Nurse nerf incoming boys!

When asked what Killer they will rework next mathieu vehemently answered nurse. Now Stephan tried to calm everyone by saying „We‘ll rework mainly her addons“. Keyword here being „mainly“. My guess is they will add a cooldown to her power. Probably not unlike spirits who is, mind you, the first and only good killer that has a cooldown.

but what do you think they‘ll do? Maybe just add a stun fx?

Edit: So in conclusion I was right as confirmed by peanits. Nurse power will recieve some „slight“ adjustments. Now whether that means a base range decrease or a charge time decrease, I think its fairly obvious that her base power will recieve a nerf.

Tldr: After 3 years of killers having counterplay to rank 1 swf groups the defs finally decided to change that.

  • This is taking liberties.

Of course someone, somewhere is. There just doesn't seem to be much discussion happening in plain sight where the basis for someone's argument is that survivors never get nerfed.

I'd say that survivors never get nerfed until the intended consequences of it have become meaningless due to other changes. Killer buffs work the same way.

  • This the theory crafting argument thread?

I just wish the addons don't have negative effects on them... I hate addons that have a negative effect.

They are a minority of biased Killer mains and do not justify fcc's argumentation in that particular case.

Biased Killer mains are just as bad for the game as biased Survivor mains, we can all agree on that. However, the latter outnumber the former vastly, by much more than the expected 4:1 ratio, hence why I am mostly batting for Team Killer these days.

And still: those nerfs have been minor to moderate, with the exception of MoM, but then again, MoM could not exist in its original form without risking the game's longterm health, it should never have made it into the game in the first place after the damage old DS had done already.

I'm sorry, but the cold harsh truth is that if Survivors get nerfed, they rarely get gutted. The same can't be said for Killers.

On the forums some people are trolls who pose as a biased X main so the whole ratio thing isn’t perfectly correct. Legion and MoM both needed nerfs but both got taken too far, Nurse definitely needed some form of a nerf, mainly to her add ons although I think her currently useless add ons might actually be useful with the add on rework.

    Like when they nerfed healing?

    and nerfed MOM?

    And nerfed DS?

    and nerfed exhaustion?

    and nerfed window vaulting?

    and nerfed BNPs?

    and nerfed insta flashlights?

@KaoMinerva your comments are all the same.

This past calendar year survivors received nerfs to Exhaustion perks, self care, DS, Mettle of man and Brand new parts.

Many killers received buffs Hag, Trapper, Wraith and Freddy.

Noed and Pop Goes the weasel also all became stronger and more viable with adjustments to the numbers.

You could at least show some impartiality.

    GGEZ

Killers have had nerfs since the inception of the game. EVERY SINGLE KILLER HAS BEEN NERFED. That's right, every single one and every single killer specific perk at some point too.

  • I have one time see a thread with all the killer nerfs listed in the steam forums. That thread should be also exist in the dbd forums^^.

    Was a pretty long thread...

  • @Talmeer That was a pointless thread. Only "mains" that thought about themselves and think they are being ######### on by the Devs gave a crap.

  • I really hope they don't nerf her base kit, the addons can be burnt for all I care.

But getting the muscle memory for her basic kit took me some time, between charging and distance. Last thing anyone needs is to have to relearn the basics of a killer they already spent months learning.

  • @TheBean said:

The purpose of that thread was to replicate one by survivors(now deleted), to justifiably mock them.

It intentionally included bug-fixes, indirect nerfs and buffs to survivors as 'killer nerfs', because that is the bar that was set specifically by the survivor list-maker.

  • @ArecBalrin yeah and they were both garbage threads.

Well I did give you the patch number, it wouldn't have taken long to see for yourself. The forum software currently freaks out when I try including a link.

    The relevant changes were:

    1. Adjusted pallet overlap with a slasher (on drop down) to teleport the slasher away from survivor instead of the same side
    2. Adjusted pallet stun to apply at the beginning of the pallet drop instead of the end

This also included two unlisted changes, what was dubbed 'the pallet-vacuum' has now been removed due to survivors no longer having the animation for transitioning them to the other side of the pallet as they drop it, but the increased stun-range of the pallet remains. Prior to this patch, pallet did not stun from round corners, but afterwards the range was clearly equivalent to the range of killers basic melee.

That made sense because the whole reason these changes to pallets happened is because survivors were complaining about killers lunging through pallets and hitting them before the pallet had finished dropping. It was also completely unfair given the context of why killers had developed this strategy.

this is no uber buff imo, pallets back then were more like a free hit most times

No, they were fair. Who ever had the better timing won these stand-offs.

These stand-offs only happened in the first place because survivors stopped using the pallets for what they were meant for and started using them to farm points with and grief the killer. They were not meant to wait at a pallet for the killer to close the distance before attempting to drop it and land a stun; pallets were meant to be when the killer had already closed the distance in the chase, the pallet would force the killer to break it or go around, using up time which the survivor then had to lose the killer.

Killers complained about this abuse of the pallets, which the devs ignored and survivors responded with 'git gud' and 'just adapt'. Killers did adapt: we would bait a pallet drop to miss with the hokey-cokey. Survivors would often disconnect for missing repeatedly and they wanted that to stop. Then killers started lunging through pallets and survivors carpet-bombed the Steam forum with salt.

So killers had adapted, which is what survivors told them to do. It's a classic dialectic with a pendulum swinging one way and then back to the other. Survivors didn't adapt though, even though they had the clear option at the time of going back to using pallets as before. They instead would make sure that not an hour went by without a complaint thread about killers hitting them through pallets being made.

That led to pallets being made essentially foolproof in patch 1.1.1 on August 30th 2016. Funny how the devs never do killers favours like this.

trust me they were not fair in any way the amount of times i got killed by those pallets was incredible even when dropped it early, pallets now are fairer , you can still get hit trough it but you cant mindlesly swing at them and get a hit

The many, many posts, videos, and discussions about some of her add-ons being too much, as well as the statistics we've collected over the last three years. We're not going in flailing around the nerf hammer hoping for the best, we're looking into the stuff that is almost unanimously agreed upon.

What about the many, many posts and points countering the arguments that have only recently become the "many many posts" since MoM and Legion got hit.

These posts were t nearly as prevalent even a month ago compared to now.

There are "many many posts" about NOED, DC punishments, harsher camping punishments, bug abuse NOT being punished, etc etc with no word as to anything being done, changed, or considered.

So the "many many posts" as to why you're looking at changing one of the 3/4 only viable top end killers, is extremely worrisome.

And I play more survivor than killer.

They weren't fair, because of the number of times you lost the stand-off?

Survivors always had options which they refused to try. Killers simply kept having options they were trying taken away, because survivors are allergic to fairness.

you dont get it do you , the only way to not get hit trough them was to drop it early af, if you do that the pallet is completely useless and gives you no benefit in a chase , you gain no points , no distance , waste it , and die. that and hitboxes being anything but well done made those pallets kill more survivors than any killer ever had

Yes, the only way to gaurantee you would not get hit through them was to drop them early: going back to how they were used before survivors decided to use them for grief/farm. Guess what? Pallets worked for their intended purpose just fine before survivors started abusing them. Surviors could have adapted, they didn't want to though and instead went crying to the devs. If killers did the same, we'd just get ignored.

The devs must start doing the same for survivors.

  • Before patching, they should remember that there are also console users in this game.

Nurse users of the ps4 and xbox are having a lot of trouble with the pad's slow turning speed and the absence of auto-aim.

I'm worried. Because they tend to consider only PC users when patch.

I've been saying over a year that the sensitivity limit of the console killer should be raised, but they still haven't fixed it.

Quick question, but is Pig/Pigs addons on the rework list by any small chance? She's not my main though I am having tons of fun with her. Her addons definitely need to be relooked at among a number of things.

We pushed the game in the right direction by showing how broken Nurse is rn. I really hope Doc and then Leatherface will get a nice buff while Nurse also get a nerf to her base kit not only addons. Maybe like spirit more movement speed for the nurse 110? and a cooldown on her blinks (but not so long as the spirit cooldown) to make her better to play for not so good players (and console players).

This is so disgustingly obviously made by a salty Survivor main.

If you were an actual Nurse main, you'd never suggest making her 110 % and giving her a cool-down on the blink. What you're doing there is buffing the Nurse actually, as bad Nurses will then be able to just float after Survivor they can't hit with the Blink.

Ask Scott if he thinks hatchets should be nerfed to only go half the distance, travel half the speed so survivors can dodge them easier. Ask him about the addons that give him more hatchets and should they be nerfed too? The purple addon gives him 2 more hatchets so he can miss two more times.

If you're a bad killer and you tunnel then sure, it seems like a buff. If you're a normal killer, it was nerfed.

DS used to work without any requirements, it now has requirements, you have to be absolutely clueless to think it is somehow buffed, bruh.

You have to be absolutely clueless to think it was nerfed because even if it wasnt buffed it definitely wasnt nerfed, 60 seconds is way to long for ds to be active I think it should be a max of 40 and have like stun duration or something different, if you are good enough to run a killer for 60 seconds after getting unhooked and the killer going after you instantly then you dont need ds you just need a smart team. Ds is not a fair perk and needs fixed, I will use it just to realize how long I can actually go 2ith it actives the killer can straight up chase someone, down them then come to me and down me in the time frame of ds and I can use it.

"I love something overpowered. Because I love it, it shouldn't be changed." Great rationale.

And I like that you picked one of the most balanced killers in the game to compare nurse to. If not for the increasing number of bad maps, huntress probably would be the most balanced. No one thinks huntress should be nerfed because she has counterplay. Same can't really be said for nurse.

Looping for long periods of time requires skill. And if you are getting looped for minutes at a time you are just getting outplayed, plain and simple.

And I see way more huntress than nurse at red ranks. A few billies, and plenty of spirit; but those take way more skill than nurse to 4k with.

Running in circles requires little to no skill if you think it does you are mentally deluded. All you do is loop around a pallet drop it when you have to run to another one rinse and repeat wow such amazing skill

Then how can people be varying degrees of good/effective at looping? Sure the actual action of running around a pallet is pretty mindless, but knowing how to run different tiles correctly, knowing mindgames, jukes, their counters and so on is something that only comes with experience from both the killer and survivor involved. It's not mechanical skill, but that's not the only type of skill.

If it truly took no skill at all then only "knows how to loop" and "doesn't know how to loop" would exist.

They have every right to assume the worst with the devs' history of "slight changes" sometimes going as far as to gut stuff.

  • Well, nerf her broken addons for sure. Not touching Nurse base kit is fine. And if they do in fact, nerf both.

I'll just pick up Spirit, and continue to make people upset. Billy makes em mad enough, Gen Grabber Spirit here I come!

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaa Nurse is going to get gutted like Ghostface!

Just kidding, Ghostface and Nurse will be fine, but I do prefer if it's just her add-ons that they touch.

  • Nerf her base power so that she can only blink in the open. She can't blink through walls or through floors. Maybe even remove blink through obstacles.

It'd still be a strong power given Doctor, Leatherface, and Clown exist.

    "Slight changes"

Another of those "awesome good survivormade" ideas we killers unjustly lobby against.

Its good that the devs dont listen to this caliber of survivors... Most of the times.

That's why I think that Killer buffs should be focused around increasing the skill cap.

Giving Killer's ways to use precision and skill to improve their odds is better than just making them straight up stronger overall.

Asking for more killer buffs? Lmao, how many patches straight have survivors been nerfed? You make me sick.
