Who's a little edgelord? YOU are! Oh, yes you are!
First time I've gotten that one. Go ahead and ignore my completely valid point, btw.
I'm over all of the comments calling this map "bad," with the reasoning "I can't find anything/I keep running into dead ends/etc." It makes absolutely no sense; just learn the map, it doesn't change. If your complaints are valid, cool. If you keep complaining about your lack of map knowledge, then blame the map for that, how does that make any sense? Sounds to me like a lot of people are just whining because it takes a bit of effort to learn.

I think the map looks gorgeous, but I hate playing on it. It's a maze filled with dead ends, but the worst thing is how the survivors in Solo queue just hook suicide or d/c on it.
It's a "maze" that never changes. If you keep running into dead-ends, that's on you. Learn the map.

I'm not minimizing anything. The fact that you people cry about people DCing in a videogame so much blows the whole situation out of proportion. You people are extremely entitle when playing this game and expect people to play a certain way. It's really sad that you compare real life situations to a random match in a videogame.
In that situation it makes sense cause they're not going to sit there and would rather just move on to the next match. It doesn't mean every other DC is like that. Really cause BHVR themselves have said they haven't seen that much higher DC rates when it was on and turned off.
Well there are still reports of it not being fixed on older gens so they can't. Just cause you haven't had any problems doesn't mean other people have.
If the community actually did any pushing the game could possibly be in a better state. Just cause you guys post videos or post things on their forums doesn't mean they'll do something. If anything happens BHVR just throws some bps at everyone and you all go quiet until something else happens and the cycle continues.
How do you connect me going against the penalty systems as a person that DCs all the time? How do you support a penalty system in this game that clearly has problems with it that no one, not even the devs, will work on? I'm not sorry that I can see the obvious flaws in the game and don't try to pretend they're not there.
Yeah, dude. Not wanting your game ruined by entitled teammates who can't handle it, and requesting an already existing DC penalty to come back, is totally blowing things out of proportion. You're clearly refusing to see the points being made by me and this thread, so I'm done. It's all been laid out pretty clearly and anyone who isn't deliberately trying not to, can understand why allowing teammates to DC willy nilly is a problem. All you need to do is play a single game with a DC to see that.
Btw, you should stop bundling everyone who disagrees with you into a singular group and you should also stop making sweeping assumptions of people based on a single topic. I'm not a BHVR fanboy and I've not defended them. This is about players who leave games and BHVR reinstating a penalty system to prevent that. The game has enough problems, I don't need selfish, entitled players adding another.
Peace.

Dude, I'd friggin' love a Dead Space Chapter. That's easily one of my favorite survival/horror games out there.
Idk if it'd ever happen, but with the Dead Space Remaster being announced, I could see it being possible.

I just take solace in the fact that I'm mainly looking at the back of her head all match. I had the same outlook while playing old Claire.

The game has no bearing on your life so the comparison is dead.
You don't know exactly what they're DCing for every time and basically saying is that we punish everyone because of the crime of a few.
The game has a mountain sized list of bugs. The system shouldn't even be in place when there are so many bugs that can just cause the game to crash and punish people for something they didn't mean to do. Once BHVR actually fixes all the bugs and actually does things to better the game is when I'll fully accept them putting a penalty system in.
BHVR creates problems, those problems causes people to DC. By you not calling out BHVR and the things they do to keep the problems going is you defending them. Tell BHVR to remove the ability to leave early and you won't be screw by your teammates. Better yet get them to introduce bots, which they already have on mobile, to take people's places so that people on both sides stop crying about DCing in general.
The community won't push BHVR to do anything to better the game cause they are weak and can be easily bought off with shards and bps.
The comparison is not dead my guy, read what I said. Not only did your "pressing a few buttons," comment sidestep the entire function of pressing a few buttons, but it was a pathetic attempt at minimizing what is actually going on. My counter-example highlighted that perfectly.
And dude, when someone gets downed by a Killer and DC's while getting picked up, then you see another DC or 2 follow, it's not hard to figure out what's going on. On top of that, when the DC penalty is removed, DC's happen significantly more than when it's on. These aren't the "crimes of a few."
In terms of bugs/performance issues causing crashes, I'm on a PS4 Pro and haven't crashed out of a game in months, if not longer. I understand some people were having issues, thus the penalty being temporarily disabled. Now that there should be a fix, it's time for the penalty to come back.
And the community doesn't push BHVR? Are you kidding me? Have you not seen all of the posts and videos that have been made for years calling out BHVR for the countless issues this game has? They just don't listen, and/or aren't quick enough at listening. Eventually, it's going to bite them and I think we're starting to see the beginning of that, now. These past 2 Chapters have been disasters and I can only imagine it's going to get worse. Some things definitely need to change.
Regardless, you sound like you're grasping at any sliver of justification you can find, legitimate or not, to keep DC penalties off. And if I had to bet, you're either someone who DC's all the time yourself, or the only reason you don't is because of the penalty. If you're the former, enjoy your ban. If you're the latter, then you're proof the system works.
-
I know it can spawn in the Library, on the upper level. Can't the hatch also spawn on the mid-staircase landing on Midwich too?
I know it's not supposed to spawn on the 2nd floor(from my understanding), but it seems like there are some exceptions.
-
Probably for the best; the map definitely doesn't need those added to it. Although, I'm not gonna lie, I'd love to see Nemesis come busting through a wall on that map.

You really just compared a match in a videogame to a real life affecting situation didn't you lol. That is a real junk comparison my dude lmao.
Well having the ability to leave the match early is also considered selfish so you can't have it both ways, they contradict themselves with allowing people to do it.
When BHVR fixes their game so that people don't need to DC or worry about the penalty is when I'll give them praise for having a penalty system.. The fact that anyone tries to defend them after all the BS they pull over you people is absolutely hilarious.
It's actually a perfect comparison. I used a more extreme example to highlight what you were doing, minimizing. Regardless of the gravity of the commitment, the same logic still applies.
And no, the option is there for exceptions. Sometimes something comes up and you do need to leave for a valid reason, that's why the option is there; that's also why the initial DC penalty is so miniscule. The fact that people use it improperly is what is selfish and why the penalty timer can get so high.
And the only "need," to DC would come from real life circumstances or game breaking bugs, neither of which should happen frequently enough to warrant a significant penalty, so it shouldn't be a problem. The reality is, the only people who care about the penalty coming back to a functioning game, are those that abuse it; which I'd bet, from my experience, are the majority of those who do DC.
Btw, wanting to play without getting screwed over by your teammates, has nothing to do with defending BHVR.

Can't expect people to play out a match just because they clicked a few buttons. If you don't like it then that's your problems.
It is a mechanic because BHVR has given everyone the ability to do it. If you don't want people to DC then go cry at BHVR and tell them to remove the ability for people to leave the match early.
"Because they clicked a few buttons." I guess signing off on a loan is just scribbling a few lines on some paper. Give me a break. You queue up to play a match, you are committing to finishing said match. Even BHVR have said that DCing intentionally is against their terms, which is why it's also reportable at end game.
And "go cry to BHVR?" Lol. That's literally what this thread is doing; asking them to bring their DC penalty back which btw, is also a mechanic BHVR have implemented into their game, to prevent selfish, entitled players from ruining everyone else's experience.

You're wanting them to stay in the match and play it out, that's you wanting people to play the way you want them too. You can't force people to stay in a match if they don't want to.
No, that's me wanting them to follow through on the commitment they made when they queued up: to participate in normal gameplay until the match is completed; how they do so, is their prerogative. By leaving, they are no longer playing in said match and quitting is not a gameplay mechanic, so neither meet the criteria of your comment.

PS4 Pro user here, with an upgraded SSD. The game definitely runs better for me, but it still feels worse than it did pre-RE Chapter. I'm still getting random bursts of frame drops, where it goes down to what feels like 20 fps.
Also, I had a lobby bug, where after a match, the lobby would drop to like 10 or less fps until I went to the store or rebooted.
Getting a PS5 shouldn't be the answer for a game that came out 4 years ago on current Gen. And that's being said without even getting into how hard it is to get a PS5. This game was built for current Gen and optimization was promised for current Gen, so it should work on current Gen.

I really hope they do something about Kate; she looks significantly worse. I don't really "main," anyone, but I use her the most and man, was I disappointed when I loaded her up.
I think the problem lies in her nose/mouth. She looks like a bunny or a chipmunk, or something.

But that's not what I'm talking about. My problem is the accuracy to the RE3R with his power. He doesn't feel like Nemesis. Oni is Nemesis.

Survivor sided? Have you ever tried to find a gen there? Or a totem? People hit second hook stage there because teammates can't find a way to the hook, that's how survivor sided it is.
Not commenting on which side it favors, but is your argument seriously that its not Survivor sided because Survivors can't find anything? Is your memory erased after every match and you're perpetually stuck in a state of not knowing the map?
I know the map from the RE2 Remake and I have 0 of the problems you mentioned(aside from Totems, but that's normal for a lot of maps).
Lack of map knowledge has nothing to do with how "sided," the map is.

I don't understand why they didn't came back with dc penalties today, this patch might fix the console problems and probably they won't crash anymore, I have seen so many streamers with ps4 playing with nemesis without lagging for the first time
They probably want to monitor the patch performance and make sure things are fixed/there aren't any new problems, before turning the penalties back on.

It is objectively a sub-optimal map for DBD (Yes, there is objective quality if we frame the standard as an even playing field with a game that lasts about 10 minutes)
It's twice the size of Mother's Dwelling and labyrinthine in design, with the average game I've experienced thus far being 15-20 minutes
I mean, a lot of the maps in the game aren't properly balanced. I'd argue that there are a number of maps that are just as, if not more problematic than RPD. RPD isn't special, in that regard.
In terms of it being twice the size of Mothers Dwelling, that's completely false. I know what you're referencing, but that "test," was completely flawed. First, it was said that it's "effectively," the size of MD, because you can't run in a straight line, not that it's actually the size of MD.
The first problem with that video, is that only one route was used to get from one end to the other; one side of the top floor, through one side of the bottom floor. There are other routes that can be taken, which I think could potentially be quicker. The second problem, is that the shape of the map wasn't taken into account. MD is a square, RPD is a rectangle. The horizontal axis might take a similar amount of time to travel using certain routes, but the vertical axis of RPD isn't nearly as long. Another problem, is that the 2nd floor doesn't cover the entirety of the map, I'd say maybe 2/3, possibly a bit less. Gen positioning and accessibility also comes into play, which matters in terms of actual gameplay.
The whole "twice the size of Mothers Dwelling," stuff is blatantly false and needs to stop being said. I don't think players understand what a map twice the size of Mother's Dwelling would actually be like, even if it were just stacked on top of itself.

I respect your opinion sir. Really I do but the map blows.
I respect your opinion, as well, so long as you've learned/know the map.
I personally hate Lery's, The Game and pretty much every map on Autohaven(Wretched Shop is alright). We all have our preferences.
-
You'll learn it eventually. It's not perfect and it has it's problems, but it's not nearly as bad as everyone's making it out to be.
Btw, RPD doesn't account for the entirety of RE2, not even close. The version we have in DBD isn't even the full RPD map(although it's the majority of it), and RPD is only a small portion of RE2.
-
Agreed. You also shouldn't depip if the game has DC's or you get 1/2 hooked, imo. And as someone above said, Killers shouldn't depip if they get 4 downs because the Survivors made bad choices.
The whole system needs either a rework or it needs to be replaced.

The map looks great visually. It's horrible to play DbD on.
If there was an offering that said "Will send players to any realm other than Raccoon City Police Department", I would spend every bloodpoint on each side to get those offerings and play them every game. It would take me 4-5 hours of only playing that map to really get it down. That's insane for a DbD map. Players should never, ever, be getting lost and having to think about how to get from point A to point B with the level of detail that this map requires. I wish this game were more competitively balanced, but we get maps like this.
I get what you're saying, but imo, more complicated maps open up a whole other skillset in this game: map knowledge. That allows gameplay to be more dynamic than just working on Gens and looping, you have traversal and stealth options; it's one of the reasons I love Midwich(for the most part).
In terms of balance, I think it's a bit early to call just how balanced/unbalanced this map is, especially when it seems like the majority of players are still completely lost on it. You can't have a normal game yet, to say. Maybe it needs some tweaks, but I think this is a solid addition to the game and personally, I'm all for more complicated maps, so long as they are balanced properly and done well.

It wasn't directed wholly at you, but there were some things that you said that were clearly directed at me, such as the comment I left:
"I'm not. I get lost every time, and it never fails for one poor soul to get to struggle phase on a hook because I can't friggin' find the stairs."
To which you responded:
"I mean dude, players complaining they can't find stairs or like you said, running into "dead ends." Guys, come on. I never have any of these issues, you know why? Because I know the layout. How can you blame the map for something that is clearly stemming from you and your lack of experience?"
First of all, in a thread that clearly asked "how comfortable are you with the map," you are obviously entitled to say you're comfortable with it, which is great. But why do you have to pick on the people that aren't? What do you gain from making a comment like that and saying "I know the layout, so all your comments are bogus"?
You also said in your post that you played the RE game this map is based on. Speaking personally, since I don't want to speak for other people you might have been addressing, I have not. And therefore no, I don't know the layout, and so yeah, I have a lack of knowledge. What is "bogus" about that?
Like your whole response just seemed like you wanted to complain about the people "complaining," when most of them, at least me, are not.
Your comment prompted me to reference that, but you aren't the first person I've seen complain about not being able to find stairs. My comment as a whole wasn't directed at you, but the people who have been calling this map trash from day 1 and those who continue to call it trash, while simultaneously stating that they don't know the layout.
I have no issue with people saying they are getting lost or even that they find it frustrating to try to learn the map; that's completely normal(especially when BHVR won't let us load into maps Solo, for whatever reason). But the majority of the comments and threads I've seen on RPD are just completely trashing it out of frustration; and it is bogus when the people who are trashing it, can't even identify which side of the map they're on. And that goes doubly for those who trash it with the reasoning "I can't find anything."
-
I mean, PC has very marginal advantages over console users in this game. If anything, they are a bit better with Killers like Huntress or Deathslinger(or Nurse), and probably track a bit better, but on the Survivor side, they've got nothing. I have absolutely no issue with PC users as a Console player.
In terms of stretched res and brightness, I think that stuff is uncommon enough that I don't mind, along with hacks; and PC players have to deal with that stuff anyways, so it is what it is. That stuff should just be fixed in general. Bought accounts are completely irrelevant. I don't know what that has to do with anything. Perks don't make you good at the game and most games have full tier 3 builds, anyways. Who cares?
The one thing I think Consoles need(besides proper performance), is sensitivity/control settings. The deadzone in this game is obnoxious and sensitivity could use work too. Modern Warfare and some other games offer enough options, I can turn aim-assist off and make shots. A mouse and keyboard would be better for aiming, but I can do pretty well with a controller, given the right settings. That's what this game needs, to help out console Killers and really bridge the remaining gap.
-

People griefing on this thread about people who are confused by the map are completely missing this thread's point. OP asked how comfortable we are with the map. Just because y'all are comfortable with it doesn't mean you have to demean those of us who aren't yet.
Saying you're confused by the map is one thing; saying the map is garbage, especially when you know the map so little you can't even find a hook, is another. Idk if your comment was directed at me either partially or wholly, but pointing out people's flawed complaints is not griefing.
It's like someone getting into a car, not being able to figure out how to start it, then proclaiming that the car sucks. Like dude, maybe you should figure out how to start the car before you start saying it sucks.
-
I'm pretty comfortable on it. Had my 6th(?) game on it last time and navigating the map was pretty easy. I keep saying it, but you guys seriously need to just learn the map. The biggest complaint I see(as seen in here, multiple times) is that players are getting lost. You fix that, by learning the map.
I played the RE2 Remake and I have not gotten lost or had a hard time navigating the map once. Sometimes it can be tricky to find Gens/totems/crates, but that's because I don't know where they spawn, yet; hooks and exit gates are extremely easy to get to. I don't think it's anywhere near as bad as everyone is making it out to be, which makes sense because it seems like the majority of complaints are coming from players who don't know what they're talking about.
I mean dude, players complaining they can't find stairs or like you said, running into "dead ends." Guys, come on. I never have any of these issues, you know why? Because I know the layout. How can you blame the map for something that is clearly stemming from you and your lack of experience?
And for the person above who said that navigating the map is a chore, even if you know the layout. I can easily cross the entire map and unhook someone on a different floor, while avoiding the Killer, before that player loses a hook-state; I've done it already. It's absolutely not difficult to navigate if you know the layout.
I want to add, I'm not saying this is a good map. I need more time on it and players need to learn their way around it, then I'll be able to see how it really plays and I'll be able to form my own opinion on it. All I'm saying here, is that 90% of the complaints I see are completely bogus, because they stem from a lack of map knowledge, which has nothing to do with the map quality itself.

You can't disagree with facts, it's been timed. It takes just as long to traverse from one side to the other, and it's two floors.
And yes, I would like there to be some indication of where the gens are. Outdoor maps have the giant pole, every other Idoor map has the flickering lights/signs or closed doors. As far as I can tell, RCPD is the only map in the entire game that has zero indication. You just sort of stumble on them or hear someone else working on them through the walls.
It was timed from one side of the top floor through one side of the bottom floor, the layout and travel time varies depending on the route you take. It was also timed on a single axis. Mother's Dwelling is a square, RPD is a rectangle; RPD doesn't take nearly the same amount of time to travel along the vertical axis. Gen positioning and accessibility also come into play.
That video was a flawed demonstration.

You realize that it's double the size of Red Forest, as it has two floors? You don't need 'map knowledge' to know that's far, far too large. Even if you DO have an idea of the map layout, the time it takes you to get anywhere if incredibly long. The devs went with appearance over playability.
Again, learning the map is one thing, actually making it playable is another.
Red Forest is a realm, not a map. The maps within Red Forest vary in size. People are saying it's comparable to the size of Mother's Dwelling, not in terms of actual square footage, but due to the fact you can't run in a straight line and that increases travel time. I know, I've seen the video.
The problem with that video, is that it measures a single axis and fails to account for the shape and layout of the map. Mother's Dwelling is essentially a square, RPD is more like a rectangle. Sure, it may take a similar amount of time to get from one side to the other(mind you, from one side of the top floor, to one side of the bottom floor) on the horizontal axis, but it absolutely doesn't take anywhere near that amount of time to travel the vertical axis. Gen positioning, accessibility and looping potential also matter quite a bit, in practice.
I'm not saying RPD is a great or even good map(I'd need to play it more, to say for sure); what I am saying, is that it's definitely not as abysmal as everyone says it is; there are plenty more problematic maps in this game. And yeah, it sucks for certain Killers, but there are plenty of maps that are like that, from Lery's to Rotten Fields, even Mother's Dwelling.
-
The complaints are way overblown and mostly come from a lack of map knowledge, yet people keep parroting the same stuff instead of waiting until they've learned/understand the map.
I've only been able to get 3-4 games on it, so I can't comment too much on the loops, but I can understand if some of those need to be adjusted. In terms of the size/layout, I think it's mostly fine. There are a few sections that could stand to get trimmed down(like the library upstairs, for example), but I don' think it's that much worse that a lot of the other indoor maps, it just has a more complicated layout that's going to take more time to learn.

In their defense the map barely ever shows up. Learning the layout of the biggest map without playing Re2 is be difficult. It might be hard to remember all the different parts of RPD when you see if maybe in 1 out of 20 games.
It also helps to not DC when you see it pop up, which I've seen a number of players state they do.

3 times in ptb once in live, more than enough to know this map is trash, it's not a dbd map in any way, finding a gen can take you a minute, finding a totem good luck with that, finding the right way to get to the hooked survivor can cost you a hook stage, awful map.
I can find Gens pretty quickly. Must have something to do with knowing the layout.

The other problem with it is the map is as big as 2 story Haddonfield and most of the killer won't even see because survivors don't run that way.
My change is controversial, but you cannot deny that the map is too big. I think with my proposal the map becomes about size of Midwich, but I maybe wrong.
I would bet money it's not a 2 story Haddonfield, nor do I think 1 half of the map is the size of Midwich. The map isn't really that big, it's mid-sized, you just can't run in a straight line, from one side to the other. Which leads to my point: people dont know how to navigate the map, so they think it's huge.
I'm telling you, if you cut the map in half, it'd probably be one of the smallest maps in the game; and as soon as everyone learned the layout, they'd be complaining about how small it is. There just isn't enough to each wing to sustain a whole map. I don't even think you could work enough Gens and loops into one half of the map, for it to be fair.
Bottom line, until players know the map, they shouldn't be proposing changes; and based on how many comments I see calling the map a "maze," or a "labyrinth," and how many complaints I see about how players can't find anything or get lost, I'd bet most players still don't really know the map.
To be fair, I'm not saying the map is good or bad; even knowing the map, I need more time to figure that out(although, it seemed to play well on the Survivor's side, the 4-5 times I've been on it). I just think all the hate this map is getting right now is knee-jerk and/or bandwagoning off of the frustration of not knowing it and having to learn it.
-
I dont think you realize how small the map would become, if you did that.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, I think that majority of the "problems," players have with this map, come from lack of knowing the layout, as evidenced by the person calling it a "maze." It's not a maze; I have no difficulty finding my way around it because I know the layout. It's actually extremely easy to navigate, especially with the DBD alterations to the layout.
Before anyone proposes changes, I think everyone needs to learn the map and play on it a bit.

I'm the same. I know I'm never going to use them, so I really don't care about them. I also have quite a few from last year, and they're basically the same design, so even less reason to get them.

Happened to me with my Cheryl. Literally got Kindred almost dead-last for T1-T3. It took me probably close to 10 hours of playtime to go from P3, Lvl 36 Cheryl with no Kindred, to getting Kindred Tier 3 on her; that was with the free 500k BP, Event cakes every game and Rift challenges.
This crap is straight broken.

The fact that people can't navigate it for a good amount of time is a sign it is poorly made. No other map in the game leaves people walking around mindlessly trying to get somewhere. Spending 2 minutes to get somewhere on the map because of the labyrinth it is tells you how good the map is for this game.
No, that's a sign of the maps' complexity. And most of the maps in this game have next-to-no complexity; they have one defining characteristic, and the rest of the map is just open space with copy/paste loops, some maps having slight variance.
This map is indoors, it has a layout. It's not some wide open cornfield or forest. It's going to take some time to learn, just like any building would.
And again, people spending 2 minutes trying to find Gens? That's because they don't know the map. I know the map from the RE2 Remake and had 0 issue finding Gens, even on my first game. Learn the map, play the map, then we can talk about good/bad.

Or you know, some people have lives and don't play dbd 24/7. And in the map pool this huge some people will get to play on this map once a week, so no way of learning it. If I need to do homework to play a video game, I'm playing something else.
Cool that bhvr made faithful remake of a map, it's still a terrible map for dbd gameplay, making indoor map this massive is just uhhhhh. Every indoor map is terrible, survivors can't find gens and are lost, killer can't use visual cues to see survivors, like crows flying away.
You don't need to play 24/7 to learn the map. When you get it, just make an effort to figure it out. Yeah, it might take some time and it might get frustrating, but once you know it, you know it. And on a side note, BHVR really need to add a solo custom option so players can explore maps, on either side; that's long overdue.
On your second point, if you don't know the map, how can you say it's bad? That's my point. People are dumping on the map itself out of their personal frustration, and then just saying "Screw it, map sucks. Im DCing." Learn the map, the we can talk about good/bad. Refusing to learn the map and DCing when it comes up is childish.

It's not impossible, no, but it is without question the most confusing map they've ever released because of its immense size and density, and in order to learn it you also have to play on it and that's also not fun either, especially for killers. It's like telling people to do 2 chores in a game they play to have fun.
I can understand that; that's completely reasonable and I agree, it's probably the most complex map they've released to-date.
The point I'm trying to make, is that people are calling this a bad map, when they've barely played it and don't know it. Yes, it might be frustrating to learn, specifically in a live game, but that doesn't make it bad. We can talk about bad/good once players understand the map and have some experience on it.
DCing and refusing to even try to learn the map is lame. What's even more lame, is then coming on to the forums and asking for changes to a map that you don't even know.

Except that they have to also play the game while learning it. It is the first time ever people don't know how to navigate a map. All the other indoor maps we've got are bettee by a mile: if I want to move to that gen, I will just follow the coridors to it.
On RPD, however, you will face dead ends every time you want to go somewhere. I really don't get why it is so hard to see why everyone hates it.
Yeah, I get that can be frustrating and idk why the Devs haven't allowed solo customs for map exploration(that's been requested for a long time), but this isn't the first game to have this issue.
At the end of the day, while it might be frustrating to learn, that doesn't mean the map is terrible; and throwing your hands up and saying "Im not going to play this," instead of just learning the map, is a bad way to handle this. The reality is, once people get enough time on it, they'll learn it naturally. Once people know the map, then we can have a discussion about whether it's good or bad. But I'm not going to listen to someone who played it twice say it sucks, just because "I couldn't find anything."
Just to clarify a bit, I'm not claiming this map is good. It played well the 3 times I played on it, but that's nowhere near enough to make a solid judgement, especially since most people don't know where they're going. My issue is that everyone is dumping on the map, imo, just based on their frustration from not understanding it and their solution is "I'll just DC," instead of bothering to learn it.

Telling people to play a whole other (unrelated) game to learn a map is really a terrible argument
Or, y'know...you could just learn the map on DBD, because it's in the game.
I swear, man. Everyone's on here complaining that they're getting lost on RPD and that it's a labyrinth. You know what a solution for that is? Learning the map, like players do in any other game that requires map knowledge.
I don't get lost and I don't find it remotely confusing because I played RE2. Now you guys have the opportunity to learn the map, just like I did, except in DBD. Why are people acting like this map is impossible to learn? It's not.

You should always balance around the highest level of play, that ensures that the game is truly balanced or as close to it, as possible. When you balance around anything else, the game falls apart. It becomes "did I lose because I played poorly, or did I lose because I've exceeded the balance threshold and there was nothing I could do?" Competition should be as fair as possible and the answer to losing should always come down to either "I played poorly," or "they played better than me."
Why anyone would want a game that's fundamentally broken and imbalanced, is beyond me, unless they just want to be rewarded for mediocrity and feel good without putting the work in. In that case, I still don't know how you can feel good about yourself, the game is basically holding your hand. I don't feel good when I bowl a strike if my ball bounced off the gutter bumpers to get it.

It is extremely large with unfun gameplay for most survivors and killers. Survivors struggle to find gens. It basically encourages killers to camp hooks and one side of the map. Why am I going to go try to defend a gen that Pop will be expired by the time I reach it? Imagine playing Trickster on this map...
Survivors struggle to find Gens because they have barely played it. This isn't a giant, open cornfield or forest, it has a layout, and that takes time to learn.
I have no issue finding Gens or navigating the map, because I played the RE2 Remake. Idk why players expect to understand the map right off the bat, especially if they've never(or very seldom) been on it before.

I'm just here for the Bloodpoints.

Finally got it last match. As someone who played the RE2 Remake, I love it. It's laid out pretty much how I remember it, from the game.
Having said that, we'll see how it plays once everyone gets used to it.
Btw(to everyone complaining), it's not a maze, you just don't know the layout. I can find my way around that map fine, because I know the layout. Chill out and give it time. I can't believe people are complaining that they can't immediately know the layout of a map.
