  • Do you mean while in the queue/in a lobby?

I presume it's because killers cannot double up, so the queue has to lock in who you picked to avoid having two Nemmies in the same game, etc. Would be nice if it opened the option again after you get in a lobby now that the system knows the killer you are matched with.

A shame it doesn't do the same thing for the killer class you pick, however. Game seems more than happy to boot you off what you wanted to play unfairly because it decided to match you with someone else that chose the same thing. I swear this is happening in half my games.

My duo and i played all night on steam and hadn't crashed even once. Which platform are you guys using? Or is it a 1v4 thing (we were on 2v8 the whole time)

I had a couple of crashes. PC, 2v8, drivers all up to date, verified integrity of game files, all that stuff.

Weirdly, not had one since the first night of the update so not been able ot reproduce.

There are definitely a litany of new bugs in the game though, from cosmetic to ones that impact gameplay significantly. What's especially concerning is some of these bugs should have been caught with the most rudimentary of bugtesting, such as escape music no longer playing or the gates being delayed. I really hope a change in testing philosophy, at least around the 10-year event and its content.

  • I'd actually like to hear where you are coming from. Can you provide some rationale behind the perks needing these changes and why you've chosen to nerf them in these specific ways?

I will point out, some of these nerfs are pretty extreme. Dead Hard, for example, getting completely slaughtered here, especially when it has actual counterplay and mindgame to it compared to the other exhaustion perks.

    It depends on the context.

I recently played a SWF with a friend who’s a Mikaela main. The killer refused to even injure her the entire match as the killer had a Mikeala charm on the hook. She played quite sweaty with the other 3 of us and even tunnelled a Dwight out early game. My friend thought it was lame as she just wanted to play normally.

I once had a game against a Ghostface who had a pride charm on his hook. When he saw mine he was teabagging/nodding. He played normally, but gave me the hatch at the end.

The first example is favortism to the detriment of teammates, the second is just a wholesome moment between two players. When I play killer, I never deliberately avoid a survivor unless I know they’re insanely good loopers. When I do 4k, I always give last survivor hatch unless they’ve been toxic. That’s just a rule of thumb for me. The other exception may be if MMR screws someone over and I get a baby survivor in my lobby. In that context, I will play nice as it’s not fair that MMR puts these people in matches which they’ve lost before they’ve even loaded in.

So I guess (long answer short) a little favouritism/wholesome interactions are okay. Outright keeping one survivor alive just to tunnel/kill the rest out isn’t very sportsmanlike. I also hate it when a game turns friendly after you’ve died… you die with like 20k BP’s whilst your teammates get to farm. Not cool.

As a Mikaela main that couldn't loop a Nurse with no blinks, I'll take the Mikaela loving killer please.

  • 2004's Van Helsing.

That film is such a guilty pleasure of mine, even though it's wicked dated. So many options for killer (maybe excluding the main antognist as we already have Dracula from another property), with Van Helsing and Anna Valerious as survivors.

If I had to pick one character to be killer, though, it'd be Mr Hyde from the opening of the film. So much personality, very hammy, yet manages to be fairly intimidating through brute strength and clear intelligence lacking any moral guidance.

Plus, so many sick cosmetics could come from this.

  • I tend to ignore survivors obviously trying to pull chase by being as obnoxious as possible unless I have nowhere else to go, especially if I suspect a SWF and they may be the designated looper with a build for it. Why not just stride past them and chew on the Ada that is likely playing pure genspeed?

If I'm crushing too hard at 5 gens I'll update my objective to double hook all survivors before going for kills, just as a bit of a challenge.

I am a serial hatch giver though. I don't care about getting the 4k at all. 3k is a win and that's enough. Often means that if any survivor has done something that catches my attention, they're a likely hatch candidate. Performing some sick mind game or crazy risky save that worked, being cute and/or silly, or being the victim of a sandbag are great ways to guarantee I'll leave you alone once you reach death hook.

I had no idea they decreased the chance to 20%! I've noticed map offerings weren't working, but I thought it was a bug. What is the point in having them at 20%? They're basically completely useless now.

I've been saying for awhile now that map offerings need to be inversed - as in they should prevent you from going to a specific realm. That would actually give you a reason to collect them, because you could just burn a Nostromo or Toba offering every game 😂

An avoid offering would actually be so nice.

A Swampless life would be a step towards Nirvana.

  • I've noticed some very strange behaviour from the zombies. Multiple instances of them getting stuck and them seemingly being everywhere on the map all at once. Might have just been unlucky but I don't think I've played a 2v8 game with a Nemesis in it without every gen receiving zombie pressure.

Pure speculation but that's what I've been seeing so take it with a grain of salt

I can also hop on this and say I've seen Nemesis randomly killing a zombie for no reason. One had me in a loop with a zombie, the zombie was clearly going to force me to take a hit after a short while, yet the Nemesis (who was already T3) turned 90 degrees away from me and hit the zombie with his whip instead.

  • I guess she needs a nerf.

  • Yep. I didn't get a chance last night as I said in my post but tonight I'll be looking for an opportunity to reproduce this and get it shared with BHVR.

Just had my first one of the update, glad it at least kept my killer que a priority.

game so bugged this update so many minor things.

This did not happen for me and my friend :( I crashed and both of us lost our position in the queue. 2 killers games in 2 hours because of this.

  • I agree in so much as it would be nice for me to cross off my last few Iri shard characters I need before finally saving for cosmetics, however there are two stakes BHVR have in keeping progression slow that makes me think this is very unlikely.

    1. By making it take a long time, you incentivise people to buy with Auric (real money), supplementing the cashflow neatly.
    2. It gives players something to grind towards, giving another reason for people to come back to the game regularly.

We could argue these days that there are enough cosmetics and characters in the game that such a grind is now over the top, but I would be floored to see a major change.

Vecna is hardly a good example of this. The clocks feel like a lose-lose because even if the entire team jumps on clocks the moment Worldbreaker starts, he has a guaranteed timer you cannot do anything with and can just reactivate it with ease.

You do them, you waste time, since he is in Worldbreaker for most of the time anyway.

You don't do them, endless Worldbreaker.

This has actually piqued my curiosity. Obviously it's worth doing purely from a numbers standpoint, especially if you're able to delay the next WB after he's finished by juking effectively, but I get what you mean. The time that gets locked in still feels like a decently long time anyway.

What would be a better system for this, without going into simply reworking the entire character?

I don't know why you're assuming "no counter play" from the word "abusable".

Abusable just means that something can be abused, and in gaming terminology means used in unintended ways, often to gain an advantage.

Like, for instance, how you're supposed to be able to unhook despite being chased by ghosts.
But from my experience trying to hook camp with the ghosts, it was very effective because most of the times the ghosts would start the chase while being between the hook and the other survivor, so unless the survivor ran away from the hook, the ghost would hit them.

I don't think behavior intends us to effectively hook camp with the ghosts, hence it's one example of what I mean by "abusable".

Worst of all is if the survivor gets the basement - I just placed a ghost patrolling up and down the stairs.
And it's infinite, because the ghosts have separate cooldowns - another example of "abusable". You can abuse the fact that there's no down-time of the ghosts, which I found especially effective when basement camping.

But of course, doing all this means that the survivors could just be doing gens elsewhere. But most of the times people are altruistic and try to prevent the camping, but there wasn't a single match where they didn't go into the basement without getting injured by a ghost, and then I could just go down and finish the job.
Hopefully this clarifies what I mean by his abilities being "abusable"

That's fair, but in all honesty I wouldn't consider these situations abusable. Slotting a summon between a survivor going for the unhook and the hook itself is not going to be consistent if you are applying pressure elsewhere, so essentially you are proxy camping by doing that. The survivor then only needs to loop once and return to the hook, starting the animation and killing the chase. Inexperienced survivors will get trashed by this, experienced ones will not. Perhaps this is not intended in the sense that BHVR sat down at a round table and discussed zoning hook with a well-placed summon, but the situation you described absolutely is the power working as intended.

Also, if there's really no way to start the unhook, you can just eat the injury. The knight will not be able to capitalise on that fully without being nearby, which would be the same restriction as any killer. I think there are cases where this is applying pressure to a good effect, but I still don't think it's abuse in the way you describe or even I interpret.

Same with the basement example. Most killers in the game can proxy basement extremely effectively. Getting hooked in basement is a punishment and it's meant to be strong. Capitalising on damage from ghost NPCs requires the Knight to be close by anyway, so unless people are trying to facetank a ghost while injured, the impact is is not dissimilar to most other killers with an ability sticking close by. You can also just coordinate, have someone take the summon chase away from basement, then have someone else take the unhook. Rare in soloQ and with inexperienced survivors, sure, but there are definitely plays that can be made in this situation.

You are describing strong gamestates for the Knight, I'm not going to deny that, and I'm glad you've been crushing with him even if you don't like his design, but if we're talking in terms of power, the Knight is fine. The fun factor could use some work, but subjectively finding a particular killer unfun is not reason to remove them from the game.

EDIT: Also you can just time going down the stairs to when a Knight is summoning, even if you get seen and put into an NPC chase, by the time their initial animations are done you should be able to start the unhook and despawn them. Survivors getting zoned by this tactic are simply not familiar with the Knight. This is a problem with how DbD fails to convey mechanics, not the mechanics themselves.

    I haven't said he's overpowered.

I'm calling him poorly designed, stupid, and abusable (after playing as him).
But mainly, no fun for survivors to go against.

And I don't think it's due to a lack of understanding - even when understanding how he works, it's just not fun to be chased by NPC ghosts.

Maybe I'm wrong, but abusable implies that there are things you can do with Knight that ensure no counterplay, that don't come as a result of a mistake on your opponent's part. Perhaps I shouldn't call that overpowered, but in my mind these things are in line. I think, other than somewhat rare map situations, it's largely untrue that he's abusable.

He can't proxy hooks with his guards as you just unhook in their face.

He can't pincer you unless you put yourself in a position to be pincered, and even then you've got a decent shot of just running out of the loop as soon as he takes a knee.

The thing I would agree with is he's not particularly stimulating to go against, even when you know what to do.

  • This sounds like a crash. I am getting booted out of the game on PC at the exact same point, pressing continue after a match is over/I have died. I get an error message though which I will be reporting if I can reproduce the crash again tonight.

  • @ShanoaLegendaryPlz said:

Some other person on xbox was having troubles getting fully kicked out of the game everytime they click the continue button. (In the ask the community section). Other than that i havent had it happen to me (yet) ive played about 4 rounds only though since the patch.

The crash was happening upon clicking continue, booted out of the game to an error report, so it sounds similar, with the obvious difference of it being on PC and me getting the error report.

I'll see if I can repeat the issue tonight and grab a screenshot to go with it.

I read that they disabled "tapping" vaults. Like there was a patch that made it so you couldn't run up to windows to make the ghosts run up to them. Did they change it back to work again?

I understand that there are theoretical counters to him, but I still stand by my claim that his abilities are extremely abusable.

I am just playing knight for the first time. 3 matches so far, have made the survivors give up every match so far.
My point here being that if I can do this as a brand new Knight player, clearly something is wrong here.

(screenshot shows the bots escaping because I also abandoned after I was the only player left)

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/LXPUXSHZFLM9/image.png

Edit:I should also point out that the players didn't use the abandon feature to leave - they chose to take a matchmaking penalty in order to leave just to get out of there, both of them healthy with 1 generator left.

Knight is not overpowered, but he's a difficult mix of rare so survivors have limited scope to practise against/understand him and largely regarded as unfun. Taking a chase from an NPC is not fun, as there's no mindgame nor anything unpredictable to react to. Getting caught out with a pincer definitely feels cheap if you're not experienced enough to understand what led you to getting caught out like that. I notice a lot of abandons against him too, at a higher rate than I see Blight DCs (pre-nerf) and I could hardly place him in the same league in terms of power.

Sadly this is a self-fulfilling prophecy. People abandon vs Knight because he's not all that fun, meaning they don't learn how to cope with him, meaning they're only going to continue finding him unfun and abandoning.

  • Knight is overwhelming for inexperienced survivors, but he's not effective in camp or chase against people that understand somehwat how he works. If you think about where you are running to and react to the Knight's animations, you can avoid being pincered by leaving the loop or just not getting cornered in the first place. And his NPCs will time out too quickly to apply pressure on a 2nd loop after following you there, if the Knight is following you too.

You can unhook safely, guard or not, and if you turn a couple of corners, you can W-key out of a chase.

The Knight excels at applying pressure to people that don't understand how he works.

He's still decent against good players, but he's nowhere near braindead and certainly not OP.

At that point, what's the complaint?

This just fills the need for the 5% that don't have some kind of indicator, then.

This is something I've noticed. After the adjustment from game start to first chase/injury, there's literally no downside to this. The only complaints seem to be "Well I don't need this so what's the point?" which is, with respect, kind of elitist.

If it no longer hurts the killer and can help the odd player here or there that would have been fine if someone in VC told them who the killer was, what's the problem?

  • @angel_pellegrino said:

As someone who mainly plays survivor, I feel like what I do hasn't changed a lot in the past couple of years. But when I started trying to play killer again after a couple years of not playing it, that role has changed an awful lot. For the worse. I mean, it's bad. Really bad. Everything from there geing five million extra pallets on the map to gens flying by if I take two extra seconds to chase somebody at the start of the match. Unless I'm running corrupt or an S tier killer every game, I don't have any idea how to exert enough map pressure to compensate for five million pallets, gen times or the current meta. I feel like many killer games are either being bullied by bagging survivors or the game crashing when it looks like I'm going to win.

On top of all that, I've noticed a distinct increase in survivor BM and stuff that looks suspiciously like lag switching/cheating. For instance, I can play survivor all day long and the game runs smoothly. Seldom crashing. But whenever I play killer the game uddenly becomes jittery and buggy as hell, especially during those games where it looks like I'm going to win, and then as I go to hook a survivor I suddenly can't and the whole game crashes. (Could be from anything, but it happening only on killer is either survivors cheating or an unfortunate killer sided server bug that adds to the stinkiness of the killer experience for me)

At this rate, I feel like the devs are gonna have to start tossing out some iri shards for playing a certain number of killer matches. Or start "sneaking in" some anonymous bot killers. Because, seriously, this role feels super miserable to play right now.

Decouple yourself with the requirement to win. Sometimes you're having a bad game, sometimes the survivors are having a good game. Not much you can do.

A lot of BM is just the survivors being excited that they got a good play and showboating a bit. Sometimes it's toxic but a lot of the time it's just cheeky. They may also be trying to bait chase because there's a more vulnerable teammate they want to protect.

I'm not going to comment on the lag or suspected cheats because without evidence of this it's hard to form a conclusion. I was certain a killer I was against was somehow lagging me out as it kept happening at the worst times, but it turns out my VPN was still on.

Can you confirm which killers you're playing that struggle so much with new pallet density?

  • It's not even the curse words for me, it's the fact other nono words like "killer" get censored. I dunno if BHVR is worried about the TikTok algorithm or something, but it's really over the top.

    @ShanoaLegendaryPlz said:

Chat isnt the only thing oddly censored. We havent had actual underwear under skirts since the game's first skirt cosmetic lol just painted on black stuff. Yet ace gets a speedo. Meanwhile several licenses in the game come from movies with full nudity, so the players themselves have alredy seen adult stuff but sex appeal in the game is very rare. Along with gore always being toned down when most of the licenses are quite gory.

I'm gonna say that's more them just doing the simplest thing to keep a character in a skirt decent, and not prudishness.

The gore thing is a bit odd, but then we have Mori's like Krasue's and I think it's more a resources thing. Mutilating character models is a lot more work than having them spray particle effects.

Springtrap having the axe. I've said this plenty, but I just genuinely cannot get over his gameplay revolving entirely around something that is just patently not connected to FNAF beyond fandom callbacks. If they wanted to, they could've given him separate M1 animations and allowed players to choose between the axe and knife, lending a unique aspect to his inclusion and still getting to base his power entirely on FNaF.

Even accepting that it is the primary aspect of his his power, why is there no addon that disables it and buffs the secondary aspect of his kit? Such an easy W.

I get it. It felt a little out of left field for someone familiar with Springtrap and the idea behind him but not with fandom content.

But it feels sooo good to use, I'm tainted by it.

Survivor wise, Dwight. One of my first games end game was me and a Dwight. He left me on my FIRST hook and locker camped til I died. Spectate the end, he hunted the hatch. Thankfully Springtrap followed him after downing him, let him get so close to it, then shut it in his face and mori'd him. Spineless coward. (He also teabagged me earlier in game when I was down and took forever before actually healing me) so I just have a strong bitterness for that character.

Killer- Huntress. I keep getting matches where she stalls gameplay and downs almost everyone, won't actually hook anyone, then makes you go heal your teammates. Its gross, honestly. Like hate Huntress matches now because I never know if its a genuine match or someone just physcologically tormenting us and trying to hold the game in a state of limbo as long as possible.

I just can't hate a Dwight, no matter how horrible they are. I think his lore was a strategic move to make people like me more sympathetic to baby Dwights. Meg on the other hand…

I don't mind Huntress because usually I can respect the downs they get. I also love hugging tiny loops against her because she's slow. I've never actually had a BM Huntress. I think the highest BM likelihood per match I've had has been Bubba, but it's Bubba so that's expected.

spirits waah is definitely up there with Mikeys dolphin calls for unintentionally funny sound effects in the game

It is! But I'm conflicted, because part of me really likes her story and design, and taking it 100% seriously, I legitimately think she has some great horror potential going, but rather shallowly I lose that idea when she attacks.

I do like her stun noise though, especially if I pallet her out of phase.

  • The design is for T3 to be overpowered, as its a temporary state with a global "get the hell outta dodge" sound cue. I'm fine with that.

The problem is, most non-mirror Myers' I go against are pretty much permanently in T3, and when they are not, it is 99'd ready to proc in the next chase. The counterplay becomes 'Avoid the killer at all costs' which is essentially admitting that once he's found you, you're done.

Mirror Myers is legitimately fun to go against though. One of the very limited horror experiences in the game.

  • Avoid lists just results in people avoiding anyone and everyone for the most minor of slights. While it would be nice to auto-dodge another x-phobic (fill in x with any minority you want), what would be better is this kind of behaviour seeing consequences.

I always have wondered why people do not like the stunlock animation with Ghoul but seems to not have a problem with Wesker?

Ghoul locks your movement but at least keeps you in place, so you can keep your original path. Meanwhile Wesker not only locks your movement but also moves you against your will, but people never did seem to have a problem with it at all.

Keep in mind im talking just about the stunlock animation, not about the free hit that comes with hit. Discussions about the free hit are different.

When Wesker gets his stunlock, not only is it usually a result of a correct play by the Wesker, it's better quality, you can actually read what is happening and isn't constant. If you're healthy against a Ghoul you can guarantee you're going to have to eat a stunlock. Hell, if you're injured it still happens, and the animation is so poorly implemented and cheap looking that you quite often can't infer what happened leading up to it.

It being free is a huge part of that.

On a personal note, the screeching and profoundly unintimidating giggling in my ear does not help.

Nice to see some people on here who actually like Kaneki because Tokyo Ghoul is awesome. Definitely get on the manga cause it's one of the best ones out there and my all time favorites.

I'll also add that I specifically spirit because of here loud ass breathing and noises, like I get you got shredded into pieces but can you not moan so aggressively at me???

I'm neutral because I'm yet to read the manga, but it's like 2nd on my list of media to consume, I just procrastinate a lot.

I genuinely like the contrast between her usual haunting moans and her sudden, shrill attack/stun noises. It feels like they wanted her to be pitiable, which she is by her story, but also show that she's absolutely consumed by rage that comes out in these moments.

The only thing that bothers me about Spirit is her attacking noise. It feels kinda of out of genre, like a fighting game attack. It feels one step below a literal "Hi-yah!" and I find that a bit hard to fully take seriously. I think it'd be better if it was more feral sounding to really sell how much rage drives her.

My favorite (P100 Pig here) is the time when the last two survivors were an Ash with an active bear trap on his head and a Jill that had zero hooks and was a looping God. The generators were done, the doors were open and what's she doing? Circles in the exit gate. So, I downed her and hooked her… She did not try to escape (this was back when you could always attempt to 4%) and just waiting out the timer… Ash's trap exploded and then she immediately was sacrificed. In end game chat she was GOING OFF on me about how the only reason I got a 4K was because she was a team player and wouldn't leave the Ash behind… I tried to explain that if she'd just left, he might have been able to get hatch but she wasn't hearing it. She said I must be an only child because I don't know what it means to be a team player.

This one is baffling. Like, okay, maybe you only got that kill because she wanted to help her teammate, but that was her choice to do so. It's not like you hooked her then went straight to post-game chat to tell her she was bad. You just played the video game as intended.

Yes they are "weighted" that is the word you should be using. Yeah I am not saying there is not weighted maps but they have no chance of repeating until you have already played in four other maps in between at least. I can also say of the matches there that I have listed I have kept track on how often maps repeat and I have not even got that four at least repeat at all recently. I think the best same map I have had in my last 30 matches was like nine maps in between and did not bother even to mention that in the last update I did to the list.

Would duoing with someone impact this no repeats rule? I swear up and down I've had Nostromo twice, less than 3-games apart.

Ironically my stereotype for a Clown player is someone who runs on total autopilot. Completely unresponsive to all shenanigans. Ws to the survivor, bottles the resource, gets the hit, haste+W, gets the down, and finally hook. Repeat until unhook notification goes off, then hold W back to hook and repeat.

Not all Clowns ik. I play him sometimes and don't do that, but even when they've already won, they won't even give me a funny head nod. Just walk into me, hit me, mori me. My man is bad at his job, clowns are supposed to be funny.

What they choose to get mad about is honestly irrelevant.

  • Doubling up is less numerically efficient but there are times when it's worth doing. If you're passing a 80% complete gen and killer is chasing someone injured, might be worth pushing through it before PR procs or the killer comes to apply pressure.

Also definitely worth doubling/tripling up on a gen that is easy to defend early on, especially if it's part of a three gen set up.

I hate springtrap so much. not because of his mechanics or anything, I just reeaallly dislike fnaf. I always dreaded the day it would get added to dbd. I also really dislike chucky too, little anklebiting goblin that he is.

This is exactly what this thread is about. I love Springtrap despite being fully aware that FNAF is dumb. It's reached that level of irony and tongue-in-cheek stupidity that I can't dislike it for the very valid writing/conceptual issues.

The best decision was making Springtrap a goofy, moustache-twirling villain with corny lines.

Probably Wesker's ridiculous running animation. It just looks so silly to me, though I will admit it's kinda funny when you realise he's only moving at the same speed as a teenager casually walking towards you with a knife. On the subject of Legion, I think Hunk's animation and the animation of the female members of the gang look a little bit silly as well (that said, I'm still a Susie main for life. I could never hate these guys).

The only Survivor that really gets under my skin is Feng for her injured moaning. I do like a lot of her skins but I feel forced to run Iron Will if I play as her to preserve my sanity. Since I crutch pretty hard on exhaustion perks, that's pretty much as good as painting a big "kill me first" target on my back.

Wesker's goofy run is made hilarious by how hard the chase music is trying to make it scary.

Anecdotal; most Wesker players I face are merciless.

That's interesting. If we're to list the killer's most likely to turn friendly/meme, I'd put Wesker in the top 3. But it's been awhile. No one likes fun anymore.

It might be my MMR but most Weskers I'm coming up against are usually practising their techs (or what's left of them). I imagine the lack of mercy comes from them not wanting to slack off during their Rocky montage.

My personal most disliked Survivors and Killers are the following:

Survivors which find a key at 5 gens with no hooks and decide to do nothing the whole match to gamble on the hatch.

Killers which carry you to the hatch to mori you there or giving the hatch to the one survivor which hasn´t take a single chase or done a single gen.

At first I found the whole "bring you to hatch and shut it in your face" thing to be infuriating, but over time I've started to just see it as a prank. It is just a game after all. I'm not actually being violently murdered.

As for giving hatch to a rat, yeah, sucks. I know from my perspective I avoid doing that. I tend to identify my hatch candidate early on, either by them giving me fun chases or just being cute. If I'm winning by enough of a margin, I'll drop chases on them when they're on death hook to facilitate that.

Ace. I, like others already mentioned, just can't stand his smirk. I can't tell you how many times one has gotten a stun on me and then got directly in my face wanting to be cutesy and his lil smirk just absolutely sends me over the edge.

Nic Cage. This one is kinda personal. I looped a scratched mirror Myers (pre-change) for 5 gens after a Nic player in the lobby had lead the chase to me 2 different times while I was on the first gen. I genuinely to this day do not know why he did that. Well I looped the entire rest of the game and once endgame arrived, I saw a door had been 99'd and saw Nic standing at that door. I ran over there injured with Myers in tow and Nic body blocked so no one could open it. I had no where to loop in the area, so finally went down at the door. Once I was hooked (first hook of the game mind you), the whole team left and he teabagged me at the exit. So yeah, I have a personal distrust (borderline fierce hatred) for Nic Cage's.

For killer I can't say I really have any petty hate for any. I guess if I had to pick one though, I've never had a really positive game with Doctor. I don't mean that as in I've not played well against them, in fact, he's one of the easiest to loop imo. Rather, I've never met one yet that doesn't hard tunnel and BM.

Love the topic @zonkednb <3 I like discussions like this one :)

    <3 <3

Yeah, I wanted to post this because I think we all have our own little things that make us perhaps a bit unfair in how we judge a particular character. Like, there are killers I dislike more for their mechanics than good old Fredward, but I have this petty dislike that I can't let go of :( Think it can be quite cathartic to just admit sometimes "Yeah, I hate this thing because I hate it and you're not persuading me otherwise."

I actually laughed at the Ace description. It's so spot on. Like, I'm sorry boo, you're not getting hatch because even though I know you can't help it, your face is BM by default.

I enjoy a good Nic though. Never been sandbagged by one so maybe I live by my privilege here, but they're just chaos incarnate. I had a pretty lopsided 3K, gave hatch to the Nic, and he hit me with "ez baby killer" in chat after. It fried me. Was laughing too much to be mad.

MiNA, solely because she isn't Trickster.

I also hate how non-flappy Dracula's cape is and how weird Skull Merchant's walk animation is but it's not exactly the same level of petty as my dislike for MiNA.

I'm kinda with you on the petty MiNA dislike, if only because the comeback chapter had her spammed in all of my games and her little knife throw grunts annoyed me.

I got my petty revenge though. MiNA players love their Mori, so if I was the last survivor, I'd try to go down in a spot that breaks the camera and treats them to a view of a wall or box. That way I'm the real winner.

On Skull Merchant, the first time I ever saw her in game I thought her animations were bugged out. Turns out she's just like that. I think she'd be cooler if she ran tbh but maybe I don't understand character design.

Wesker. Because when his ptb launched everyone playing him triple tunneled right off hooks. And that continued after launch as well for years. I got so used to hating the people using him that i just hated him too lol meanwhile i wouldve liked him otherwise as a fan of resident evil.

Not so long ago I was on the Wesker hate train because I couldn't figure out how to deal with his power effectively. I've since seen the light and now I like a Wesker game. Anecdotal; most Wesker players I face are merciless.

I genuinely dislike what they did to Kaneki, by giving him that annoying scream every time he lands his kagune leap.
He did not sound anything like it in the anime, bar that one scene where he got tortured. Note: This does not apply to Rize

As for survivors, I don't have any strong dislikes. If anything, I'd say Taurie, due to the "It should have been me" line, making her sound like she's doing nothing but complaining.

I've actually not watched the anime because I plan on reading the manga, and the general consensus I've heard seems to be that the anime starts strong then kind of devolves into nonsense. I'll also say that Kaneki's voice in DBD put me off the idea of the anime because only having DBD to go by, I presumed his gremlin screams were going to be a mainstay. I thought the chihuahua in the tumble dryer bit was actually his iconic sound design and didn't think I could stomach it every 10 minutes. Glad I was wrong, still gonna read the manga instead.

I like Taurie because I find her downed scream funny. Dustin gets similar praise.

Demogorgon because of old daily challenges as I kept getting the "Hit 5 fully charged shred attacks". Anyone that knows this daily might have been one of the most annoying killer dailies you could get as when you play Demo you rarely do fully charged shred as its not fast to do and its usually better to just do fast shreds. So you rarely do fully charged attack in normal gameplay. So quite often had to intentionally do it and it felt so annoying as usually most killer dailies back then were quite simple to get but this one just was a chore usually. Like I still play Demo when I get it in my randomizer builds but it has never been my favorite killer to play and that challenge just still brings a bad taste to my mouth.

Before my time that, for sure. I struggle to do well with Demo because I think I get too excited over his portals, when in reality, most people seem to play him without making too much use of them. I enjoy Demo, though. He's a good pup.

You're brave for posting this. I'll join since I've never shared my controversial opinions about them publicly. 😅

Chucky. The idea of him being a threat just feels silly to me. He's so small and supposed to be a threat, but survivors can't kick him or interact with him properly just doesn't make any sense. I also dislike his voice. I haven't seen the movie, so I'll leave it at that.
On the survivor side, Vee and Thalita. They seem happy to be in the fog and their animations feel Fortnite-like.

I see the logic, but I love a Chucky. However, kinda easy for me as I'm a fan of the first film. And knowing it's the original actor who just loves being Chucky whenever he gets the chance adds a wholesome element to it. Can really feel the fun being had in the delivery.

However, an April fools mode where we get to punt Chucky, scoring extra points if we manage to send him flying through a window, would definitely make this game #1 player count on Steam.

shoutout to all the ace enjoyers out there im sure you love your silent man but couldnt be me

It's like he's mocking you, with his suit jacket and leopard print undies. Ace is my second below Jake, only saved by Aces usually being fun to chase, or attempting the most unlikely plays where either they get it and I gotta give props, or they feed me free hits which is always nice.

It seems to be the case that when you try to drop the Pallet on a lunging Killer that their position at the end of the lunge is taken to see if a Pallet can be dropped or not. So even if the Killer did not complete the action, the Pallet is already blocked by them.

I sincerely hope that's incorrect because doesn't that just make lunges through a pallet free?

I have noticed some weirdness around timing pallet drops but I've always presumed it's some goofy ping interaction or just a skill issue on my part.

  • Pretty normal on the survivor front. I've had two instances of pure tunnelling recently, but most killers have been pretty chill and just gone chase>hook>pivot>chase and not worried too much about forcing the 3v1.

As killer it's a lot of flashlight/flashbang/head on japery. I don't mind games like that. The counter is to just bait the hiders out by faking pick up and taking the new chase. I'm pretty sure those survivors aren't really sweating either, they're just messing around and having fun.

  • Ehhh

Tryharding is subjective. Some people see it as running full meta and employing every dirty tactic, others see it as simply trying to win the game, even with a casual perk spread.

I also think the silly/friendly moments are more special when there's no initial indication that the killer is going to behave that way.

  • @KhrisCo said:

You create a new map and there's not a single place to use an entire perk on the whole map. Seems like an oversight.

Also, Freddy Fazbear's Pizza map only has one place I've found that it can work, which again seems like an oversight. And Fallen Refuge I think doesn't have any?

I think it's an oversight, not a deliberate decision for balance or any intended gameplay effect.

I hate it though. BL is my favourite exhaustion perk, but I'm reluctant to equip it because of the RNG of it being an empty slot.

  • As a mobile user, it is not, at least not on Firefox. I really, really, hope that they sort this out and either add dark mode as an option or revert/fix whatever update has made the forum blinding and generally broken looking.

I've had compliments get censored making it look like I'm insulting the other players.

I've no doubt they've just got a rolling contract with some automated no-no-word checker and either can't or won't tweak it to have a whitelist. The fact that the word killer gets censored is ridiculous.

Make it an option. If someone is hurling slurs at me, I'm unbothered.
