillies, and especially ones who rely on the old insta-saw add-ons.
At least now Overheat will make people think about when to use their power more than just "see survivor, rev saw".
Sorry but Billy does have to learn the game like the "Rest of them"? He doesn't ignore loops, in fact he probably has to respect them the most out of any killer apart from maybe Wraith and other killers that have weak chase powers. You're not playing a different game like hag or spirit, you're playing the same way as every normal killer, the only difference is you go fast and kill dumb people who make mistakes faster. Idk how much hexy you had to watch to get that idea but geez.

The only one I bought was this one for Cheryl because I had auric cells left over and I never want to buy into that awful battle pass again

Never because why would you dodge lobbies and waste more time lmao just play the match out. Also idk what people are talking about when they say they don't care about medkits but are scared of toolboxes like what? What patch are we playing on again? Toolboxes are still quite good but 4 good medkits is probably the strongest thing a survivor team can bring into a match. The purple medkit with a charge or heal speed add-on is busted. If you don't have a 1-shot it's nearly impossible to win against that. Sloppy and Thana don't do anything against that, and with the new perks like Built to Last, oh boy.
Also idk why people dodge flashlights, they're useless unless you're wraith or Hag.

Sole Survivor is another one I like. Other than BBQ, if the killer is using any other aura reading, Sole Survivor is great.
The only thing I hate is that it has no use at no tokens.
Why is it always the Clown mains that have the weirdest, most 5head opinions on the forum lmao.
That being said if sole survivor had a starting range of 20 metres or so It could be a decent perk

I use it to run and stab survivors, whilst under the illusion that Legion actually has an ability.

yeah, well, I used to play Billy before the rework, and now I don't. Those sound changes ruined the experience, and I can't even take him seriously when facing him. I mean, ugh. The roar makes a little part of me die every time I hear it. No one enjoys it other than the people who like the idea of him charging forth like some kind of braindead animal. That image is not scary.
And the tank sounds....ew.
and the chainsaw hitbox....just...hahhhhhh (Edit: on the survivor side)
Made me only play three killers on the regular since these changes (down from 5, and since the Nurse enjoyment-of-the-experience-nerf, 6).
I'd 100% rather have a Billy keep trying to curve on me over a Billy who doesn't because the overheat mechanic is a thing.
I've seen no one say, "Billy is so much more fun to play now! It's such a more fulfilling experience than before! The overheat mechanic really positively impacts my use of the chainsaw!" or "Billy is so much more fun to go against! He feels so much more fair as a killer!" No. No one says that. Mainly because its objectively false, but secondarily because he's become less popular and people think about him less. That second part of the sentence there really seems to be at the heart of the developers more recent balance changes. "If we make the killer less fun to play, then less killers will play said killer in matches, and survivors will complain less about the killer!"
Honestly, I'm so disappointed with the team doing these reworks, and yes, that includes the graphics changes.
On a positive note, I'm really liking that the devs used Disturbed Ward for the spotlight video! Great choice of map.
Yep I'm the same. I've tried playing him a bit but Jesus Christ that stupid roar actually annoys me to the point where I don't want to play him anymore. It's a shame too because his chase music is great. And nobody else wants to play Billy because, while it isn't a big deal, nobody enjoys babysitting a stupid overheat mechanic. The need to the cooldown rate is actually kind of noticeable and I chainsaw less because of it. As for playing against Billy I can't really say because I have seen LITERALLY 0 Billy players since his rework. Almost like that overheat mechanic was the stupidest change they could've ever done to him, and removing his charge time and cooldown reduction add-ons was the easiest and only change he needed...
Edit - oh and phantom saws are still a thing, as I found out yesterday. Really cool and interesting BHVR, that doubled tick rate sure did solve every problem with the game :)
