To me, Coulrophobia is only good with Distressing on Doc with increased TR add ons. I tried it on Clown with Distressing on The Game map, it wasn’t really effective at slowing the game down. Your TR as any other Killer other than Doc is still not large enough to make it reliable.

Really so use that and sloppy distressing and monitor and abused is a good build right

    True

I don't think NOED needs nerfed. Survivors just need to cleanse totems or pay the price. The very fact that NOED exists will always be in the back of survivors heads as they play. "Should I cleanse the dull totem? ... well there is NOED, guess better safe than sorry". That line of thought nudges survivors just a little bit away from generators and we all know generator completion speeds are a problem. NOED has to be strong. Or there is no incentive other than some bloodpoints to break dull totems.

As far the OP's suggestion for a 7 second cooldown, it seems a little weird. Like when does it go on cooldown? When all the generators are done there is a 7 second delay before it activate? After you hit a survivor? Basic attack? Killer power? What if the survivor was already injured? After all, I didn't really "use" it if I attack an injured survivor right? The idea is just weird and confusing to me. 7 seconds isn't very long though. I wouldn't lose my mind if they did do something like that, but again... I think it is completely unnecessary.

    Agree man

  • @AshleyWB said:

There's been talk about noed getting nerfed and talk about noed staying as it is. One thing which stands out is that noed is a frustrating perk to go against. It's almost shameful to equip it to begin with.

I like noed but I think it's due a nerf and when perks get nerfed to be less annoying, they tend to lose their function.

So here I am thinking of nerfs which will be less annoying but still as lethal at the end game.

Waiting 7 seconds for the noed cooldown to happen would mean the perk is more strategy based and not as crutch as it is deemed now. It would reduce the slug potential due to the fact that if you hit one Survivor down, for the next 7 seconds if you hit a survivor they will need 2 hits to go down or the 7 second cooldown to be complete.

This isn't a nerf noed thread, this is more of a I know noed will eventually be nerfed and when it is please make sure it's use remains, which is of course the insta downs once gens are completed.

And yes I know some Survivor perks need nerfs to break them out of the meta but that is irrelevant to my point however much I agree with you.

    It fine just destroy totem

It really depends on who you're most efficient with, if you can get more leverage out of Doctor than I say you should start using him.

But if you don't enjoy playing him than you should stick to Wraith or Spirit. It's entirely up to you, one Killer can be enjoyable to a player than the other, even if that Killer isn't as efficient to that player than the one that's perceived as "the more fun one" to them.

Yea you right I might just stick with Wraith and Doctor and maybe test lefion out and see how it play so thank you.

Eh, it depends who's using The Doctor and if we're talking base-kit than he's at best Mid-Tier now. If we're talking his 3 gen strategy than that's usually horrible to face as any Survivor since most Doctors that use this strategy will chase for a few seconds and than go back to defending Generators for a long time until someone goes down or a gen pops.

Spirit can end chases a lot faster than The Doctor and overall has the potential to be the Apex Killer of the roster in the right hands. But to be honest, if you can effectively use a Killer to their max potential than you'll of course clean house almost every time depending on how efficient you are in a chase and how often the Survivors make mistakes.

Spirit didn't work for me she fail me.

  • @Fibijean said:

Both can be effective in the right hands and with the right build, but Doctor is probably a bit easier to do well with in general than Wraith, because he has better tracking, better slowdown and is better at countering loops with his basekit.

However, if you would like to play Wraith at high ranks, he, like most stealth killers, benefits significantly with a hit-and-run build that plays to his strengths. Most stealth killers are weak in chase, but excel at catching survivors off-guard and landing that first hit, so perks like Thanatophobia, Sloppy Butcher and Nurse's Calling, particularly in combination with one another, tend to be very effective. Land the first hit, and abandon chase if they run to a strong loop. They will either waste a lot of time healing, or you will catch them injured later and be able to down them.

I use noed or stbfl with blood warden and work well and nurse calling too

  • @Reinami said:

No, do dull totems to avoid it. NOED counters gen rushing.

    Exactly

  • @Starr43 said:

    • NOED was no longer applied to a totem
    • Exposed status was no longer applied
    • Two consecutive hits grants you the ability to kill that survivor by your hands
    • Hitting another survivor cancels what was gained from the previous hit on the original survivor
    • The ability to kill with your hands cannot be applied if the survivor was still injured once the last generator has been completed unless they are fully healed
    • The ability may be used on more than one survivor as long as they were hit two times consecutively

    We need noed

I’m to lazy to read, but the new Ruin isn’t terrible. I just wish it wasn’t a hex totem.

I don’t like how fast games are going, and now have to result to tunneling and slugging, but it is what it is.

The problem was never Ruin, the problem was matchmaking and map size/design. When they fix those, game “should” get better.

Ruin was a bit of a problem

  • @lynelmane said:

As we all know, Hex:Ruin was completely changed in the last update. So far i've only played survivor since then in order to complete that half of the tome II challenges. But I decided to work on the killer side. I played a round as Spirit on Gas Heaven, and boy, let me tell ya.

TL;DR at the bottom if you don't like reading. It wont hurt my feelings if you skip this, haha.

The ruin change has really hurt my fun. I played normally, non-toxic, as if ruin were the same as it used to be, and I got dunked on by these survivors. They played well, but it felt so much worse for me than if old ruin were being used. It stayed up for a few minutes! But that meant nothing because even on a high mobility killer, I had trouble keeping them off gens. I couldn't imagine playing on a bigger map such as rotten fields.

Sure, you can say that since i've only played one game since the update that I can't say anything yet about the change, but I don't think that's true. It took me only 1 game with a pretty good map and skill-matched survivors to realize that this ruin change was the wrong thing.

People have been quite for the past while on the forums, but that is only because they know that the change will never be reverted. There's no point wasting energy on something futile right? i'm going to keep fighting for this - for all the killer mains and players who know that this was the wrong thing.

I think this change couldve been good if it were either a) an entirely separate perk or b) changed after the gen speeds/swf advantage is addressed.

BHVR changed the one solution to a big problem instead of looking at the cause of the actual problem. Ruin was not the cause, it was the only solution. Killers are now being destroyed by survivors with any level of skill just because the devs wanted new players to have more fun. Just because they couldnt hit skill checks. What's the point of spending 100s or 1000's of hours getting good at something just for it to be nerfed to the point that a rank 20 with 10 minutes of playtime could do it?

This game is hard, and it's supposed to be hard. I could accept that when I first started. It was hard, but I got better and sucked it up. But now new players are being babied just because they aren't good at the game in the first 10 minutes.

TL;DR: The ruin change was a bad idea and it has taken away the fun of killers because the fun of new survivors seems to be the dev's priority.

Sorry for the long rant but I really think this change was poorly timed at the very least. This game is gonna lose its veteran and seasoned players because it's too easy for survivors to win now.

    Ruin was the cause

  • @ClickyClicky said:

New Ruin is way better. Its how a hex perk should be, powerful but risky. Something thats going to be used more for a specific build.

Old Ruin was everywhere. Everyone had it, everyone knew to expect it.

I’d rather totems be something you see every 10 games or so rather than every single game. It keeps them special.

    Exactly better

  • @Infinity_Bored said:

No. Game is unfun with old ruin and the red skillchecks give me bad vibes.

    Exactly

  • @Lunah said:

I'm a survivor main and i think that the new ruin is pretty ass. I'm a red ranked survivor and the gens go bye bye in literally less than 2-3 minutes. It's unfun for both survivor and killer because the games go by so fast so we can't really do anything lol. I get why the devs nerfed it because it had a positive and negative impact on matches and it made it easier for newer players but like if we learned to combat ruin i'm pretty sure they could too. Since the ruin nerf survivor queues have been longer than before the ruin nerf and its probably because killers don't want to load into a match and then get gen rushed 2 seconds later. Please bring old Hex: Ruin: back.

    You crazy

  • @TAG said:

Tried it, didn't really like it, will probably look for something else. It's probably not bad on Killers like Trapper and Hag who want set-up time.

  • @Ronierd said:

I disagree. On the game's current state, NOED doesn't need a nerf.

Gen speed and map sizes are absolutely broken, which is why 'Ruin' was overrused. Also, because 'Ruin' would significantly slow down the early game (while still active), most survivors would search for it. Therefore, looking for 1 totem, they would find a few - potentially all of them - and then at the end of the match, NOED would not activate. If survivors do not decide to cleanse a totem that is not active, well, that's on them.

Now what is happening is: survivors do not see the need to search for 'Ruin'. Instead, they sit on gens smashing M1. So, of course, NOED will activate at the end.

I've had games where I hit a survivor working on a gen and he simply carried on. That is also toxic behaviour inspired by the 'Ruin' nerf - after all, the perk do not represent any risk if you decide to stay on gens.

As a killer, it doesn't depend on your skills to win a match - it depends on relaying on survivors mistakes. In this cases, the survivors' mistake is not cleanse totems.

    Exactly you right

Of all the things I have found wrong with DBD, the biggest issue I have had for way too long is No One Escapes Death. I refuse to see why this perk has went so long without a nerf. I'm not going to say to remove it, but something needs to change, because I'm tired of playing a game great only to die immediately to NOED. And it's hard to find the will to stay on the hook, since then all you do is risk killing anybody else. I'm not saying ditch this perk, because I understand that the best use of this perk comes from matches that went poorly for the killer. However, this inspires toxic gameplay. I absolutely despise the fact that you can do awful the entire game, yet still possibly net a 4K due to this single perk. Ruin was changed because people hated how annoying it was, but Ruin didn't need a change anywhere near as bad as this perk. Here are just a few ideas on how to nerf this perk: 1. When the killer runs this perk, change the design/color of the totems, that way it is worth it to cleanse dull totems, but doesn't totally eliminate the possibility of NOED actually triggering. 2. Have a requirement for the exposed effect, like only have the exposed effect if 4 or 3 of the survivors are still within the trial. This will still help Killers who've had a bad game, without entirely removing the ability for the survivors who've played well to escape. 3. Buff the survivors in some way. This doesn't have to be a big buff at all, but anything that makes it slightly easier to not die immediately is worth it. Like, how about removing all the survivors' exhaustion or make vaulting pallets and windows a bit faster. Just one of these tweaks would make playing against a killer with this perk infinitely more enjoyable, without making this perk worthless to run. Please, anybody consider this and spread it. Out of all the current balance issues, this one seems the most obvious.

    We need noed

My second last match was against a twitch streamer's SWF, all ranks 2's and one rank 1. They spent the match playing normally, up till near the end when they started to just bully me, and sabotage all the hooks in an area taunting me by letting me down one of them just to see that there were no hooks nearby.

It's not okay. If you think about it, many of us probably resorted to gaming because we were getting bullied when we were younger, I don't think any of us want to be bullied now.

Also that's pretty disgusting for a twitch streamer, like why do these smaller streamers have to give such a bad name for twitch streamers

Exactly I feel bad for you and this is what I'm dealing with and now I just wanna stop for a while until it get fix.

Ok I'm not gonna argue with you buddy, I know how rank 1 survivors play and they wouldn't go for the save if they know you're camping, maybe rank 5s but not rank 1s.

Also, how do you expect people to not be salty? You're doing something that's extremely annoying.

I try to play fair with wraith and didn't work they disrespect me so I use Bubba to punish them and see how it feel and they don't like it but what they did they think is OK which is not.

It suck I hate ranks 1

  • @Reaper_xx said:

I believe that the Devs should get fired for ruining this game. They claim that they are making it balanced but in reality, any changes makes the killer more hard and less enjoyable. It makes survivor more easier to play. If you look at other 4v1 games, they actually listen to both sides and fix some issue. DBD doesn't really listen to both sides as much. I feel like they are slowly running out of ideas and creativity. I will admit that the archive challenges is a good concept because it gives people more things to do and help sided player to be more versatile. Other indie horror games like White Noise 2 or Friday the 13th are a bit more balanced in a sense.

    Exactly I hate rank 1

Still, a rank 1 survivor wouldn't go for the save once they realize you're insidious camping unless they have borrowed time. It might work against green rank survivors or even purple but there's no way you'll get more than one kill face camping with Bubba in the red ranks you'll just end up getting gen rushed and depipping because you hooked just one person the whole game.

I got 4k and they did when to the save without bt and also they are ranks 1 so some ranks will do it instead of losing someone and that what they get for be salty.

Good against rank 1s? Lmfao rank 1s will loop Bubba forever.

Yes but I only use him to camp so when I find someone right away I camp with insidious then if someone save the other person I do same thing.

You seem to forget the fact that survivors are also "toxic" as well. Yes, face camping isn't fun, but neither is going against a 4 man SWF just for them to harass you at the end of the game. It's unfair for both sides; I'm assuming you're a survivor main? If not then my bad, but you need to consider what's fair or not for both sides.

You right that why I do it

  • @Mikeasaurus said:

I'm sorry, but can you blame killers at this point? Do you really think they like doing this to survivors? Blame the Devs, not the killers. I myself have resorted to this crap just to even earn a single kill. Ruin being nerfed has really made it pretty much near impossible for many killers to even keep pressure on. Matchmaking lets Red ranks just bulldoze through low rank killers. Have you even attempted to play killer recently? If not, I'd suggest you do before you make these assumptions of killers. Then you will see just how bad it is for us!

    Yea I do it too

  • @Harrygan said:

Seriously what is wrong with you devs and killers? Dont you understand that facecamping is NOT fun?

Not only it ruins the game for 1 or more survivors, but it also awards the killer with a pretty decent amount of bloodpoints which is even more frustrating for the survivors. Killers should be punished for this braindead game play because they literally make the game toxic.

    I do it

  • @Xerge said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1041654#Comment_1041654

Actually I only chased that survivor around a loop, because I got a free hit when I reached the gen they were working on. I know they finished the first gen in 30 seconds because three of them started working on the same gen when the match began, during those 30 seconds I found Claudette working on a gen, but I left her after the first gen popped because I wanted to find the other group of survivors. By the time I found them they had already done more than 50% of another gen.

Three survivors can finish a gen in less than 30 seconds if they hit the great the skill checks. If they manage to stick together while you chase and hook one survivor all gens can get done in less than 5 minutes. The mistake was not chasing for too long, it was not juggling all of them to force them to split.

You are really damn right and it help me now because I been doing that recently and I camp to beat and pissed ranks 1 from for salty.

  • @Xerge said:

I've been doing okay without ruin, but I've had to stick to strong killers. I've even reached rank 1 again after the update. However today I had a match in which all gens were done in less than 4 minutes, no toolboxes, no PT, just one guy with resilience.

I know I made a mistake at one point and started to chase one of the three survivors who were working on a gen instead of juggling all of them. I can admit I did a mistake there, but you won't believe how fast those gens popped after that mistake, it was insane.

Same mistake I did chasing 1 for entire game.
