We all love to share out wishlist, espousing the necessity that our mains get into 2v8 before anyone else's main, but what about killers that would actually make the game less fun? Maybe on both sides? I'm not talking about killers with logistical issues, such as Dredge when Huntress needs lockers to reload, but killers that, if added, would actively make the game mode less fun overall. After a near miss on a recent axe throw, I've been grumbling to myself about the lack of crosshairs in this game. While, after many hours, you can learn to eyeball where you are aiming based your animations/models, not only does this become unreliable with different skins (Slinger), it's an unreasonable ask for a player to intuitively know how to line up properly. Not to mention it's needless ext2 comments 112 views last activity

Aren't they just a little bit too reactive to projectiles? I'm not talking about balance in the queue. A bot is easy to exploit and catch. You can even use how egregious they are with their projectile dodges to your advantage, zoning them away from resources for free. I'm talking about when you're trying out a new killer or build in a custom before taking it live. It's their instant reactions11 comments 141 views last activity

I'm talking no macro, limited micro, just press buttons, hear sounds and leave satisfied. Bonus points for not mentioning Ghoul.16 comments 231 views last activity

There has to be something keeping us coming back, right? Even after a string of harsh losses on both sides, a few bags and humps, a cheater killing an otherwise balanced lobby… People always seem to only take a week off. I'm supposed to taking a break right now. Been losing too much. But I'm sat at work scratching my wrist like an addict, thinking about the rush of spinning a bodyblocking Wrai24 comments 301 views last activity

I have a friend that likes to play DbD with me on occasion. She's not really into balance or anything like that, she just likes to do gens and laugh like a goblin if she gets a pallet stun. However, she has pretty signifcant sensory issues, to a point where matching into a single Doctor game would usually end the session for that night. She'd tough it out, bless her, but afterwards would need4 comments 161 views last activity

Meme addons that completely adjust a killer playstyle are pretty common and largely considered just a bit of fun. But what if… They weren't fun and were instead stupid? I propose Opposite Day Addons. Addons that completely rework a killer by making their power do the opposite of what it's supposed to. Bonus challenge if it works with the theme and may even have a niche use. I'm talking about you; the (presumed) human being sat reading this thread when you should be doing something else. Yeah. The fog has taken you and it has been decided that you're the perfect candidate to kill some slasher victim archetypes. This is just you, not some fantasy version of you (although the entity may warp you as it does to others) What perks do you bring to the Entity's realm? Bo46 comments 745 views last activity

Hello! My DBD journey continues. I've gotten much better at survivor now, but it is still the side of the game I find considerably harder. In the last episode, I couldn't figure out how to handle Wesker. I can now handle Wesker. Character growth. Now, I'm stuck on Oni, however. I find the guy harder to deal with than Nurse or a good Blight (even pre 4.4.) I know the general thinking with2 comments 62 views last activity

Maybe I've just been lucky until now, but I've literally never had DbD crash until the latest patch. Now, it feels like there's a 50/50 shot of crashing after leaving lobby once a match is complete. I get hit with the little window and an error message of "Exception_access_violation." This is especially annoying when trying to pal around with a friend in 2v8 as killer. Let's all stop pretending to be objective for a moment and indulge our most biased selves. We all have stuff we just can't be convinced to like, no matter how many people disagree or how lacking the reason for disliking that stuff is. I got thinking about this when playing against a Freddy last night. I actually like Freddy's gameplay. It's varied, counterable, telegraphed and his sleep mecha63 comments 1,206 views last activity

Easing my hyperfixations today by discussing BMing in a more neutral setting. I played a few games as killer last night and got the cheekiest survivors I've yet seen, some really good at the game, some confident but… Not so good. I don't let BM affect me at all, no matter how badly the game is going for me. If I keep playing as best I can, I'm more likely to catch someone out when they get too17 comments 191 views last activity

I've been seeing a huge amount of this lately, predominantly in the event which I presume is because of the BP incentive, but even in regular queue. I go killer, find my first chase, give the survivor a little love tap and they stop, turn and start crouching to request mercy. Often this comes after the survivor didn't even bother to run. I shake my head and try to give them enough time to g31 comments 462 views last activity

Wesker gets a lot of love for being balanced. I'm not here to argue community consensus. I've read tips here and there, and trust me, there's no shortage of Weskers to practise against (I swear he's like every second game.) But for some reason, I've a skill issue with him. I bait the vault and he stops just short of it and bodyblocks. I turn and move unpredictably and just get M1'd, same is2 comments 31 views last activity

I'd consider myself 'bad' by community standards but average by actual wider playerbase standards. I understand loops, I can pull off a mindgame, I can zone and have some level of macro sense. I approach discussion on this forum with the perspective of the average player instead of comp/high-level, because it's the only perspective I have. I'm good at Wraith, which isn't saying much because app12 comments 161 views last activity

So after a few hundred hours on killer, I've learned something that made me genuinely sad. I thought Chucky's laugh was tied to his Hidey-Ho mode, but it's actually tied to any instance of undetectable. (I know, took me a while to catch up). I can see the logic behind it. He's small and has third-person camera, meaning he'd be next to impossible to see before it's too late. He can position him18 comments 403 views last activity

Faced a wave of DC's lately, after a few matches that were clearly not fair. This isn't a statement on matchmaking as we have numerous threads about that already. Instead, I simply want to know the general consensus on which role's fun is more impacted by severe skill/knowledge disparity.40 comments 441 views last activity

Back at it again with a discussion thread to fuel why we love this game. Stop by, take a seat, and have a break from balance discussions for a moment. I think micro-moments in this game are one of the main things that keeps people coming back. There is fun in the macro game, juggling and balancing multiple things, planning/predicting and getting great outcomes, but what keeps me playing are th18 comments 322 views last activity

At this point, pretty much everyone here has a strong understanding of the game, but that wasn't always the case. We were all new once. I remember the first time I played this game in 2022 with my partner. SWF'd together and got into a match against Myers. He found me first and was just standing there. I thought he was being cute/friendly so I walked up, gestured, ran in circles, told my partn68 comments 804 views last activity

With 41 killers now, we have oodles of variety in terms of kit and effective playstyle. There's no indiciation the pace of new killers will slow, meaning there will be even more playstyles added. Something I have noticed is a fair few killers have considerable overlap in how they are expected to play. While it wouldn't be reasonable to expect every new killer to be entirely distinct, as this w16 comments 302 views last activity

Just waited in the killer queue for ~30 minutes, only to join a sever and be booted off the class I chose and forced to play a different one, because I was matched into a lobby with someone using the same class. I know that all killers with all classes are playable, but it's still kind of annoying when there's no way for many players to communicate, so if I have a particular idea for a class/kill0 comments 111 views last activity

As a newer member of the community without having been present for the colourful history of balance in this game, Skull Merchant is a bit of an enigma for me. I'm still new by hours standards, but have played enough of the game to find the groove and start engaging with balance a bit more. I largely 'get' what the issue with some S-tiers are, and why some D-tiers are D-tiers, even if it doesn't a31 comments 1,021 views last activity

Preface: I don't know anything about sound design on a technical level. Something I often fixate on is sound design in games. I feel in DBD it can be a huge difference maker in how much fun you are having, even down to the small things. A huntress hatchet's whipping sound as it flies past you when you didn't even know she was there feels like a super cinematic start to a chase, compared to th29 comments 582 views last activity
