  • I always thought it was because Neas were “evil”. Typically the ones to bully the killer, sandbag teammates, farm hooks, and engage in all variety of other shenanigans that often result in the Entity getting a bite or two.

But that was just me trying to figure out the Nea-Entity joke on my own. The ugly Nea thing makes sense too!

  • Didn’t something like this happen for Nemmy when he released? It was something along the lines of mistakenly granting points toward a survivor category, Objectives I think, when you use your power.

  • It needs to be something that requires skill and intelligence to use AND requires skill and intelligence to counter. The sort of thing where whichever side wins the encounter, the loser can just say “dang, they outplayed me!”

Old Billy was a great example of that (aside from certain add-ons).

Things to avoid are cheap hits, overly simplistic powers, overly complex powers that are way too situational to use. Beyond this, survivors usually balk at anything thing that “Hinders” them (slinger, clown bottle, cenobite...). Killers usually balk at anything that the survivor can deny (Plague’s power puke, ptb kidnapping of Victor, etc.)

  • Let’s face it - if you can be stopped by a pallet and a bright light, then you’ve got no business trying to take on an inter-dimensional beast with the ability to build realms, feast on emotion, reincarnate its victims, and - at the very minimum - burrow through the ground to impale you from below.

  • I play on PS4. My Blight is collecting dust.

I get people's frustrations but to literally come to the forums to just be like,

    'Tunnel, camp, tbag, clicky clicky'.

    I don't get it honestly.

(Not just this post, a lot of others too).

Sometimes you wanna vent. I could talk to my coworkers or maybe ring up some family members, but I don’t quite think they’d get it. Coming here, at least you know you’re speaking to people who know what you’re talking about.

Some of them might even share my sentiment.

  • Someone tries to sandbag their teammate in a locker while I’m chasing them? Nah, I down the rat, nod at the locker, and then pick up my slug who foolishly stopped running. I make sure to look sideways so the guy in the locker knows I’m not going for a grab.

    Screw this Steve!

  • Why am I suddenly seeing so many offerings for Gideon? Hmmmm 🤔

  • Yeah I don’t think the DC‘s are intentional. The game is really unstable since yesterday’s update.

It’s been I don’t even know how long since the little notification tab just out right doesn’t work. Links to the notifications and such are there, but either placed horribly or are invisible. Either way it hasn’t been fixed for years now and it’s something that can be quite quickly if somebody paid attention to it.

I could be wrong, but it was my understanding that there was initially some falling-out between DBD Traditional and DBD Mobile. Since the Traditional camp runs the forums, I believe the neglect of the Mobile section is intentional.

I play Mobile as well, and believe me I wish there was a forum to go share some comments and concerns! (For example, last night I dropped a perfectly placed flash bang and the explosion crashed my phone. Wonder if my bot escaped....)

  • Imagine a small progress bar on the HUD that quickly fills and depletes once per second: over and over.

The more full it is, the higher your chance of spawning a skill check. So if you need to get off a gen, time it for when this bar is low to minimize your chance of blowing the gen upon release!

Sure, this is a bandaid fix, but could also be nice to have some control over such things. It also gives you something to look at while working the gen. 80 cycles = finished gen!

    Anyway, thoughts?

He's not fun to go against on console so I don't enjoy going against him in the slightest. I want out of the match as soon as it begins but I stick it out until my inevitable death.

I think part of this is the terrible lag spikes / frame drops / stutters / overall performance issues that we have to deal with on console. While much of the seems to be Nemmy-related and therefore worse in Nemny matches, I still think that overall as a killer he’s fun.

If they ever fix these problems, I bet these matches will be an absolute pleasure to play!

  • F keys, sure, but I think I’ve been seeing more complaints about W keys....

    I’ll see myself out now

  • I like the idea!

However for those who think it’s too strong, maybe just have it negate the locker’s aura-blocking for the survivor using the perk. This way you can use Empathy to see if an injured in need is headed toward you or if you need to find a better locker.

That, or just see the aura of any survivor within 5 meters of the killer when you’re in lockers.

  • Met a few Bubbas and Trappers today (mostly Bubbas) where things could’ve gone very differently if someone had this perk equipped!

  • First of all, don’t be sorry for posting to the forum. I see it’s your first post ever, so welcome!

Now to your topic, I’m not familiar with the term “ungramb”, but it sounds like you’re referring to the process of wiggling off the killer’s shoulder.

It is intentional for this to take a while. The killer usually finds a hook in time, but it still allows for a survivor’s teammates to try to save them by sabotaging hooks. Wiggling also serves to purpose of not allowing the killer to take everyone to the basement from any distance.

There are certain perks available to speed up wiggling if you want, like Breakout.

  • Some of the others listed could be obtained by simply going to Home Depot or Academy. This one though, this lets you get where you wanna go quickly and undetected.....oh the possibilities! Not to mention scaring the snot out of anyone who dares cross you!

Hmmm, I guess Wraith is essentially the same thing huh?

Demo’s portals would be fun too, except for the fact that you have to travel to your destination before you can, you know, travel there.

  • @Marc_go_solo said:

Yeah, I was getting confused with that too.

Honestly, if people want Pinhead to have the same letters that's fine, but as Pinhead is one word, just make the "h" in lower case.

Therefore, Pyramid Head = PH, Pinhead = Ph.

Although, I do think it's probably better to not follow my advice here.

Lol, Pinhead = Ph. Aka “Acid”. That’s my new name for him!

(I understand he could be “Alkaline” as well, or even ”Neutral”, but come on, Acid is just so much better!)

  • @Adjatha said:

You could go P H for Pyramid head and PH for Pinhead. Or PH and Ph. Or /\ and ().

I like the last one, personally.

Ladies and gents, we have a winner!

  • @meatisadelicacy said:

I've always referred to Pyramid Head as Toblerone.

Ha! Hey, way off topic, but did you know there’s a bear hidden in the mountain on the left side of the Toblerone package? (Right in front of the “T”)

  • It seems that we’re all on the same page so far, so that’s good. I’ve already seen thread titles out here where they use PH for pinhead, so just be warned!

Can someone feel me in? All I heard was that they’re getting rid of Hawkins but anyone know why?

License wasn’t able to be renewed, so DBD is no longer able to profit from it after November 17.

If you own characters/cosmetics, that’s fine, you won’t lose them and can still play with them. However, if you don’t have them, Nov. 17 is the deadline to purchase. They’re gonna do a big sale for all the stuff from this chapter soon.

The biggest impact to the game is that the Hawkins map will be disabled.

    And that’s pretty much it!

I believe a Stranger Things Sale was leaked 3 weeks ago, which was named in the code "Stranger Things Sunset Sale" (source : @DBDLeaks on twitter)

The "Sunset" to me implies this has been planned for some time.

Makes sense. They’ve probably been in negotiations about renewing the license for a while and it eventually became clear that it just wasn’t going to happen. Curious about the reason why though.

  • Maybe it’s a box of sewing equipment. In particular, lots of..........pins!

  • 1). Really like the idea.

2). This discussion brings back fond meteorites of when Spies had NO cooldown AT ALL. It was delightful! That string of pops showing you everything a survivor did!

  • This has been a fun thread to read! Seems that the general consensus is “don’t trust the killer”, and I can respect that. However, when my teammates all start taking “farming” hits, I’m now left with the option of joining in and hoping for the best, or working all 5 gens alone.....uuuuuugghh.

I think survivors should move randomly if victor is on them, instead they h ave full control of their movement.

    I don't like that

Or maybe an effect similar to the Boil Over perk.

  • Yup, the issues are definitely back. For me, they don’t occur as often as they did last time, but when they do occur they’re more severe.

Sometimes I get freeze-frame up to 5 seconds long. This was especially bad when I had a game against Nemmy on RCPD map. I understand that this is just about as bad a combination as you can get for lag spikes.... rough match

    Ninjas are Chinese though

Yes, and samurai are Japanese. Unfortunately, his name isn’t “Onis”, so we’ve gotta take a little creative license here.

  • I bet she phased, but didn’t move.

It is known that you can lightburn the Spirit while phasing (the invisible part, where the killer player sees from). Doing so should pull her out of phase and therefore destroy her husk.

In this case, if she phased without moving, it makes sense that you would get both the lightburn and husk-destruction in the same spot.

That said, I dunno if there’s something else going on in your situation, but this explanation makes sense to me so far.

  • @cheeseburgerontoast said:

    Samurais are ninjas now?

DBD’s Oni is confused. Ninja for sure, though he’s just a wee bit lacking in his stealth skills.

  • So close! But I’m afraid I have to disagree with you on the premise that “ninja” typically implies “oriental”.

Therefore I posit that ONI (ours in particular) is more aptly an

    • Outraged
    • Ninja
    • Imp
  • As survivor - gen grabs

As killer - Jeff’s painted face when he screws up his juke and fills my entire screen instead

  • I set it down and pick it back up, maybe do this twice. They’ll realize that if you’re not carrying anything, then you wouldn’t be able to do this, so then you must have a key they didn’t notice. (No need to let them step on it and potentially steal it.)

After picking it back up, you have 2 options:

    1. Know where the hatch is? Beckon emote so they know to follow you to the hatch.
    2. Don’t know where the hatch is? Stand there and stare at them for a bit, then slowly move away. This will entice them to stay near you. Make it obvious that you’re looking into the T&L’s and moving on. This gets them to help you search.
  • Love mobile. Just wish I could spend the bloodpoints more quickly. Takes me 45 minutes to spend the million, so I’m generally hovering around the cap trying to spend just enough to let me play another match without being denied my earnings!

  • Maybe it should be more of a counter to “undetectable” or “oblivious” status effects.

  • I was thinking something more like Meg wearing a Pig mask—- oh, wait

Killer's perk is useless, survivor's OP.

1 stack, which is not ever guaranteed, because it is under hex is just bad. You would not use it even in hex build using Devour.

2 stuns for free Sprint Burst, while you can run? No, thanks. Compare it with Vigil.

For the killer one, I was considering making it 1/2/3 stacks split amongst applicable perks. Do you think that would be a better way to go?

  • I’m actually excited by what I see here. I haven’t played any, so when BFN goes free tomorrow, I can start here and then have the GW ones to look forward to later!

  • Good or bad, I just find Nemmy to be fun! No matter if I’m killer or survivor, if there’s a Nemmy in the match, I’m having a good time!

  • Small game.

    • You know how many totems remain.
    • You can go about your normal business and then shift into Totem Hunter when you hear it proc. (The other perks require you to be dedicated to cleansing while the info is still valid. Use it or lose it, so to speak.)
  • Lol imagine using BBQ and seeing the lil glowing red gnats at the furthest end of the map!

Ha, on that note, imagine running across 4 realms to save a hooked teammate just to have them die on first hook cuz you couldn’t get there fast enough!

    Seriously though, fun thought experiment!

I think it's got to be the biggest streamers. If there's a consensus there, and then it gets reinforced over and over, then it'll be mostly agreed upon and trickle down. But since waving is a survivor "creation" (meaning the devs didn't put in the ability to wave to signal one specific message. It's a byproduct of attempting to unhook yourself), not enough of the community would care even if they gave their two cents.

Well, yeah, you’re right. However, getting streamers to agree on a unified message message would be.....unlikely.

Though the devs may not carry the most weight on this topic, I think a really easy way for them to bring people around to one point of view would be to simply put their preferred meaning into the loading screen tips. Newer players would believe the tip, and older players would assume other people are following the same mindset that is now so visible.

  • I would love to see the devs come out and put this to rest once and for all. “Flapping arms on the hook means ______.” And finally everyone can be on the same page about it.

Franklin's demise is now depleting items before they disappear. So if you go back to it as a survivor before the time is up your item has become practically useless

That’s an intended change from the Resident Evil chapter. The items never disappear, but they do deplete. Survivors may not be able to use the item once depleted, but at least you have a chance to still escape with it and keep it for your next game.

If you got PS+ it’s free for a month from August 3rd.

(Edit: poorly worded. I mean it’s one of August free games. Not free to play only for one month.)

Oh I’m really glad you told me that! It’s on sale again right now and we’ve been discussing it. There would’ve been some severe buyer’s remorse if we purchased and then found it in our free offerings on Tuesday!

  • Wife and I are always on the lookout for split screen co-op games (PS4). We’ve seen this, but haven’t bought because we’re unsure whether it’s too juvenile or fun for adults.

I can't imagine this would be useful for any side, for killer your risking a chance of spawning another chest, and for survivors wasting a valuable resource such as a pallet is probably not worth it (Not to mention the killer will know where you are.)

    Exactly!

Both sides have pros and cons.

    • Killer can whip a zombie which denies survivors an item AND increases his power, but he loses an otherwise useful zombie for a while.
    • Survivors can potentially get nice items, AND know the type of item depending on what they see in the zombie’s hand, but it costs a pallet and makes noise. Might see more people using Any Means Necessary as a result.
