It's rude to leave someone on the ground for upwards of 4 minutes when they could be in another match having fun, but devs are fine with whatever crappy tactics killers use to 4k.
I think the tactic may justify the game play. If you have a squad of 4 ultra alutrisic teammates who bring in flashlights and are lined up at every pallet along the way the counter is to slug and leave them on the ground because you know they are going to come save their teammate.
However, i can agree with you that the tactic is crappy if you are by yourself, no other survivor is close and the killer runs across the map to find another. That is poor gameplay on the killer's side.
-
I would have to assume then that either the other player's connection is poor or there is something else going on. I am a PC player and only have that issue when another players ping is extremely high. Most of the time though they don't disconnect, they just rubberband around.
-
You take some responsibility of risk playing this game. That could be showing your IP, it could be permitting yourself to be abused, to language in post-game chat. The only true way to protect yourself is not to play.
However, just because games like F13 have dedicated servers does not mean that it is a simple cost-effective solution. F13 has roughly 1000 or so players on the game so dedicated servers are a drop in the hat for a game that retails at $40 usd. Dead by Daylight is 1/2 to 1/4 (on sale) that cost. They have to pay a portion of that to Steam, Humble, etc. Not to mention that until June/July 2018 this company was under management by another company. Most likely a venture capitalist group who they owed money too. Then add in licensing rights they paid for quite a few characters. None of these even cover the overhead cost of salaries, equipment, and keeping the lights on.
Removing financials the game was also built on a P2P code. So rebuilding the code from the ground up (I assume, not a programmer) could take months to years in order to get it to a dedicated server. That takes someone who is trained in networking and programming not to mention adding staff to run the servers and maintain them etc.
With all that said and done, while we as a player group would love dedicated servers it will take more than 2 years because the foundation/groundwork is not there.
-
PC or console? Also, what is your internet speed?
-
The game is not broken. That wait time is because of the event. During normal gameplay it is normally 5 or so minutes. That escalates when events happen and many survivors thirst for more bloodpoints. While it may not be fun it is just because there are more people queuing up as killer.

Nickenzie said:Devs are more concerned about popping out cosmetics for people we already have so they can get money
About that...While they have time to make cosmetics, those are fundamentally way easier to make than new killers.
Killers need a different mechanic for their playstyle to be unique and fun. Otherwise, BHVR will get yelled at like Bubba and Hillbilly.
They also need to make sure it does not break anything more than is already broken.
-
The problem with your suggestion is that BHVR does not have dedicated servers. If they implement a Dedicated server then you can implement more bans and cooldowns. Until then, hopefully, they have enough evidence to ban people.

It is fair imo.
Not everyone has the chance to play 24hs/day.
Someone has to go to work and do the job while hardcore players are doing the grind ...Yes we understand this. I do at least.
I'm just asking for at least 1 more 3 piece set be open to grind for.
The event is 13 days long man.
Don't act like its just this coming weekend.

The only ones with elitism here is you and the rest, you want more free stuff end of story, you can't explain it away anymore. You may have 13 days but what about everyone else that doesn't have those 13 days to do it? All you're showing is that you're feeling entitled to get more than what's been offered.
Wrong.
It's a 13 day event.
I'm just asking mainly... that we have a chance to unlock 3 more pieces during the event for free.
The rest can be behind a pay wall. I'm fine with that. I get it.
Not everyone is taking 2 week vacations right now... and if they are. Good for them.
Their choices shouldn't affect me right?
The problem I have with this is that you may ask for one, then the next person asks for two, then three, then they are all free. The problem isn't that they give one skin away for free, it is that people EXPECT them to give more away and won't be happy no matter what they get.
I am not trying to call you out, but even if BHVR came out today and said two free ones people would scream for more. They have to make a decision and all of us as a player group has to make decisions too. Their decision is how do we make money to pay our staff and keep our game going and we as players have to decide when enough is enough.
I understand there are many players and many of us here on the forums that have sunk hours into this game. The grind is not pretty, but an event should bring more players and more money in, not be an event to grind for things. This game is enough grind stop trying to add new things to grind for.
Many hardcore DBD players say this will be 1-2 days worth of grind, but for those average players that 1-2 grind is 10 or so days. I am sorry you have time to sit and grind that long many don't. I think this is more than fair allow those who have the time to earn them and those who want more pay for them. Everyone is on an even playing field then.

Once one of the gates are opened. So 5 gens finished and at least 1 gate open the Hatch closes or no longer spawns. It is still there if you are the last remaining survivor and the gens have not been completed.
-
@Vortexas said:
Still no ones proved me wrong. The last survivor is not entitled to a free escape, which is exactly what the Hatch is considering Bhvr bitc hed out on the close the hatch change, and have NOT mentioned when or IF it will be revisited.
So to prove you wrong, you are in no way "ENTITLED" to a 4k because you killed/camped/ tunneled the other 3 players. So if a team is terrible, but one player isn't they deserve the opportunity to escape. I know this can be abused. Sure, you will have some urban evading Claudette who will camp over the hatch while 2 or 3 of their teammates are on hooks, but there are some legitimately good survivors who solo queue with terrible teammates. They deserve an opportunity, this is the keyword OPPORTUNITY, to escape. You have the OPPORTUNITY to catch and kill them before they get there, so use your OPPORTUNITY to do so.
So how about you find the urban evading player before they get to the hatch? You should not get a free kill because one survivor did objectives and you did yours. As a killer main the hatch should only be removed once the game has a gate opened. That way you don't have someone just sitting on the hatch. Otherwise, hit the survivor and go play another trial.

PhantomMask20763 said:If a survivor escapes through hatch when the gates are not opened it counts as a kill in my eyes. Unless they took a key.
Whatever helps you sleep at night.
It's so silly how desperate some of you are for 4ks. You will literally willfully delude yourself into believing that an escape is a kill.
Do you really see that as desperation? As a killer main I see two kills as a tie, 3 kills as a win, and 4 kills as domination. However, I am not above carrying survivors to the hatch and letting them go. Nor am I above letting people use a hatch to leave.
The thing is that other killers whine about the hatch because they feel the "deserve" something. Many survivors feel they too 'deserve' something. So why not just let the hatch be and allow survivors to escape. The hatch should, however, disappear once all generators are completed and the gates are open. Hatch should only be a final solution to escape to save hope, not a lets hang around and get extra points feature.
-
Here is the thing. THIS GAME WILL NEVER BE BALANCED. Get over the idea that it will be.
We can use Miriam-Webster's Dictionary for the definition of Asymmetrical - having two sides or halves that are not the same.
So trying to balance this around the majority of players is a bad idea. Balancing this around the sweaty players is a bad idea. Balancing this around the low Ranks is a bad idea. Balancing it around the high ranks is a bad idea. The list goes on.
So the only thing you can do is try to accommodate players. So how about this: KILLERS - 2 KILLS IS A WIN, 3 KILLS IS JUST DESERTS, AND 4 KILLS IS SAUCE ON YOUR SURVIVOR PUDDING. Done. The game is balanced towards killers!
SURVIVORS - 2 SURVIVORS ESCAPE THAT IS A DRAW. 3 SURVIVORS ESCAPE THAT IS A WIN. 4 SURVIVORS ESCAPE CONGRATS HAVE FUN WITH PARTY STREAMERS.
Simple. The thing is that Killers DEMAND that they make the game killer sided, but in reality, it needs the 2:2 ratio. You need enough survivors surviving so that not everyone is a killer and you need enough kills so that not everyone is a survivor. You balance it around the core mechanic of Kill/Deaths per game and you will get the best result.

@fcc2014 Common sense is lacking I can definitely agree. People don't want to change how they play, "Git Gud", because it takes time and effort so they scream for the Devs to change things to cater to their style of play so they can continue to be lazy.

-Can be closed by the killer which takes 2sHowever...
-The killer cannot preform a hatch grabIn addition
-Finishing the last generator will not open the hatch, but it will start both exit gates 30% open
-If the killer has closed the hatch, the survivor cannot open it unles they have a pink or purple key. Otherwise, the hatch will remain closed for the rest of the trialHere are my criticisms of this, while we all agree that the hatch is broken, this in no way helps the game.
As a killer main, instead of a hatch standoff, I LET THE SURVIVORS TAKE THE HATCH! Problem solved. Really, it is simple. I may hit them to get a few extra points, kinda like the exit gate, but why make it an issue. Hell, many times I reward a survivor with the hatch if they played well or had good sportsmanship or had a really bad team.
The thing is the hatch should never open once a gate is open. SImple and easy. It can open with a key or if everyone but the last survivor is dead.
The thing is that anything more than 2K for a killer is a win. So 3K great! Just let them try and find the hatch or kill them before they get there. Otherwise, just let them have it and move on.
"But why? They don't deserve it?" Maybe they do, did you think of that? Maybe they were the only one working on generators as their team farmed each other or all were standing around you the killer. Maybe they had a great few outplays that they lost/juked you.
The thing is it is a game. No real life or death scenario here, just a game. So what if 1 survivor escapes, just let them have the hatch and move on. You can earn more points by jumping into the next game asap than you can fighting over the damned hatch.

The other issue, unfortunately, is that the reporting system is owned by a 3rd party on the console. You cannot change the 3rd party, which is why the PC is better for that type of reporting.

You were trying to start a fight. The problem is that you are trying to cover up the fact that you are not a good enough killer by saying you won't purchase skins.

I would argue that if you know someone has decisive strike and you down them 10 meters from a hook and you don't dribble the player to the hook, that you are a bad killer. Giving the other players working on generators an extra 30 - 60 seconds while you run down a decisive strike user that could have been hooked is just bad strategy. But as is always the case, play the game the way you like. If you want to give the DS survivor every opportunity to use DS before hooking, go right ahead.
You could also just leave them on the ground and put pressure elsewhere. However, you and I can definitely agree that you should play this game how you want not how others want you to play.
-
Look, I am a killer main. I love playing the killer. BUT POSTS LIKE THIS MAKE ALL THE GOOD/GREAT KILLERS LOOK LIKE TRASH BECAUSE YOU CANNOT PLAY THE GAME.
I am sorry, but gen tapping is not an exploit. If you think it is, you are playing the wrong game. I bet you are a killer who thinks DStike is the worst thing in the world. Is it unpleasant, yes, but dribbling someone to the hook because you can not outplay them is not a bad design, but a bad player!
So while you will have this community talking about it the only real response is "GIT GUD" because gen tapping won't prevent you from winning. Failing to improve and become a better player overall will. So quit whining and trying to make the game easier for terrible killers and elevate your gameplay instead.
-
You are right. I think they just need to get rid of a few perks. DStrike is up there as the first they should get rid of.
I would hate this game so much if everyone ran the same damn 4 perks every game. #MakeAllPerks Viable. The only reason you feel that the grind is too much is because you just want a Meta perk.
-
@lyric Is right. Just run deer stalker if that is what you need to keep track of survivors. It does not sound like a game issue that sound like a player who chose the wrong perk for their playstyle issue.
-
@Doc_W__HOLLIDAY said:
Thats not what he means. He's talking about how perks like Distressing and No-one Left Behind only boost your BP IN-game. Meaning you still only max a certain category at 8000 BP.
This also includes BP boosting add-ons for killers that basically nerf their powers. Trapper's Padded Jaws, Wraith's new add-on, Billy/Leatherface Speed Limiter, etc. Those don't boost your overall score at the end of the match, they only help boost how quickly you earn the points.
TLDR;
These add-ons should boost your BP post trial as opposed to in-game, because they're completely useless as of right now.
I could be wrong, but I thought that number was just a generic number. I thought they had lifted the category number past 8K a few months or almost a year ago, but just kept it at 8K for showing purposes.
-
So what is your suggestion? The worst part of any trial is sitting and pressing space bar. I don't think increasing the time it takes will help at all, let alone it is boring to do that to survivors.
You could mix it up so that other buttons are used rather than just space bar so it mixes it up a bit. You could also add different objectives, but please don't just add repair time because people think it goes too quick.
-
@Socks said:
The pallet looping is mind boggling. I'm fairly new to the game and wanted to know how long the looping has been like this. It provides for the most boring gameplay and I couldn't see any developer thinking that it was acceptable. Could you imagine watching a horror movie where the survivor ran in a circle over and over? The higher the rank, the worse its gotten. In addition, what kind of chase is expected to last almost a minute?
I am not really sure what it is your are asking/telling us? The game does not have many mechanics to it. Survivors complete generators and try to escape from the killer when needed. There is nothing else to really do. So pallets and looping are part of the way really the only way that survivors can escape.
So in theory yes, I guess the devs programmed it that way. It has been that way since Day 1. It has gotten quite a bit better with new placements of pallets and closing off certain windows.
-

@Grimbergoth said:
You also remarked that its unfair to punish people for playing with friends , but that is exactly what you are doing to the killer . You are punishing them because you want to play with friends . If you take the enjoyment from the game for either side , guess what one side stops to play , where does that leave things in the end ?
Here is where I think the biggest issue lies with your argument. SWF is a game mode - like queuing up as the killer. The two are totally different queues but end up meeting together. You are discussing punishing people in the game for a behavior that is out of the game. Now if you have modified or changed said files that change how dead by daylight is played, that can be seen and should be punished. Banning is the punishment for the changes to the files.
However, no one is tampering with the game files. There is no way to tell if an SWF is 100% using communications. It is not built into the game and trying to punish someone, like taking away the BP that they earned, is not justified. That is like saying because someone is running an Antivirus on their system that they should not be allowed to queue solo and only can play KYF. It is something that has nothing to do with the game that is written and run by another 3rd party.
Do killers get put at a disadvantage because of the use of the software? Yes, I never denied that there is an advantage that voice has in the game, but killer's are not being punished because of it.
The other thing is that most of your arguments seem to originate around the idea that ALL SWF teams are:
Player A: Ok, I am working on the Gen in the Big Red Barn....No heartbeat here. Player B: I am on the Cornfield Generator Still no...Wait there is a heartbeat...He maybe coming your way. Player C: I am here and I have eyes on the killer repeat Bogey at 10:00....
In reality:
Player A: And that is why the latest Spider-Man game is the best game to ever be created. Player B: I think....inaudible noise...Ma....Watson is..... Player C: Dude are you chewing again. Player
Shut up everyone I am trying to hear what is going on around me. Player A: Screams....Its myers....oh.Most players in the game queue with 2-4 players because playing games is social. You talk about removing bloodpoints, but a majority of the player base would be punished for just chatting about endless stuff that does not help their game play.
So when I say don't punish players for playing SWF, what I mean is find a better way than suggesting a removal of bloodpoints for their play style. What I suggested before was build in game features to improve all survivors...Solo included. Once that is completed then you can truly improve the killers and the game to take into consideration voice communications. Just saying "Opt-Out" or "Remove BP" is harmful to the game as a whole and does legitimately punish survivors.
But remember, this is an Asymmetrical game. That means one side is already at a disadvantage and in this game it is the Killer. While the killer targets 1 person the other 3 could be doing generators, again putting the killer at a disadvantage to win which is part of the very nature of the game. There will never be a balance, just a swaying pendulum that shifts with changes.
-
@Grimbergoth said:
if you enjoy playing in a swf group why would you need the exp/bp perks of it . If this is a casual group of people playing what a hour maybe 2 every few days together why is this a issue?
The BP is why many people grind the game and why even more play as SWF groups. Taking that away and forcing people to play solo queue is just forcing trash into the solo queue. Again teams will lobby dodge to find one another to earn BP. If they fix the grind issue, maybe there will be less problems, but a key benefit to SWF is earning those Bloodpoints. Popping party streamers and knowing you won't be just left hanging on a hook. Running offerings which grant stackables. Etc. If you eliminate BP from SWF it becomes a Jurassic Park Quote "They will find a way"
So this is not a logical solution. Again punishing people for playing with friends is not an option.
-
I know the grind is bad, but I think the perks should be reworked first, before fixing the grind. I say this because I don't want to go every match playing against the same 4 perks. Make the other perks great so there are more variable builds, then fix the grind. If all survivors/killers run the meta build it makes the game less fun. All speeding up the grind would do is make those meta perks easier to get.
-
I know they are working on other game modes, but I think most of them should require Dedicated servers before they release anything.
-
What are you debating on changing?
-
I will say this, as a killer main, I let the survivor have the hatch. Now, with that said a few things matter to make this decision.
- Is my time worth a few extra bloodpoints?
A. Yes. Even if it is 3 hours those bloodpoints matter that much?
B. No, the realistic answer. It is not worth standing there for a kill. Let the survivor have it and go play a different trial or a different game that is more valuable than staring at an avatar that may not do anything.
99.9% of the time my time is more valuable..
.1 percent my times is not it is a No. That no = I can grab them when they make a jump in during a chase or tripped a hag trap next to the hatch. My time is too valuable to sit around for hours. Sorry other killer's I think you are in the wrong here. Survivors don't press your luck. If your gates are powered leave through the gate if the killer is near. Don't force it longer. If it is all you have, hope you are playing against me unless the other killers get smart.
- Is my time worth a few extra bloodpoints?
-
@Grimbergoth said:
Yes I think the swf mechanic is a problem as it is , and I have said they could remove it totally which would be unfair to those who want to play with friends , giving the killer to opt out would be one solution , and I have said that if they removed the exp and bp gains from swf it would stop a lot of the toxic groups as they gain nothing for it , but those just wanting to play with friends could .
The problem with your suggestions is the punish people for wanting to play together. That is my key point. If I want to play solo in this game I could get everything. I could be killer - play it solo now without issue. I can play survivor solo now, and I get left on a hook because I don't have a friend or a partner.
However, if you make an opt out, now as a killer I have to wait 20 minutes while players jump in and out of my lobby trying to find their friends because the SWF queue has a huge wait time. If you don't think that is going to happen you should try to locate video and DbD steam/reddit posts from when the game came out and people begged for SWF. Their solution to no SWF was to lobby dodge until they met up with each other anyway.
If you take away BP for this game you get rid of the reason to play it. You might as well make all the games KYF because there is no reason for anyone to pair up to play a match. Removing bloodpoints or rewards for playing with your friends is punishment.
I am not sure if the statistic is still true, but the Devs said something like 70% of the games are played as some form of SWF. 2, 3, or 4 players. So now you are impacting all SWF even duos teams to target the 5% that are truly toxic? How about we make suggestions that don't punish players for wanting to play with friends? How about we target ways to improve the game around voice communications. For example, we give the solo survivors and all survivors more information. Give all players the way to see who is the obsession, make the character show running if they are in a chase, maybe show generator or crouch if working on a generator, etc. Just little symbols that give all survivors similar information. Once you give them the information it makes voice communications less impactful on the game. Sure the solo player or non grouped players need to pay attention more when the voice is not there, but it puts them on a level playing field.
Then once those fixes are in place, you can add features, perks, and strengthen the killer to balance around the information that all survivors have. This is a win win solution versus penalizing the SWF teams. Then we don't have to discuss 5th perks or more bp or an opt out (ez mode) button for killers. This will make the quality of the game better for both sides.

@JackieEstacadoWhen said:
I don't know what rank your at but at ranks 3-1 it's not uncommon to see a short list of people repeatably throughout your sessions.
The devs have gotten a lot of flak for their unreliable report system in-game and taking out the other one months ago and the recent video's of tru3 getting streamsniped + sandbagged by trolls sparked intense conversation about it. In haste to quiet it down and take the heat off they rushed out a new report guideline but failed to address the gray areas and/or make things too vague.
So there are two issues you bring up:
Rank. Rank is bs in this game. It is so easy I could set my 4 year old nephew down and he could make rank 1 in a few hours/days without having really any skill. The survivors and killer basically just need to breathe to rank up. It means absolutely nothing. Now, a short list is true at those ranks, but even with a short list there are still 10000 or so players who are probably playing at those ranks. It will take quite a bit for you to get enough games over a 20-30 game period for it to even be considered as a ban and we are also talking some really bad stuff before you would get banned. I think BHVR is intelligent enough to see that "Numbnutts69" reported along with 3 other players 22 times, but the killer has never had any other complaints that they just throw it out and ban the false reporters. I am almost 100% certain that I have a better chance at throwing a dart into the air, lie face down in the ground, and have the dart hit a predetermined freckle on my butt than someone has the chance at getting banned because 1 SWF team reported them multiple times.
Tru3, like him or not, is a public figure. He personally is a celebrity and will get targeted and sandbagged, because he is a public figure. Streamers like JenDenise, Morf, AngryPug, and Bahroo all have the same thing happen. It is part of the problem with streaming and there is no way to stop it, but you cannot take just one person's word for something no matter who they are.
So the argument boils down to history. History of the reporter, the history of the reported, and history of their interactions together. I am willing to bet that BHVR will inspect before making any decisions and if in doubt they won't do anything. They are probably looking for exact undisputable evidence that something happened, before banning people from playing their game.

People only care about one side . swf groupies think they should be able to do what they want and play in a group with its advantages if they want , and I agree that they should be able to play with friends if they want . But if a killer doesn't want to play against a organized group they shouldn't be forced to either . And at this point the swf group gets all the perks as the devs ignore the flipside of it and force a killer to endure it . They don't even acknowledge or respond to questions about doing anything about the swf unbalance . If they have then I have yet to be able to find anything on it .
However, you just pointed out thinking about it one-sided and then complain it is only against killers.
In reality, it is not a balance issue, it is a game health and quality of life issue. Before you probably even heard of DbD the game had been released in March 2016 without SWF. Lobbies took forever to play because survivors would pop in and out trying to find one another to play with. Lobbies easily took 10-15 minutes because of this.
From a player standpoint, I understand wanting to play with friends. Many games, including this one, are better with others. I can also understand there is a struggle. However, the one major thing you should not do is allow for a disable SWF matching or consistently dodge those queues.
There are a few arguments here. As a killer is it unfair to go against a group? Yes, but all you would be doing is punishing those players because they want to play with others. They have to wait longer and may never find a game. In reality, most players would choose the easy option by disabling it. The grind would be easier, the toxicity would be less, but in exchange, you take away 90% of the player base.
Separating the queues into SWF and non-SWF would kill this game. Might as well pack up and go find something else to play because this game would be on life support.
Again, I understand it is unfair, but avoiding it like a disable SWF button would do is just as bad as the devs not addressing how to better build the game around it.

@Hellbilly said:
Okay, there's still problems with that. Let's say you get matched to an SWF squad. Let's say there's one guy, Kingshitlord, who is obviously like the leader of the squad. What if every time you matched to this squad and no matter your best attempts you're ONLY able to get Kingshitlord every time? So therefore, Kingshitlord can make up some BS and cry to the devs to get you banned.
If the devs are going off of screen shots then the guy playing victim can construct a narrative based on 5-6 screen shots even if the matches are more than a week apart. Like say, you get matched to the guy twice then next week it was once then the week after it was three times.
Not to mention that Kingshitlord can tell his SWF buddies to report you as well.
You see how this can be abused?
No, because it is extremely rare to see the same players over and over and over again. Once or twice maybe, but you will probably see at least another group in between or after a back to back match. What you are failing to see is the history of the situation. 1-2 games is not going to ban you. Now if you are 10-15 games and the only person you kill is Kingshitlord then maybe you will have some issues.
The real issue is you are looking at a 1% chance of what you described happening. Again this is a repeatable behavior that is deemed as harassment. The times I do see players in the same lobby are when they are stream sniping a streamer. You should worry less about being banned from this report more about things that will actually matter like verbally harassing players to ######### or Racial slurs because unfortunately, that is way more common.

I call playing killer "Salt Mining" because it is exactly that. If you win, you are called names, cheater, tunneler, camper, etc. If you lose you are EZ and teabagged.
Play how you want to play. Do not let anyone tell you what you need to do, because as a killer, all you need to do is have fun for yourself. If you do that, win or lose you are playing for keeps.

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/19450/game-rules-and-report-system
In the updated rules and Report System the above statement is listed in the Temp Ban Section for a temporary ban.
"Targeting specific users repeatedly in order to ruin their game experience" That is very vague and not very descriptive of what that entails. It seems like many survivors are going to take being hooked a second time (due to a teammate making a bad save likely) as being targeted and ruining their game.In the non-bannable offense section it states that tunneling is not a bannable or reportable offense. Just seeking clarification as the first statement feels like it is talking about tunneling to me.
There is a very easy clarification here. The phrasing may be lengthy, but the word the team is looking for is Harassment. Tunneling, camping, stream sniping in one match is not harassment. That is just a player playing a game. Purposefully targeting a player multiple games in a row to ruin the experience is harassment. There has to be multiple games and multiple cases in order for a ban to occur. There has to be a history built up for this to happen. This does not happen in 2 or so games or just because someone reported the player.
So there is nothing major to really question.

There could and should still be a solution. The game can use a system of checks to see why the game ended: if it was a host disconnect or a completion of the game. If the game ends, but survivors are still alive, time spent playing is low, ping was high, etc the game should the recognize this as not a completed game but rather a host disconnect.
You did not understand the actual problem that I stated was the cause. Sure, a series of checks is great to program into a game. Where is that held? On the hosting server. So each player has details and information, but the HOST AKA KILLER is the one that is collecting all that data and sending it back to the HQ Server.
So let's say that something from HQ calls home to check...it will keep calling to the HOST AKA KILLER server. If that connection does not make it then what? There is no data to collect. All it can see is the final condition, not who disconnected from the game. So as long as this game is 100% P2P hosted that data cannot process WHO the disconnector is. So it takes the benefit of the doubt that the killer did not disconnect and that the game ended.
I understand it is a frustrating thing to happen, but the other case would be losing blood points and data like ranks causing most likely more issues than keeping the data stored locally on players systems did. That caused loss of legacy and other things.
While it is disappointing it right now is the best solution UNTIL they put in dedicated servers.

They don't officially make statements so we never have any idea about when things come out. The rumors wouldn't have even been a thing/a problem if they normally announced release dates.
They just made one earlier this afternoon. Stating it will be out early next week depending on the certification process from the consoles. So, they do make announcements and are even upgrading their presence by posting on youtube live and others in the future.

If consoles were supposed to use a keyboard and mouse they would come with it. As is you need an adapter, though I believe Sony came out with a compact k+m that is compatible without one a while back.I think it shouldn't be a viable option in the first place because if you're gonna use a k+m on a console, why not just buy a PC? People argued over this a lot back when Overwatch first came out. People do it for games like Overwatch and R6 Siege on consoles because they want a considerable advantage over everyone else, knowing that a majority are using a controller as is intended with the console and that they can't compete with PC players.
It doesn't affect DBD as much as it does other games because aside from Huntress and Nurse it's not really that hard to aim your attacks. Though consoles suffer far worse issues than aiming with stick, like not being consistently even 30fps. Wouldn't be surprised if the game struggled to reach 20fps. K+m on console is still cheating though. All the devs I've seen talk about it, agree too.
I'm pc user, was just thinkin about it

If you are a PC user you should just play on PC. Better FPS, Better Controls, Better Experience. I am not digging at the console players, but this game was built for PC. Why would you go to console?

Place bets now:Devs: "Sorry we allowed the community to believe a rumor that we did nothing to dispel, and our own community manager trolled you all instead of trying to manage the situation, we are working really hard to get the chapter out, but we commited to getting it for all platforms at the same time, and we were waiting on certification/bugfixes. We will keep you informed as soon as we have a date, but we also can't commit to date because certain factors are outside of our control."
OR
Devs: "You guys shouldn't have believed the wiki, if we havn't given a date for the chapter, there is no date for the chapter, just keep playing the game and don't worry about it, it's just a game why do you have to take things so seriously, nerds."
Or Option 3: "We apologize that many of you believed that the DLC was coming out this week. We are unsure where the rumors started, but we never officially announced any details as to a release date. Due to our legal team issuing NDAs we were never able to discuss publically confirmation or denial. All we were able to provide is a response of Soon. We were not trolling you, we just could not honestly state any details under that agreement. We know you are all excited and we know this will happen again in the future. To prevent this we request each and every one of you wait until we officially make a statement. The old quote Assumptions make an Ass out of You and Me rings true here.

My guess is they'll just say they're releasing it next Tuesday with a bloodhunt date announcement as well
I think this is exactly it, maybe not Tuesday, but announce a date of release and discuss the hunt. I state this because the comments under the stream announcement say they are going to play DeathGarden immediately following the stream.
I think they would want to watch this hype DLC go live.
-
I could be wrong, but based on the banner at the top of the forums this morning it sounds like they will be discussing a few things. BUT I don't feel as though we will have a DLC launch today. If you look the 5 community members are going to be playing Deathgarden following the live stream.
Logically, I think they would all want to be watching matches when it goes live versus playing a different game. Sorry to use logic and I know most times logic with this company can be questioned, but I don't think the new chapter is coming today.

I cannot remember in the PTB, but I would assume the new killer will have her own music. While not the original, it would not surprise me if the music changes with her release.

The game has to be able to know if it was the killer (AKA the host) who disconnected, therefor returning all our items.Until Dedicated Servers are a thing (IF they will ever be implemented) there is no way to tell. The thing is that the Killer becomes the host automatically the moment the library is generated. It sends some details back to relay end game stats. Those end game stats are generated when the killer says they are generated. So ending a game at any point = end game stats.
-
I think it is because actual skilled killers don't "need" bloodlust 3. In most cases it is the really crappy killers who just pace back and forth waiting for 3 to attack. In many cases, unless you are going against uber pro SWF toxic AF players, which if this is the case you are probably playing nurse, you should hit a survivor in 1-2 BL.

I want to ######### and whine and complain about people bitching, whining, and complaining that the DLC and 2X BP Event are not out yet.
COME ON!!!
